Speaker 2 (00:29):
All right, we say good morning to John Tucker from
the Bloomberg newsroom in New York, New York. We hear
it all the time, John, That AI is coming from
my job.

sony Ai have developed a table tennis robot with enough
speed and precision to beat even some expert ping pong players.
It's the latest matchup between biological and artificial intelligence. The
robot is dubbed ACE. It combines vision sensors, model free
(01:02):
reinforcement learning, and high speed robotic hardware.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
I am not surprised. I saw where one ran in
the marathon.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
The other day. Oh yeah, that was a Chinese marathon.
Yeah right, yeah, yeah, amazing and then it fell down
and tore itself to shreds. That's the truth. That's truth. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Ouch, yeah, yeah, I wonder that hurt. Yeah, no kidding.
How are the futures looking today?

I'm John Tucker News Radio seven hundred w LW.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
A eleven on the Morning Show seven hundred WLW. Letting
it ride. That is what Heather Brett has been doing
for a long, long time, over twenty five years as
owner and founder choreographer of dance Fix.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Many of you familiar with it.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
High energy adult class workout all kinds of different dances
and choreography and so forth, a lot of it to
help people get in shape or just to get out
and dance. And there's nothing more fun than dancing. I mean, really,
she's kind enough to join us this morning, Heather, good morning.
You're joining us because dance Fix is now all also
(02:24):
created a five oh one C three nonprofit organization called
Dance Fix Foundation.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Tell us what you're doing?
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Hi, Tom, Thanks so much for having me your morning.
Excited to be here, so many things. We're doing so
many things. So the Dance six Foundation is a separate
organization than Dance Fix for profit, and basically I wanted
to create it so that we could get more people dancing.
So it's basically a new nonprofit that it's dedicated to
(02:57):
cultivating health, happiness, and connection through but we're focusing on
tailor dance programs and classes for schools and youth discounted
in free classes for adults that live in the Walnut
Hills community around our studio, and then movement and community
focus gatherings for cancer patients, survivors, their healthcare providers, caregivers
(03:20):
all throughout Greater Cincinnati.
Speaker 5 (03:21):
So we've been busy.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
And you know what you're talking about because you are
a cancer survivor and obviously, I mean, this is your
business and your world. But once you were diagnosed with
cancer and to come back and actually start moving around again,
you know, for people out there that might be listening
that are like, man, I just feel like I can't
get up and get going again. This is a great
(03:43):
place to do it.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
It is and you know, we hear all the time
that you know, dance is healing, but it literally was
healing through my cancer treatment. So I went through cancer
a couple of years ago, as you said, and you know,
I thought, how am I going to do this with
teaching dance and going treatment? And I thought, I'm still
going to show up, and I did. And it really
was so beneficial for the physical piece, physical and mental health,
(04:08):
but also the community connection and the support from the
people that you're dancing with. So I wanted to make
sure to be able to take that to people that
are going through it just like I was. And so
we've been doing that as well.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
All right, now, you got a big event coming up
on the six that is the sixth of May, and
it's going to be in eden Park, which I still think.
I used to live up in eden Park, and I
still think it might be the coolest part of Cincinnati.
You're a little way, just a little bit off of
Mount Adams, which you spend most of your time in
if you live in Eaton Park.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
But you know, in Eaton Park is just so nice.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
But anyway, you're having a big kid dance day where
your partner and who with a ballet and the playhouse.
It's a huge event and a ton of kids. Great cause.
Tell us a little bit about the event on May
the sixth.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
Teaching in the schools already had about three hundred classes
in the year that we've formed a nonprofit, and we've
reached about briefelsand people and a lot of those are kids.
So we have been working in nine schools in Greater Cincinnati,
all different schools around Walda Hills and spread out, and
we've been teaching third and fourth graders a dance. Seven
(05:19):
hundred kids that are going to come together on May
six so they're going to be taking the buses in
lesupas providing lunch for all the kids that get a
T shirt they'll perform their dance. We have the fun
mascots there. We have Reds mascots FC Cincinnati and the
Queen Bee and Flying Pig mascots. And then we have
(05:41):
performances that the students will get to participate in or sea.
So we have Cincinnati Ballet Art Museum, Playoffs in the Park,
Drums for Peace, Revolution Dance Theater, the well Q Kids
there's an artist named Evan Vurilli that'll create a live
piece of art as the day is going on in
Cincinnati kung fu. So all the kids get to watch
(06:02):
this performance and then they'll get back up and perform
the dance they learned again. You know, it helps bridge
divides between the kids from different neighborhoods, different schools. They
get to do this together, building self confidence, learning to
move their bodies. You know, the kids that have been
shining in the schools maybe aren't dancing, aren't Maybe the
(06:23):
kids that shine in other areas cool. So it's been
really great to see the progression through our rehearsals. So
it's going to culminate in that big event on May
sixth at noon at the park.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
I had a chance tho pavilion at the Park.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Well, I had a chance to be a part of
this event. I don't know, four or five years ago
when you first started this and you since you know,
spun off into Dance Fixed Foundation. It is really really
cool because you know, in a day and age where kids,
you know, they're on their phone, they're on their tablets,
they're getting gobbled up in social media all this kind
of stuff. They're just out there being kids and dancing.
(07:01):
I just found it so uplifting.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
And it really is like I said, they leave there
just feeling so good about themselves and you know, have
a different idea of how the what their bodies can do.
So it creates a lot of joy. It's exciting.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Okay, now if people want to let's start. First of all,
let's say that you know, you're at a local school
and you're thinking, man, this sounds pretty good. How would
they go about getting in touch with Dance Fixed Foundation?
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Yeah, so really just through our website dance Fixfoundation dot org.
We have a contact sheet there, but they also could
email us at info at dance Fixfoundation dot org either way,
and we would love to add more schools next year.
This is going to be an annual event, which is
you know amazing. Do you mind if I talk about
how we this is even made possible?
Speaker 1 (07:53):
I would love it, love it of course of course.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
So we have some great sponsors this year. It's our
very first You're as Kids Dance Day, and we have
PNG as our large sponsor, and then we have the
soup that is, like I said, making all of the lunches.
They've been extremely generous one key recycling interact for health
and then the Cincinnati Parks Foundation is generously allowing us
(08:18):
to use the season Good Civilian and eat in Park,
So we've been super grateful for that, and just all
of the things we do are made possible from you know,
individual donations, this corporate sponsorship grants. We just received an
arts Wave grant for limited mobility tap classes and line
dancing that we'll be offering free this summer. So we
(08:38):
really appreciate all of the support from all the different
areas to make it happen.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
And maok, but you've had dance fixed for a long
long time, and I've always said, now, this is a
different kind of dancing. But I've always said that back
when Polly and I were practicing a dance and went
to a dance school for a while, you know, and
we've never done it since, and I always say to her,
I feel you neive this. I feel like we miss
something by not going because we had such a great time.
(09:04):
So if people want to do that, okay, maybe they're
just you know, wanting to get a little healthier or
make some connection or whatever it might be. Where would
someone find information on your for profit dance Fix.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
Oh, that will just that will be under dance Fix
Cincinnati dot com. But under the Foundation, like we just said,
the line dance class, so we do have some adult
stuff through that as well. So the free line dance
class that we're going to do because of Arts Wave
this summer. You would love that and Polly would love
it too. It's outside, it's amazing, it's a really great
(09:40):
fun class and it just gets you moving with a
group of other people that you know, want to enjoy
themselves too.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Well, Heather Britt, We're lucky to have you in our town.
You've been to do great work for a lot of people,
a lot of unselfish work for a lot of people
a long long time. And here you go with even
another endeavor in that regard and reaching out to cancer patients,
to kids, to adults who maybe couldn't afford to go
you know, do whatever. And so we can't thank you
(10:07):
enough for your time today. And again the event is
at noon on May the sixth. It's called Kids Dance
Day and that will be at Eden Park. Can't wait.
Thank you for your time today and good luck with
the event. Alrighty, it's eight twenty Chuck, what's happening out there,
my friend on the roadway.
Speaker 6 (10:27):

seventy three. Before I get out of here today, I
want to send out a special thank you. I told
(23:15):
the story the other day of leaving here two three
days ago, and there were two geese that were walking
down the road where you come into our garage off
of Montgomery Road, Busy Road. They had four little babies
with them that were just sitting in the middle of
(23:36):
this road. And as you know, I talk all the
time about rescuing dogs or cats or animals. I'm an
animal guy. I love them. I think you learn a
lot about a person how they treat animals. But there's
a fella here in town named James Longbottom.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
So I just googled.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
I said, you know, how could I help get these
geese and their babies to a safe place water around here?
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Right?
Speaker 2 (24:02):
And so I reached out to a place called long
Bottom Bird Rescue. Jimmy at Longbottom Bird Rescue dot org
and Loakita know me.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
I don't know him.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
He has come once, he's come twice, he's come three times.
Apparently the Madeira police helped out and moved them and
we're trying to figure out where because Jimmy would like
to get them to a spot with lots of water.
So thanks to all, really appreciate it, and just beautiful stuff.
(24:38):
I mean to help those without a voice, whether they're dogs, cats, geese, whatever,
To help those without a voice says a lot about
who you are. Long Bottom Bird Rescue, Good folks, Jimmy,
well done, all right, we'll catch you Tomorrow eight fifty four,
