I glorify you, I magnify you, and I adore you. Lord,
help us to walk in love today, not anger, not frustration.
Help us to walk in love, even if love pushes
(01:45):
us to do the hard things. If love causes us
to help someone who needs it, Lord, if love causes
us to speak up for someone who can't speak up
for themselves, or let us operate in love today, the
power of love be ours in the name of Jesus. Lord,
consume us with your love, fell us, and fuel us
with your love, and help us to love others. Lord Jesus,
that's what your word tells us to do, is to
(02:06):
love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Teach us to love. Lord,
teach us to give love and receive love. And your
mighty name, I pray covers with your blood. Keep us
safe from our herd harm and danger. Keeps your arms
of protection around us. Keep us from all incidents and accidents.
God be mighty and amazing, just like you are in
your name. I pray thank God, Amen, Amen, Man. Great

Speaker 2 (06:35):
You're listening to get up with Erica camb faith walking
right now, hey man, new faith walk.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
Yes, it is time for the faith Walk of the day.
And I'm sure you've heard Matthew twenty eight nineteen. Just
go there for and make disciples of all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit. I want to talk
about going. What does that mean to go into the
world and make disciples? Go ye therefore, and make disciples
(07:07):
of all nations. Right, that's all cultures, all countries, all states,
all regions make disciples.
Speaker 6 (07:15):
Are we making disciples?
Speaker 5 (07:17):
Are we walking with people through life until they learn
how to be a disciple of Christ, learn how to
live out their life as a believer?
Speaker 6 (07:26):
Are we making.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
Disciples or are we just going to church together? Are
we having conversation? Are we teaching? Are we mentoring? Are
we counseling and correcting? Are we listening? And are we
growing even ourselves? If God called us to do something,
it is not an option, you know, it is not
an option to go and share the gospel. A lot
of people, you know, frequently asks we do Bible studies
(07:48):
at Cali Worship on Wednesday, and we do a Q
and A and people are always asking, you know, I'm
just trying to find my purpose. I'm just trying to
figure out what God wants me to do. And Mom
always like, did you pick up the book? Because the
book tells us what to do? Right, We're all supposed
to love. We're all supposed to love God right as
we love ourselves and make disciples and go tell the
world about Jesus.
Speaker 6 (08:09):
Does your church have discipleship programs?
Speaker 5 (08:11):
Are you discipling the kids in your family, the adults
in your family that are new to faith? You know,
because everybody didn't grow up in church, and some people
are new to the faith and they need to be discipled.
Speaker 6 (08:21):
What does that mean? Walking through life? Doing life with people?
Speaker 5 (08:25):
Doing life together means how you celebrate, how you pray,
how you grow your kids, your marriage, your work. Are
you doing life together so you have wisdom around you,
You've connectivity around you so you don't feel by yourself.
And even when God told them to make disciples, he
sent them out in groups.
Speaker 6 (08:41):
He didn't just send them out individuals.
Speaker 5 (08:43):
Individually, right, because doing life with someone makes things just
a little bit easier. So are you are you discipling anyone?
Are you a disciple yourself? Are you learning and growing
in faith? Are you sharing them with somebody?
Speaker 8 (08:55):
You know?
Speaker 5 (08:55):
The tendency to say they should know better, the tendency
to say why they doing that? That don't make no sense.
It is pretty rampant in our world. And I won't
even say black people. I think a lot of people.
Do you know better? You should be doing dot dot dot?
Speaker 6 (09:09):
Well? Have they been discipled? Have they been taught? Have
they learned it?
Speaker 5 (09:12):
Or do you think they're just automatically supposed to know.
That's why I always challenge people when I when they
say they know better?
Speaker 7 (09:19):
Are go?
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Do they?
Speaker 6 (09:20):
Did they say I'm a wake up and do the
wrong thing?
Speaker 5 (09:22):
Or did Maybe they weren't disciples, Maybe they weren't taught,
Maybe they don't want know that scripture.
Speaker 6 (09:26):
Maybe they don't know that particular church culture. Why is
she dressed like that? You don't know where a lady
come from? Disciple her, teach her, love her down, don't
beat her up? You know why?
Speaker 10 (09:37):
Now?
Speaker 5 (09:37):
Why he don't hate no better? Maybe he don't. Are
we just say it's just go and make disciples? Are
you getting up out of your seat at your church,
your comfortable spot where you sit every Sunday? Are you
making disciples? Who are you preparing for this next generation?
Who are you preparing that is behind you, that needs
to keep going after you are here no more. Let's
make disciples, guys. That's our job. That's what the Bible
(09:57):
tells us to do. So let's do that, all right.
That's my faith walk for the day. Love you and
I meet it now. It's birthday shout out time eight

Anne Ashley, who is no longer a mystery bride, you know,
the dear future WIFEI podcast he proposed and didn't show
her until the actual wedding day, since I was blessed
to be there and give them a birthday, not a birthday,
a wedding, blessing.
Speaker 6 (15:06):
And it was really really great. The room was full
with the probably all.

I had a chance to kick it with her on
the time the cruise and we was taking pictures and
she was like, oh, we can't we got we can't
take pictures right now, right, So me and lttaires took
a picture of their arms with Nico and her behind.
Speaker 8 (15:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:32):
It was very fun so funny. Tasha Cobbs Leonard and
Nona Jones and just when you know the girl that
got married she was I love her, Yes, most of
her friend single I met for her husband.
Speaker 6 (15:46):
It was super great.
Speaker 7 (15:48):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
We had church on Sunday. We did our turkey giveaway Saturday. Uh,
and then I decided to be superwoman and cook a
roast mac and cheese, black eyed peas and greens, a
sweep of Tanta cheesecake and corn bread.
Speaker 6 (16:05):
Yait a minute? So yeah, we had a good time Sunday.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
I don't know why I was trying to be super
superwoman and we had two services and I had to
thank you coming.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
Right and Thanksgiving coming up? What is wrong? Would be
all right?
Speaker 5 (16:16):
We don't know if I'm a little sleepy today because
I did a whole lot this weekend.
Speaker 6 (16:21):
What about you, griff Man?
Speaker 7 (16:23):
I had a really this is the first weekend I've
been working in a long time, and I loved it.
I wanted to go see Wicked Part two with my
wife day night on Friday. That was amazing. Then Saturday,
La Niga made the whole house of Winter Wonderland.
Speaker 8 (16:37):
How about that?
Speaker 7 (16:38):
As we skipped the slaughter another Native Americans to go
straight to.
Speaker 8 (16:42):
Baby Jesus Birthday and my house due.
Speaker 7 (16:45):
My little brother Diz came over to kick it with me.
Yesterday we watched the Raiders get destroyed by the Cleveland
cavaliers and we laughed like we was watching Delirious Eddie
Murphy the whole time.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
About you man.
Speaker 6 (17:00):
It was a full weekend for me as well.
Speaker 5 (17:03):
Had to be a part of HBCU Honors on Thursday,
hosting the Red Carpet there and it was good. They
honored Shirley Caesar and of course we'll talk to Kim
Whitley a little bit about that this week because it
airs coming up on Saturday.
Speaker 6 (17:18):
And then Friday I went to a CD release.
Speaker 5 (17:22):
Local artist and friend I call him one of my
nephews is griff was one of.
Speaker 6 (17:25):
The Yeah, William McMillan.
Speaker 5 (17:27):
His music is amazing and so he released a record
on Friday, so stopped by there. And then Saturday morning
I had to host an award ceremony called Hebrews six
and ten. It was award ceremony where they just honored
some notable men and women in their organization and just
you know, most of them were seasoned in older saints
(17:50):
like presiding bishops and things and people who don't normally
get loved by the folk around them. And that was
hosted by Bishop Ronald Brown Junior and Brother Reggie Niner.
If you know Reggie, he's Pastor John p Key's partner
and business partner and that is oh yeah, so John
and so John pe Key was our special guest, and
(18:11):
of course he came in true John pe Key style,
giving away. He he does portraits now, so he's been
intentional about portraits of people that are like icons to him.
And one of the bishops that was being honored was
that to him like a spiritual father. So he presented
that painting to them and it was like, so absolutely.
Speaker 7 (18:32):
Beautiful, go ahead. I was just saying, he's doing it
from his iPad. So he takes a picture and then
he has this program that lets him paint and airbrush,
and he was showing me how he does it last week.
Is really kind of cool. Actually gets a printed and
it's dope. It was beautiful him so much.
Speaker 5 (18:51):
I'm surprised Reggie with an honor as well. Reggie was
just falling. It was so good. It was just a
good time.
Speaker 6 (18:57):
So it's a busy week.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
I'm very very busy. You know you were here at
right listen. I can't wait for the ERM. I had
a big meeting and somebody's trying to figure out how
to get money to some folks.
Speaker 6 (19:10):
I'm gonna tell you who it is up next. I'm
Get Up Morning.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
If you're listening to Get.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Up Erica camp Real of the Day or Get Up
Mornings with Erica Campbo.
Speaker 6 (19:29):
Yes it is time for the Erica Ism.
Speaker 5 (19:31):
And I was blessed over the weekend to be invited
to a really, really important meeting a lot of executives,
some of the top in the world. And I was
surprised that I was there, but also honored, but I
definitely embraced being in the room and that I belonged
there as well. It was actually some people trying to
(19:52):
figure out how to help how to help some folks
uh do better in life, how to financially help people.
And so you you know, I'm used to people going,
we won't have a concert to raise some money. We
won't raise ten dound dollars. I was like, you're going
to spend about fifty on the concert alone. So people
sometimes don't understand how those numbers work out, and I've
seen that many many times.
Speaker 6 (20:12):
But this this was not that. This was somebody who said.
Speaker 5 (20:18):
They wanted to give in one year ten billion with
a B dollars, And so they were just asking the
opinions of these beautiful.
Speaker 6 (20:30):
Women to how to help.
Speaker 5 (20:33):
And so you know, in the nonprofit world, it is
a lot, lot a lot of money that gets passed
around from foundation to foundation, foundation to foundation, celebrity to
influencers and stuff like that, and sometimes it does not
make it to people's kitchen table. And that was my
suggestion that a lot of times people don't trust it
(20:54):
because while a catastrophe can happen in a certain country
and you have all your organization or organizations we're raising money,
sometimes that money never.
Speaker 6 (21:03):
Makes it to the people.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
The whole conversation was how to make the money get
to the people, because you know, yes, it takes money
to run the organizations and the corporations and things like that.
Speaker 6 (21:15):
But if you are if.
Speaker 5 (21:18):
You're saying that we help the people, then actually get
the money to the people. I'm not going to mention
any corporations, but you know the ones that are very
loud about raising money after a disaster. But if seventy
five or eighty two percent of your money goes to
executives into the funding of your company, it never gets
to the people.
Speaker 6 (21:36):
And here's what's horrible about that, in my opinion.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
You have people scraping to give to your organization given
their last and they never see anything on their kitchen table.
My prayer today is that these people that are trying
to get money to folks.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
That it actually gets to your kitchen table.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
We know what's happening in this country, and a lot
of people are struggling financially, y'all. But I was so
happy to just hear there are people that are having
meetings strategizing on how to get there, and so I
was honored to be a part of the conversation. And y'all,
as much as I am, I'm really just a regular girl.
I remember being on welfare. I remember Thanksgivings where we
were going to people's houses because we didn't have that
(22:15):
much food. I remember those days. I remember my mom's
selling ear rings and jewelry to pay rent. So I
know what it feels like to not have. So I
don't take those rooms lightly when I go in them. Yes,
I'm blessed now, but this ain't always been my story.
And listen, I'm not so blessed where I just can't
work in the money you'll be there.
Speaker 6 (22:35):
I got to keep working, and so there.
Speaker 5 (22:37):
Are people who have literally billions of dollars, and my
prayer is that the right people get in the room
to direct them there. So what I did was, I said,
find the organizations that are already doing the work.
Speaker 6 (22:48):
You don't have to reinvent the wheel.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
Find these small places that are trusted and in place
in our local cities. Give their organizations money so they
can continue to do the work. You don't know the
people at y'all bless you with the billions. Give it
to the people who can get it to the people

really doing the work, that are trusted, that go out
of their way. Your food banks are open, your doors
are open for women, your your doors are open for
after school programs. Your men's organizations are there offering mental help.
I want to find those people and get the ones
that with that real, real, real, real long.

Speaker 8 (26:12):

Speaker 1 (28:23):
Power to get.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
It's officially the time of year when stores are filled
with holiday decorations and gifts are waiting to be purchased.
With the rise and cost of living and many working
with a limited income, this special time of year can
also be discouraging. Right, our money expert de and I
Thornton is here to help us shop responsibly, even with
the pressure.
Speaker 6 (28:47):
To buy beyond our knees. So don't do it.
Speaker 5 (28:50):
Good morning, TONI welcome back to get a morning.
Speaker 13 (28:53):
Good Morning, Happy monning Monday, to you.
Speaker 6 (28:56):
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (28:57):
We're gonna jump right in for our listeners who've been
laid off or experiencing a loss, this has been an
interesting year. How can they cope and still celebrate this
holiday season? And how can we support them?
Speaker 13 (29:08):
You know, I just appreciate the fact that you're acknowledging
that things are different, and that's okay.
Speaker 7 (29:14):
You know.
Speaker 13 (29:14):
I just we don't need to run from it. We
don't need to pretend, we don't need to hide. If
your situation has changed this year, that's okay, and that's
the truth today. Doesn't mean it's going to be this
way always, but it's very important that we adjust when
things are different, you know, versus resisting it. Let's go
ahead and adjustin Maybe we do need to cut back
(29:35):
and maybe we will be buying less gifts or celebrating less.
Maybe family will mean more. And I think the best
way to support people right now ask them what they need.
I know a lot of times we want to give
people what we want them to have, but how can
we fill the gap with people who are feeling to
stress this holiday season?
Speaker 6 (29:52):
That's so good?
Speaker 5 (29:53):
So how do we buy gifts for our loved ones
who you know, without breaking the bank.
Speaker 13 (29:57):
You know, I don't know why budget is such a
bad but but it doesn't need to be.
Speaker 6 (30:02):
And the reality is know what you.
Speaker 13 (30:05):
Can easily afford. I'm talking about like no stress, what
can you do easily? And what a great time to
have a conversation with your close family and friends to say, hey, y'all,
like we need to move a little different this year,
even if it's your children, if this year needs to
be different. I think if we communicate it the right way,
and I think we can take stress off of everybody.
(30:26):
But budget is your best friend when you are under
stress and.
Speaker 5 (30:30):
The rest mm hmm, I know that's right, and you
don't always have to buy the most expensive things.
Speaker 6 (30:35):
Thoughtful gifts is what I really love all right.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
Giving Tuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is a global day
that encourages people to do good. How can our listeners
participate in Giving Tuesday?
Speaker 13 (30:47):
I want people to work Giving Tuesday into their budget.
You know, there's so much money spent, you know, and
gifts and celebrating, which I think is a wonderful thing
because that's what the holiday season is about. But it's
really important that we add to our budget and we
can make a commitment to the organizations, the churches, what places,
what schools have really impacted you and you want to give,
(31:09):
and giving can be twenty five dollars, it doesn't have
to be two thousand dollars. But just the act of
giving and getting your family engaged in giving is so important.
Speaker 6 (31:18):
I love it all right.
Speaker 5 (31:20):
Finally, what are the best apps and online tools for
saving money on purchases?
Speaker 13 (31:24):
Well, what I've really noticed this following your favorite store
can be very helpful. So please make sure that you
have downloaded their app, that you're following them on social
media because they're definitely going to be posting for sure.
And listen, Black Friday, it's already started. I'm like, ohay, already,
Oh my god, it's been happening all months. And then
(31:46):
if you want some additional apps, you can check out
Fetch and Ibota. Those allow you to get cash back
and points after you upload your receipts. But again, download
your favorite stores.
Speaker 6 (31:56):
Apps for great deals wonderful.
Speaker 5 (31:59):

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Just trying to make it.
Speaker 14 (33:07):
Or do you say something like if I didn't have
bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all. See
studies have shown the life's response to you as you
speak to life. Seeing Ziggler used to say, Hey, I'm
outstanding and getting better, and I say I am blessed
in highly favored.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
That's right. Every day I wake up.
Speaker 14 (33:24):
Without a chalk outline around my body. I am blessed
in highly favored. See to say I'm blessed in highly
favored not only speaks about how I feel today, but
also my expectations for today. So today greed and meet
life with excitement and enthusiasm and great expectation.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
Hey, folks, it's another great.

Speaker 5 (34:27):
Through and I can't acting all right Cheryl, what are
we talking about today?
Speaker 6 (34:33):
All Right?
Speaker 5 (34:34):
So I got this because Ricky Smiley does this comedy bit.
But it's that time of year again, you know, when
we're preparing for our Thanksgiving holidays. And one thing about
our culture is that we're going to find all kinds
of food on our Thanksgiving table. Ricky Smiley did this
comedy bit and he talked about how other people have
Thanksgiving and how we have Thanksgiving in Black culture, and
(34:57):
he said, they'll have turkey stuff in or dressing if
you say it, green bean casserole, rice, mashed potatoes, and
maybe a pumpkin pot and that's it, right. They have
like you know, they're drink or whatever they're they're you know, teas,
he said. But we may have a turkey, but on
our table, it's gonna be blackened and one's gonna be baked,
one's gonna be fried.
Speaker 6 (35:16):
We're gonna have mac and cheese.
Speaker 5 (35:17):
But we also gonna have potato salad, tuna salad, seafood, salad, lasagna.
Speaker 6 (35:21):
We wanna have like all the things on our tab.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
But for real, for real, when you think about it,
you know, for Thanksgiving, and I'm sure the get you know,
our get up church will probably attest. We go a
little out, we a little overboard for some things or Thanksgiving.
So I want to I want to talk about some
of the excessive things, not the traditional turkey and stuffing
and you know, whatever the traditional thing is for Thanksgiving. Boy,
outside of that, what are you having on your Thanksgiving table?
Speaker 6 (35:48):
That's why I want to talk about today.
Speaker 5 (35:49):
I'm probably not having anything too, you know, out of
the ordinary, you know, black eyed peas, green beans, you know,
the usual suspects. My peas is no traditional for Thanksgiving
that I'm always had in my whole life. See, but
I've never had any seafood on Thanksgiving. But that's because
we're on the Eastern Shore. Yeah right, so what about you?
(36:13):
That's crazy to me.
Speaker 7 (36:14):
Yeah, but they're gonna have it because everybody else. See,
I'm not one of those people. I'm I'm happy for everybody.
It's gonna be what's that nasty?
Speaker 8 (36:22):
What else?
Speaker 10 (36:22):
I don't like?
Speaker 7 (36:23):
The j Yeah, it's gonna be that there too, because
I know people love that and that's what they want.
But are our random things? And Lenika makes what's them
little birds?
Speaker 6 (36:36):
Cornish? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (36:42):
These cornish hens, which is about eleven turkeys, like, yeah,
so these little cornish hens and then we'll have tordelini
and lasagna and then probably uh and probably chilly believe.
Speaker 8 (36:56):
It or not, like that was not stuff.
Speaker 5 (37:00):
Whatever we like, we're gonna cook it for Thanksgiving and
it's gonna be on pretty much.
Speaker 10 (37:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
To me, I don't do potato salad and baked beans
because to me, that's like picnic food. That's like, yeah,
I won't die food. I won't do bake. We won't
do baked beans. But potato salad will be on the table.
Potato salad will be mm hm. My mother in law
does a good cold salad, so we may have potato salad,
seafood salad and tune the salad or one do y'all.
Speaker 7 (37:27):
Make the broccoli cheddar, right, the broccoli casserole.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
That's good.
Speaker 6 (37:31):
I don't have it, but it's so good, so.
Speaker 8 (37:33):
Good in the South, Oh my god.
Speaker 6 (37:35):
Yeah, but you need to broccoli. Okay, we hungry. What
is something on your Thanksgiving?
Speaker 14 (37:41):
Being you?
Speaker 6 (37:41):
That's a little different eight seven seven, six to four
to six.
Speaker 14 (37:49):
What's on the mania was GETTF you're listening to get up?
Speaker 1 (37:55):
You've heard from us.
Speaker 4 (37:58):
Because I got through and I can't say get a morning.
Speaker 5 (38:02):
Today we are talking about the excessive things that we
will be doing on Thanksgiving, the eating, the baking, the cooking,
all the things, all the different types of things. So
let's find out from Diane and Virginia. Hey Diane, what's
the excessive thing on your menu this year?
Speaker 6 (38:17):
We have fry yellow plants, but.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
We don't have everywhere.
Speaker 6 (38:22):
That's right. You got to be an island girl or something, right. Yeah,
my parents want to wear Cindy's. Yes, Oh we love that.
Very nice. Thank you for sharing with us this morning.
Speaker 4 (38:32):
Bye, Diane, goodbye, thank you.
Speaker 7 (38:34):
Let's go to the atl where they listen to us

you having that's different on Thanksgiving?
Speaker 3 (38:43):
Yeah, I'm just gonna say we will definitely.
Speaker 8 (38:46):
Have gumbo on the table.
Speaker 6 (38:48):
I don't know if everyone does, but I'm from New Orleans.
Speaker 8 (38:51):
Then the only way we can get a taste of
home is to have that gumboo.
Speaker 6 (38:55):
On That's goad. Very nice. Yeah, we don't usually do
it on Thanksgiving.
Speaker 5 (38:59):
It's more of a New Year's thing for for us
on the West Coast.
Speaker 6 (39:02):
But happy Thanksgiving. Thanks to you.
Speaker 5 (39:05):
Pat in Maryland is on the line, Pat, what is
the excessive thing on your Thanksgiving me?

Speaker 6 (39:17):
Yes, yes, you know how we do there we.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
Go, Thank you, thank you.
Speaker 7 (39:24):
Let's go to Ohio where they're gonna lose the Michigan
this week. Terry, what do you do different on Thanksgiving?
Speaker 10 (39:33):
Oh Age, you know we do uh frown with Balsoma
lays and fried cabbage and onions with Christy bacon.
Speaker 7 (39:46):
That's a nice little side side.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
Thank you for sharing that with me. Listen to Brussels

Hey Marie, tell us what's something that's excessive on your
Thanksgiving menu?
Speaker 4 (40:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 12 (40:10):
Hey, good morning everybody. So in addition to the I
guess the traditional, we have to add the mustad greens
and the smothered oprah and two kinds of dressing cor
borad and race dressing, and.
Speaker 4 (40:22):
We gotta have read bean okay, yeah, and everything else
the yam so I mean the mac and cheese, the
kinds of turkeys like you said, ham two kinds of roads.
Speaker 12 (40:37):
It's really over here. I haven't even gotten to the dessert.
Speaker 8 (40:40):

Here's the lovely CEC. Why does it come Jesus, Come on,
get up morning. Let's talk about for God, so love
the world.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
Love morning.
Speaker 5 (43:11):
Yes, it is time for the love talk of the day,
and today I want to talk about letting go, letting
go of of control, relinquishing control of the people that
you love.
Speaker 6 (43:24):
Listen.
Speaker 5 (43:24):
As a mother, I know what it feels like to
have a kid out in the world, moving around and
in their own place, and the nerves that can come
with that right, which can sometimes make me more protective
of the younger too, because I'm processing the older being gone.
Speaker 6 (43:41):
Now I know the same everybody's story.
Speaker 5 (43:42):
Sometimes your kids be gone and you be like whoa
part of time. But for me it means more prayer.
It means such searching or social media page. But it
also means giving a certain amount of teaching and direction
and guidance to my youngers to prepare them for making
good choices out in the world, making good decisions, good friends.
(44:04):
You know how they are, remembering where they come from,
remembering that we are a family that believes the Lord right,
and they have a responsibility for their life to make
good choices.
Speaker 6 (44:14):
I can teach them, but.
Speaker 5 (44:15):
At a certain point they have to execute the things
that they have been taught.
Speaker 6 (44:19):
Do they always will? They always, absolutely not.
Speaker 5 (44:22):
The Bible says train up a child in the way
they should go, and when they are old, they will
not depart. We know that when they're young, they'll sometimes
make difficult decisions and different decisions that don't always agree. Listen,
I had a long talk with my older brother about
things that happened different for him than it did for us,
Things that my mom will probably be like, I never
(44:43):
wanted you to go through that. But life is life,
and you cannot block them from their testimony. You cannot
block them from their choices. You can pray for them,
and like my mama said, you know you're gonna hit
a brick wall and I'll be there with a band aid.
But your choices will God, your life will how you
live your lif life. Your choices will guide you know
your success or your failure. That's hard as a parent.
(45:05):
That's hard when you have a god child that you love,
or niece or nephew that you love and you're trying
to help them make the right decisions. Y'all, it's their decision.
And when they stand before God, this is where I
get my peace. When they stand before God, he's not
going to say you would have been better if your
mama would have done more, you would have been better,
if your pastor would have done more, if somebody, they
