Biden's Budget Proposal Sets Up Fight With House GOP

On Thursday, President Biden revealed his 2024 budget proposal. The President called for various tax hikes in the plan, including a minimum tax rate for the wealthiest 0.1% of Americans, a corporate tax increase, and a higher income tax on Americans earning $400,000 or more. The Biden administration's budget proposal comes amid a debt ceiling stalemate, with Congressional Republicans calling for less spending and no new taxes. Section 702 of FISA gives intelligence agencies the authority to spy on foreigners abroad without a warrant, which many top government officials credit for stopping terrorism and saving American lives. Opponents of this tool say government intelligence agencies use it as a method to surveil US citizens without a warrant.
