We'll call it. It's a pretty good one.

He's hopefully somewhere very sunny and comfortable. It's finally the
sun has come out here today at the VA, after
a little bit of rain about an hour ago. But
the field looks great as we get set for some
high school baseball here at ninety four Country WKKJ. The
Logan Elm Braids taking on the Southeastern Panthers. Logan Elm

(00:52):
coming into this game four and five, they're two and
four out of the Mid State League Buckeye Division. Southeastern
enters at four and two. They are three and two
right now third place in the Sada Valley Conference.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Southeastern will be the home team.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
They wear their royal blue tops with panthers in script
across the chest in white black outline white numbers with
the back outline front and back. They have the American
flag right above the number on the backs of those
jerseys with a little bit of white trim on the
edges of the sleeves. They wear their home white pants.
They have blue pin stripes and a thicker blue piping
down the side, blue belts. They have white caps with

the blue bill, and for the visitors today, the Logano braves.
They wear black tops with red and white trim. Braves
in script in red with a white outline across the chest,
white numbers front and back with the red outline. They
wear white pants here today with the black piping down
the side, red socks and belts, and they wear a
red cap with the black bill and the Brave's logo

on the front. All turf surface here at VA Memorial Stadium,
just put down before the last season. Three twenty five
down the left field line three sixty five to left center,
just shy of four hundred to the right center field flagpole.
It's more towards center field than right center. It's about
three fifty two straightaway right center and then down the

line in right three twenty five. It's a twelve foot
wall except for the section in front of the scoreboard
that is an eight foot wall. Lights off here to
start today's game. We thought we might need them because
of some of the rain cells that were moving through earlier.
But it has cleared up very nicely for a seventy
four degree about first pitch, and the wind has died

down a bit as well. It's a picture perfect day
for some baseball. And if lou was here, he tell
you that they guaranteed it. He said, every time we've
been here, the weather's been absolutely gorgeous, and it's not
any different here today. Starting lineups look like this for
the Logan El and Brave, so again are the visitors.
It'll be Brady f the pitcher leading off. Cam Ebert

bat second and does the catching. Kelton Bennington will play
shortstop and bat third. Third baseman Zane Seemer bat's fourth,
second baseman Blake swice Good bats fifth. Designated hitter Blake
summers Well bat sixth, batting seventh. The right fielder Logan Hurley,
center fielder Lucas Biley will bat eighth, and the first
baseman Lucas Gentry will bat ninth. And when the Braves

are in the field, Lane Manson will play left field
for Southeastern. Bryson Kessler leads off in right field, Colton
Baxter will bat second and do the catching. Shortstop Gage
Cheetle bats third. Brandon Burns bats fourth in centerfield. Second

Huff bats sixth and does the pitching. Third baseman Isaiah
Cosby bats seventh. The first baseman Landon Brown bats eighth.
Left fielder Landon Welch bats ninth, and again on the mound,
Brady Neff finishing up his warm up tosses for the
Southeastern Panthers. Both of these teams coming off of losses yesterday.

For Southeastern it was a ten to six SVC loss
to a Dina yesterday and for Logan Elm they fell
to Hamilton Township and MSL Buckeye Play eight to five,
so both teams looking to bounce back and get back into.

Our first batter, Brady Neftig's in the box on the
right side. It's a pitcher pitcher matchup here. Nef will
be on the mound when we go to the bottom
of the first inning as CJ. Huff works out of
the stretch right handed, fires first pitch off speed, swung
on a mist and we are underway here at five
to six again seventy four degrees here at first pitch

on a gorgeous April day late and begin middle late
April day here early in this high school baseball season.
Here's the one from Huff and that one hit on
the ground. A third one hop glove near the back
by Cosby. One hopper thrown at first and it's in

Isaiah Cosby here to start the ballgame. Long throw there
Nef aboard to start the ballgame is Cam Ebert will
step in next defensively for Southeastern Landon Welch, Branden, Burns,
Bryce and Kessler left to right across the outfield, Isaiah

Here's right handed hitting catcher Cam Ebert. He digs in
on the right side with a runner at first and
nobody out. Just second batter of the ball game. Huff
fires in a swing and a miss at a breaking
ball down and the count nothing in one. The Southeastern
middle infield is extremely athletic. With Cheatle at short and
a quarter at second, they're pinched looking for a double

One pitch misses down and away in the count, even
at a ball and a strike to Cam Ebert. Cam
hitting three ninety three to start the year. Three RBIs
he has hit three doubles in a triple so far

a chance to help his team out from the play

I don't know if that means that he hasn't pitched

We were given some stats for ten players. We got
some stats for CJ. As a batter, but not as
a pitcher. The two to zero pitch is a strike
on the outside corner called and now two and one
bases loaded, one out top of the first one nothing

left field but right at land and Welch makes the catch.
Tagging at third is Ferris on his way home. The
throw is cut off by the pitcher. It's a sack
fly for Blake Summers and Logan Elm leads to nothing.
So Summers picks up his fifth RBI of the year.

Everyone else stays put, so Seemer at second swice could
at first. Now with two down and the seventh batter
of this first inning, for Logan Elm stands in Logan Hurley,
another left handed bat, right fielder who hasn't gotten much
opportunity yet this season. Pitch upstairs here a ball, just

two walks the game certainly a point they're going to
try to improve. They've already got one here in the

And we talked about it last week in the game
we covered can be much better feeling for a visiting
pitcher than when you go out to the Mountain for
the first time and you already have a little bit
of run support and you have a lead to work with.
A thing you want to do is just get back

a double play ball the third batter after giving up
a single. If they were only able to get one,
you know, Logan elm was able to score two in
the top half of that first inning, So two nothing,

the high school season compared to a longer season like
college or pro. Everybody is going to go for twenty.

It seems like at some point at that level, here's

you see reasons long enough that you can absorb that
and still hit for a pretty good average and have
a good year in high school. That's that's a pretty
