Reflecting Pool Vandalism Charges Dropped

A British woman who was arrested for allegedly vandalizing the
reflecting pool after it was renovated, lashed out at President Trump,
telling The Washington Post the whole situation made her feel sick.
Now the charges against her and to other people who
were accused of vandalizing the reflecting pool have been dropped.
She said she's been a naturalized citizen for twelve years.

She works as a veterinarian, and she put her hand
into the reflecting pool to pick up what she thought
was litter. She was trying to help keep DC clean,
and then she was arrested and accused of vandalism. She
said the public humiliation heard her business and her mental health,
and also affected her ten year old daughter, and that
the whole situation to be called out by the President

of the United States really made her feel sick now.
Prosecutors said they were recently made aware of new information
that indicated the damage to the reflecting pool was caused
by contractor error and not vandalism. But this woman says
she told the officer who arrested her that day that
she didn't do anything wrong, and then she had to
go through weeks of this legal battle to get the

charges dropped.

Yeah, this whole thing has been I think a pretty
big embarrassment for US Attorney Jannine Pierro, who came out
and said, especially with Olympian David Hearn, that these are
rock solid cases and then charges have to be dropped
because they don't have the evidence. Apparently she got into
a big shouting match with President Trump over all of
this because he wants to see these charges stick. He's

adamant that it was vandalism that caused all these problems
with the reflecting pool, and she's like, look, we don't
have the evidence. Okay, it's not there. What do you
want me to do well?

Speaker 2 (01:46):
And it's just so obvious that this was a botched
job and that he just doesn't want to admit that
he hired bad people to do the job. And we
had the picture of the guy who did the job too,
him what a creepy.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
There's one look at him and he were no that
job being gonna go well. And then with Janine Piro
is another example, like with Pam Bondy, of over promising
and not being able to deliver, and then Acting Attorney
General Todd Blanche. He was asked yesterday about Janine Pierro,
if he has confidence Center and all of that, and
he said, you know, if the President wants to fire her,
he's well within his rights to do so.
