Speaker 3 (00:04):
Trying to contact us by radio.

an eye on the PGA Championship.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Just stay clear of John Rahm.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
And the NFL schedule is out. And in case you
were wondering, it all starts in one hundred and seventeen days.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Certainly take their football seriously, don't they.
Speaker 5 (00:26):
Plus I won't winners under six and a half in Buffalo,
in Montreal.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
I'm just trying to understand why.
Speaker 5 (00:32):
Over six and a half in Anaheim in Vegas?
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Why are you doing this?
Speaker 6 (00:35):
Trying every money for college?
Speaker 5 (00:37):
And then I like Casper Route to win in two
sets at the atp Rome over Dardaria.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Figured it out, didn't you? You cracked the code?
Speaker 4 (00:44):
Getting the weekend starting inside the studios up San Diego
Sports seven sixty in the zone with Fletch and Sammy.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
Let's get it going on a Friday. What's happening everybody?
Ben Fletcher's Sammy Long with you? Zilled to Sammy will
keep the party rolling. Then Schaeffer and Sleewell will be
the afternoon drive on your way home.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Today. This is a big show.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
This is one of the biggest shows I would say
that Sammy and I have ever done.
Speaker 5 (01:11):
We have a very special guest.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Very special guest.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Now.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Sammy has been talking about this, probably since the inception
of this show existing. Sammy is a big fan of
hip hop, big fan of rap, and maybe the greatest
local San Diego musician in the history of our city
is here today.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
I judge whether it's a big event or not, whether
this guy showed up to it.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
I would tend to agree.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
If this guy doesn't show up to the event and
you fan it's a big event, I don't really know,
if I'll.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Be very honest, Sammy, I a weeke into me moving
into San Diego. I went bowling out in East County
with some friends with some of my wife's co workers,
and while we were at the bowling alley, her principal
of her school actually popped out a bluetooth speaker and
asked one very important question to everybody in attendance, is
that are you living Joe dreams?
Speaker 5 (02:00):
Dreams?
Speaker 2 (02:01):
And I said, mother effort. You're damn right.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
I'm living Joe Dreams and that was the first time
I ever heard one of Joe Dreams songs. Today, he's
gonna be at studio joining with us. He's actually getting
set up right now, and then he's gonna come take
a seat right next to me, and we're gonna hold
onto Joe Dreams for as long as he wants to
be here, because we are living Joe Dreams today. But
we had a busy show for you. Steve Hartman's gonna
be by in our number two. We'll have new long
(02:24):
shots coming up at twelve forty five. I have one
of the most hilarious betting stories that's ever happened in
my life.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
That is pretty crazy. You tell me before the before
we got gone.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Yeah, we'll talk about it in a little bit, but
right now, let's welcome him in because Joe Dreams is here.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Joe Dreams.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
I don't know that we've ever actually met in person.
My name is Ben Fletcher. Man, it's a pleasure to
meet you and have you on the show today.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Yes, thank you.
Speaker 7 (02:46):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
And then that's Sammy Longer right there. Samy's been reaching
out to.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
You, yo, Sammy great to meet you. Man. We throw
those headphones on right behind the computer.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, right there, but we got you on camera right here.
So if you ever want to talk directly to the audience,
that's where you look. And if you want to follow
us on YouTube at San Diego Sports seven sixty, you
can hit us there.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
But Joe Dreams, my god, man, it is a pleasure
to have you.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
I would say the biggest celebrity we've ever had in
studio thank you is Joe Dreams.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
Joe, what do you when you?
Speaker 4 (03:15):
Like?
Speaker 5 (03:15):
How'd you get started with all this? Because I'm not
even blowing smoke when I say I told all my
friends that you were coming on. Everyone was like, no,
FN way, it's doing it in So I u Ben's
story about you know every time I go to a event.
I mean, you're always outside Aztec Games. We're the home
of the ads text. How'd you get started?
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Like?
Speaker 5 (03:33):
What was kind of your first into music?
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (03:36):
So during the pandemic, I was selling life insurance and
I got fired from my job and right after that,
I decided to take a road tip. And on that
road tip, my car breaks down and I have some
money in my emergency savings. But instead of using the
money to fix my car, I take a leap of
faith and buy a microphone and the speaker. I start
asking people, Hey, what's your dream and making freestyle wraps
(03:57):
out of that, and that's how I got started.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
You're the freaking man, dude, and I love that you
are San Diego and you've kind of become a mascot
of San Diego in a lot of ways. We already
got people on the YouTube chat saying that they see
you after every single last Tech game and several Padre games.
But that's kind of where I became aware of you
was outside of Petco Park, outside of Jejas Arena, outside
of Snapdrag and Stadium. You've sort of worked your way
(04:20):
into every little bit of San Diego Athletics, san Diego
former markets. You are everywhere, man, and you are a
total what do they call it guerrilla marketing or you're
just getting out there and going for it. But so
the idea was to get at sporting events. Are you
a big sports fan?
Speaker 3 (04:35):
I love the Padres and I love the Aztecs.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (04:39):
I remember I was performing outside of SDSU when Malcolm
Butler hit that three pointer lot. Yeah, Lama Butler hit
the three pointer to send us to the championship, and
I remember performing Sim Diego because I had a padre
after that. That was one of my favorite moments ever
because man just be at via As Arena when they
(05:02):
did that.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
That was that was a moment.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
What you can't talk about via has what either San
Diego or I've seen you open so far in La where?
What's been your favorite spot to perform?
Speaker 6 (05:15):
One of my favorite spots is the Padres games on
the pedestrian bridge. Oh okay, I love that because the
pedestrian bridge is really long and I have the world's
loudest bluetooth speaker shout out to soundbongs and so it
allows someone to hear an entire song on their way
on their way there.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
All right, So you got an album that's out right
Open your Gifts, that's right, and you did it under
your own label, Live Joe Dreams.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
And what's that been like going through, uh doing the
business side of music? Because once you started, you said
you started around the pandemic time, you had to start
monetizing the son of a gun?
Speaker 2 (05:49):
How'd you do that?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
By all the generous people out there?
Speaker 6 (05:54):
Really is, by all the all the generosity of the
people in San Diego and everywhere I go and before,
there's always people who donate. Like I might I wrap
about someone's dream, they might give me one hundred dollars
bills to them their dream is that important to them,
and and they're and admit and that's what it meant
to them. So I'm very grateful for all the people
who booked me and booked me for freestyle wraps and book.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Joe Dreams dot com books Joe Dreams.
Speaker 6 (06:18):
Dot com dot com and all the people who donate
and give cash tips. I remember one time I was
performing in the gas Lap and I'm I'm moving, I'm
mobile because I have a dolly for my speaker. So
I'm going to the gas Lap and performing for people
outside the club. And then I run into Dana White,
the head of the UFC Love, and he reaches into
(06:40):
his pocket and he pulls out five hundred dollars bills
and he's's like, here, here you go, fantastic man.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
Yeah, what's the so you get you can you play
like parties and stuff like that as well. That's right, okay,
So what's what's the uh, what's the craziest place you
performed like what's the what's the request? You're like, what
you know?
Speaker 2 (06:59):
And what were you do? One outside the Pacers Strip Club.
Speaker 6 (07:03):
So one of my favorite performances was a It was
a pregame.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
It was a pregame.
Speaker 6 (07:09):
Party for the Mustache Bash and someone who has seen
me performing outside of a many event, she was a
really big fan. And I show up to their apartment
and as soon as I walk in, I see my
pictures on the wall.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
They have a Dreams Martin that they made.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
They have my music video up and playing, and it
was like a Joe Dreams theme party.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
That is fantastic.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
I was really honored by that.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
That's awesome, man. We got Joe Dreams in studio today.
We are living Joe Dreams. As a matter of fact,
we're gonna keep doing the normal show and Joe Dreams
is gonna be a part of it, on every aspect
of it. Sammy, why don't we queue up the big three,
Let's get to it, give the people what they want,
a little sports update, and we're gonna keep Joe Dreams
around as long as you're cool staying You're cool sticking
around right on, man, Sammy, go ahead, smash it.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
Is here ready to go back to the obviously and
knock the socks off your friends, I mean co workers
each time for the top stories of the day.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Three three three.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
That'd be sweet. We had Joe Dreams in studio today.
We're having some fun with him. We're gonna keep doing
the show and Joe's gonna stick around. You were just
saying you're thinking about going to the San Diego State graduation.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
The students have have reached out to me, be.
Speaker 6 (08:22):
Like, Joe, you should pop up at our graduation at
bas Arena. So I've been checking the internet and seeing
what he's gonna be and see if it works for
my schedule.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
And you know, I know he doesn't look like if
it's Sammy actually graduated San Diego.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
State, try apparently apparently, where are we going? Sammy?
Speaker 5 (08:38):
All right, let's go. Podres start a weekend set against
the Seattle Mariners. This is a generic one. So Joe,
I don't know what you feel about this, but they
call it the vetter Cup, you know, between the Mariners
and and Uh in the Podres. I got a problem
with it because I feel like it's a forced rivalry.
It's a rivalry weekend. But you know where are the
Dodgers at They're coming on Monday.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Eddie Vetter's also a Cubs fan, right.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
I mean he's at Cups, playoff games, at Potter games.
What is your reaction? Do you like the Vetter Cup?
Do you think it's a real rivalry between the Mariners
and the Patres.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
I've been curious about that myself as well.
Speaker 6 (09:11):
I remember during preseason there was a Vetter Cup as well,
wasn't there between the.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Part Yeah, yeah, yeah, So it's a it's technically a
six game series. They do three in San Diego, three
in Seattle. These are the three in Seattle.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
So who is Vetter?
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Eddie Vedder was the lead singer front man for Pearl Jam,
the band Pearl Jam, and he's lived in San Diego,
lived in Seattle.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
So they call it the Yeah, it's so Eddie Vedder.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
He donates a guitar of this a bunch of money
it actually it does go to a charitable event. But
this is considered rivalry weekend in Major League Baseball. But
the problem is none of the teams are necessarily playing
against their rivals.
Speaker 5 (09:48):
I see.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
So the MLB did a partnership with with Pearl Jam
singer in order to get the pear Jam fans to
watch baseball.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
That's exactly right, Yeah right, yeah, yeah yeah, I mean,
I guess it makes sense. But it's a big series
for the Padres. What do we want to see out
of the boys this week?
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Hitting some sort of offense?
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Can the the bats get injected with some sort of
life because it's been ugly. Man, the pitching staff has
been so damn good this year, and Fernando Tazis Junior,
Manny Machado, Jackson Merrill, I go down the list. They
have not been hitting the baseball whatsoever. Can you get
some sort of offense in a three game series to
get this fan base a little more excited By the
way Dodgers won last night, Padres no longer first place
in the All West.
Speaker 5 (10:28):
Well, that's I think what's been frustrating is, I know
people want to point to Griffin Canning yesterday and how
he got, you know, taken out in the second inning,
and was he very good? No, not really, but it's
we kind of got into it yesterday. It's hard to
sit here and kill Griffin Canning. It's hard to sit
here and kill these pitchers on in vent minimum contracts
when the bats were dead too, And I get you
(10:48):
can make the argument that they were out of the
game the second inning, but that's no excuse for the
offense not really doing anything, only putting up one run.
So I'm with you. The bats have to be big
and the Seattle's got really good starting pitching, so even
though cal Rally's not, there's there's no excuse for them
to not not put up some runs, especially leading into this.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Big dumper on the il big dumper on the iOS.
It's big news man, or what's next?
Speaker 5 (11:08):
Seven Oos go to the NBA Playoffs two Game six
is tonight, so Detroit playing in Cleveland. Detroit made a
big fuss about how they thought they got robbed in
that Game five because of the no foul call at
the end of regulation. And then we got Minnesota trying
to stay alive against San Antonio. How many game sevens
do we see?
Speaker 1 (11:26):
We are one game seven?
Speaker 5 (11:31):
Okay, So you think Detroit goes into Cleveland and.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Wins, Yes, I dude, I really like the women Yama
Anthony Edwards storyline. I fear that that series is done
here tonight, but I think Detroit has a little leut
gas left in the tank. I think they make it
a game seven. I go back here, you're opposite, I
am opposite.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
Now I get called out our very own Rich MacGuire
for betting against the Spurs, so I have to take
that into account. I do feel like Anthony Edwards has something.
This is the guy who's been the Western Conference Finals
to the last two seasons. I know they won that
Game four because Wenby got ejected halfway through, but I
don't know. At home in Minnesota, I think San Antonio
probably wins the series. But I do feel like we're
(12:10):
overreacting to some of these blowout wins. Wenby was playing
frustrated and pissed off after being ejected in that game,
and they kind of let him hang around. Minnesota I
think comes out much more aggressive. I think they get
a win tonight, but Detroit will be will be interesting
on the road.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
You know one more we could squeeze in here, Sammon.
Speaker 5 (12:25):
Yes, we got the NFL opener. It's a Super Bowl
rematch between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.
Do we like the NFL going with a Super Bowl
rematch Night one?
Speaker 2 (12:35):
They want that?
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Mike Rabel, Diana Russini drama and I'm here for it.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
This is smart by the NFL.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
It's been the biggest storyline this offseason. It's not even close.
So Mike Rabel getting the first crack at a press conference, Dude.
The scriptwriters for sure are behind the scenes going, Oh,
it's gonna be a really good game.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
It's Super Bowl rematch. This is gonna be fun. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Meanwhile, the head coach of one of the teams is
in the biggest scandal of the entire offseason.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
Sure, I'm sure that had nothing to do with it.
Speaker 5 (13:01):
Well, I think I think it's kind of a prove
it game for both teams.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
There's questions New England actually that good because.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
They went on this kind of run in the postseason
where you got a no bon Knicks on the Broncos,
you got a Houston team where most of their offense
was hurt, and then you got the Chargers who had
no tackles and the Seahawks. You lose Clint Kubiak, you
lose Kenneth Walker, you lose three well, I mean you
lose a lot of pieces. I think people are still
not questioning the Seahawks, but are they still gonna be
Number one in that division with the Rams and the Seahawks.
(13:31):
I'm kind of surprised they went with the Super Bowl
rematch because over the years that hasn't I mean, it
draws big ratings, but it hasn't always been the you know,
we saw that with Carolina Denver. People tried to kind
of put that later in the year. But I am
I am a little surprised.
Speaker 1 (13:46):
Rams Chargers, Rams Chargers super Bowl this year. You're you're
not the first person who had that earlier.
Speaker 5 (13:56):
I don't like it at all, actually, but I like it.
Sammy's a big time Chiefs fan.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
I'm a big time forty nine Ers fan. I was
actually excited about your your color scheme today. I thought
you might be into the Niners too. But this is
Detroit Red.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
We have Taylor Yip in studio, who's a massive Eagles fan.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
She is a Cowboys fan.
Speaker 5 (14:14):
Yeah, Coos, this is the third person. What are you
talking about?
Speaker 1 (14:19):
But we'll see Man Chargers Chargers Rams would be the
scriptwriter's dream to have two LA teams playing in l
A and probably Joe Dreams playing out front.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
YouTube chat Bomby.
Speaker 6 (14:30):
I'm gonna be on the field for that one, so
I'll be performing it.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
The YouTube is popping off about Joe Dreams, James saying
what up to Joe Dreams? Rich is all about it?
He actually Rich asked your question. He said, are you
living Joe Dreams?
Speaker 3 (14:45):
I'm living Joe Dreams. Are you living Joe Dreams?
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Are you?
Speaker 1 (14:49):
If you want to text the show, you can seven
zero four seven zero. Start your message with the word team.
We'll get to all of them. If you have any
questions for Joe Dreams, you can send those in as well.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I got a question for you for the both of you.
Hit me, so what is your dream?
Speaker 5 (15:02):
What is my dream?
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Sammy lead us off?
Speaker 5 (15:04):
I think because we're up against it, let's get to that.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
On the other side, sounds perfect. Are in San Diego
Sports seven sixty.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
We do have some Russell Dickerson tickets to give away
on the show today. We'll do that coming up in
our number two. Stay tuned at San Diego Sports seven
sixty live on the Heart Radio app. You've seen him
outside padres games as text games all over San Diego
at different events. Joe Dreams is living Joe Dreams in
studios sand live Joe Dreams.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Have you had time to think Sammy about what your
dream is.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
Try to think what my dream is. What is my dream?
Speaker 2 (15:33):
I know what my dream would be.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
What's your dream?
Speaker 1 (15:34):
Going a god role on a craps table, having all
that money out there, hitting every single number on the
craps role.
Speaker 6 (15:40):
Okay, So let's say, if you want a billion dollars,
how would you use the money to make the world
a better place?
Speaker 5 (15:46):
See, that's like a real question, man, is question personal
gain over there to make the.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
World a better place. If I had a billion dollars, you.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Said that you won from the craps table.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
All right, I mean half that billion is going into
some sort of roth ira, as Sammy would like to say,
So I make sure my retirement is set up.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
I would try to go to Eddie Vedder route.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
I think have some sort of baseball series named after me,
raise a bunch of money for charity, which they do
every single year, and kind of.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Just in honor of me. That's still very selfish, isn't it.
Speaker 5 (16:17):
Yeah, it's it's it's all about.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
You, charity golf tournaments. I'm trying to think about all
the things I'm passionate about right now. I wasn't ready
for what am I going to do to make the
world take the place I was thinking about the lambos
I was gonna buy, the plane I was gonna buy.
Speaker 5 (16:31):
This is not even because you're here. But I think
if I would, if I would won like a billion,
I think I'd want to start like a like a
talent agency of like like start like finding because like
you really made it on your own, Like you have
a great job of self promotion, like so many artists
out there just don't have the ability to self promote
or things like that.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
The ability, or not the.
Speaker 5 (16:52):
Ability, but the work ethic. But not even not the
work ethic, but the people that are like I don't
know what I'm saying, they don't have the promotional skills,
like something like you're great on social media. Sometimes a
record label won't find someone. I would like to start
a kind of like record label that's like trying to
find young artists.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
What would you do, Joe dreams.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
I would invest it in entertainment that will inspire more
people live their dreams.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
I like that a lot. I like that, but let's
have like the entertainment you do.
Speaker 6 (17:22):
Yeah, So right now, I'm working on a program for
students for elementary school and high school students to high
school students to inspire them to live their dreams. It's
called Dream Week. So if you see the tattoo on
my forehead, and the reason why I made this is
because when I was growing up, I wasn't living my dream.
I wasn't doing things to get towards my destination. I
didn't have compelling reasons are why I was doing what
(17:43):
I was doing. I had low energy E, I wasn't
hanging around the right amigos A, and I had the
wrong mindset M. So that's why I put this program
together inspire people to live their dream.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Dude, living Joe dreams isn't just something you say in
some of your songs. Isn't just something you're asking people
or people are asking you. It's something you live by.
And I appreciate the hell out of that.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
Joe dreams.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
What what what were some of the like what kind
of music into? What artists inspired you when you were
growing up?
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Well, when I was growing up.
Speaker 6 (18:10):
This is this has to do with the wrong amigos
and mindset because the people I was hanging out with,
you know, because when I where I grew up in
San Carlos and San Diego. So we were the only
fam one of the only families that looked like we did.
So when I went to Patrick Henry and High School
in middle school, the people that identified with and hung
out with that that looked like me were coming from
areas where they weren't striving to live their dream.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Let's say.
Speaker 6 (18:33):
Yeah, so I was listening to a lot of music
that was, you know, promoting a lifestyle that that was
not so good. You can use your imagination of, you
know what teenagers like that looked like me were listening to.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
So that really affected my mindset for sure.
Speaker 6 (18:49):
But now I'm you know, but I remember one time
a friend of mine sat texted me out of the
blue and he said, Hey, I have a mentor that
wants to meet with you as Starbucks.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
And I was like what, But I trusted him.
Speaker 6 (19:02):
So I go to Starbus and there's this guy in
a suit and he has a laptop and he puts
me onto a network marketing company. It was like a
recruitment presentation, and he invites me to their conference. And
at their conference, they had these keynote speakers like Robert T. Kioska.
He's famous for a book called Rich Dad, Poor Dad.
There's another speaker, Darren Hardy's famous for a book called
The Compound Effect, and it just really opened my mind
(19:24):
to personal development and this whole other lifestyle. And it
became a goal of mine to create music that that
talks about the things that I'm learning because I could
see the impact was having on my life and my
mindset and my migos, energy, you know all that other stuff.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
I'm telling you, Joe Dreams, don't stop with the music, dude,
go be an inspirational speaker too.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
I feel like a dream podcast.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
More people need to get the message and hear it
from someone who's lived it. It's a pleasure having you here,
it really is. Have any labels ever tried to reach
out to you and sign you? I mean, you got
the Instagram following, you got the enough listeners monthly on
different platforms.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Yeah, there's been some suitors, But to me, the most
important thing.
Speaker 6 (20:03):
Like if you see the tattoo on my chest right
here is there's the There's the Golden Circle from a
book I read called Start with Why is always what
is your why?
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Right?
Speaker 3 (20:12):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (20:13):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (20:13):
The why is to inspire people to live their dreams.
So when I think about who I'm collaborating with them, like,
is this a company that believes what I believe? First
and foremost, I don't care about the numbers and the
metrics and all that, because all that will only ruin
what I'm doing.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
Yeah, if then.
Speaker 6 (20:31):
They don't believe what I believe and they're not about
that as well. So that's that's I'm actually looking to
start my own record label in company.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
And I love that, man, I really do. And we again,
we appreciate you being here. If you're listening on the radio,
that voice you just heard is Joe Dreams. If you're
watching on YouTube, you're seeing them. This is Joe Dreams.
This is we are living Joe Dreams today. Sam, if
you thought about your dreams anymore.
Speaker 5 (20:54):
I said my dream?
Speaker 3 (20:55):
What was it?
Speaker 5 (20:55):
I said? I would start a talent finding agency like
giving and you know young artists, young like stars, like
a shot.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
I love it all right, Well, we got schedule released
to talk about Joe Dreams.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
You sticking around for a little bit longer.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
Sure, I'll stick around for a little bit, Lou.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
That sounds good. NFL schedule release videos came out yesterday.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
We have the full schedule on up on NFL dot
Com and everywhere else. We'll get into it a little
bit on the other side at San Diego Sports seven
sixty Live my Heart radio app.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
You know what's unbelievable, Shaffer and Sleewood get.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
Him, oh Man, Little Scheduling.
Speaker 5 (21:26):
Co booted me for Schaffer and Sleewick.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Well, I'm sure it was an excellent interview done by
John Schaeffer and Allen Sleewab. But if you would like
an Honors Driver bobblehead, the first twenty thousand in on
Saturday tomorrow, we'll be getting those. So we got Joe
Dreams in studio. We are living Joe Dreams today on
a Friday. It's a feel good Friday. And I was
talking to Joe during the commercial break. He's launching a
new podcast soon where he's asking people about their dreams.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
What is it? It's dreams, so destination, destination.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Reason, reason, energy, energy, amigos.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Amigos, mindest, mindset, mindset, and nothing with the z Z.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
That's just for some flair. We'll figure out the z later.
That's right, But I can't wait to listen. Man, Sammy,
he has invited us to be on his podcast. Yes,
so we're gonna have to do that at some point
and new episodes weekly, new episodes.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (22:12):
So right now, I'm working on a program called Dream Week,
and I have a web developer who's working on it
and he's about ninety percent complete, already finished filming it
and everything like that. So how it works is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,
d r e a m. The students get well or
you don't have to be a student. You know, parents
could get it too as the ten minute videos at
the beginning of class. And only the students who complete
(22:34):
the Dream Week and show up all five days of
school get to see the Dream Assembly on Friday.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
So it's to aspire higher attendance for schools as well.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
That's so cool man, And uh, where can people follow you?
So Instagram just at Joe Dreams. Yeah, Joe Dreams, and
don't forget the Z.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Don't forget the Z, forget the Z YouTube.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Also, I know we're gonna play your Aztec song coming
up here in just a little bit.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
And then unfortunately we'll have to say goodbye to Joe
Dreams that you got a busy day and thank you
for taking this much time to hang out with us today.
It's an hour and a half of living Joe dreams. Wow,
already a half hour? Sorry half? I was like, Joe,
I told you my day started like five am. It's
a miracle. This must be something. This coffee. Yeah, actually
there was this morning on a bark our Friday over
(23:15):
on one on one five KGB. Check it out on
biggert TD in Fletch's YouTube page. But it is cool, man,
what you've done here. Everybody in San Diego knows your name.
You've become just such a fabric of what we are
as a community, especially in the sports scene. Now that
you're branching out, only good things can happen.
Speaker 5 (23:31):
You say that you perform a halftime Dude, that would
be a.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
Lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
Yeah, Samy's got all the connections we can talked to JD.
Speaker 5 (23:37):
You think, yeah, we're we're gonna make that happen.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
But yeah, actually we could definitely try to make that work,
all right, Joe. NFL schedule releases were yesterday.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
We're sitting about one hundred and fifteen days away from
the NFL season beginning. Sammy, lets you know a little
bit earlier. The opener will be the New England Patriots
and the Seattle Seahawks, which is a rematch of last
year's Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
But for a quick second, you talked about once a year.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
The creativity in the NFL kind of goes through the
roof the social media. Teams need a bit of a race.
Have you seen the movie Step Brothers Joe Dreams.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
I'm familiar with it, all.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Right, So the movie step Brothers with Will Ferrell and
John c Riley. The Las Vegas Raiders have two kind
of cringey, awkward, white dude quarterbacks who are both on
their teams, and so they made them kind of remix
the entirety of step Brothers while releasing their NFL schedule.
It worked so well, Like Fernando Mendoza and Kirk Cousins,
(24:31):
it was so good.
Speaker 5 (24:32):
Well, it is funny how the Chargers are one of
the first teams to take it seriously, the schedule race
versus just dropping it. And now it's become this big event.
I mean, the we talked about all week the NFL
schedule is it's the only league where people, you know,
it's appointment viewing for the schedule because.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
It's an event.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
Last night at five o'clock ESPN, their numbers had to
be huge because.
Speaker 6 (24:52):
It makes sense because in the NBA is like eighty games, Like,
how youre going to get excited about eighty matchups right right?
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Like one hundred and sixty eight we were in baseball.
Speaker 5 (25:01):
Exactly, so it's like you, I mean, you're getting in
in where you know the matchups are. You see front
loaded schedules, backloaded schedules. So yeah, I'm super excited. I
love how everyone overreacts today though about a team schedule,
like the Bears aren't making the playoffs and the Bengals
going to the super Bowl. It is funny when we
get that stuff.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
By the way, Niners Chargers is going to be December seventeenth.
It's a Thursday night football game, Sammy. So our our
trip that we were planning is getting a little trickier.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
I might have to take the next day off, especially
if the Nighters don't win that game. But we'll try
to make it work. See if it happens. But the
whole thing, I thought the Chargers was excellent. They did
the Halo theme. I thought it was hilarious. When it
got to their week against the Denver Broncos, they actually
had one of the Halo characters blow up the Broncos
character by hitting him in an ankle with a grenade,
(25:49):
which is a nod to bo Nix's ankle. Actually right,
I actually thought that the New York Jets.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Did you see what they did? Sammy the Jets?
Speaker 1 (26:00):
So the Jets did paint mixing, which has become like
a viral trend, and they had it mixed together for
whatever color the next appost.
Speaker 5 (26:07):
Yeah, okay, I did hear about this.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
It was so well done. It was just bling.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
I was like, if if the Jets could take that
and just be smarter with actual football decisions, you could
really blend the two.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
I mean, I thought the Jets did an excellent job.
The Tennessee Titans was hilarious. They went through the streets
of Nashville and just found random people who kind of
look like different NFL players for different teams, and they
would go up and tap them on the shoulder and be.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Like, hey, camp'scataboo is that you?
Speaker 1 (26:34):
It's just a dude walking around. He's like, what the
hell are you're talking about? Exactly right, But it was
every week of their schedule. It was really well done.
I love this time of year because this is all speculation.
It's all hope. It's Sammy thinks his Chiefs are going
to win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
I think the Chargers. It's not going to be the Chargers. Chargers,
it's the first year there's a there's our year. I
could feel it. This is a bone.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
Are you a native San Diego?
Speaker 6 (26:57):
I had a dream I had I had a dream
that the Chargers won the Super Bowl in twenty twenty six,
twenty seven because the games in January.
Speaker 5 (27:06):
Sure, when'd you have that dream? When'd you have the dream?
Speaker 3 (27:09):
I'm having a right now.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Right now? Are you a lifelong San Diego? Okay? And
you still root for the Chargers?
Speaker 5 (27:17):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (27:17):
Yes? About the Yellow, Yellow, and blue?
Speaker 5 (27:21):
That's interesting.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
How'd you feel when they left you? You were okay
with it?
Speaker 6 (27:24):
Our next door neighbor, how would you feel if your
neighbor moved across the street.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
I mean it's a little different moving to LA.
Speaker 6 (27:30):
Across this thing. If your Dean span house, empathy goes
a long way, right? What's going to increase your chances
of winning by being in a marketplace where you have
access to more resources? Why do you think LA and
New York will have so many championships? The Yankees have
you know what they think about you know, all the
championships in LA, New York have because they have an
(27:50):
unfair advantage with the market they're in. Dean Spans probably
knows that once they win the champions super Bowl, then
all the San Diego fans are going to come back
and they'll be back and all that stuff about them
moving is gonna go away.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
That's what he's betting on.
Speaker 6 (28:04):
I bet you anything, And that's exactly what would happened
if they won the super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
You know what, text one give us your thoughts on
what Dreams thinks about the said or the Los Angeles.
Speaker 6 (28:12):
Everyone, everyone in San Diego's mad. But once they win
the super Bowl, then all that's gonna go away and
we're gonna and everyone's in San Diego's be like we
never we never left.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
People stayed lower the whole time.
Speaker 5 (28:22):
I think exactly what's gonna happen. I think though, if
that were to happen, which the Chargers winning in the
playoffs is always you know, I mean, that's that's a
bolt prediction. But if that were to happen, if they
didn't thank San Diego and they just thanked LA would
be I think even the remaining fans that would be
dead to him down here in Santi.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
They're gonna thank them. Of course, you think.
Speaker 7 (28:41):
They would thank San Diego and they're jumping around the
field with the confetti all over the place. Of course,
theos is gonna talk about how he moved the team
and then you know, and thanks, and of course especially
Keenan Allen's on the team, so he's gonna put your
player from San Diego.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
So of course we got someone to root for.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
We'll see man bold predictions from Joe Dreams charged.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
The River's gonna be at the game.
Speaker 5 (29:04):
LT is gonna be on the field.
Speaker 6 (29:05):
You know, they're gonna have special seats in the super Bowl,
and they're gonna do all They're gonna be a part
of the press run and all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
Probably get the San Diego fans on boy.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
Of course, how about this, Joe.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
We got this text in from the eight five eighth
that says, I got into a fight with two Dodger
fans last year because they were talking down on Joe Dreams.
So I put them to sleep on the corner of
Jay and six.
Speaker 5 (29:23):
He named the corner.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
You remember that Joe Dreams.
Speaker 6 (29:26):
Hey living Joe Dreams is spreading love from love, not violence.
Don't fight dance, Don't fight dance.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
That's perfect.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
Oh man, Joe, it's been a pleasure having you in here. Man,
we'll let you get back to your day. I know
you're busy. Where can people see you this weekend? If
you're moving every busy, always productive, always productive, that's what
we like to hear.
Speaker 6 (29:46):
Yes, and well this with this weekend. Tonight, I'm gonna
be at Park Nightclub. I'm gonna be performing there around
nine thirty ten o'clock, so that's gonna be fun. And
I'm also gonna be going up to ead C to perform.
It's an easy see so it's gonna be a lot
of people are going to be inspired to live Joe
Dreams this weekend.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
That's for sure.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Live Joe Dreams. That's the message.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Thank you Joe for being here. It's San Diego Sports
seven sixty. We'll get to long shots on the.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Other side live on my Heart Radio app. I do
not have swag, but I try.
Speaker 5 (30:18):
I think I'm actually impressed with how you look like
you dressed up a little bit today.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Oh well, Joe Dreams was coming in studios.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
I know I can tell this is not usually Hawaiian
shirt Friday.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Yeah, I mean, I'm wearing a nice golf polo. It's
a good program too. It's the Shelter the Soldier. It's
the company that matches up dogs with veterans once they
get back from active service. So always proud to support that.
But it is San Diego Sports seven sixty. Back to
your regularly scheduled programs. We do something called long shots
every day.
Speaker 5 (30:43):
Now.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
I would like to start this off, Sammy.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
If I could with a quick story about maybe the
funniest betting story I've ever had happened to me in
my life.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Last night long shots. Did we win?
Speaker 5 (30:54):
We don't need to talk about long shots, Okay.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Then we'll skip right past that and get to this.
On Wednesday, I was approached by a friend of mine
who said, hey, I got me and another buddy. I'm
gonna put three bets on players to make the cut
in the PGA Championship. Okay, And I said make the
cut to make the cut, And I said, sounds great.
Speaker 2 (31:15):
I'm in how much money do you want?
Speaker 1 (31:17):
And so my buddy was in Vegas and he said,
we'll go twenty bucks each and I said, sounds perfect. Yesterday,
after the rounds were finished, I get a text from
the same guy or no. I texted him and I said, Hey,
that guy that you placed money on just to make
the cut, that Alex Smalley guy is playing pretty damn good.
In fact that yesterday at the end of the round
(31:37):
he was sharing the lead at three under part and
I was like, this is awesome, dude. It feels like
this BET's already goet a cash and he responded with
a screenshot of the bed. It's like, yeah, dude, we're
each gonna make like a thousand dollars and I was like, wait,
that can't be right. He put money on Alex Smalley
to win the entire tournament, who was a like one
hundred and seventy to number two right now, also one
(31:59):
hundred and seventy one to one odds before the tournament
even started. So I don't know how much of my
money got put on this, but I know that we
have a bet in for Alex Smalley, who's one shot
off the lead through two rounds, to win the whole
down thing that is, how does that even happen?
Speaker 5 (32:15):
And they're not offering a cash out right now.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
No, as of right, I would assume they have to
wait till the end of the day to offer a
cash out. But whatever the cash out is, I'm suggesting
we take it because I don't think Alex Smalley is
gonna win. But how funny is that that he thought
he was putting the bet in to make the cut
and the actual bet was for the guy to win,
and by some dumb stroke of luck, we're actually in
a pretty good spot right now.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
And if you knew this friend, you would get it it.
Things like this happened to him all the time.
Speaker 5 (32:39):
This is like, it's like a gambling as long as
you just throw some random money because you're like e
fit like I like, let's just let's just throw a
random bet and then of course it ends up hitting
when you like, you know, have a thought process of
it all. I it is fun, especially with golf. In
terms of gambling, you do have an ability to make
money because if you do place, either accidentally or on purpose,
(33:01):
a long shot to win. Look at this leader board
right now, I mean.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Yeah, you could have predicted this pot pot geter.
Speaker 5 (33:06):
Pod Geeter smally got her up. Yeah, I mean you
got tons of guys that were way down the list
that no one was picking to win this thing that I've.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
Shots so kind of fun. And thank you j Sills
for saying Ben has that hat swag. I do have
that hat.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
The basis all right, Sammy, let's get to long shots,
trying to make everybody some money. We got a lot
going on this weekend.
Speaker 5 (33:23):
I have I have a really large parlay that people
can can dice us.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
So we got Preakness, we got the Netflix MMA event,
the usual UF season action this weekend. Is there boxing
going on? There is boxing going on, boxing going on,
NBA playoffs, tons of baseball.
Speaker 5 (33:37):
I'm just gonna give a lot of picks and you
can do whatever you want with it.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
Why don't we like do three of them and then
you can give more picks, you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (33:45):
But I have I have so many. Just let's just
get to long shots.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
Smash it. You looking for some luck. I want to
win big. He was so money. We don't even know
what time to take a chance play. That's me and
his money. Quit long shots.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
Everything was going so well with Joe Dreams until I
brought up the Chargers text line. Not thrilled with that
a five A text time was you gonna say that
more like Joe nightmare people?
Speaker 5 (34:11):
Text line was not not living Joe Dreams When he
said that people in San Diego love.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
The Chargers, Yeah, that they'll welcome him back.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
That was the only thing I found disagreeable Other than that,
I thought I had a great time with Joe Dreams.
Speaker 5 (34:22):
Great time with Joe Dreams. All right, Preakness this weekend,
We're going to the track. Get your tickets in now listen.
Only three horses are running from the Derby in the
Prettness now right, yes, which is a little disappointing. That's
another conversation that it's a little bit of part of
(34:42):
the magic of the going is going for the triple crown.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
Yeah, hang on, like the Kentucky Derby, the pregnant is
it's supposed to be the best horses in the world,
and so people raced in one and they're like, oh,
my best horse in the world is just are these scams?
Speaker 5 (34:54):
Well, we'll get to this in the next hour. The
problem is is that these trainers can make money when
they wear a place in the derby, so they don't
want to lose value. And it's actually really hurting horse racings,
but going tempo.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Sell the horse. You just sell the byproduct of the horse.
Speaker 5 (35:09):
Actually being a horse by the way, that wins it. Like, hey,
go breathe, go breathe, go spend a week and just
go crazy, all right, going with the pick. I like
Taj Mahal Okay to win, we have some real value.
He is five to one right now. He is three
for three in his career at Laurel Park. Okay, so
everyone's he's one of the favorites, but not the exact favorite.
(35:32):
He also has the inside edges on the inside rail.
Twelve horses have won the Preatness from that spot. Okay,
so we like where he's at. He's familiar with this
with this track. I think he gets it done. I
like the value there five to one. I also like
as a little bit of a long shot pick. This
is just that. This is just a fun throw a
couple bucks on Napoleon Solo going off at eight to one,
(35:55):
not one of the top five favorites, but expected to
go finish fifth in the Wood Memorial. And he's one
of these horses that has a shot to win this thing.
He's been running well lately. I like Taj Mahal. You
want a long shot Napoleon solo. All right, let's go
to the MMA. Gina Carano, Ronda Rousey. Gimme Rona Rousey
minus one a three by submission. Now this is almost
(36:16):
two to one, but I think she's gonna dominate this fight,
Gina Carano. Now, Rona Rowsey has been out for a
while of the UFC. Gina Carna has been not even longer,
and she never fought in the UFC. There're two very like.
The difference in leagues between the UFC Professional Fighters League
and all the other ones is not even comparable.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
And Ronda Rousey at her peak was a killer.
Speaker 5 (36:41):
Right, and she has the ultimate She has the arm
bar that she can get to. I like minus one
a three on the submission. I think she's too skilled.
I think Rona Rowsey gets some real get back here
against Gina Kuram. All right, down the card, We're gonna
find some value here. Plus one sixty five. I love
Anganu to go over on rounds against Lynn Okay, one
(37:03):
and a half rounds. I like the over. I think
we forget that. And Ghana's thirty nine years old and
Lynn is a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu. Everyone
looks in and ghan Who's highlights when he's knocking everybody out,
one of the big stars of the UFC. But again,
I think that's kind of a sucker bet. Everyone thinks
he's gonna run in there and get a ko immediately.
(37:23):
He's been inactive out of the ring.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
I would also say a Netflix events probably gonna go
a little differently than a normal UFC event. I do
think a little bit more of this is propping up
to show aspect.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Of it is that.
Speaker 5 (37:37):
I don't know if that applies for Anghano as much,
but I know you're saying, but it.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
Might be like, hey, Ghanu, like, don't just knock him
out ten seconds in?
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Maybe totally with it a little bit.
Speaker 5 (37:47):
I just I don't think he's going to because he's
been out of the cage for a long time. Let's
not forget. He fought Tyson Fury, fought pretty well in boxing,
fought Anthony Joshua. Anthony Joshua blasted him with the right hand.
Sometimes when you get like that, you're never the same.
I like, over one and a half rounds plus one
sixty five get you some value there, all right? Onto
the Association Pistons Cavs. This game is tough. I'm gonna
(38:11):
go under two ten and a half. We're going back
to the under now. We just should have hit the
other night, but they went to overtime and it didn't.
We're finding some value there. Kate Cunningham is unbelievable. This guy.
He's one of the best players in the NBA. Problem
is kay Conaham gets zero help and Dennis Jenkins or
Dannis Jenkins is a very talented player, but he's shreaky.
Carris LeVert had not been shooting the ball well in
(38:32):
that last game. I think you're lacking, especially on the road,
a tough environment. Some other scorers from from the Pistons
and outside of Harden and Mitchell kind of taken over late.
I do think the Pistons are gonna come out with
their hair on fire, at least defensively in this game,
because they feel like they got robbed a little bit
in that game five. I like the under two ten
and a half. In that game, I know Textaan's gonna
(38:54):
get upset. They're going too for betting against his perst
and Man's got something tonight plus five and a half
Minnesota is winning this game outright. We're gonna take them
with the points plus five and a half. I don't
see them going now without a fight.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
Look.
Speaker 5 (39:09):
Game five, they came out Wenby was ejected from the game.
The Spurs were pissed. They know the the Timberwolves did
small ball late was able to kind of take advantage
of Wemby being out. Anthony Edwards has some comments, but
they're actually tougher to guard when Wemby is not in
the In the game, Wenby took it out on them
and they were able to blow them out in the
second half. I think in Minnesota they have been here before.
(39:33):
There's a lot of pressure on Anthony Edwards, a lot
of pressure on the Timberwolves as a whole. Julius Randold
has not played very well the series. His high for
points in a game is seventeen. I expect Randall at
home to play better in this game. I think they
get to win. I love getting the plus five and
a half at home.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
Weis still going? Or is that it?
Speaker 5 (39:50):
I do have one?
Speaker 1 (39:51):
More?
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (39:52):
What is it?
Speaker 5 (39:52):
Okay? Boxing? Keishaw Davison here Albright minus one thirty five
on the KO. He's a massive favorite at minus fifteen hundred,
so there's no in that taking out al Bright. This
is a rematch. Last time he's two fought Albright fought
his brother. There was some some scuffles post fight kind
of set Keyshaw Davis' career back a little bit. He
is one of the bright young stars in boxing. He
(40:14):
has the ability to be a top five poundful pound fighter.
He barely missed wait today, but that's a good thing
for us. That means that once he makes weight, he's
gonna be able to gain even more. I think minus
one thirty five. I think he blasts Albright within six rounds,
gets him out of there.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
I like it a lot. All right, we'll get you
a recap. On the other side, we're running out of
time here. My phone died, so I'm gonna need that recap.
It's plugged in and charging now. But it is San
Diego Sports seven to sixty. Little surprised that Sammy didn't
follow the Alex Smawley bet that's taken over the world,
as he's one shot off the lead of the PGA Championships.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
Some what no one's ever heard of?
Speaker 1 (40:45):
All right, in San Diego Sports seven sixty quick break
here on the other side, Steve Hartman's going to join us.
We will get you ready for Padres Mariners this weekend.
