Speaker 1 (00:00):
And we're off and running with a big health Is
this healthy?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Right?

Speaker 3 (00:04):
Yeah? I guess it's the health portion of the show.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
Yeah, And everybody that's listening right now has probably already
had coffee.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
I'm just guessing.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
I think people like a buddy of mine told me
his wife doesn't drink coffee, never has drank coffee, And
I'm sorry, I know, jb You're not a big coffee
drinker anymore, but I just I think that's weird.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
I feel like we got to be careful with those people.
But Jabi drinks it on the weekend, so you're back
in the club with.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
This on the weekends. It was just messing with my stomach.

Speaker 5 (00:33):
I have like one cup on the weekend with my wife,
and we know she has coffee every morning, but she's
gone way before I even get up.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Well, you might like my information. I have been okay.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Yeah, I went and stayed with a friend over the
wind and I was like, Wow, what is this coffee?
It's delicious and she said, oh, it's Caribou coffee. It's
mold free, and I was like, what is mold free?
After her explaining this me for a while, apparently coffee
there are a lot of foods that have mold in them,
but apparently coffee is one of the big ones, and

(01:08):
mold in your body can definitely mess with your health
help side effects not good for you. So she switched
to mold free coffee. It's Cariboo Coffee. I'm waiting for
her to send me the exact name, because Cariboo has
a bunch of different lines of coffee. Cariboo Coffee mold free.
And she also used oat milk as a creamer. And

(01:31):
I will let you know that it is some of
the best coffee that I've had. I had two cups
each morning, and here's how I note that it's different
than other coffees my entire life. At some point after
drinking coffee, you have that moment of my coffee kicked in.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Just now, I'll be right back right right.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
That hold on, mid sentence, I have to go to
the bathroom right now, the coffee kicked in. That did
not happen to me either. One of the mornings that
I was at her house.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Oh, I would have been bombed if.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
And I had to No, no, no, I'm saying, like later on,
I was like, oh, I have to go to the bathroom.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
It was not the freak out.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
My coffee kicked in yeah moment, which I think is
nothing but good for your body.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
And it was delicious.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Right.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
So now I'm on the mold free coffee wagon. So
were you Sandy bybeh?

Speaker 5 (02:18):
Is this one of those things like I'm going to
start hearing about it everywhere now, molded because I.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Looked it up. Yeah, I looked it up. I don't
know if it's a trench.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
She's been doing it for a while, but like she
was sick a lot and she went I guess to
her internal medicine doctor, I don't know, and they tested
her and she had high levels of mold in her body.
I don't know if that's our blood. I don't know
what they tested, but that's just not good obviously.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I so badly want to walk into a hipster coffee
shop and ask do you have any no mold coffee?

Speaker 5 (02:49):
Just that k you know what I mean? And when
they say no, going God, really, I'm never coming back
here and just be that person.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
But I don't know. It was a good coffee. I
drank the heck out of it.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
The mold in the coffee is myso toxins you don't
want that.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
You don't want that in your body.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Sounds bad. So I was about to do some research
on this. Maybe I could go back to coffee.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Yeah, is that what you said? It was causing your
stomach issues. It was giving stomach issues, right, yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
It was it the oh my coffee kicked in kind
of stomach issues. Uh.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
Yeah, I don't want to I don't need details. No,
it wasn't like, oh I have to go real bad.
I just my stomach just fell off all the time.
And my doctor is like, you're drinking coffee. I'm like, yeah,
caffeine it was. It was not specifically coffee. It was
just giving up caffeine. Oh.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
So I'm guessing that coffee minus the mold is more expensive.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Oh I'm sure sure.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
I feels to remove the mold is very nice to
be expensive.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Jabie, you tried the speaking of coffee drinks like that,
and it's funny you. I was about to try it,
and you said, don't that mushroom coffees.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
I tried to add too as an alternative.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
It's like a I kept getting the ads it's called
like rise why it just doesn't taste good enough?

Speaker 3 (04:16):
And I don't I don't like ad.

Speaker 5 (04:18):
I think if you added creamers and sweeteners and stuff,
it might be okay.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
It was supposed to be.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
It was supposed to be easier on your stomach and
no bonk kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
I just didn't like to taste.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Yeah, that's a that's a game that'll stop you if
then if all the other stuff is great and you
don't like the way it tastes, then you're right, I
have it. Yeah, right, Tricia, can you order some of
that coffee? But yeah, not a whole lot of it. Yeah,
well you do love it, so get as much as
you want to.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Guess I'm waiting for her to take a picture of
the box and send me exactly what it is. Like
I said, I know it's Caribou coffee, and then you
can order a box on I mean, I know, I
like it. I just got to see how expensive it is.
I've already seen mold free coffee on Amazon, a little
bit more expensive than MOLDI coffee.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I guess that's what we're calling moldy coffee.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Hi today going to be eighty six coming up on
the show today. There were three dudes in San Antonio
that if anybody around our age saw them, all sitting
together would freak out yep. Right, I would have freaked

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Is your game that evening.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
If you've not been to a Texas Stars game, she
grabs some tickets. It's a lot of fun. Tricia and
I went a couple of years ago. I went to
a couple games. J D and I went last year too,
and it's a lot of fun. I had a great time.
It was my first hockey game.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
I saw a fight, I saw blood and a puck
slammed up against the glass in front of me.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
It was perfect.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Three dollar beer night. That's what the hockey fan needs.
Three dollars domestic drafts all night long, courtesy about Light.

franchise cosplayers, photo ops, themed concessions, and a whole lot more.
Get your tickets for the Texas Stars Longhorns three point
fifteen on the road at Mississippi State.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
That is I think that's in Starkville, Mississippi.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Sounds like a scary town.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yeah, So hopefully Longhorns can get another win this weekend.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
The stories we Love.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Three super iconic faces stopped by a restaurant in San
Antonio over the weekend. Guahios, Have you ever been there?
Delicious authentic Mexican food. Do you recognize these names? Bonsie,
Ralph and Pozzi?

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (07:18):
From Happy Days?

Speaker 2 (07:20):
What?

Speaker 5 (07:21):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (07:21):
All three of them.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Henry Winkler, Donnie Most and Anson Williams are in town
in San Antonio for Comic Con and so while they're
waiting to go to Comic Con. They stopped by Guahios
and eight loved the food, took pictures with fans, signed
them menu, and are expected really to be seen all
over San Antonio in the next few days, like at

(07:45):
the Alamo and all the iconic places to go because
they're in town.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
For a while.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Let me ask you this, when you said that, did
it make you feel good to know that Phonsie, Ralph
and Pozzi were hanging still hanging out together all these
years later?

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Because we see Henry Winkler from time to time.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Yeah, you know, but the other guys, I mean I
would if I saw Donnie Most, I'd be like, you
still got it?

Speaker 3 (08:11):
I still got it? Ralph is he Ralph Mouth? Yeah?
Yeah yeah?

Speaker 1 (08:18):
And Anton Williams has gone on to be like a
big time producer and director. I yeah, he stayed in
the business. But I just love knowing did Paula Petro
Lunga show up?

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (08:28):
It was just those three, just those three, but I
mean iconic.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
How fun would it have been?

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Just can you imagine walking in and sitting down and
being like, is that like just sitting together at a table,
Like what's wrong with my brain right now.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
And everyone's got anyone our age probably has a favorite
Happy Days episode and it's probably all the same. When
Fonzi had to break the curse and jump the the
in the parking lot on the motorcycle.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Oh, in the parking lot at the diner.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Yeah remember that?

Speaker 1 (09:01):
Yeah that was And then the Malachi remember the Malachi
Brothers JB the demo what do they call that? When
they crashed into the cars the French the demolition Derby.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
I liked the episode where uh Fanzie was temporarily blind
for some reason and they took apart his motorcycle. Yes,
he had to put it together, blinded it and he
did it.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
He did it.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Anytime it was the Malacchi Brothers episode, I was a
little bit scared. It was the same feeling as like
when something when Kiss was on, I was a little
bit scared. Do you guys remember when he thought he
was allergic to girls.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
And it turned out it was the perfume that's right
with his cologne or something. Yes.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Then then when remember and Lavernon Shirley showed up.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
Yeah, when they crossed over. That always blew my mind.
When they were on different shows.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Yeah, they were blind dates I think, or something like
Fanzi was going out with Laverne and Richie got set
up with Sureley. That's when we met Lenny and Squiggy
too got.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
We're going down the road here. We're on the happy
Days road right now? Wow, that's funny. So they're just just.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
Hanging out, San Antonio, I'm wrong with that.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
That's the story we love.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Coming up next on the show, What your Shoes Say
about You?

Speaker 2 (10:25):
All right?

Speaker 1 (10:26):
I think girls are way more perceptive on this than
guys are. I think so too, But we'll break it
down coming up, Hang on.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Meat, Extra Cash in your Life.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
The thousand dollars Payday is back this morning at.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
Nine one on three point one, Austin's eighties station.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Hey, if you're a Brandy listener, thanks for being here.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
You just found it.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
The people every day finding the show, it's a little
more effort to find. And a lot of people I
run into JB. This has happened to you, like, hey,
what are you doing now? Like on the radio?

Speaker 5 (10:56):
Oh Wally, Yeah, they haven't found the station. I know
it's frustrating, it is, but once they find that, they
find it. We bumped into someone at dinner at Jack
Allen's last week that listens every day, which was very
maybe feel good Keith, right, Keith, Yeah, so shout out
to Keith. So did you guys see that the shoe
company on is getting sued by customers who claim their

(11:18):
shoes squeak too loudly.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
And it's embarrassing for them.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
That's like the most popular brand now, Yeah, I have
not heard of them?

Speaker 2 (11:29):
What's what? Why?

Speaker 5 (11:30):
So are they so popular? I have, I've had several
pair of them. They're just really comfortable in decent design.
It's a Swiss shoe company, m hm, and they they
just I hadn't heard of it until like eight or
nine years ago. I've probably bought ten pairs since then. Oh,
I've only known about him for a few years. I

(11:51):
feel like they were direct competitors with Hoka, like you
were either or Hoka. Those are the two big ones
for a while. Well, yeah, I was just reading how
like those two brands in particular. You mentioned how they
have taken a huge chunk out of Nike running. No,
Nike's in a million things, right, They're not right, right,
but they people forget Nike started as a running brand,

(12:14):
that's right. That was the origin of Nike, and they've
they've lost that audience was what the article was about.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
But they aren't. They are They can be squeaky. That's
that's funny.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Basically they're saying if you own a pair, you're basically
saying I like being a loud walker. But they all
there's some other things that your shoe brand says about you.
For instance, if you if you're rocking a pair of Vans,
you're telling the world I sell weed. There you definitely
least smoke it Chuck Taylor's. I can't believe the popularity

(12:50):
of the Chuck Taylor.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Those shoes have been around since our dads were teenagers.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Yeah, they were big in the fifties.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Yeah, and now they've got all different colors and it's incredible.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
I don't think when they designed the Chuck Taylor they
thought that young girls would be wearing them.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
I agree, Yeah, it's cute.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Well, if you're rocking the Chuck Taylor's, basically what you're
saying is I want to look like an extra from
the movie Hoosiers, Birkenstocks or your jam.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
Which your my daughter wears them and where them back
for them too. That kind of ebbed and flowed. Yea,
young people are wearing them with socks.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
JB.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
She told me that if you can see your toes,
that's embarrassing. I was like, what wow.

Speaker 5 (13:36):
That was always that was always that that uncool dad, Yeah,
to wear sandals and socks.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Now it's the thing interesting. If you're wearing the Birkenstocks,
you're scream into the world. Ask me about my vegan
by it.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Do you remember we used to have the billboards for
the road Austin Radio where it was a a Birkenstock
with a spur.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
On the back. That's right, that's school. Yeah, right, that
was so awesome.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
If you wear Doc Martins, basically you're saying, my ears
aren't the only things that are pierced.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Those have made come back too.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
They have. Our daughter's got a pair of the boots.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
She's got the black boots, and she likes to wear
them with dresses.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
That's the thing.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Like when she was in a homecoming court when she
was a freshman, cute, little short, sparkly dressed with her
black was.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
It her Doc Martins?

Speaker 1 (14:30):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (14:31):
Her black chuck Tailor's Yeah, that was That's what women
were doing during the initial grunge hair.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
In their early nineties. Everything's coming and Doc Martins, you.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Know what you're telling the world if you're rocking a
pair of crocs, suck it fashion.

Speaker 5 (14:48):
I've not given in to crocs yet, have you, guys?
People had to.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
I had to because JB I'm super cool and I
have plantar fasciitis in one of my.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Feets and my shoes.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
My foot doctor he's like, I am prescribing crocs to
you to wear in the house because howse shoes don't
walk barefoot? Barefoot to walk and crocs, and I will
let you know that they absolutely helped. Really, Yes, I'm
not the only one who's been prescribed crops.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
But have the crocs of yours ever seen outside?

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Only in the driveway to get something out of my
car or if I'm driving our daughter somewhere. I do
not walk around in public in my crocs. Yeah, I
have a pair. They were given to me. I refuse
to wear them.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
I think our daughter gave him to you.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
She did.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
I've just got them in a garage sale, which makes
it even worse. But my buddy, one of my very
very best friends, More McDonough shout out to more Way
ahead of everybody on the crocs he's.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
Been when he played golf and them Yeah, yeah, it'll show,
which is which is funny because imagine getting paired up
with him on a golf course and a guy rolls
up in crocs. He's one of the best golfers in town, right, yeah, yeah, yeah.
They're probably looking to each other going, look at this clown, right,

(16:09):
and then he just rips it down the middle.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
They're like, oh, okay, never mind.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
And then he pairs his crocs with a pair of
cargo shorts and a Agellan fishing shirt yep.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
And he has his dress crocks, his golf crocks in
his everyday crocks.

Speaker 5 (16:25):
Yeah, and he basically dresses like a fisherman for golf.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Yeah, exactly, exactly.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
And I think he finished in the top ten in
the City Championship last year, which is there's a lot
of good golf. By the way, I didn't know your
buddy Brian Young was such.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
A good golfer.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
Yeah, he's he's like a scratch golfer and added everything
isn't he You know, you probably know we probably knowed
collectively four or five of the top ten that would
make top ten in the City Golf tournament.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
More, your friend more.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
You just mentioned your friend Phil Brian, He's a long
time friend of mine.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Your buddy Brock. Would he make it?

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Yeah, he'd be in the top ten. Then Dean and
Keith Lunquist.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
I don't know if you know those guys, but I
do are great players too, so aw and I played
with all those guys and it was incredibly humiliating. Finally,
the tip and the things your shoe brand says about you.
We were talking about Hokah just a little bit ago,
and I want a pair of Hokahs, And it's one
of those things. I'm just having a tough time spending
one hundred and fifty bucks on it.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
I think he can spend one hundred and seventy five.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
I bought.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
I bought a pair of them, and I was like what,
I didn't ask the price and I got sticker shock.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Our daughter got a pair for her birthday from her
grandmother and said they were a game changer.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Yeah for running.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Yeah, but they what they say to the whole world
is I like the power Walk while listening to true
crime podcasts, but I definitely want a pair of those Hokus.
I'd like a pair that don't have the big giant
hokah written on the side, but they don't make those.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
No, they want you to know you're wearing hokahs. You
want everybody to know.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
Well, that's it. Do us a solid and copy and
paste the link to this episode and send it to
a friend or too.
