Speaker 7 (01:32):
You're waking up with this in the morning. Hi, kis
one O seven one?

Speaker 8 (01:36):
Do you have to pay your parents to babysit your children?

Speaker 7 (01:39):
We're going to talk about there here in a second.

Speaker 8 (01:42):
Quickly though, if you want to run the Thanksgiving Day
race with me this coming a week from today with
FC Cincinnati, I have free race pips. All you have
to do is shoot me a quick message on Instagram.
I have a couple more to give away at the
Tiff to F's Potter like the Wizard. All right, in
today's Talk Back with Tiff, do you have to pay

(02:02):
your own parents.

Speaker 7 (02:03):
To babysit your kids?

Speaker 8 (02:04):
I don't know if we're gonna get a lot of
calls on this here in the Tri Stay. I'll give
my number five win three seven, four nine one o
seven to one. So the reason why I'm talking about
this this morning is because I was tapping through stories
yesterday and my friend Ashley from Boston said that such.

(02:25):
She said something about she had put like a question
pull up or something like that says do you have
to pay your parents to babysit your own kids? And
there were some responses that said yes, And so I
messaged her and said, what, who's doing this? She said, Tiffany,
it's wild the amount of people that have hit her
up and said, oh yeah, my mom or my dad

(02:48):
or my family of the if I want them to
watch my kid, I'm paying them fifteen twenty dollars an hour.
And I was like, wow, you know, I have no
judgment either way. I just I don't know why I
found that so surprising. Like I said, I don't know
if it's happening.

Speaker 7 (03:06):
Here in the Tri State or not.

Speaker 8 (03:07):
I mean, I'm sure it is, or there's always something
happening somewhere, but I would I guess I don't have
any kids, so it's wrong of me to assume that
in the clurb we all fam right, if we're all
in this together, you know, Mom's helping out here or there.
I guess if I were to look at my own siblings,

(03:29):
my stepsister, like my dad watches you know, Hunter gets
Hunter off the bus, my step mom would watch Kaylen.

Speaker 7 (03:35):
I would watch Kaylan.

Speaker 8 (03:36):
It just it was kind of like a like a trial,
like a five family. I mean the clerb we all
fam so five one three seven four nine one o
seven one. Do you pay your parents to babysit your
kids or are you a parent and you do charge
your kids to babysit?

Speaker 7 (03:50):
I'm curious.

Speaker 8 (03:52):
I'm gonna get right into it because I didn't even
think we were gonna get one single call. Meanwhile, my
phone lines have never been more full for this.

Speaker 7 (03:59):
You're waking up.

Speaker 8 (04:00):
It's him in the morning on kiss one oh seven one.
Do you have to pay your parents to babysit your kids?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Hi? Yes, I do have to pay my parents to
watch my kids. My son deals with mental health. Okay,
my mom feels like I should have to pay her
instead of her just actually just being able to keep him,
even though it may be only an hour at a time.

Speaker 7 (04:20):
Yeah, are you okay with having to pay or does
it bother you?

Speaker 1 (04:24):
I don't it bothers me because she lives with me too.
She does.

Speaker 8 (04:29):
You're the second person that I've heard the same scenario
that she lives in your house and you have to
pay her to watch your kid.

Speaker 7 (04:35):
Why does that feel so weird to me?

Speaker 1 (04:37):
And she doesn't help with any bills?

Speaker 7 (04:39):
What's your name? What neighborhood? You wake it up with me?
And thank you for the call.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Melissa maulhealthy, Melissa.

Speaker 8 (04:45):
I'm gonna just try to filter through these as fast
as I can.

Speaker 7 (04:48):
High you're on the arm.

Speaker 9 (04:49):
So yes, I actually do have to pay my parents,
even if it's just gas money or just the fact
that I have to pay them to watch my kids.
This is crazy, and it's the same thing on my
husband's side. Wow, It's not like we're like paying them
for the daycare or you know, for them to be babysat.

(05:10):
But it's always like, oh, we need gas money or
oh we need something, So it's not free and it's
unfair because we are the same kids who were dropped
off at our grandmother's houses or whoever you know, for
the weekend for free, So that's definitely unfair.

Speaker 7 (05:26):
You make a good point.

Speaker 8 (05:27):
Now you're the second caller I've gotten this morning that
has felt kind of slighted by it.

Speaker 7 (05:31):
What's your name, by the way, with neighborhood? You waking
up with me in this morning?

Speaker 9 (05:34):
My name is Canise. I'm waking up through Fairfield. Oh
my gosh, I'm so excited.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
I listen to you every day.

Speaker 9 (05:40):
It's so crazy to hear your wife.

Speaker 7 (05:41):
Uh, Canise, So thank you very much for the call.
Guys here, I thought.

Speaker 8 (05:46):
I was going to be alone like talking about this.
This is crazy to me. I still haven't heard from
a parent that does charge. I'd like to hear from
you as we continue this convo. Five win three seven
four nine one O seven one.

Speaker 7 (05:59):
Hi, good morning, your.

Speaker 8 (05:59):
Way up with TIF in the morning on kissuan oh
seven one. I mean it when I say I've never
gotten this many phone calls on a topic before. You're
in the middle of a talk back with Tiff right now?

Speaker 7 (06:09):
Do you charge?

Speaker 8 (06:11):
I'm sorry, do your parents charge you to watch your children?

Speaker 4 (06:14):
All?

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Right?

Speaker 8 (06:15):
Good morning, you're on the air. Your mom charges your niece?

Speaker 10 (06:21):
Yeah, my niece is actually home. She just needs a
little bit of sleep after working third shift, and I'm like, Mom,
you should definitely just enjoy spending time with these kids.
I mean, they're your great grandkids. Enjoy the time you
spend with them. Don't charge her. She's working her butt
off just to make meat, and now you're charging her
as well when you're retired and you don't have anything.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Else to do.

Speaker 7 (06:44):
What does she say to that? I'm so curious.

Speaker 10 (06:48):
She said she has to make money somehow too.

Speaker 8 (06:52):
Oh my gosh, Well, what's your what's your name? What
neighborhood you waking up with me in this morning?

Speaker 10 (06:57):
My name's Jill calling from Hamilton.

Speaker 8 (06:59):
Jill, thank you for the I don't mean to filter
through these quickly, but I am just curious.

Speaker 11 (07:04):
Hi, good morning. So my parents will never and have
never asked to be paid, but I will frequently pay
them in gift cards gas cards, kind of give them
almost like a little bonus every couple of weeks just

(07:24):
for being so amenable and driving my kids two different events.
My husband and I both work, and so it's really
difficult to try to get the kids to all their
sporting events and their practices, and my parents are always
amenable to doing that.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
And so I have.

Speaker 11 (07:42):
Zero problem making sure that I also financially pay them
for those those types of acts.

Speaker 7 (07:50):
Okay, what's your name? What neighborhood? You waking up with me?
And I love this take.

Speaker 11 (07:54):
Yeah, so my name is Abby and I live in Coleraine.

Speaker 7 (07:57):
Cole Rane. Abby. Thank you.

Speaker 8 (07:59):
I love the fact that you like it and we're
all in this together, is what it kind of is
coming off as there's a line between entitlement, right and
and not. So I like that you don't feel entitled
that your parents should watch your children, and you kind
of say, hey, here's a little treat, thank you.

Speaker 7 (08:17):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 8 (08:18):
Here's a Starbucks, here's this, here's some cash, go buy
some beer, you know, rather than an actual transaction like
a Venmo thing.

Speaker 7 (08:26):
I don't know what it is. Oh my god.

Speaker 8 (08:28):
This is a good place to leave it, because we
got to dive into the three things you need to
know to get your day started, and since you will
do that right after Sean Paul, if you want to
comment on this and I didn't get to you, you
can always DM me at the tiff to F's Potter
like the Wizard.
