Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Ryan Gorman Show podcast presented by Farah and Farah,
accident attorneys from Tampa. So imagine sitting in your car
waiting for your bank to open and being approached by
police just for being in the parking lot. That's what
happened to a man in Tampa as he was waiting
for Chase Bank to open on May sixth. The employed
called police, and here's what happened. When the officer went

(00:23):
up to his car, which just happened to be a
tesla doing business here, they called him concerned. Are you're
just sitting here not really doing anything? No waiting? Yes,
so I got use a bank called. The bank called
and said that they concerned that I'm sitting here waiting
for the opening up. Yes, that's crazy, temples, old man,

(00:45):
it's another guy. Are you doing business? Yes, but this
is my bank. Okay? Are you going to go inside
as soon as they're opening. They opened up at nine o'clock.
And they also thought that he was drinking. That's crazy
and they said you had alcohol and whatever. So I
don't know if they saw your red Bull alcohol. Oh,
I gotta understand. That's a bank and people hanging out

(01:07):
on the bank book they's a little nervous. Yeah. So
this guy was black and he was drinking a red Bull,
but he's sitting in a tesla, and he said that
he's an Airbnb in air which I'd never heard of
that before, but I guess it's a guy who's got
a lot of airbnbs and he's making some good money
on it. So he said that he was there to
take out a large amount of money, that he does

(01:29):
business there all the time, and he was completely blown
away by the fact that they saw him sitting there
and called police. So then after the officer went inside
to talk to the bank employee so let them know, hey,
he's a customer. He was just waiting, and the bank
employee was like, oh, well, he walked up to the
door holding his phone, and then he walked away and
probably he realized that the bank was up, or one

(01:52):
sat in his car to wait for them to open. Yeah,
really really messed up. So Chase Bank issued an apology
statement saying we're aware of the interaction at one of
our Tampa area branches. Were committed to treating all of
our customers fairly and with respect, and we're reviewing what
occurred to ensure our actions aligned with that commitment. We
sincerely apologize to our customers. So, yeah, banking while black

(02:14):
is now, it's pretty bad. And then I also pointed
out he's in a Tesla and he's like, I got
more money than and then you have the people here.
I don't need to rob that bank. Yeah. Listen Live

Bleep! with Ana Navarro

Bleep! with Ana Navarro

Fear thrives in silence and confusion. Ana Navarro rejects both. Her voice is an antidote to today’s chaos. Her new podcast, Bleep! with Ana Navarro, takes on today’s most pressing issues with the voices most connected to it: decision-makers, political leaders, cultural shapers, and people on the frontlines of the story. The conversations acknowledge the emotions we all feel—despair, sadness, fear— but emerge with knowledge, perspective, and hope. The belief is simple: fearless dialogue can transform fear into courage, and courage into change. When fear dominates the headlines, this show digs deeper. Because information, debate, and conversation don’t just ease fear, they give us power to shape the future.
