Speaker 1 (00:01):
The following is a presentation of iHeartRadio Sports. This is
high School Baseball on ninety four Country w KKJA. Now
from behind home plate, here's Lou Postage.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Hello and welcome to the hotel grounds of Camp Sherman.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
We're at Unyoda High School.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
We got a SVC matchup between Zane Trace and Uniyodo.
Leading off here in the first inning for Zane Trace
is number twelve Mason Hartley on the mountain. For un Yoda,
it is the junior right hander Blake Sanders. I'm Chris Postage,
joined alongside by my father, coach, Lou Postage.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Coach. It's good to be at the baseball diamond. It
sure is nice Sunday evening. Here. Pitch that's gonna be
the strike out of the game by That is Blake
Sanders on the mound for Unioda their ace this year,
and he strikes out Mason Hartley to get the first
inning underway.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Sanders comes in thirty seven innings, pitch thirty two k's
an ERA of one point.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
One and two.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
His last outing was Monday, where he came in in
closing fashion for a eight I'm sorry, a ten to
eight win for un Yoda over Southeastern.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
For Zane Trace. Right now is Noah Kaiser.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
First PITCHA Kaiser's a ball outside, you know, two is
gonna be found off, pulled down the left field line'd
be one and one.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Chris and I we got the top two teams in
the SVC. We only got four games left in the
SVC this year, and Zane traces up by one over
Uniyodo in the league standings here. This game was scheduled
to be played yesterday, postponed it to today. What a
difference a day makes. It's still kind of cool and
(02:04):
breezy here tonight, but much less water out here.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Swinging strike by Kaiser makes it one two a half
pitches swung on and miss, that'll be a strikeout four Sanders.
Sanders comes into the game with thirty two strikeouts on
the year, nine walks, so he's a.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Pretty good control pitcher. And as I said, he's the
ace of this Unioto staff. That's what you get in
the game. Like is you're going to get two aces top.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Of the first inning. Two ounce now at the plate
for Zane Trace. Cunner mccallaugh, and that's a line shot
deep to center field at the fence making the play.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
That's Jack Welch. He put it right.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Into that one, but it was tracked down by Jack Welch.
And now in the first half of the first inning
here you're listening to high school baseball on ninety four
Country WKKJ.
Speaker 4 (03:00):

Speaker 5 (03:29):
Ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Welcome back here to union at a high school. At
the top of the first three up, three down, four,
the pioneer says, the pioneers now take the field on
the mound for them will be Manson. He comes in
forty one innings pitch this year, seventy seven strikeouts in
the era of two point one seven.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Yeah, he pitched on Monday, went five innings in a
shutout against Huntington, and he was a winner in their
first matchup between these two teams over at Sane Trace
earlier this year. Saint Trace won that game eight to
five and Manson was the winning pitcher in that game
went six innings and Gunner McCullough provided the offense there
(04:21):
with three RBIs in that game for Zane Trace in
that win and Chris. Since that time, Unioto has not lost.
That's the last loss they had on the year they
so they come in this game on a roll.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
As you mentioned there in the top of the first
this is the top two teams in the SVC. Two
baseball games played yesterday. Adina At piked in piked and
came out victorious seven to six, and then Huntington was
victorious over Payne Valley twelve to one. Those were the
only two games that got played yesterday. The others postponed.
(04:57):
So we all also got Southeastern at West Fall today
and this one here today. All of the softball games
are being played today and none of them got played yesterday.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Leading off the bottom half the first.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Inning, it'll be Jackson's Zickafouse, the three sport athlete for Uniyodoos.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
That an outstanding year in all of his sports this year.
I think he's batting three thirty nine on the season.
He was two for five on Monday, a double run
scored and two RBI's folleball tipped right at coach here.
Luckily they put that fence there for a reason. That's it.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Oh one to Zickafouse, just a little flinch there. Just
manson sets and that's a swinging strike by Zickafuse. Nice
breaking ball that just dropped out of the bottom of
the zone. To Zickafeuse, high it's a ball me two
(06:05):
to one, and that's a swinging strike from Zickafeuse, strike three.
That will be the first out of the bottom of
the first inning.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Yeah, a lot of breaking balls there early by boats
of these pitchers, a lot of movement, and again it's
going to be one of those cases where who's going
to get some guys on base and get things going here?
And uh, so far the pitching in the first inning
has been the story of the game.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Now, batting for you and Yodo number nine, Jack Welch,
the center fielder, that ball was wide outside, came all
the way to the back stop.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
I think they're coming at us here. Tonight. That one
one came all the way back here as well, where
our vantage point is right behind home plate here at ground.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
On the level, you know one the one o. Sorry,
another ball in the dirt. Check swing is gonna be
no good. So it'll be two oh chilly afternoon here
at Unionta High School. We got a cross BEA's going
(07:20):
from left field to right. There's a strike at the
bottom of the zone that'll make it two to one
on zickafoos and that is low and outside. That'll be
ball three, three to one count to the junior. Jack
Welch Hanson sets and that's hit up.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
The right side and it's going to be picked up
by the first baseman there. Yeah, a great job there
by Jared Wilson uh Cott almost got his love in
the wrong position, but he was able to get himself
right behind that ball and beat Jack Wells to the base.
Two down for the Shermans.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Coming to the plate now number fifteen, Carter Elliott, freshman,
betting in the three hole. Elliott batting two ninety eight
on the year. First pitch, swinging strike by Elliott. Manson
(08:33):
sets delivers chip to the right side. Another play at
first by Wilson pitches over to Manson, they get the
out at first base, and that's how the first inning
will end. Three up, three down for both squads. You're
listening to high school baseball here on ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Cop three. Got this.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
In the moments that truly matter, What do we do
rise to the occasion? Ohio Health, It's time ninety.
Speaker 5 (09:21):
Four Country WKKJ, the Scioto Valley's home for today's country.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Welcome back here to Uniodo High School. At the end
of the first inning, three up, three down for both teams,
main zero zero, Chris, You look.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
At these two teams, Ain't Traces twelve and five on
the year nine and one in the SVC. They have
won ten out of their last eleven games. Their only
losses to a really good Jackson squad. And then those
games they were averaging almost thirteen runs a game, only
allowing four. So they've really got on a roll here.
In the last you know month or so, uni Eto's
(09:59):
twelve and four, we were eight and two in the SVC.
As I said, their last loss was to Zaye Trace.
They won eight in a row, and so they're coming
in on a bit of a roll. This is a
game where again you have four games less than the SVC.
You have one tomorrow night, and then you have next
week Monday and Wednesday, and that'll be the end of
(10:19):
the league's season for both these teams. So must win
game for Uniota to stay in this race. Zane Trace
wins this one, that will go up by two games.
And speaking of next week, we will have the Zane
Trace Westfall game next Monday at Zane Trace right here
on ninety four Country WKKJ. Leading up the top half
(10:40):
of the second inning, third baseman number thirty Lucas Oiler.
Lucas is the leader in RBI's on this Aine Trace team.
He's got twenty six on the year, batting three to
ninety six, two.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
For three with a double, two runs scored in an
RBI in or game one day, dribbler to the left
side and he's thrown out at first base. Nice played
by the third baseman David Long.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Yeah, that has got a nice bounce on that one
came right up to him. We've been used to doing
some of the games here at the VA Stadium where
things really come at you nice. Here we're in the
you know, natural surface of the grass and the dirt
and sometimes you may not get a hop like that,
but good job there by David Long.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Now batting for Zane Trace, it will be the short
stop Grady Stewart, swinging strike on the first pitch.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
He talked about Grady. He's another three sport athlete there.
For Zane Trace had tremendous football and basketball seasons.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Sanders sets and fires, nice line breaking ball there.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
He strike two, maybe fell right off the table there.
Two to Stewart, that's high. That'll be a ball.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
One two count one out here in the top up
the second Sanders sets fires, breaking ball in the dirt,
swung on and missed, and that'll be two down for
the Pioneers.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
That's three strikeouts here on the night for Blake Sanders tonight.
And what is setting here at Unioto? You got the
nice trees as you mentioned, they really grew up there
in the outfield and it has a nice little setting
there of the pine trees outside of the outfield fence.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Now betting Zane Trace the designated hitter, it'll be Blake Payne.
First pitch was a strike in the zone. That'll be
a one count breaking ball that catches the zone as well.
Two strikes to the designated hitter, and Blake comes into
the game that in two to eighty three on the air, two.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Strikes, two outs, Zane Trace.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Sanders fires all high and outside.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Really does a good job when he gets ahead of
the hitters of seeing if they'll chase some.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Sanders delivers in the dirt check swing. No appeal will
be two and two.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Now we have three of umpires here tonight, one down
the third baseline, one down the first baseline, and one
behind the plate. Usually there's only two, but they bring
in three for tonight's scheme.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Sanders delivers swinging strike three, and that's how the ending
will ending.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Half inning will end, no runs, no hits, no errors.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
You're listening to high school baseball here on ninety four
Country w KKJ iHeartRadio.
Speaker 7 (13:46):
Goes one on one with Er Church to discuss how
he intentionally cuts songs to sound live.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
We did that. We cut that that way. I mean
we're in a room staring at each other.
Speaker 8 (13:54):
There's a lot of people that go in and you
know that outro on the outside is it's a minute long,
and it's nuts musically, it's three different movements. But we
didn't plan that. You know, we got in there and
started playing and somebody said, I got an idea here,
this could work.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Here, and we just kept playing and kept playing.
Speaker 8 (14:08):
And then we listened back to it and went keep
listening to iHeartRadio for more.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Eric Church had all your favorite artists.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
Ninety four Country, WKKJ.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Welcome back here to Unyodo High School. As we're getting
set to start the bottom of the second inning, we've
yet to have a base runner in this one.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Coach, Yeah, it's definitely a pitching duel right now. And
as I said, both teams putting out their aces. You
got Zane Trace. You also have a gunner McCulloch who's
had a great year on the mound as well, and
I don't think he's pitched since last week, so he's
got some innings to go today as well. So you
look at Uni Yoto as far as pitching wise, they
(14:50):
also have David Long who's at a really good year
on the mound for them, as well as some younger
guys sophomore Blake Smith and Chase Elliott both have done
a good job on the mound for U Niodos, so
they have some pieces to go to as well. But
the way these two going right now, Blake Sanders and
(15:13):
Pierce Manson. I don't know if we'll need that.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Starting the bottom half of the second, any we're gonna
get that match up of both pictures as Sanders comes
to the plate to face Manson. We mentioned in the
full slate of SVC Softball tonight. Just off to our
left here we've got the Zane Trace ladies taking on the.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Uniod to ladies in a softball match. Yeah, the SVC
sets their schedule so they mirror one another to help
out with some travel as well.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Manson sets and fires to Sanders that mall was found
back behind home plate. It'll be zero to one to Sanders.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Sanders betting three hundred on the year, so not only
is he a good picture, but he can hold his
own at the plate.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
One pitch was in the dirt. That'll be a ball
making it one one. Got the matchup on top of
the softball as well tonight, down and piked in a
Dina takes On, piked in dribbler to the left side.
Oiler fires over the first base and now I'll put
out Sanders first out here in the bottom of the second.
(16:30):
Now coming to the plate for you and Yodo number ten,
David Long.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
David Long betting two fifty six on the ear. I
believe on Monday he went three for three in that
game down at Southeastern, which was a big win for
n Yodo ten to eight. I believe.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
First pitch along caught him on the inside of the
hands there and it was fouled back behind the plate.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
David Long one of the better linebackers in our SVC
football and he also played on the basketball team.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
Oh one pitch is outside in the dirt, make it
one to one. Manson sets fires and that one was
tipped back behind the plate again, making one two to
David Long.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Staying alive there. He's coming up high with those fastballs.
Breaking balls will falling off, but the fastballs sort of
staying high.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
One two pitch bounces in the dirt, make it too too.
Another thing we're seeing with these pitchers, they're really not
getting behind in the count and they're really attacking these hitters,
getting strikes early. The two to two pitch tip down,
fouled back behind the plate, and our umpires now out
of balls. He's got to get one from the unio
(17:51):
to dugout and another one coming in here.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
But Yeah, both these foot and when you look at
their stats, they have not walked a lot of batters
here this year, so both of them have done a
good job with their control.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Two two pitch, that's a curveball that falls right into
the zone.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Now it'll be strike three. That was a hard one
to swing out. But uh boy, that thing just dropped
right off. That's that righty on, righty matchup. That curveball
look like it's coming right at the hitter and then
breaks right into the zone. Now batting for you and
Yodo number seventeen, speakman the right fielder Kadian Batten three
(18:33):
point thirty three on the year, senior.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
First pitch, Lowe, what was the ball? Two outs in
the bottom half of the second here, we got to
pop up into the infield. Let's come in and that's
going to be tracked down behind the plate there by
the catcher Allan, And that's how the second ending will end.
You're listening to high school baseball here on ninety four
(18:57):
Country WKKJ.
Speaker 9 (18:59):
Discover one of the CIA's illicit Cold War initiatives on
the iHeartRadio original podcast Operation Midnight Climax and Undercover Brothel
Dosing unwitting Americans with LSD, a mind control experiment gone
horribly wrong. Back in the fifties, the government wouldn't let
you watch Elvis Presley shake his hips on TV, but

the same government was running a brothel in broad daylight.

Speaker 5 (19:29):
Ninety four Country WKKJ, the Scioto Valley's home for today's country.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Welcome back to Uniodo High School. Through two innings, we've
had a very efficient pitching duel. Yet to see base
runners for either squad so far.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Yeah, great job there by Quentin Allen there to get
that third out, whip that helmet off right away and
was able to find that ball. That's a tough thing
to do, especially when it goes straight up in the air.
But good job there. And mentioned these two teams top
of the svc ron Allen the coach is zat Trace
and Tony Taylor the coach at Unioto. Both of them
been around a while and they have taken some teams
(20:10):
deep in the tournament. So two of the better coaches
in the league. And again two of the coaches that
have been around quite a while. I think they might
even be older than I am.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Chris be the seven eight to nine hitters coming up
for Zane Trees here in the top of the third inning,
leaving off would be the catcher that just made the
play behind the plate there, Clinton Allen, the young sophomore
(20:39):
number four. We'll face Sanders on the mound. Who's been
dealing so far. Alan, one of our first lefties we've
seen so far. You're left on right match up here.
(21:00):
First pitch from Sanders, that was tip fowl behind the
plate here being one count.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
He's up offully close to that plate to something you
had mentioned. There's no batter's box up there.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Sanders sets for the O one kurveball right in the
outside of the zone. That'll be strike two. That snuck
in that zone right at the last minute there. Two
pitch the out, swinging strike three, another k for Blake Sanders.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
That is number five on the night for Sanders.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Number Wilson Now at the plate for Zane Trace, first
baseman number three, that is Jared Wilson, another lefty here, Sam,
that's going to be called a ball.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Yeah. Wilson's had a great year so far for nine
batting average, one out from Sanders.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Head to the right side the airfielded by the first
baseman dumps it over to Sanders and he's called out
at first base.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
That was a really tough play made well there by
the first baseman and the pitcher getting over there. So
Elliott and Sanders really hooking up there because Elliott had
to come in, you know, to the ball. That ball
was a slow dribbler out there, so he had to
come meet it and then throw and lead the pitcher
as he got over there. Now at that for Zane
(22:41):
Trace number twenty two, Preston Lane, junior right hander, first
pitch is a swinging strike on the breaking ball. Preston
Lane came up big for these Pioneers against Chillicothe we
had them at the VA. He had a sacrifice bunt
to really get things started for Zane Trace to win
that game.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Swinging strike there by Lane O two count, two outs.
Here in the third inning, Sanders sets for the two
that's high. That'll be a ball one two count to
Preston Lane.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
That's one thing about baseball season. It's a long season.
In throughout the year, you're gonna have different guys step up.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Swinging fouled on the breaking ball there it or remained
one two, two outs here in the top of the
third inning to the one two again from Sanders, and
that's swinging strike three, another K for Blake Sanders, and
that's how the top of the aning will end. You're
(23:45):
listening to high school baseball here on ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Jill, why didn't you tell the class what you did
this weekend?
Speaker 10 (23:52):
Well, my dad and I went in search of some
magical middows and found a zillion of them in the
stream from our lookout rock.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
Then my sister and I escape. We're an evil sloking.
I went back to my super twig fort for safety.
Then we tell stories. Still, it got dark and the
big dipper let us all the way home. Where were you, Jill?
We went to the forest. It's not that far away.
Speaker 11 (24:12):
Ask your parents to take you and your friends to
the forest this week.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
It's closer than you think.
Speaker 11 (24:15):
Check out Discover the Forest dot org, brought to you
by the US Forest Service.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
And the Acts the Scioto Valley's home for today's Country
ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Welcome back to Unyoda High School.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
As we move into the bottom of third here, still scoreless,
still hitless for each side. You still yet to have
a base runner for each side. Good pitching, duel winding
up here for Unyoda coming up, we'll have the six
or seven, eight, nine hitters Smith, Goebel and White.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
Yeah, offensively. Both these teams are looking to get something going,
at least get a base runner on and see what
they can't move them around, But the pitching so far
has made that very difficult.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
We'll be Preston Lane. I'm sorry, Pierce Manson back in
the line for Zane Trace. He pitched on Monday.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
He went five innings, two hits, one walk in eight
K's light.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Coming up for you and Yoda number four. The left
fielder will be Smith. Don't want to short him. His
first name there.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Lake Smith Smith Sorry, four oh six on the year
is Blake Smith, sophomore.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Lake Smith was one for three on Monday with a
double run scored and a run batted in. First pitch
from Manson, that'll be a strike on the inside corner,
a red.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
One to Smith.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Pierce sets and fires and it's dribbled up the middle
and we picked up up there by the second basement
and throw it out at first. Is Smith? Nice play
there by Kaiser at second base.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Four to three. Put out there, and again nothing really
hard hit so far for both these teams.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
One out in the bottom of the third, stepping to
the plate is the designated hitter'd be Grady Gobel for
you and Yodo Blake. Smith had something to tell him
on the way back to the dugouts. So first bouncer,
bounce up the right side. It's gonna be a tough play,
but Pierce is gonna pick it up. Yeah, Pierce Manson's
(26:37):
gonna pick it up and tag out Goebel.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Yeah, that's a really smart play. They're in no sense
to try to make that throw. Just come on over
with your body. Your momentum is bringing you a first
base side and just make that tag.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Two outs in the bottom of the third, now number eight,
the second baseman gonna be Braden White and stepping to
the plate, Manson fires, I'll be a strike on the
inside part of the plate. One to White. The sophomore
(27:16):
curveball just missed, really fooled the hitter there and had
almost caught a piece of the strike zone.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Yeah, Brandon White three forty two on the air.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Two triples this year, another breaking ball. That one catches
the inside part of the plate. There'll be one two
to White.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
He was moving out on that one. He thought about
swinging as he's moving back. But a great pitch.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
One two from Manson setting up on the outside of
the plate, and White gets a piece of it, dribble
it up to the first baseman. Play at the plate
at the back Manson. They're gonna say he missed the bass.
Manson not sure about that one. It was close, but
they're gonna say White got there first.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Probably going to go down as an air as well. There.
That's a tough play for the first basement. Again, it's
slow dribbler down the first baseline and he was able
to get there, but the throw was a little off
to the pitcher, and pitcher just lost control where he is.
So we're gonna go with an air on that one.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
First base runner of the game would be White, of
you and Yoda flying up, turns over Jackson Zickafoo's back
to the play.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
First pitch is in the dirt. That'll be a ball,
So first pitcher have to go from the h stretch
here with a runner on first base.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Pierce Manson sets and he fires to zickafoos, and that's inside.
That'll be a ball two oh to zickafous. Just having
a base runner on base, that makes a difference. The
pitcher's going from the stretch. Now Manson checks over at first.
(29:07):
Now he fires inside again. Now it's three to ozer
to Zickafouse.
Speaker 3 (29:13):
Yeah, and again White down there at first base. He's
got I believe two steals on the air. Junioda not
a team that has a lot of stolen bases on
the air. I think they have just around eleven.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
Three to zer zickafuse taking all the way, that'll be
in there for a strike.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Three to one count.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Now, two outs here in the bottom of the third,
raiding White on first, Jackson Zickafouse at the plate. Manson
fires stealing is White. That'll be striked too, and the
ball goes away from the catcher, so that'll be a steal.
Standing up for White.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
That ball got away from the catcher there allowed White
to get the second base.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
I don't think he was even going to make a
throw out there. Full count, runner in scoring position. Two
outs here in the bottom of the third, Manton delivers
three called breaking ball on the inside part of the.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
Play, getting that baby came in last second. That's how
the third inning will end. Still scoreless. Here at you
and Yoda High.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
School, you're listening to high school baseball here on ninety

Speaker 5 (30:53):
Oh ninety four Country WKKJ, the Scioto Valley's home for
today's country.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
Welcome back here to uniot O' High School. After three innings,
we're still scoreless. Got our first base runner of the
game there infields. Well as we called it an air
could have been called either way. We are an official,
so we'll see how that goes down in the official
score book. But mister White got on base, he got
a stolen base, but Jackson Zickafrus was punched out at
(31:22):
the plate to end the third inning, and again that
is that was the third strikeout of the night for.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Pierce Manson. And on the other end, coming up here
in the top of the fourth inning, Blake Sanders already
has six strikeouts on the evening. As we start through
the order the second time here for Zane Trace.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
Sane Trace put down in order so far so here
starting the fourth inning, we'll turn over.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
The line up.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Leading off for them is left fielder Mason Hartley.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
Did you Mason two to eighty one on the year,
And again he leads this team and runs and stolen bases.
He's got eighteen stolen bases on the year. He can
get on base, probably going to see him going.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Cloud's covering up the skin here to start the fourth inning.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Looking at the play down the.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
Bust bunt perfectly down the side, Sanders flips at the
first first out.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
They're nice stretched by Carter Elliott and I coach Allen's
not real happy with that one, as he yells across
the diamond there at the first base umpire that was
really close play there, but he calls him out.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
I like the call there by Alan, looking to lay
down a bunt with one of your speedsters there It
was a good job. It was a tough play, a
falling down flip to first base by Blake Sanders.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
He can really do it all. On the bound.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
First pitch, it's going to be a strike to second
baseman Kaiser who steps in.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Kaiser a strikeout victim there in the first dingh one
liner to the left side, picked up by the third
baseman and thrown out at first ie. Good job David
Long coming in on that ball there, not allowing it
to take any bad hops. Don't wait on it. He
attacks it and able to get him out at first
(33:24):
base quickly.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Two outs here in the town of the fourth inning.
Stepping in for Redane Trace, the center fielder gunner McCollum
first time up a long fly out all the way
to the warning track if there is one back there.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
He really put a.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
Ride into it, but it was tracked down by Jack Welts.
First pitch to the left side, it's gonna be picked
up by Long on a tough hop, throws it over
the first and he throws out McCallum.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
That first pitch, swinging there and again great job there
by David Long.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Three up, three down again for Zane Trace, and that's
how the top half of the third will end. You're
listening to high school baseball here on ninety four Country.
Speaker 11 (34:05):

Speaker 5 (34:36):
Ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
Welcome back here to un Yodo High School. We're scoreless
through three and a half. Starting here in the bottom
of the fourth inning, we'll have Jack Welch leading off
for un Yode.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
I'm not sure exactly what happened there, but the Uniodo
dugout was worn there by the umpire is about something,
so keep an eye on that.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
No strikeouts that half inning for you and Yoda, But
they made three really good defensive plays won by the
pitcher Sanders and two over at third base by David Long.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
Yeah, and you can see their Zane TRACE's mentality here
as they go through the second time against Sanders is
to you know, be being attack mode, not waiting on
that ball, just going up there ready to hit it.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
Manson back on the mound for Zane Trace. As we
start the bottom half of the fourth inning, that was
plight by the little Wendy here we're outside. Little Chilly
had a paper fly away, a little snagged by me.
You had all your papers fly you had to have
all the crowd. They were over there scrambling getting them earlier, and.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
We were having a little difficulty getting on the air.
And as always are great studio producer back there, Sydney
News remain calm and got us on the air. But
my papers were everywhere and people are helping us out.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
First pitch to Welch, that's in the zone, that'll be
a strike.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
We also got a shout out here Pia address announcer
or announcer telling anybody it's live on w KKJ tonight,
so appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
Go one to Welch, that's gonna be low. That'll be
a ball count even at one. Now Jack Welts, the junior,
stepping in for the second time against Manson, shot up
the side that's gonna be picked up by the first
baseman Wilson, and he'll step on the bag for the
(36:45):
first out at the bottom of the fourth inning.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
I've only seen what one ball good out of the
infield there, Gunner McCullough's fly ball there in the first inning.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Now stepping in for Unio would be number fifteen, the
freshman Carter Elliott.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
Elliott grounded out to the first baseman.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
First pitch to Elliott, it say, swinging foul ball went
right over our head here behind home plate. Elliot steps
in for the one breaking ball up the right side
to Wilson. He's gonna pick it up and step it
(37:32):
on first base once again.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
That's two uh putouts, three unassisted.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Now stepping in for you and Yodo a pitcher number
twenty three, Blake Sanders, two outs here in the bottom
of the fourth we're still scoreless. Only had the one
base runner that was in the bottom half of the
third inning. Good pictures going on. Manson delivers to Sanders
(38:03):
and now to be a strike breaking ball fell right
in his zone.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
Sanders zero for one here tonight. The ground ball to
third base in the second inning.
Speaker 2 (38:12):
That breaking ball fell outside of the plate, so that'll
be a ball. Be one one to Sanders. One one pitch,
that breaking ball is going to be a strike.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Yeah, nothing coming in there too straight by any of
these pitchers. Even when they're throwing the fastball. They got
a little movement on it as well. One two by Manson.
That's chip to the left side.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
Short stop picks it up Stuart the first and throws
out Sanders. And that's how the fourth inning will end.
We're still scoreless here as Andrey's high school. You're listening
to the actor. Sorry, you're listening to high school baseball
here on ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 13 (38:55):
I'm Mini Driver and in my new podcast, Many Questions,

Speaker 5 (39:25):
The Iioto Valley's home for today's Country ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Welcome back here to un Yodo High School.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
We're through four innings here in about forty five minutes.
Thanks for really rolling along here. Really have only had
one instance where we had four batners in a half inning.
So as we start the fifth inning, Sanders goes back
to the mound for un.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Yodo just now reaching the mound after that half inning,
that quick half anying, he was a banner in one
of it, and he's going to get his warm up tosses.
But again on the line here tonight is the lead
in the SVC. Zane Trace has a one game lead
over Uniodo. They win tonight, they'll take a two game
(40:14):
lead with three games left. They don't know if you
have a schedule, but they play tomorrow night the Monday.
I know they play Westfall at home because we will
have that game next Monday at Zane Trace. So but Uniota,
if they're able to win this game, they can tie
things up with three games left.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
Coming up in this half inning for Zane Trace, we'll
have the four five six hitters of Oiler, Stewart in
the d H. Payne now stepping in Dawson Oiler the
third baseman number thirty. The infield breaks from their huddle
(40:58):
to their respective position, and Sanders takes his place on
the mound. First pitch to Oiler, that's gonna be in
the dirt, and that'll be a ball. Sanders sets for
(41:19):
the one to zero pitch, breaking ball that catches the
inside part of the plate. Oh even it up at
one one, one one to Oiler, that's a ball outside.
It's one of the first times we've really seen Sanders
miss his pitch there. Two to one, now breaking ball,
(41:45):
chip to the left side, dribbler up.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
To how long.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
It's gonna be a tough play, no throw, and that'll
be an infield hit for Dawson Oiler.
Speaker 3 (41:54):
Good job there by David Long of attacking it. But
that ball was hit so slowly right up the line,
and then by time Long got there, it just could
not make a throw. So our first hit of the
night and first base runner for Zane Trace, Lucas Oil
over my bed there. I think I called him.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
Dawson now stepping in for Zane Trace the third baseman.
Sorry the short stop, Grady Stewart, first time out of
the stretch for Blake Sanders squaring the bunt was Stuart.
He pulled it back and that was a ball outside studness.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
Has gotta be a spot where you're thinking about maybe
a bunt and Unioto has long plane in uh the
grass at third base.
Speaker 2 (42:45):
Stuart squares again, popped it to the right side, and
that's going to go out of bounds on the bunt.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
Got a little too much under that one. Yeah, just
stayed foul right down the first base line. Never had
a chance to stay fair there. It's one of those things.
Were a nice soft, thick grass out there that that lands.
I think it's going to stay there like one of
my wet shots. But that one stayed foul.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
One one now to Grady Stewart, steps in after the
signs from coach Allen Sanders fires Stuart Swinging fouled straight back.
That's going to go out of play. One ball, two
strikes to Grandy Stewart. Here in the top of the
fifth inning, we're scoreless. Lucas Oiler on first base. Sanders
(43:42):
out of the stretch, delivers to Stuart Swinging strike three.
Oilers stealing throw down the second he is safe, got
under the tag.
Speaker 3 (43:52):
Throw just a little bit offline. But again the strikeout
of Grady Stewart there first out of the inning. But now,
well you knew that's got a guy on second base
with one out.
Speaker 2 (44:06):
Now stepp into the plate for Zeene Trace. It'll be
the designated hit or pain for a runner and scoring
position for the Pioneers, and.
Speaker 3 (44:16):
A strikeout victim there in the second inning. So see
if he can't atone for that.
Speaker 2 (44:23):
That first pitch will be a ball on the inside
of the plate to the lefty one out here in
the top of the fifth boiler at second base, Sanders
out of the stretch. Sanders sets now fires foul straight
(44:43):
back to the backstop by pain making an O two count.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
Should it be a one to one count? I think
a one to one count. That first one was a ball,
but the scoreboard only has one out there.
Speaker 2 (45:02):
That pitch is going to be a ball on the inside.
Umpire's signals to to one.
Speaker 3 (45:08):
It's always good to see umpire's signal. You know, in
today's day and age, sometime they forget, but it's good
to see.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
That Sanders out of the stretch, oiler at second, Pain
at the plate. Another ball on the inside three to
one count, big pitch here by h Sanders for Unioto.
Here you do not want to put another guy on base.
(45:39):
Three to one pitch by Sanders on all inside poke
to the right side backing up is the right field
or oiler tagging at second and he's going to get
to third standing nice playing right field thereby Speakman on
a ball hit on a line by Pain.
Speaker 3 (45:57):
So now we've got a runner at third base. Two
ounce for Trace.
Speaker 2 (46:01):
Remember stepping to the play number four, that is Quinton Allen.
Speaker 3 (46:06):
That's solid contact there by Payne, but just not able
to it was right at the right fielder. All I
had to do was go back on that one. So
here you are Quinton Allen with chance to really aid
his team. Here with the runner at third base and
two outs.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
The other lefty for Zaye Trace, a favorable matchup, lines
it up the middle play made by Zika Fuz fires
the first and puts him out, and that's how the
fifth inning will end. You're un escapes that inning as
a runner was on third base, but we're still scoreless.
As we go to the bottom half of the fifth,
you're listening to high school baseball Here on ninety four
Country w KKJ.
Speaker 14 (46:48):
IHeartRadio goes one on one with Darius Rucker to talk
about his little girl's musical talent.
Speaker 15 (46:54):
I let her teach me to play they now, so
we sit down and we play together, and it's it's
amazing to me how she that's how she learned, going
on and watching all those you like, She watching for hours,
and she'll come back and just play songs. And I
love it. And so I'm letting her teach me chords
and stuff like that. I'm playing that.
Speaker 14 (47:11):
Keep listening to iHeartRadio for more Darius Rutgerd and all
your favorite artists.
Speaker 5 (47:17):
Ninety four Country WKKJ, the Scioto Valley's home for today's.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
Country Welcome back to Unyodo High School. It was a
eventful top of the fifth there, as Lucas Euler got
on base to start the inning, stole on a strikeout
to Stuart to get the second, was moved over to
third on a sacrifice fly, and then the third out
(47:44):
was put in play, but a good play by Jackson
Zikafus to end the scoring threat for Zane Trixy. As
we talked about, this game is for first place in
the SPC. Three more games left for both of these teams.
You Andi Yodo plays tomorrow night at West Fall, and
then Monday they're out at Adena, and then next Wednesday
(48:07):
they wrap up the SVC season at home against Huntington.
The Zane Trace team plays Friday at home against Pink Valley.
Next Monday they will be home against West Fall. Again.
We will have that game right here on ninety four
Country WKKJ. And next Wednesday they will wrap up the
SVC league play at home against piked In. So three
(48:29):
home games left for Zane Trace if they're able to
get to this win here tonight, a two game lead
on the rest of the SVC, and again you have
three games at home. If you're a Unioto, you get
this thing tied up with a win here tonight and
you've got three games or tomorrow will be a big
game up at West Fall. As West Falls had a
(48:50):
really good year. They're third in the league right now.
I believe they have three losses in the league compared
to two for Uniodo.
Speaker 2 (49:01):
Third baseman David Long stepping in to start the bottom
half the fifth inning.
Speaker 3 (49:06):
Pierce Manson on the mound.
Speaker 2 (49:08):
The first pitch is going to be found off to
the right side, you know, one count too long, and.
Speaker 3 (49:14):
Long was one of the three strikeout that Manson has
on the evening and back in the second inning five.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
Six and seven hinters do up here in the bottom
of the fifth, Manson sets now, fires that's in the
dirt and goes all the way to a backstop. That'll
be a one to one count down to David Long.
Manson ready with one one curve ball swung on and
(49:45):
missed its snuck away from the catcher there. It'll be
a one to two count. Too long and DA's only
base runner came on that close play at first base.
The one too dribbled to the left side. That'll be foul.
Speaker 3 (50:07):
Nice job there by Tony Taylor, not trying to get
that ball, and he saw a comedy. He's like, no,
we'll leave that one and go.
Speaker 2 (50:17):
We'll do the one two again Manson and it's found
off once again by Long. Good battle here looking to
get the lead off runner on for the Shermans. We'll
do the one two once again. Manson fires in the dirt.
(50:38):
That'll be ball two. Good at bat here by Blake Long.
Sorry David Long. There are quite a few blakes in
this game. But Manson sets with the two to two
curveball and he's all strike three.
Speaker 3 (50:56):
That would have been a tough one to swing out,
but that ball broke in there at the last minute
for strikeout number four in the night for Manson. I'll
be the.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
First out here in the bottom of the fifth, now
stepping to the plate, seventeen Speakman, the right fielder second inning.
Speakman flew out to the catcher line, drive up the middle.
That's going to be in the gap. Is mcauaugh gonna
get there? He does, and I'm in the air just
long enough for gunner McCalla to track it down, and
(51:32):
that'll be the second half second out of the inning.
Speaker 3 (51:35):
I think that's the first ball that has left the
infield for uniodo. And Man did kind of go a
long way to catch that one from his center field position,
all the way over in the really right center field.
Speaker 2 (51:49):
Now batting the left fielder Smith who did reach. I'm
sorry it was White that was on base in the
first one. This is number four, the left fielder Smith.
First pitch is winging strike two ounce here in the
bottom of the fifth. Oh hell, and that pitch hit him,
that drilled.
Speaker 3 (52:06):
Him right in. Did they get him in the forearm?
Looks like you got him in the right right forearm,
and there's not a lot of fat there to take
the brunt of that, and that had to hit some
boone and see its up and walking down the first
base here. But that's going to probably leave a mark,
and that's just going to sting for a while.
Speaker 2 (52:30):
Manson tested inside bear and as Smith went to check
swing at it kind of got him on the inside
of the forearm.
Speaker 3 (52:42):
Now you're taking a look at him right now. Looks
like we may get a Coach Taylor turns around from
his third base coaching box to see who he's got
available over there.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
Here in the bottom of the fence. We'll have a
runner on first baits the designated hitter will be stepping
up Grady Goebel. Looks like Smith's gonna be all right
as he sets himself up at first base. Now, Coach
Allen's coming out to talk to the home plate umpire.
Speaker 3 (53:17):
I think he's asking him did he not swing on that?
So now we're gonna get a He's going to go
down and talk to the first base umpire. And as
you said, it was a check swing and Economy wanted
to see if he went around on that, so Coach
Allen was asking for some help on that from the
first base umpire and he's home plate umpire says no.
Speaker 2 (53:40):
And we're gonna play on that. Look to be the
right call. I think he really more just checked his
torso there. But the bat never came around again.
Speaker 3 (53:49):
That's a tough thing, you know, your coach Allen, you
really wanted to question that, but you hate to as
they're looking at him making sure he's not hurt. But
two outs here in the bottom of the fifth inning,
run around first now, Gobel at the plate.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
First pitch, that's gonna be called strike one.
Speaker 3 (54:11):
Starting to get some sun in our broadcast, Lucas case,
and you feel better now it's about time. And then
we were getting pretty chilly over here. And one pitch
is gonna be called strike too. He's staying low there
in the h zone on those two pitches since we
get a high end fastball.
Speaker 2 (54:34):
Here, two out Smith on first base, Gobel at the plate.
Manson's pitch curveball gets away from the catcher. Catchers and
they're gonna call him out at the plate as he
was dead.
Speaker 3 (54:47):
I didn't even realize he called it a strike, So
they're going to say that was a strike out there
and the uh catcher touched him. Evidently he said it
because the catcher came right up and touch the batters,
so to be out number three and be a strikeout.
Speaker 2 (55:04):
And that's how the fifth ending or well in we're
scoreless through five here at uniona high school. You're listening
to high school baseball here on ninety four country WKKJ.
Speaker 3 (55:14):
Is that a falset running.
Speaker 10 (55:15):
That's not a falset, that's a river rushing through the forest.
Speaker 16 (55:18):
Forest rivers provide over one hundred million people with clean
water drinks.
Speaker 10 (55:22):
What I can't he because of the vacuum.
Speaker 3 (55:24):
That's not a vacuum. That's the trees in the forest
cleaning up the air we breathe. I didn't know the
trees were so amazing.
Speaker 16 (55:30):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
And the forest gives us shade trees to climb. Awesome.
Let's go explore some more.
Speaker 5 (55:35):
Visit the forest today and enjoy all it does.
Speaker 3 (55:37):

Speaker 5 (55:44):
Ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 2 (55:49):
Welcome back here to un Yoda High School. We've got
a good one here. Pictures duel between un Yodo and
Zane Trace. As we go to the top of the
sixth inning, worst school less Lake Sanders stepping back on
the mound for the Shermans.
Speaker 3 (56:04):
Sanders with seven strikeouts on the evening, no walks. He
has given up one hit, but that runner was left
on base and the end of that again the question
was brought up, was it a strike call because no
one really hurt it, and the Unioto degout was questioning that.
But again the catcher Alan for Zane Trace came right up,
(56:27):
so he evidently heard the strikeout call because he came
right up and tagged the batter, didn't even worry about
the runner running down the baseline, so he evidently did
make the call. And again we do not have to
hear as long as the players know what was called.
Speaker 2 (56:45):
Eight nine one batters d up here in the top
of the sixth for Zane Trace leading off. Razane Trace
is the first baseman. That's gonna be Jaron Wilson. First
pitch outsigned, that'll be ball one.
Speaker 3 (57:01):
Yeah, Wilson grounded out the first baseman uh Back in
the third inning.
Speaker 2 (57:08):
Wilson, the lefty stands in pitch on the outside corner
of the plate. That'll be strike one. One, one count
to Wilson. Sanders readies now on fires swinging strike two
by Wilson.
Speaker 3 (57:27):
That looked to be just tad high and outside there,
but good enough to swing out there. And one two
now on the.
Speaker 2 (57:34):
Battery, Sanders set for the one two curveball outside. That'll
be ball two, two and two.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
And you're getting the stage of the game here. You
just want to get guys on base and make things happen.
Speaker 2 (57:54):
Two two to Wilson. Sanders swinging strike three.
Speaker 3 (58:00):
Strikeout number eight on the evening for Sanders, now and that'll.
Speaker 2 (58:06):
Be the first down of the top of the six.
Now stepping to the bat four insane trace the right
fielder Preston Lane.
Speaker 3 (58:17):
Lane was one of the eight strikeout victims tonight.
Speaker 2 (58:24):
First pitch, swinging fount off to the left side. That'll
be strike one.
Speaker 3 (58:31):
Yeah, a little quick on that one, right down to
the third base line.
Speaker 2 (58:39):
Still Scorelers here in the top of the six, Sanders
with the pitch on the outside, that'll be called ball.
He won one two preston lane. Sanders fires curveball, swung
and hit dribbler to the third basement. Long fires the
(59:01):
first and he's put out. I stretched there by the
first basement. A nice play over at third by David Long.
Speaker 3 (59:08):
Yeah, David Long has really played a good third base
here tonight and not waiting on any of those. He
comes firing after him and uh charges him and gets
it throwing time. Two outs.
Speaker 2 (59:22):
Now Here in the top of the sixth, as the
line up turns over, Hartley's stepping in the left fielder.
First bit from Sanders in the dirt swinging strike saw
Hartley attempt to lay down a bunt his last time up,
(59:43):
he was put out at first by Sanders. Oh, one
gonna be on the outside. Make it one one. Sanders
sets in, fires in the dirt outside. It'll be two
balls and one to strike.
Speaker 3 (01:00:04):
Well, we had talked about how both these teams are
really putting up some runs as they come into this game,
and here we come up with a zero zero scores.
Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
We get to the top of the sixth, two one
to Hartley swinging strike two. Really impressed with that movement
on his breaking balls. Both these fishers really impressed to
two from Sanders fastball puts it right by Hartley and
(01:00:33):
that'll be strike three. That's how the ton f half
the sixth inning will end. Still score is here at
Union High School. You're listening to high school baseball in
ninety four Country w KKJ.

Speaker 3 (01:01:24):
Welcome back to un Yodo on High School as we
get set for the bottom of the sixth inning year
and a scoreless contest between n Yodo and Zane Trace
in the Battle at the top of the SVC Coach.
Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
It's really been a picture's juice dole so far, and
I gotta say I'm pretty impressed with what I've seen
from both of these kids tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:01:45):
Yeah, Sanders nine strikeouts on the night, he has given
up one hit, no walks. And then you turn to
the other side and you got Manson who has five strikeouts,
he has one hit by batter, but has not given
up a hit tonight. So again, both very impressive. Again,
they're the top pictures on their team, and these are
(01:02:06):
the top two teams in the league. So it does
not surprise me that we've got a good pictures dual
going here tonight. Where it's here in the bottom of
the sixth where you know, this is a seven inning
ball game, and as it's going right now, we may
be here a while. Leading off the bottom of the
(01:02:26):
six for U and Yodo, it'll be Braidon White, number
nine hole hitter. First pitch is gonna be in there
for a colled strike. This game is only a little
over an hour, about an hour and two minutes old,
and we're already here in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
White reached on the infield air that we called there
earlier in the last time up that one's roped to
the left side, and it's going to be tracked down
by Gunner. Re call it good con tack there by White.
But as we know, you got to hit it a
long way from Gunner McCallum for him not to make a.
Speaker 3 (01:03:06):
Play on it. He's done a good job of tracking
that ball. Last edding there was a good hit by
Caden Speakman that he ran down in this one good
contact by Brandon White. So they're starting to make good
contact here on Manson.
Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
One out here dribbler back to the picture from Zickafuse.
Manson picks it up and throws it to first for
the put out. Two outs here in the bottom of
the sixth.
Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
That was.
Speaker 3 (01:03:36):
Really that's only been what four pitches this ending here,
and he's already got two.
Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
Outs stepping to the plate for you and Yodo. Now
the center fielder number nine, Jack.
Speaker 3 (01:03:48):
Welch, both of his bats have been ground out to
the first basement unassisted. So see if he can't turn
on one here and get one to the left hand side.
Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
First, pit's going to be outsigned. That'll be ball one.
Speaker 3 (01:04:03):
Two outs here in the bottom of the sixth, one
oh be found out of play. Even the count at
one one.
Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
Fierce Manson sets now fires and that's going to be
in there called strike two.
Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
And again, as you talk about these pictures, both of
them have picked pitched a head and account for most
of the night as well.
Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
Two one to Welch swinging strike three another k from Manson,
and that's how the sixth then will end.
Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
Still scoreless. Here at you and you out to high school.
Speaker 2 (01:04:50):

Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
Welcome back to UNIONDA High School, where we go into
the seventh inning, still scoreless and a nice pitching battle
between Blake Sanders and Pierce Manson coach. I think if
you wanted to watch offense, you should have gone down
to piked In to see the piked In Adina girls
softball game earlier this year when those two played. The
final score was twenty two to nineteen. This game here
(01:05:57):
at Uniona High School is a dandy of pitching matchup. Yeah.
I remember I had asked the coach for Adina Jadwin
about that game. I said, so, I was a pitching
in that game. He said there was a lack of
But those two teams are really good hitting teams and
be interesting in that score here tonight. That may be
a one nothing game. You never know here tonight, But
(01:06:18):
tonight we're it's scoreless as we go in the top
of the seventh and something's gonna happen. And again, this
is a game for the SVC lead. Saint Trece has
a one game lead on Unioto and go up two
games with the win here tonight. Uniota would love to
tie that thing up and see what happens in the
next three games. It'll be two, three, four set to
(01:06:42):
come to the plate forward. Seeing trace here on the
top of the seventh leading off number four, the second baseman,
Noah Kaiser, and Noah Kaiser in hitting three thirty three
on the season here, he's oh for two here tonight,
but he is second on this team with runs scored,
so they'd love to see him get on and get
(01:07:04):
him around.
Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
First pitch of breaking ball called strike one to Kaiser,
I was in the dirt.
Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
That'll be a ball outside evens to count at one one.
I'd love to get him on base here with Gunnar McCallum,
the on deck circle gunner over four hundred average on
the season.
Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
One one to Kaiser lined up the middle, Jack Welch
coming in diving catch.
Speaker 3 (01:07:28):
Nice play, Jack Welch, great jump on that ball there by,
Jack Welch. Jack ended up diving a little bit on
that one to make that catches. That ball was going
down quickly, but again great job there. Both the center
fielders Jack Welch and Gunnar mccallar really good athletes.
Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
Now I have to play at the center fielder number
twenty four. Gunner McCollough for Zane Trace.
Speaker 3 (01:07:53):
Drove one all the way to the as you said,
warning track there in the first inning.
Speaker 2 (01:07:59):
First pitch from Sam bounces away from the catcher into
the dirt. It would be ball one. One out here
in the top of the seventh, I'll call at the plate.
Sanders fires, There'll be a ball in the outside part
of the plate.
Speaker 3 (01:08:17):
Two oh to mccallough. This is a guy you want
to be careful to as you're down two to oh,
and you don't want to just groove one right across
the plate.
Speaker 11 (01:08:25):
For m.
Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
Sanders fires a dribbler right in front of home plate.
Catcher is going to make a play, throw it the
first and he puts out. Mcallaugh. A nice play there
by Davis landing.
Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
Davis. Yeah, that ball just sort of died right there
in the front and he was able to make a play,
got himself into a spot where he could throw down
to first base and not have the runner to obstruct him.
Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Lucas Oiler stepping in the third baseman for four. Zane
trace two here in the seventh. Only one who's got
a base hit here tonight up the middle to Zickafuse.
Zickafuse making a play that goes over the first baseman's head. Oiler,
he's got to get back to the bag. He made
a play towards second, so then he became a live runner,
(01:09:15):
but he got back to the bag before her first
baseman got back there. So on the throwing air, oiler
will be at first base.
Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
Guy. It's on twice here tonight. And again that ball
just sailed on Jackson zickafouse from his short supposition over
the first baseman's head. So Grady Stewart comes up here.
Two strikes outs here tonight for him, and like to
change that quickly. Two outs and seventh.
Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
The oiler on first out of the stretch of Sanders
delivers to Stewart swinging strike one.
Speaker 3 (01:09:50):
Come on, Grady, eyes all over, Lucas Euler does have
seven stolen bases on the year.
Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
Stuart's steps in after getting the signs from coach Allen
oh one was high the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:10:07):
First baseman coming down there. That's a tough look back
into the sun. Catcher thought about throwing it down, but boy,
that sun's right in his eyes.
Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
One one to count to Stewart. Sanders fires check swinging
the dirt.
Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
No appeal. They're still not going to appeal. First base
Empire says no. So two to two and one here.
Good job there by the catcher of stopping that. Grady
Goebels behind the plan for Hugh Niotto. Two balls, one
strike to Stewart, two outs.
Speaker 2 (01:10:42):
Here in the seventh inning, oiler on first out of
this Red Sanders dribbler up the left side, Long gathers
it over the first and puts out Stewart out first.
Speaker 3 (01:10:55):
He has played a tremendous third base here tonight. That
was a high chopper and he was able to come
in and make the Play's how the top of the
seventh well end, We're still scoreless here at Unyoda High School.
You're listening to high school baseball here on ninety four Country.

Speaker 3 (01:11:50):
Welcome back here too, Unioda High School. As we move
to the bottom of the seventh inning, we're still scoreless.
A couple chances for both teams. The closest one was
when He's had a runner on third base with two outs,
un Yoda had a guy on second. But once again,
coach the pitchers, not just the pitchers, the defense. We've
seen by both squads as well. There's been some balls
(01:12:12):
put in play that the defense has had to mate
and plays, and they really have. Yeah, they have. And again,
as I mentioned, David Long playing a great third base
down there, and really both first basemen are doing an
excellent job Elliott for Unioto and Wilson for Zane Trace
here tonight, as well as the catchers Allen and Goebel
both doing a good job behind the play. But yeah,
(01:12:33):
the stars of the games so far have been the pitchers.
And as we go to the bottom of the seventh
for Unioda, if they want to tie this league race
up here, this is their shot. You know, they get
one across here and this game's over.
Speaker 2 (01:12:47):
Three four five set to come to the plate for
you and Yoda. In the bottom of the seventh, Pierce
Manson back on the mound for Zane Trace leading off
for un Yoda number fifteen.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
The first baseman Arter Elliott and grounded out both times
to the first basement. This one's popped up right in
the gap. The right fielder's coming over, calls it and
makes the catch. Wow, that was a lot harder than
we really think here. That ball was, you know, hung
up there. But again looking back into that sun. Is
(01:13:20):
the right fielder there, and Preston Lane did a good
job of making that catch.
Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
One away here in the bottom of the seventh, the
pitcher Lake Sanders, stepping to the plate for un Yoda
Manson sets he fires another ball into the gap, the
right fielder coming over to get it, and he makes
the play. Once again, I haven't seen too much out
of the right fielder, and here we've seen two really
(01:13:49):
tough balls hit it out there.
Speaker 3 (01:13:50):
And he made a made a good job there.
Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
That's Preston Lane out there once again, looking right into
that sun that you had said that peaked out here
in this bottom of hand for the seventh two outs.
Here in the bottom of the seventh, David Long, third
basement at the plate, takes the first pitch for a strike.
(01:14:18):
Manson delivers the O one and that was tip fouled.
It's gonna be two on Long.
Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
And now you're as a pitter, you're really in the
heart spot here. You got to protect being down to
two and the pitcher's throwing things up there that's breaking
all over the.
Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
Place, and the O two is going to be high.
That'll be ball one. Two outs here in the bottom
of the seventh, one to two count David Long, Manson
delivers swinging, tipped and cot there by the catcher, and
that's how the seventh inning will end. We're still scoreless
(01:14:54):
here at Union to high School, but we got a
good one going to the eighth. You're listening to high
school baseball here. On ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 18 (01:15:03):

it really is a lot of fun. The crowds are great,
and they come from all over the place because there's
so much to do here. And so a concert is kind.

Speaker 2 (01:15:37):
Welcome back here to Yunioto High School coach. You know
I haven't done many high school baseball games, but did
we sign up for nine innings?
Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
This could go on for a while. Fortunately, this game
is moving quickly, so we have plenty of sunshine or
sunlight left, so see how long this goes. But sanders
back out there for the eighth ending here. As I
was mentioning to you both these pictures, there is a
pitch count in high school baseball, but both of these
(01:16:07):
pitchers cannot be close to that.
Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
Coming to the plate for Zane Trace will be the six, seven,
and eight hole hitters. DH Paine up first. It has
turned out to be a pretty pleasant evening here. As
you know, the last two days we've had some rain
in the area, many games getting postponed. But glad we
can get this one in tonight, and we've got a
(01:16:32):
good one.
Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
Yeah, this is, you know, nice and cool. We're in
the fifties. I think breeze has not really been a
factor here tonight and starting to get some sun shine now.
So yeah, this is a wonderful evening for baseball. I
sat out in a lot colder weather for baseball seasons
in the past, so this is not bad.
Speaker 2 (01:16:57):
First of back to back lefties for Zane Trace stepping
into the plate, Blake Plane sorry, Pain takes the first
pitch for a ball flew out the right fielder here
in the fifth ending Sanders delivering the breaking ball in
the zone. Let me strike one. Sanders sets and fires inside,
(01:17:28):
swinging strike two.
Speaker 3 (01:17:34):
Yeah, that was definitely a ball that he swung out there,
and it's one of those things you know, late in
the game, do you become more patient of a hitter
as these pitchers are going longer and longer.
Speaker 2 (01:17:46):
One to two pitch from Sanders, that's high outside even
a count at two balls and two strikes two to
Pain swinging strike three was dropped. We're gonna have to
play at first base and he's gonna be put out.
(01:18:08):
So that'll be the first down here in the top
of the eighth.
Speaker 3 (01:18:12):
Be strikeout number ten on the evening for Sanders.
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
Now coming to the plate, the catcher number four, it's
Quentin Allen grounded out to uh Zecafusa shortstop.
Speaker 3 (01:18:34):
Fifth inning. First pitch catches an inside part of the plate.
That'll be strike one, go Wondie Allen, and that's the
swinging strike two quickly an O two count. The defense
really switched over to the right field side for Allen,
(01:19:03):
and the two pitch is going to be outside. That'll
be a ball. There's a big gap out there in
the center field left center field area.
Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
The one two in the dirt, that'll be ball two
to two count to Allen.
Speaker 3 (01:19:22):
Now let's hit the catcher. I thought maybe that might
have got him on the foot, but it's like the
catcher caught the front of that one. Anyway, you can
get on base here. These two teams spend a scarcity
here tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
Two two to Allen, swinging strike three, another K for
Blake Sanders.
Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
Litil Sanders started the game with two straight strikeouts. He's
started the top of the eighth here with two straight.
That's eleven on the night.
Speaker 2 (01:19:56):
Two outs here in the top of the eighth. The
first baseman Wilson's stepping in.
Speaker 3 (01:20:01):
Getting close to that pizza number, aren't we What is
it twelve?
Speaker 2 (01:20:06):
I think twelve down Cincinnati, you get free pizza. First
pitch to Wilson's in the dirt. That'll be a ball.
Sanders sets delivers dribbler back to the pitcher Sanders, who
makes a nice play over the first for the out.
(01:20:27):
That's how the top half of the eighth inning will
end scoreless. Still here at Union and High School, you're
listening to high school baseball in ninety four Country, WKKJ, say.

WKKJ, Welcome back here to Unyodo High School. As we
go to the bottom of the eighth innings scoreless. If
Uniyoda wins this one, coach, it'll be in exciting walkoff fashion. Yeah,
and you know these two teams have had a couple
of walk off wins here over the season and this
(01:21:34):
would be a huge one for Uniodo to tie up
the league standing. So a lot riding on this game
here tonight, as we've got, as I said, only three
games after this one in the league standings, and that's Friday, Monday,
and Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (01:21:52):
Pierce Manson goes back to the mound four zane trace.
Speaker 3 (01:21:58):
It'll be interesting to see how long these two pictures
can go. Stepping in for you and Yodo, We'll have
the six, seven, and eight hole hitters to be the
right fielder Speakman to lead off things here.
Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
In the bottom half of the eighth inning, Speakman flew
out to center field.
Speaker 3 (01:22:22):
Throw one out into the right center field that gunner
McCullough ran down.
Speaker 2 (01:22:28):
First pits from Manson is a swinging strike one. Pierce
Manson sets and delivers the one at breaking balls in
the zone for strike two.
Speaker 3 (01:22:47):
It's tough to get down to these pictures because it
could really work it.
Speaker 2 (01:22:52):
The O two from Manson down the middle PopEd into
the left field backing up is the left fielder?
Speaker 3 (01:22:58):
Is that gonna go? It's bottled? Got there? Oh wow,
what a job there in left field by Mason Hartley.
He ran over the shoulder basically is where he put
his glove up and that ball popped out and he
was able to hold on to it. So what an
out there, and what a catch by the left fielder
(01:23:21):
Mason Hartley. The dude.
Speaker 2 (01:23:25):
The good defense continues by both of these teams. That
was he was running back for that one. It was
a tough catch and somehow he came away with it.
Speaker 3 (01:23:35):
Yes, peakman really put a charge in a couple shots
here tonight. Now up for you and Yodo. The left
fielder Smith.
Speaker 2 (01:23:46):
First pitch to him was in the dirt and ball
one second pitch from Manson's a swinging strike one.
Speaker 3 (01:23:54):
One one count to Smith.
Speaker 2 (01:23:55):
One out here in the bottom of the eighth inning,
Manson's swinging strike too.
Speaker 3 (01:24:07):
Yeah, that was a huge catch here by Hartley. That's
the first batter of the inning he gets on there.
That that sets Uniota a big time there. But wow,
what a catch by Mason Harley right in the middle.
(01:24:27):
We've got a Smith with a one two count. Smith's
stepping into the dugout. I don't know if he got
banged up there. So number twelve is coming. I think
that what they said. I don't know if I've got
(01:24:52):
a number twelve on my.
Speaker 2 (01:24:56):
So we hope, I hope Blake Smith's all right. I
don't know if he came away with some discomfort there,
but it was immediately after he swung and miss he
turned and walked to the dugout.
Speaker 3 (01:25:10):
So now we're gonna have I have to look in
my super secret spot here, number twelve issaults. Oh, and we.
Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
Got to play at first That goes over the first
baseman's head, Salts all the way to second.
Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
So that was a strikeout and they could not get
that put out down at first base. So now we're
going to have a third strike that the catcher.
Speaker 2 (01:25:44):
Missed the put out over the top of his first
baseman's head, and now Salts is gonna make it to
second base. We've got a runner in scoring position here,
bottom of the eighth inning.
Speaker 3 (01:25:56):
So we'll see, are they arguing that the runner that's
all right? Last time we played these guys here, if
the runner interfered with the throwdown the first base or alright,
that's what they're going to uh talk about here the umpires. Oh,
(01:26:20):
so they're gonna say that he interfered. They're gonna say
he caught the ball. It was not a drop third strike. Oh, now,
Coach Taylor coming down out of his third base Doug
out here and asking what's going on here? The runner
ran back to second base. Now they're telling him to
(01:26:42):
come in.
Speaker 2 (01:26:44):
A lot going on here in the bottom of the
eighth at Uniona High School.
Speaker 3 (01:26:48):
But I believe we're I have two outs, all right,
So they have made the runner come in there, and
so we'll say that's an official strike three on Sultsan.
He comes in and now we've got two outs.
Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
Now stepping to the plate for you and Yodo number six,
Grady Gobel, the designated hunter two ounce here in the
bottom of the eighth, Manson sets in, delivers breaking ball
in the zone.
Speaker 3 (01:27:18):
Strike one. You're right, big break go one to Goebel.
Manson fires.
Speaker 2 (01:27:34):
Appeal down at first, he's gonna say he didn't go
it'll be ball two. I'm sorry, ball one one. One
count here, two outs in the bottom of the eighth,
Manson sets and delivers breaking ball. Liner bounces in the
(01:27:59):
left field. That'll be a base hit, the first.
Speaker 3 (01:28:02):
Hit of the night for Unioda. And how big is that?
Chris could have had a runner on second base after
that so called drop strike three, But that could have
been a run there, but a great job there by
Landon Davis of staying with that one and getting the
(01:28:23):
first base hit of the night for Uniodo.
Speaker 2 (01:28:28):
So two outs here, the runner at first, white the
batter now for you, and Yoda Manson delivers strike wand
two outs runner on first. Bottom of the eighth inning,
We'll get right roll. Manson sets and fires dribbler to
(01:28:50):
the right side, play by the second baseman tosses it
over to first, and that's how the inning will end.
An eventful bottom half of the eighth inning. But we're
still score is here at un Yoda High School. As
we move on to the ninth you're listening to high
school baseball here on ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 18 (01:29:09):
iHeartRadio goes one on one with George straight to discuss
how creating music is a part of his DNA.
Speaker 19 (01:29:15):
Music is always you know, if I'm making a record,
it's the most important thing at that time, and I'm
always thinking trying to find a song ideas. I've always
got that in the back of my mind because there's
going to be a future project down the road, and
so just I'm not gonna change that's who I Am.
That's what I've done for since since since the seventies.
Speaker 18 (01:29:35):
Keep listening to iHeartRadio for more George Straight and all
your favorite artists, ninety.
Speaker 5 (01:29:39):
Four Country, WKKJ.
Speaker 2 (01:29:44):
Welcome back here to un Yoda High School. As we
go to the ninth inn still scoreless, Sanders goes back
to the mound for un Yoda. Coach, you got to
applaud the efficiency that these pictures I've worked with as well,
because there's still in the game at this point with
the pitching limits, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:30:03):
It's getting towards the endo. I think both these pitchers
be harder to go further than this, but they have
both done a great job here tonight. And as you mentioned,
for Blake Sanders, eleven strikeouts, only giving up one hit,
no runs in his eight innings have worked so far.
Speaker 2 (01:30:25):
And you think about fatigue. Pierce Manson did go five
innings on Monday. Blake Sanders came in closing fashion with
just one inning pitched on Monday.
Speaker 3 (01:30:36):
So you still have a guy in Gunner McCullough who
can come in again. You've got a game tomorrow night too.
Zane Trace takes on Paynon Valley at home tomorrow, so
again you got to have a pitcher for that game
as well. But this is a big game for both
these teams and must win for Unioto.
Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
Visible bullpins down each line both teams. We have not
seen anybody warming up just yet. Leading off the top
of the ninth inning for Zane Trace, it'll be the
nine hole hitter, Preston Lane.
Speaker 3 (01:31:10):
First pitch is in there for a strike. Yeah. Interesting,
you would think maybe to try some bunny in here
to try to get on base, but either side.
Speaker 2 (01:31:20):
Really dribbler into the second basement, makes a play at first,
and that'll be the first out of the inning.
Speaker 3 (01:31:27):
And again, as you talked about defensively, really good job
by these teams.
Speaker 2 (01:31:32):
Nice job by White and tacking that ball and getting
it on the grass. As the lineup turns over for
Zine Trees, Mason Hartley checking in one out here in
the top of the ninth.
Speaker 3 (01:31:45):
Mason Harley has two strikeouts on the night and zero
for three officially.
Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
First pitch in the dirt, that'll be ball won. Sanders
sets now fires and that's gonna catch Hartley on the
elbow there. So Harley's going to go down to first
base and that's the first hit. Botterer by Sanders.
Speaker 3 (01:32:13):
Yeah, that's uh. First uh, the person to reach the
second person to reach base tonight by the hit ball,
Blake Smith got hit. Maybe that's why Smith ended up
after one of those swings. That arm was giving him
some problem.
Speaker 2 (01:32:33):
Second baseman Kayser stepping in now one out here in
the top of the ninth, check over to first base
and they'll get back in safe. That's a tough throw
down there for that first baseman to see. First pitch
was a called strike won the Kaiser. He steps in
(01:32:55):
after getting the signs from coach Allen. One out here
in the top of the ninth, partly over at first,
pick off the first and he's gonna get back there
in time.
Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
David Long playing in on the grass at third base,
thinking about taking away a possible bunt, so if Kaiser
is able to get that ball down third base, getting
buy Sanders delivers up the third baseline. Long gets it
over the first puts out. Hartley moves up to second base,
and again, great job air by David Long. He was
(01:33:29):
on top of that ball quickly. But Kayser does get
the job done and moves the runner to second base.
Speaker 2 (01:33:36):
Now with two outs, Gunner mccallis stepping into the plate
for zeeing trace a big spawn here for the Pioneers,
and we're gonna get an intentional wasp of mccallough.
Speaker 3 (01:33:46):
I was going to say, I don't think you pitched
to him in that spot with the first base open,
so we're gonna get a intentional base on balls there
as he now trots down to first.
Speaker 2 (01:34:00):
Lucas Oiler is going to step in now top of
the ninth inning, two outs, runners on first and second.
Working out of the stretches Sanders, he delivers into the
dirt stop there by the catcher big stop there ye
keeping runners on second and first. One ball, no strikes
to Lucas Oiler. Sanders in the stretch checks it's on.
(01:34:26):
Hartley delivers swinging strike. Oiler has been on base twice
here tonight. He's got a basehead stolen base, and he
also reached via the air.
Speaker 3 (01:34:40):
One to one count. The oiler.
Speaker 2 (01:34:46):
Sanders sets fires swinging strike two, one ball, two strikes,
two outs here and the top of the ninth the's
on first and second. Sanders gets the sign, sets fires
(01:35:09):
and that's gonna be high ball too good take thereby Oiler.
Speaker 3 (01:35:21):
To two count. The oiler Sanders sets fires line center field,
Welts hits the ground, hits by. Rolts, goes all right
in the fence. One run scores Oiler moving to mccaullaugh
coming around third, and he's gonna score now. Will be
a two run triple from Lucas Oiler. Yeah, he drove
(01:35:47):
that right into a spot that was really difficult for
Jack Welts to get over there. He tried, he made
a dive after it, but uh, he put that in
the gap over there in right center field and goes all.
Speaker 2 (01:35:59):
The way to the for a triple. Grady Steward said
at the plate, Now they ain't trace on top. Two
to nothing here in the ninth inning.
Speaker 3 (01:36:15):
Lucas Oiler, as I said, on base three times here
tonight and the night. That was tough to get on
base with these pitchers. But he's done a great job
and give him his team now a two run lead.
Speaker 2 (01:36:27):
Two outs here in the ninth, Stuart takes the first
pitch for a ball.
Speaker 3 (01:36:35):
Again. Sanders has pitched tremendously here tonight for Unioto there,
just gave up a shot there at the bottom or
top of the ninth.
Speaker 2 (01:36:46):
Now, Stuart lines one to the left center gap going
back is the left fielder and he's going to make
a running catch. Nice play out there in left field
by Smith, and that's how the top half of the
ninth will in. We'll go to the bottom of the
ninth Zane Trace on top two to nothing. You're listening
to high school baseball here on ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 16 (01:37:07):

Speaker 5 (01:37:38):
Ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
Welcome back here to Uniodo High School. A big tompath
for the inning for Zane Trace. With two outs runners
on first and second, Lucasoiler delivers a shot into the
right center gap and plates two runs as he gets
all the way over to third base for the first
runs of this ball game and given Zane Trace a
(01:38:05):
two to nothing lead in the ninth inning.
Speaker 3 (01:38:10):
Well, if you're Uniyoda, you know what you have to
do here. You got to score two runs here or
this game is gonna be over. And they're back to
the top of their order with Jackson Zikafou's coming to plate,
and again we still have out on the mound for
Zane Trace is Pierce Manson.
Speaker 2 (01:38:30):
Looking to go complete game plus extra innings with the
shutout to get his team a win here and a
matchup of one verse two in the conference. As we
start the bottom of the ninth heier Zane Trace up
to nothing, Jackson Zickafu's stepping into the plate for u
n Yoda. Manson sets now fires. First pitch is low.
(01:38:58):
That'll be ball one.
Speaker 3 (01:39:00):
Oh. If you're Unioto, you definitely need a base runner here.
You gotta get two runs. And it starts with someone
getting on base.
Speaker 2 (01:39:08):
The one oh is it going to be outside? Be
two to oh to Jackson Zickapoos and Zikafoos is a guy.
If he gets on base, he can cause some havoc
out there. Manson sets now all fires ball three on
the inside three O de Zikafoos. Now, like you said,
not one of the players that Dane Trace wants to
(01:39:29):
put on first.
Speaker 3 (01:39:35):
Three O de Zikapoos.
Speaker 2 (01:39:38):
Manson gets the sign, fires and that's in the zone
for a strike three to one now, and if you're.
Speaker 3 (01:39:45):
A Zika fouse, you want to wait on one that
you want because you need base runners.
Speaker 2 (01:39:51):
Manson fires, dribble to the right side and play at
first base by Wilson. He snagged that one on the
short hop and runs over the first to put out
Zika Foods.
Speaker 3 (01:40:03):
That got on him in a hurry, but he was
able to get that glove down and that ball found
a way into his glove. Big out there for you
to say the trades. Now step in the flate. The
center fielder Jack Welch. Manson wasting no time, fires and
(01:40:24):
that's a strike hod one to Jack Welch. One out
here in the bottom of the ninth. That's gonna be low.
That'll be ball one. One one count to Jack Welch.
(01:40:50):
Manson sits Griddy's and fires breaking ball. It would be
outside ball two.
Speaker 2 (01:41:06):
The two to one to Welch, that's gonna be on
the inside, and that'll be ball three. Three to one
to Jack Welch, one out here in the bottom of
the night's am trace on top of you and Yoda
two to one. Here's Manson, who started this game still
on the mound, delivers and that'll be strike two.
Speaker 3 (01:41:27):
Full count to Jack Welch.
Speaker 2 (01:41:35):
And the three to two pitch from Manson dribbled up
to the second basement, gathers it, throws at the first
and puts out Jack Welch. Two outs in the bottom
of the ninth.
Speaker 3 (01:41:49):
Sorry, the first take number three. You gotta get on basis,
stay alive here, I for you're you and to Yoda
two outs now, yeah, the first.
Speaker 2 (01:42:01):
Basement, number fifteen Carter Elliott, now at the line.
Speaker 3 (01:42:04):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
Now in the box two ounce in the bottom of
the night. They ain't trace on top of you and
yoa two to another Manson's pitch, it's gonna be high.
That'll be ball one three one oh to Elliott breaking
(01:42:33):
ball in for strike one. Manson sets now fires. That's
off the dirt and it's gonna be called a swing.
Gotta be strike two.
Speaker 3 (01:42:55):
You gotta be protecting the plate here now one ball
two strikes on Carter Elliot, two outs here in the
bottom of the ninth Manson looking at complete game shutout
here for Zane Trace. Elliot calls for time. Manson stays set.
(01:43:18):
Now he fires that ball is going to be high
well even at a two to two count. Manson sets now.
Speaker 2 (01:43:34):
He fires break off strike three, and Manson gets the
complete game shutout and Oiler is the hero.
Speaker 3 (01:43:46):
In extra innings, Zane Trace stays atop the s VC
standings with a two to zero victory over un Yodo.
Speaker 2 (01:43:57):
In extra innings, we'll take a quick break, can ramp
things up here from un Yodo High School. You're listening
to high school baseball here on ninety four Country WKKJP.
Speaker 3 (01:44:17):
This weave got.
Speaker 6 (01:44:20):
This in the moments that truly matter. What do we
do rise to the occasion, Ohio Health, It's time.
Speaker 5 (01:44:37):
Ninety four country WKKJ.
Speaker 2 (01:44:41):
Welcome back here to un Yodo High School. Where does
any Trace Pioneers come out victorious in nine innings versus
un Yodo with the final score of two to one. Coach,
First of all, what a pitching battle we saw today.
I think I see those kids go for another nine
or eighteen or whatever. They were impressive to watch. They
(01:45:05):
went all nine innings.
Speaker 3 (01:45:06):
Yeah, I mean, you're talking about Major League Baseball nine
inning game there. So again both these guys. Blake Sanders
for Unioto when nine innings, gave up two hits, two runs,
one base on balls that was an intentional base on balls,
eleven strikeouts, he hit one batter, so he did a
great job for Uniota keeping them in the game throughout.
(01:45:28):
And again Pierce Manson Gonaal nine innings for Zane Trace.
He gave up one hit, no runs, had one hits batsman,
and eight strikeouts, so again there was no really free passes.
You look at the line score for both teams, Aane
Trace two runs, two hits, one air, three left on base.
(01:45:49):
For Uniyodo they had no runs, one hit, one air,
and they also had three left on base. So just
a really good high school baseball game here with the
two top teams in the SBC battle in and out.
And now what you got is Zane Trace with a
two game lead on Unihto with three games left, and
(01:46:09):
they have a game tomorrow at home against Paint Valley
and then we're going to see him again next Monday
against Westball at home, and that could be a shot
where they end up getting the league title. Wrapped up
next Monday when we go out there to Zane Trace.
But just a great baseball game by these two teams
(01:46:30):
here tonight, and you know that's what it's all about, Chris. Yeah,
we give the pitchers the.
Speaker 2 (01:46:35):
Credit, but they had eight guys out there that certainly
had their back. I think the game David Long played
over there at third, the game that Hartley played, sorry
that Wilson played at first base for Zane Trace. The
two center fielders had great games today. It was a
very good, solid defensive game for both teams.
Speaker 3 (01:46:53):
And again you mentioned Harley Mason. Hartley probably had to
catch of the night there in left field as he
caught it, bobbled it and caught it again. Really, you know,
solidify and not allow Uniodo to get a leadoff runner
on base there in the eighth inning. And then the
offensive power for Zane Trace came from Lucas Oiler. He
was two for three on the night, had that two
(01:47:16):
RBI triple there in the ninth inning. That was all
the scoring for this game. And so when you look
at those two players as far as the defense, and
then the two pitchers, and wow, this was just wonderful. Yeah,
I think that's about every kid's dream when they're playing
even wiffle ball growing up. Two outs in the ninth
inning and you got to have it, and Lucas Oiler
(01:47:37):
delivered a big time bomb. Yep. And so I, like
I said, we will be back on the air next
Monday night from Zane Trace High School was Zane Trace Pioneers,
the league leader in the SVC with two games on
the Uniodo Sherman's. We'll take on the West Fall Mustangs,
who play this Uniodo Sherman team at home tomorrow. So
(01:48:01):
that'll be a big game for those two as they
try to stay in it for the league title. But
a big step for Saint Trace here tonight. And you know, Chris,
it was good to be out here again and calling
the game. Yep.
Speaker 2 (01:48:16):
It's good to be out my first baseball game. I've
never done that before. It was a little slower pace
that I'm used to with those high intensity basketball games,
especially the ones that we saw later in the season,
but fun it was here at Uniona High School. Well,
I think that'll do it. We want to thank administrator
Matt Colmes for getting us set up here a beautiful
(01:48:38):
spot right behind home plate. We think sitting you back
in the studio, for getting us on the air tonight
and then making us sound as good as we always do.
Coach enjoyed doing it with you. Everyone out there, We
thank you for watching, thank you for listening, sorry to
high school baseball here on ninety four Country WKKJ.
Speaker 1 (01:49:00):
You've been listening to high school baseball on ninety four
