Tune in here to this Wednesday edition of Breaking With Brett Jensen!

Breaking Brett Jensen kicks off the show discussing the major local news story he broke on social media: Customs and Border Protection agents are being deployed to Charlotte from Chicago. Jensen emphasizes that Customs and Border Protection is different from Immigration and Customs Enforcement and says the agents are coming to Charlotte for a specific operation. He reports that more than 100 CBP agents are expected to arrive in the Queen City as early as Nov. 15, but no later than early in the week, and that they will be in the city for only a few days.

Jensen also reads a statement that Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles posted on her social media account, noting that it’s the type of statement only Lyles would write and share publicly. He points out that the word “safe” appears repeatedly in the statement. Jensen suggests that Lyles should instead focus on keeping residents safe from the murders occurring in the Uptown area, which accounts for 14% of homicides within Charlotte city limits.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Hi Oh, let's go. Hi Oh, let's go. Oh, let's
go oh.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Let's go just talk eleven ten and ninety nine three
WBT Brett Jensen here with you on this really active
Wednesday Night of Breaking with Brett Jensen as we go
up until seven o'clock tonight.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Seven o four five seven eleven ten is the telephone
number in guys, make sure you follow me on X
at Brett Underscore Jensen for all the lattus in breaking
news in and around the Charlotte area. I'm a little
out of breath. So what happens? We have to run
from the parking lot into the studio. A lot going on,
a lot going on, And I will tell you I

(01:09):
just broke major major news on X not even three
minutes ago, four minutes ago, major news. And the news
is this. Well, I'll get to the news in a second.
I'm gonna build up to it. It's called a tease,
but so but it involves my day. And here's the

(01:32):
thing my day. About eleven o'clock I started getting questions about, hey,
is ice coming? Is ice coming? Is ice coming? Because
I asked the big rumor ice is coming? And then
of course people realize it's not Ice. It's border patrol.

(01:53):
Customs and border patrol two entirely different entities, you know,
And that's the thing. So all right, so border patrol
is border patrol coming to schol It's not Ice. You
need to make it very clear when you say it's

(02:15):
not Ice. Okay, it's not Ice. They're two entirely separate entities.
Just like WBT and WBTV could not be more different.
We're not even the same company. We're in the same building,
but different company. One's TV, one's radio. Border Patrol and

(02:35):
ICE are two entirely separate. I believe they're both under
the Homeland Security umbrella, but they're completely opposite. So are
they coming? Are they coming? Are they coming? And I
was like talking to people, CMS is freaking out and
they're having like zoom calls and everything else about oh
my gosh, what are we going to do with our families?

(02:57):
Our families say space. First of all, Border Patrol or Ice,
neither one has ever gone to a school in America.
In America, you think they're going to go to a
school in Charlotte, Like, think about where they've been Chicago
and LA and New York and Boston and everywhere else

(03:21):
right Portland. They haven't gone to a single school yet.
Why are they going to go to a school? An
elementary school in Charlotte? As I used to say back
in the day when I was in high school, ain't
hatton to captain? Right? I know, I know that's stupid.
So but CMS is freaking Oh oh my gosh. What

(03:43):
are we gonna do at Butler High School? In the
hallways built like on the bulletin boards, it says how
to deal with ice if approached by ice, and everything's
like written in Spanish. Okay, great, whatever, And then you've
got county and city leaders and representatives from this area

(04:04):
putting out a joint statement that said absolutely nothing. It
was a two page joint statement that was the biggest
nothing burger you have ever seen in your life. Here,
let me give you a synopsis of two pages. We
support immigrants. Congratulations, that was your two page statement. They

(04:25):
were careful not to say we support illegal immigrants. We
support immigrants one hundred and fifty thousand people. We want
to make it a safe community for everyone. We are
a welcoming city. You're also a sanctuary city, like, don't
forget that. But which is true? And then the mayor

(04:46):
puts out a statement which I will read next segment,
And I tell you what, as I read it, I'm
gonna have Travis and Lonny come over all over here
and we're all gonna hold hands, and in the background,
Lani's going to sing Kumbaya as we all as I
read this statement as well as that's how we're gonna

(05:08):
do it, We're just gonna put Kumbaya in the background.
As I read the statement from Violas, and we know
that it came from her team, the same team that
wrote the Arena Zaruska statement and then the second disaster
of a statement and then the third statement. So if
that gives you any idea what we're in store for.

(05:31):
I spoke to multiple people as of three point thirty
four o'clock this afternoon, nobody knew anything. And on the
way to the station at five forty, I got a
phone call and said they're coming. They're coming. I said, okay,

(05:59):
how many? Who's coming? Ice or Customs and Border Patrol.
It's Customs and Border Patrol. It's not Ice, Customs and
Border Patrol. They're coming, Okay, how many? Well over one hundred,
Well over one hundred Okay, what are they going to

(06:20):
be here? Saturday at the absolute earliest, but maybe Monday
or Tuesday of next week, early next week at the latest,
but possibly as early as Saturday. Okay, how long are
they staying? Very short time, two three days max. They're

(06:41):
here for a very specific and targeted reason. Okay, they're
on the way from Chicago. I don't know what they
have to do, if they will stop on the way
here or what. I don't know if they like just

(07:01):
take a couple of days off because they just left
Chicago and say, all right, you know what, We're gonna
park in Memphis, and I'm just making it. We're gonna
park in Nashville, hang out in Nashville for a couple
of days, do nothing like this will be your weekend
and then boom, let's go. We'll be in shaw It
on Saturday, or we'll be in shaw It on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
And I said, are you sure? And this person said,

(07:26):
do you have other people you can call? I said,
I've got two more people I can call, Ding Ding
They're coming. Do you remember And if you're not a
sports fan, this will mean absolutely nothing to you. And

(07:48):
I may ask Londia to find this during the break.
But when Dion Sanders did his introductory announcements to the
people like Colorado, but he kept saying We're coming, We're coming.
That's all he kept saying, over and over. That should
be the theme, We're coming now. I will also tell

(08:14):
you that there may be a press conference on Friday
with a lot of Democrats in front of the Government Center.
I was told there's a possibility, and they're all going
to be upset that border patrol is going to be
coming to Charlotte to take away criminals. And I don't

(08:35):
mean the person that is doing normal, regular things, whether
it's maintenance or nannying or whatever. I'm not even talking
about that house cleaning. I'm not even talking about that.
I mean people who have already been arrested, who are
actual criminals. Right. But they're going to have what I've
been told was likely a press conference Friday afternoon at

(08:57):
the Government Center to lament about border the customs and
Border patrol coming to Charlotte for two or three days,
maybe less, maybe day more, maybe day less. Maybe it's
only one day. I doubt it's one day. You don't
come here for one day, But maybe two three days,

(09:19):
but and then they're gonna head on to New Orleans.
Now what you have to understand is they drive everywhere
because they've got to have their vehicles, so they're not
flying here. So they're driving down from Chicago and then
they're gonna leave Charlotte and then drive to New Orleans.
Like that's that's how they're doing this, right, So that's

(09:43):
multiple people have confirmed to me. Multiple people in the
know have confirmed to me. They have all gotten word
Customs and Border Patrol. They're coming. They're coming, all right.
When we come back, I will give you some more reaction.
I'll give you some a mom that I spoke to

(10:05):
earlier today about the possibility, just a normal average mom
get her thoughts. I'll tell you what she had to say,
and I'll also read that wonderful prose given to us
by our Mayor y Las. Welcome back to Breaking with

(10:31):
Brett Jensen. I just broke the news with confirmation that
Customs and Border Patrol is coming. They'll be here Saturday
at the earliest, early next week at the latest, more
than one hundred or coming. They're only going to be
here for just a couple of days, two three days,

(10:53):
something like that before leaving town and headed to New Orleans.
They're only coming for very specific reason, since it's not like, oh,
we're just going to go neighborhood to neighborhood to neighborhood.
There's very targeted and specific reasons why they're coming. And

(11:14):
I'm going to read Vilaos's thing to you real quick.
And she put out a statement a little bit ago,
so I'm just gonna read it to you because this
is a statement as only VI I can do. I'm
aware of reports of immigration enforcement activity that may be

(11:37):
coming to Charlotte. I'm coming. It is important that we
keep to the facts that we know, as there are
many rumors in the community that, as far as we know,
are not verified, and we do not want to cause
additional alarm or uncertain, uncertain environment alarm. Who would be
the people that would be nervous by this, People who

(12:01):
are illegal in this country, people who have committed crimes
in this country, who are not from this country. First
and foremost, every person who lives, works, studies, or visits
our city deserves to feel safe, respected, and protected under
the law. Then in my area, I would have parentheses

(12:23):
including criminals. Apparently Sean is a strong and welcoming community
rooted in respect for the inherent dignity of all people.
By the way, you know how I know this is
chat GPT and AI. This is I'm not even joking.
I am being dead serious when I say this.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
When you use chat GPT or AI, they have instead
of like a short dash, it uses the long dash
and there's no spaces between the dash and the word
like in normal English you have space like a word
space short dash space a word word space dash space

(13:09):
word chat to BT or AI.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
It's a long dash and there's no spaces. Guess what,
no spaces long dash, chat, TBT or one are the
other ones anyways? So while I mean considering how bad
her staff crap the bed with the arena Zerrutska statement,

(13:32):
I understand why they're now going to chat GPT or AI.
Sean is committed to following the law and to protecting
the rights of all people who call our city home.
Our police department continues to focus on keeping our neighborhood
safe and maintaining public trust. We remain dedicated to fair
and lawful policing for everyone. I understand that men in

(13:54):
our community may feel anxiety or uncertainty. I understand how
unsettling it can be when the sense of security you
have in your daily life is shaken. Oh, you mean
like people murdering your loved ones or breaking into your
house or stealing your car? You mean like that? Okay,
your safety matters, Your rights matter. Charlotte's strength lies in

(14:17):
our unity and mutual respect. We are safer together, we
are stronger together. Let us continue working toward a city
where everyone feels safe, valued, and able to contribute to
our shared future. How many times are you gonna use
the word safe? No one's getting killed, unlike what happens
in uptown. No one's getting killed fourteen percent. As of

(14:40):
October fifth, fourteen percent of all murders in Charlotte were
in Uptown and it's less than one percent of the
city in terms of square mileage. As Charlotte Meckaburth Police
Department has shared, CMPD does not participate in NICE operations,
nor is thempity involved in the planning of these federal activities.
CMPD would only become involved in situations where there are

(15:00):
criminal behavior or criminal warrants that fall under cmpd's jurisdiction,
and also by the way keeping federal agents safe. That
would be under their jurisdiction as well. You got to
keep the FED safe. If they ask for your help, Hey,
can you build up a perimeter? That's their job. So
now the mayor appears to have resorted to AI to

(15:22):
write her statements, not even like I'm not even joking.
There are telltale signs, and the long dash with no
spaces is one of them. Hint to Viylyyles staff. Next time,
do a shorter dash and make sure there are spaces
in between the words and the dash. It's actually kind

(15:43):
of sad that you don't know that. That makes me sad.
I don't know how twenty or thirty somethings who use
AI all the time don't know that. So anyways, I
will tell you this real quick. So I spoke to
a Republican because it depends who you speak to, but
I spoke to a Republican mom, and I said, what

(16:04):
are your thoughts about the potential of customer and Border
Patrol coming to Charlotte two three, four, five days? And
the mom said, well, it makes me want to put
on my jogging shoes and go running again because it
will be the first time I have felt safe in
a while. Okay, that's an interesting way to say it.

(16:26):
She said she didn't feel safe running and jogging alone.
I get it. I get it. So to a lot
of other people, they understand that.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Welcome back to breaking with Brad Jensen on this Wednesday
night seven oh four or five, seven oh eleven ten.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
In case you're just joining us and missed it and
you don't follow me on X because I don't know
you're a loser and you don't follow me on X,
but series trying to talk to me. But I will
say this, I reported less than an hour ago, about
forty five minutes ago, that Customs and Border Patrol, even

(17:15):
though there's been like a lot of widespread speculation from
national outlets that they were coming, I got it confirmed
from many sources forty five minutes ago that Customs and
Border Patrol not ice. They are two entirely separate entities.

(17:35):
They both I believe, work under the umbrella of Homeland Security,
but they are completely different, just like the HR Department
is completely different than the broadcasting department at WBT. Completely different,
same company sorta, I mean, under the same umbrella, but
two entirely different entities. So with that said, I was

(18:00):
told that they could be here as early as Saturday,
but no later than early next week, and they may
stay for a few days. They're coming for a very
specific and targeted reason. Before leaving town. They're driving down

(18:24):
from Chicago. They may take a few days to get here,
three four, five, six days to get here, but they
are driving down from Chicago. You can't fly. You got
to have your vehicles and stuff and everything with you.
So they're driving down from Chicago, and well over one

(18:45):
hundred are coming to town, and then they will leave
town and most likely had two New Orleans. Now, the
question is, as I spoke to the mom earlier today,
who's got a high school student, The mother of a

(19:08):
high school student said, well, good, Now I feel like
I will be able to put on my jogging shoes
and actually go for a run and feel safe while
running alone. I was like, all right, and here's why.
Just like all the crime have you seen all those

(19:29):
crime sets and how they have just dropped through the
floor in Chicago? Have you seen all the crime sets
and how they drop through the floor in Memphis and Washington,
d C. What happens the National Guard, Ice, Customs, Border Patrol.

(19:52):
They come to town or a town. Everyone who is
doing things bad stays home. They stay home. They might
wait it out. It might take three weeks, it might
take two weeks, it might take a month, don't know,
but they wait. They stay home. Even if they're not
necessarily in your neighborhood. They stay. You stay home. That's

(20:17):
why crime is down in extreme amount in Chicago and Washington,
d C. And Memphis. By the way, Memphis, it's crime
rate three hundred and fifty percent above the national average
for that hell hole. And it is a hell hole.
I've been to Memphis. Outside of the Peabody Hotel where

(20:38):
the ducks are, outside of Bill Street, where all the
bars in the mini Bourbon Street. Outside of that, Memphis
is a hell hole. So people are going to be
happy that they're coming. And then you're going to have
all the Democrat politicians. Oh my gosh, our families don't

(21:01):
feel safe. Let me ask you a question. They always
talk about families being broken up or families feel safe.
All right. I use this analogy talking to someone earlier
to this evening, for instance, because you always talk about, oh,
they're breaking of families, they're breaking of families. Families don't

(21:21):
feel safe. Let me ask you a question. If I
break into Lonnie's house, Like, I'm an actual born in America,
and I break into Lonnie's house to steal his TVs,
and I happen to run in to some of his
family members while I'm trying to steal his TVs, So

(21:42):
I tie them all up and put them in the
closet so they can't do anything. If I go home
and the police knock on my door, aren't they breaking
up my family if they arrest me? Like, aren't they
literally breaking up my family? If they arrest me even
though I was born in America, They're breaking up my family? Right.

(22:05):
Guess what when you're a criminal, that's what happens. Your
family gets broken up. You go to the pokey, or
you get deported. That's my point. Oh, the families are
Your family should be scared if you're doing things illegally.
If my son is a criminal, I'm scared for my son. Like,

(22:29):
I don't understand it. I don't understand. Oh, our families
are nervous and make our families feel safe. No, if
you're doing things illegal, you should not feel safe. Whether
you're an American and we're born here or an American
that immigrated and became a naturalized citizen, or you came

(22:53):
here illegally, you do something illegal, you should not feel
safe and you should worry about your family getting broken up.
For the life of me, I will never understand that.
If your dad's a criminal and you go to CMS
your dad's wanted for burglary or god forbid, murder or assault,

(23:18):
of course you're gonna be worried that your family's gonna
be broken up. It's not the kid's fault, but that's
part of being part of that family. It's not the
kids fault. They came here across the board illegally and
maybe their father is a drug smuggler. I mean, I
just don't understand it. I truly don't unless you truly

(23:43):
do not want to have borders. And saw a report
that came out that said thousands, maybe thousands of illegal
immigrants have been voting in North Carolina elections because basically
you just need a license, not supposed to be allowed

(24:04):
to vote, not supposed to be allowed to vote. And
why are Democrats so concerned about all the deportations one
of the main reasons they lose voters. And what I
mean by that is not all illegal immigrants are voting,
and not all illegal immigrants are voting for Democrats. However,

(24:25):
when the census comes around in twenty twenty or twenty thirty,
how many state how many congressional seats each state gets
depends on the population, not legal population, total population. So
California just lost a House seat this last election. In
after the twenty twenty one census, New York lost the seat.

(24:47):
North Carolina gained a seat because so many people are
moving to North Carolina and they base it on total population.
So if you start taking all these illegal immigrants out
of places like Arizona or California or whatever, and their
population numbers go down, that means they lose another House seat,
a congressional seat, because it's based on population, not legal population.

(25:10):
That's a fact. We'll go back to breaking with Brett
Jensen for a few more minutes here on this Wednesday
night before as we go up till seven o'clock tonight. Okay,
so you know the news that I broke earlier today,
in case you're just joining us. As I said earlier today,

(25:31):
about an hour ago, broke the news that multiple officials
and multiple sources tell me that Customs and Border Patrol
agents will be descending upon Charlotte as early as Saturday,
but no later than early next week, and that they
will be here for a few days, maybe two, maybe four,

(25:56):
and that well over one hundred we'll come to Charlotte
for very specific and targeted reasons before heading to New Orleans.
So broke that about an hour ago Exhibit A, and
why you should be following me on X right there
Exhibit A. Okay, so if you want to call in

(26:20):
real quick and give me your thoughts about that. Is
it good, bad that they're coming, let me know seven
eleven ten, as we got about maybe four or five
minutes ago. Also, want to let you guys know that
I asked Lena hearing the branking, like, what do you
want to talk about? And he said, you could talk
about the two thousand dollars stimulus check that a lot
of people think that they're going to get from Donald Trump.

(26:42):
And I went, yeah, this this aint COVID. And you know,
Trump completely complained about, you know, spending all that money
that the government didn't have during COVID. Now his argument
would be, this is all the money that we've saved
and made from the tariffs, so we're not spending money

(27:07):
by giving each person a two thousand dollars check in theory.
And I'm just saying all this in theory. But Lonnie
had to tell his mom exactly what I said when
I was in high school. Ain't hatting the captain, And
I tend to believe that. I tend to believe dude,
if you want to give one hundred million people two
thousand dollars, just put it towards the deficit or something

(27:29):
like that, the debt whatever, right, or use it to,
you know, help fund social security a little bit more,
whatever the case may be, or you know, give give
you know, people raises that deserve them, whether it's air
traffic control people or whatever it is. You know. I mean,

(27:50):
if you want to give me my two thousand and
Lonnie's two thousand, that's fine. I'll take that. Loni will
be happy with nothing. That's fine. But again, don't don't
I tend to be fully on the camp of Lannie
in this. Just don't don't hold your breath that it's
gonna happen. It will be a very nice, pleasant surprise

(28:16):
and a pleasant shock. And if they write me a
two thousand dollars. Check. I'll go buy two thousand dollars
worth of peanut M and ms because that'll be istple.
That's what most people will do, and Wan is right,
most people will just blow it and spend it on
something stupid. I'll spend it on peanut M and ms.
How about that? Or lenning those my Rece's cup, those
are my I will plow through some recy cups reces

(28:41):
or reces Rees's, Rees's Reese's cup. All right, that's gonna
do for us tonight. Again, make sure you follow me
on X so I can so you can keep up
to date on all the stuff going on with border patrol. Again,
it's not Ice. ICE is a completely different entity. It's
customs and bored Patrol. That's who will be coming to Charlotte,

(29:03):
according to multiple multiple sources that I spoke to this evening. Okay,
all right, so with all that being said, again, follow
me on X. I think there's gonna be a press
conference on Friday. I'm hearing I'm hearing rumors about that
from like the Democrats want to hold a press conference
on Friday at the Government Center. Upset about border patrol
coming to Charlotte. We'll see. We'll see if that actually happens,

(29:26):
but it should be making for a very interesting next
five or six days. As somebody said, bring out the popcorn.
I agree. All right, that's going to do it for
us tonight. Have a great night. TJ. Richie's ups. Next.
