Speaker 1 (00:02):
When you need to know she's got you. It's Three
Things with Tip.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Good morning. We're just before eight o'clock at e I'm sorry,
we're just before nine o'clock. At nine oh five, I
have your chance to win free trip out to Vegas
for our iHeartRadio Music Festival, plus an extra thousand bucks.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
We're gonna start off.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
With new music Friday, and I typically save that as
the last thing in Three Things, but I think this
is a big deal. Just announce yesterday that Lincoln Park
is making a return. So they were huge in the
two thousands, obviously, but their new album from Zero is
coming out on November fifteenth, and I think it actually
(00:43):
came with like four or so tour dates the big
cities right La, New York, Sydney, Tokyo, London. Maybe I
could don't quote me on it, but I think I
remember scrolling past a post with and tour dates on them.
The reason why this is a big deal they took
a set year hiatus after lead singer Chester Bennington died
(01:04):
by suicide at the age of forty one, and it
was just heartbreaking for the music community and I'm sure
for their own inner circle. So they I love how
they're making their return though. They dropped a new single,
so I'm gonna play the song for you. It's called
Emptiness Machine, and they have a new co lead singer.
Her name is Emily Armstrong.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
I'll talk about her after I play the clip you
cut me out? Okay, girl, get it Before Lincoln Park,
(01:52):
Emily sang for a band called Dead Sarah. And then
they're also adding a drummer named Colin Brittan. I haven't
heard of either of these two, but I love I
love that she's a lady. I love that like a
brand new chapter for Lincoln Park. Of course, just because
I know you've come to expect it. Let's revisit some
of the Lincoln Park.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Hits, very very cool.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
That song is always in like every Spider Man Marvel
DC universe. It's like like directed by Michael Bay right,
it's you know, the very the character we thought was
dead and then the last like six seconds of the
movie you see them twitch and then it's like that song, right,
you know what I'm talking about. It's so good, I mean,
(02:55):
an iconic collaboration of its time. And then we'll get
into one more so iconic. I know I've already taken
up a lot of your time, So going off on
a tangent is probably not the right idea right now.
But it brings me back to when I was working
(03:17):
in Boston and I was in the music department. I'm
still in that same music department here for Cincy, but
I got my start there at the radio station in Boston.
And after Chester Bennington passed. I'll never forget this, their
record label, Warner Brothers at the time, came in to
share the news with us, to talk about what was
the plan for Lincoln Park, what was going to happen.
(03:38):
This was back in twenty seventeen, and I'll never forget.
Her name was Katie. She came in tell us the
news and she just sat down and she sobbed. It
was just such a hard time for that label and
just fans and the music industry in general. All Right,
where are we going next?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Second? And three things you need to know?
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Let's do an. I know we should probably move on
from new music, however, I want to play a new
one from Camilicabayo.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
This is called Godspeed.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
It's off the extended version of her album which came
out in June. Just Speak. That album didn't do well
(04:37):
commercially as far as radio hits, but I do have
a couple of singles off of it that I enjoy.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
All right.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Lastly, and three things you need to know this morning.
What a time, just what a time for football. Of course,
our Bengals getting ready to kick off Sunday against my
New England Patriots.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
I'm gonna root for both.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
I think that you can just do both.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
That's what I'm gonna do. I'm really excited.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
I might you know, you'll have to follow along on
social media because I'm hoping to get some Boston content
for you guys, some Boston accents. But the big thing
was Travis and Taylor at the game last night. We've
talked about it at length, but the media was all
over it, including the NFL, including the broadcasters, including the Chiefs.
(05:20):
Everyone bought into the fact that Taylor was going to
be there. The one thing that I noticed, though, that
was when Travis was leaving hand in hand with Taylor
after they're like barely their win, he was holding a
garage beer. I said, rivals yet lovers at the same time.
That is three things you need to know for the
sixth of September coming up next at nine oh five
(05:41):
your chance to win that free trip to Las Vegas
for our iHeartRadio Music Festival.
