Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Ryan Gorman Show podcast presented by Farah and Farah.
Accident attorneys Tampa.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Big day in court yesterday for Luigi Mangioni, as a
federal judge ruled that a gun in notebook linking him
to the killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson can
be shown to the jury. The defense argued that the
items seized were seized illegally because police had not obtained
a search warrant. So some of the items that were
found during the search of his backpack at the McDonald's

(00:30):
where police caught up with him were not admissible because
there was no public safety risk and the officers had
moved the backpack far away from him and they didn't
have a search warrant. That's the search where they found
his cell phone, passport of wallet in a computer chip,
so none of that evidence is allowed. But the material
in the backpack that was found when they were back
at the police station after they arrested him. The judge

(00:52):
says that was a legal search because it was normal
procedure once he was at the police station. So the
gun in the handwritten note about his frustrations with the
healthcare system will be admitted.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
That's a good thing. If that gun had been thrown out,
that that would have been rough. Now.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Meanwhile, outside the courthouse yesterday, several supporters, including some with
media credentials, talked about United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson and
justified Luigi Mangione killing him.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
His children are.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Better off without him.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
They need to learn their dad. Joy the blood bunny.
Brian Thompson, I don't give he's reful for more deaths
than Osama bin Laden. And I remember Americans celebrating England
Osama bin Laden was killed.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Yes, God yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I mean there was these three women just standing there
rambling on and all of.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
A camera like they don't even care.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Oh no, they're not ashamed of it at all. I
mean you heard what she said. I don't give a
bleeping bleep that he died kids are better off without him,
and that he's responsible for more deaths than Osama bin Laden.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
I mean, I have criticized our healthcare system how many
times on this show. But to go to that level
where you know you're okay with the CEO of one
of the big healthcare companies in this country being assassin,
I just don't know how you.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Get I don't understand it at all.
