Speaker 1 (00:01):
The clock, what time it's high news, the day is
half over.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Now it's time to enter the fletch zone at the.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
March Fan Everybody, what's going home?

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Man Fletcher's Sammy long with it till two o'clock today
John Shaefer will take over. Then we got a busy
one for you today, more four packs of tickets to
give away to the new Elephant Valley at the San
Diego Zoo Safari Park, which I believe opens up to
date March fifth. Yeah, so get on out there, but
stay tuned here so you can win a four pack
of those tickets. We also had perhaps the worst beat

(00:39):
of all time last night long Shots okay see winning
by three, they had a five point lead with the
minute left.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
In the game.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Shade Gildress Alexander hits a three pointer late that put
puts him up five, and then Jalen Brunson with a
nasty little fadeaway jumper to bring it back to three
points in long Shots was doomed to fail.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Hi, Sammy man, I mean a five eight damn My
apologies to you about the hornets. This is gambling can
be frustrating, and we got a prime example of that
last night and I'm gonna tout myself for a second.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
It was a great long shots.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
I'm out here, one of your best.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
I'm out here, Colling six and a half point underdog
Charlotte Hornets on the second night of a back to
back to beat the Boston Celtics. The Clippers absolutely dismantle
Dnaana Pacers. Benedict Mathren had twenty three points in really
Oklahoma City. I mean, you couldn't win by five points
and pay out all of San Diego. Very frustrating from

(01:32):
the Oklahoma City thunder. I thought they were the best
defense in the league. Apparently not.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
And it almost went overtime too. What we could have
used that there was a couple of three pointers missed
right at the end there that could have been helpful.
But okay, see doesn't get the job done. Don't worry, Samuel.
We'll have a new long Shots for you coming up
at twelve forty five. If it's your first time joining
the show. Hello, my name is Ben Fletcher. That's Sami
Long Samy, say.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Hi to everybody.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
What's going on? We like to have a lot of
fun here. From noon to two every single day. We
talked football, basketball, baseball, and everything in between today we'll
do a little bit of everything. We got Vinnie Bunsenjor
jumping on the show coming up at one point thirty
to talk some AFC West, which has been kind of
crazy here over the last few days, with question marks
about where Max Crosby ends up with the Chiefs just
getting rid of a bunch of people and stockpiling some

(02:17):
draft picks. We got lots to talk about with Vinnie
coming up in just a little bit, but we are
going to start in the NFL because I can already
tell you exactly what Sammy Long is gonna say, and
we have not talked about this yet, but I know
for a fact Sammy Long is going to open his
mouth and say congratulations to the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Today is the day.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
It's my favorite time of year where everyone is gonna
crown the Buffalo Bills the top team in the AFC
because they fixed what they needed to fix. They got
a wide receiver, they got Dj Moore from the Bears.
We'll talk about the Bears side in a second, but
the Buffalo Bills got a lot better today. I do
firmly believe that Dj Moore is a stud wide receiver
and they bring him in and they're pairing him with

(02:58):
Josh Allen. This makes a lot of sense me for
the Buffalo Bills. And if I had to say right
now who my two teams in the Super Bowl aren't
for next year, I would probably say Rams and Bills. Sammy,
this is your favorite time of year. Wait, hold on,
huh it was? I not spun on with what you
were gonna say.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
No, I'm actually gonna praise the Bills, Okay to an extent.
I mean, I'm not gonna be like everyone else. And
you know writing the Josh Allen Hall of Fame card already. Listen,
it's just good. Get the Bills desperately needed a receiver
and Dj Moore. They're eating about fifteen million dollars of
the deal. But DJ Moore is a really good receiver.

(03:36):
He just lost some playing time because romadoonte what kind
of had a great connection with Cale Williams and Luther Burden,
the third the rookie last year out of Missouri kind
of exploded onto the scene Colson Loveland. It's a youth
movement in Chicago. So I get it from the Bills perspective.
I get it from the Bear's perspective as well, you
had to get Josh Allen a number one receiver. I'm sorry,

(03:57):
but Khalil Shakir is not a number one receiver. Waiting
for Keyon Coleman to eventually try to become a superstar
has not worked out so far.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Bills have become a reputable for being bad at drafting receiver.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Well, they're trying, They're they're trying to do what the
Chiefs did, which is get rid of Tyreek Hill.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
They got rid of Stefan Dicks.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Everyone has went away from the star number one wide receiver,
and the Chiefs have had problems with this kind of
trying to deal with scraps of other people's leftover wide
receivers aka Hollywood Brown, DeAndre Hopkins. The Bills have done
the same thing, trying to kind of take uh, you know,
Brandon Cook, some some former guys. My problem, if I'm
if I was a Bills fan is why didn't this

(04:35):
happen at the trade deadline last year? You could have
had Jalen Waddell from Miami apparently for a first round pick.
And who knows. I'm not saying they win that game
against Denver, but it was they lost on the Margins.
You needed a number one wide receiver. The AFC felt
wide open last year with no Mahomes, no Burrow, no
Lamar Jackson and Herbert without an offensive line. It's a
good move for the Bills. They got to fix the defense.

(04:58):
This still doesn't make them an excellent defense, but yeah,
for the value that they gave up, I think Dj
Moore will have a good year with Josh Allen.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
I'd be surprised if they were done.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
I think they may go for another wide receiver, I
really do, and just totally revamp that room. Khalil Shakira
is a really good slot receiver, but that's what he is.
He's a slot receiver. You need stuff around him outside.
So maybe it's time for them to cut bait on
the key on Coleman experiment. Maybe that's it, and start
leading into the focus of tight end, which they certainly
have with Dalton Knox and Dalton or Dawson Knox and
Dalton Kincaid, but surround Josh Allen with a little more

(05:27):
talent and add to the defense. The Bills are sitting
in an okay situation salary cap wise, but wouldn't it
not shock you at all Sammy if they maybe if
Brandon Ayuk ends up being cut by the forty nine ers,
they take a flyer on him.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
I think that'd be smart for them. But if if
you're the Bills, you got a veteran, i'm not superstar
star receiver and DJ Moore, they don't have a lot
of draft capital, and I have a first and a
third round pick now of legit, you know, first and
second or Day one and Day two picks. I would
try to go get a superstar receiver if the Bills

(06:01):
were ever gonna make it aft in the draft.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Because Brandon being shown that he's so good at that, well.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
That's that's fair, But at some point you can't just
keep recycling. DJ Moore is twenty nine years old, and
it's not a falloff at thirty like running backs have.
But we've seen a lot of receivers once they get
to thirty, thirty one, thirty two, they kind of lose
their speed and they are not the same. And there
is a reason why the Bears are moving off him.
So I think it was a good gift for the Bills.

(06:27):
But if this is the solve to the offense just
getting DJ Moore, I'm not sitting here saying that they're
in the super Bowl today because of that.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
On the Bears side of things, I get the move
in terms of the fact that you're excited about what
you have coming up. But Roma Dunza and it's Luther Burton, right, yeah,
at a Missouri. He's a burner and he was really
good for them last year and he was fun to watch.
And I get the idea that you have those two.
But DJ Moore was a nice little safety blanket for
Caleb Williams. And I think you just saw what Caleb

(06:54):
Williams could be for your future and you trade away
a veteran receiver who's presence in that room I don't
think is just about the place he can make on
the field, but also growing up those two young wide
receivers that you have, especially with Roman Doonzay, who I
know it's just two years in, but maybe the injury
prone question with him starts to pop up a little bit.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Well Burden too. Burdon was hurt on the stretch as well.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
So I DJ Moore is consistent as it comes in
the NFL. I don't know that that's the move I
would have made this offseason. Maybe next offseason. You're looking
to maybe cut away the veteran wide receiver. All right,
we'll get to the big three here in our number one.
If you're just joining us, I don't think I asked
the question, But Sam, are you ready to have a great show?

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Righty?

Speaker 2 (07:27):
I have a fantastic show.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
We're all ready to have a great show. Jump on in,
have some fun with us today. Text lines open seven
zero four seven zero. Start your message with team YouTube
is open as well at San Diego Sports seven sixty.
Go give us a subscribe over there and drop a comment.
We'd love to hear from you there as well. Sammy,
go ahead, smash it.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Cut lunch break is here. Ready to go back to
the office and knock the socks off your friends, I
mean co workers.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
It's time from the top stories of the day, a
big three three.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Yesterday, I felt a little antsy during the show. Sammy
had that year mamat that really kind of kicked in
the high gear.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
I feel much more calm, cool collection.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
You're you're already hooked on your mamates.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
I think so.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
They're real nice. It's like cocaine but in liquid form.
And I've never done cocaine, but I imagine that's how
you feel.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
I you know, it's bad when you drink like I
drink coffee every day, and I used to not.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
And now when I don't drink coffee like.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
Three of these a day, I know you get aheadache.
Probably isn't great for you, But I don't know. I
start my first cup of coffee on my way into work.
I have another one that I wondering this show.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
So just you feel more confident when you got a
cup of coffee in your hand.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
That's true.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
It's like if you're at a business dinner or something,
you feel better if you have like a whiskey in
your hands.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Uh huh.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
It's like, yes, business is being conducted.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
One hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Sounds fine, tremendous.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
All right, let's head to the NFL. Should Trey Wingo
put it out a tweet earlier. Things are This is
quoting his tweet. Things are moving fast on Max Crosby.
Last night, Dallas thought they were close to a deal,
but since then other teams have raised the anti and
our potentially are off. The Raiders two first round picks
for Max Crosby. Dallas Cowboys are now expected to shift

(09:06):
their focus to Trey Hendrickson. This also comes after a
report earlier today that the Raiders are more open to
moving Max Crosby. Feels like this is heating up right
before free agency A where would you like to see
Max Crosby go? And number two do you like Trey
Hendrickson as a fit for the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Now I'm not sure if it's just rumors, but I
did see a new team kind of enter the chat
on Max Crosby with the New England Patriots.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Could they be interested in bringing them in?

Speaker 3 (09:30):
And they got some flexibility with the young quarterback to
potentially onload something like that, and you think about what
that does for the New England defense that was already
excellent last year. But the Bears the Patriots both make
a lot of sense to me. You're looking at up
and coming teams who a have young quarterback where they're
not spending a ton at that position, and they can
afford to bring in one of the highest paid ed
rushers in the league, and b like Max Crosby's going

(09:52):
to a contender. Max Crosby's done his time with the
bad NFL team. I think it's time for Max Crosby
to be on some one's team that we can see
playing late into the season and into the postseason. I mean,
I would love to see him with a Chicago outside
of the fact that they're in the NFC and I
root for the Niners. I also don't think the door
is completely shut on the San Francisco forty nine Ers
to bring Max Crosby in. He has shown interest in

(10:13):
moving back to the Bay Area, which is where he
was drafted.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
With the Oakland Raiders, who are now in Las Vegas.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
He has showed interest in coming to the San Francisco
forty nine Ers. I don't think that's a bad fit
at all, him and Bosa on the same defensive line.
If you're thinking your window is only this big with
Fred Warner aging with Trent Williams, maybe in his last year,
we'll see if he's even a Niner next year, I
don't think that's a bad idea for the Niners at
all to just go all in on one season.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
I could see it from the Niners' perspective in that
to your point, if you think it's a limited window
with all these aging stars, go in try to win it.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
It's this year when are you gonna get McCaffrey playing
at an all pro level again?

Speaker 4 (10:49):
It right, the Bears. It makes a lot of sense.
We were just talking about it. The Dj Moore trade
freeing about fifteen million dollars in cap space. The Bears
have a lot of cap space to to deal with.
You need a bona fide superstar pass rusher on that
defense because as we remember all those Chicago and I
was singing their praises all year. The defense was extremely

(11:12):
turnover reliant. They had I believe they had the best
plus minus of any of any team in turnover differential.
That can completely change in the span of one year.
And the Bear's defense wasn't very good. It's just the
offense was great and they forced turnovers. You got to
get a superstar pass rusher on the Cowboy side of things.
If I'm a Cowboys fan, I am a static today
because now Max Crosby, yes would be, he'd be He's

(11:35):
a megastar with the Raiders. Could you imagine him with
the Cowboys and it'd be a big story. And everyone's
talking about Dallas. But you got rid of Michaeh Parsons,
and you did that for a reason because you wanted
to get back some draft picks and kind of rebuild
this defense and not just have stars, really rebuild it
from every level and every facet of the defense. Trading

(11:56):
a bunch more draft picks to go acquire another star
pass rusher, who, by the way, is older than Michah
Parsons at twenty eight years old, is kind of undoing
everything Jerry Jones has done since last year. And I
think if you're a Cowboys fan, you're sitting there, you
signed Trey Hendrickson, you have a bunch of cap space,
you have Quinnan Williams, and you have a bunch of
draft picks to go attack the defense. I think that's

(12:17):
a much smarter way to go than it every trade
the farm to just go star hunting. A five A
jumping in here on the NFL Talk saying, do you
guys think anyone swoops.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Up Steffan Diggs.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
I was just having this conversation actually in the hallway
earlier today about Stefan Diggs, and I honestly think he
is the Nick Costeanos of the NFL this offseason because
at the money he was getting paid with New England,
no chance anyone's gonna trade for him, because there's too
much volatility with Stefan Diggs and you don't know the
wide receiver that you're getting as well, whether he's the
Stefan Diggs who was excellent with Minnesota or who was

(12:47):
kind of okay with New England.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
But at a.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Five million dollars a year deal, Stefan Diggs is absolutely
worth it to bring in.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
He'll land somewhere.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yeah, I think we're gonna see.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
It's gonna be a minute because you're waiting on this
AJ Brown thing to come down. Apparently the Eagles we
talked about yesterday, want to Quinn Williams type package back,
so a first in a couple of seconds, which feels
crazy to me, but that's what they want. AJ Brown
is a better receiver at this point in his career.
And then you got the kind of big three in
the NFL draft Mikayla Lemon out of USC Carneal Tate

(13:19):
out of Ohio State, and Jordan Tyson out of Arizona State.
Someone's not gonna be able to land one of those
three receivers. That's I think where Stefan Digg's on a
cheap deal, to your point, makes a little bit of
sense for somebody.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
It may be exactly the Consteana situation.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
It might be when teams reports a camp and everybody
gets eyes on everyone for the first time and they're like, oh,
we're gonna need a wide receiver, right.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Because at least with Diggs, even though there's injury concerns,
there's a lot of off the field stuff.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
He had four kids in twenty twenty five four.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
It's impressive, Fois, that's impressive numbers, six.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Total children, six different women.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
He's still got to be playing for a contract.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
He's spreading it out. Man. He's got child support for
eighteen years on all of them.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
Oh my gosh, but yeah, he will get swooped up
all right. Breaking news at the NBA, Jason Tatum will
be making his debut this season. A lot of people
thought coming off the Achilles tear ACL tear he would
not play at all this season. He's likely to make
his debut against the Mavericks on Friday Night. Are the Celtics,
despite being blown out by the Hornets last night, the

(14:17):
favorites now to come out of the Eastern Conference.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
I do think that the basketball world owes the Celtics
a big fat thank you.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
I really do.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
How often do you see because the reports when Jason
Tatum injured his leg where that he's probably gonna miss
all of this season. In the thinking behind that was
the Celtics would not be in a position come March
fifth where Jason Tatum would be of any help to
get them back into any sort of competitive conversation. The
Celtics hold serf. They play really really well without Tatum

(14:45):
to now, you would think halfway through Tatum's recovery, he's
looking at the team like, oh my god, we still
have a chance to go in there and mess some
things up in the East come playoff time. And they've
done better than that. They just keep getting better without him.
I think this is great for the NBA. I think
this is really cool that Jason Tatum is gonna be
able to get back on the court, one of the
biggest stars that we have right now in the NBA.
And whether he's polarizing or not to you, I like

(15:08):
watching Jayson Tatum play basketa.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
He's a great player and he's fun to watch.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
And he is gonna be really good for the Celtics
team when they get him back. I think this is
great for the league and they should be in the
conversation as the top team in the East.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
It's I am gonna make him the favorite right now
in the East because I think it's gonna look rocky
when he comes back. This team has gotten accustomed to
Jalen Brown being the star. Peyton Pritchard has had an
unbelievable season on the wing for them, Derek White, Nimius
k t It's a very collective roster that plays hard
nos defense. Adding Jason Tatum back in, that's less shots

(15:39):
for Derek White, less shots for Peyton Pritchard. But to
beat in Oklahoma City, to beat to San Antonio, Denver,
whoever comes out of the West, you aren't going to
have to have two bona fide superstar scores. It can't
just be Brown because excellent defensive teams are gonna be
able to take you out of it. The Knicks have
beat some good teams recently, narrowly lost to Oklahoma City
last night. I feel like Karl Anthony Towns is the

(16:02):
number two, is just not good enough to get to
an NBA finals.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
That's just me personally.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
Detroit, I think lacks a lot of three point shooting,
and they're very young it's kind of Kate Cunningham and
a lot of talented role players. But again, is Jalen
Duran a number two star on a championship team.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
And in the Caves, we haven't seen Donovan Mitchell really
perform in the postseason and James Harden. So until I
see it, I don't know if I believe that. So
I do think Boston they've been there before. They're an
extremely deep team. They could get some teams in the
Western Conference headaches.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
All right, we're gonna save it for the other side,
saman We'll get Big three number three on the other side. Plus,
keep listening for your chance to win those Elephant Valley
tickets for the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, which is
now open as of today. Congratulations to the elephants. I
kind of want to go see him. I kind of
want to go see them. Oh yeah, like pretty soon.
Here it is San Diego Sports seven sixty Quick break here,
Big three number three on the other side, plus and

(16:53):
Padres Talk coming at you, San Diego Sports seven to sixty.
Love my Heart Radio app a new receiver for Allen
to overthrow and pressure situation. Sammy, I told you to
stop texting the show. We have listeners who text the show.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
No, I just listeners are coming to the realization of
what happens every January, and I don't know how many
times we can. We're in March the same thing every year.
We're in the time of year where everyone tricks themselves
into thinking this is the year.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
So I'm just.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Hllon had a broken foot, Sammy.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
There's always an excuse.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Seven six oh yo. Tom Aspinall signing with match Room.
Do you think he leaves the UFC after his contract
is done? So Mattroom is Eddie Hearn's and Eddie Hearn
boxing promotion, massive boxing promoter, y out.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Okay, so interesting. For sure.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Tom Aspinall is one of the top big boys in
the UFC and if he's to leave and go switch
over to boxing, that is a's a blow to Dana.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
And so Eddie Hearn and Dana White have had beef
the last couple of weeks because Dana White getting into boxing,
ZUFA boxing, Eddie Hearn, Frank Warren, Oscar de la Hoya,
all these boxing promoters don't like that because he's basically
trying to build a UFC boxers where all the best
boxers are under one promotion. They're all fighting each other

(18:04):
and it's a league, and it's a league, so ideally
that would happen. It would be fun because a lot
of the biggest fights in boxing we haven't gotten it,
have been evaded because of promoters for decades now. But
so now Eddie Hearn kind of pulls the UNO reverse
and ends up signing the heavyweight champion of the World,
Tom aspinall for some business dealings in and out of
the ring.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
It's data.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
White is an interesting thing on his hands because the
UFC is well run. If you're the champ, you're fighting
the number one contender, then if he's not available, the
number two contenders so forth.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
It's easy for people to digest.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
The problem though right now is the UFC is lacking
stars because Connor McGregor has been out of the octagon
for so long, John Jones getting up there in age,
Alex Pere is getting up their age.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
With some reports today that John Jones may be already
confirmed for the White House card. And even if he
is confirmed, are you relying on him to show up?

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Well, that's the thing.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
He has had trouble off, you know, out of the
ring stuff Connor McGregor as well, and where's the young
UFC superstar And that was supposed to be Tom Aspitall.
So if Eddie Hearn signs tom Aspital and tom Aspitall
pursues a career in boxing, you wonder where that leaves
the UFC in terms of star power going forward.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
And now you got a bunch of UFC complainers, UFC
fighters complaining about how much money they make on a
fight in fight out basis it is. It's tricky for
Dana because the league is more fan friendly, yes, but
it is not necessarily athlete friendly like the way boxing
has been run over the last two decades. More boxer friendly,

(19:35):
like they're making more money each time they go out. Yeah,
And however the fan suffers because you're not getting the
matchups you want, right.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
Because a promoter goes flesh. If you're a promoter and
you have two fighters, you have an A side fighter
and a B side fighter. If you fight an A
side fighter with another A side fighter from another promotion,
you have to split the money in half, whereas if
you fight two fighters from your stable, you get to
keep everything.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
So it just makes business sense. That is her b boxing.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
But yeah, this whole UFC boxing now promoters trying to
get into each other's sports is causing a lot of dissension.
And I'm pretty surprised Eddie Hern got tom Asman all today.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
Do you see Max Alloway doing the no No, He's
fighting this weekend, He's fighting Charles Alvera. That's talking smack
about Paramount Plus, who just bought the UFC rights. Come on, Max, what.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Are we doing?

Speaker 2 (20:20):
What are we doing? Maxys?

Speaker 3 (20:21):
I'm excited for that fight. But all right, Big three
Number three was uh WBC.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
The tm USA is the odds on favorite, ahead of Japan,
ahead of the Dominican Republic. It kind of got me
thinking a about the WBC. But obviously a lot of
the Potter stars, Machado and Tatis playing for uh, the
Dominican Republic, and then you got Bogart's playing playing for Netherlands,
Mason Miller playing for America. We were talking before the

(20:47):
show and I'm curious. Text on Texas seven zero four
seven zero, start your message with team. If Boguards or
Tatis or Machado are raking during the WBC, you know
as fit as all of us, We hope that that happens,
But does it put even more pressure on them to
have good starts with the season, because if Manny Machado
or Bogarts or Tatis is destroying the WBC and putting

(21:09):
up unreal numbers in so far in the exhibition games,
they look unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
Manny hit a bomb the other.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
Day, Tatis was excellent. He had like three hits the
other day from the plate. If they start the season slow,
are people more frustrating San Diego? Or is this a
product of they're gonna have lee way because it is
such a long baseball season.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
So here here's what I'll say about the performance in general.
If any of those three guys struggle a lot this year,
the fires getting hot, and it's like there's some iyre
from Padres fans that is well deserved for those three guys.
Here's what would make me personally more upset if I
see the Fernando Tazis junior for teams Ofmenican Republic, which

(21:49):
we will see, by the way, be that kind of
team leader.

Speaker 1 (21:53):
Spark guy.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
She's kind of looked like so far, dancing all over
the place, super congratulatory to everybody, and then he comes
back to Theres and is Paudy Fernando, which we saw
a lot of last year. That's what would piss me
off a little bit, because he's such a mental baseball player, man,
and when things are going good for Fernando, man, it's
going good for the Padres, and it's going real good
for him. But when he gets in that headspace, which

(22:13):
is the Powudy Fernando headspace, it affects the entire team.
So if we see that Fernando on display at the
WBC and all of a sudden, week one for the
Padres comes around and he's back to being Paudy, that's
what would actually make you, man.

Speaker 4 (22:28):
You feel like you get to like with the Dominican
Republic Tatis, even though he's one of the best players
on the team, the team is vibes. It's vibes, But
he also doesn't have to be the leader. He just
gets to be the star in Fernando that he is
and the showcase showcase office talent that he has when
you get to the Padres. It's kind of an interesting

(22:48):
situation because Tatis is, i think universally accepted as the
best player, but is he the leader on the team Machado,
I think is much more of a leader than Tatis
would be. Mayor feels like he's too young to be
the clubhouse leader. Like is it a guy like Joe Musgrove,
You feel like a guy like Joe Muskrove coming back
is kind of that glue guy that everyone points to

(23:09):
as that guy kind of runs the team.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
I do think I heard you and Shaefy talking about
this yesterday in that first Hour where John kind of
talked about Musgrove as he's gonna go down as like
kind of an all time padre even though his numbers
aren't great. But Joe Musgrove is just he feels like
such a padre. His Rimeley owns the coffee shop, like,
it's a lot of that mister san Diego. Yeah, and
so I do kind of feel like him being back
mentally is gonna have a great toll on this team.

(23:33):
Plus hopefully the Polaroids come back, and everything that Joe
Musgrove does for the team. It's all important in baseball.
It's less important in other sports. In baseball, where you're
in the same locker room, in the same dugout with
the same guys for a one hundred and sixty two games.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
You gotta have that stuff there. It's gotta be fun.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Otherwise you see drafts of twenty five plus games where
Manny looks like a minor leaguer, where Fernando looks like
a minor leaguer, and then all of a sudden they
turn it around.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
Race to your point, I mean, last year they start
off fourteen and three and the vibes are high, immaculate.
It's easy to go to the presser when you're winning.
I mean, it's fun taking questions when you're sweeping teams
in series. And then when you get swept by the
Dodgers in August, remember Machado didn't go to the presser.
There was a lot of drama, guys not talking to
the media. It feels like on this team, you have

(24:16):
to figure that out a little bit about it can't
get so high and so low because throughout a baseball season,
to your point, you're going to have highs and lows,
and if you kind of get too involved with that,
it's just it's too much of an emotional roller coaster.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
Jay Sales getting hashtag Poudy Nando out the chat.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
You don't need Jay Sales calling it out.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
We're keeping that away for this year. Twenty twenty six
is the year of Happy Nando. Hashtag happy Nando, hashtag
Bathan Sammy, all right, quick break Here on the other side, Sammy,
repeat after me.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Being a cannibal is bad. Being a cannibal is bad.
Being a cannibal is bad.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
Well, I'll tell you why on the other side in
San Diego Sports seven sixty live on iHeartRadio app also
a bad thing in the world of college basketball, And unfortunately,
the Mountain West is full of cannibals here in twenty
twenty six. You know, there's never been a regular season
conference champion that's had as many losses as the regular
season conference champion will have this year in the Mountain West.
And it was just three or four years ago where

(25:11):
the Mountain West it felt like every single year was
sending four or five teams into the NC Double A Tournament.
This year they are playing themselves into a potential one
bid league. The Mountain West is I think probably most
likely it's still gonna be two teams. It's gonna be
whoever wins the conference championship and Utah State. But if
Utah State loses again, which they've been losing a lot lately.

(25:32):
There's a real chance they don't make the nc DOUBLEA
Tournament as an at large if they lose twice here
in the next couple of games, one being their final
game of the season, which I'm pretty sure they play
New Mexico, don't they in the final Blue season, and
then once again in the first round of the Mountain
West Tournament. There's a chance that Utah State's no longer
an at large bid. So the way New Mexico lost
last night, by the way everyone has lost a ton,

(25:54):
San Diego State could have been in a tie for
first place once again had they just beaten in the
or had goun to win in their most recent time out.
And so for the Aztecs, I almost want to leave
them out of this conversation entirely, but the fact that
the Mountain West has just picked each other off as
much as they have so far this season is really
leading to a pretty dark place for the final season
of the Mountain West as we know it, with a

(26:15):
potential for one team making the NCAA Tournament, it doesn't
feel right with how good this league has been.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
This year, It's disappointing.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
It's I mean you talk about this is the great
part about college basketball is the home court environments and
the worst part about it is the home corn environments
because the fact that it's a testament to the Mountain
West in their fan bases because there's so many tough
places to play, and obviously Viejas probably tops that list,
but it's hard to get road wins. And when you're

(26:44):
not playing the Big Twelve, when you're not playing in
the SEC, and you're playing ranked AP opponents, so long
it's twice a week, I mean, you can afford to
have a lot of losses because just one or two
wins can give you some real resume builders. This is
why next week I'm curios Areas have the assets approached.
Tomorrow night, it's senior night, it's at BAAS, it's a
Friday night. I think people are gonna be juiced up

(27:05):
for this game.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Good. You went very good, especially lately. The Aspects needs some.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
Juice heading into next week, because can the Aztecs win
three straight games? I believe they can, but it's also
I could see them losing in the first round. I mean,
this is it's hard to determine what as text team
we're getting. If the team that got out rebounded the
other night thirty seven to fifteen shows up. They're probably
not winning three straight games next week. It's gonna take

(27:34):
them as far as the frontcourt can take them, because
at the end of the day, I believe that Resticks
and Waters, bj Davis Miles Burn, all the Elsie Harrington,
all the guards this team has, even though they've had
some problems playing together at times this year, I believe
they're the most talented in the Mount West and they
can figure that out. Next week, in my opinion, is
gonna completely come out of the front court. Even if

(27:55):
they're not scoring, they have to dominate the boards because
the whole point about having really to guard play and
wing play is getting second chance opportunities. And again thirty
seven to fifteen the other night, that is just unacceptable.
And to go even though it's a neutral site for
everyone in Vegas, and win three straight games at Viejas,
you might be able to get away with being outrebounded,
not on the road.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
Neutral side for everyone except for oh Las Vegas, who
by the way, is pretty good.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
Now.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
They haven't done well in this tournament ever, but it's
a very very good UNLV team.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
This year.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
So I think the biggest problem facing the Aztecs now
that the at large bid is largely out the window
is the fact that in the Mountain West Tournament, the
cutoff for being a good team is a lot lower
down the league standings this year than it has been
in the past. So in the past you've probably had
six teams who have a legitimate shot at winning the
Mountain West Tournament. This year you can make a case
for a easy You could make a case for eight.

(28:46):
The only teams I can't make a case for winning
the Mountain West Tournament are Wyoming, Fresno State, San Jose State,
and air Force. Those are the only four teams other
than that UNLV, Nevada, Boise State, Colorado State. By the way,
Colorado State and Boise State maybe the best two teams
in the Mountain West right now, with how they're playing.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
Well and the as it's here below, to the four
you just listed that you don't think as a shot
to win it, the Astecs probably aren't playing any of
those teams outside of a massive first round up sets, so.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
Or something severe changes in the last game of the
Mountain West regular season, they could potentially play.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
One's It's weird because you look at it. The Assets
has certainly played Nevada well. Utah State I think they
played well. You know, they're one and one on the season,
but even the road performance against Utah State, I thought
they played pretty well there.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
They feel like the better neutral side team.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
If we're going off history, you don't want to play
Grand Canyon. That team is just not that they're necessarily
more talented in the Astecs. They've owned San Diego State,
they own them, and they the way they played, they
get out in transition is it kind of works against
the Aztecs. Henley the guard is four to zero against
the Aztecs back to his days at UNLV. So. I mean, again,
it's the beautiful part about college basketball that you can

(29:52):
have a kind of bad last couple of weeks here
and you can get a lifeline next week by just
winning the Mountain West Conference tournament. But the Aztecs certainly
made it hard on themselves because winning three straight games
in a league that is as deep as the Mountain
West is is going to be gonna be hard.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
It does kind of paint the picture of like the
Mountain West isn't gonna get the proper light, I don't
think like I don't think the Aztecs have earned a
spot in the NC DOUBLEA Tournament.

Speaker 1 (30:16):
I could say that honest and fair.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
I do think the Mountain West has earned more than
one spot in the NC DOUBLEA Tournament this year. And
even if it's not the Aztecs, I think they've earned
more than one spot because this conference has been really
good and it's eating itself alive. But the fact that
it is down to the potential that maybe it is
just one team that gets in. Maybe if Utah State
goes on a tear and wins three games in three days,
maybe they are the only team in the Mountain West
that gets a shot in the NC DOUBLEA Tournament. I

(30:39):
don't think that's right at all. I think there's more
teams that I have deserved a shot. If I was
power ranking by the way the Mountain West Tournament right now,
and I had to be completely honest and truthful, I
might give Boise State in Colorado State the top two
spots for making the or winning.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
The Mountain West.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Consce right well, And how are we seen in any
tournament it take not even just the Mountain West Big twelve,
Big ten, whatever. It's teams that get hot at the
right time. And we've seen bid Steelers left and right.
So tomorrow where it's since.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
The end of January, Bois State's been the best team
in the Mountain West.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
Right, So you look at tomorrow as kind of in
a weird way, it's a senior night. People are excited,
but it's not some important game in terms of it
doesn't really matter for their March madness lives, but it
kind of does in a way, and that matters for
their tournament seating. It matters for the tournament seating. And
you need some mojo back. I mean you can't. You
can't go in here on a three game losing streak
and then expect to go win three straight games and

(31:32):
have a lot of confidence in that.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
You're absolutely right. All right, It's gonna be a stressful
one of the house tomorrow. I promise you that. I'm
already nervous about it. I know. John Shaffer is probably
twice as bad as I am right now. Sammy's just
holding it together. Mister cool over there, you're like the
camel and those old cigarette commercials. I got faith San
Diego Sports seven sixty man. I thought Sammy did his
best work last night.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
I really do.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
I thought it was a perfect parlay. Came up one
point short.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
Literally one point short, literally one point short.

Speaker 1 (32:00):
Can he get it back here tonight?

Speaker 3 (32:01):
We'll see coming up next to San Diego Sports seven
sixty live on our radio app.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
But first, you want to win a four pack.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
Of tickets to go see some elephants at the Elephant
Valley at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Call right
now eight seven seven seven sixty seven for seven sixty.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
It's brand new the Elephant Valley.

Speaker 3 (32:16):
Today is the first day it's open to the public
at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. They've been working
on this thing for like seven years, and the conceptualization
of it was all the way back about ten years ago.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
It's open.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
It's awesome, So get out there as soon as you can.
You can win a family four pack of tickets right
now by calling eight seven seven seven six seven four
seven sixty collar number eleven eleven. You're going to the
Safari Park. It's San Diego Sports seven sixty Long Shots.
Next the Lakers. The Big Three gotta show up tonight
against a big time team. If people really want to
believe in the Lakers have some chances this year in

(32:48):
the playoffs, all right, now, last night Sammy's long shots
came painfully close to getting us a win and a
much needed win.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
But last night it was.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
Charlotte six and a half point do in Boston and
they win by twenty plus almost thirty.

Speaker 3 (33:04):
Clippers beating the crap out of the Pacers that cashed,
and then ok Se winning by more than three and
a half points.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
They won by three.

Speaker 4 (33:13):
Very frustrating beat last night for all of this was.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
The bad beat of the century man. It really was.
We'll see if Sammy can write the ship here now.
I will say I gave out a flat shot at
the end of yesterday's show.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
Yeah, standard Shofley, and.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
He's playing well.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
He's in the top six here at the API, the
Arnold Palmer Invitational out at bay Hill, which looked incredible
today while he was playing Xander looked good. He's in
position man, so maybe that can happen in cash for us.
But Sammy, let's go ahead and get today's long shots.
Go ahead, smash it.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
You looking for some luck, want to win big? It
was so money we don't even know what time to
take a shot say that me and his man quit
long shots.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
I liked the All three NBA last night. I got
to watch a lot of NBA last night. My wife
was at book club, so I control the TV. It
was really nice.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Actually, what's she's a book club?

Speaker 1 (34:04):
She was at book club last night?

Speaker 2 (34:06):
What's uh? What's she reading? I was?

Speaker 1 (34:08):
I read it too. It was Project tail Mary. Really good.
The Ryan Gosling movie that's coming out.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Oh, really really good. But that looks like it is
it good? Or is it? It looks like an Armageddon knockoff?

Speaker 1 (34:17):
So I really didn't know a whole lot going into it.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
But it is kind of an Armageddon knockoff, but.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Not so much.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
I think it.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
If Ryan Gosling can act as good as we all
think he can act, it's gonna be an excellent movie
because it's gonna be a lot of just him.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
I like, I'm curious toe how closely they stick to
the book because the book is pretty like it's got
a lot going on, a lot of different storylines going on,
but really, really good.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
I'm excited about the movie now.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
Hell yeah, Shots of book Clubs in America.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
Yeah, I just read whatever she reads, and I usually
enjoy it.

Speaker 4 (34:45):
Imagine if we started like our book club would be
like a comic book.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
Well, I think that she's, uh, we're hosting the next
book club night, so I get to be bartender and
chef for the night.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
All the husbands do that whenever it's at their house.
So really, I'm gonna have to really help my game.

Speaker 4 (34:59):
Okay, all right, we got a three leg parlay tonight.
We're sticking with the Association for this one. All right,
let's go pissing Spurs. Fun matchup tonight. I'm excited to
watch this game starts at five o'clock because a lot
of people I think you could pick either team to
win the NBA Championship and people wouldn't call you crazy. Now,
a week ago or two weeks ago, these two teams

(35:21):
played and the Spurs actually beat them one fourteen to
one oh three in Detroit, and the words of Lee Corso,
not so fast tonight, Detroit, give me plus three and
a half.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
There's too much talent on the road here. Listen.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
San Antonio is a fantastic team, and they came to
that game hungry against Detroit. I think they kind of
wanted to prove a point that they could be physical,
because that's kind of the one knock maybe on San
Antonio as although they have excellent guard played Dylan Harper,
Stefan Castle, dearon Fox, they're a little bit of a
finesse team. Even Wemby is kind of a finesse player

(35:56):
in Keldon Johnson, Devin Bissel. They had big nights against
to Detroit Pistons. This one, I think the Troy's gonna go.
We'll get back and Jalen Duran will be playing.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
In this game.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
That's a big ad for them. Isaiah Stewart will be
playing in this game. There's a Harrison Barnes is out
for San Antonio. One of their best defenders, Mason Plumley,
who actually gives Wey Gwenby some break when he's out,
is out for this game. So I think the Pistons
are gonna be able to take advantage of the front
court with the with the Spurs. The key to beating

(36:27):
the Spurs if you let Wenby get down to the center,
block your toast. He's too tall, he's too skilled, he's
going to get you. The few times that they have
gotten after the Spurs this year, anybody when you make
Wenby catch up the three point line and put the
ball on the floor before he gets to his move.
You have some success. The Pistons are one of the
best defensive teams in the league. Give me them at
plus three and a half tonight. I believe in the Pistons.

(36:49):
All right, let's stick with the NBA Raptors Timberwolves. Big
question mark in this game. Game time decision, Anthony Edwards,
game time decision, brandon ingram. I'm gonna rock with the
Raptors plus four and a half on the road. Now,
last time we bet the Raptors things and go too well.
The Knicks absolutely obliterated them one to eleven to ninety five.

(37:09):
Kind of disappointed how the Raptors came out. That was
their last game. They're coming off a little bit of rest.
Minnesota is a very talented team, but I think the
Raptors response tonight. Again, it was an odd performance against
the Knicks. The Knicks were looking to make a point
because they have had problems. They can't beat Detroit. They
want to show they could beat some top tier teams

(37:30):
in the Eastern Conference. In Toronto. Toronto responds against Minnesota.
Scottie Barnes, one of the best two way players that
probably doesn't get talked about enough. Average is about twenty
points per game. A constant All NBA All Defensive team.
Brandon Ingram is gonna try to approve a points tonight.
I think he's gonna be able to get after it.
A lot of talent up and down that roster Minnesota.

(37:51):
It's kind of the Anthony Edwards show, and then a
lot of just talent. You know, you got de Vincenzo,
Julius Randall. There's a solid bunch that plays good defense.
But the Raptors a little bit of a rest advantage
giving them plus four and a half on the road.
And if Anthony Edwards isn't playing this number, they're gonna
shoot to the favorite. So I think we get some
value here at plus four and a half with Toronto,
and they're gonna go to the Lakers Nuggets. Oh now,

(38:16):
people getting nervous when I talk about the Lakers, right
because people think, oh, I've and to be fair to me,
I have bet against my Lakers in years past.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
Okay, even when you bet against them it doesn't work, Yes,
we have you're allergic to betting the Lakers.

Speaker 4 (38:32):
Here's the loadown in this game here right here on
San Diego Sport seven sixty. By the way, Yeah, Denver
and the Lakers. Denver has had the Lakers numbers in
years past. Okay, the Lakers actually beat him in the
last matchup earlier this year.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
I was taking but whenever Sam says, I'm taking Denver.

Speaker 4 (38:48):
But Nikola Jokic didn't play in that game. Denver is
missing a couple key players tonight. Aaron Gordon, excellent defensive player.
Peyton Watson, excellent defensive player, has become a He cagged
for them offensively this season. Now, the thing with the
Nuggets is this, they average one hundred and twenty points
per game. They give up one hundred and sixteen. Aaron
Gordon when he plays that drops about seven points per game.

(39:11):
They average about one hundred and thirteen, so they don't
play a lot of defense. It's been up in there
this year with Denver. Cam Johnson is back tonight. On
the Lakers side of things, I got a weird feeling
the Lakers are gonna show up in this game. But
I'm staying away from the spread because the Lakers they're
hard to bet because when the Lakers show up, they
can beat a.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
Lot of teams.

Speaker 4 (39:31):
I know they haven't beaten the top tier competition yet,
but when Luca, Reeves and Lebron are playing well together,
the Big three have started to play a little bit
better in the last week. They need to say nature
win like this. I think they've had this game circled.
But we're staying away from the point spread because four
and a half Denver feel it feels like a fair advantage.
They're at home in the Mile High City, even though

(39:51):
Luca has had some big advantages here. I think the
Lakers show up in this game, so we're going to
the point total two forty and a half.

Speaker 2 (39:59):
Give me the over.

Speaker 4 (40:00):
The Lakers have been playing a lot of zone recently
in this If the Lakers play zone tonight, they're cooked
in my opinion, because if they try to play zone
against Nikola Yogis, who can pass out fine shooters, and
Jamal Murray, Christian Brown, Cam Johnson, the Lakers are not
a very good defensive team. They're gonna be giving up
a lot of points in Denver with no Aaron Gordon,
no Peyton Watson. I think the Big Three are gonna

(40:21):
be able to get after this a little bit. And
now the Lakers have a player like Luke Kenard who
can stand in the three point line and hit shots.
He's been playing well the last week. I like the
over in the game, over to forty and a half.
I know it's a big number, but neither team plays
much defense. Denver ranks one of the worst defensive teams
in the league, and the Lakers aren't far far behind either.
So both offenses put on a clinic. We're going over

(40:43):
to forty and a half in Nuggets Lakers tonight. Give
me the Raptors plus four and a half on the road.
Take it on Minnesota. And I also like another road team,
Detroit plus three and a half, getting a little revenge
against the San Antonio Spurs.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
I liked everything you said except for Lakers pick.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
So I went brow and I took the the I
took the Nuggets.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
Minus five and a half.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
I didn't pick the Lakers. I picked the over.

Speaker 3 (41:05):
I know, but I just I'm not trusting you picking
a Lakers game in any capacity.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
I wouldn't. I got a feel I wouldn't bet the
Nuggets tonight.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
Well I already did, so I don't know. I got
ten bucks to win seventy.

Speaker 4 (41:16):
Five guys had some massive games against Jamal Murray.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
I'm excited to see what happens here tonight. All right,
if you don't know what's going on, the San Diego
Padres are kind of kicking some ass today in spring ball.
They're playing against the Mariners. Sungman's song hit his first
home run in a Padres uniform. That's nice to see.
And the Padres are winning twelve nothing over the Ms
the Mariners so far today. So I or is that

(41:39):
they're playing? Yeah, they are playing Seattle. So the Eddie
Vedder Classic, the what do they call the Vetter Cup?
Oh my god, Lean won Padres. Why does it annoy
me when people talk about that, cause it's a big deal, Sammy.
First off, Eddie Vedder's rivalry.

Speaker 4 (41:54):
Eddie Vedder was at the Cubs, wasn't he at the
cob A huge Cubs fan. He's a Cubs fan, a
Mariner fan of I mean most.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
He's a Cubs fan who has ties to the Mariners
and the Padres.

Speaker 2 (42:05):
Like Potter's Dodgers. The rivalry. Can we stop forcing other?

Speaker 3 (42:10):
That's called the Lopez Cup? Mario Lopez born in San Diego,
diehard Dodger fan.

Speaker 4 (42:15):
Yeah, but Potter's Dodgers is a real rivalry. I lived
in Seattle.

Speaker 3 (42:20):
It wasn't always it was Dodgers Giants was the rivalry.
That was like the rivalry in baseball. It was like Yankees,
Red Sox Dodgers Giants.

Speaker 2 (42:28):
When Dodgers Giants is on, Yeah, and.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
The Padres just snuck in Like the last time Potter's.

Speaker 2 (42:34):
Dodgers past Dodgers Giants.

Speaker 1 (42:36):
I think so, I really do think so. I think
it's a bigger draw.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
Yeah, because the Giants haven't really been outside of when
they won the division.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
What was that four or five years ago?

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Yeah, but even then they were early bouncing the postseason, right.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
They have a star, Yeah, I mean Donnie.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
It goes back to the the Barry Bonds and Jeff
Kent going against the Dodgers like those days were huge,
and then it got to the the era where the
Giants DoD baseball for what five years?

Speaker 1 (43:01):
Three World Series of five years?

Speaker 3 (43:02):
Was that?

Speaker 1 (43:03):
Was that what it was? I think so?

Speaker 3 (43:04):
Yeah, that was the Bumgardner teams and those were huge games.
And then all of a sudden, over the last five years,
it's been Padres Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (43:10):
That's the top rivalry in the NL West.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
Oh, great change, but really the Padres Mariners is the right.

Speaker 4 (43:20):
They're like the Mariners coming to town. I live in Seattle.
I have friends who are diehard Mariner fans and they
have never once mentioned the Padres as a team they hate,
like not.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
Not, who would. It's ridiculous, It's made up.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
It's a it's a fugazi for ghe fugazi.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (43:35):
