Speaker 3 (00:33):
Cowboys Nation?
Speaker 4 (00:33):
Welcome in the Girls Dog Boys Talk, presented by invisil
Line in the SWBC studio. I'm Nicole Hutchison alongside Breonna Aldrich.
Speaker 5 (00:40):
And we got Christie skills.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Ladies.
Speaker 6 (00:42):
It's almost too I get it's a game tomorrow. I
keep saying that because what.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
Yeah, I know Thanksgiving. I heard Christy was over here
telling us she got the whole family coming over. That
means she got some good food over there.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Yes, Luckily Becaus and his family can cook.
Speaker 7 (00:58):
Cause I've I've worked every gosh thirties this thirty five
years of working Thanksgiving Day games, so I've never had
to cook a turkey.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
It's my favorite holiday this life.
Speaker 6 (01:10):
I was just telling someone yesterday when I was interviewing
for the job, somebody, one of the questions is what
do you do on Thanksgiving? And I was like, what, oh,
this is my fifth So I was like, what is
that a trick question? And then they're like, because if
you work for the Cowboys, this is what you'll be
doing every Thanksgiving, your Thanksgiving.
Speaker 8 (01:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:29):
The thing about the Joneses is and legends hospitality. George
Wissai and his crew at at and T Stadium, man,
they spare no expense. They put a great spread on
and so not only is Thanksgiving fair available for all
the guests, right all the fans coming to watch the game.
They'll be over ninety through outs ninety three thousand people
(01:51):
at the game tomorrow, but even the media and staff
we get to eat the Thanksgiving food, so we appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
I'm glad I've been working out because I'm doubling up
bringing some food and then of course and my boyfriend's
families bring some food then on.
Speaker 6 (02:05):
Top of the bag and to eat at the stadium. Yes, well, Belly,
it's gonna be great.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
It's gonna be great. Well, we got some good news,
well not some good news. We've got a practice report
to go through, Christy, which you got some big standout
names that stand out.
Speaker 9 (02:19):
To Yeah, well, the official designations will take place this
afternoon as to who's out, doubtful, questionable, et cetera. But
Tyler Goyton again not able to practice with the high
right ankle sprain and the fact that he was on
one of those little scooters doesn't bode very well. So
Nate Thomas obviously has been taking the first team reps
(02:40):
on offense at left tackle in place of Guidon, and
then George Picken, who was a D and P did
not practice on Monday, was limited yesterday, so that's a
little bit better with the knee and the calf. Cavante
Turpin we saw him in the locker room yesterday and
had big ol' ice pack on his left shoulder, so
(03:03):
he didn't practice Monday, but officially listed as limited yesterday Tuesday,
and then on offense a couple more guys. Hunter Lipke
has a sore hip he has been able to practice
this week, and Tyler Smith with the knee tendon not
as he has been able to practice. On defense. The
issue is OsO Diggi Zua, who was unable to practice
(03:26):
Monday with the elbow injury. Limited yesterday, as was Kitlin
Carson with a hamstring. So remember that he missed most
of the second half of the game Sunday, the win
over the Eagles, dehydrated and cramping up, but he's shown.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Up on the practice report with a hamstring.
Speaker 9 (03:44):
I suspected that it was something more than just cramping
the way that he tried to go. He went back
in the game for just a play or two and
then came back out. So Carson lands on the list
with a hamstring. Malik Hooker limited this week with a
toe injury, but he's been limited the past couple of weeks,
even though he's come back to play off of ir
(04:05):
Deron Bland good news is full practice with the wrist injury.
He heard that in the game on Sunday, but was
able to re enter the game. Donovan Wilson limited, he's
dealing with elbow and shoulder injury. Solomon Thomas good news full,
but we're going to see about to Daveon Clowney. He's
(04:27):
been limited the past few weeks with shoulder and neck injury.
Limited again this week. James Houston wrist and a knee.
He's been able to practice. We'll see about Dante Fowler
shoulder injury limited, and then Perry On Winfrey. Interesting to
see if there'll be availability to get him up on
the active roster off ir clear with the back injury,
(04:51):
but just hadn't had space on the active game day roster.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
I got a chance to talk to Caylin yesterday when
he was like leaving locker room, and he had said
that he should be fine to play against the Chiefs.
I think even Shoddy mentioned a little bit he was
just dealing with some like dehydration and some slight cramps
a little bit, but he was just taking the right
precautions to make sure he.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
Is good for a Thursday's game. So good sign there.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
But who concerns you the most when you're heading into
this Chiefs matchup the most?
Speaker 9 (05:20):
Yeah, well, Guiton obviously, just because you know Nate Thomas
has done well coming in, but a young player, not
a lot of experience. And the thing about Steve Spagnolo,
who's the defensive.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Coordinator for the Chiefs.
Speaker 9 (05:33):
And we'll get into this a little bit more later on,
but man blitz is early and often and lots of Yeah,
I think communication is a really key issue here, just
because they a lot of disguise and scheming up and
things like that. Will get more into more detail in
a bit, but you know, hey, when you're out your
(05:55):
top left tackle, that's obviously a big issue. And then Osa,
I mean, he's he's a dude. He'll play hurt, but
you know he had to play of the game, arguably
in the fourth quarter with that sack, I would say,
in the win over Philly, So you know, hopefully he'll
be okay. And it looks like Solomon Thomas will be
able to play this week, So having him in on
(06:17):
that to a five man front or just a part
of the regular defensive line rotation, I think will be
really key.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
So that's good news.
Speaker 10 (06:23):
On that front.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
Yeah, who concerns you?
Speaker 6 (06:26):
I mean, same thing the man not practicing all week,
Tyler guy and I think we talk about Nate Thomas
being able to go in and really play tackle on
either side and has been you know, serviceable for the
most heart and has those mistakes that you see that
you would expect from someone who doesn't have the reps.
So he needs the reps. Do you want to see
him being getting his reps in against the Chiefs in
(06:49):
the game that's considered a must win. It's not the
best feeling and we're going to talk about it later.
But obviously they got some dudes up front on the
other side, so that's going to be something that's gonna.
Speaker 10 (07:03):
Be a challenge if you will.
Speaker 6 (07:04):
But to me, I had a little bit of a
I felt like it got lighter on the media side
because George Pickens, who didn't practice on Monday.
Speaker 10 (07:14):
They were asked about it, asked Shoddy if he.
Speaker 6 (07:16):
Was gonna practice, and he said, yeah, he'll be out there,
and we started practice.
Speaker 11 (07:20):
He wasn't out there, and everybody was like, where's George Pickens?
Speaker 6 (07:22):
And when he came out jogging out, he got his
treatment while the guy stretched and then he came out
and joined them, and I think everyone was just kind
of like like that was thata. So that was probably
the relief there. But I think when on both sides
of the ball, I was really paying attention, not taking
away from anybody else out There's a long list, but
everyone's kind of banged up at this side, even when
(07:43):
we're gonna be talking about what the Chiefs that's going
on on their injury report. But George Pickens on offense
was obviously one that I was like, how how is
this lingering? And then also Osa as well, both those
guys back out there. Like Christy said, I thought was
a positive thing. It's such a short week, so it's
kind of hard. This is not like the average injury
report that we used.
Speaker 10 (08:03):
To when they're like cleared by you know, Thursday.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
They really got tomorrow and see how they feel and
see when there could be game time decisions for a
lot of these guys. Yeah.
Speaker 9 (08:12):
As for the Yeah, as for the Chiefs, you know,
the good news is they're they're very optimistic that Isaiah Pacheco.
They're you know, really catalytic, so running back, I'll be
back because he's been out since week eight with.
Speaker 10 (08:27):
We talked about him yester year.
Speaker 6 (08:28):
Yeah, that surprised me and I think a lot of
the writers because I was saying, like it's possibility, it's
not completely ruled out, but I would be shocked if
he went out there, just because of the type of injury,
the short week, and then what they've been getting out
of Kareem Hunt, and plus they had an extra elevation
with Clyde Edwards d Lair running back. They had let
go brought back who's been again serviceable for what they
(08:51):
have and knowing this long stretch, they got a tough
schedule too after they faced the Cowboys very important games
where they sit in the AFC right now, So I
was I'm still surprises going out there would be interesting
to see his the reps he gets.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (09:04):
Yeah, He's been listed as full participant this week, so
it bodes well. Of course, I know it's been discussed
already this week, but just to reiterate for those who
are just tuning in today, their right guard to Trey Smith,
probably gonna miss the game. He's got the high end,
low angle spring.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
I mean, oh okay, it sounds bad.
Speaker 9 (09:24):
And then they're tied end Noah Gray. I know that
Travis Kelce gets all the attention and he should, but
Noah Gray is one of those key players for them
as well, a real role guy and a good player.
He suffered a concussion Sunday against the Colts, so I
Tray Smith and Noah Gray are their biggest injury concerns.
Speaker 5 (09:43):
Let's get into this Chiefs matchup.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
We stuck with offense yesterday, but let's let's talk about
this Chiefs defense. But when you, of course, think about
this Cowboys offense right now, five to five and one,
where's his offense strongest right now? And where do you
feel like the Kansas City Chiefs will attack first.
Speaker 6 (10:01):
Well, well, like, okay, sorry, you know, I think the
biggest thing for me that stands out against this Chief scene.
Obviously we know the offense has been a little weary,
if you will, when you're talking about the chief standards,
and we talked about it yesterday, how their luck has
kind of changed since last year, getting those pushing out
those last final seconds, minutes, what have you. They're they're
(10:25):
not getting They're getting the shorter and the stick for
for whatever reason when it comes to execution on offense.
But defense has been the reason why they're even in
these games for as long as they have. But the
thing that stands out to me the most if you
look at their schedule who they face. They've they faced
some some big names running backs and running backs have
not had days on this Chiefs defense. And Brian Sean
I Ever talked about it yesterday about if he kind
(10:47):
of he kind of like joked, he's like I think
the He's like, I'm not a big a big stats guy,
but if you look at all their you know, metrics,
they're in the top and almost like every category defensively
for a reason. And but I think for them, they
have the ability to make a lot of offenses one dimensional.
You saw that going against the number one offense last
week against the Colts. Jonathan Taylor, one of these top
(11:09):
running backs in the league, was kind of quiet, like
they did that to him, and then it forced them
to really have to force their passing game and it
just wasn't clicking. And then how many three and outs
did they get?
Speaker 5 (11:24):
Ten? You're talking about the Colts? Did they only had ten?
Speaker 6 (11:26):
Well, it was like it was like ten the Colts
only needed, like I think they got I think they
got like seven three.
Speaker 10 (11:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (11:33):
Yeah, it was like a crazy stat head on your
ten first. So, I mean that's what stands out to me, Christy.
I don't know what they're able to do. Well, we're
talking about stopping the run.
Speaker 9 (11:41):
And well, yeah, start exactly right what they did against
Jonathan Taylor. And I saw this stat and absolutely blew
me away because Taylor of the Colts, I mean, the
best running back in the league this year statistically, and
I mean, so the Chiefs defense against it' MVP candidate
Jonathan Taylor hit him behind the line of scrimmage on
(12:05):
sixty two percent of his runs.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
I mean that is crazy.
Speaker 9 (12:10):
Hit him behind the line of scrimmage on sixty two
percent of his runs. So yeah, they're a overall ranked.
The Chiefs are number eight in run defense, but what
they've done lately has just been amazing. And so the
strength recently is their run defense. And to Nicole's original
question of what the Cowboys have done well recently, well,
(12:33):
these big plays a lot of it. In the passing game,
it's play action pass that is such a strength for
this team. Dak's passer rating on play action passes is
one hundred and forty three point four. That's insane, and
so that's a strength. What's a play action pass? A
play action pass is when the quarterback takes the snap,
(12:54):
fakes a hand off, running back carries it, you know,
fakes like he's running the ball, but Dak keeps it
and then throws the pass.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Well, why do you do that? When you fake the.
Speaker 9 (13:05):
Handoff, the linebackers and the defensive lineman for just a
second hold up because is it handoff or not? And
then when they see that Dak still has the ball,
then they resume their pass rush. It also freezes the
like the linebackers or anybody that's dropping back in coverage
for just a second. They just kind of have to hesitate.
(13:26):
It's like do we go get the runner or do
we keep dropping back in pass coverage. So that's why
you do a play action pass. And the Cowboys have
done it very effectively. So here's the issue. If the
Chiefs defense is good against the run, which they have been,
and they just shut down Jonathan Taylor and the Cowboys
can't establish a run game, which they've been able to
(13:49):
do all year with Avonte Williams, then that's going to
take away that play action because you have to have
the defense respect your run game, and if they don't,
that's what makes it tough.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
In the past game, Well, this is where you also
the yards after catch come into play. With a guy
like Javonte Williams, who hs third amongst running backs in
yards after contact with seven hundred and nineteen of his rushing.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Yards so far.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
But I mean even with guys like George Pickens like
who also is top ten in YAK as well amongst receivers,
that's going to be crucial against this Chiefs defense. But
you know, you made a good Both ladies made a
good point about the numbers.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
Really don't tell the story.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
And I was joking with Nate Newton yesterday about it
because he was watching film all was trying to like
get my footage through my package, and he was like, man,
you can look at these numbers and get food all
you want to, but like that does not tell the
full story. What's an advantage that you feel the Cowboys
have right now? If they have one, I think they
have a lot more weapons offensively.
Speaker 6 (14:51):
We talked about that right after the game. How I
mean just talking about Revin s van Ford getting his
first career touchdown. What Jake Ferguson he had so many
cancers where he was very much near the goal line.
Because setting up this team, it's not just two star
wide receivers. And even though I know we'll talk about
(15:12):
it because it was kind of the theme of the
locker room about the drops seed. He had the uncharacteristic game,
if you will, Seedy Lamb was taken out or took
himself out, I should say, and you still had a
number of guy.
Speaker 10 (15:25):
You could go to.
Speaker 6 (15:26):
Obviously George Pickens leading the way, but they even the
week before, found how to get Lipkey more involved. Turpin
had a He's been very quiet, and it was so funny.
We were just like we were getting off the turpin train.
And then he had that big catch in the game
that kind of spiced things up there and got some momentum,
like there's a lot of more reliable weapons. And I
(15:47):
know we didn't really get into the Chiefs like detailed
in their injury report, but from my understanding from the
writers on outside and Chiefs Radio, the only really true
healthy receivers with Brown right now, and I think that
says a lot. There's a Xavier Worthy, little speedster guy.
We talked about him being explosive yesterday. He's someone who's
(16:08):
been dealing with the.
Speaker 10 (16:10):
Ankle lingering injury.
Speaker 6 (16:12):
Roshie Rice another guy they're number one, if you will,
with who they have right now in that unit.
Speaker 10 (16:18):
He's also dealing with a lingering injury.
Speaker 6 (16:20):
And Patrick Patrick Mahomes has a groin I believe from
last game that people saw on the broadcast that was
starting to affect him a little bit.
Speaker 10 (16:30):
He can play through anything.
Speaker 6 (16:31):
I think, I don't know, a year or two ago,
he had like an ankle injury that was clearly bothering
him and he played through it as well.
Speaker 10 (16:37):
So not saying he won't be out there.
Speaker 6 (16:38):
But that's a big deal when your quarterback's dealing with
a lingering issue and it's a short week.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
Yes, so all right, well we're going to take our

Throws for three hundred plus yards against the Chief secondary.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
Wow, I'm starting off the top.
Speaker 6 (20:29):
And now, you know what's so funny is that I
just off the break. I told you guys about a
mentalist who came to CBS and we had to all
pull numbers. It's not airing until tomorrow, but the mentalist
says three one hundred and ten yards, So I have
to hit bullsye.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
I for sure. Then, I mean, well, because that's mental
all right.
Speaker 9 (20:54):
No, no, oh my god, I mean they they allow
less than two hundred passing yards a game.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
But you know, I'm gonna go Bullseye Thanksgiving.
Speaker 11 (21:05):
Yeah, I'm gonna feel like a playoff atmosphere.
Speaker 6 (21:09):
I'm built and like just being in that locker room yesterday, like.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
There's a good energy.
Speaker 9 (21:14):
It's a and CD is tired of the questions about drops.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
I think he's gonna.
Speaker 6 (21:20):
He doesn't stay down, doesn't stay down for long when
he's like smirking and at you know, the questions and
you know, like you know, you had a bad game,
and that's what he said. But he was just like,
I think I'll be okay. Like I was like, yeah,
he's about to do some damage. That's just the type
of player he is. He wants this, and I think
he's gonna take the Thanksgiving stage to make everyone quiet.
Speaker 9 (21:44):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's the thing. They You know, Spagnola
likes to blitz. He disguises it, but if you can
catch him, there's some big plays to be had.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
So I'm gonna go bull side.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Talk about bulls. Big plays springs me to my next one.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
Bullseye or.
Speaker 10 (22:00):
Ceedee.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Lamb leads the game in receiving yards both sides, both sides, Yes, bullseye.
Speaker 10 (22:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (22:11):
Pickens may have something to say about that, or Hollywood Brown.
Speaker 11 (22:16):
Oh goodness, I hope not on that.
Speaker 10 (22:19):
I still feel like GP is gonna have.
Speaker 6 (22:25):
The games that when you're talking about receiving yards, but
I feel like CD's gonna be finding that end zone.
But I'm gonna go bust just because I do think
GP is kind of that guy.
Speaker 8 (22:38):
Right now.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Okay, let Nicole's a tiebreaker.
Speaker 5 (22:40):
I'm going bullseye.
Speaker 10 (22:41):
Okay, Okay, that's fair.
Speaker 4 (22:43):
He leads both sides, okay, in receiving yards and receptions. Okay, boom,
all right, Bullseye or bust. Dallas runs for one hundred
and twenty five yards.
Speaker 10 (22:54):
I got a bus. We just talked about how good
this run defense.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
Sorry I laughed, my bad. Okay, what do y'all think
of the number will be? I say, like ninety five.
Speaker 6 (23:04):
I think it will be under one hundred, and it's
gonna be a big test. I mean, that's probably gonna
be one of my key players is to see what
Javonte's Williams is able to do. And not to forget,
we do have a mister Malik Davison there as well,
who's been having some good spurts.
Speaker 11 (23:20):
And I wonder how much more because I do.
Speaker 6 (23:23):
I do feel like if you can test this defense
by by making by sticking to the run game early,
going back to the Colts game, they were taking them
out first second drive, they were behind the sticks, and
that's what everything fell apart for the number one offense
in the league. So I'm definitely looking at those two,
but I think it'll be under Yeah, for sure, Christy,
(23:45):
let's go your.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
Turn, bulls eye or bust?
Speaker 10 (23:49):
All right?
Speaker 9 (23:50):
Like that?
Speaker 5 (23:50):
The Cowboys score on their opening drive.
Speaker 10 (23:53):
Oh man, that one hurts me.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
What score score?
Speaker 9 (23:59):
Oh, I'll say bulls eye because it could be a
field goal. You didn't say score touchdown unless.
Speaker 10 (24:05):
They go for it all fourth and don't get it.
Speaker 5 (24:07):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
I was so mad that she threw the hate.
Speaker 5 (24:13):
Oh my god, I have to bring that up again
because I let it go.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
I'll take the point.
Speaker 9 (24:20):
So early, and I don't mean with that punt at
the beginning, but these other ones where it's take the
points when it's going to be a and punt the
ball it's going to be a field position, low scoring
game against the Eagles, pin them down, and then when
you get take the points again.
Speaker 6 (24:37):
Yeah it was that at fifty then they yeah, yeah,
that's what I'll go for it every time with these guys.
Speaker 10 (24:44):
And we're like, we know.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
I like the aggressiveness, but let's not then all right?
Speaker 11 (24:51):
Or wait you said you see bulls eye.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
Uh yeah, because.
Speaker 6 (24:56):
You said score, I say the same. If you said touchdown,
I would have been a touchdown.
Speaker 9 (25:00):
It was late, too late, you said your turn just
they it could be a safety for you know, defense
might score first. Who knows bullseye or bus let's go.
Speaker 10 (25:18):
I thought that I get that.
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Yeah, that was great that's a great one.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Dallas wins the red zone battle, and and they're seventy
five percent in the red zone.
Speaker 9 (25:32):
Well, actually, I have a little fun note about red zone.
But you know, they actually the reason why they lost
that game to the UH Colts on Sunday, the Chiefs
they stalled out in the red zone. They reached the
red zone six times against the Colts and only scored
(25:52):
one touchdown, so they settled for four field goals. They
lost to fumble, had just the one score. And then
for the month of November, the past three games, the
Chiefs have have reached the red zone thirteen times, scored
only four touchdowns, settled for seven field goals, and have
had two turnovers.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
So you know, for all their.
Speaker 9 (26:11):
Weapons and you know, they they've really been struggling that
that is a focal point for them, is improving that
touchdown percentage in the red zone.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
So asked the question one more time, who will win?
Who will win?
Speaker 4 (26:26):
They will win the red zone battle, and on top
of that, they'll finish seventy five percent in the red zone.
Speaker 9 (26:31):
Cowboys, Oh, Cowboys will finish seventy five percent in the
red zone scoring touchdowns.
Speaker 10 (26:36):
Bus I've seen enough they've been. I think it's been.
That's been. The frustrating part is them. We talked about it, you.
Speaker 6 (26:45):
Know, getting downfields so quickly and then getting there and
just like.
Speaker 10 (26:50):
Going Plateau like, I.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Don't know, Yeah, they're sixty one percent for the season.
Speaker 10 (26:54):
I'm going to go. I'm going with Christy.
Speaker 5 (26:57):
I forgot what they were.
Speaker 10 (26:59):
I'd like to be very much wrong though.
Speaker 9 (27:01):
Yeah, but can I just say absolutely, if you get
down in the red zone, install take the point every.
Speaker 10 (27:09):
Time they get down there tomorrow, I'm just gonna.
Speaker 5 (27:12):
Hear take the point.
Speaker 4 (27:14):
So I'm screwing all right, Bullseye or bus Dak takes.
Speaker 5 (27:23):
Three sacks on Thursday.
Speaker 9 (27:26):
Oh you know what, as good as the I hated
saying that. No, they played well in the past protections,
you know, statistically with the sacks and everything, but Chris Jones,
actually George Carloftish leads the Chiefs and sacks.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
But this is a tough front.
Speaker 9 (27:43):
You've got a young guy playing left tackle, Spagnol. Spagnola
will send people from everywhere. Safety's corners, very exotic with
the blitzes. Bullseye that he'll be sacked three times.
Speaker 5 (28:02):
Yeah, bulls eye, Yeah yeah.
Speaker 9 (28:05):
But with risk comes reward. So you know, if you
can you might they'll get you. But when they blitz,
it's gonna open some things up, I feel And yeah,
do you feel like they'll have some they'll have some
some some beat. Yeah, to beat the blitzes, it's going
(28:25):
to be like it means opportunities.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
Yeah, what do you say I can.
Speaker 6 (28:29):
Shoot out like a high scoring game tomorrow, you think so,
I'm asking.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
Oh, No, I don't think so. I think it'll be
the low scoring game, maybe like twenty one. I don't know.
I was wrong last week.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
So I would like the defense. Both defenses are playing
well right now.
Speaker 10 (28:45):
So I like how.
Speaker 6 (28:46):
I like how everyone because you know, the one thing
I do when we when we face an opponent, I
always listen to the radio, folks. The stuff you get
from radio, I just you know, I mean, you don't
thank you. Yes, it's a different vibe, but it's just
funny to kind of hear the tones of how people
are talking about the defense, Like even coming back, there
(29:06):
wasn't really a lot of respect and didn't deserve a
lot of respect, to be fair, when they were going
against the Raiders, and then when they played well together,
one of their arguably best defensive games.
Speaker 10 (29:17):
It was still like, oh.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
We're taking on the Cowboys, and then now there's a
little bit more respect happening absolutely with this. And you
beat the Eagles, you beat a winning team, you beat
up their rning super Bowl champs. So yeah, that's why
I was asking you guys about you about what you
think this score will look like because I'm just thinking
about again, Christy, I've spent some time in AFC. I
(29:41):
know what it's like when Patrick Mahomes comes to town,
regardless of what you did the game before, and you know,
Bill's fans thirteen seconds. I don't have to pay a
lot more after that, But just thinking about what he's
capable of, regardless of kind of the struggles.
Speaker 10 (29:55):
It is weird to.
Speaker 6 (29:57):
Think of Patrick Mahomes only having one touchdown, throwing on
for one touchdown in three games, Like that's kind of
an insane stat but.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
It scares me because it means he's due.
Speaker 10 (30:07):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (30:08):
That's why I'm like, I know what these defenses, the
Cowboys defense is doing now and what the Chiefs defense
has been doing all season, but I just feel like
with these two quarterbacks, like yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
And it's gonna be a show.
Speaker 9 (30:20):
I mean national stage and his first game Pat mahomes
at at and T Stadium as a pro. I think
it's gonna be a little higher scoring than with Nicole's going.
I think it's more like thirty twenty seven.
Speaker 5 (30:35):
Really.
Speaker 10 (30:35):
Oh, it's gonna be a fun.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Because I think there's some big plays to be had.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
Yeah, well, I was I'm not good with score predictions.
Speaker 10 (30:44):
I was so off last week.
Speaker 5 (30:45):
But it's okay. Well Monday Sunday, goodness.
Speaker 10 (30:48):
Okay, the days are off.
Speaker 5 (30:49):
Fine, the days are all over again.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
Over here Bullseye or bus Kansas City forces to turnovers Thursday.
Speaker 6 (30:57):
Ooh, forces to turnovers. I hate it, but I feel
like that would.
Speaker 10 (31:06):
Dang it.
Speaker 6 (31:07):
I'm just thinking about our fumbling monsters last game, and
they were able to overcome it.
Speaker 10 (31:12):
But that's just not the way. I think that was so.
Speaker 6 (31:14):
Impressive to me is all the self inflicted wounds that
normally cowboys can't come back from.
Speaker 10 (31:22):
They were able to.
Speaker 6 (31:24):
But I also think you had a different guy throwing
the rock on the other side. I'm gonna go I'm
gonna be faithful and I'm going to go busk.
Speaker 9 (31:36):
Yeah, I'm going bust as well, because that's actually been
the weakness of the Chiefs defense this year is they
only have nine takeaways in eleven games, so that's where
they're faltering.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
So yeah, there due.
Speaker 10 (31:48):
Oh no, yeah, I was.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Gonna say for four forced fumbles for the Chiefs defense
so far.
Speaker 5 (31:54):
Yeah, so not really good that it did to be
an interception.
Speaker 6 (31:58):
I'm more concerned about the self inflicted wounds when I'm
thinking of overs of the Cowboys and doing weird stuff,
tripping over themselves type of thing.
Speaker 10 (32:07):
Please, okay, let.
Speaker 3 (32:08):
Go avoid that spot on the thirty yard line.
Speaker 6 (32:12):
Okay, it goes over there, all right, bullseye or.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
Bust Dallas holds the Kansas City Chiefs to under seventy
five yards of rushing.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
No bust, bust, but check go back. Yeah, especially Pacheck
go's back.
Speaker 9 (32:34):
And then I mean Mahomes is going to get a
little bit on his own, just you know, extending plays
and scrambling and maybe having to carry it a few times,
get just enough to get the first down.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (32:49):
I think to find success, especially when we're talking about
this receiver room being all banged up, I think they're
gonna have to lean heavily on the run game to
find success. Off to go bus as well on that one,
because I think they're gonna be attempting to run the
ball as much as they can.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
Bulldye or.
Speaker 5 (33:08):
Bus, No, one's a little better. Why are you looking
at me like that?
Speaker 6 (33:11):
I'm starting to know if you need my help by
stand bys to be dramatic.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
All right, Kansas City forces Dallas into at least one
stalled drive in the red zone because of a blitz.
Speaker 10 (33:27):
Oh yeah, yeah, it was gonna be easy.
Speaker 11 (33:30):
Yeah, he's a blitzmuh yeah, they're coming.
Speaker 5 (33:32):
That's fine, all right, bulld eye or bust. Pickens draws
two DPIs.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
That's a good one. I think that's a really good one.
Speaker 6 (33:46):
I was trying to figure out with Pickens kind of
like who would be the guy, Like, I know Trent
McDuffie is there their big corner, but they also have
Jalen Watson and it seems like he goes or he
does well against the bigger.
Speaker 10 (34:05):
Receivers, which would be mister Dickens. I don't know who
he would be, Like, who do you?
Speaker 9 (34:12):
Yeah, I don't know if I don't know if they're
going to travel with with CD or not, how they're
going to do their matchups.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
So that's a good one. Well, I don't know, two
is a lot in a game. I'll go bust. But
but that that's that's close.
Speaker 6 (34:27):
Yeah yeah, yeah, I feel like that as well, because
it hasn't really I'm gonna go bus as well.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
Yeah, it might be too total maybe CD.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
Oh sure that's fair.
Speaker 11 (34:37):
Yeah, yeah, that's fair out all right, Bullseye or bus Dak.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
Prescott throws a game winning touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
Sure, let's go for it.
Speaker 10 (34:54):
Yeah, get that, bully.
Speaker 9 (34:57):
Yeah, early Christmas, Christmas on Thanksgiving? Wouldn't that be something
I picture to whom?
Speaker 6 (35:04):
To whom?
Speaker 5 (35:05):
Mm hmm, hang it?
Speaker 10 (35:08):
Nah, you know what I'm gonna go.
Speaker 5 (35:12):
I wasn't that Redemption game?
Speaker 10 (35:14):
Yeah, maybe that's gonna be that one.
Speaker 5 (35:16):
Maybe it'll be surprised.
Speaker 10 (35:20):
If it happens. We'll save this click and then I'll
have to eat my words. I feel like it would
be I feel like it would be like a Javante
Williams running.
Speaker 11 (35:32):
I feel like this would be a rushing testdown for
some reason.
Speaker 10 (35:35):
So I'm gonna go.
Speaker 3 (35:35):
But I don't care as long as they score, get
the point, take the points, all right?
Speaker 15 (35:43):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Sorry, m hm.
Speaker 10 (35:46):
Bull's Eye or.
Speaker 11 (35:49):
Bus Dallas has four players.
Speaker 5 (35:56):
I was gonna go five.
Speaker 10 (35:57):
But four players with at least.
Speaker 5 (36:02):
Fifty plus receiving yards.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
Oh wow, that's a good one.
Speaker 10 (36:07):
Fifty at least fifty three for sure. You said four.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Yeah, I don't know about four.
Speaker 10 (36:13):
I'll go I'm just looking at it.
Speaker 3 (36:15):
I'll go bust.
Speaker 5 (36:16):
I mean obviously your GP, Yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
Do you'd have Flinoy maybe or Noy? That's four right there.
Speaker 6 (36:25):
I'm just looking at what they've done in the past,
and I think for me saying I think Pickens is
going to lead the room, I think he's going to
get a bulk of the targets. I don't know how
much that leaves unless they have a bunch of chunk
plays like they did last game, which was nice to see.
But I'm gonna go bus. I think four might be
a lot against. I think it's gonna be like one
guy doing a lot of the bulk.
Speaker 10 (36:47):
Maybe three before the stretch.
Speaker 5 (36:49):
All right, let's see which one I want to go with.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
Let's see this, all right, Bullseye or Bus Kansas City
holds Cowboys score this in the third quarter.
Speaker 10 (37:02):
Kannessy Cowboy scoreless.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
I'll go bus because he's like, I don't want to see.
Speaker 9 (37:09):
I'm trying to think. Do you get the you know
who gets the opening kickoff of the third quarter? You
might have only two possessions. Uh a bust buss.
Speaker 7 (37:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
I think it'll be a I think it'll be a
fairly high scoring game.
Speaker 6 (37:24):
So I think Quentin Williams will give another great speech
at halftime and they'll come out.
Speaker 10 (37:30):
All right.
Speaker 5 (37:30):
That's right for bulls are bus?
Speaker 10 (37:32):
That was good?
Speaker 2 (37:33):
Like it?
Speaker 10 (37:34):
I like it?
Speaker 3 (37:34):
Good ones.

Why Day? Why Day?
Speaker 15 (40:31):
I like that?
Speaker 10 (40:32):
I like that?
Speaker 9 (40:33):
So it goes directly into today's fun fact. Why day
of Why do the Cowboys get to host.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
The Thanksgiving Day game? And Detroit? Why do they get
to host it?
Speaker 10 (40:45):
Right?
Speaker 3 (40:45):
I mean, seriously, do you know why the Cowboys have
hosted it?
Speaker 2 (40:52):
So?
Speaker 9 (40:52):
Actually, Detroit started it in nineteen thirty four. Okay, Detroit
has hosted a game every Thanksgiving since nineteen thirty four.
Their owner at the time his name was George Richards
and he owned a radio station there in Detroit. It
was affiliated with NBC, and so he negotiated this agreement
where the radio network would broadcast the Thanksgiving Day game nationally,
(41:16):
and so they hosted every year since nineteen thirty four.
There were exceptions during World War Two where they didn't
host on that day, but tradition in the NFL since
nineteen thirty four, well in nineteen and it was always
an early afternoon game. In nineteen sixty six, Pete Roselle,
(41:37):
a marketing genius, he was the commissioner of the NFL
for decades. He wanted to add a second game because
he knew that families are together and there are a
lot of eyes potentially with TVs that you could draw
in a huge national audience, and he was looking for
(41:57):
another NFL team to host a game. Crazy NFL team
would take the risk. Seriously, NFL is not what it was,
not what it is now. Back in the nineteen sixties,
it was not even the second most popular sport in America.
You could argue that boxing or even horse racing was
more popular nationally than football. Baseball ruled back then. But
(42:23):
Tech Shram, the visionary president and general manager of the
Cowboys and a Hall of Famer. He saw the potential
of getting his Cowboys, who remember in the sixties they
were in an expansion team started in nineteen sixty. This
is a way to get them in front of the
eyeballs of the nation exclusively, right, and so in that
(42:44):
timeframe afternoon after the Detroit game, So he agreed to
do it there at the Cotton Bowl. The NFL was smart.
They sent in the Cleveland Browns, one of the premier
teams at the time, but the Cowboys did it and
drew and then all record crowd for the Cowboys. Over
eighty two thousand people showed up at the Cotton Bowl
in nineteen sixty six, amazing crowd. Cowboys got the win
(43:08):
over the Browns, and it was basically like a gentleman's agreement. Okay,
we'll do this, we'll host it, we'll take the risk,
but we get the game. There were two years in
the nineteen seventies where the game was taken from the
Cowboys and given to the Saint Louis Cardinals because other
owners around the league moaned so much about the unfair
(43:32):
advantage that Detroit and the Cowboys had that every year
on a short.
Speaker 3 (43:37):
Week they get a home game.
Speaker 9 (43:39):
Well, they moaned about it enough that it went to
the Cardinals twice, but the ratings were so bad that
they gave the game back to the Cowboys.
Speaker 10 (43:47):
So that's why.
Speaker 9 (43:48):
That's why the Cowboys have played at home, with the
exception of two years in the seventies, every Thanksgiving since
nineteen sixty six.
Speaker 11 (43:58):
I mean, it's the biggest Brandon sports. No, I didn't
know the Cardinals tried to.
Speaker 5 (44:03):
Yeah, I didn't know that the either. That's that's a
nice fun fact.
Speaker 6 (44:07):
Today in twenty twenty five, I don't want to watch
that game on Thanksgiving. It's just with the Cowboys tradition.
It's so funny though I didn't know that. I knew,
I knew Detroit was other team, but I didn't know why.
Speaker 9 (44:19):
Yeah, it was marketing ploy and really for tech Shram,
same thing, right, why did the Cowboys play in the
NFC East. Why did they stay in the East when
there was NFL realignment? Because tech Shram knew that the
sports media, the media, major media markets in the United States,
New York right, get in front of the major media markets.
(44:42):
And so that's why he fought for the Cowboys to stay,
to be placed in the East and to stay in
the East because think of the size of markets. And
I know that LA is the second largest market now
in Chicago, but you know, you've got to keep the
team in front of the sports writers and the people
(45:02):
who shape opinions and sports.
Speaker 3 (45:04):
So that's why they're in the East.
Speaker 6 (45:06):
I never thought about that too, media wise, because when
you say that, you know, in New York you have
the Jets and you have the Giants. And I know
a lot of people in the coaching world that were like,
I'd love to coach for the Giants.
Speaker 10 (45:19):
It's just different because when you're.
Speaker 6 (45:22):
Out there, they just they kind of how how the
Cowboys are looked here, that's how the Giants are looked
at in New York.
Speaker 11 (45:28):
And they just have them like on a pedestal, regardless
of what their season looks like.
Speaker 6 (45:32):
And I think that's to your point, Like that's just
I never really thought and it just kind of all
like makes sense, like who who's their who's their fan base,
and who's how the media? Like that's going to be
no matter what type of season the Giants have, They're
always going to be front center in that.
