Speaker 1 (00:00):
Right now, let's bring in our national correspondent, Rory O'Neill,
who supports brought to you by Mark Spain real Estate. So, Rory,
some protests again last night, there was a small one
outside of Tampa City Hall. We've seen a few pop
up here in Florida, larger ones obviously in Minneapolis. Few arrests,
nothing getting two out of hand just yet, but I

(00:21):
think they're going to get a lot bigger this weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Plus it's been warmer, you know, I think it had
it been ten degrees that would you've got a lot
of these protests as well, So we'll see how that goes.
But you know, we did have that shooting in Portland,
Oregon yesterday as well, involving Border patrol agents.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
That just sort of feeds the fire here.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
But yeah, to your point, lots of demonstrations but largely peaceful.
We had a few skirmishes yesterday in Minneapolis, some dispersings
were used, a couple of people got walked away in handcuffs,
but nothing too extreme.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Comedian John mulaney he's postponing his weekend shows in Minneapolis,
and he said in his statement, I don't feel comfortable
asking thousands of people each night to leave their homes,
gather at the venue, and then make their way home
when the situation is so unsafe. Probably a smart idea
on his part, just because you don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
What's going to happen.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Yeah, you don't want to have people in the show
and then leave into.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Chaos, right right. I mean hopefully that's not going to
be the case. But who the hell knows what's about
to happen, because you know this happened, this happened during
the week, and it's the weekend, it's it's Friday night,
Saturday night planned.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, I thought it was a little snowflaky of him,
but all right.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Really, really I don't think he's afraid to go to
the venue and put on this show. I think he
was thinking about it.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
He's thinking about other people, Like he's probably got a
team that can get him out of there safely, but
he's thinking about all the people who if you know,
all hell breaks lose, say the show's at seven, if
all hell breaks loose at eight, and then how are
people going to get home?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yeah, or if they start blocking the roads. I mean, again,
hopefully none of that happens. I think a lot of
people are going to go and protest just because they
want their voices heard. They have a certain opinion of
what happened. But we see this time and time again
to get these agitators mixed in and they cause a
lot of trouble.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah, but you know, what we've seen so far has
been largely peaceful and really not that big. Even though
I thought they're relatively small. When if you were to
take out the number of media in these things, that's
you know, really, I think you're going to find these
are much smaller. I mean, I'm laughing.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
It's like three people who are at protesting.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
They're showing the camera shots. I'm like, oh, there's the
CBS guy. Oh, Matt Gutman, he went from c ABC
to CBS. Now there's the other guy from Sienna. If
they're all just reporters and bloggers.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
And quote unquote influencers, I'd love to take out the
separate the media from the crowd.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
There.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
So you had mentioned with the crowd with the crowd,
that's true. That's a good point you had mentioned the
other day. You know, where's former Minnesota Governor Jesse been
in all of this? And sure enough, he spoke to
Fox nine in Minneapolis. Let me play what he said
about the shooting.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Any time you have the loss of life that needlessly happens,
that's tragedy. And what occurred yesterday did not.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Have to happen. And then he said this.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
You want to know something, I'll give you a quote.
We're a third world country. Now you want to know why.
I'm an expert. I've been to him. I spent seventeen
months in Southeast Asia while the draft Dodger was playing golf. Right.
You know how I know we're a third world country

(03:44):
because in third world countries they have the military doing
their police work in the cities when you walk around.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
So it just took a camera getting in front of
Jesse Venture for him to let loose.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Yeah, and he went on for like seven minutes. Yeah,
that clip on our ex at Ryan gormigche if anyone
wants to see his whole his whole rant.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Yeah, he was ready to go with that one. I
think he was waiting for him to be tracked down. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Yeah, again, that's all he needed to see with the camera.
Give you an I got a quote for you.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Uh, We're joined with the arena on October three.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
We're joined by our National correspondent Rory O'Neill, And you know,
it's it's the two cities that these shootings have occurred
in this week. You get Minneapolis where we also what
happened after George Floyd, and then Portland where it just
things seem to get out of control on a random Tuesday,
let alone. You know after something like this that that's

(04:40):
where I think the real concern is moving into the weekend.
I don't expect. I expect to see some protests here
in Florida, but generally they do not get out of
hand here. And the Attorney General, James up might already
saying don't mess around, don't even try it. Yeah, all right,
let's get to another story you're covering this morning, and
joined by our national correspondent Rory O'Neil. What is going
on on with this astronaut on the space Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
We've got an astronaut on board the Space station who's sick. Now,
because of medical privacy, they won't tell us who, they
won't tell us what the condition is, and they're not
saying it's an emergency.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
But they're moving up the schedule.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
They're going to bring this astronaut and a crew of
four home as quickly as possible. So the patient, they say,
is stable, but we don't know that. Even the nature
of the emergency. We know it's not a slipping fall, right.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Right, well done, well done, but it's.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
It's something that they felt was serious enough to end
their mission ahead of schedule. They were going to come
home late next month. Instead, they're going to come home
in the next few days. Now, the work is underway
to try to get the next crew that was going
to launch in the middle of February, get them up
there as quick as possible because when this crew of
four comes home and their ship is already there, not
like we have to launch it.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Yeah, their ride home is there.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
But when they come home, that's going to leave only
three people on the space station, and that's a big
place to run twenty four to seven. One of them
is American, the other two would be cosmonauts, and that's
a lot of medical research and stuff going on that
that one person has got to do.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
So I guess this astronaut had to do a like
a telehealth appointment.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
It sounds like, yeah, comfortable, like you know when you're
sick and you just want to like be in your bed,
like how uncomfortable must that be?

Speaker 2 (06:19):
That's right, well, right now, there is a doctor up there,
Christopher Williams. I'm quite a gifted guy, but yeah, so
there is a medical doctor up there and who's been
consulting with the flight surgeon on the ground. They've been
having video link ups, as you said, but they want more, essentially,
they want more imaging.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Has there ever been a situation where an astronauts got
like really sick and it became an emergency.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
No, this is the worst of this kind of thing
we've seen. In the press conference yesterday they had a
medical said they expected, you know, when they're planning these
things out, they said, well, we're every three years, we're
probably gonna have to cut the mission short because someone
gets sick. This is the first time in twenty five
years that this has actually happened.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
All right.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Rory O'Neil, our national correspondent with US Rory, thanks so much,
appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Thanks Ran, have a good weekend you too. The flu really.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Spreading, I mean all to the International Space Station.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
