Wu LZ Detroit one O six point seven Detroit's wheels
an I Heart radio station, Guaranteed Human All right, welcome
in six O five Josh and A Show, Josh and James.
Hello James. I can't believe everything's working for work.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
You don't know that it is.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
I don't know it trots long enough.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
To see if rough of the are Yeah, no, yeah no,
I'll let you know.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Okay, let me know this being flashes or you get
that text from Casey. Yeah, I think it works, but
I'm not sure. We'll just you know, make sure it
feel like almost every morning when we come in it's
a real mystery and we're ready to start the show
that all of a sudden it's a real mystery. Or
you gotta call out friends in India to help fix
(00:49):
the board here. Damn well, I think everything is good
to go. Wow, Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone, it's a
Sinco de Mayo miracle. Let's seven of the Fish. Oh
I see. It depends on if celebrating Hispanic people isn't
your jam.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Let's keep celebrating the nerds.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Star Wars, Big LaBamba, Day Obamba. Good movie to celebrate
Richie Valens his brother Bob, one of the great characters
in movie history, one of the great villains in movie history.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
It's not my first or my last.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Sadinas Salinas another big biopic about a Mexican American star, Salinas.
Anything for Salinas, these bumpers was pulled over by the
bust of Salinas. Me and my buddy's one of my
best friends when I was a kid, still is, that's
been almost thirty years. His family, well, his dad is Mexican,
(01:50):
his mom is from Honduras, Okay, so he's a Hondura
Mexican American. And I'd go to his house all the
time and we'd watch Sadinas really with Jennifer Lope about
Richie Vallens, who, of course spoiler alert, died in a
plane crash with the Big Bopper and uh, mister Buddy Holly,
(02:11):
if you spoiled that movie, I know. One of the
more interesting stories about that though, about the day of
the music died. This is not the day the music died,
by the way, this is just Cinco de Mayo, and
one of the guys who died the day the music
died happened to be Mexican.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Richie Vallens.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
It's actually like Richie Valens Wala I think was his
actual name, but then the record labels, I know, we're
going to cut his name in half. Pro I didn't
at that time the if I didn't want anybody to
know he was his badic that was part of it.
And his brother Bob says, that's our dad's name.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Man, you can't just.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Cut it in half. I don't know if that actually
happened or now, but it was in the movie, So
if it was in the movie it happened, obviously probably
you can assume. But Waylon Jennings was part of this
traveling band, you know, the outlaw country legend. Whyalon Jennings,
he was part of this winter Dance Party is what
it was called.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
There was this tour that was going from.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Midwest Town to Midwest Town in February of nineteen fifty nine,
and that's the tour that Buddy Holly, Richie Allens, all
these people were on. And they had a plane and
a bus. Because it was like frigid night whatever, the
bus was breaking down, no heat, so they flipped a
coin to see who can get on the plane versus
who gets on the bus.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
They flip a coin.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
And I want to say the coin flip was between
Whylon Jennings and Richie Vallens, or at least Waylon Jennings
was in on the coin flip.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Somehow they flipped the coin.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Richie Vallens Wins gets to go on the plane.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
At one point, Buddy Holly.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Yells over at at Whaleen like, I hope your bus
breaks down. I enjoy staying on the bus or whatever.
To which Waylon Jennings yells, well, I hope your old
plane crashes. And minutes later the old plane crashed. They
all died. Yeah, we know it. Heals about that one.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Probably not great.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
I mean he went on to have a very successful
life and career, but probably doesn't feel great. But anyway,
happy Cinco Demayo everyone. Let's celebrate Cinco Demayo the best
way we know how and the most palatable way for
Casey to accept it. I think here's a lost, lonely boy.
That's the closest thing I could do. It was either
that or Santana. I flipped the coin. Heaven, good Josh.
(04:35):
It is button all right, sports, the buttons are right
next to each other. Sorry all those sports, but that
could be fun too. I was like, oh, wow, it's
romantic here. There's sports. Well, there's nothing more romantic than
hearing about loose bodies in someone's elbow. That's what goose buddy,
I'll show you some loose bodies everybody and loose. That's
(05:00):
Trek Scooble who's got loose bodies in his elbow. So
he's gonna have surgery. Could be out two to three months. Wow.
So the the wheels have fallen off of that great
pitching stuff to put together. Hey, we got Verlander and
scooball and Fromber and well they still have Fromble, not Fromble,
they're in Frombles. We got on them they got they've
(05:21):
got Fromber and the pips Fromber's just out there and
he'll give you, you know, three out of four starts
will be pretty good. Then he'll have one where I'll
give up like one hundred runs. But boy, really, the
bigger question is what does this do for schoobl big picture,
because he wasn't gonna be here past this year anyway,
(05:41):
and there's a question about whether or not they'd even
maybe move him at the deadline depending on how the
season's going. Well, he'll have no value at the trade deadline.
Now I feel like we're stuck with it then, so
he's yours. You break it, you bought it, so you've
got him at least until the end of this year.
Now you're probably not going to have him long term anyway,
He's going to hit the mark and someone's still going
to pay him a ton of money, because those are
(06:02):
these rich teams that just have bottomless pits of cash
do They're like, Oh, you just had surgery for loose
bodies in your elbow, and you've had some Tommy John
surgeries too. Hey, how does seven hundred million dollars sound? Oh?
Take it. So we'll see. But the good news is
the Tiger's playing like the worst division ever, and most
of these divisions kind of stink right now. So if
(06:23):
you can just stay above water until the dude gets back,
he'll be there pitching five innings in a playoff game
and no time, Yes, buckle up the best five innings
of the game. He'll eventually get there. I guess they
overworked him. I guess is what it came down to.
My man had I think he was just coming off
a seven inning game and then his.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Arm fell off.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Oh maybe that's what happened. I think he pitched too many.
I think he threw too many innings. Now you know
why they take emptied after six. I know, he says, listen,
I told you I can't pitch longer than six innings.
The botties are loose. They can't loose in that seventh.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
INDI let me see if I'm right on that.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
I'm fairly certainly had one of his longest outings of
the year his last time out. I mean, figure up,
look at that April twenty ninth seven innings pitched wow
against the Braves. Then what happens loose bodies? That's right,
loose bodies. My man is not built to go seven.
I mean, if you look at what he's done this year,
here's Trek Scooble's innings pitched six seven, four and two
(07:21):
thirds six and two thirds six six. It was that
last seventh inning, well seven innings start that really derailed them,
put them over the top. And by the way, he
threw ninety one pitches in that game, which is not
the most he's thrown, but he threw ninety four the
previous game. So what happened is he threw one hundred
and eighty five pitches and back to back games. He's like,
whoa loose bodies? I think some bodies are loose. He goes, Oh, no,
(07:44):
let the bodies hit the floor and in the elbow.
Now he's now he's gonna have surgery. Guys are not
built to pitch long. That's why I would never in
a billion years pay a pitcher a lot of money,
because these dudes are fragilli there French, like, this isn't
nineteen sixty nine, and this isn't Dinny McClain or Bob
(08:07):
Gibson or somebody that's just gonna go out there and
give you one hundred and fifty pitches a game or
something and do it for thirty five starts and throw
like twenty five complete games. That doesn't happen anymore. So
the idea that anybody would pay Schooble that kind of
cash is dumb. Dumb. Someone will because it seems like
the Dodgers just have money and money is no object.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
They didn't get.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
Matter, you know, set it on fire. But that does
suck for the Tigers, who are I guess they were
kind of hoping that would happen after the season, like, hey,
we ran your ass into the ground. Yep, and now
your arm fell off, and now no one can have you.
Ha ha. If I can't have you, I don't want
no one else to have you, baby. But so that's
(08:49):
being to schooble for a while. So I forgot Verlander
even played here. It's like two three nothing. This has
been hurt the whole time. Ye smoke his first game, remember,
because that's all there was. There was no more Erlander.
Did he falling something?
Speaker 2 (09:05):
Did he fall? What is he like eighty? Did he
like hit his life?
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Alert? He's up there, He's like, oh, by falling? We
do have basketball, and I too? Who as the Pistons,
who won again, bitch, now have a new series. They
will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers. So, as I told you,
here's what it comes down to. If Cleveland can hit
somewhere in the neighborhood of fifteen plus threes, they will win.
(09:29):
If the Pistons can muck it up and make it ugly,
the Pistons are gonna win. They have a chance. I
still don't think the Pistons are very good. I know
that's not a popular thing to say, but I don't
think any of these teams are any good. I think
the NBA just kind of blows and I think most
of these teams are very whole hum, very just mad.
So with all that said, would I be shocked if
the Pistons won this series?
Speaker 3 (09:50):
No?
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Would I be shocked if they lost in five?
Speaker 3 (09:53):
No.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
If it comes down to having to outscore.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
Them, which I know sounds ridiculous, But if it.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Comes down to having to outscore, let's uguale the object
of the game. I get that, yes, But if it
comes down to having to outscore the Cavaliers, I don't
believe the Pistons will win the series. Oh boy.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
But if they can get into.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
An ugly game and they keep it in the nineties
and low hundreds, they may have a shot to their
style of basketball rag. But if the Cavaliers are gonna
knock down fifteen threes fifteen seventeen threes, the Pistons don't
have a shot because nine out of ten times they
can't do that. They can have nights where it happens
like Game seven against Orlando, but that's they're more of
a ten to three pointer type team nine eight, nine,
ten threes on an off night. The Cavaliers are gonna
(10:35):
hit twelve thirteen, fourteen, so we'll see again. I don't
think the Cavaliers are some special team that can't be beaten.
Nobody is because the NBA blows. So we'll see and
there you go. That is sports. We've got one thousand
dollars for you coming up just after nine o'clock, then
twelve other tries after that.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
It is Cinco Demayo.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
Who is your favorite Mexican get in now eight seven
seven eight one o six seven.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
It's the Josh.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
It is the Josh shell on one who six point
seven double llz de Troy Wheels.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
One of six point seven Detroit Wheels, Happy Sinco Demio.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
Mexican Americans don't like to just get into gang fights
and like flowers and music and white girl's named Davy too.
Speaker 6 (11:25):
Mexican Americans are name chata.
Speaker 7 (11:29):
Cella Gemma and have a son in law named Jem.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
Mexican Americans don't like to get up early in the morning,
but they have to, so they do it real slow.
Mexican Americans love educations, so they.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Go to night school.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
And they take Spanish and get a beadle. Mexican America
love their nanas and their no no's and.
Speaker 7 (12:03):
Their ninas and their ninos.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
Noa no no.
Speaker 5 (12:09):
Mexican Americans don't like to go to the movies where
the two has to wear contact gleanses to make his
blue eyes brown.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I'm going to make my.
Speaker 7 (12:18):
Brown eyes blue and that's all I got.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
How do you like it?
Speaker 2 (12:24):
It's a protest song that your friends Cheach and Chomp, Yeah,
that you bonded with over at astronomic cons.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
And you have to hang out for both seven seconds
in a photo that was great. Seven more seconds that
I've hung out with Cheach and Chong. Although my dad
hung out with Chong at one of these comic cons,
Like he sends me a video of him and Chong
hanging out. I'm like, cool, Dad, be funny, you hitting
the bong this out gosh. I told him this is
(12:52):
my idea for him. I said, you want to do
something that may go viral. What if you and Chong
got together? Okay, can you start doing the Scooby and
shag think because what is the idea of Scooby and Shaggy?
While there's stone the stone, so that's the whole bit.
And I'm like, well the line and up in smoke
is I wonder what Great Name Days like, because he's
like my Doggy and my stash Man. I waited three
(13:14):
days to get a bag man an old thing, and
I was like, what if, like you're talking with Chong
and you're you know, Shaggy, and Shaggy's like, oh, wonder
what Great Dame Days like something like that, you know,
like some dumb line like that. And I was like, hey,
maybe you could make something that would get you viral.
But he did it poorly and I don't think anybody
saw it. But I was like, that'd be funny if
you and Chong could do that, you know, and because
(13:36):
should be a crossover, be the best of both stoner worlds,
Shaggy Scooby Chong.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
Yes, but he bombed it so it never happened.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
I wonder if I still have that video somewhere because
it wasn't very good but funny, if he ever posted it.
He just said it to you, Yeah, he's.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Like, hey, Josh.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
I was like, well, maybe you should try at least,
but anyway, happy Sinco Demayo, everybody, somebody who was decidedly
not hispanic because oz Osborne and the other members of
Black Sabbath unless Geezer is Mexican. I'm not sure if
he is or not. Dragged you. Today is Cinco de Mayo,
(14:13):
which is arguably one of the two or three biggest
white days of the year.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
It's a big day for white people.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Yeah, particularly white people in the suburbs. Yes, particularly middle
aged white people in the suburbs. Yeah, like Margarita's, particularly
the doc of Rock. There is a big day for
people like the Doc of Rock. We got a stequila. Yeah,
big day, big, big day. It is funny because, like
(14:42):
you go out to bars and stuff, you never seen
Mexican people out on Cinco Tomyo. You just see middle class,
suburban white people, eight baskets of chips deep oh yeah,
getting to that level of drunk where you start trying
to speak bad like Spanish to the waiter like I
think it's HYSTERI racle like see.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
I'm speaking his language.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
I get I see what I'm doing. Yeah, that's nice,
that's good.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Because do you want more chips? No bueno?
Speaker 1 (15:20):
No, I mean nobody loves Mexican restaurants, more middle class,
middle aged white people. I love the Mexican restaurant. That's
what I'm saying. I don't know when it happens.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
I don't know if it starts early in life.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
For like, at some point there's a certain line of
demarcation and you hit a certain age, and what ends
up happening is you just start loving the Mexican restaurants.
I don't know what to tell you. It just happens
that way, like some of them puffy tacos. Like at
some point in your life you become your dad, they say,
Or like, you don't know when it happens, but then
all of a sudden, you start becoming the guy that
(15:57):
like the guy in the commercials.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
That they make fun of, the old Pece on the.
Speaker 8 (16:00):
Cos Those commercials really offend me because they always depict
some of the stuff that I do as being so horrible.
Speaker 1 (16:05):
See that's what I'm saying. I'm like, so they got
to say that that's what I do. At some point
in your life, that begins to happen. And I think,
at some point in your life you just become the
I want to go to the Mexican restaurant and drink
bottomless marks and eat chips and start sort of speaking
crappy Spanish to the waiter and thinking it's hysterical. Watch Selinas,
(16:31):
like you hit there's a point in your life this happens,
and I don't know when it happens. When did it
happen for you? Eight seven seven nine eight eight one
oh sixty seven. Based on the era of the music
we play, I feel like we have plenty of people
listening who will be going to the Mexican restaurant tonight
and saying things like no Bueno or c I feel
like we're gonna get a lot of those people Ola
(16:53):
Carlos or white girl's named Debby too, and there's none
in law name Jay, and like, I feel like we're
gonna get a lot of that today. When I was
talking to Casey's like, look, Cinco Demo is not really
a big deal in Detroit. It's more of a Saint
Patrick's day town. I'm like, yeah, because you're not out
(17:15):
and you know Royal Oak or no Berkeley. I bet Berkeley,
Like once you're like Royal Oaks still kind of hipster
and Ferndale, Berkeley's got that Mexican restaurant on the met
I'm saying, once you get to like Berkeley, Clawson, Rochester Hills,
the further out you go towards like Lake Orion Utica,
Auburn Hills when you start getting out to there, Today
(17:36):
is a giant day for middle aged white people to
go to Mexican restaurants.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
This is big.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
I think like Royal Oak is still too trendy for
Cinco de Mayo to be middle aged white people. They
got a really good Mexican restaurant in Royal Oak too.
I'm not saying they don't. What I'm saying is I
feel like if you look at just numbers, I feel
like if you look at just the breakdown of the numbers,
I feel like the number are greater per capita in
towns like Berkeley, Cows and Birmingham's a little too trendy,
(18:06):
a little two upscale, But I think you start getting
to like the Auburn Hills, like Orion Utica. Sterling Heights,
I bet I would like to see data on this.
I believe that Sterling Heights per capita has the most
middle aged white people going two Mexican restaurants on Cinco
(18:27):
Demayo of any city in the country. Well, I need members.
I think it probably be a combo of Sterling Heights
and maybe Shelby Township, just the whole township yeah, so
be on the lookout. Don't have a mar because those
cops are looking to bust you over in Shelby Town.
You should be going to Mexican Village right there, amandac.
You better watch out. You better look out, because they're
coming for you because they're bored. They've run out of
(18:47):
cats to rescue from trees and old ladies to help
across the road, and they're coming for you.
Speaker 8 (18:52):
Next, maybe get a cheese intillotta to go and that
way they get pulled over.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
You can just try to bribe the officer with any
of that. But if you want to get in eight
seven seven eight one oh six seven, you can also
text the word Josh and your message to five one
eight eight one. What is your go to spot for
Cinco de Mayo? Middle aged white people talking to you, Nikolas,
Do you have a spot? Not really, I haven't found
one that I just that I'm enamored with. There's a
(19:17):
really good taco place, a street taco place in Madison
Heights on John R. And I don't remember what it's called.
It's right across the street from the Big Boy. The
hell is the name of this place? It's on John R.
Right across and they've got really good tacos. But I
haven't found a Mexican restaurant that I just love. But
I'm also tough to please with Mexican food because this
(19:38):
is gonna sound stupid. I don't like cheese, so I mean,
I might as well not go to the Mexican restaurant.
Speaker 7 (19:45):
Right.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Like a taco, I think it's super taco. It's good,
got good street taco because there's a El Charro. Is
a good Mexican place that's locally around. You want to know,
Look a taco that I love and this is trendy
type place. But Condado and that O Taco, Yeah, the
one out in Troy, which also seems like a place
they really love middle aged white people Mexican food. But
(20:10):
they have a good shell on their taco. They got
like a spicy season shell. Oh that sounds good. But
I haven't found a place that's just really my go
to Mexican spot. I'll have to give you some options.
It's not Taco Bell.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Yeah, well, thank you.
Speaker 1 (20:23):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 8 (20:23):
Alas in Royal Oak, it's really good.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Is it fantastic? Is that the one that's on Uh
it sounded like eleven. Yeah, like that once and I
couldn't get any damn service. Real it took forever, so
we just left. It's in an old pizza hut. Does
that sound right? Maybe? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (20:39):
It is definitely in a yeah, like they changed it
up a restaurant, but they close to the one that was
right by my house down, so we have to go
to the one in Royal Oak.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Now they see here the phones are right now.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Hello wheels.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Hi.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
You know the best Mexican restaurant to go to is
Manuel'caco right now in Park.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Oh of that, I'm like someone that knows their way
around a delicious Mexican restaurant. Oh I do, I definitely do.
Speaker 9 (21:06):
I can put away a couple of us.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
A chit are you?
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Are you a middle aged white person?
Speaker 1 (21:14):
I am? I am forty dah. You fit right into
what I'm looking for, a forty year old white person
going to the Mexican restaurant. This is your day? Will
you be going out to this Mexicano? Will you be
going to the Mexican restaurant tonight?
Speaker 9 (21:28):
I will?
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Do you own a sombrero?
Speaker 9 (21:32):
I do?
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Wow? Do you know where it? And then she's gonna
order a Margarita on specially.
Speaker 3 (21:40):
Mar too.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
What is there good like?
Speaker 4 (21:43):
So?
Speaker 1 (21:43):
What is their special for Margarita's there? Can you get
it like in a bucket or in a boot or
something in a sombrero? I think you could get them
and like to buy the picture, but I mean a
boot would be a good idea, definitely, as long as
you don't taste like one.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
There you go exactly. Well, thank you, ma'am.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
See I told you middle aged white people love Cinco Demayo.
This is such a special day for them. She's gonna
go to her Mexican restaurant all In Park. I bet
she's gonna know what's gonna happen out there in Alan Park.
She's probably run run into Dan Campbell. He seems like
a guy. Oh yeah, would love that, would love a
good Taco Tuesday boy, dude, Cinco Demayo on Taco Tuesday.
(22:23):
What what it's like Hayley's comment, It really is. This
doesn't happen off that often, so this is huge. It's
a very big day. Anyway. Let me play a song
here and then we'll get back to celebrating the real
heroes of Cinco Demayo, middle aged white people. I understand
that Cinco Tomayo is actually about like Mexican independence. I
(22:45):
think I think this is to celebrate white people and
their love of Taqito's. We've taken it our own things,
all the other good ethnic stuff like America.
Speaker 5 (23:00):
This bumper is gonna go on the wall in my garage,
gonna I'm gonna put a little sign under it.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
It's gonna say this bumper was pulled off by the
buzz of Salina's.
Speaker 7 (23:12):
Let's see, I mean anything for Salnas you like it
or not.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
This is the Josh in his show, one.
Speaker 7 (23:19):
Of six point seven w LZ Detroit.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
Wheels, The Josh Innis Show Sports. Alrighty, let's see here,
what's cooking in the world of sports. Kiddos, Well, Trek
Schoobl's bodies are loose. Oh, let the bodies hit the
elbow because Terrek School is going to be out for
two to three months. Come on somewhere in that neighborhood.
(23:45):
Because Trek Schoogle's elbow is no good. No bueno, Hey
for Cinco de Mayo. You guys can practice for the
Mexican restaurant later. No bueno his elbow, No blano, does
he have elbow? Issue c see he does. Did he
pitch the more? No, no he can't. No plano at
(24:10):
le he's not for now. But he had loose bodies
in his elbow. That's what happens when you pitch seven innings.
That's not really Schoobl's bag, baby. Generally speaking, he's more
of a six and ditch kind of guy. Oh six
and ditch, he's a six and ditch, But instead he
went seven last time. And then you know what happened,
loose bodies.
Speaker 8 (24:31):
Let's see, we're worried about him emptying the tank, and
we got to worry about the bodies in.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
His elbow exactly. Again, the world's a different it's a
different place than it used to be. Like dudes used
to throw twenty something complete games like it was nothing.
Now these guys also did no training whatsoever. Like do
you think Denny McClain or Mickey Lolitch were like hanging
out on the weight bench, you know and taking you know,
creatine or drinking smoothies. No, there's feo. Look at Marlboroughs
(24:57):
and but there's something to be said about that, James,
because if you notice, those guys were never hurt. Bob
Gibson never seemingly was hurt. Guy would just go out
there and throw one hundred and fifty pitches and then
do it four days later, and did it thirty five
times a year for fifteen years. Nolan Ryan. Nolan Ryan
pitched till he was like forty five years old. I
don't recall Nolan Ryan having long stints on the disabled list.
(25:20):
You know why he was so strong as what he was,
it's country strong.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
He just went out there and threw it.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Hard to see these guys, they don't do that anymore.
So they're all wound tight and everything, and they get
hurt and some Jamo Gass team is gonna pay this
Tarrek Schooble five hundred million dollars. That team's probably the
Dodgers because at this point, if you're the Tigers, this
will lose, lose. Like the one thing that couldn't happen
was Scooble has now happened. Yeah, because if one thing
(25:46):
he could have, there are two things that could work
for you. He either pitches the whole year and the
team's good and they have a shot with from Burn,
they have a shot with Justin Verlanders. They built that
three headed monster, thinking hey, this is built for a
short postseason, I mean a short postseason series. You throw
those three guys out there in a five game series
to start the playoffs, you feel pretty good about your
(26:07):
chances of winning that series. That's why they built this thing.
It's a short term thing. This is not something they
expected to be there for ten years. You got an
old guy, you got a dude that's going to be
gone at the end of the year, and you got
Fromber Like you knew this wasn't a long term thing.
So the one thing that could happen for you that works.
Number one is you have a full season of these
guys you dominate, You get to the playoffs, and you
(26:28):
feel really good about your chances in any series with
the pitching you have.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
That's number one.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Number two, the wheels fall off, and at the deadline
you start looking to move guys like Verlander if he
had value, which right now he has none, And you
look at Fromber and go, well, maybe if there's a
team with money that's desperate at the deadline that thinks
they're one guy away from winning the whole thing, we
can get a boat load back for him. Now, neither
one of those things are in play. Now it's just well,
(26:53):
let's hope that our boy gets healthy here and maybe
you hang around for the postseason and maybe you know,
these three guys are healthy for that, but you got
to get there first.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
The good thing you.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Got going for you is the division stinks, so I mean,
who is gonna beat you? The Royals, the Twins, the
White Sox, and that happens. It was cold, it's cold
that day, so well look it's it said. Look, I'm
just letting you know. The division stinks. So now we
got loose bodies. So it's a sad day for white
(27:26):
people that like baseball. I mean, because like today was
a happy day, because today is Cinco Jamaio, the happiest
day of the year for middle aged white people, the
same people who enjoyed baseball, middle aged white people mostly.
Now those people have to be sad because Trek Scoobl's hurt.
You ruined syncwin to Myyo school way to go loose bodies,
You ruined Cinco Jamayo. You could have waited to make
the announcemental tomorrow, your sons of bitches, you hate to
(27:49):
do it on sync with Tomyo Eve May the fourth.
I feel like these are some people that are going
to be out on the streets tonight after Sinco Tomayo
celebrations out in the burbs in.
Speaker 9 (28:00):
Common is one of about the King.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
And I've put in a hard day's work, put in
eleven twelve hours a.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Night, and they ain't getting a drug in the lace
rang water, keep beers.
Speaker 10 (28:07):
They're making it laws where you can't drink when you
want to, can't.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
You have to wear a seat belt when you're driving. Chris,
I'm gonna become this country.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
It's not wrong, not wrong, but be careful out on
the roads tonight because it's Cinco de Mayo. This is
middle aged white people's super Bowl. This is where game
faces are on. We train all year for this, three
hundred and sixty four days in training for Cinco de Mayo.
Speaker 8 (28:37):
You think I can walk in there and just drink
ten to one dollar, Margarito.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Know you train for this, You build up over time,
you ren a tolerance. So when you go in on
this Tacco Tuesday, by the way, yeah, well I'm a wammie.
When you roll in there, you're ready to go. This
is a special day and you know what see, yeah,
we will so be ready.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
I mean white people, this.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
Is your day brings a tear to a glass eye.
That's the kind of day this is all right. Also,
the Tigers did lose last night, and the Pistons played
basketball tonight against Cleveland, game one of their second round
series over at l c A. And that friends is sports,
(29:24):
and this friends is Billy Squire. For another guy who's
gonna celebrate Sinko, Tomio and Style the doc of rock
Alto six point seven, Detroit's Wheels, Josh Nis Show, James,
Billy Squire.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Do you know the song rock Me Tonight?
Speaker 1 (29:36):
No? I do not, So you haven't seen the video
then for rock Me Tonight? Correct? Rock Me Tonight is
known historically as maybe the worst music video of all
time and the music video that killed Billy Squire's career,
literally killed it. This guy had two or three platinum
albums in a row, and he had the stroke, and
he had my kind of lover and just go down
(29:57):
the list.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
The guy had hits.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
Okay, lonely is this guy had hits hits. One video
destroyed all that.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
Now, remember this is in the mid eighties.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
This is like the early days of MTV where a
video could kill you, right, Like there were dudes like
no one knew what they looked like because they were rockers.
Then videos came along and guys had to make rock videos.
Like I could argue one of the great reveals of
all time was when Kiss had to make music videos
without makeup and people were like, these dudes are hideous,
these are unappealing dudes.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Like that's kind of how it worked.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
So Billy Squire had like three straight multi platinum albums
in a row, was selling out arenas. Okay, big star, Yeah,
put a video on MTV. The MTV video was rock
Me Tonight, and overnight that video killed the guy's career. Man,
and you've never watched this, I have never. All right,
let's see if we can kind of sync this up.
(30:47):
I got the song over here, so you let me
know when you're about to hit play on that. Okay,
all right, hit play. So let's see here. So you're
watching rock Me Tonight for the first time with this
video opening up on in a bedroom with some silk sheets. Yeah,
and there's a man with no shirt out under the covers.
I'm sitting up and mind you, he's a rock star, Like,
(31:11):
this is a guy that dudes in the eighties were
like this guy's a rocker. He's my kind of lover.
He's a strobe. He's putting his pants on, hiding his
grass rings. I thought it was a T shirt hanging
and thought he had what he cutty his hanging.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
It's gonna get worse.
Speaker 8 (31:27):
Interesting tank top got like a partial sleeve on one
of the arms that he's eventually air drumming.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
Puts on a pink tank top and it gets really wacky,
is what happens in this video.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
Very effeminine is how people would put it back in the.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Day, and back in the day, being kind of gay
wasn't as accepted as it is now, you know. And
this is a banger, it's a good tune. But the
music video where he starts dancing around and skipping and
crawling and he's like rolling around on the floor like son,
he has four dogs. That's exactly how he wrote that
(32:04):
in the script for this too, storyboarded it. He nailed it.
He still the pink nighties across the room. Yep, okay,
now watch he's gonna start skipping here, he said, there
he goes. He also looks like a temperate canter. My
son would throw Yeah, but this video right here with
(32:27):
the shirt. Overnight guy goes from putting twenty thousand people
in arenas to putting half of that in the arenas.
Speaker 8 (32:33):
Well, did he have to borrow his wife's blows? Oh,
here's a girlfriend's blows.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Well, the one thing people really crushed for underneath and
then he starts doing these really effeminine skips. And that
was another thing that he got hammered for, was the skips.
So if you guys have never seen this video, go
to YouTube and look up rock Me Tonight by Billy Squire.
This is an example of how overnight someone's career died
(33:01):
and then like after that he never put out a
platinum album again and got out of music a couple
of years later, like it destroyed Billy Squire. That's supported
for him, But I mean this video is not good. No,
And the big criticism was like, bro, it's super gay,
and I guess if you're trying to be a rock
star in the eighties, you couldn't be super gay unless
(33:22):
you were you know, every rock band that was pretty
super gay back in the eighties. It's like Motley Crue.
You can be super gay and wear makeup, but not you.
Billy Squire pumped the brakes set down there, Squire, who
do you think you are? Poison?
Speaker 11 (33:36):
No?
Speaker 1 (33:38):
I mean everybody was wearing makeup and women's clothes, but
Billy Squire hopping and bopping around in this room was
just too gay for the world to handle. Yeah, so
that killed him. That was the death of old Bill Squire.
It's a pretty bad video, man, so if you guys
have never seen that, you should check it out on YouTube.
But that overnight, I know, I keep harping on this,
(33:58):
but this guy was filling up Arena's twenty thousand deep.
I'm sure there are people listening right now. That's all
Billy Squire, Cobo or somewhere overnight.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Career is ruined.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
Pretty crazy though, because the guy sold a ton of albums.
He had three platinum multi platinum albums in a row
and then boom and this was a number one hit.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
By the way, for what it's worth.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
Oh, he's picking up a guitar and he's getting ready
to rock. He's opening up a door. Oh no, he's
in an elevator now, damn. Now he's he's like, oh,
there's somebody else playing guitar. He's got a whole band now, damn.
So there you go. Now you know, I've had some
little music lesson today. It almost looks like he like
rated Richard Simmons closet and he's and he really he
(34:40):
looks like he's sweating to the oldies. Yea't wrong?
Speaker 2 (34:43):
And there you go.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
So that's a history lesson on how a guy's career
died overnight. The note yourself, don't make a music video
like this exactly. I'm glad you know that I could
teach you something today. It's why I'm here all right,
smout smashing Pumpkins made it anny videos that ruined their career.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
They just stopped making good music.
Speaker 12 (35:04):
Well, it's six twenty seven Detroit's Wheels Josh in the show,
I was listening to the station during you know the commercials.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
Yeah, did you hear that Laura has a commercial for alcohol?
What I know? Right, I was listening to this. I'm like, whoa,
Laura's got a commercial. And not only does Laura have
a commercial, Laura has a commercial for alkyhol Wow.
Speaker 2 (35:26):
Yeah, let's listen to that.
Speaker 3 (35:27):
Hey it's Laura. And you may think you know Ohio.
Didn't you know that Ohio is home to four hundred
and thirty plus licensed wineries making No.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
No, I didn't know that at all. That's a fun fan.
I feel like I should know that because I'm a
guy that's on the radio in Detroit and I drink
a lot of wine.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Hey, it's Laura, and you may think you know Ohio,
but did you know that Ohio is home to four
hundred and thirty plus licensed wineries, making it these seventh
largest licensed wineries.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
This isn't like that that box wine that you get.
I do like boxed winings. Well, you get the box
and it's like four bottles of wine in one box,
and I know it says it's in a box, but
really it's in a bag. Yeah, it's a box, I think.
So let's let's start showing a little more accuracies.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Wine producer in the country. The industry generates six point
six billion dollars in economic activity, supports over forty thousand
full time jobs, and attracts more than two point three
million wine related visitors every year. Wine is one of
the things that makes Ohio one of a kind?
Speaker 1 (36:25):
So is it? I guess I'll take your word for it. Laura,
you would know better than I would you wine an
Ohio connoisseur, U.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
Experience it for yourself. Visit uniquely Ohio Wines dot com.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
Home girls, I know, homegirls like what you would call
an Ohio somalier.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
I guess, I guess she's in Ohio.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
She loves Ohio.
Speaker 7 (36:43):
Who knew?
Speaker 1 (36:44):
I didn't know that? How about that point? And probably
I'm sure we'll hear a commercial for that too. Maybe
she'll do a commercial where she drinks wine on a
roller coaster at Cedar Point. Come on, well, bitching about
Lebron This will be the things a big awesome Wow. Hey,
this is Josh. Why are they not the Indians? What
are the Guardians also drink wine in Ohio? I could
(37:08):
have done that. I would have mentioned the rock and
roll Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
I could have done this hall of Fame mention it.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Why'd you guys pass me.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
Over for this gig?
Speaker 1 (37:14):
I could have done it, bhie, And it's nine inch nails.
This is closer and we are Detroit's wheels, well six
point seven Detroit's wheels. I'm Josh, and I enjoy wine
and I've been to Toledo. Wow, ohl, see, I could
do the Ohio commercials. Hey, why why did nobody consider
me for this. I like wine, and I've been to Toledo.
(37:37):
And I have been to Toledo. I've driven through Toledo
but didn't stop. I have a lot of good things
I could say about Ohio. But but you would have stopped.
But I would have. But I was just on my
way to Detroit. There's no need to stop. But I
would have stopped if I needed to. Anyway, Today is
Kurt Loder's birthday, Kurloader of MTV news. Everybody remembers that
(37:57):
that's how we used to get our news as kids.
I've heard a load of MTV news. See I used
to love that stuff. Like you'd see the news break.
You'd be like watching singled Out or something, and then
you'd get an MTV news break You're like, oh no,
did another grunge chartist die? You know, just gonna say
your coolbain phone don't know. I've heard a load of
(38:21):
MTV news Did pot get shot again? That's because anytime
you saw the MTV news thing pop up, especially if
it were breaking news in like nineteen ninety five, you
just assumed that some artist was dead. Well, I feel
like that's how I found out Notorious Big Passage. I
would imagine it was right like those were the days. Though,
man like hell, Kurt Looader is a more credible newsman
(38:42):
than anybody on television today.
Speaker 8 (38:44):
It's like that news would pop up and I had
to get up and get the phone off the wall
in my house and they had to dial with my
best friend.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
But did you hear the please did you hear? Did
you hear the Biggie is dead? He's dead? Did you
hear that Kurt Cobain is dead? What did you hear
that other grunge artists are dead? I know I was
shocked too. They seem to be upright citizens. Wow, Kurt
Loder with the breaking news. Yeah, that's where you got
it though, I mean MTV ruled back in the day.
(39:12):
Kurt Loder and Kennedy did they have like a like
a new show too?
Speaker 2 (39:15):
I want to say they did. What was it called?
Speaker 1 (39:17):
Does it just called like MTV news or I mean
there was Kennedy Kennedy who I thought was really hot
and I still do, by the way, Kennedy is on
UH and I don't watch it, but she's at least
was fos on Fox Business maybe, And she had a
show forever just called Kennedy and I don't know if
it still exists or not, but it was. You know,
if Fox Talk Show with her and she has her
(39:38):
glasses on, she's another one of those chicks. If you
take the glasses off, you're like, Okay, you're not hot anymore. Yeah,
like a lob. Yeah, she's a leasa lobe. The glasses
make the hotness. Absolutely, that's what makes it so back
in the day. I know that there's an era of
people that bitched in the nineties because MTV didn't play
video anymore. TV shows the nineties on MTV were elite. Yes, Like,
(39:59):
I'm so sorry that I didn't live in the era
where you sat around the TV and just waited for
a music video to come on. But I watched Singled
Out and Beavis and butt Head and Daria and spring
Break and Yo, MTV Raps and TRL.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
I watched all that stuff and it was great.
Speaker 8 (40:15):
And a lot of that stuff is late nineties, you know,
the Beavs and button stuff, early mid nineties. Yeah, there
were still music videos on when that was going.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
Correct, but they also had shows because news flash, you're
not gonna get people to sit around to television and
watch music videos all day. That's why I love it
when people bitch and wax poetic about the way things
used to be, and they'll still say things like, oh,
you mean back when MTV played music? Yeah, like your
ass is gonna sit around your house for hours and
watch music videos in twenty twenty six. Hell, nobody sits
(40:44):
around the radio and listens to music in twenty twenty six.
Do you think people are gonna sit around and watch
MTV all ten hours of MTV music videos? No, So
it's just funny when people bitch about that. But in
my era, there were still videos, but most of them
were done in the form of shows. So you'd get
Headbanger's Ball, or you'd get Yo MTV Raps, and there'd
(41:05):
be occasional videos throughout the day, but it would be
like a TRL would have the hottest videos of the day,
but you'd also have Real World and road Rules, or
you'd have Singled Out, which is one of my favorite shows.
I loved it with Jenny McCarthy and she was super hot.
Then Carmen Electra, and then you would get the spring
Break stuff where like they'd wrap themselves into like a
human burrito, like a guy on top of a chick
(41:26):
and they'd roll them up in like a burrito. They
get they'd get hepatitis. Yep, oh God, did go to
Panama City just to get the HEP hepsi, all the
all the letters of the HEP alphabet given the HEP
ABC's dude.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
Then that was the golden age.
Speaker 1 (41:39):
You can tell me the golden age was, you know,
nineteen eighty four when it's nothing but videos and no
it's not the golden age of MTV was beams and
butt heead Daria into TRL in a celebrity deaf mask
celebrity death match.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
Yeh, god, celebrity death match.
Speaker 1 (41:54):
And this started out as like a Super Bowl halftime
thing turned into a great show claymation and like you
turn on and there would be you know, Liam and
Noel Gallagher fighting each other in clay form.
Speaker 2 (42:05):
It was great. Or then you'd get you know, Kurt
Looader with.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
MTV News, so you know, somebody died and it was awesome.
You'd get want to be a VJ where like the
Dave what's a dude? Dames? Dave Holmes became a VJ
out of nowhere, Jesse Camp Jesse nowhere. Like that was
quality stuff now and now MTV barely exists and it's
(42:30):
just which is like Pregnant teen reruns that or you
get Ridiculousness reruns. Oh yes, Ridiculousness is always on. Ridiculousness
is the official television show of a hotel stay. When
you're in a hotel, it's midnight and you're just flipping
through the thirty channels you have on a can on
cable in a hotel, Ridiculousness is going to be on,
and you're gonna see Rob Deer Deck and Chanelle West
(42:53):
Coast and that other dude. Just calculate, you know, you
dudes getting kicked in the crotch. Yep, that's what you're
gonna get on. So what uput on? When the kids
are napping at home and that show's been canceled, yet
they still just run every episode. I guess they ran
out of videos of people getting kicked in the crotch,
I guess so, but there you go. So Kurt Loader's
birthday today, I mean, we got our news as kids,
like we weren't watching NBCCBS, ABC, we were watching MTV
(43:18):
and Kurt Loader gave us the important news we needed.
So thank you, Kurt Loader you're a god. And he's
still alive. He's eighty two.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
I thought he was dead, but he's not dead. He's
very much alive.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
And he's eighty two. I think he's still reporting the news.
He might be because he have his own YouTube channel
where he's like still trying to kill you know, the
latest rock and roll happening. I wonder if they brought
MTV News back with him at one point recently. I
don't know if they did or not, but for some reason,
I feel like he did something recently.
Speaker 2 (43:44):
But I don't know.
Speaker 1 (43:45):
But he's eighty two and he's still kicking and probably
more reputable. I'd say, probably definitely more reputable than any
of the news people that we have on TV today.
If I could watch David Muir or I could watch
Kurt Loader, Car Loader, Kurt trust Day, I think I'm
going Jimmy Kimmel. Do you think I want my news
from Jimmy Kimmel? What I mean? They both the news
that vote Kurt Cooping's diff' I'm gonna trust that's the
(44:06):
guy I trust because he's honest.
Speaker 2 (44:07):
He's an honest newsman.
Speaker 1 (44:09):
All Right, just after nine o'clock, you will have another
shot at one thousand dollars. One thousand bucks could be yours.
And we have an epic crash of a monster truck. Yes,
a lady drive in the monster truck truck. How about that?
So we'll get into that. And it's Cinco Demayo. So
middle aged white people, this is your day, wake up
(44:29):
and celebrate the Mexican haddands do it now?
Speaker 5 (44:32):
Listen to the Josh Innes Show Anywhere set Doubleullz as
a preset on our free yard radio act The Josh
Innis Show.
Speaker 1 (44:43):
Alrighty, you know what's going to really have it made
is the first person that lands the exclusive with those
foreign bodies that are removed from Trek's school. Yeah, well
that'll be an interview. I bet yo who would get it?
Kurt Loader? We probably would. I bet Kurt Loader MTV
News he'd be all over of that. They'd be like,
guess what I got, guys, I got all the deats,
(45:04):
I got the deats on Trek Schoobl's elbow, they got
all the I've got a little With MTV news, that'd
be good.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
I think he'd get all the info.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
You sat down for fifteen minutes with the foreign bodies
removed from Schoople's elbow. Well, thanks, Kurt. First thing, I
want you to know that I don't think anybody is illegal.
What okay, then I'll just let you know. Yeah, I
read the sign in Ferndale. I agree with that sign.
In this house, we believe nobody is illegal, including foreign bodies.
(45:41):
In Trek Schoobl's elbow, I've taken up residents and I
don't plan on leaving. I was forcefully removed by elbow ice.
Speaker 8 (45:50):
I think it's a different kind of foreign bodies, different
kind of foreign bodies.
Speaker 1 (45:54):
Oh, I misread the story. Yes, I'm sorry. They're foreign
in the sense that they're not supposed to be, they're
not foreign, and that they're from another country.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
Wreck, I see, I misunderstood it.
Speaker 1 (46:04):
I misinterpreted the story. You don't know that. How do
you know my life, James, I'm a foreign body that's
in Terrek Schoobl's elbow. Well, you don't have a thick accent.
I'm sorry that everybody who's foreign has to have a
thick accent. Hey, Alan think is Canadian? Does he have
(46:24):
a wacky accent? He does?
Speaker 2 (46:26):
He does not.
Speaker 1 (46:27):
He just sounds like Alan thick and he's dead. So
thanks for bringing it up. You heard how we pronounced
certain words, you probably would know he's Canadian. Boom. He
doesn't say it that way. I've watched Growing Paints enough
once today. Oh yeah, he's on camera.
Speaker 8 (46:43):
But if you if you caught up with him a
casual day, you know he gets out the phone with
his son Robin.
Speaker 1 (46:49):
This isn't about Alan, think James. It's about me being
evicted from my home. Well, I apologize, but you don't
know what it's like. We need from your home. I
live in Tarrek Schooble's elbow. Yes, well, we need school
to pitch for our baseball team, so you must go.
I just think that's dickish, is all. Well it might be,
but I mean you being here, Squatter's rice. I mean
(47:10):
that might be true, Squatter, but his elbow. The surgeonman here,
The surgeon is coming to be a victy. Okay, it's
warming here and I'm tired of arguing with this foreign body.
I have a futon. Oh big whoop, A futon and
Tarrek School's elbow. Well, maybe if you had to pull
(47:31):
out couch you could stick around. The futon is not
gonna cut it. I have a giant beanbag chair that
I sit in when I play my video games.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
So you want to come over?
Speaker 1 (47:40):
Yeah? I think you'd like it? Here, you get the
new call of duty I do. Well.
Speaker 2 (47:45):
Look, hey, do you do you have MLB from Trek?
I have his card?
Speaker 1 (47:48):
Do you have MLB two K twenty six?
Speaker 7 (47:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (47:51):
Funny Terrek's not on it because you know he doesn't play.
But yeah, come over. No cam Cheetos. Oh, I love Cheetah.
I thought you would. I have Cheetos and energy drinks
and I play video games on my photon. Hey, foreign body?
Are you? Are you cool? Are you cool? You know
what I mean? I'm down? How do you think I
stay so chill? Okay? Yeah, because you know, once a
(48:14):
week I get my house gets shaken up a bit.
I thought it was an earthquake.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
It just turns out my man's pitching.
Speaker 1 (48:19):
Ye. Fortunately he doesn't pitch deep into games, so it
doesn't last very long.
Speaker 8 (48:24):
Okay, Well, come over, come over, we'll blaze one and
play some video games. Need some cheetos?
Speaker 1 (48:29):
Well, I mean I'm getting kicked out of my house now. Heyday,
In fact, today they're kicking me out of my home.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
Well that's I'll be there asam.
Speaker 1 (48:38):
I've been kicked from my home. Anyway, I gotta run,
happy sin go to my don't say same to you,
warm body anyway. Schooble's elbow. So I never had a
conversation with a foreign body and an elbow before. Well
that you have. Yeah, see you never know what you're
gonna get here anyway. The Pistons play tonight. That should
be exciting. So things I did not know? Did you
(49:01):
know that?
Speaker 2 (49:02):
Linda Ronstad is Mexican?
Speaker 1 (49:04):
I did not. I thought you might care.
Speaker 2 (49:06):
I don't know why I thought you might care.
Speaker 1 (49:08):
But Linda Ronstat, good for you the Blue Bye you
lady herself, Mexican American did not know that. I guess
I should have with all those documentaries about the Eagles
I watch, But no, I didn't know that. Linda Ronstat,
Mexican American, did not know. So happy Cinco de Mayo
to you, Linda Ronstat. You really Cinco Demyo is more
(49:37):
for the dudes and the Eagles because you know they're
just old white guys. Yeah, that's who Cinco Demyo's really for.
Like in my mind, Don Henley, is it like el
mcguay right now? Like on his fourteenth basket of chips.
Oh yeah, he's blitzed on margaritas.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
That's how I see Don Henley spending.
Speaker 1 (49:54):
The frozen strawberry kind too.
Speaker 2 (49:55):
Oh yeah, with sugar on the rim instead of salt.
Speaker 1 (49:58):
No salt, it's got sugar, so it's bad for your cholesterols.
Old Don's got.
Speaker 13 (50:02):
A sweet tooth.
Speaker 9 (50:05):
Yea.
Speaker 1 (50:07):
The drunker he gets, the more he starts talking about
that dead fourteen year old hooker at his house in
nineteen eighty that we don't talk about.
Speaker 7 (50:13):
Boy.
Speaker 1 (50:14):
Allegedly, he didn't know that she was underage and she
may not have been fourteen.
Speaker 2 (50:18):
I forgot how she was underage and she.
Speaker 1 (50:20):
Was a sex worker. Oh wow, allegedly. The more starting
to read as he drinks, he starts to cry and
talk more about it.
Speaker 8 (50:27):
You know, you're frona into my my modern daycret loader here.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
In my mind. That's what's happening. That's just all I'm saying.
MTV news, I've got news about Don Henley and what
he does on Synco demo. Dude.
Speaker 2 (50:45):
You know who probably goes hard on Cynco to my own?
Speaker 1 (50:47):
Who is Joe Walsh? Oh yeah, yeah, because of his
a hispanic heritage. No, because he's a former drunken drug user.
Oh so he probably has a really good time. If
I had to guess, he probab slips up. He maybe
gives himself one day out of the year. You know
who else probably goes hard on Cinco Demo. Who's at me?
(51:08):
Oh you do? Yeah, I'm the foreign bodies and Okay. Anyway,
So all that to tell you is that was sports.
I'm feeling frisky today. I don't know what I'm feeling talkative.
I think I put myself in a mood when I
heard certain things on the radio station today. It will
go unnamed, but they kind of put me in a
(51:28):
salty moods Now it's snarky. H Now I'm snarky's going
full snark. But now I'm kind of leveling out because
I'm hearing Linda Ronstadt breaking news. By the way, MTV news.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
She's Mexican.
Speaker 1 (51:42):
I didn't know this. Good for her. I guess I
should have known. Born in Tucson, Arizona.
Speaker 2 (51:46):
Boy, she was so hot back in the day, this
Linda Ronstad.
Speaker 1 (51:49):
That's why all like those dudes were all into her,
the Eagles, Jackson Brown, Poco, they all wanted to have
a go that Philly anyway, I guess I should play
some rock and roll before I get in trouble again.
We'll come back and talk more about famous Mexican though
and lady truck drivers and foreign bodies and elbows lady
monster truck driver. Yeah, ladies can do stuff now, Jimmy, Sure,
(52:13):
all right, So let's play some rock and roll first.
Something uplifting, something that gets you charged up this morning,
lumpy distressed. Something that will help you destress, not Linda
Ronstad that makes you more stressed out. Lincoln Park will
destress you.
Speaker 2 (52:26):
We are Detroit's wheels.
Speaker 1 (52:28):
Josh and James. If you got something you want to
say eight seven seven nine eight eight one oh six seven.
That is the phone number eight seven seven nine eight
eight one oh six seven. You can also text the
word Josh in your message to five one eight eight
one five one eight eight one. Text the word Josh
in your message. This text says Josh, this is not Ozzy.
Speaker 2 (52:48):
What is it with Sabbath? Did I get that wrong?
Time After?
Speaker 1 (52:51):
I thought Time after Time was an Azsie song. Maybe
maybe it's a Black Sabbath song. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (52:56):
I think it's an Ozsie song.
Speaker 1 (52:57):
I'm fairly certain it is so my bad if I misspoke,
but like, we'll get so it's Ozzy.
Speaker 2 (53:04):
So I don't know.
Speaker 1 (53:05):
I thought maybe i'd screwed up after my horrible run
on Rock and Roll Jeopardy yesterday when I missed like
seven or it was maybe the worst thing ever. There's
nothing worse than having Casey come in and judge you.
Oh boy, Casey did. He's like, how did you miss synchronicity?
I'm like, I don't know. I don't like crappy music.
That's why get lost. Uh but yeah, so this is
one too. I told you.
Speaker 8 (53:25):
I'm like, I think it's the police. But if you
don't know, then you're not saying this the police. That
I'm probably wrong. Yeah, and that was actually right.
Speaker 1 (53:32):
You can know it. Look if I don't know it,
pop in because we'll do it again later. So we'll
do it again today. Let me see here the phones
are ringing eight seven seven nine eight eight one O
six seven eight seven seven nine eight eight one O
six seven is the phone number? Hello Wheels, who's this?
This is Matt?
Speaker 2 (53:48):
Hey, Matt, what's happens?
Speaker 1 (53:49):
Josh?
Speaker 2 (53:50):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (53:51):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (53:52):
Good?
Speaker 1 (53:52):
Yesterday?
Speaker 9 (53:54):
I remember I'm new to the station, but someone was
talking about how bad Steam was.
Speaker 2 (54:00):
Yeah, right, yep, who is that?
Speaker 1 (54:04):
Okay? Oh is you?
Speaker 9 (54:06):
You?
Speaker 1 (54:06):
Let you in?
Speaker 9 (54:07):
Josh Gosh?
Speaker 1 (54:09):
Okay, all right?
Speaker 13 (54:11):
And then directly after the ramp we play that song
cumbersome but who knows.
Speaker 1 (54:17):
I don't even know jun world. Yeah, I thought that's
a horrible song.
Speaker 4 (54:27):
Well, no matter what happened, is much better than Sting,
is much better than that.
Speaker 1 (54:31):
Well, well, I appreciate that, but Sting will not filate you,
no matter how many nice things you say about him.
He doesn't care. Let's see, you might maybe do something
with some tantric flatia wheels. Hello, Hello, Hey, what's up? Hey?
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (54:48):
I'm just hanging out?
Speaker 1 (54:50):
Yeah? That was a Cyndi law first song.
Speaker 9 (54:54):
What was.
Speaker 1 (54:56):
The Time after Time? No, it's it's Ozzy. No, yes,
Time after Time is an Ozzie song unless it's Sambath
and I'm wrong on this. You're wrong, No, I'm right.
Time after Time is a song by Ozzie.
Speaker 13 (55:14):
Yeah, Ozzie Osbourne don't sing that song.
Speaker 1 (55:20):
Ozzy Osbourne sings Time after Time? All right, I don't
know what people have lost their minds. We got one
guy who's standing for staying. We found the one and
it's not well. Start two with Casey, and then we
got guys calling me telling me that that Ozzie doesn't
(55:40):
sing Time after Time. People are weird today. I don't
know what if look if you want to call it,
I don't know how to get a tequila early. Look.
I understand that it's white people wasted day today because
it's Sinko Demayo. But like, people are calling me telling
me Cindy Lauper like, I don't know what that is,
but I know that we play Ozzy and and let's
(56:02):
look help me out eight seven seven nine eight eight
one oh six seven eight seven seven nine eight eight
one oh six seven Is it Ozzy or is it Sabbath? Like?
I'm fairly certain Time after Time is a solo AUSSI
song and that's on tiers.
Speaker 2 (56:16):
People are tripping today. Man, it's very weird again.
Speaker 1 (56:19):
I think you're right. It's white people waste today. It's
the biggest white people waste today of the year, this
side of of santiatricks Day, it's Sinko Demayo. I don't
know what's happening here, but people are nuts today. So
eight seven seven nine eight eight one oh six seven
eight seven seven nine eight eight one oh six seven.
That is how you get in. You can also text
the word Josh in your message to five one eight
(56:39):
eight one and help me out here? Am I wrong?
Speaker 9 (56:42):
Time?
Speaker 2 (56:42):
After time is an AZSI song? Yes, let's see wheels?
Speaker 1 (56:45):
Hello?
Speaker 2 (56:45):
Who's this?
Speaker 1 (56:47):
Ruis you could baby? That was Cindey Rockey. You played
two Ozzys nore Tiers time time. You just played City Roper.
I think I would know if I played Cindy Laupers.
Are you what station are you listening to? And I say, man,
one of those jack Man.
Speaker 2 (57:08):
I don't believe.
Speaker 1 (57:08):
No, we played Ozzy, but I don't recall any Cindy Lauper.
Is it Tommy Chong? It was?
Speaker 9 (57:14):
I'm not making it up.
Speaker 1 (57:16):
Be honest. Are you smoking? Are you smoking reefer cigarettes
this morning? Well?
Speaker 11 (57:22):
Not right now?
Speaker 1 (57:25):
How can I take that? Seriously?
Speaker 2 (57:26):
You thought you heard Cindy like, come on weels?
Speaker 7 (57:29):
Hello?
Speaker 1 (57:30):
Who's this? All right? This is Corey.
Speaker 9 (57:33):
I didn't know.
Speaker 1 (57:33):
This is gonna sound stupid because you know what you played.
Speaker 9 (57:36):
They're saying that only because you played that.
Speaker 1 (57:39):
You said Ozzy, but then you played Cindy Lauper. That's
the only reason you played a long song. No, I'm
fairly certain we played Ozzy. The system was not Cindy
Lauper in there. Wheels Hello, go ahead, played Hey, What's up? Yeah?
They both have the time to Time song. Both of
them have that, Oh Sabbath and Ozzy.
Speaker 14 (58:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (58:01):
No, I'm the hippy Lauper.
Speaker 1 (58:03):
Dude. Well, I'm aware that Cindy Lapper has a song
called time after Time, but we wouldn't play Cindy Lapper's
version of that. That doesn't make sense. Different play lest you? No,
I no, I get that. No, I'm just saying that
both had that song.
Speaker 2 (58:15):
Oh, no, I get that, But I mean we wouldn't
play that.
Speaker 9 (58:18):
Wheels Hello, dude, I'm not drunk, I am not wasted.
Speaker 1 (58:25):
And you did play Sandy Lapper. I don't know why
you did. And I was questioning it myself.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
There's no way he did that. Where's no way we
did that.
Speaker 1 (58:33):
We'll get I was on the phone with my friend
and I said, why the hell are they playing Simmy
Lapper's on the wheels And he's like, I have no idea.
I called it out to him, dude, stairs.
Speaker 2 (58:43):
Okay, so you're not drunk. You're not high. Are you
having a.
Speaker 1 (58:45):
Stroke, I'm not. I don't smell toast. No, okay, that's
that's true. Now every time I smell toast, I'm gonna
think I'm having a stroke. I forgot all about that
until just now. It's burn toast.
Speaker 2 (58:55):
Yeah, good, not good toast. Burn toss was like toast.
Speaker 1 (58:59):
Am I having a breaking English from who's making english? Puffin?
Let's see, I'm thinking too wheels. Hello, good moment, sir, Hey,
what's up?
Speaker 3 (59:14):
Hey?
Speaker 1 (59:15):
I hope I'm not videotaped, but you are, the man, dude, you.
Speaker 13 (59:21):
You're right.
Speaker 11 (59:21):
People are burnt out.
Speaker 1 (59:23):
They're totally burnt out. Brother, That's what I'm trying.
Speaker 7 (59:25):
To tell you.
Speaker 1 (59:26):
Yaborn and oz Osborne did same time after time, exactly.
Thank you. Someone gets it. My god, I don't know.
People are tripping today, man.
Speaker 2 (59:36):
I think it's I think it's sinco de mayo.
Speaker 1 (59:38):
I think it brings out people that they're already hammered
eight seven seven nine eight eight one oh six seven
eight seven seven nine eight eight one oh six seven. Uh,
that is how you get involved someone on the textas
I'm gas lighting. People don't use the term gas light.
You know who uses the term gaslight? A holes, stop
using the term gas light. This isn't twitter. I'm gaslighting people. Look,
(59:59):
I'm aware that they're Cindy Lauper song called Time after Time?
Who does it? Cindy Lappers in the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame partner. I'm well aware of who Cindy
Lapper is. Don't question my knowledge, but this radio station
would not play Cindy Lapper's version of that song. First
of all, it's a different song, same name, different song.
Second of all, we're gonna play Ozzy. We play Ozzy.
So I don't know what you think you heard gas lighting.
(01:00:22):
I hate when people use that stupid term. That's such
a heart on gas lighter. Gas lighting.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
I heard my favorite politician say it once, so no,
I say it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
You're gaslighting me? All right? Anyway? H eight seven seven
nine eight eight one oh six seven eight seven seven
nine eight eight one oh six seven is the phone
number you can text the word Josh in your message
to five one eight eight one. Is this gas lighting?
Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
Got one thousand dollars you could win.
Speaker 1 (01:00:49):
Up for real? That's coming up just after nine o'clock.
You love a shot to one of American dollars thousand dollars,
and we're gonna do Fat Nostalgic again. Today's topic for
fat and nostalgic defunct restaurant chains. So we're gonna get
that in on that. Some rock and roll jeopardies will Yeah,
we'll get into all that. Stay there. If you missed
(01:01:11):
any of the Josh in his show, listen on demand

seven WLLZ detruit t Wheels. All right, well of six
point seven Detroit's Wheels Josh in the show. We will
have one thousand dollars for you just after nine o'clock.
But first we give you stained. This is so far
(01:01:33):
away to fu.
Speaker 7 (01:01:37):
Doesn't anybody stain.
Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
Anymore? Alright, I'm kidding, all right, here stare go God,
all right, you're happy now WLLZ all right, it's time
for fat and nostalgic.
Speaker 7 (01:01:57):
When the drums goods have to hit your fun, it's
best to.
Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
Make it tonight. There is a list of now defunct
chain restaurants that people miss. You tell me if you
know any of these. All right, yeah, Don Pablo's Yeah,
I used to eat there. Really, I've never heard of
Don Pablo. Yeah. I mean, I think there's only like
maybe one or two in the area, but we would
go there. I can't name.
Speaker 8 (01:02:41):
Anything specific off the many that was like unique that
I had to have, but used to do, you know,
little text mes joint all.
Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
Right, Burger Chef. Was there a Burger Chef around here?
I don't think so. I know Burger Chef. Beef Steak
Charlie's no, but I like the name of it, Beef
Steak Chara. I want to go to Beefsteak Charlie. Now,
if you guys want to get in on this eight
seven seven nine eight eight one oh six seven eight
seven seven nine eight eight one oh six seven, or
text the word Josh and your message to five one
eight eight one. Chee Cheese is on the list. Oh yeah,
(01:03:12):
and I don't che cheese. I have, but it's been
a while. Che Cheese was like the bomb Man, the
fried ice Cream.
Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
It filed for bankruptcy in two thousand and three.
Speaker 1 (01:03:20):
Yeah, Green Onions, I think took that whole restaurant chained down.
People got sick from the green onions. Well, here you go.
Later that same year, a hepatitis a outbreak tied to
a Pittsburgh location, which affected over six hundred people and
killed four. That's what killed che cheese hepatitis A. Let's
see how those hojo's. I do know hojos Howard Johnson's, Yeah,
(01:03:42):
that's on this list. Is it the same as like
the Howard Johnson's, Like, I think the hotel Motel they're connected.
Lone Star steakhout, Oh my god, some of the best fries. Yeah,
you get the fries with the cheese and the bacon.
I think that might be the first time I was
ever like, I'm I can't think of the word, but
(01:04:05):
the first time I've ever experienced like steak fries with
all the cheese and all the bacon. Loan. It was
the first place I was ever exposed to steak fries.
It was a Lone Star. Glorious was growing up in
Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Lone Star was the steakhouse we went
(01:04:25):
to most because literally right across the street was out Back,
and out Back was considered the fancier of the steakhouse
and the weight was longer, so we don't just go
to lone Star. Long Star I think had the peanuts
on the floor, Like I think you could throw peanuts
on the floor. At one point, a lot of these
places did that, so people started slipping on the peanuts.
The same damn places. The problem I got surprising that
(01:04:48):
any of them survive whenever. Logan's is the same as
Lone Star, which is the same Roadhouse, which is the
same as Outback, although my favorite Texas Roadhouse. I have
a candle at home that smells like the honey butter
from Texas Nostalgia. I've got candles that smell like honey
(01:05:10):
butter from Texas Roadhouse that is fat.
Speaker 2 (01:05:13):
I thank you?
Speaker 1 (01:05:14):
What else do we have here on this list? So
Lone Star doesn't exist anymore? Let's see Steak and Ale. Okay,
I've been there before, me too, Henry's Hamburgers. I don't
know where Henry's Hamburgers was, but it looks pretty lit.
But there's a that's a defunct one. Let's see here.
Who else do we have or what else? Champs Americana.
(01:05:35):
We had one of those in Baton Rouge. I had
a girl that I was into that was a waitress
at Champs Americana and she wore like she wore the
whole suit, you know, the referee uniform. I think they
wore I think they wore a referee shirt with like
black shorts and and we made out one time. That
was nice when she weared that workout fit. No, but boy,
(01:05:55):
that would have been great. But no she wasn't. That's nice.
Like in the middle, she blows the whistle too much tongue.
Cheeseburger in Paradise, which I'm going, yes it is Jimmy Buffett.
Speaker 8 (01:06:05):
Yeah, the Cubano sandwich. I used to get that all
the time. Cheeseburger in Paradise. All right, little mini sliders
over at Lakeside. We're trying to think what's there now?
Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
Well, what are some examples of places that are in
your mind defunct restaurant chains that you're like, oh, I
missed that, Like obviously we listed some of them. But
what sticks chee cheese? You always talk about che chese.
We'll just be sitting here in silence and you'll go, cheese,
chee cheese. The only thing that's left the che cheese
now is maybe the Prettia chips you can get at
the store. You know, it makes me sad. Now, it's
like on a day like today, we need chee cheese.
(01:06:36):
This song the whitest Holidayma Day in chee cheese history
be today, it would be, but unfortunately there is no
chea cheese because chee cheese is gone. All those green
onions killed them.
Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
Let's see here, wheels.
Speaker 1 (01:06:48):
Hello, what's going on? Fellers? What's up?
Speaker 3 (01:06:51):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
Hey? Listen?
Speaker 9 (01:06:53):
Those Star steak the first one I went to was
in Texas. They had huge garlic toast.
Speaker 1 (01:07:01):
Do you remember that? Oh God, yeah, dude. The Lone
Star was killer. I used to go there twice a
week when I was a kid. It was it was
fine dining for us.
Speaker 9 (01:07:09):
It was the freaking bomb and their stakes were big
and good too.
Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
No, I'm with you, brother, thank you. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
Lone Star ruled.
Speaker 1 (01:07:15):
Man. Still, I'll never forget those steak fries like the
cheese and bacon. We had a Lone Star right next
to the movie theater and Baton Rouge, so you'd go
to the movie theater.
Speaker 2 (01:07:24):
We had two locations, so we were big time in
bat Rouge.
Speaker 1 (01:07:27):
We had Dose Dose locasey owens of the Lone Star steakhows.
We also had three Hooters, but they all closed. I
think we had three, I know, but we had three.
I think per capita. We probably had the most Hooters
of any city in the country, and Baton Rouge because
we had three. Our population wasn't that high. We're like
(01:07:48):
market number eighty something. We had three Hooters. Calm down,
We've had like we had like three or four round here.
But that's all I'm saying per capita, James, this was
a giant or is a giant city. Baton Rouge, Louisiana
is not, so we would have three Hooters. I mean,
it's one thing to happen f to enough women to
staff that many hooters. Honestly, no, that's a lot of Hooters.
(01:08:09):
I celebrated my ninth birthday at Hooters there, lucky guys.
I know, there's a picture somewhere of me with all
these colors surrounding me, and I had a pair of
overall shorts on, like a fimble and a football jersey
under the overall shorts and it was awful nice. But yeah,
that was back when, like you and it's still like this,
even though there aren't a ton of Hooters anymore. But
(01:08:30):
if like your dad took you to Hooters, it was
always controversial, like your mom would be like, oh my god,
you took them to Hooters. It's chicks and short shorts.
These kids today now they watch porn during class on
their phone. You're going to Hooters is nothing. I might
as well be chucking at wearing.
Speaker 8 (01:08:42):
Like tights, like you're not et seeing any skin. You're
just maybe looking at, you know, some nice legs.
Speaker 1 (01:08:47):
It should be more legs, dude, dude, there's something about
the Hooters' legs that are great because it's the color
of the tights and the orange and the white top.
The kids today, I'll never understand how horn doubt you'd
get going to Hooters because now it's like I'm watching
hardcore porn on my phone during trigonometry.
Speaker 8 (01:09:05):
And it was the coolest winter Hooters, and I bought
like a deck of playing cards with just the Hooters babes.
Speaker 1 (01:09:11):
Yeah, oh, Queen of Hearts, your boy, I miss it.
Speaker 2 (01:09:14):
I do because it was a simpler time. I guess
that's one we can say we miss.
Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
Like, I'm all about the you know, the what's the
one with the gals that wear the flannel shirts twin.
Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
Peaks and twin peaks is good?
Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
Oh yeah, but nothing can ever caption the tro capture
the trashiness and the beauty and the disgustiness and the
amazingness O the og and the fries. Dude, when the
curly fries were popping over at Hooters before it costs
like seven dollars to get an order of fries there
and they had that fry season, Ain't god, Hooters was
great and like again, there's something so hot about the tights.
(01:09:49):
I mean, they knew what they were doing obviously, but
the tights that they just make the legs look great.
You know, I don't need hard core erotica to make
me happy. I need nineteen ninety nine Hooters again. Give
me nineteen ninety nine Hooters had me sitting in the middle.
On one side as Tiger Woods. On the other side
is John Day Adam Hooters nineteen ninety nine, giant mug
(01:10:10):
of beer, a little weird like little wooden basket or
bowl they have for the fries.
Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
That's what I want, man. Anyway, that was fat and nostalgia.
Speaker 7 (01:10:21):
When the clust.
Speaker 1 (01:10:23):
Half the time to head full. It's a good.
Speaker 7 (01:10:35):
Bait, take dinner.
Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
It's back tonight.
Speaker 7 (01:10:45):
Come on, they get back tonight.
Speaker 15 (01:10:49):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:10:50):
One o six point seven Detroit's wheels. As part of
Fat and Nostalgic, we go to the phones. Hello, tell
me someplace you missed to eat or eating?
Speaker 9 (01:10:58):
Bye Bonanza.
Speaker 1 (01:11:01):
So dude, here's the thing about Ponderosa and Bonanza. So
when I was a kid, I thought Ponderosa was the right,
like I thought it was everything. So then about ten
years ago, I'm in Orlando going to Disney and I
see that there's a pond Rosa. I'm like, we gotta
go to Pondurosa's Ponderosa.
Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
It's Bonanza. It's all right.
Speaker 1 (01:11:19):
So I go in and I find out that the
food is quite possibly the worst food that has ever been. Yes,
I agree, it is awful. But when you were a kid,
you'd go through the line and they had like the
metal plates with the wood kind of around the metal plate,
and you'd kind of go through the line. There, God,
I miss that, and the ice cream, the desserts, the buffet,
all of it. It's one of those things you did.
(01:11:42):
But then the problem is now as an adult you
look back on it, you think so highly of it,
kind of like you thought a Blockbuster now if you
were to walk into a Blockbuster now, which don't exist,
but if you did, you'd be like, well, this is
kind of archaic and not all that great. It's the
same thing with Ponderosa. When I walked in there, you
know what I mean, Ye say thank you, appreciate you.
So yeah, pinder Rose is like the black Puss of steakhouses,
(01:12:03):
and it is it really is. You missed though, Yeah,
me too, But if you need it now you think
it's gross.
Speaker 12 (01:12:09):
I'm looking at that T shirt, the Josh Innis Show
WLLZ opening day t shirt JV Trek Fromber and WLLZ
like it's almost like this is a final destination thing.
Speaker 1 (01:12:20):
It's like Death's List. It's just crossing people off Fromber's
next and then you know the old station.
Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
Well it's gone in order, right JV.
Speaker 1 (01:12:29):
Yeah, then Trek so Fromber will be the next to go,
and then we'll be playing Mexican music if I have
my way. Yeah, we've been playing Mexicans the Fromber. We
better start looking for a gig or we better learn Spanish.
Josh Show six point seven, w LLZ Detroit's Wheels. We've
got Bush, We've got.
Speaker 10 (01:12:50):
Bush happy, think God to my Mexican Americans don't like
to just get into gang fights.
Speaker 5 (01:13:05):
They like flowers and music and white girls named Debby too.
Speaker 6 (01:13:13):
Mexican Americans are name Chata Cella Gemma and have a
son in law named Jeff.
Speaker 5 (01:13:23):
Mexican Americans don't.
Speaker 7 (01:13:25):
Like to get up early in the morning, but they
have to, so they do it real slow.
Speaker 5 (01:13:34):
Mexican Americans love educations, so they go to night school
and they take Spanish and get a bead. Mexican Americans
love their nanas and their no nos and their ninas
and their ninos.
Speaker 1 (01:13:53):
Now, no, no, Nina, no no.
Speaker 5 (01:13:57):
Mexican Americans don't like to go the movies where the
two has to wear contact glances to make his blue
eyes brown my brown eyes blue.
Speaker 7 (01:14:10):
And that's all I got.
Speaker 14 (01:14:12):
There.
Speaker 1 (01:14:12):

offended by the gentleman who called bitching about me not
liking sting. Look, and then he takes a shot at
seven Mary three, which, hey, whatever, but don't come on

think you're gonna live to tell about it radio wise.
Not literally, That's why I hung up, But not literally,
but he heated, he got Yeah, just don't come at
me with a positive thing about sting. Thank you, dudeing
the wrestler, Yeah, you can do that. But if it
comes to the sting the singer, do do doo doo
(01:15:08):

come up with other horrible sting puns just to piss
you off. Anyway.

monster truck drivers. Okay, special smashes driven by a lady.
They don't drive Grave Digger, they drive gold Digger. It's
actually walk a walk up, good walk walk up. It
(01:27:39):
was a joe, not great, but it was okay. But anyway,
so the story is out of Colombia. They don't celebrate
Sinco Demyo and Colombia because they're not in Mexico. They
are Hispanic, right but not but not Mexican correct. And
it has nothing to do with so this is not
their day today, This is not your day today, Colombians.
Let us white people have Cinco de mayo and eat
(01:28:01):
our chips and salsa. There has nothing to do with
them in the fringe. So that said, this lady truck
driver heroic. She's out there, she drives the she drives
the monster truck. She's like, I'm a lady monster truck
driver and you can't tell me that I can't do it.
Speaker 9 (01:28:14):
Dad.
Speaker 1 (01:28:16):
Well, as she's monster truck driving, as you are wonting
to do when you monster truck drive, I know, crushing cars,
whatever you do in a monster truck probably listening to
I'm No Angel by Greg Almon, really feeling good about
her savy. That helps her crush the cars more. And
then what ends up happening is she loses control of
(01:28:36):
the car, the truck as it were, the monster truck,
and the truck is then driven into a crowd of people,
and those people, bless their hearts, some of them end
up dying. Yes, so you died for sure, couple did.
Many injured. Now, I'm not going to blame the lady
driver because that would be sexist. What I'm going to
(01:28:59):
do is blame the people decided it was in their
best interest to stand basically right where the monster truck's monster. True,
this is Columbia, man, there's no rules on safety. You
can as post those monster trucks as you want. That's
the outbacks done part of the experience in Colombia. I
would assume there's some rules, like, hey, sit in the
bleachers instead of you know, standing in the dirt when
someone's on a monster truck. Yeah, you can see video
(01:29:20):
of the incident posted on our Facebook page. Because we
like smut films, you can see stuff. We're like snuff
and smuts. We have clips of the accident and we
have clips of the aftermath. So there are some dead people?
Are there dead people in the video? I don't think
you see the dead people, but we're to assume they're dead.
But just no going into it, and you're going to
see some pretty violent monster truck actions. Well, it's like this.
(01:29:43):
There's a very famous video of Vic Morrow and those
kids getting decapitated while filming the Twilight Zone movie.
Speaker 2 (01:29:50):
You know that story.
Speaker 1 (01:29:50):
You're seeing that video. I've not seen the video, but
over they got legitimately decapitated by the propeller of a helicopter.
And while you don't see their heads getting cut off,
you know that they've been chopped in half because a
propeller from a helicopter took them out. You know, that's
kind of what this video is. You know that someone
got taken out by this monster truck. But look, I
(01:30:11):
think the real story is that we have lady monster
truck drivers now, and that just shows progress because I
couldn't drive a monster truck. If I try to drive
a monster truck, I'd probably end up in the crowd.
Would it killed more people? Exactly? Ladies can do stuff now.
Ladies can do stuff now, you know. To be fair,
they are not to deal with it. They are saying
that they think it's a possible mechanical failure, something to
(01:30:31):
do with the break. Well, that's they're doing that to
the fendale lady because it'll be sexist to say the
lady can't drive and she killed people, So they're gonna
blame the car. But they're doing the best darned Colombian
investigation that they can. I don't know what actually happened.
Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
Sure that's on the up and up. Yep, no funny business.
Speaker 1 (01:30:46):
If I were like you, hear stories about baseball players
that get out of these these kind of third worldish
countries that get to the majors and make hundreds of
millions of dollars if they can't keep themselves from going
back to their home.
Speaker 2 (01:30:56):
Country to like see their family or whatever.
Speaker 8 (01:30:58):
Right, well, plus another lake beyond the millionaires, and they're
like the uber Ridge.
Speaker 1 (01:31:03):
But that's why they should never go back. Like you
hear stories about these dudes that play like and they're
from Columbia or the Dominican You never hear good things
happening when they go back. Like Octavio Dotel, who pitched
for more teams I think than any player ever, like
twelve or thirteen teams, maybe more a believer, he goes
back to wherever his home countries. I think he's I
(01:31:24):
want to say he's from the Dominican Republic. Octavio Dotel
goes back to his home country whatever dies in a
situation where a second floor of a nightclub collapses on
top of the people on the bottom and dies. There's
a guy named Oscar Taveras, and I think he might
be from the Dominican as well.
Speaker 2 (01:31:44):
At Puerto Rico.
Speaker 1 (01:31:45):
This dude got hammered, mind you, but he went back
to his home country and got hammered, like drove off
a cliff. Cheesh. Well, the streets are notoriously bad in
these places too, Like the roads are not good, you know.
I mean, it's kind of like is that movie with
Johnny Depp when he was playing Bennie in.
Speaker 2 (01:32:00):
June Benny and June. The Nick of Time, No, that
nick of Time.
Speaker 1 (01:32:06):
He's one of those shock a lot, No continue on me.
There the the the Curse of the Black Pearl. Nothing
new with pilots, gotcha. So there's another guy by the
name of Big Poppy. Perhaps you've heard of him, Big
Pop Poppy. He got He's my favorite guy to watch
on the Hub.
Speaker 2 (01:32:23):
Different Big Poppy.
Speaker 1 (01:32:25):
But Big Poppy got shot at like in a nightclub
in like, oh yeah, he almost died in his home country.
That's what happens to these guys. You should never go
back to these places like the I think going back
and like flaunting on the money they have and are
going back to see their family like they feel like
they should. I guess you know, bad things happened. The
infrastructure in these place is terrible. The roads are bad.
(01:32:47):
There's a whole bunch that's bad. Then you probably got
jealous people that want to take you out because you
made it, grew up the government. And apparently you got
lady monster truck drivers who are great, but the truck
socks obviously clearly because ladies can do stuff now, and
you're gonna have to learn how to deal with that exactly.
Some poor mechanics is probably gonna be decapitated now probably.
Oh that I guarantee you. I've been in Colombia. They
(01:33:08):
still have that kind of punishment. Look that up really quick,
google that. What kind of death penalty? Like what is
the death penalty in Colombia? Like do they behead people?
Do they hang people? I'm genuinely curious, like what is
the if or do they even have the death penal?
Firing squad? It feels like a firing.
Speaker 8 (01:33:23):
There is no death penalty in Columbia, says capital punishment
was abolished in the nineteen ten constitution and the nineteen constitution.
Speaker 1 (01:33:32):
They just make you drive the roads of Columbia. If
you make it back, then you win. It's like playing Frogger.
You get to play human Froger. You get to try
to cross the street in Colombia and if you make it,
hey you got away with murder.
Speaker 8 (01:33:43):
So now, while with capital punishment has been abolished, they
have decriminalized active euthanasia for germanly ill patients.
Speaker 1 (01:33:53):
So oh you can at least, you know, oh that's fun,
you know. So it's like, you're like, if you just
want you just come in and bey. I want to die,
And they're like, you got it.
Speaker 8 (01:34:02):
Well, I think you have to be terriminally ill. So,
I mean, I get that doctor Kavorkian could have been
a you know, huge over there.
Speaker 1 (01:34:09):
Oh I bet he was. I bet they were longing
to have him there. They're like, please come to our town. Like, no,
I can't make it. I'm busy in America. The roads
are safer here for me to drive to euthanize humans.
I don't want to risk my own life. Yeah, do
you think I want to run the risk of getting
run over by a lady monster truck driver? Come on, now,
(01:34:30):
that's what he should tell what you should do. Go
to the monster truck rally, go to monster Jam and
I look, sit in the foot monster Jam.
Speaker 2 (01:34:38):
This is Columbia's monster trucks.
Speaker 1 (01:34:40):
And they say, is there a lady driving? Like yeah,
oh you're good, you're good. So just go get as
close to the barricade as you can. You'll thank me
at the pearly gates. You'll thank me. You will.
Speaker 2 (01:34:49):
And I don't have your blood on my hands.
Speaker 1 (01:34:51):
So there you go. But anyway, that video is on
our Facebook page. You can go check that out.
Speaker 3 (01:34:56):
And this is.
Speaker 1 (01:35:01):
Kiss without make up. There you go, that is look
it up my kiss. He's James, I'm Josh, and I'm
the Foreign Bodies and Tarek Schooble's elbow Get out of here.
Foreign Bodies formerly of Trek Schooble's elbow, get out of here.
Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
I wonder if he's gotten out of it. Do they
do the surgery yet?
Speaker 1 (01:35:19):
I don't know. I mean, you got to get it
done fast, so you know, you can't run the risk
of losing the hundreds of millions of dollars, so you
gotta get that done asap. When I heard that, all
I could think about is all those dumb lines from
his agent a couple months ago, like it should be
Scooby done right?
Speaker 2 (01:35:34):
What about his season though?
Speaker 1 (01:35:36):
It should be Scooby done right? I'm sure sounds like it.
Speaker 2 (01:35:39):
What about this one?
Speaker 1 (01:35:40):
Pal certainly think it's a Detroit joint. If they don't, yeah,
well they gotta get the surgery done.
Speaker 14 (01:35:46):
Of course, little Caesar's running around town saying sy side.
Speaker 1 (01:35:50):
Oh yeah, something like that. I'll sink with the whole.
I forget that there was a full version of this.
Speaker 14 (01:35:56):
All we know is that the look, the fans in
Detroit want the Tigers to build a Terrek Barrick.
Speaker 1 (01:36:04):
Yeah, the Barrick. Uh you know who lived in that
Terrek Barrick and now they're being evicted from their Terrek
Barrick's closed.
Speaker 14 (01:36:15):
Little Caesar's running around town saying syside.
Speaker 1 (01:36:18):
So it's uh, it's it's the kind of thing where
he's just think this agent is worth a billion dollars
and he's doing with little little things like hey, si side.
Speaker 14 (01:36:27):
He's built a base. Obviously, everywhere they go, they know
it's Schoobale Day.
Speaker 2 (01:36:33):
Well not anymore, sadly, it's no.
Speaker 1 (01:36:35):
The only place that it's Schoobale Day now is at
the hospital where the surgery will be performed. Probably some
out his package. Probably he's thick. He's he's got a
thick base. I mean that's where he generates all that power. Okay, yeah,
it's all that that base. He's all about the base.
No trouble.
Speaker 14 (01:36:56):
They understand that that uh, that organization is substantially different
if he's not there.
Speaker 1 (01:37:05):
And well now we get to find out. So anyway,
I wonder how this is going to impact him because
obviously he's not going to be an asset at the
deadline for the Tigers, now what you would think. So
he's not an asset, So I mean they're going to
have to ride with him the rest of the year,
which I think was their plan anyway. I think they
planned on being in contention and having him as part
(01:37:27):
of the rotation the whole season. So that's not like
a shocking development there, But like, what does this do
for him going into his off season where he's trying
to make five hundred million dollars, Like somebody's got so
much money, they'll just give it to him. But like
a team like the Tigers, who.
Speaker 2 (01:37:43):
Were never in it any way, they could never do that.
Speaker 1 (01:37:45):
Like a team like the Tigers or any market team
couldn't run the risk of paying him unless you get
him for cheaper now because he's damaged goods. Keep in mind,
dudes had one cy Young. He had not a cy
Young but Tommy John surgery when he was in college,
and he's our. He had like multiple other surgeries, including
this one. And what if this leads to him needing
a Tommy John. If he needs Tommy John, I was
(01:38:07):
reading some story, then it could be three to six
months if he needs Tommy John from this. So I
thought that was taking the whole season.
Speaker 2 (01:38:14):
Well that's the thing.
Speaker 1 (01:38:15):
If it was, he would be But they're they're hoping
that they're able to get something out of this. It's
only two to three months. If it's Tommy John, he's
out for a long time, which it will impact the
money he's gonna get on the market.
Speaker 2 (01:38:24):
I would imagine there's a lot of factors in that.
So all that said, does any of.
Speaker 1 (01:38:30):
This play into like the arbitration decision or is that
that decision that's done. Yeah, that's done. It doesn't matter. No, No,
he's got that cash, so it doesn't impact anything. But uh,
there you go. So it's now Fromber and the Pips,
so you get you go from Verlander and Tarrek Scooble
and Fromber too. Hey guys, it's Jack Flaherty day, Romber
(01:38:50):
and the bedrm and Mize is hurt too. So boy
had a mess. But at least you got the Pistons today.
So there's that.
Speaker 2 (01:38:57):
All right, We gotta go.
Speaker 1 (01:38:58):
Laura is up next. She's gonna tell you about rock
and roll and the Wines of Ohio. We will see
you tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:39:04):
