is Peter Ames Carlin, who's written many biographies of rock
and roll legends. RIM's been around for decades, originating out
of Athens, Georgia, with four members Bill Barry the drummer,
Peter Buck on guitar, Mike Mills on bass, and of

course the frontman's singer, Michael Steife. The author makes the
point often that this million sellar rock group came along
at just the right time the nineteen nineties and may
have helped nudge Bill Clinton into the victory column for president.
