Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good John Tothigre, and I just wanted to let you
know that when I was Israel.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
I'll so you know this.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
When I was in Israel, they even have people downstreams
some work in that show in Israel.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Well, they're not working.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
They're actually working for IDF.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
They do tape people. Idea.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Have a good weekend.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Everyone.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Caution, you are about to experience the taxpayer relief shot
segment on the situation with Michael Brown. Caution, you are
about to experience the taxpayer relief shot segment on the
situation with Michael Brown. We do not necessarily relish the
death of any criminal, but we do celebrate our God
given and constitutional right to self defense in the event

(00:47):
that the criminal becomes DRT. The taxpayers spared the cost
of public defenders, court costs, incarceration, and continued parole supervision.
As the Sheriff of Santa Rosa County, Florida says insert
audio here, or Sheriff Grady of Pope County says, insert
audio here. You have been warned listen at your own

(01:11):
risks Mike.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Well, there is no Mike and currently there is no
John Caldera. When we first learned that Michael might be
taking the day off because of a supposed root canal.
John Caldera agreed to do this shift on only one
condition is that he would not do the taxpayer leaf
shot hour, because as we've seen John in the past

(01:36):
flip fop from being a gun hating lunatic that he
was to now a gun waving lunatic that he is now, well,
he's officially flipped back to not waving any guns around.
He absolutely hates guns. Did not want to celebrate the
death of a thug doing something stupid. So here I
am doing the taxpayer leaf shots for you today. And yes,

(01:59):
let's go excuse me, go ahead and take care of
the insert audio here portions.

Speaker 5 (02:05):
Somebody's breaking in your house here, more than welcome to
shoot them. In centaoise accounting, we prefer that you do.
Actually hopefully you'll save the taxpayers money.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
And then there's here's another good one.

Speaker 6 (02:15):
I would tell them, if you value your life, you
probably shouldn't do that in Polk County because the people
of Polk County like guns.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
They have guns.

Speaker 6 (02:22):
I encourage them to own guns, and they're going to
be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded. And
if you try to break into their homes to.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Steal, to set fires.

Speaker 6 (02:31):
I'm highly recommending they blow you back out of the
house with their guns, so leave the community alone.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
And yes, as we all understand that this is probably
meant to be Swiss cheese, but as a talkbacker or
guber texter had once said, yeah, he probably actually meant
grated cheese, because this guber talker texter said that he
spent some time at Vietnam and some of those firearms
definitely will make you look like grated cheese.

Speaker 7 (02:58):
I would highly suing jet that if a looter breaks
into your home, comes into your home while you're there
to steal stuff, that you take your gun and you
shoot him. You shoot him so that he looks like
grated cheese, because you know what, that's one leader that
won't break into anyone else's home.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
I'm also very partial to this one. This was part
of a news story that had come up, and it
just seems just feels right.

Speaker 8 (03:25):
His sister, Rochelle, acknowledged his actions but criticized the employee's response, stating, yes,
he was robbing them, but that clerk shouldn't have shot him.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
They should have called the police, should have called the police,
but also stop loser. It seems pretty simple to me.
But let's go ahead and get to these taxpayer relief shots.
I got to give a thanks to our associate producer
Agent Jeda, who sends all of these over Caveat. Like Michael,
Michael does not listen to these prior to listening to

(03:55):
them on air. I unfortunately or fortunately do get to
listen to them first, but I am in the process
of doing other producing duties, so I can't give my
full attention to them at the time I record them
in So let's just take care of these now. A
number two labels A number two of our associate producer
police shoot and kill a man wanted for the abduction

(04:16):
of his children. So this this may be a celebrate
right now.

Speaker 9 (04:21):
So all of the questions relating to the homicide and
questions related to the Amberler, we'll be investigated by the
plot kind of Shure's office.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
So can you confirm it George Manning them, Yes.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
We can confirm that the suspect by George mann the
third is deceasion.

Speaker 10 (04:40):
Also, George, is this the same George C.

Speaker 11 (04:42):
Manning that had a voluntary manslaughter charge.

Speaker 12 (04:45):
In two thousand e I can't confirm with him.

Speaker 13 (04:48):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Also, where's the blue Hondai that was told that's all
under investigation.

Speaker 14 (04:55):
I'm going to can how many officers apart, how many
officers far work?

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Oh, we can't say how many officers fire. The officers,
State police and members have only a security investigations. Well, okay,
there you go. Yeah, so don't don't try and kidnap
your own kids here, bad things will happen. Next up,
we've got six police officers shoot and kill a thug

(05:20):
armed with a gun.

Speaker 15 (05:24):
A deadly at January shooting in Gringle County was rule
justified by the Sheriff's office tonight. A first look at
surveillance and body camera footage leading up to the incident.
But first, we want to warn you some of the
footage you're about to see maybe hard for some to watch.
A deadly at January shooting in Gringle County was rule

(05:46):
justified by the Sheriff's office tonight. A first look at
surveillance and body camera footage leading up to the incident.
The first, we want to warn you some of the
footage you're about to see maybe hard for some to watch.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Put the money in the bag, now this.

Speaker 15 (06:01):
Here is how deputies say the incident began. Surveillance footage
captured at a convenience store in Pickens County shows the
moments what is believed to be forty five year old
Sean Skates accused of robbing a store clerk at gunpoint.
Authority say Skates fled the scene after that, taking cash
another items, opening an investigation that led them to Greenville County.

(06:22):
Investigators say they received information the man frequented hotels on
the south end of the county, and that's where deputies
patrolling the area say they found the man, who was
armed with a gun.

Speaker 12 (06:33):
Deputy's patrolling the area located a person believed to be
Skates sitting in a black Nissan Pathfinder. The Nissan was
parked in front of Room one, P fifty eight at
the Greenville Inn and Suites on South Plevenberg Drive. Deputies
moved in and positioned their vehicles to prevent Skates from leaving.
As the deputies exited their vehicles, the suspect quickly backed

(06:54):
up before putting the car.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
And drive and driving forward.

Speaker 12 (06:57):
At this time, a deputy drove his vehicle forward, making
contact with skates vehicle. Subsequently pinning his vehicle against the pole.
Deputies began giving Skates verbal commands and observed him reaching
for something inside the vehicle. Moments later, Skates exited the
vehicle armed with a pistol and began to run. Having

(07:17):
knowledge that Skates just committed a violent arm robbery and
thus exhibited a propensity to put others' lives in danger,
six of the deputies fired at and struck him.

Speaker 15 (07:29):
Deputy C. Skates was taken to the hospital, where he
later died from his injuries. An internal investigation found all
six deputies involved were justified and their actions sled is
still investigating.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Now, I've never tried to do this impression before, but
I am going to try and do my best. Michael
Brown right now, that's pretty and good taxpayer release shot.
Right there sens a little sling bladish, but you know
that's Michael Brown foy. I am particularly partial to the
international taxpayer relief shots because you know, we here in
the United States are not the only country that has

(08:02):
guns and a quote unquote gun problem. So here's an
international taxpay ely shot. Please shoot and kill two wanted thugs.

Speaker 16 (08:11):
It's another crime scene here in the West of how
teng and this is a separate crime scene where a
shootout has taken place between the suspects and police. You
understand that the shooting happened in the early hours of
the morning, and of course what we do understand is
that this was a crime led intelligence operation that involved
several units within the steps. Obviously they had followed up

(08:33):
on some information regarding these suspects who are suspected to
be involved in many other crimes other than ATM bombings
in Houting and neighboring countries.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
So it is quite still active.

Speaker 16 (08:45):
We're seeing forensic teams here still on the scene. We're
not allowed to show you the other side to recon
this is where the two suspects align right now, the
forensic teams are still busy processing that's seen taking photos
of this particular scene. But let's get more details from
the National Deputy Commissioner of Crime Detention, that is Track Sibia.

(09:05):
I thank you very much a Deputy Commissioner for your time.
Let's just first start by what led to this particular
operation and you coming here Indonesia and what if you
tat that so far in terms of this particular suspects.

Speaker 17 (09:20):
Thank you very much and could day to the viewers
at home. First and foremost, let me command our officials
for the stealing job they have done here. This is
one of those multi disciplinary team teams that are operating here.
We received information here last night from our intelligence structures

(09:42):
and that there is a syndicate that it's operating, especially
hitting the ATMs in different coaracs. So they were on
their way going to hit an ATM at at prote
you south. So then transpired there is that after they
plugged their explosives, then the police came and then they
when they saw the police, they start that driving off

(10:04):
the scene. The police gave chase and the shootout ensued
between them and the police, and then the police managed
to at least shoot and kill one of them, and
then one and two of them are critically hinjured in
the hospital and two has been I've been at us said.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
This was big. I really don't think I can play
this sound bit enough, loser. It's from the movie Liar Liar,
where Jim Carrey is a lawyer, and unfortunately this is
edited for radio and not exactly what is played in
the movie. So this is the best that I can
do for what we've got here.

Speaker 18 (10:42):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
This next taxpayer leaf shot man who shot two of
his neighbors administers his own taxpayer releef shot.

Speaker 10 (10:49):
The investigators are trying to piece together what led to
a shooting here in the Bayville section of Berkeley Township.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
It was yesterday afternoon.

Speaker 10 (10:59):
News twelve New Jersey Jim Murdoch is joining us live
at the scene. Now, Jim, you've been speaking with neighbors.
What have you learned here this afternoon?

Speaker 8 (11:08):
Nick, we know the person who did the shooting lived
at the home you see behind me. In fact, you
can still see where police gained access.

Speaker 7 (11:16):
To the home.

Speaker 8 (11:17):
The door, the front door completely blown out yesterday afternoon,
so we know this all began around four forty five
when Ocean County prosecutors say the homeowner, John Adamo, opened
fire on his next door neighbors, shot a man outside
of his home, and then that man's wife while she

(11:38):
was inside of her own home. Those two victims were
both flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center and they
are listed in critical condition at this hour this afternoon.
When police arrived here on the scene yesterday, a two
and a half hour stand off ensued between police and Adamo.
According to the prosecutor's office again ended up having to

(12:01):
blow up that front door, and when they went inside,
they found Adamo dead inside a bathroom where he had
shot himself. Several neighbors tell us there had been a
long running dispute between the two homeowners, and police had
been called to these homes multiple times, according to law
enforcement sources. Neighbors tell us the two victims, the husband

(12:23):
and wife, are prominent members of this community. Neighbors say
they are shocked at this level of violence in a
region that never experiences these types of crimes. You'll hear
from some of those neighbors coming up. We'll have more
on the ongoing investigation a little bit later on this evening.
That's the latest here in the Baybille section of Berkeley

(12:45):
Township and Ocean County.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
We're live. I'm Jim Murdoch, News twelve. A. A bad
thing happened to a bad guy. I feel so sorry
mother Sue's police officer who shot and killed her wanted
fella son. I can honestly say I do not recall
recording this one in So let's find out together how
this goes.

Speaker 19 (13:05):
And more big news we're learning about today. The local
mom finding a wrongful death lawsuit against the San Antonio
police officer. Her son, Adrian san Martin was shot dead
by an officer in July twenty twenty three, and bodycam
footage shows him running from police. Cansfiserl Star of Meyer
shares with us what is in that lawsuit?

Speaker 20 (13:25):
The attorney's representing Raquel Send Martin claimed excessive deadly force
was used on her son Adrian when he was running
from police with a gun in his hand.

Speaker 10 (13:34):
Adrian, let me see yours.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Well, that's your first problem right there.

Speaker 7 (13:40):
He's not good.

Speaker 12 (13:41):
He's not a god.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
He's not a god.

Speaker 20 (13:42):
This is police body camera footage what happened moments before
San Martin's life was taken. The shooting happened on July sixteen,
twenty twenty three, when police got the tip San Martin
was at a Northeast Side hotel.

Speaker 12 (13:56):
Which individual was wanted on multiple felony warrants.

Speaker 2 (13:59):
The most recent out standing warrans.

Speaker 21 (14:01):
Fell in a possession of firearm, a sohole, family violence,
invading arrest unauthorized to a vehicle, two agg assault warrange
for the deadly weapon.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
After again, I don't think I can play this enough.
Stop loser, how many different charges were on this kid
at this point in time? How many did he list off?

Speaker 20 (14:22):
Surveiling San Martin for a few hours, a detective tried
to make an arrest, but he ran away gun in hand.
San Martin was running across the access road where another
patrol car was in front of him. Officer Joseph Warren
was in the driver's seat and fired at San Martin.

(14:44):
San Martin was shot in the head and died after
being taken to a local hospital. He was thirty years old.
Off the body camera footage took up nearly four hours
of video.

Speaker 22 (14:54):
I don't think they should have rushed him. Everybody guns
out the way that they did. He wasn't the perfect
law by an outstanding citizen. Clearly, despite everything, he was
a great human being. He had a great.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Heart and the yeah, do we need to go over
that list of charges he's got already.

Speaker 20 (15:11):
Lawsuit attorneys argue San Martin never pointed his gun at
an officer. The lawsuit also alleges to the officers running
after San Martin didn't fire their guns and that Warren's
actions didn't warrant at lee force to claim damages. This
case will go before a jury Carls Sateemaier Kent's five.

Speaker 19 (15:31):
And just hours ago we got a response to this
lawsuit from the City Attorney's office. They said, quote, the
City of San Antonio has not been served with this lawsuit.
We will review the allegations made, research the facts of
the case, and address accordingly.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Now the risk of doing another Michael Brown impression here,
that's pretty dango dexbery leave out right there. I am
very curious as to what his thoughts would be on
this one. I'm contemplating saving this one for next one
next week, and we'll see what his thoughts are are
on all the excessive force apparently, you know, shooting a
guy that's got a long rap sheet that's running away

(16:07):
with gun in hand. All right, Next up, I'll get
to as much as it as I can before we
get to the break. Police shoot and kill an armed
man with a gun in River City. The home depot
parking lot breaking news on.

Speaker 23 (16:22):
Staten Island where a man is dead now being shot
by police and a home depot parking lot auth already
say officers were forced to open fire after the man
waighed and then pointed a gun at police. Natalie Dodgridge
Live in the Tottenville.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Section with more Nalie.

Speaker 24 (16:37):
Well, Chris, I'm going to take you right out to
the scene right now.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
You can still see.

Speaker 24 (16:40):
Officers here investigating and also evidence markers, dozens of them
covering the parking lot. Police have centered their investigation around
this jeep the suspect was in.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
You could see bullet.

Speaker 24 (16:52):
Holes in the side. They are still trying to determine
a motive why a man was here firing shots in
a parking lot.

Speaker 25 (17:00):
Our officers ran towards gunfire and bravely confronted danger.

Speaker 24 (17:07):
At five twenty Thursday morning, police responded to a nine
to one one call of a man with a gun.
Officers say he was inside a jeep in a home
depot parking lot.

Speaker 25 (17:15):
As they arrived, they heard multiple shots being fired. The
officers exited their vehicles and encountered a fifty five year
old male armed with a firearm.

Speaker 24 (17:28):
Please say the man refused to drop his weapon despite
repeated commands, all captured on body camera. Instead, the NYPD
says he pointed his weapon at police, forcing them to.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
Who pointed his weapon at police? I wonder what happened next?

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Het caution, you were about to experience the textpayer Relief
Shots segment on the situation with Michael Brown. We did
not necessarily relished the death of the crown. We do
celebrate the god given a constitutional right to self defense

(18:05):
and sitting the taxpayer the expense of three hots.

Speaker 26 (18:08):
And a cot.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
So all you punks out there, if you're thinking about
breaking into someone's home, that person may have a forty
four magnum, which is the most powerful hang in in
the world and will blow you clean back out the door.
Still thinking about breaking the law, then you have to
ask yourself this question.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Do I feel lucky?

Speaker 22 (18:29):
Buck?

Speaker 27 (18:29):
Do you?

Speaker 23 (18:31):
Dragon?

Speaker 9 (18:32):
They said on that one clip that the police are
being sued for using excessive deadly force. What's the difference
between excessive deadly force and playing deadly force? Is that
the difference between bang bang and shoot him until it.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Looks like grated geese? Just ask him? Yeah, I caught
that too, but I was going to leave that to
the lawyer Michael Brown figure out exactly what that means.
But if I had to guess, it would be something
along the way of the Princess Bride, mostly dead, slightly alive.
And let's not forget why we do these taxpayer relief shots.

Speaker 6 (19:09):
I would tell them, if you value your life, you
probably shouldn't do that in Polk County because the people
of Polk County like guns.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
They have guns.

Speaker 6 (19:17):
I encourage them to own guns, and they're going to
be in their homes tonight with their guns loaded. And
if you try to break into their homes to steal
to set fires, I'm highly recommending they blow you back
out of the house with their guns. So leave the

Speaker 5 (19:31):
Somebody's breaking in your house, you're more than welcome to
shoot them. In centai's accounting, we prefer that you do. Actually,
hopefully you'll save taxpayers money.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
And of course the grated cheese coming.

Speaker 7 (19:41):
I would highly suggest that if a looter breaks into
your home, comes into your home while you're there to
steal stuff, that you take your gun and you shoot him.
You shoot him so that he looks like grated cheese,
because you know what, that's one looter that won't break
into anyone else's home.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Not exactly wrong, All right, let's get back to it.
Please shoot and kill man armed with a gun at
a home depot parking lot.

Speaker 23 (20:06):
Breaking news on Staten Island where a man is dead

Please say the man refused to drop his weapon despite

Speaker 25 (21:24):
Five uniformed officers discharged their firearms. The mail was struck
numerous times.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
A Smith and.

Speaker 25 (21:34):
Wesson thirty eight caliber revolver was recovered from the scene.

Speaker 24 (21:40):
Officers performed life saving measures, but the suspect was pronounced
dead at Staten Island University Hospital. No officers were hurt,
but they were taken to the hospital for evaluation. People
who came to shop were stunned.

Speaker 18 (21:52):
It's crazy because at five o'clock in the morning, didn't
really that many people. They opened s six like they say,
But you know, I mean, it's a shame that this happened.
He was here for other reasons, you know, karying a
gun like that.

Speaker 24 (22:03):
Authorities don't believe he had any direct connection to this
home depot.

Speaker 10 (22:07):
It is early, but.

Speaker 25 (22:08):
This individual does have a documented arrest history with the
police department here, But it is.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Still early in the investigation.

Speaker 24 (22:16):
Now, and at this point, the home depot, the parking
lot here remained closed. Detectives say they're reviewing body camera footage.
They're also reviewing surveillance video from here in the parking lot,
and that's the latest here from the Tottenville section of
Staten Islands. Natalie Dudridge, CBS News New York.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
Natalie, hmm, point your gun at an officer. I wonder
what's gonna happen. I'm gonna jump to an award winner here,
Agent Jeta. This says, not yet fatal copper thief. But
why are you going to give us one that's not
yet fatal? Awesome breaking news this morning.

Speaker 28 (22:54):
A man is in critical condition after trying to steal
copper wires from a transformer box, live right now in
Bustleton and Peko troop crews that are working at the
scene right now.

Speaker 10 (23:05):
NBC tens back to those shows in Bustleton with more
on his injuries and the impact this has had on
the neighborhood.

Speaker 29 (23:12):
This is where it all happened, right near a torn
down KFC by Grant and the Boulevard. There's the transformer
box right there. The victim is in the hospital right now,
in critical condition with severe burns to his face, neck,
chest and arms.

Speaker 21 (23:25):
This happened a little after ten thirty last night.

Speaker 29 (23:27):
Philly police say the man cut the lock off a
transformer box in an attempt to steal some copper wire inside,
and when he did that, he cut into a high
voltage cable and that caused the severe electric shock and
the burns. It also started a small fire, police say
the man who's in his forties or fifties. They also
found that man's cutting tool here as well. It was

(23:50):
just not a problem for this area here, it was
also a problem for other businesses and residents around this location.

Speaker 30 (23:57):
Pico has since turned the power back on because when
this high voltage cable was cut, it shut off the
electricity to multiple businesses between the transformer box and Grand Avenue.
According to Pico, it affected the power and a power

(24:19):
outage of fifteen hundred customers, and.

Speaker 29 (24:22):
That power was turned back on within about thirty minutes. Again,
this man is severely burned and in critical condition at
Jefferson Hospital right now in Bustleton and Mantalusha.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
NBC ten News Today, stupid games, when stupid prizes. I mean,
you know, he wasn't endangering anybody else or an officer
or anything. So am I going to be one of
those guys? It's like, well, should he have died? Should
he die?

Speaker 30 (24:48):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
El let's see about this, Okay, Well, this guy on
the other hand, trying to steal copper as well. We
may have gotten the taxpayer relief shock.

Speaker 14 (25:00):
Back in our area.

Speaker 31 (25:01):
In Contra Costa County, tonight, police and firefighters are trying
to determine if an attempted copper theft killed a man overnight.
It started with reports of an explosion in Richmond, and
some neighbors say they actually aren't surprised by this incident.
Here's NBCBA Areas Lena Jones a.

Speaker 27 (25:17):
Very unnerving wake up call near the area of Cutting
Boulevard in Second Street in Richmond this morning. Martin Rickert
was out his business, heard the boom and called police.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
It was loud enough and it shook the windows.

Speaker 27 (25:32):
Richmond Police say they got calls reporting a copper theft
and explosion in the area. When firefighters arrived, they found
a man's body in an underground PG and E vault,
submerged in about.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Five feet of water.

Speaker 27 (25:44):
Investigators say it appears the man was electrocuted, triggering a
power outage.

Speaker 32 (25:49):
Looks like he was trying to traverse on the makeshift catwalk,
came to contact with some unenergized electrical and that's what
caused the issue. There was no actual fire or you know,
start of explosion in that sense, as far as that anterruption.

Speaker 27 (26:02):
People who work in this area say they are sad
but not surprised that this happened, noting that this area
is known to have a lot of unhoused individuals and
they often see them going into manholes like the one described.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
They're digging down there.

Speaker 29 (26:15):
They're actually making man holes and trying to get the wire,
but they're also opening.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
Up the whole.

Speaker 23 (26:20):
They USEDU told be you know, they would take something
and disappear, but now they're living there.

Speaker 27 (26:25):
Rickert says he's witnessed and reported people going into the
vault multiple times before. In fact, he claims it happens
almost daily. A witness told police this time they saw
three men go into the twelve foot vault, but only
two come out.

Speaker 30 (26:39):
Fire fight or see.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
This sounds like thunderdome stuff right there. Two men enter,
one man leaves.

Speaker 27 (26:46):
They found no evidence of vandalism, but police suspect the
man was involved and the reported copper theft.

Speaker 18 (26:52):
It's unfortunate that these things happen, but I'm really not
surprised because of like I said, when we dealing with home.

Speaker 31 (26:59):
But it's trying to That.

Speaker 27 (27:00):
Vault supplies power to the majority of downtown and South Richmond,
and the incident cut power to just over fifteen hundred customers.
Firefighters also say recovering the man's body took hours because
of the complicated layout of the vault where this all happened.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
There's a highly technical recovery.

Speaker 32 (27:18):
There's numerous hazards in the hole. It's not just a
confined space hazard. There's an electrical hazard. There's an atanglent
hazard with the structure that was put in there.

Speaker 27 (27:26):
Power was restored to all customers around seven this morning.
No word on the name of the man who was
killed or any arrest in the case in Richmond. Felina Jones,
NBC Bay Area News.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Again, he's not really endangering other people at the moment
in time, So do I feel bad for him? Maybe
a little. Do I think it's hilarious, Yeah, Unlike Michael,
I'm going to actually take a break on time so
that we can get to other taxpayer relief shots on
the other side of these commercials here, So taxpayer relief
shots coming up next.

Speaker 14 (27:58):
Caution you about to expel aliens to taxpayer relief shot
segment on the situation with Michael Brown.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Well, we do not.

Speaker 14 (28:05):
Necessarily right it's the death of any girly man criminal.
We do celebrate the god given and constitutional right to
self defense and saving the taxpayer money, something I wasn't
able to do when I.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Was govenator of California. So when a puny.

Speaker 14 (28:19):
Batman breaks into your home, don't let him go.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Terminate the puny bad man.

Speaker 14 (28:24):
And when you do, make sure that the last words
he hears are asta la vista baby.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
All right, Let's see how well I time this all out.
Another award winner home owner shoots and kills two thugs
who returned to his home.

Speaker 11 (28:37):
We have tried to warn the criminals in this city
we will no longer stand idly by and be victimized
by your acts of criminality. We are going to stand up,
we are going to defend ourselves, and we are going
to take our city back.

Speaker 26 (28:51):
Enough is enough. Apparently, today one Detroit man took matters
into his own hands to defend his home.

Speaker 4 (28:57):
Someone tried to break into his house last Friday.

Speaker 13 (28:59):
He heared them off when they showed up again today,
though it took a deadly turn.

Speaker 26 (29:03):
Heeven' actually news reporter Kim Russell is live at the
home and Kim. Will this be ruled as justifiable homicide
or do we know?

Speaker 13 (29:11):
That is the big question. When you talk to people
who live here on Dexter, it's mind blowing. It seems
like almost everyone has been the victim of a burglar
at some point in time, so they really emphasize with
their neighbor who lives in this house and grabbed that
gun today and they are hoping that it is ruled
the justifiable homicide. But when you talk to legal experts,
there's a gray area and it's not a yes or

(29:33):
no answer when you ask can you shoot a burglar?
It happened while the sun was up and neighbors were
out and about The man who lives here often would
have been at work during the day working for the city,
but he was home when he says he heard a noise.
He saw two men trying to break into his house.
At some point he called nine one one, He grabbed
his gun, and he confronted the burglars.

Speaker 28 (29:55):
If we could count on anybody, it's ourselves and God.

Speaker 13 (29:59):
A neighbor who only told us her name is Francis,
says she was glad it ended how it did the
two thieves shot dead outside? Now the question is will
this be ruled a justifiable homicide or could her neighbor
be in legal trouble.

Speaker 11 (30:12):
Chief Craig has often said, you know, good Americans that
are legally in possession of firearms are defending their homes
and they have the right to do that, and we
stand behind them and doing so.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
But police still.

Speaker 13 (30:24):
Had to take the man in and question him for hours.
The reason legal experts say they have to make sure
he believed he was defending himself from an intrusion that
threatened his life. If he didn't fear for his life
when he shot the burglars, it would not be justified.
The prosecutor will review his statements, but police say, at
this point it appears to be justifiable.

Speaker 11 (30:44):
He is a legal CPL holder. He is well within
his right to defend himself.

Speaker 32 (30:50):
At that point, I think Gabie law in the land
ought to be back in him and anybody.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Else up that put in that position. I like that lady.

Speaker 13 (31:01):
Now, after please drop the man off at his home.
I did knock on the door to see if he
was willing to talk. He did not answer. He's definitely
been through a lot today. Neighbors say he's a good neighbor,
he keeps an eye on this neighborhood, that he's a
hard worker, that he works for the city repairing cars,
that he's an all around good guy, and they have
his back reporting live in De Droit Kim Russell seven
Action News.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Well, there you go, that's not too shabby. Let's see
if we can fit this last one in here. Another
award winner homeowner shoots and kills armed thug.

Speaker 19 (31:29):
Ball Year's homeowner kills a man who he says was
threatening his family's safety.

Speaker 21 (31:33):
Can have a last night on West Homestead Drive that's
off General.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Meyer and Algiers.

Speaker 15 (31:37):
WDSHU Reporter Addy Ceham spoke with neighbors where the deadly
shooting happened.

Speaker 21 (31:41):
A quiet morning Thursday, following Wednesday nights deadly shooting at
this home on West Homestead Drive.

Speaker 33 (31:48):
It is the days we live in, man. You know,
I don't understand it.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
They see the telephone line right.

Speaker 21 (31:54):
Stanley Vincent lives directly behind that home where police say
a masked man walked up to a twenty eight year
old man and his thirty eight year old wife on
their back patio and demanded money at gunpoint, then ordered
the couple inside their home, where there were three children,
ages six, thirteen, and fourteen, and at some point police
say the man was able to get his own gun

(32:16):
and fatally shot the twenty five year old intruder. I
guess he did exactly what I would have did to
anybody else trying to protect a faun. Larry Levy lives
just a couple doors down from where the deadly shooting occurred.
He said crime has been on a steady rise and
his once quiet subdivision.

Speaker 12 (32:34):
I hope it don't get to the point where everybody
has to own themselves, but you know, it might might
come to that.

Speaker 21 (32:40):
Both Levy and Vincent have lived on Homestead Drive for
many years. Broken street lights, they say, leave their neighborhood
pitch black at night, and both agreed the shooting was justified.

Speaker 33 (32:53):
If he tussled with him or rasseled with him, or
he shot him with him, because you don't know if
the gun had would load it or not, you know,
but he come into the house, you don't know if
he was your family's killed everybody in the house. You know,
you feel it for your life. You have to defend
yourself in your family.

Speaker 21 (33:05):
Man both retired military are in the process of rebuilding
their neighborhood's watch program in hopes of preventing situations similar
to what unfolded Wednesday nine. Once the ANOPD completes its investigation,
the DA's office will take a look at the case
and then make a final determination on whether to prosecute

(33:25):
or not.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Oh, I think I've got enough time for one more
texpery relief. Shall let me see if you have that
one real quick. Let me see if I get this one.
Bear with me. I'll do the Michael Brown computer searching
sound do do do do? Do do do do? Here
we go tonight.

Speaker 34 (33:42):
New information in a deadly police shooting in Milwaukee over
the weekend. The medical examiner identified the man who died
as Anthony Virginia. Police said he would not drop a
gun he was holding near thirty seventh in Lancaster. That
site has just blocked from where police got a report
of a gunman shooting at someone. The officer who killed
Virginia is on administratively, which is in police shootings.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Well, thanks for letting us know that it's routine in
police shootings. That's all I have got for taxpayer relief.
Shots today Michael Brown. I believe we'll be doing the
weekend show tomorrow, and hopefully, if he's not too high
on the pills that he's been given for his dental surgery,
he will be back on Monday.
