Speaker 1 (00:01):
The following is a presentation of iHeartRadio Sports. This is
High School Basketball on ninety four Country WKKJA. Today's game
is presented by Accurate Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing. Let's head
courtside for today's countdown to tip off. Here's Lou and
Chris Postage.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Hello and welcome to the historic grounds of Camp Sherman.
We're at Unyoda High School for tonight's non conference matchup
between Miami Trace and Uniyoda. I'm Chris Postage, joined alongside
by my father Tonight coach Lou Postage.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Coach.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
It's good to be here, it sure is.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
I mean, this is basically the last game of the
regular season. We do have some games being played next
week for the regular season, but we're in for a
good one here tonight. Uniyodo at seventeen and three, Miami
Trace at eighteen and two. These guys are These two
two teams are league champions.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
These two teams.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Are high up in their seeds for the district tournament,
and it's going to be a fun game here tonight.
We look at Miami Trace eighteen and two overall perfect
ten and oh gold ball season for them in the
FA seed Unyoto seventeen and three overall fourteen and oh,

(01:23):
a perfect gold ball season for them in the Iota
Valley Conference. Yeah, and this is a game that was
a rescheduled game because of some of the weather that
went on a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
And we're getting it here at the end.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
And both these teams are really hitting their stride, playing
extremely well, and they want to challenge themselves before they
get into the tournament. So tonight is it. It's going
to be a great atmosphere here tonight. And two teams
that can score and two teams that can play solid defense.
Last year of these two teams met in Miami Trace

(01:58):
coming out Victoria's seas sixty nine to fifty three. Jackson
Zickifers leading un Yoda in scoring in that game. When
you look at common opponents this year, both these teams
played Chillicothe, Jackson and Circleville. Miami Trace beat Chillicothe and
Jackson and both of their meetings against those teams, and
Unyoda lost to Chilligothi and Jackson and both of these

(02:20):
teams were beat by Circlevills. Yeah, and that circle ball
team we know is a really solid team. And matter
of fact, Circleville went on the road to defeat both
these teams went over to Miami Trace around Christmas time
and won that game, and then came here a couple
of weeks ago or a week ago and won right
here on this floor. So again, tonight's matchup is going

(02:43):
to be a solid matchup and I can't wait to
see for Miami Trace offensively scoring sixty two point eight
points per game, defensively giving up only forty seven point six.
Last night for them, it was a win seventy eight
to fifty nine against Wilton, and on Monday it was
a win sixty seven to thirty three. They're a team

(03:06):
that's won twelve straight games since that.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Loss to Circleville, and.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
They have undoubted, undoubtedly been one of the best teams
in Ohio this year. But tonight you can maybe put
an asterisk on that they're big man inside. Adam Guthrie,
the sixty eight senior, he won't be playing, yeah, and
he hasn't played the last four games actually, so you know,
you look at those four games, they're actually averaging sixty
seven points without him in the lineup. So there's had

(03:32):
some guys really step up big time. But when you
take the presence of an Adam Guthrie off of this team,
that's a lot inside. I mean, you're looking at a
guy who's gonna go play on the offensive line at Clemson.
So you're looking about not only fifteen points a game scoring,
but also almost double figures in rebounds. So that's a

(03:54):
big loss. But Miami Trace has been able to overcome that.
Here in the last couple for four games for U
Nyoda fifty six points offensively and defensively, only giving up
forty one. Monday they played North Adams. That was a win,
sixty two to forty one. Zikafus led all scorers with
twenty in that game.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Fitch added seventeen.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
And U Nyoda's a team that you know, you know
what you're gonna get out, Blake Fitch she he's.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
A very constant player.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
But you got a lot of guys that can score
on this UNI Yoda team. And as you said, Jackson
Zikafus went off for twenty points against North Adams. Now,
one of the things that happened in that North Adams
game is they didn't lose a player. Cayden Patterson's going
to be out for the year with a knee injury.
So as far as a little bit of depth goes you,

(04:44):
n Yodo loses a little bit there. But I tell
you what, they can go deep, and they got two
freshmen that can play big minutes for them if they
need to. You Nyoda winners of eleven of their last twelve.
The only loss came last Friday in a double overtime
lost to Circleville.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
Sixty six to fifty nine.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Fitch with twenty one points in that game, koy also
with twenty one points. Un Yodo has really been tested
this last month of the season and we'll see.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
How that'll probably continue tonight.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Yeah, and it goes you know, they had the Zaan
Trace here, the second game Zaane Trace game was here,
then they had Circleville here. Uh, they have Miami Trace
tonight here. So they're gonna know where they stay and
come tournament time and that tournament starts for them, not
this Sunday, but next Sunday when they play in the

(05:36):
district summis for Miami Trace coming up, they were the
number one seed in Division three Southeast tournament. They play
Athens on Tuesday. For un Yoda, they were the number
two seed in the Division four Southeast Southeast District Tournament.
They will play the winner of Logan elm and McLain.
That game's gonna be played on March third or no

(05:58):
that game. The Logan el mcclayton game is going to
be on Monday, February twenty third, and they'll play Unioto
next Sunday, March first. Other games in action. Tonight, Dina
and head coach Andrew Day, SBC Coach of the Year,
plays their final regular season game against Miller and be Ex.

(06:21):
There's no Cavalier games tonight. They finished their season last
night with a loss to Ironton. They start tournament play
on Tuesday. You can hear that game all over on
our sister station, news radio wv EX. We'll take a
break here from Uniota High School and be back to
look at the starters for tonight's contest. You're listening to
the accurate heating, cooling and Plumbing Game of the Night

presented by Accurate Heating, Cooling and Plumbing.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Welcome back to Unyodo High School. Look at some starters
for tonight contest. First for the visiting Miami Trace Panthers.
Number one, Baron Phipps, a six to two senior, Number four.
Gauge Bauer is a six two sophomore, Number five, Julian Baker,
a six to two junior. Number ten, Ty Huffman, a

(09:16):
six to seven sophomore, and number twelve Luke Armstrong, a
six two senior. Yeah, you look at their lineup there.
Gage Bower's average is about almost fourteen points a game
as a sophomore, and uh, he can really step up
and score and he's done so here the last four
games without Guthrie in the lineup. But you know, looking

(09:39):
at you know, size wise, will they get some sides
with Guthrie out? And as we said there, I believe
you said Ty Huffman, right, uh, six seven sophomore. So
again this uh, this lineup may be lacking some height
with the six eight Guthrie out of the lineup, but
Gage Bowers is a heck of a player and also

(10:01):
Baron Phipps as guards, they they're really they can get
after Jillian Baker, very athletic as a six to two guards.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
So'll be aware of this.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Miami Trace team when we look at un Yodo number two,
Isaac Coy the six.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
Too, sorry, the six foot junior.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Number three, Blake Fix a six foot senior, Number five,
Jack Welch, a six foot junior, Number twenty four, Jackson
Zikifer's a five ten senior, and number thirty three Dawson Mitchell,
a six eight senior. Yeah, and last time out we
saw here against Circleville, Isaac Coy had a great game

(10:44):
that night for Uniyodo, and you know, he's just a
special type of player, very athletic, does a great job.
But interesting here tonight, I think there's going to be
Dawson Mitchell. Will he be able to take advantage of
some inside you know, lack of Guthrie in there, and
we'll see if he's able to you know, score the

(11:07):
last couple of games, he hasn't really been in the games,
been in foul trouble and things like that. But he
needs to be a president for them as they move
forward for the tournament. You know, Zach and Jackson Zikafus.
We mentioned twenty points last time out. He's a guy
that had the slow start to the season because of
that injury coming off from football. If he's a guy

(11:30):
that can continue that offensive outbreak that he found in
the last game. We know what he can do on
the defensive side. That's a big plus for them going
in the tournament, that sure is. And again he's just
he can get the offense started because of his defense,
and that's what he is very good at. His quickness.
He can get down the floor. I believe in that

(11:52):
Zaane Trace game that we had them. He made that
key Steele to get that game one for Unioto. So again,
just an excellent player and he's rounding right in the
form here.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
As tournament time comes around, we'll.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Take our final break here at Unyoda High School and
we'll be back for game action. You're listening to the

Speaker 10 (14:31):
Here's Low and Chris Postage.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Welcome back to Uniyoda High School as the starters get
announced inside the arena, Coach. The All SVC teams came
out today and Uniyoda was well represented it. Dawson Mitchell
Honorable Mention, Jackson Zickifer's Honorable Mention, Jack Welch's Second Team,
Isaac Coy's second team and first Team All SVC. An

(15:00):
SVC Player of the Year once again.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
Blake Fitch Yeah, well deserved.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Blake Finch is a great player. You know, it's been
a pleasure to watch him for four years here at
Uniota and again the last two being Player of the
Year for our league. And again they're well represented and
their starting five, they all deserve all those accolades, and
maybe even more so because you know Jackson Zickabus I'll

(15:25):
put him up against anybody defensively in our league. So
and also, Chris, you talked about the Coach of the Year.
Really great to see that the coaches, and most of
the time it goes to the coach who wins the league,
and that's not necessarily what it is. I'm glad the
coaches in the SVC saw what Andrew Day and his

(15:47):
staff did at a Tina. They came off a team
that was four and twenty last year and they're a
team that could possibly get thirteen wins this year if
they win tonight. And again us a tremendous job that
he did there at Adena first time ever. We have
a guy who's won both Boys and Girls.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
Coach of the Year in the FBC.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
So Andrews is a great coach and even a better person.
So congratulations to coach Day as Coach of the Year.
And we will have a Dina's tournament action next week.
I play that game on Friday. Do you have our
schedule for next week as we start tournament action and
where those games can be found here on kJ So

(16:31):
on Monday night we're going to travel over the Logan
for the Unioto girls against Sheridan in the district semi
final game and that's going to start at seven o'clock
over at Logan.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
On Tuesday, we will.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Be at Zane Trace High School and Zane Trace will
host Lynchburg play in a Division five.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
First round game. Then on Friday.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
We will be at Adena will they will take on
Sims Valley and Division six action. And then on Saturday,
if Unioda wins. On Monday night will be back for
the Uniedo girls in a district final game that is
yet to be determined. I believe it's going to be
a one pm start, but as far as where that

(17:14):
will be as yet to be determined. And again if
that's that's if they went on Monday, and then next
Sunday will be the beginning of a big week for us.
We will be down at the Convo for two games.
Circleville will be playing their first round district semi action
against the winner of Gallia Academy in Minton County. That'll

(17:37):
be a two PM. And then this Unioda Sherman team
will take on the winner of Loganell McLean. That'll be
a five point thirty next Sunday, March first down at
the Conbo. So busy week coming up for us. Hopefully
it's going to be a busy two weeks as we
can get these teams winning and moving further into tournament.
The lights are off here inside the gymnasium and home

(18:00):
faithful are cheering on their starting five coach just moments.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Away from getting this one started. Any final thoughts, I.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Think if you're Uniota, you want to control the tempo.
You want to try to get a lot of defensive
steel and transition into offensive points. And if you're Unioda,
you also want to limit Miami TRACE's penetration inside and
also limit second shot opportunities. Again, two teams that have

(18:34):
won a lot of games this year and can put
up a lot of points, so this will be fun
to watch. And we're getting set here inside the center circle.
Now we got Unyoda and their home whites, the purple
and gold trim, the purple lettering and numerals with the
gold trim and for Miami trace they're in their road
black uniforms, gold lettering and numerals and gold trim. Mitchell

(19:01):
is set in the center circle with Luke Armstrong. Ball
is up and it is won by Mitchell, but it
goes right to Julian Baker of the Panthers. Zone defense
here by Uniodo and got Baker right to the high post.
Bowers with the ball on the wing, now up top

(19:22):
to Armstrong. Armstrong cross court to Huffman, Huffman inside looking
for Baker. Baker got the free throw line, hands it over.
That was Pipps with his shot no good, tipped out
of bounds via the Panthers, and they'll be Juniotta basketball.
And the thing Unyodo does in that two three zone,
they are very active and they really get spread out

(19:44):
across the court, so it's not like they're sitting back
in the zone. They're being very active in that zone.
Bitch with the ball cross court too, Koy back to pitch,
fist driving baseline. Now pump Bake second shot up, that's
no good. Rebound goes the Phipps. Phipps quickly up the
right side cut off by Welch, gets across court to Bowers,

(20:05):
Bowers over to Armstrong.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
He's gonna try a three from the wing.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
That draws back ire no good, gets his own rebound.
Now Phipps again, fifteen footer. That's no good shot altered
thereby is at koy Zicka Foos with the rebound up
to Fitch. Now Fitch hands it to Zickafus. He's gonna
try a deep three from the road, and he's got
it going. Wow, that was deep. I wasn't expecting him
to pull up from there, but that's a great shot.

(20:29):
Picks up right where he left off from the North
Adams game. Down low, Phipps picks it out to Baker.
Now back to Phipps. Phipps looking to go baseline cut
off by Fitch, throws a crossport to Bowers. Bowers coming
off a screen by Armstrong. Is gonna try a deep
three is from the top of the key. That's no good.
Long rebound tracked down in the corner and that's gonna

(20:51):
be out of bounds.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
Off Huffman. It'll be you and Yoda's basketball.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Yeah, almost gave up another second shot opportunity there, but
right now Miami Trace just settling for some threes and
not getting the bowl inside at all. Six twenty on
the clock as Fitch walks it across the timeline, tries
to drive. Now cut off gets it back to Welch
at the top of the key. Inside the Mitchell at
the high post hands it back to Fitch. Fitch jump

(21:16):
down Mitchell, Mitchell at the bucket puts it in for two.
Really nice. John Mitchell does a great job and not
bringing the ball down at all once he gets it
inside and he's able to get it up and in quickly.
Armstrong at the top of the key his own defense
from un Yoda Baker driving. Now let's cut off, gets
it over to Armstrong, back up top to Bowers. Five

(21:42):
forty five. Let's go here in the first quarter five
nothing lead for un Yoda inside, Baker back to Bowers,
Bowers now shot alter dre rebound goes to Phipps.

Speaker 4 (21:52):
Phipps off the glass and in for two.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
Yeah, that's three possessions where Miami Trace has got second
shot opportunity. He's you're Uniyoda, you cannot allow that to happen.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Five to two.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
Now Unyoda leaves Fitch back door past the Koi was
tipped by the defense TOI on the ground with it,
and you may have a tie up here and looks
like we do Possessionaire is going to stay here.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
With un Yoda.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Yeah, koy was going to the bucket there and now
I don't think he expected that pass to happen there,
and it got tipped a little bit by Miami trace
but never got clear possession. Welts to endbound in the
quarter to Fitch. Fitch driving baseline now dumps it over
to Mitchell.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
Mitchell off their glassing.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
In for two. Really good job. They're they're using that
heighth advantage quickly. The other way is Phipps and he
puts it off the glass for two to answer, well,
I don't never seen Uni Yoda get beaten transition that
quick quickly up to welchs now up top Mitchell seven
to for Unyoda leave Koi uptop Zika Fou's pump fakes
drives kicked it out to Koi boy guarded there by

(22:56):
bowers By looking to drive, hands it over to else
Welch driving into the lane off the glass left handed. Good.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
They're a really nice moves there by.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Well, she beat his man coming off the corner and
there's a steel by zika foof zickafush the other way
and he lays it in.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
That's what he can do.

Speaker 2 (23:15):
I Love's disruption time out by Miami Trace. You're your
deleating eleven four. You're listening to the accurate heat. Ain't
pulling a plumbing game of the night on ninety four

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Welcome back to U Yoda High School, where you Yoda
is on top eleven two four four point thirty left
to go here in the first quarter out of the
time out. It would be Panthers basketball. Pip's able to
break the press, gets it up top to Bower. Bowers
dribbles it to the wing. Now in the corner to Armstrong.
Armstrong inside the Baker. Baker now backs it to the corner.

(24:32):
So there's a go gos score looking for Pips going
away by Zika Foo Now Fits going the other way.
Bitch on the wing now coming off the screen by Mitchell.
Had it poked behind by Pipps and that's thrown away.
Now loose ball at center court, picked up by Koy,
gets it over to Fitch down low on the blocked
the way by Armstrong.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
Now Bowers the other way. Bowers up to fifth.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Fips had it blocked away there by Mitchell, Zika Fruz
Priss corking Coy and he puts it down wide receiver
or quarterback on that connection. Quick action back and forth,
a lot of steels, a lot of block shots, and
we get a bucket.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
Bowers into the corner. Phips, he's gonna try a three.
That's no good.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Long rebound's going to be pulled down by Baker. Now
Armstrong up to Bowers inside Baker. Baker picks up his dribble,
kicks it out Armstrong fifteen footer that rattles around. No
good Mitchell with the rebound Fitch crossing the time. Now
thirteen to four. The Sherman's lead three eight left to

(25:35):
go here in the first quarter of Koy on the wing.
It's a cutting fitch. He loses it, picked up by Phipps.
Phipps to Baker. Now Baker driving dump down to Huffman
and hit shot off the glasses. Good, makes it thirteen
to six. You can go to the leaves. Yeah, a
couple turnovers here for Nio. Last couple possessions and you

(25:56):
know they're really shooting at six four seven shooting is Union,
so they're off the heart's hot start. They just can't
turn it over. Welch, that's the top of the key.
Gets it over to Koy on the wing. Cooy backs
it up, gets it to Mitchell cross cort zickapoos, zicka foos.
Download of pitch pitch up top. Welch's gonna try three
from the top of the keys. That's good, Jack. Welch

(26:17):
continue the hot shooting for uni Ou sixteen to six.
Now Baker inside pump fake gets by Mitchell puts it
off the glass for two man. They can score. Quick
pitch up the right side, met there by Phipps, Cross
sports Zikafoos. Coach Collins calls out the offense. Two minutes

(26:42):
left to go here in the first quarter. Bitch Cross
courts to Welch. Co'm an offense. Fitch screen hits the
rolling pitch back to Zickafous now on the wing looking
to dry, gets it off the glass, and that's good.
They are shooting out.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
Quickly the other way.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
The Panthers Baker over the Phipps.

Speaker 4 (27:04):
His float shot.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
No good. Mitchell pulls it down. Bitch up the right side.
He's driving now all the way to the lame reverse
left rattles around. No good. Bower's now up the right side.
Bowers spinning gets it into the lane, now spinning again.
Left hand layup was blocked there by Mitchell. Minute thirteen

(27:31):
left to go here in the first quarter and eighteen
to eight.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Lead for you and Yoda.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Coach Comb's calling out of play here got to get
a good quality possession.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
Here, Zicka Fous on the wing up top.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Welch now under a minute left to go here in
the first quarter, Coy Cross sports to Welch, back to Koy.
He's ordered thereby Baker with forty six. Now it switched
on to my Baker. Forty seconds over to Welch. Cock,

(28:06):
you're gonna try to go for the last shot. Welch
driving now into the lane, kicks it out Fitch. Fitch
now he's driving into the lane, kicks it out to Koy.
Now Zickafoo's driving. He kicks it out to Welch. Now
Fitch is gonna try a three from the wing. That's
no good. A lot of unselfished passing there on. That one.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
Powers on the wing.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Sixteen seconds up top Armstrong. He had a pop by Welch,
but it goes right to Hoffmann Man. Baker loses it,
Fifth picks it up. Eight seconds zick A foos into Fitch.
Now he's spinning off the glass.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
No good.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
Three seconds fits with the ball half court.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
H and that's no good.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
At the end of the first quarter, it is uniodo
eighteen Miami Tracy eight. You're listening to the accurate heating,
pulling and plumbing game of the night on ninety four
Country WKKJ. You've got a big day, so.

Speaker 15 (28:59):
You you the unstoppable sin boosters to give your laundry

Speaker 15 (29:18):
Add new unstoppable speeds to your wash for twenty four
hour non stuff freshness so you can smell unstoppable.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Welcome back to Unyoda High School. After the first quarter
it was Uni Hada eighteen Miami Trace eight. Go over
to coach, look at some numbers there from that quarter. Well,
Uni had a great hot start as far as shooting
eight for twelve sixty seven percent two for three from
beyond the arc.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
I only had two turnovers.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Are that first quarter for Miami Trace there were four
fourteen shooting twenty nine percent zero of four from beyond
New York and they had four turnovers. Chris, every player
you had, cooy Well, Zicker, Fuse, and Mitchell, they all
made every shot they took. The only guy that miss
shots was the S three.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
C player of the year. He was over four.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Starts the second quarter, it'll be Miami trace basketball, Bowers
spinning in a lane, his shot no good down low.
With the rebound, Bowers puts it up that time, and
that one's good. Yeah, second shot opportunities. Juniata cannot allow
them to get that going, and uh, you know cut
into this league fits with the ball off the top

(30:43):
of the key now looking to drive, picks up from
fifteen and he knocks it down. Well, that's it. Only
took me talking about him missing every shot he had
for him to.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
Make one's twenty. That's in. Unyoda leads down load.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Looking for Baker, strown away by Koi Cooi.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
Up the right side.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Now hits it up to David Long Long driving cross
court to Rsha Harsha, over to Fitch now Coy now
Aiden Cox Marsha Now at the top of the key.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
Coy, I'm gonna try a three from the top of
the key.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
That's good, Isaac Cooy.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
But again the.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
Hot shooting continues for Uni.

Speaker 4 (31:20):
Yoda twenty three to ten.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
Un Yoda hours now coming off of Baker screen. HiT's
the rolling Baker down low Laker foot shot that's no
good long rebound. Huffman Huffman's gonna pull up from fifteen.
That's no good rebound. Tip damn, we're gonna have a foul.
I believe that's gonna go against Miami Trace and Miami

(31:44):
Trains right here. In the first half. So far, a
lot of their offense is just simply transition buckets. They
haven't been able to get anything consistent in the half
court sets, and they're seemed out of sorts. That foul
was on Evan Parsley his first teams burs Welch walks
it across the timeline. Six thirty left to go. Here

(32:05):
in the second quarter, it's twenty three to ten lead
for un Yoda Toy with the ball on the wing,
now up top to wels Welch backs it up guarded
air by Baker coming off the screen, picks up his dribble,
gets it over to hars show Al Harshaw back to Wells.
He's gonna try three from the wing. That's no good rebound,
pulled down by Phipps. Baker now up to Parsley. He's

(32:30):
gonna try three from the wing. That's no good rebound,
goes to Jack Welch. That was a quick three early
in the possession for Miami Trace. Welch cross court to
Koy Coy looking to drive. Now picks up his dribble,
hits it, welts down the hole, is blocked away there
by Phipps not a block from behind Parsley.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
Now that's the right side he's driving.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Kicks it back to Baker. He loses it. That's gonna
go on the bounds. It'll be yun yoda basketball. Yeah,
that was just I think he tried to throw it
back and again Baker just wasn't ready for it offensively
in the half court, said Miami Trace just getting nothing right.

(33:12):
Now Fitch walking across the timeline, met there by Parsley.

Speaker 4 (33:19):
Now Fitch looking to drive baseline, picks up.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
The dribble on the block, kicks it down to David
Long on the wing. Now up Tom Zickafoos cross court
to Harshot Harsha on the wing, gets it cross court
back to Zickafous.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
Now Welch.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
Welch stuggles into the top for Te coming off screen
by Fitch. Now gets it to Harshot Harsha down low,
right hand shot off the glass.

Speaker 4 (33:42):
No good.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Baker with the rebound up to Huffman Huffman on the
right side on the block offensive foul. Yeah, A great
job of getting back by Blake Fitch. And again that's
what Miami trays can do to you get quick offense
or quick defense to offense and try to get your
back before you get set defensively. But great job by
the SBC player of the Year, Blake Fitch. First fout

(34:05):
on Huffman his first team second Welts across the timeline.
Now hits it over to Harsha, now long long at
the time of the key. Now hands it over to Fitch.

(34:27):
Four forty five. Let's you go here in the second quarter,
Welps over to Harsha. Now back to wels Welps looking
to drive, hands it over to Fitch. Bitch, that's the
pre third line. Kicks it out to Welts wide opening
on the wing, and that's good. He's got eight points
here tonight, Jack Wells. That's his second three twenty six

(34:48):
to ten.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
Un Yoda.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Powers with the ball, tom of the key, driving, picks
up his dribbles, spinning right hand and float shot.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
That's no good.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Harsher with the rebound, and he's gonna get foul, I
would say right now, Chris Miami Trade is very frustrated
offensively that found was on Vours, his first team's third.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
Coach. They called that foul on Huffman on Phipps.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
I believe that's what they're changing now Miami Tracey's coach
was pretty adamant about that, So that foul should have
been on Huffman when they called it on Phipps. I'm
not sure what's and they just announced that that foul

(35:42):
was changed, and now we're having another conversation.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
I'm not sure what that's about.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
All right, I'm all right, Well, now I think we're
ready to go. After the stoppage, it will be Unioda's basketball.
David Long's gonna take it out.

Speaker 4 (35:58):
They got to go to the length of the court.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Baker guarding bitch full court. Coolly comes and gets it.
Now he's gonna walk it up the right side by
looking to drive.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
Now gets all the way to the bucket.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
He's shot no good along with the rebound down low.
He had it stown away there by Baker Baker Bowers
now sorry, Bower's going the other way, loses it going
up and he's gonna be fouled. Yeah, that's uh, I'm
not sure about that foul. That file may have happened
a lot earlier than he actually called it. Engaged Bowers

(36:31):
to the line, shooting to that bow is going to
be on LEI was gonna be on Zikaphus. That should
be his first team's first of the quarter.

Speaker 4 (36:44):
First run is up and good for Bowers.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
The first free throws here tonight, substitution for you and
Yoda Dawson Mitchell taking back in the games. One more
from shot is up and that's no good. Rebound was tipped.
I believe that's gonna go out of mounds.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
Yes, off the Panthers. It'll be un Yodah's basketball. Three
fifty six.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Limp to go here in the second quarter, a twenty
six to eleven lead for un Yoda. Him bound in
the back art to Koy the core defense. Now as
he hands it over to Fitch, Fitch Carter Derby, Baker
gets it across the timeline coming off of Mitchell screen.
He's gonna get all the way to the bucket, puts
it off the glass and good. Yeah. They put the
Baker on Fitch or try to slow him down, but

(37:31):
he can't right there, twenty eight to eleven, un Yoda
Baker on the wing. Now back to his own defense
for un Yoda. Back to Baker up top to Bowers.
Bowers looking to drive, fell down, gets it over to Davidson,
who just checked in.

Speaker 4 (37:49):
David sitting down.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
Low's gonna try a fifteen footer that's no good, gets
his own rebound.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
Now try to float shot. That one's no good.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
Gets another offensive rebound for Davidson. He kicks it out
to phipps Now, he's gonna pull up fifteen. That's no good,
Isaac Coy pulls out and down after you're youre Nyoda.
You gotta be careful again giving up these second and
third shot opportunities. Fitch driving picks up from fifteen, kicks
it out to Mitchell now in the corner to Welch.

Speaker 4 (38:14):
Back up top to Fitch. Two fifty five.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Let's to go here in the second quarter, Fitch off
the screen by Mitchell. It's the popping well who drives
in the corner. Koy, he's gonna try a three. That's good,
Isaac Koy. This is as good as a shooting team
that we've seen.

Speaker 4 (38:29):
You Inneoda all year long.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
Thirty one eleven you Yoda leeds another timeout Miami Trays.
You're listenings the accurate heat pulling a plumbing game of

Speaker 2 (39:10):
Now welcome back to Uniyoda High School, where the un
Yoda Shermans have really taken control of this one. They

(39:32):
lead to my twenty here in the second quarter.

Speaker 4 (39:35):
Yeah, thirty one eleven.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
Then you know, you know U Nyoda can play well,
and you were wondering about gut Thrie not being in
the game for Miami Trades, But wow, yeah, I couldn't
even anticipate this, But U Niyoda's shooting extremely well here tonight,
doing a great job defensively at just not allowing Miami
trades to get anything in a half court set.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
In Miami Trace.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
You gotta try to figure something out here because you know,
if Gud three's not gonna be able to play for you,
this tournament happens quickly for them. Out of the time out,
it'll be Miami TRACE's basketball. Shot by Phipps that was
no good and that's gonna go out of mounds off
Miami Trace, it'll be Unyodo's basketball. You know, as you said,
they start Tuesday, they play Athens at home. But then

(40:21):
you've got in the second round. You've got a Marriotta
team that's won seventeen games. They're really solid. So now
you gotta figure something out. Wels is gonna try a
fifteen footer that's no good. Rebound down Low's gonna go
out of bounds off Miami Trace. So we be Unyoda's
ball baseline out of bounds. Two nineteen left to go
here in the second quarter, a thirty one eleven lead

(40:43):
for you, and Yoda in bound fitch back to Wels
in the corner. He's gonna try at three, and why
not Jack Wells for three. It's his third of the night.
He's got eleven points here, in the first half. Its
bounce pasted. Davidson's gonna go off his foot out of bounds.
It'll be another turnover from Miomy traces. Seven turnovers for
them here in the first half. And again Welch's on fire,

(41:08):
Coy's on fire. Judeoto, all cylinders going right now Stendon
two three zone here from Miami Trace, Fitch lot down
low Isli Baker, but it gets right to Fitch and no, sorry,
that was Welch who came up with it and put
it off the glass for two. He knew what to
do with it once it fell in his hands. And

(41:30):
we're gonna get another turnover on Miami Trace. They're gonna
be a back court violation. Yeah, that's getting bad to
worse right now for Miami Trace. They can't get anything
going offensively. Thirty six eleven un Yoda leeds a minute
forty six left to go here in the second quarter,

(41:50):
in bound to Fitch in the back court. He's picked
up there, My Parsley gets buy him now into the lane,
pulls up from about ten. That SHOT's no good. Redound
Tipton controlled by Baker. Now Bowers walks it across the timeline.
That's thereby. Welch gets it over to Armstrong, back to Bowers.
Bowers looking to drive, now picks it out. Armstrong wings

(42:14):
for three.

Speaker 4 (42:14):
That's no good.

Speaker 2 (42:16):
Rebounds controlled by Baker, out to Huffman, who's gonna try
three from the wing. Now that's no good. Baker with
another offensive rebound out the Bowers at the top of
the keet.

Speaker 4 (42:25):
Bowers picks up.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
His dribble thoon about a three, gets it crossport Huffman
into the corner. That's Parsley. He tries the three and
he knocks it down. Now you get three shots at it,
you're going to probably make one of them. That's three
straight threes they took in that possession. Pitch on the
wing now under a minute left to play here in
the second quarter, gets it over to Koy back to
Fitch itit's guarded there by Armstrong. Now Jack Welch on

(42:50):
the wing forty five seconds, guarded there by Baker.

Speaker 4 (42:54):
He looks to.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
Drive into the lane right hand, float, shot out of
the glass and go everything going up going in for
mister Welch. Tonight thirty eight fourteen and another turnover from
Miami Crag fifteen points. On night four, Jack Welch turn
over number nine in the first half for Miami, trace

(43:15):
thirty point eight left to go here in the second quarter,
you Yoda leeds thirty eight to fourteen. Fits with the
basketball walks across the timeline met thereby Parsley alf Fitch
with seventeen up to Koy at the top of the key.
Back to Fitch with thirteen. Coach Collin's calling out the

(43:37):
offense ten seconds now Fitch Koy download of Zika Fous
back up top. Welch over to Fitch, Who's gonna try
a three from the tout the key that rattles out there,
dude till tiff offensively about them? What a half of
basketball by you Yoda? They lead forty to fourteen at

(43:59):
the brain.

This is the halftime report on ninety four country WKKJA.

Speaker 2 (46:15):
Welcome back to un Yoda High School where the tanks
are rolling here. In the first half they lead Miami
Trace forty to fourteen. It was eighteen to eight after one,
and then a twenty two to six second quarter as
the un Yoda Sherman's.

Speaker 4 (46:31):
Out on top coach.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
Well, right now it's just hot shooting for Uni Yoda
seventeen to twenty seven, sixty three percent, and I'll tell
you what. Offensively, I think coach Combs is probably going
to say, hey, I don't want it halftime to come.
Can we just go right back out there and keep
playing because they played so well and executed so well

(46:56):
on the offensive end. They only had two turnovers there
in the first half, So offensively that is textbook. And
when you score forty points and a half, and again
Miami Trace really doesn't give up more than forty points
in a game. Unyodo just tremendous first half, Miami Trace

(47:16):
struggling six of twenty seven, shooting twenty two percent, one
of seven from beyond the ar, fourteen percent, one of
two with the free throw line. They ended up with
nine turnovers there in that first half. You look at
scoring in the first half U Niodo led by Jack
Welch with fifteen eight points for Isaac Coy, seven points

(47:37):
for Jackson Zikerfu's, six points for Dawson Mitchell, and four
points for Blake Fitz, So all starters right there. Nice
balance scoring for U Niyodo and Miami Trace is led
here in the first half with Baron Phipps with four points.
So again just a struggle right now. Offensively in the

(47:58):
half court set for Miami Trace. Yeah, coach, I can
honestly say I did not see this coming. I mean,
un Yoda has absolutely dominated one of the better teams
in the state. Well, you look at this game and
it's like last Friday night, they were really upset that
they lost that notn On League game to Circleville. They

(48:19):
pride themselves they want to be one of the best
teams around, and when they lost that game in double overtime,
they wanted to prove something and they won against North
Adams and then tonight another chance for them to make
a statement and they've come out and made a huge
one in the first half.

Speaker 4 (48:37):
Now it's only half.

Speaker 2 (48:39):
You still got sixteen minutes to play, but Miami Trace
has to make some big adjustments. And as a coach,
I think you're going to go in there and say, hey, listen, guys,
we want to win the second half. That's what we
want to do here. If you're Miami Trace, if you're
u Nioda, you want to keep going. You want to
just keep it going and try to finish this game
on a positive. No, we'll take a quick break and

Welcome back to Union High School where Union is on
top of Miami Trace forty to fourteen at the half, Coach,
you got a couple of scores from around the area. Yeah,
we got a halftime score out of the Dina Miller
High School leads a Dina eighteen thirteen. I know they
had a power outage out in Frankfurt earlier today. I

(51:41):
hope the power is back on, but seems like the
offense is not right now for a Dina. And in
the second quarter, we got Circleville leading Liberty Union twenty
nine to eleven. That'll give Circleville twenty wins in the
regular season. They are nineteen and two right now, already
wrapped up the midst League title, but they had to

(52:01):
go on the road tonight up at Liberty Union and
trying to get their twentieth win to the regular season.
And I believe, and I'm not going to throw it
out there that this is definite, but that's gotta be
the most wins for a Circle Ball high school boys
basketball team in a regular season I would say so.
They clinched their first mid state league title since nineteen

(52:24):
eighty three the other night. A team that we've covered
a few times this year and a team that we
look forward to covering more down the road. Yeah, and
again it's you know Circleville, you got u Nioto, you
got this Miami Trace team, Chilkati another team that can
really explode at any time and can beat anyone. So

(52:44):
we've got a lot of teams. Zane Trace is a
team that can compete with anyone. I know, there's Jackson.
So this will be a fun tournament once we get
down to the Convo here next week. Next Sunday starts
the Convo games, and it'll be interesting once we get
down there. There's gonna be a lot of really good games,

(53:05):
a lot of really good matchups. And you know, this
Uni Oda team looks really hot right now. A lot
of good basketball to com We'll tank our final break
and be back for second half action.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
Welcome back to here Unioda High School.

Speaker 4 (54:30):
As we start the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (54:31):
Here to be Unioda's basketball pass was tipped and stolen
away by Miami Trace. Quick turnover to start the half
for un Yodo up Tom Huffman over to Armstrong on
the wing inside Baker, Baker backing down Mitchell. It's shot
walked away there by Mitchell. Baker gets his own rebound,
kicks it out to Armstrong. Now Bower is at the
top of the seet. Bower is gonna pull from three. That's

(54:54):
no good. Huffman with the rebound for Miami trace. Third chance.

Speaker 4 (54:58):
Here at it. Bowers drive being.

Speaker 2 (55:00):
Dumped down low the stowaway by Mitchell.

Speaker 4 (55:04):
Welts up the right side.

Speaker 2 (55:05):
Zicka. Fou's back to welstot about a three. Now I'm
driving now into the lane left handed off the glass.
No good. Armstrong with the rebound. Armstrong up to Phipps.
Phipps steps back wide open in the corner for three,
and he knocks it down after Miami Trace. One possession
at a time. That's all you can do. Wels the
other way. Now drives baseline and puts it off the

(55:27):
glass for two. He's gonna say he finally missed one.
There his first shot to this half. Armstrong up top
to Baker. Armstrong again on the wing. He's gonna try
a three. That's no good. Baker flying in for the rebound.
Zach Zikafuh saves.

Speaker 4 (55:44):
It to Koy.

Speaker 2 (55:46):
Well, say, Miami Trace is a good offensive rebounding team.
They never give up on it. Koi now on the wing,
dumps it into Fitch outside. Welts he's gonna try a
three from the corner.

Speaker 4 (55:56):
That's no good.

Speaker 2 (55:56):
Mitchell air for the offensive rebound.

Speaker 4 (55:58):
He puts it down with the foul.

Speaker 2 (56:01):
We're gonna call that a pass by Jack Welch to
Mitchell inside.

Speaker 4 (56:10):
That foul was on Huffman.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
That's his second team's first of the quarter. Mitchell at
the line, looking to convert the old fashioned three point play.
He is perfect four for four from the field. Tonight
Free throws up and Maxica for Mitchell, makes up forty five,
sixteen year in yodda leagues. Welch is gonna lobby for

(56:32):
that assist. I'm sure bowers up to Fitch. Now, Baker
at the top of the key pass to Huffman's throwing
away by fix. Bitch going the other way now dumps
it down low Cooy pass was tip by Phips.

Speaker 4 (56:44):
Koy gets it to Welch in the corner.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
Now Hooy driving baseline hook from behind gets it the
bitch now driving Florida in the lane Nasca the passing
right now view to Yodo is outstanding off across the
timeline to Phipps. Phipps driving pulls up from fifteen off Macron.

Speaker 24 (57:04):
No good.

Speaker 2 (57:06):
Then they're gonna say it goes off the safety strip
and that'll be out of bounds.

Speaker 4 (57:10):
Unioda's basketball.

Speaker 2 (57:12):
Now that last time, Unioda did a great job of
attacking the bucket and leaving their feet. And each time
they were had to make a pass to somebody else,
and they did a great job. Coy getting trapped in
a half court. Now he's past going away by Bowers,
Bowers going.

Speaker 4 (57:27):
The other way.

Speaker 2 (57:27):
He lays it off the glasses.

Speaker 4 (57:29):
Good for two.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
That was probably the poorest offensive possession from ne Yoto
here tonight. They got trapped into quarter and you can
never do that. Forty seven to eighteen Unioda leeds across
the timeline. Zickapru's back to Fitch, High posts to Cooy.
Now Zickafou's driving and he just tries to float shot.

Speaker 4 (57:47):
That's no good.

Speaker 2 (57:48):
Mitchell offensive rebound, put back the two. He's definitely asserting
his authority. Inside forty nine to eighteen, Unioda leeds Baker
at the time of Gato the Bowers. Bowers picks it
up from fifteen, kicks it out to Armstrong.

Speaker 4 (58:04):
Now over to Phipps.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
Baker inside back to Bowers, is gonna try a three
from the wing. That's no good. Offensive rebound Huffman. Huffin's
gonna pull it from fifteen back iron no good. Baker
was an offensive rebound. Baker is spinning down low, blocks
away again by Mitchell. Offensive redound for Miami. Trace out
to Huffman, Huffman, cross court Armstrong. He's gonna try three

(58:26):
that was blocked by Koi. Armstrong gets the offensive rebound.
Now Phipp's gonna try a three.

Speaker 4 (58:31):
From the wing.

Speaker 2 (58:32):
That's no good. Isaac Cooy with the board.

Speaker 24 (58:35):
No.

Speaker 2 (58:35):
They got three shots at it again but couldn't make him.
Four thirty left to go here in the third quarter
forty nine eighteen n Yoda leeds Zika Fou's in the corner,
wide open. Jack Welks lines it up and can't knock
it down. All the rebound goes to Armstrong. I think
he was too open that time. He had too much
time to think about it. Baker inside to sit out

(58:57):
to Huffman. Now Bowers over to Phipps, back up top
to Bowers, powers off the screen by Baker gets it
into the lane, picks up his dribble, looking to dump
it down to Huffman, and that's going away by Fitch.
Fitch quickly up the left side, now jump stopping the lane.
Shot was good, but he was found before the shot.

(59:17):
So I have a baseline out of bounds for un Yoda. Yeah,
twelve turnovers on the night from Miami Trace three so
far this quarter. That was on Phipps his first team.
Second of the quarter. Arsha checks in for un Yoda.

(59:38):
Jack Welt's the inbound. Now Welch inside Mitchell. Mitchell flip
shout that rattles out no good offensively tipped by Welch,
but then it's going to go out of bounds, so
it'll be Miami Trace basketball. David Long checking back in

(01:00:00):
for Unoda, replacing Mitchell. Would court defense now by unioda
inbound of Bowers started by a harsh show over to Parsley,
cross court to Baker. Now Bower's at the top of
the key, step back for three.

Speaker 4 (01:00:20):
That's no good.

Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
Offensive rebound goes to Jackson, Zika foods Now Fitch across
the timeline driving now into the lane and he's gonna
rule I'm not sure what somebody who calls a couple
of guys hit the floor Miami Trace, came away with
the ball, and now the rest are going to talk
about it here. It looked like initially he was signaling

(01:00:46):
a blocking found on Miami Trace, but then when he
saw Bauers going the other way with the basketball, they're
gonna call an offensive found now on Blake Pitch. Yeah,
the other official came in over ruling them as far
as a charge go.

Speaker 4 (01:01:05):
At least a disgusted.

Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
First foul and Blake Fitch first team foul of the
quarter and bound is two pips in the back court
he guarded by Fitch, Fitch Phipps driving.

Speaker 4 (01:01:17):
Now gets it over to Parsley.

Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
Parsley coming off of Baker screen, He's gonna pull up
for three on the wing. Nex's no good. That hit
nothing and it went out of bounds. It'll be Unioda's basketball. Yeah,
two four two for twelve from beyond the arc. Right
now is Miami trace on the ninth three fourteen left

(01:01:43):
to go here. In the third quarter forty nine eighteen junior,
the Leeds Fitch across the timeline to Welch, back to Fitch, pitch,
cross court to Harsha. Harsha back cross court to Welch.
Welch driving baseline. Now inside the long long down, low pump,
fake shot up, No good. Rebound goes to bow Decker.

(01:02:06):
Bow Decker up the left side over the Bowers now
hours looking to drive off the block. No good, but
he's going to be fouled. I think he's gonna get
some free throws out of that one who two fouls,
two free throws for ours. That fouls on Harsha, his

(01:02:26):
first team second.

Speaker 4 (01:02:34):
Perform for ours is up and no good substitution for you.

Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
Nyoda ling Lincoln ling Off, the freshman checking in for
the first time. Another substitution, Dawson Mitchell checking back in
replacing David Long. Have one more free throw for Gage
Bowers two forty four left to go here. In the
fourth quarter, a forty nine to eighteen lead for you

(01:03:02):
and Yoda. Second one is good, makes it forty nine
to nineteen. Fitch crossing the timeline. Now Arter Dereby Baker
switched on to and he had it poked away. My
Parsley going the other way, Bowers down low, Parsley pump
fake second shot, no good, three bounds is gonna be

(01:03:25):
controlled thereby Mitchell Fitch in the back court gold court
defense from Miami trace. Now Fitch gets it across the timeline.
Two eighteen left to go here in the third quarter,
Fitch driving his pass, was stowing away there by Parsley,
Parsley on the right wing.

Speaker 4 (01:03:42):
He's gonna pull up deep from three.

Speaker 2 (01:03:44):
And that's gonna go over the back cold, no good,
it'll be out of bounds un Yoda's basketball. Wow, that
was a quick three in the half court possession right now,
Chris Adina thirty one four after three quarters, a big
quarter there by a Dinah to now take over the

(01:04:05):
lead against Miller and Circleville leads a little liberty union
thirty seven twenty two a half.

Speaker 4 (01:04:12):
Jack Jackson Zickafuse checking back in for you and Yoda.

Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
Fitch up top, Mitchell over to langoff Langolf coming off
of Mitchell screen.

Speaker 4 (01:04:21):
Now that's it over the Fitch pitch.

Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
The Jackson screen drives off the glass. That's no good.

Speaker 4 (01:04:28):
Rebound tips will.

Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
Be controlled by controlled by Parsley there and he's going
to be found by Zikafous and Parsley is down. It
looks like he's holding his shoulder. He hit his uh.
I don't know if he hit his shoulder or elbow
or hand really hard on the floor there as he

(01:04:49):
and Jackson Sicafus went to the floor. Both guys had
the ball, So we'll take a quick break while they

huffing out to Bowers. Now he's gonna try a three.
That's good, Gates Bowers. You know this is a team
that is not shy on shooting, and if they get
multiple attempts at it, their percentage goes up. Fitch, dribbling
on the wing, now guarded by Bowers, hands it to

(01:10:41):
Koi on the wing cross court Welch we else picked

Uni Yoto usually does to you. They get that loose
ball and quickly go the other way, and there was

Speaker 4 (01:21:22):
He's gonna be fouled.

Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
Fernandez being very active, especially on the offensive end, driving
hard to the whole two more free throws from the
six to two Frenchman Mannix Hernandez. That foul is on
Ferguson his first team's third. We got a minute fourteen
left to go here in the fourth quarter, a sixty
three thirty.

Speaker 4 (01:21:43):
Three lead for Uniota. Fernandez makes a first flue.

Speaker 2 (01:22:11):
Up top Johnny Websle, Blake Braydon, he's gonna line up
a three from the corner.

Speaker 4 (01:22:16):
That's no good.

Speaker 2 (01:22:17):
Shacklefoot going for the rebound and that's gonna go out

Under a minute. Let's to play now, sixty three to
thirty five. Lead for you and Yoda.

Speaker 2 (01:22:42):

pulls up from fifteen.

Speaker 4 (01:22:55):
That's no good.

Speaker 2 (01:22:56):
Rebound's gonna be loose and picked up there by shackle Ford.
Ferguson crosses the timeline with twenty six seconds when coach
Holmes is gonna call it all and they'll dribble this
one out here at Unyoda High School, U Yoda sixty
three to Miami Trace thirty five. What an impressive outing

(01:23:21):
here by.

Speaker 5 (01:23:22):
You and Yoda.

Speaker 2 (01:23:25):
Yeah, that's all you can say is that first half
of basketball. That it's good at back SEMN playing all
year long. The buzzer sounds now and Unyoda picks up
their eighteenth win of the year to cap things off
in the regular season. And we'll take a quick break

Today's game is presented by accurate Heating, Cooling and Plumbing.
Now let's head courtside. Here's Lou and Chris Postage.

Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
Welcome back to you and Jona High School, where the
Shrman's come out victorious sixty three two thirty five. We
are now being joined by victorious head coach coach Matt Colmes. Coach.
That first half offensively and defensively has to be probably
the best half you guys played all year long.

Speaker 4 (01:27:19):
Yeah, I mean it really was.

Speaker 14 (01:27:20):
You know.

Speaker 30 (01:27:20):
We we uh yeah, I mean we shot well, we
executed well, we defended well, you know, and and and
you know, Miami Trace is a great team. We just
played kind of out of our minds there first sixteen minutes.
We are capable of playing high level basketball, but you know,

(01:27:40):
that's probably even a little extra than what you normally get.
But I think that our kids understood how good Miami
trace was, and when we came into this game, I
think they knew we have to play the right way
or we're not gonna You're not just gonna come out
here and beat these guys if you don't do it right.
I thought our kids did a good job of making
the extra pass, not trying to score oversize because they
have a lot of lengthing without Guthrie. And I thought

(01:28:02):
we did a good job of ball movement tonight and
getting the open shot.

Speaker 2 (01:28:05):
Yeah, that was one of the things I was going
to bring you up. I thought, the extra pass, the
bull movement. I mean many times down to court you
had six or seven passes and then you ended up
with a great shot. And I thought, tonight, your guys
just did a tremendous job. And you know, you look
at the scorings and I you had four guys in
double figures in the SBC Player of the Year only

(01:28:27):
had six.

Speaker 4 (01:28:28):
Yeah, but he did a lot of things for you
to know.

Speaker 25 (01:28:30):
Yeah, no, he did.

Speaker 30 (01:28:31):
He did a lot of really good things. He defends
if you watch Filmy boxes out, every single time he
does a lot of just fundamental things correctly. He guards
tall kids, short kids, big post kids. I mean, he
just he's so versatile. So Blake knows that he doesn't
have to score fifteen to sixteen a game for us
to win. He normally does, but yeah, it just shows

(01:28:51):
you what type of player he is the night when
he's still making everything happen out there for us. So yeah,
I mean I was proud of him, just proud of
the I thought, Dawson Mitchell, really you've got to go
on to night for us a little bit, some offensive
rebounds and you know, like I told them in the
locker room, they know when they play a good team
and they play the right way, and then we play
somebody they think they're better.

Speaker 4 (01:29:11):
That we get a little loose.

Speaker 30 (01:29:13):
Well, they need not to have that attitude in tournament
because everybody's good. So hopefully we'll have the right attitude
and we'll go in there and play the right way
starting next Sunday.

Speaker 2 (01:29:21):
To combo, Well, Coach, tonight was the last night your
seniors will play a game on this floor. Talk about
those seniors and what they've meant to your program.

Speaker 30 (01:29:30):
Well, I've had them for two years, so they mean
a lot to me. You know, they're such great kids.

Speaker 10 (01:29:35):
They really.

Speaker 30 (01:29:35):
I know every coach says that, but if you know
some of these kids, or you go to church with them,
or you see them out or whatever, you know, you're
you're not fine thing. Any better kid than David Long
and Blake Fitch.

Speaker 4 (01:29:47):
I mean, those guys are great kids.

Speaker 30 (01:29:48):
Jackson Zigga, who's Dawl Sain Mitchell and those four guys
have just been class acts, done it the right way
and multiple sports. I mean you're talking Jackson and Dave
our three sport athletes, you know, and Dawson and Blake
only playing one sport. Believe me when I say they
are committed to it. But they never missed anything. They're
here every open gym, every weightlifting workout, everything. So yeah,

(01:30:11):
I mean it's a fun group to coach. I told
somebody this the other day. You never I never have
to worry about them doing something dumb off the court.

Speaker 4 (01:30:19):
I never have to worry about their attitude being bad.

Speaker 30 (01:30:21):
If we get beat, we take a tough loss, they're
going to bounce right back. So I said a lot
for those guys, those seniors, what they've done, you know,
district championship last year and an opportunity to compete for
one again this year, so we're hoping.

Speaker 4 (01:30:33):
But yeah, great, great.

Speaker 2 (01:30:34):
Four kids, well again, great job here tonight. Now you
got to wait a little while. You have until you're
off till next Sunday when you play in the district semis.
You'll take on the winner of Logan, Ehlme and McClain
next Sunday at five point thirty. Coach.

Speaker 30 (01:30:49):
Yeah, it's a little bit of a gap, right, I mean,
we're not super thrilled.

Speaker 4 (01:30:52):
About having to wait quite that long.

Speaker 30 (01:30:54):
But you know it's good though, because you've earned that
with your regular season. Other teams have to play Monday,
and you know we've earned that right. So we'll have
to be creative with practice this week. Maybe we're talking
to a couple of teams about scrimmage. We have scrimmages
left and getting together and doing something like that, so
hopefully we can set something up to stay sharp. But yeah,

(01:31:14):
I mean, it's we're excited about. It's exciting time of year,
but it's gonna be tough. I mean, you know Logan, now,
Greenfield and Courthouse, you know, three good teams. We're gonna
play at least one of them, hopefully a couple of them,
and we'll.

Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
See how it goes well.

Speaker 2 (01:31:29):
Coach, we will be with you the rest of the way.
Hopefully it's gonna be a long journey. But again, congratulations night,
congratulations on the great season in an SVC title.

Speaker 4 (01:31:38):
Thank you guys, appreciate.

Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
That was Victoria's head coach, Matt Holmes, you and Yoda.
They move on to eighteen and three overall and Miami
trades and they fall to eighteen and three overall, so
two equally matched teams as they go forward in the tournament.

(01:32:02):
Now we got Senior Player of the Year Blake Fitch
joining us. Blake, first of all, congratulations on the second
year winning the SVC Player the Year. Well deserved again
and it's been a pleasure watching you for four years
here at you and Nioto.

Speaker 4 (01:32:17):
Tonight, you guys came out on fire.

Speaker 31 (01:32:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:32:20):
I said, that's.

Speaker 2 (01:32:21):
Probably the best half of basketball. I've seen you guys
play all year long, and any team played so for
a while. So what was it like out there on
the floor And what were you guys talking about before
the game. No, yeah, we definitely came out hot.

Speaker 4 (01:32:33):
We just talked about in the locker room.

Speaker 31 (01:32:34):
I mean, we didn't get a whole tournament game this year,
so we were treating this as our first tournament game.
I mean, we knew would be a big crowd, big energy,
and one of our guys, Cadan Barrison here tours ACL
our last game and we know he really want to
be out here with us, So we said, we played
this for CP and we did that. We came out hot,
we shared the ball, made extra pass, and we did
what it took to one.

Speaker 2 (01:32:53):
And that's what I talked to coach Combs about making
that extra pass. And you're a guy that does that
probably too much. I know coaches want you to take
it to the whole little bit more, but you do
a great job of that. And I thought tonight that's
what got your team going, Yeah you giving it.

Speaker 31 (01:33:09):
Up, Yes, sir, I mean yeah, tonight we're I was
kind of being face guarded for most of it. So,
I mean tonight wasn't really my scoring game, but I know,
I mean, there's there's more than that way to make
an impact in the game. And that's why I try
to do, is make my teammates involved and help them
get greater shots.

Speaker 2 (01:33:23):
So I mean that just helps helps our team a lot.
Tonight was your last night to play a game on
this floor here you did four years and you know,
just talk about what it means. Oh no, it means
the world.

Speaker 31 (01:33:35):
I mean, coming here my freshman year, I mean's not
knowing really hardly anyone and starting freshman year, it was
definitely scary. And then I mean I just talked to
like old coach Hoops the other day, he texted me
and Thornce Berry. I mean, just it's gone by so fast.
Tell me how it was going by so fast. And
it's crazy that this is my last game here.

Speaker 4 (01:33:51):
But I'm glad.

Speaker 2 (01:33:52):
I'm glad it ended like that. Well, we're gonna be
with you the rest of the way on the tournament trail,
and we looked forward to a love tournament run. As
I said, it's been a pleasure to what you play
for the four years, and you know, best in luck
to wire whatever you do. Yep, thank you, all right,
congratulations Blake Fitch, So Chris again tonight, I mean, what

(01:34:15):
a what a game?

Speaker 29 (01:34:16):
Now?

Speaker 2 (01:34:16):
You know, obviously this is not indicative of what Miami
Trace is as a team, and the great thing for
them is you can just put this behind you and
move forward and learn from some things and hopefully they
get a guy like got three pack for their tournament run.
But I tell you what, Uni Yoto boy, are they

(01:34:37):
ready to go on a nice tournament run and it's
going to be fun to watch. Yeah, you know, it's
a good thing for Miami trace they get they get
to just put this one by and they've got to
get right back into tournament mode their games on Tuesday,
so they got to get ready to go for you
and Yoda. You know, Coach Hoops, sorry, Coach Colmbs. He
probably wants them to play their tournament game tomorrow. The

(01:34:58):
way they played this one and the way they've and
playing down the stretch, they've really been tested. They've proven
that they can play and that they can be in
any situation and come out on top. And they have
really been an impressive team to watch this year, and
I'm excited to look for what's to come. Let me
go over some scoring here for Uni Yoto tonight. They

(01:35:19):
were led in scoring by Jack Welch. He had seventeen points.
Isaac score Or Isaac Coy added fifteen twelve points for Jackson,
Zekafus eleven for Dawson, Mitchell six points for Blake Fitch
and two points for Aiden Cox for Miami Trace. They
were led tonight by Gage Bowers. He had twelve, Baron

(01:35:40):
Phipps with seven, Ty Huffman with six, Maddox Hernandez had four,
and then you had three points by Evan Parsley and
two points each by Luke Armstrong and Julian Baker. And
again that could be a team that we see in
the tournament rare. I should say, Chillicothy could see in

(01:36:02):
the tournament trail as they go on. So Chris, Monday
will be our first tournament game as we hit the trail.
It'll be a girls game at Logan Unioto against Sheridan.
They've matched up quite a few times in the tournament
over the last three or four years. That'll be another
exciting game. And then Tuesday, right back at it again
at Zane Trace with boys tournament action. Lynchburg play at

(01:36:26):
Zane Trace. Yeah, I know that Sheridan game will be
a good one for you. You got a former player
coaching over there, so it'll be exciting to call that one.
It's tournament times, It's the regular season's over now, so
it'll be a grind, but we'll have as many games
as we can right here on w KKJ. As we're

(01:36:46):
affiliated with the OHSAA, so that's right. They're gonna put
us to work, that's right. And again it's a great
time of year. That's why I love doing this and
it'll be fun to be along with you and try
to as many teams as we can past that district tournament.

Speaker 4 (01:37:05):
Well that'll just about do it.

Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
Here from Unyoda High School again, a very impressive night
for un Yoda they come out victorious sixty three, two
thirty five over Miami Trace for our coach, for myself,
for Sydney back in the studio doing her thing. We

Kingdom of Fraud

Kingdom of Fraud

It’s the unlikeliest of criminal partnerships: a devout polygamist from an insular Utah sect joining forces with a shadowy Armenian tycoon from LA. The result - a billion dollar fraud conspiracy. In Kingdom of Fraud, investigative reporter Michele McPhee traces the origins of the extraordinary alliance between Jacob Kingston and Levon Termendzhyan. Together, the two men trigger the largest tax investigation in American history and weave around themselves a web of dirty cops, influential political relationships and transnational money laundering. All this is set against the backdrop of Jacob Kingston’s clan – The Order. A powerful and secretive polygamist organization in Salt Lake City. To whom Jacob is desperate to prove his worth.
