Speaker 1 (00:00):
News Talk eleven ten and ninety nine three WBT.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Brett Jensen here with you on this very active Friday
of Breaking with Brett Jensen as we go up until
seven o'clock tonight. As always, tell phone numbers to get
in on the show seven oh four five, seven oh
eleven ten. That is also the WBT text line, which
of course is being brought to you by Liberty Buick
and GMC and guys really following me on x AT
(00:24):
Brett Underscore Jensen for all the letters and breaking news
in and around the Charlotte area. I tell you that
all the time, and there's a reason why I tell
you that. Okay, so we've got a lot to get
into and a lot of it is going to center
around the border patrol at Border Protection actually is the
official name of Customs and Border Protection.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Well, some of them may be arriving at Charlotte or whatever.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Some may have already gotten here early, but they're waiting,
and more maybe expected tomorrow and then early next week.
But with all that being said, a lot of people
are truly truly upset that they're coming here. You know,
I'm not even joking. I'm not even trying to get
political they're truly concerned about criminals. They wanted to protect
(01:06):
the criminals. Well, I figured, you know what a good
person to talk to about this is Congressman Tim Moore,
who represents parts of you know, Mecklenburg County and parts
of Charlotte. And so again, first of all, Congressman, I
appreciate you joining us tonight, and there's a lot that
we want to get into, but I want to first
talk about the shutdown. What were your thoughts about the
shutdown finally coming to an end.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Well, I was, I'll tell you, I've been extremely frustrated,
you know, for the forty semi days that the government
was shut down because Brad it was impacting normal everyday Americans,
who you know, didn't need to have to deal with this,
and the Democrats were using this shutdown as a partisan weapon.
(01:50):
Now and I'm aware that in years past Republicans have
done that, let me be clear, it's wrong regardless of
who does. The difference this time when Democrats did it, though,
is that there was nothing extra in there. It was
literally just a continuing resolution to simply keep the government open,
where they didn't have any policy objector or policy objections.
(02:12):
There was nothing in it that they found objectionable. It
was just that they were using it as leverage because
they wanted other policy changes that had nothing to do
with it. It was wrong, and so I think that
they finally had received enough pressure from from folks that
they backed off. And I, you know, I don't want
to try to spike the ball if say the Democrats caved.
(02:34):
What I think happened is you had the way I
like to think it was, you had some moderate, more
moderate Democrats who realized that their you know, liberal leadership
was was reading them, leading them down the wrong path,
and they joined with the Republicans to reopen the government.
And so now we're back to where we should have
been forty some days ago. And so what's happened is
(02:58):
we're reopened. We did pass well. The one positive thing
is that there were the three parts of the federal
budget that were also passed. So that's good of the twelve,
so that that that's productive. But I will also say
I have some objections to some of the things that
were put into the reopening bill by by the by
(03:18):
my Republican colleagues over there. I think there were I
really object to the language that was added in there
that had to do with the the lawsuit, language about
the records and so forth. I think that should have
been vetted more care more more carefully and gone through
an open committee process. And the language that they inserted
(03:39):
in there about about hemp products, which is just it
didn't get through a normal process. It didn't. It doesn't
make sense the way it was done. And you have
a lot of folks who have varying disabilities and so
forth who use hemp products and successfully who have been
able to get off of opioids and other things. And
(04:01):
in the in the fact that it was just thrown
into the the reopening bill the way it was, you know,
I didn't like that. I mean, but I wasn't gonna
you know, we were kind of jammed up. I mean,
I wasn't going to vote to not reopen the government
over those things. But but I'm committed to seeing that
we address both of those issues in subsequent legislation. But
at the end of the day, you know, was it
(04:22):
a win for Republicans. Maybe it was more importantly it
was a win for the American people. Because I think
the message has been received by by the Democrats, and
I hope they I hope they don't have a short memory,
and that is that you can't play around with these
shutdowns to try to force policy or is going to
come back and bite you into tall.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Speaking with Congressman Tim more So, Congressmen, you know the
Customs and Border Protection, they're coming to Charlotte. Some of
them may have already arrived in Charlotte. What are your
thoughts about them coming to Charlotte? Are you in favor
of it?
Speaker 3 (04:52):
I am in favor of Border Patrol and any other
law enforcement agency that is coming to our community to
make sure that the laws are enforced full stop. And
you know, I appreciate the efforts of Homeland Security of DHS,
I mean the agencies they are under because they have
(05:14):
a very important job. And what the folks on the
left have just a lot of it, Not all of them,
but a lot of them have lost their ever loving
minds when it comes to how they are approaching law enforcement.
I mean, bi, let's bear mind breadth. This is the
same crowd that was embracing at one time the whole
(05:35):
defund the police and this ridiculous, stupid rhetoric that a
lot of them on the left are using where they're
calling like police officers Nazis and all this ridiculous stuff.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
It is.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
It is outrageous, it is wrong, and it has led
in several cases that have been covered in the media
around the country to acts of violence against law enforcement officials.
And the thing I looked at when when you get
these these leftists that get here talking about this, I mean,
who the hell are they going to call when somebody
breaks in their house? A social worker? I mean, I mean,
(06:09):
what are they It makes no sense. We have to
have a society that follows laws because guess what, there
are criminals out there and we need to be doing
all we can to support our law enforcement. And you
know what, when it comes to border patrol, when it
comes to any other agency, all they're doing is enforcing
(06:30):
the laws. If people don't like the laws, they find
change the law. That's that's that's how the process works.
But you don't go out there and attack physically or
otherwise the men and women in law enforcement who are
simply enforcing the laws that are on the books. And look,
when it comes to immigration, I mean, the big reason
that we're having so many problems was that for four years,
(06:53):
Joe Biden or whoever was actually in charge during that time,
just through the door open and allowed anybody in everybody
to walk through the border. Allowed you know, some record
amount of drugs to come through the border, killing Americans
every day, allowed criminal gangs, activities, you know, human trafficking,
(07:16):
all of these things to just become rampant. And it's ridiculous,
and thank god President Trump has adopted policies to try
to clean up this mess. So the reason that we
have to have, folks, you know, have law enforcement like
Border patrol and other agencies traveling around is to clean
up this mess that was made for the last four
(07:37):
years where people were allowed in the country, criminals were
allowed in the country who should have never been here
in the first place. So, you know, and there's a
lot more can be said about that than we have
time to talk about. But at the end of the day, yes,
I fully support Border patrol and our other law enforcement
agencies being here in our community making it safer.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Is there anything else that you'd like to say to
the listeners.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Well, number one, I think the listeners pay attention to
what's going on, Listen to what people see as excuseually,
listen to what people say, and look at what they do,
and this example here of how folks are responding to
the men and women of law and law enforcement should
say a lot. And if you looked at how and
you've had me on here before. And I try not
(08:24):
to be overly partisan because guess what I've You know,
my district's not one hundred percent Republican, right and I
take care of Republicans as well as Democrats, independence, who needs,
who need issues, And I hate, I hate it when
I come off sound and partisan, But my gosh, Brett,
I mean the last, the last since January, I've told
(08:45):
this is what I've told a number of folks. I
think there are a number of folks, a number of
a lot of Democrats, particularly those in the far left,
who literally hate Donald Trump more than they love their
own country. And that is a dangerous bad spot for
someone to be. And I hope that your listeners listen
(09:05):
to what people say, look at what they do. And
when you see folks out there who are doing things
to run down our country, to undermine safety and security
and law and order because they have a political beef
with who the president is, call them out, hold them accountable,
say hey, that's wrong. And I think of enough, people
(09:27):
of goodwill and honesty and integrity of both parties speak
up to the extremists who are out there. You'll eventually
see those voices stop with this mess, and maybe people
kind of get a reset and maybe some common sense
will come back in it.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Congressman ten More, I truly appreciate your time tonight.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Great to be with you, sir.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Once again, thanks to Congressman Tim More for joining us
today on such a busy, busy Friday. When we return,
there are more press conferences being held uptown trying to
protect criminals like I don't mean people that just cross
the border, I mean actual criminals.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
So we'll talk about that when we return.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
And also, by the way, our lawsuits getting ready to
be filed by the White House against someone here in Charlotte,
we'll talk about that as well. But right now, let'sening
on over to the WBT Traffic Center with Pam Warner.
Welcome back to Breaking with Brett Jensen on this Friday night. Okay,
so Vililes, the mayor, we all know how she has
(10:26):
just stepped in it seventy five different ways to Sunday.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Ever since August twenty second and the slaying.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
Of Arena Zeruzka, the murder of Arena Zeruzka, Right, And
how it took her four days to put out a
statement about the Arena Zaruska murder and only sixteen words
referenced to Arena Zaruska but never mentioned her name, and
the rest of it was purely about sympathy for the
person that did the killing. And then a few days
(10:55):
later after she was just chastised globally, and I mean
news organizations from around the world were calling her out
by name and just ripping her sideways. And then she
put out another statement which didn't go very well, and
then she had to put out a third statement to
try and correct the first two statements. Well, then, don't
forget also that she had not put out a statement
(11:17):
about the mass shooting that took place at the end
of June early July in Uptown, Right.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
And the only.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Reason she only finally spoke about it was because I
asked her about it while she was falling for reelection.
And when she said, cut us some slack, I was
in Washington, DC with my grand babies.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Cut us some slack Ian. Are you serious right now?
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Did anyone cut those people slack that were involved in
that mass shooting in uptown. Oh no, but hey, but
cut them sight because you were with your grand babies.
Because again I forgot telephones and emails do not work
in Washington, d C. To Charlotte. I forgot about that. Well,
then she came out with a statement the other day.
I think it was well Wednesday or whatever it was
(11:59):
about Yeah, I think it was Wednesday about border protection
coming to Charlotte, which was you can clearly have the
signs that show right there in her statement generated via AI,
and like I said, oh yeah, because there are telltale signs,
and I went, well, considering the statements that her staff
put out last time, no wondering she's doing AI.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
But it just shows you how bright some of the
staff may or may not.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Be, because they didn't realize that what are the dead
giveaways for using AI?
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Unbelievable. So now she's put out another statement.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
And so just so you know, she's put out two
statements in about forty eight hours. How long did it
take her to put out one statement about Arena Zarunska
or the mass shooting?
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Like that tells you where she is.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
And by the way, I'm hearing a lot of things
from a lot of Democrats, especially even on City Council,
about violals and her mental acumen right now, like I
have her mental ability. There's a lot of things going
on there right now now that I'm hearing, and you know,
during the primary, don't forget, you know, one of the
challengers said that she is Charlotte's version of Joe Biden,
and that was coming from a hardcore Democrat. Charlotte's version
(13:11):
of Joe Biden. There's a lot of things going on
right now that you're starting to hear, and even city
council members and again there's only one Republican, will two
now for about another month, and then Edwin Peacock will
go away and another person will take their place. But
my point is is that it's there.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Will be one Republican.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
But Democrats on the City Council are already going, hmm,
are we going to have another Ellis Scarborough on her hands?
Like I'm being sincere when I say that, I'm not
even trying to be mean. I'm letting you know this
is a real concern even among Democrats.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
I mean the fact that even back in July, one.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Of her challengers said she is Charlotte's version of Joe Biden, do.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
Yourself a favor.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Go back to like a couple of mondays ago and
just watch the city council meeting. And she forgets to
take votes. She forgets a lot of things. And and
I can tell you the Democrats on the city Council,
at least some of them, are starting to get very
concerned about the mayor.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
And again maybe they're just trying to hide her.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
I don't know, but you know from the public because
of this. I don't know, but we literally just went
through four years of this with Joe Biden. And before
that we had this with Elliscarborough, where supposedly her daughter
was actually doing the votes for her remotely, just so
that Ella could keep cashing a check from the county
(14:30):
for what forty six thousand dollars a year, forty five,
forty eight, whatever it is, forty four somewhere in the
mid forties that they get paid. Like, there were all
these wild accusations flying around about Ellis Garborough and her
family and everything else. And then we had Joe Biden,
and now are we going to have that with Mayor
val Laws. I don't know, but there are a lot
of whispers, a lot of loud whispers going on about
(14:54):
the mayor a lot actually, and guess what the whispers
are coming from the Democrats, not Republicans, but.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
Anyways, but that's where we are.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
That's where we are right now in a city of Charlotte,
and things are not going well right now for the
Queen City.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
They are not. Things have not been going well.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
I mean, they just elected one of you know, a
socialist slash communist, whatever you want to say, to the
city council, so that person will be taking over on
Charlotte City Council. And like the Mondamie effect is now
starting to happen in Charlotte. And you think I'm kidding,
I am being dead serious when I say that, Like
(15:32):
that's that's what everyone says. Oh, they brought in a socialist,
a communist like they and welcome to Charlotte.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
I say this all the time.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
With each passing day and each passing week, in each
passing month, we are becoming more and more like Baltimore, Memphis,
New Orleans, Atlanta, Saint Louis, and Detroit. Every single day,
every single day. Look at the politicians that are being elected,
and that's all you gotta do. And then look at
Krinn Mac, the head of the NAACP, who you'll hear
(16:04):
from her later on the next segment, just just spewing
pure unadulterated hatred and just flat out lies, flat out
lies about President Trump. And we're gonna play it out later.
And I'm kind of hoping there's gonna be a lawsuit.
Actually I am hoping there's not even kind of I'm
hoping there's a big lawsuit. I hope there's like a
(16:27):
twenty million dollar lawsuit coming against her. I truly do.
And the NAACP needs to remove her immediately. The NAACP, look,
for my entire life, it stood for doing things the
right way, doing things and standing up for the right
things and doing things the right way. Not what karenn
Mac's doing. And you'll hear her coming up next segment
(16:49):
is it's unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
I wish I actually I take the back. It's not unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
This is totally almost what I expect now, totally what
I expect now, So it is actually very believable.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
All right.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
When we come back, you will hear the audio clip
of Krinn Mac, the head of the Charlotte NAACP, where
she just views hatred.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
She spews lies, and I mean I mean.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Factual lies, actual factual lies, not like opinionated lies, like
factual lies, and she throws all that out there.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
And we're also going to hear a little bit more
about you know, what to.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Expect with border patrol or I should say border protection
coming to Charlotte. So a lot of that coming up
when we return, and it's also Panther Friday. But right
now we're going to swing on over to the WBT
newsroom with Anna Erickson. Welcome back to Breaking with Brett
Jensen on this very active Friday night, seven oh four five,
seven eleven ten. And again that is also the WBT
text line, which is driven by Liberty Buick and gmc okay.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
So, look, the Border Protection.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
They're coming to town, some of them may already be
in town, and there's a lot going on, and it's
amazing how the Hispanic community is freaking out, not just
this Hispanic community.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
But it's also like core Democrats.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
And what I mean by amazing, well, part of course
they would be freaking out they're where they're going to
be deported. Well, I mean, here's the thing, and I
talked about this earlier in the week. Is there any
reason that if I go steal Lini's TVs that I
shouldn't be worried. Of course, I should be worried that
the cops are going to knock on my front door.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Because I did things illegal.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Coming to this country is illegal, but you know what's
even worse is coming to this country illegal and then
committing illegal acts like robbery, assault, drugs, sex, trafficking, whatever.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
So that's even worse.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
And so the fact that border protection was to get
the worst of the worst out of the country and
people are upset about all our communities, well, nothing portrays
that more than this report.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
That WBTV did. WBTV did fine in the reporting.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
It's the people that they're interviewing that are having like
a like, oh no, oh no, what will happen to us?
Speaker 1 (18:54):
What will happen to us?
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Like, So listen to this report, and I've got thoughts
about this, and then coming up shortly, in just a
couple of minutes, I will tell you about there may
be lawsuits actually followed after a press conference that took
place at the Government Center today, and the lawsuit may
actually be coming from Donald Trump.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
But we'll talk about that.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
But first, here's the report and actually a very solid
report done by WBTV.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
Delbert Jones continues our team coverage and he's joining us
live from uptown Charlotte after having conversations with advocates for
Latin American neighbors.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
What did you learn, Dalfred.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Well John Community Partners I spoke with this afternoon, tell
me this is a frightening situation for a marginalized community
that has frankly been on a high alert since the
new administration took office at the beginning of this year.
Speaker 5 (19:42):
Much of the community is concerned right now. I'm wondering
what's going to happen here in Charlotte. With news breaking
of Border Patrol agents on their way to Charlotte. Local
nonprofits are already teaming up to be proactive and organizing
ahead of the arrival of federal agents, who, according to
the Sheriff's Office, are expected to land in the greater
Charlotte area by Saturday or the early part of next week.
(20:03):
We're working on things like talking to elected officials to
make sure that policies are being enacted that will protect
our community.
Speaker 4 (20:10):
Hector Vodka with Action in c has a message for
anyone who may be on edge before border patrol agents
hit city streets.
Speaker 5 (20:18):
It's understandable that our community is concerned right now, that
people are nervous. The biggest thing I could say is
stay calm, Stay calm, understand your rights, and educate your
family members. Take care of your family members, because we
are all in this together, and only together can we
get through this.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
Allies for the Latino Community Camino, an organization offering a
wide range of services to our Latin neighbors, says since
President Trump took office at the start of the year,
they've seen an increase in fear of being detained and
a decrease in patients showing up for doctor's appointments.
Speaker 6 (20:54):
Interestingly enough, however, while there was a decrease in patient services,
we did see an increase in our church.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
With border patrol agents en route. Garcia says, it might
be time to have tough conversations with family and make
sure you have a plan in place.
Speaker 6 (21:09):
And if you are blessed enough to know a lawyer
or to have a lawyer in your family or a
group of friends, have a what's Up group with that
lawyer in that group and your closest friends and family
and have that what's Up group ready to be activated
if you were to ever be approached by an agent
to which you would then know what would happen next
if you are in that specific position.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
Now, Garcia tells me they're not against criminals being taken,
but they do hope that can be done without force,
intimidation or threats. Live Uptown, Charlotte Dalford Jones, WBTV on
your side.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Again, thanks to WBTV for that report, and again it
was a fine report on what they did.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
The reporter did a really nice job.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
But the fact that people in the Hispanic community are
freaking out. Look, they're not looking for grandma. They're only
going to take grandma if grandma is harboring a criminal,
like an actual criminal, not an illegal immigrant criminal, but
like a criminal criminal, someone who's been here in committed crimes.
And so again that's this is the problem. Are you
(22:14):
trying to protect the criminals? Is that what you're worried about?
My next question is are you here legally? Are you
here legally? Are you voting?
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Because you should not be voting.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
And we found that out with the DMV today about
signing people up to vote who aren't here legally. In
North Carolina, DMV specifically we found that out. I guess
maybe yesterday, but like that's the thing. And now you
have the NAACP KARENN. Mac who's the head of the
Charlotte chapter for the NAACP. And I truly, truly, truly
(22:44):
find this woman reprehensible. She's in my opinion, in my opinion,
she is a race baider. And also in my opinion,
she's not very smarts. I truly believe she's not very bright.
And I also think she's a massive race baider. And
I also tend to believe that she's actually racist, that
she hates anything that's not black. I truly believe that.
(23:06):
And so anyways, she had a press conference earlier today.
A lot of people did up there. They're going to
be having protests tomorrow about border patrol or border protection
being in Charlotte. But here's Karen mac headed this Charlotte
chapter of the NAACP, earlier today. And this is such
a thirty second clip because this is all I could
stomach to let you hear.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
But this is Karinn Mack earlier today.
Speaker 7 (23:29):
We have a little man sitting in sixteen hundred Pennsylvania
Avenue who really believes that Hitler was the greatest man
ever on earth, whose whole vision is to be just
like Hitler and trying to create a nineteen forties Germany
right here in the United States. And like then, many
(23:54):
people said, well, it's them, it's not me.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
I told you, I wasn't kidding. I mean this woman.
I just find her absolutely vile.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
It's people like her that are the reason why race
relations do not get better, like always, race baiting, race baiting,
race baiting, like it's unbelievable to me. But I, more
than anything in this world, more than anything in this world,
I hope somehow that video clip or that audio clip
finds its way to the White House and Donald Trump
(24:25):
can file another lawsuit with this one being defamation or whatever, lible, slander, whatever,
but definitely defamation at the very least. Why because she
stated it as fat. She stated it as fat, not
as an opinion, not as a belief, but as fat.
And you cannot do that.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
And we have seen Donald Trump start suing people, and guess.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
What, I hope he sues her blind like where she
ends up in the poorhouse. I truly dislike this woman,
I truly do, and mainly because I find her to
be a horrific race, Baiter, I truly do.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Okay, look enough of all this, like.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
We need to send you off into the weekend on
something completely different that has nothing to do with all
this craziness going in and around Charlotte.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
As by the way, how many.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
Times have I told you over the last three and
a half years that Charlotte is becoming Atlanta, New Orleans, Memphis,
Saint Louis, Baltimore, and Detroit. How many times have I
told you that? I don't know, a couple hundreds, because
it's true, and now you see it. But nonetheless, nonetheless,
when we come back, let's talk about the Carolina Panthers.
They're five and five. They have a road game this
(25:36):
weekend at Atlanta with a chance to win. We'll talk
about that when we come back. Try to take our
mind off of the craziness going on in Charlotte. All right,
With all that being said, let's sing on over to
the WBT Traffic Center with Pam Warner.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
All Right, welcome back.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
To Breaking with Brett Jensen on this Friday night for
a few more minutes. And look, I know this week
has been crazy, and border protection is coming to town
and everything else. I get it. It's been a wild,
wild week. But so let's end on a positive note.
The Panthers right now, five wins and five losses, Okay,
not bad considering where they've been over the last seven years,
not bad at all. They have the Atlanta Falcons. Last
(26:15):
time they played the Atlanta Falcons was here in Charlotte.
They beat him thirty to nothing. This time it's in Atlanta.
Bryce Young, he has not played well a lot of
times this year. Actually most of the time this year
he has not played well. He's played well in Spurts. Well,
you know, I figured, let's hear what Bryce Young has
to say about going to Atlanta and coming off that
horrific game against New Orleans that was inexcusable. So what
(26:37):
did he learn about New Orleans and what does he
expect to happen going into Atlanta.
Speaker 7 (26:42):
Tack out to you as you you know, finally had
some time to go back and look at Sunday's game
on film.
Speaker 8 (26:47):
Oh yeah, just some just lack an execution, you know,
looking back as a unit, you know, plays left out
there stuff that you.
Speaker 9 (26:54):
Know, we just have to do a better job of executing.
Speaker 8 (26:57):
Again, we give credit to them, we execute better than
we did, uh, but the pages turn again. It's all
about Atlanta this week. It's all about the Falcons. So
we've learned from that. We're excited for the plan and
we're excired for the opportunity to have a week of work,
put a put a week together and then give ourselves
the best chance to have success on Sunday.
Speaker 10 (27:15):
You guys, able to do last time against them obviously
is a big way in against the Falcons. What can
you what can you learn from that one?
Speaker 9 (27:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (27:23):
You know, first off, you gotta turn the page. You
know that that doesn't entail you to anything. There's uh,
you know, there's no core, no correlation. You know, we
have to go in there again. It's gonna start zero
zero no matter what. And we have a ton of
respect for them. We know then we'll obviously the vision opponents,
so you know, you want to learn from stuff. Know
that obviously they're gonna make adjustments. We're gonna make adjustments.
There's gonna be a different look. So obviously watch the
(27:44):
film and watch they've been doing and then you're, uh,
you have a plan, then you're ready to to react
as the game goes.
Speaker 11 (27:49):
So you guys have been good at bouncing back from
like bad bosses or whatever. How how much does that
refocus you, if at all, and sort of make you
sort of recent?
Speaker 8 (28:01):
Yeah, you know, Coach talks about it all the time.
Just just find opportunities to refocus. He talks about that
and the media on game days, after plays, after series
and then you know, after games, after weeks, so that
that's been a theme for us again, after good after bad,
whatever it is. Uh, we put emphasis on on refocusing,
making sure that we you know, we get lost in
(28:21):
the work. You know, we we were processed oriented. So
you know that's that's the battle right now, and you
know we're excited to have the opportunity.
Speaker 12 (28:28):
Remember any common threads after Buffalo or after New England.
Speaker 8 (28:34):
No, nothing, nothing that was There's no magic uh, no
magic speech, nothing different. Uh. You know, Coach does a
great job of being consistent with our with how he
is and the schedule he he has us do and
everything like that. So we know what to expect, We
know the work it takes. It's it's just about get
into it.
Speaker 13 (28:53):
Talking on the same topic of refocusing, a lot was
made about the team not perhaps not having the most
focused practicing last week. How do you think the group
responded at least today Wednesday.
Speaker 9 (29:07):
You know, it's good day of practice to day.
Speaker 8 (29:09):
We're all competitors, we all want to make sure we
understand how much practice correlates. We want to make sure
we give ourselves the best chance. We have that mindset
every week is not any different this week, so you know,
good start. You know again we're in our work Wednesday,
flow in tempo and you know we're we're doing all
we can to get the best out of that small
will be a big day. You know, we had to
(29:29):
go all that stuff, same routine, So good start. We
have to long week ahead of us, so we have
to keep capturing it.
Speaker 10 (29:35):
On that topic. And as a leader on this team,
did you take it upon yourself to address the guys
to sort of like, hey, let's have a little more
focus this week or anything.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Along those lines.
Speaker 9 (29:45):
Yeah, there was, there was talks.
Speaker 8 (29:47):
We'll keep that in the house, but you know, their
their discussions and again for us, it's it's a new week.
The page is turned. You know, we're all excited for
this week. We're excited for this opportunity to work, Excited
to go to go to Atlanta Division opponent against a
team we respect. So yeah, we're we're excited for.
Speaker 10 (30:02):
What to Just to clarify, were those talks last week
or to start practice this week?
Speaker 8 (30:07):
You know we've we we had talks. You know, just
keep it in house.
Speaker 7 (30:11):
What can you guys do to get the more explosive
plays going?
Speaker 9 (30:16):
Outside of execution?
Speaker 4 (30:17):
I know that's one thing, But is it that they
aren't being called?
Speaker 3 (30:20):
Is it that that you want to throwing the ball?
Speaker 7 (30:23):
What's what's why has that been elusive.
Speaker 13 (30:25):
For this offense?
Speaker 9 (30:26):
No, it's just it's just a group thing. You know.
Speaker 8 (30:29):
Obviously you want to be diligent about you know, sticking
to the plan and then you know, we just have
to take advantage of opportunities when they come. You know,
they're uh when you watch watch the tape, and you
know obviously we all watch a lot of film just
from watch the opponent. They come in different ways, they
all all come in different different sides. So we just
have to be ready for that opportunity. You know, no
finger pointing. We all look in the mirror. We all
want to be accountable. Obviously, stuff like that can can
(30:50):
help us. So it's just being opportunistic and executing. You know,
you didn't want me to bring it back, but I did.
Speaker 9 (30:57):
I think both of those are important capability fronting.
Speaker 12 (31:00):
J C was very critical of himself post games Sunday
and he said he told the defense that it was
on him understanding it's not you, not your side of
the ball. But what does it do knowing that type
of accountability, that type of leadership is on that defensive side.
Speaker 9 (31:14):
Yeah, I mean one is not surprising at all.
Speaker 8 (31:17):
Again, you know, we j C has been you know,
he's huge for us obviously on the field, but outside
of that as a leader, you know, he's always doing
the right things, always working hard, he's super vocal, So
you know, from from a defense knowing that again, they're
always you know, they'll they'll come back, you know, And
it's been been It's never been ever since I've been here.
Speaker 9 (31:35):
It's been the same way.
Speaker 8 (31:36):
You know, they'll be the first to tell you no
matter what, we they'll take accountability.
Speaker 9 (31:39):
We're the same way as offense. You know, we want
to all be accountable.
Speaker 8 (31:42):
So I'm grateful to to have a group of guys
around me that they look in the mirror. First, they
want to get better, they want to you know, there's
no ego. Everyone wants to do whatever they can individually
and then within their their room, and then as a unit,
then as a team, just to have success.
Speaker 9 (31:54):
So I'm grateful to be in an environment like that.
Speaker 10 (31:56):
You're returning to the site of arguably your best game
as a How much fun was that we eighteen last year?
Speaker 8 (32:03):
I don't know it was last year. So this year
it's whatever was week eleven. This year it's week eleven
and words zero zero. Right now it's Wednesday, and we're
about to watch the practice tape of practice today.
Speaker 9 (32:16):
So that's that's all I'm at.
Speaker 10 (32:18):
There are things you can take from that performance personally
and as an offense that could help you this week
and this year.
Speaker 8 (32:26):
Different coordinator, different system, different different things. You know, they've
had changes. Again, we deep enough in the year where
we you know, yours your stuff, you watch, But right
now again you you watch this year's stuff, you watch
other plan I always have confidence in my team, was
constant myself. You know, that's not something I need to
lean on something else for. And what's tangible is this week.
(32:49):
So that's all that matters.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
It's going to be interesting to see how they perform
on the road against Atlanta. You know, Atlanta has been
even more schizophrenic than the Carolina Panthers. Three wins and
six losses for Atlanta, five wins and five losses for
the Carolina Panthers. So let's see what happens with that,
all right. So look again, thanks to everyone who listened
this week. And we've had a busy, busy week this week,
(33:12):
and it's going to be even busier next week with
border patrol being in town either this weekend or at
the start of early next week. So we've got a
lot of things scheduled up for next week that we'll
be giving to you, all right, So make sure you
stick to stay tuned or stick around or stay tuned
for that, all right.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
Everyone that's going to do it for me tonight.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Again, thanks to everyone who joined us, including Congressman Tim Moore.
My name is Brett Jensen, and you have been listening
to Breaking with Brett Jensen.
