Inside the Commication Center District Final action between the Circleville
Tigers and the Waverly Tigers. I'm Chris posted joined alongside
by my father, coach Lou post As coach.

It's good to be back in the combo.

It sure is. And tonight is district final night here
with a doubleheader and two teams are going to go
home with a district title. Tonight does not get any
more exciting than that. Looking at this one. Circleville comes
in twenty one and two. They were eleven to one
out of the Mid State League. Head coach Evan Callahan. Yeah,

this is a team team that's had a historic season.
You talk about them winning the league title for the
first time in over forty years, first Mid State League
title ever, and now they get a chance to do
something else historic and win the first district title since
the late nineties. So you know, Hopefully this continues on
for the Circleville Tigers, who's had a heck of a run,

and for Waverley fourteen and ten overall, four and six
out of the Southern Ohio Conference Division three.

They are head coach by first year head coach Tarn Jarre.

Yeah, they've really done a good job this year. We
saw them early against a Zane Trace team who beat
them at Zane Trace. But this is a team that's
not real deep when you talk about their bench, but
very skilled with the players they have. And you know
it's a young team because there's no seniors on this team,
so they're all coming back. But the thing about this

is their experience. They've been in this spot before. Last
year lost in the district finals to Unioto right here
on this floor, So all of these players have been
here before. That's the advantage they have over Circleville. Circleville's
players have not for Circleville. They come in riding a
sixteen game win streak dating back to December the twenty

seven that was a loss to rival Tays Valley. Offensively,
the average fifty six point nine points per game, defensively
giving up thirty nine point eight their district semi final
win was on Sunday against Gallia. Colt Nungester leading scorer
with twenty two, travel with thirteen, Jenkins with thirteen.

And flying with twelve. Four guys in double figures there.

Yeah, you talk about their scoring, very balanced scoring. It
all goes through Coltonungus Virgo. He distributes the ball extremely well.
He can score it in many different ways. But this
team prides itself on defense. This same team is known
for its defense and they can get after you and
make things difficult, not only in the full court but

also in the half court. It make they make teams
hard on teams for them to run their offense, and
that's what Circleville is known for. For Waverley fifty point
four points per game, giving up forty eight point five.
Their district semi final game here on Sunday was a
win against New Lexington forty four to thirty five. Yeah,

and their team, they're fine with a low scoring game.
They do not want necessarily to have a high scoring
run up and down to four type game. They've got
some strength inside and you know everything goes through Alexander,
very good player KG Alexander. But they also have capable
guys inside the Myers Boys, Rosenberger, and also Land and Russell.

I thought Land and Russell really keyed their victory the
other nights, and he does a lot of things that
make this team go. District championship on the line for
this one. The winner will advance to the regional tournament.
They'll play the winner of our second district final matchup
tonight between un Yoda and Washington Courthouse. The regional tournament

will be hosted here at Ohio University starting Wednesday. Regional
semi final action underway over at Ohio Dominican. You can

testament to how tough that conference is for them to
