Speaker 1 (00:01):
It fits in with Kate podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I want to talk about this one as we move on.
Good luck everybody cravings? Can I just ask a quick
question the aldi snackstand that's arrived in the studio. Who
puts a snack stand next to the snack man. It's
just an obvious mistake, Tommy.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Yeah, but a wonderful mistake.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
I've just been smashing grapes covered in good all morning.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
We we we have usually bars, we do have fruit
there as well. You have some great options. And thank
you very much for Audi for putting.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
To watch him go back and forth every Well, this
is why.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
I want to talk about what's called urge surfing fits
and they talk about urges. Whatever your urge might be,
whether you're an overspender or maybe you're a gambler, you
eat bad food, or whatever it might be. Let's say
chocolate for example. Okay, because everybody did it over Easter
and they want, oh you reckon, there's another Easter egg
in it.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
I'll have a go.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Urge surfing is the way they describe the urge, and
there's some techniques so you can control your urges. So
they call it urge surfing because you need to actually
pitch the urge like a wave. It builds, it builds,
it builds, the wave crashes, hits.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
The shore, and then it's gone.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
So you need to be able to surf through the urge.
So the first thing there says, recognize the urge. Okay,
so I'm sitting there, I'm looking at an easter egg.
I can feel the urge. They then say, name the urge,
chocky ed chocky egg urge.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Right, I'm still looking at the egg.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
So the urge is still there, but I've named it,
so I've recognized it. Your next thing. Next thing to
do is prepare for the wave.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
So I'm still looking at it. I've given it a name,
the chi egg urge, and I'm going to prepare for it.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
So I brace myself.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Maybe I put my hands out in the chair as
I'm staring at a table or a bowl full of eggs.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
And then you need to let the urge run its course,
let that wave crash.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Shut your eyes and.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Picture the urge crashing like a wave and then dissolving
into the sand.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Get up and move yourself away from the egg.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Well, if you're I mean, if we're talking chocolate, chocolate,
you'd have to be the Kelly Slater, wouldn't you?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
You're right up, seven times world champ. So, Tommy, if
I go blank in any of the meetings, I'm just
going I'm urge surf. Here we go, right, I'm talking
myself through an urge.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Your nique name around here is turds actually, so it's
very similar.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
I don't want a turn surf. I'm not don a
bondig with a bond cigar.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
It fits in with.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
Her Withie podcast.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
We need to talk about this.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Is there's a there's another trend that started, mate, I
cannot believe this, but tazos are back.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
No waste the money. These are flying out the door, whipper.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
There are colilometers and kilometers of lines at pop marts
of a new Chinese toy, which is which they're called
le Buobuo dolls.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Now, I don't know there's a there's a designer from Japan.
I'm pretty Japanese design yes, and they are flying out
the door now.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
It's also I was reading.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
About this, but there's like you're buying blind toys, so
you don't know which one you're going to get. They
cost They cost around about thirty two dollars but on
resale sites they go up to one hundred dollars, and
the extent that kids are going to and adults as
well to actually get these Labuobu dolls are unbelievable. One

(03:41):
person that we needed to get on the line from
glebe is oddly good.

Speaker 5 (03:44):
Morning only Hello morning.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Can you explain just spell it out? I mean what
fits he told you?

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Then?

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Is that correct?

Speaker 3 (03:52):
What are these dolls?

Speaker 5 (03:54):
So they're like little keytanes are fluffy key teenes that
you like put on your big It's kind of like
an accessory.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
But they look like troll dolls.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
Yeah, they're like little monsters. They have both faces on them,
and yeah, they're blind boxes, so you can like you
have one of six chance to get like different colors.
And then there's also the secret which is like one
out of like one hundred or one out of seventy two?

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Right, how much would they be worth only if you
put them up on a resale website that the secret ones?

Speaker 3 (04:26):
How much would they be worth?

Speaker 5 (04:28):
I'm not sure. I think like maybe two hundred dollars.
It depends on like which one. But yeah, they've gotten
quite popular now, so some people will pay a.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Lot for them.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Only can you please tell everyone out there the extent
that you've gone to to get one of these dolls?

Speaker 3 (04:44):
How far have you gone?

Speaker 5 (04:46):
So I went to Malaysia. I was already planning on
Malaysia's trip, so I was like, I definitely know that
they're going to have some. And in Asia it's really popular,
so they're literally everywhere.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Oh my god, did you try in Sydney lead to
get one?

Speaker 5 (05:01):
Yeah, I went like for a whole walk around the
city because there's around like three pop mark stores or
like little Venny machines, and I walk all around the city.
I now sold out everywhere, and then there's a few
stores that sell them like second hand, but they're like
more expensive and you don't know if they're legit.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Okay, so you said they're an accessory, so they've got
a little clip in what You put them on your handbag?

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Do you?

Speaker 5 (05:23):
Yeah? Yeah, I have one of my gym bag. I
have one on my my every day handbag.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
So who's the designer? Only tell us about the designer.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
I'm not really sure. I thought it was someone from
Hong Kong, but you said Japan.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
Okay. Actually, actually I've got it. Sorry, I've tracked it down.
It's designed by Hong Kong born artists Kissing Lung, but
it's it's sold through the Chinese toy company Popmark. It's
the viral obsession. I mean, it's the thing that the
kids are going to get. What's the biggest lineup you've
seen to get these?

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Only?

Speaker 5 (05:58):
I think that's probably one of the new on just
came out. There's like huge lines. I've heard people waiting
for like two hours, like all across the world as well,
like Australia. It's just it's just become popular in Australia,
but it was like it's everywhere in Asia and like
even in England and stuff.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Oh my god, this is crazy, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
How many do I need? Like if I've got one,
what am I going.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
To do with it?

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Only?

Speaker 5 (06:21):
I think just look down the street and get some
street crap.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
So true, we were going to get a dog, but
I'll get one of these instead.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Only you know when we were kids, utterly what we
used to do.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
We used to put chip packets in the oven and
they were called shrinkies and you shrink them down and
then you put a hole in them and use them
as a key ring. That was our obsession back in
the day.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
That's kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
What do you call these dolls again?

Speaker 5 (06:47):
Boo boo boo boo.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
Okay, well, oddly thank you for filling us in because
I had no idea what these are all about.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
But it is the latest subsision. We appreciate you coming
on the show. I've just brought six off the internet.
Do you know what.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
I just had a look on my phone to see
if I could buy one, maybe thinking Mother's Day can't
get one?

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Sold out?

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Sold out, sold out, sold out? Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
You know it's another phase, mate, it is just another phase.
I mean, I'm still I can still do walk the
Dog with my fan to yo yo, and I'm waiting.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
For that to go up.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Do you know what on the weekend, I've got a
mate who lives in LA and he was there with
the family and some other people and you know.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
What they were doing, the ice bucket Challenge. What do
you mean it's back.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
It's not bad, Yes it is. And I think they
nominated you, Tom Well, it's.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Were you really? Hugh Jackman got involved with that, the
celebrities got involved. That's why it took off.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Susan Boyle love the ice bucket.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Well, I'm currently up to three minutes of planking.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Cool, keep that up. It's really funny. Remember the fifth effort?

Speaker 2 (08:00):
We went to do that one where you walk into
the office and everyone has to be still on the
camera moves through, or you do the one where everyone's
just having a normal meeting and then it cuts to
you going psycho.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Over them, shake.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Yeah, and then that's not around anymore.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
That's why who got canceled by that? You know?

Speaker 2 (08:21):
The kids entertainer got canceled because he Blippy, Yeah, Blippy
Blippy got involved in.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Level be canceled.

radar Brown.
