Uniodo Shermans and the Logan Elm Braves. I'm Chris post
It's joined alongside by my father.

Sure is game two for us today here at Athens,
and you know it's it's District semi final time and
it's a great time of the year.

And we've seen two games.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Go in the books and we have our first district
final matchups set and that'll be Thursday night.

Speaker 3 (00:55):

Speaker 2 (00:57):
That'll be between the Circleville Tigers and the Waverley Tigers.
In our first game here at Ohio University, Circleville came
out victorious sixty eight to thirty six over Gallia Academy.
In the second matchup today, Waverley beat New Lexington forty
eight to thirty five. This is the third game of

four slated here at Ohio University for Logan ELM coming
in at eighteen and three overall fourteen and zero. A
perfect gold ball SVC game un Yoto.

Yeah, and you know they've had a tremendous season. Three losses,
all good teams that they've lost to. You look at
this Uniyoto team. They've only lost one game in the
last thirteen games, and that was to a Circleville team
that we saw earlier today who's already made it to
the district finals. That was a great double overtime game
that we called. And the other two losses were to

Chilli Cooedy who's also in the district final game indep three,
and also a very good Jackson team who Chillicothy defeated
in that district seminalfinals.

So this team, as.

Far as their three losses, they're all quality losses and
they've had eighteen quality wins, that's for sure. For loganel
now thirteen and ten overall eight and four in the
Mid State League head coach Nate Dropsy, they've earned the
seventh seed in this tournament. Yeah, they've won Strat five
straight coming into this game, so they're sort of on

a roll. In those five games, they've scored fifty five
points and only given up thirty nine. So they pride
themselves on defense, and you can see that in their
last five games.

They've had a.

Really tough schedule they've played all year long, and a
lot of those games that went down as losses were
hard fought losses for the people that won them. So
this team can play with a lot of teams. And
I'll tell you what, if they get going from the outside,
they can light it up. They can shoot very well
from three point line.

Yeah.

We saw this team at the Brad Morris Classic when
we were covering the West Falls Circleville game. They beat
a good Tays Valley team. But after that they went
on a stretch where they lost six of seven and
that's kind of why they fell to the seven seed.
But a team, like you said, we've seen them at
times and they can play with just about anybody when

they're knocking down from the deep.

Yeah, We saw them earlier two against Specsley at the
Zane Trace bof Classic. So they are a fun team
to watch, especially if they're shooting the ball well for.

Unyoda offensively fifty six point three points per game, defensively
only giving up forty point seven.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Their last game was a very impressive one.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
We saw that one at Unioda High School where they
beat Miami Trace sixty three to thirty five. And that
game scoring came from all over the place. Welch had seventeen,
Koy had fifteen, Zika Fous had twelve, and oh yeah,
I didn't mention their best player, Blake Fitch.

Yeah he's player of the Year in the league and
he's had a great year for them, a great career
for them. But yeah, that was very impressive what they
did to a Miami Trace team. It was a really
good team. But they're playing good basketball at the right time.
The thing of it is just like circle, Well, they've
had some time off, so you know, you never know
how that's going to play out, and talking to coach

Combs here before the game, they were able to schedule
a scrimmage and a lot of coaches do this because
of this type of situation where they they still have
an extra scrimmage that they're allowed to do, and so
he was able to find a scrimmage and went up
to OUC and scrimmage and you know, just to change
up pace in a long time off.

So we'll see how they come out here tonight.

For Logan Elm offensively giving up forty offensively scoring forty
six point five points per game, and defensively giving up
forty eight point two. Their last game was on Monday,
that was the district quarterfinals. To get them here tonight,
they beat McLean fifty one to forty. Scoring from them
came from a lot of places. Russell had fourteen that game,

Bennington had thirteen, Neth had ten, and Manson had ten.
That's not uncommon for them. They usually have multiple guys
in double figures every.

Night, dan as I said, their last five games, they've
really up there scoring average far as offense goes. So
they're getting well at the right time of the year.
And as you said, much like Unioto, they have multiple
guys that can score in bunches. So it'll be an
interesting matchup here tonight to really quality defensive teams.

This is the district semi finals here in the Division
four Southeast District tournament. The winner advances to the District
finals to play the winner of the night cap here
at Ohio University between Washington Courthouse and Mags. The district
