Hello and welcome Ohio University inside the Convocation Center. Sweet
sixteen action here Regional semi finals between yun Yoto and Circleville.
I'm Chris posted join alongside by my father. Coach Lou
posted coach, it's good to be back inside the combo.

And that first game showed how this convo can be
electric with the amount of people that John Glenn and
Maysville broad here. Mayswell wins that game, so the winner
of our game will face them. But what an atmosphere
and what a time of the year. I mean, you
get to the regionals. Whole different ballgames. Exciting matchup here

between U Nyoda and Circleville matchup from back in February.
On February thirteenth, the double overtime thriller Circleville comes out
on top sixty six to fifty nine. Nongus are led
all scoring in that game with twenty eight, Bitch with
twenty one and Koy with twenty one. That was an
exciting one back in Chilli. Goothy. Now we're gonna do

it over again in Athens, Ohio. Yeah. I think a
lot of people after that game wanted that game to
continue because it was such a good high school basketball game,
both teams really putting it out there on the floor,
and talking to both teams last week there in the
district finals after they won, both teams were looking forward
to this and getting this game back again, and it's fun.

It's two teams that aren't very far away, two teams
that are really good basketball teams, and hopefully the fans
here tonight are treated to a good game.

We look at Circleville.

They come in twenty two and two overall, eleven and
one out of the Mid State League. Their head coach
is Evan Callahan. They're on a seventeen game winning streak
since their January loss to Taines Valley.

They're really rolling.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
They are, and we've talked about this before being a
historic season for this Circleville Tiger team, you know, winning
the first league title in a long time, first Mid
State League title ever, and then winning a district title
for the first time since nine.

What ninety seven we said?

And tonight they're also looking to add to the historic season.

They have twenty two wins.

That's tied for the most in Circleville boys basketball history
that dates back to seventy five seventy six, Chris, that's
fifty years ago. This team, with a wins tonight, can
add to their historic season with win number twenty three
and for.

UNIODO twenty and three.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Overall, they were perfect in the Iota Valley Conference fourteen
and head coach Matt Colms they are fourteen and one
dating back to January thirds and that only loss was
that double overtime thriller to these guys.

Yeah, and you know, talking about Mac Combs, his first
two years at Uniota have been really good. Forty two
and seven, I believe is the record. Two league titles,
has not lost in the league yet, two district titles.
That's a pretty good start to your career. Now, he's
not new to basketball by any means. He had a
great career of Victon County. But coming back to his

high school, his alma mater, his team this year has
done an outstanding job going through the league again undefeated,
and you know it's going to come down tonight to
some of these seniors really stepping up in this game.
And again that loss, that double overtime loss, is still
there for him and they still want to avenge that.

We look at Curpleville offensively fifty six point seven points
per game, defensively giving up thirty.

On Thursday, their district championship game, they beat Waverley fifty
one to forty two.

Nonguess, they're the leading scorer with seventeen.

Yeah, and again that was a struggle for them.

You know that first half they did not play the
way they they wanted and the second half they really
turned it on. And circle ball posed a real threat
to this Tiger team and they were able to respond
to that. And defense is where it comes in. As
you said, the only giving up thirty nine points a game.
You'll see that on both of these teams. Really good defense,

Like you said, almost identical numbers for you and Yoda
fifty five point five points per game defensively giving up
thirty nine point six Thursday, their district championship game was
a win over Cournhouse. Leading scorer was Isaac Hoy with
fifteen Lake fifth with fourteen, and Jack Wells with eleven points. Yeah,
and again they they basically did the same thing. Second half,

they really pulled away and was able to win that game.
The big thing here with both of these teams is
they've now played two games on this court and it's
an adjustment. We even saw that in the first game
here tonight. Those two games teams playing on this court
for the first time. These two are now comfortable with
the surroundings, the situation, the floor.
