The Wellington Lions begin their 2025 NPC title defence with a new permanent home ground of Porirua Park, and a new skipper with Brad Shields taking over from new All Black Du'Plessis Kirifi.

To preview the season, Adam Cooper spoke with Lions halfback Kyle Preston, who's back in the capital after a strong debut Super Rugby season with the Crusaders.
