Speaker 1 (05:49):
Faith Walk right now, hey man, new faith Walk.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
Yes, it is time for the faith Walk of the day,
And we all know the scripture Matthew seven and seven.
Ask and it shall be given. Seeking you shall find
knock and the door will be open to you. But
so many people do not ask. I had probably a
conversation with three different black men who were struggling and
(06:18):
just wasn't saying anything. Luckily, the Lord placed them on
you know, our hearts, and you know, my husband made
a call and I made some calls and just realized
they're really struggling with you know, why is my life
not why it's supposed to how it's supposed to be,
or how I imagined it, how I envisioned it. Job,
not enough, relationship not working, just so many things, so
(06:39):
many layers that don't make them feel like the man
they want to be. And here's what I know. A
lot of times men don't ask. They just fade into
the darkness. And it is so dangerous because scripture tells
us that it will be given to the one who
ask in Matthew five and four. To write where there
(07:01):
is no guidance that people fail in the midst of council,
there's great safety in Proverbs eleven and fourteen. And so
when you realize that you know that you have a
responsibility to speak up. I'm one of the people that
I was talking to. Is like, when nobody's calling, I said, well,
who are you calling? Who did you cause? If you
send in text messages, hey, y'all, I'm doing great.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Guess what? I think you're doing great?
Speaker 5 (07:22):
And so when I call and you're down in the dumps,
I'm shocked and amazed because for all week long, you're
telling everybody you know, make sure you talk to the
Lord today. So I think you talk to them, you know.
So let's be honest with where we are. Lest not
that you want to send text messages. Hey, you know,
I feel like a loser today. But guess what you
can if you want to. If there's circles of love
(07:43):
and circles of community and accountability, you can if you
want to. I feel like a loser today is not
a statement that should remain secret, because there needs to
be somebody around you that loves you enough to tell you, no,
you're not. You're having a bad day, not a bad life.
That it's a bad moment, not a bad forever. And
so when you look at it that way, you get
through the day looking for the victory in the next.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
And I'm not minimizing it.
Speaker 5 (08:06):
I know that it's you know, more layer and difficult
than that, but it at least starts with opening your
mouth and.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Saying something because your family needs to know.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
Don't just show up at your house and your family
never knows what you're going through.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
You know.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
I want us to be well, and so in order
to be well, we got to realize the answers and
the tools that we can use is right there in
the word. It tells us to carry each other's burdens.
So we're called to help. You, don't You don't have
to do it by yourself. Give to the one who asks.
Open your mouth and ask for the help that you need.
It's not always money. Sometimes it's a conversation, it's a hug.
Sometimes it's just going to lunch with me. I just
(08:40):
need to bounce some ideas off of you, you know,
But don't go through things by yourself.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
You don't have to. All right, I love you and
I mean it.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
That is the faith walk ladies and gentlemen caring about

We got more on the way ends. Get up morning.
If you're listening to Good Morning, get people.
Speaker 5 (13:54):
Let's get up Morning's I America can be Love and Jesus.
At eleven you all right, guys, eleven minutes after the
hour will hear from serious Griff mister Griffin. Plus I'll
have an Erica isn't just for you? Then we'll have
things off with the joys and concerns. Music from Todd Tribute,
Adiya and Anthony Brown. Here's Jasha COV's Leonard with church.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
I'm doing. It's time for serious grip. Are you serious?
Come on, it's real.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
Yes, it's time for mister Griffin. Our serious griff is
on you.
Speaker 7 (14:26):
I have to thanks you, thank you Erica. We'll just
gonna jump right into what I was saying, thank you.
I'm I on for the last nineteen months, I've been
having hives, right, and I've been going to the hospital
and I've been you know, blood work and everything and
no high blood pressure, know nothing.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
I don't have nothing. There's nothing wrong.
Speaker 7 (14:48):
Well, obviously it's something wrong if I'm in and out
of emergency rooms and using EPI pens like they was lollipops,
but the doctors can't find it anything wrong. And I
have Over the weekend, I was just very weary, man,
I was, I was.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
I was.
Speaker 7 (15:10):
I had planned Saturday. We was like we're going to church,
We're gonna get up. And I got up at maybe
about six thirty getting ready you know, to go to
church because our church is an hour away. And I
was all hived up and bumpy, and I had to
take pregnazone and pregna zone is a steroid, and it
(15:30):
makes me very sullen if that's.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
A is that a word? That's a word, right?
Speaker 15 (15:36):
You know?
Speaker 7 (15:36):
It makes me very sullen. And I'm such the opposite
of that, you know. And I had I had to
really go in the scripture and find scriptures because I
just I wasn't well. On Sunday, I wasn't. I was
hearing the enemy say, you know you could, you could
end it all right, you don't have to be And
(15:59):
I'm like, I know people down survived cancer and survived worse.
And I had to remind myself I'm a survivor. I
done came from I've come too far for God to
bring me here to get taken out by some bumps.
I mean, I'm laughing at it right now. But Sunday
(16:20):
I was not well, and I thank my brother for
coming over to come hang out with me, just to
and I couldn't call my wife. Is like, I got
to call a pastor. I got we got a lot
of pastor friends. But you know, Sunday they all at
church is getting ready to do what they do. And
(16:43):
I just thank Lenika for being there for me.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
I was not I was not well. I wasn't good.
Speaker 7 (16:50):
In hindsight, when I look back, I just thank God
for covering me and keeping me. But it's make it's
it's making me very weary. It's making me. I'm not losing.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Faith because I got a big faith, but tired. Yeah.
I just keep going in and out.
Speaker 7 (17:16):
They keep saying they don't know what's happening, and I.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Yeah, so y'all just keep me a prayer. That's my pisiness.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
But we are praying and believing and knowing that God
is a healer and that he'll reveal exactly what this
is and that it won't be a mystery anymore. And
so I need everybody in to get up church right now,
right now, right now, to pray for get Griff wherever
you are. Louis speaking healing over his mind, body and
soul in the name Virgensa, saying you are defeated, have
no place, power or authority. We thank you for the
(17:48):
right doctor and the right diagnosis. In Jesus' name, we
pray thank God, Amen, y'all stick around. It's more on
the way I'll get up on.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
If you're listening to Get Up with Erica camb Erica
is of the Day on Get Up Mornings with Erica Campble.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Yes, it's time for the Erica Is.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
And I had the pleasure of going out with some
really great friends that me and Warren have known of
our whole dating life, so twenty nine years, thirty years,
and we had such a great time, great conversation, just
catching up on life and kids and marriage and all
the things we've been blessed to accomplish in the entertainment industry.
(18:38):
And after the dinner was over, it just was a
sweet reminder that great friendships don't die. That when you
have had memories and times and triumphs and failures together
with people, when you get together, it's just felt like
old times. We laughed and talked about so many things,
and you know, just celebrated one another for all all
(19:00):
the victories and all the things that we've been able
to do. And it was just really really a blessing.
But it's always a sweet reminder that good friendships don't die.
And sometimes you know, you don't get to see each
other as often, and we don't. We haven't had lunch
or dinner and I don't even know how long. So
we don't get together often, not even every year sometimes,
(19:20):
you know, sometimes we'll go some years without seeing each
other or talking. But getting back together always feels like family,
It feels like home.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
It feels refreshing.
Speaker 5 (19:30):
And it made me think about how many people had
good friends and they don't reach out or connect it all.
And I'm not saying you got to see each other
every week or even every month, but when there is
somebody that you love and care about, you have to
be intentional about the time that you take with them.
It is something that I have to work on, especially
with the busyness of my life, you know, kids, church, music,
(19:52):
you know, and all the.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Other things that I do.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
God reminds me that there are people who knew you
before all of this and they love you so much.
And when I remember that, I take a moment, whether
it's a text or maybe a message on social media.
I try my best to reach out and love on
the people that I know love me. But it's always
so wonderful. I was also blessed to go on a
trip I believe I told you guys before with some
(20:16):
of my best friends that I've known since I was
six years old that I call the G's, I lovingly
call the g's my og friends. And it was such
a good time. We prayed for one another, and just
I believe in the power of good friendship.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
I believe in the power of people that love you.
Speaker 5 (20:34):
And it's part of the reason that I'm I have
the confidence that I have because you know, I'm loved,
and not just because of what I do, because of
who I am.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Because these people love me with or without Granmy's.
Speaker 5 (20:47):
These people love me with or without successes, with their
without you know, Stellar's or Marconi's or whatever.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
And it is just so wonderful because these have been.
Speaker 5 (20:56):
The people that have been there even in my brokenness,
even in my disappointments, even in my failures, even when
things go wrong, you know, sickness, hospital, none of that
has changed our love for each other. And I just
think it's so wonderful. But the Bible says he who
shows himself friendly makes friends, And so how are you
(21:20):
making friends? How are you being intentional about building friendships?
How are you with restoring friendships?
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Right?
Speaker 5 (21:28):
There are some people who once you do something, they
can't never forgive you. I probably have had to forgive
all my friends for something, and we made it through
whatever that difficult time and phase was.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Because it's a phase to forgiveness.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
So you forgive, right, and then you're still reminded and
you say, my punk for forgiving. You know, I shouldn't
have you know what I mean? I let him get away.
Forgiveness it is not for them, it's for you, right
to release it. God heal my heart. Right, I will surrender,
surrender that to God. Forgive us our debts as we
forgive our debtors.
Speaker 12 (21:58):
You know.
Speaker 5 (21:59):
So I believe in really good friendships and I still
have them to this day, and I'm so grateful. I'm so,
so very grateful. So I'm asking you, when was the
last time you talked to your friend? When was the
last time you called them? When the last time y'all
hung out? When was the last time you went over
and saw them. Maybe it's a friend from college or
or an old church. You would to just reach out
and say hello. Good friendships never die. That's my airkait Is.
Speaker 13 (22:22):
I love you.
Speaker 5 (22:23):
I mean it all right, guys, Griff's got the joys
and come starts up next and get up mornings.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
If you're listening to get up camp gets the church,
say amen.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Next time concerns.
Speaker 5 (22:40):

you verus, Lady pastor.

I'd like to say, unclad to be in the House
of the Lord one more time, Elder Chirl, because he
brought me from a mighty mighty long way.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Sister Garmina Barnett. I could have been dead.
Speaker 7 (23:43):
Sleeping in the grave.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
But God, it's good all the time, and all the time.
God is yes, yes, yes, lady and gentlemen.
Speaker 7 (23:53):
I just found out yesterday that we knowing Thanksgiving super
duper early. Like food gonna be done by one o'clock.
And then when people come, they can come get some food,
they can come chill, and then they can leave, and
they can come and watch some of the games and
they could leave. But my wife works. My wife don't
have holidays off. So she is like, yeah, we're gonna
(24:16):
do Thanksgiving and then I'm going to sleep. So uh,
the people that's coming over my house, I like to

Elanda Adams and Otis Kemp.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Here's Brent Jones with praise in the choir stand on
Get up Morning.
Speaker 5 (28:19):
Our physic who health affects our mental health and vice versa.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
See your body as you are, strong spirits. It's healthy
ever after, healthy.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Morning.
Speaker 5 (28:30):
It's healthy ever after, and on the line with us
today as are euvedic practitioner and counselor my sister Elena
Atkins Lanter. Okay, Elena, I welcome back to get up
morning on good morning, Good morning, good morning. Okay, So
this is the holiday that many god into rich holiday favorites,
and so from an are euvetic perspective, why does that
(28:51):
kind of eating hit our bodies so hard? And what
are simple swaps that can help people enjoy the feasts
without the fallout?
Speaker 12 (28:58):
Okay, well, holiday food not have to hurt. Fifty one
percent of Americans reportedly overeat during the holiday time, and
it takes our bodies fifteen to twenty minutes to even
send signals.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
That were full.
Speaker 12 (29:14):
And if you're eating distracted like watching TV or talking
or scrolling, it can take up to thirty minutes for
your body to signal, hey I'm not hungry anymore. So yeah,
So when we slow down, when we're eating, when we
are intentional about taking breaths, and when we're giving our
bodies hormones time to signal hey we're not hungry anymore,
(29:39):
then we don't overeat.
Speaker 9 (29:42):
So making sure we're taking that.
Speaker 12 (29:44):
Time allowing those hormones to increase the stend those cues
to our bodies.
Speaker 9 (29:49):
And so when you do things like incorporating ginger or
trimmrik or fresh ground peppers, these type of digestive spices
or tease.
Speaker 12 (29:57):
Like ginger or cardivom or cca, they help with the
dig justice process when we are eating.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
Okay, so you tease the protecting your peace actually protects
your vital energy. How can boundary first explain that part?
And then how can boundary setting become a tool this holiday?
Speaker 1 (30:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 12 (30:16):
Okay, So most people get to the holidays and according
to statistics, fifty five percent of Americans say that holiday
time is the worst time of year because of the
are you single questions?
Speaker 9 (30:30):
Or did you have a baby at or did you
gain some weight?
Speaker 12 (30:34):
And many times we don't call out our own patterns,
but we call out other people's other people's personalities. Instead
of saying why did I let this bother me? We
say why did they say that to me? So choosing
and having firm boundaries to say I'd rather not discuss
that right now and just redirect the conversation.
Speaker 9 (30:54):
Just some how have you been? And choosing not to.
Speaker 12 (30:58):
Carry anything that you didn't decide to carry alia.
Speaker 7 (31:02):
You talk about the importance of movement after meals and nursing,
night time ritual share fuel. So eat real big Thanksgiving,
go for a walk immediately.
Speaker 12 (31:11):
After Well number one, we don't want to say eat
real big, because.
Speaker 9 (31:14):
It should only be eating until we're not hungry, not.
Speaker 12 (31:17):
Until we feel we're going to explode and we see
it upticking all sorts of diseases from head I mean
illnesses from headaches to constipation, to heartburn, to tightness of
the chest, and even more complicated serious diseases because of overeating.
So when you do simple things like starting your Thanksgiving
(31:40):
morning with a walk, I'm gonna be taken. I'll be
taken out a hike this Thanksgiving. And it's just a
tradition that I decided some years ago to get moving,
get my blood flowing, improve my digestion through movement, and
even after we eat. Eating I mean, taking a small
walk just ten to fifteen minutes after we eat, increases digestion,
(32:02):
decreases bloating, decreases asset reflex, and it decreases glucose spikes
that lead to the sleepy crash or the as we
call it the itis.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
The itis. Well there it is.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
I'm so excited really because I got grow to get
an all right, what are we talking about today, Cheryl,
Do not have a little fun today and just play
a little game of this and that.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Right, it's the Thanksgiving edition of this and that.
Speaker 5 (34:55):
So tomorrow we'll have you know, depending on where you live,
you can have the tradition no turkey and a few
size to the country smoked hams and all the southern
meats that you could eat somebody talked about at Tuffe
and things from New Orleans that was on their table. Right,
I thought it would be fun to play the game
this and that with the you know, forget this or that,
this or that, this or that, so this and that
(35:18):
is the DC version.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
It'd be just and that, just and that.
Speaker 5 (35:29):
So yeah, so you know, we'll ask the get up
church questions like sweet potato pie or pumpkin pie. Right,
that's apparently there are some black people that's like pumpkin pie.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
But we'll seize on stage.
Speaker 18 (35:40):
Besides, Cal literally was just thinking about keV.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
I don't understand that. I don't really know the difference.
Speaker 7 (35:49):
Like if you said, hey, Griff, if you just lied
to me and said this was a punkin pie or
sweet like, I wouldn't know the difference I've rarely rarely those.
Speaker 5 (35:58):
So for like people who are in sweet potato pie
and pumpy pie and stuff like that, it's the same
way somebody does not into football and be like, oh,
it's all the same team, right, because they don't get it.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
So for pie, it's like, no, this is a particular taste.
Speaker 5 (36:11):
This has a particulars and people who prefer it just
prefer it, you.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (36:16):
So the consistency is different, and it does have a
different flavor. I think so sweet, I mean, and the
way we make it right, My ours is heavy up
men and cinnamon, and it's got to be a darker
pumpkin pie I mean sweet potato pie in order for
it to be good. Then you got the So then
another question would be like apple cobbler or apple pie
or peach cobbler or apple coppler.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
So we're gonna ask you.
Speaker 5 (36:39):
I would say peach cobbler over apple pie. I'm not
a real apple pie. My husband loves apple pie. He
loves cooked apples. I can just chop up apples and
put them in butter and seats and sugar, and.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
He loves that.
Speaker 5 (36:50):
But I'm more of a peach cobbler kind of girl.
So you like crust, then, oh I love the crust. Yeah,
but enough sweet, not too much crust, but not too
much of the juices. There has to be the right balance.
And some people just put sugar just for the sake
of sugar. And it's it's not like you don't taste
the peach, you don't taste the sentiment, you don't milla,
It just sugar.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
It just put a.
Speaker 5 (37:09):
Pound of sugar in it. Yeah, so I'm like, so see,
everybody got their opinions. So that's why that's what this,
this or that, this or that is about?
Speaker 12 (37:17):
Right?
Speaker 5 (37:17):
Green beans or collar greens or turnip greens.
Speaker 1 (37:21):
Yeah, I'm not really a turn up green kind of girl.
I'm a collar green kind of girl.
Speaker 5 (37:25):
You too, So we would announce, let's let's play along
this or that. What's your this or that? Eight seven
seven two four two two four two six. What do
you prefer? What's gonna be on your table? Give us
a call eight seven seven two for two two four
two six.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Let's play this or that. Let's get a morning.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
If you're listening to get up, you've heard from us, all.
Speaker 5 (38:03):
Right, guys for the get up, Paul, We're gonna play
a game of this or that. Let's go to Dale
and Charlotte. Hey, Dale, so tell me? Do you like
sweet potato pie or pumpkin pie?
Speaker 1 (38:13):
Sweet potato pie all day long?
Speaker 7 (38:15):
Come on?
Speaker 1 (38:15):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (38:15):
One more and one more. Green beans are collar greens.
Speaker 1 (38:19):

Let me give you let me give you one more
mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes.

big deal.
Speaker 5 (39:56):

comedy sketch.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
This is not your big moment.
Speaker 5 (43:22):
It's just thankfulness, right, and maybe we want them to
sing we like when y'all gosh, okay, here is t
I Young dro Kirk Franklin in the Sunday Service choir
with thank God on get.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
Up morning for God. So love the world.
Speaker 5 (43:45):
Yes, it is time for the love talk of today.
And after some of these conversations that I've been having
about love and relationship, I just think that we need
to fall in love with the Love scripture because what
y'all calling love ain't love, okay, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
All right, students, boys.
Speaker 5 (43:58):
And girls, well up, you get your pencils.
Speaker 1 (44:01):
Let's look at what love is again.
Speaker 5 (44:04):
First Corinthians thirteen, or love is patient and kind.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
Start there. Patient.
Speaker 5 (44:09):
Why did God put patient first? Because that's what you
have to be if you're gonna be in love. Love
is patient and kind. Love does not envy or boast.
It is not arrogant or rude. So if you're talking
crazy and you're saying you love me, look, this says
love is not arrogant or rude. You probably can include
obnoxious in there too. It does not okay, you can't
(44:31):
add to the word sorry, Fasters, and theologians. I know
you can't add from the world, you can't take away.
It does not insist on its own way is what
it says. It is not irritable or resentful. It does
not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in truth. Love bears
all things, believes all things, hopes, all things, endures all things.
Love never ends. And prophecies they will pass away, tongues
(44:54):
they will cease. For knowledge, as for knowledge, it will
pass away. But love does not pass away. I love
never fastest away. So listen, ladies and gentlemen. Stuff that
y'all calling love, and you fall out of love because
whatever the thing is, this scripture is your playbook. This
scripture is your instructions. And you can also replace love
(45:16):
with God. God is patient. God does an envy because
God is love. Right, That's what the word tells us.
We were created from love to be loved, but somehow
our world has made us look at love is something
so different.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
Love is something that just makes me feel good.
Speaker 5 (45:29):
It makes me feel like I'm valued because someone loves me.
That's romantic love. And you know, if you're a parent,
you know love is all these things. If you're a parent,
you got to be patient because kids all drive you crazy.
But this is the playbook, this is the blueprint. This
is what we should go back to. Lord, help me
love the way you love. Let me see people in
(45:50):
my life that I love the way you see them.
Let me understand that love bills and makes people better.
So let me do a better job at loving. Now,
y'all listen, I know everybody is. It's not loveable. We
understand that, and we get that. But as best as
you can. If you say you're a child of God
and you're trying to be more like Jesus, then this
should be our blueprint for how we love. So let's
(46:12):
be patient with people. Kind, not envious, not erkin or rude,
don't insist on your own way.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
Not irrible, irritable or resentful.
Speaker 5 (46:22):
Not rejoicing and wrongdoing, you know, replaying that they did
to let you down over and over. That's parents too,
But that's why you fail on high school. You can't
find no jobt you just keep reminding of what they
did wrong. That ain't love, that's not encouragement. That doesn't
build anyone, It doesn't make them better. If you say
you forgive somebody and you remind them every five seconds.
Speaker 1 (46:40):
That's not love. That doesn't make the relationship stronger.
Speaker 5 (46:43):
Just fall in love with the love scriptures and ask
God to give you a revelation of it.
Speaker 1 (46:48):
Ask God to help you to be better at it.
Speaker 5 (46:50):
Sometimes the better you love God and yourself, the better
you can love people. Sometimes you don't trust God enough
to love him fully. Ooh, that's a whole different subject. We'
gonna talk about that. But get acclimated, get real involved
with this love scripture, and it has got to make
it come alive in your life.
Speaker 1 (47:07):
All right.

Speaker 1 (47:26):
Take it over the web. What is it? Trending topics
up to the minute? All right, Cheryl, tell us what
is trending? All right?
Speaker 5 (47:34):
So I know you guys have seen this trending everywhere.
A former employee claims in a lawsuit that a Campbell
Soup Company executive called the company's laws highly processed food
for poor people.
Speaker 1 (47:47):
Yes, boy.
Speaker 5 (47:48):
Robert Garza, a former cybersecurity analyst for the company, filed
a racial discrimination in racial harassment suit on November twentieth
and Wayne County, Michigan Circuit Court. He alleges that the
that during a November twenty twenty four meeting with the
company's vice president of information technology that his name was
Martin Bailey, that he said, yeah, the food is holly
(48:11):
processed and for for poor people. Garza reportedly recorded his
meeting with Bally, which he expected to be a discussion
after his salary, and shared it with local news sources.
And now it's everywhere one social media.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
It's a pr mess. I mean, we didn't think that.
We didn't think that Campbell it.
Speaker 7 (48:31):
Was enriched with high fibers and uh yeah.
Speaker 5 (48:35):
It cans sit on the cabinet for twenty fifty years. Yes,
you got to know us nothing but preserves and its.
Speaker 18 (48:44):
Yeah, but for the executive and really saying it right
he talk about to Balley. Yeah, so I guess we
just probably need to leave three D meat though.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
Yeah. That Yeah, they making sche kids.
Speaker 5 (49:00):
People use that and you know it's Thanksgiving too, so
people use that for their base for their gradies sometime
for their.
Speaker 1 (49:07):
Mush yeah mac.
Speaker 7 (49:11):
Throwing campbell souper away. How about that? My bad Bart.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
We say every day, say your grace people.
Speaker 5 (49:21):
They might oh man, yeah, I might have to not
yeah after that, Like that's in the writing is on
the wall.
Speaker 1 (49:28):
Anyway. I love this story.
Speaker 5 (49:30):
The legacies of the late and famous father and daughter
music icon Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole are living
on a Berkeley College of Music campus. So on Tuesday,
Berkeley announced the first award awardees of this newly established
Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole Scholarship Fund. So Paris
Pinaro is a second year student study in music, and
(49:53):
she was awarded this first honor at Berkeley. So I
love that the seventy five thousand dollars presented alongside with
the Natalie Cole Foundation and then King cod Generation of
Hope was established to mark what would have been nat
Lee's seventy fifth birthday and to celebrate both colds and
during legacy in music.
Speaker 1 (50:13):
That's pretty dope, I think so too. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (50:16):
Now, finally, so Thanksgiving is tomorrow and a lot of folks,
you know, are getting together with family and eating and things.
But there's some things that you can do if you
want to volunteer, right, So some places you can go,
like soup kitchens in every city could use your help tomorrow.
Operation Turkey is another organization that's in cities across the country.
Salvation Army could use help. Local chapters often host Thanksgiving
(50:40):
meals and programs and could use volunteers. And then there's
other local organizations like churches. Yesterday just here in the
DC area, there were like five different churches that were
serving and feeding. Even the gathering place JJ Harston's Church
literally fed people yesterday for like four hours, and on
(51:00):
Thanksgiving morning they're doing it again. So yeah, if it's
things that you want to do to volunteer, I know
one year, my family, you know, just decided to do
care packages for the homeless and just went downtown and
just started passing out different things for them to eat
and to you know, to use with toiletries and things.
So it's a good time to give during the season.
So I just wanted to add that to my trending topics.
(51:21):
That's what strending.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
Griff. You're next with us Sports a minute. Yeah, it's
a good game. It's Griff still up sports a minute.

Let's go straight to the college football rankings that came
out yesterday. The top four really didn't change. It's still
Ohio State, oh the Indiana Texas A and m Georgia
Texas Tech. But let me just say something. We loved
that Ohio State is number one.
Speaker 1 (51:48):
We love it.
Speaker 7 (51:49):
On Saturday at noon, Michigan plays Ohio State. We moved
up three spots to fifteen. Beat Ohio State, change the world.
That's the bottom line. Oregon went up to six, oh
Miss fail to seven. Oklahoma's at eighth, Notre Dame still
there at nine, Alabama's at ten, BYU is at eleven,
(52:11):
and Miamis at twelve, and they just went up. So
this year be the first year that they're doing twelve
teams that go to the playoff instead of four.
Speaker 1 (52:20):
So it's very exciting.
Speaker 7 (52:22):
It's a bunch of games this weekend that could change
all of the college football ranking.
Speaker 1 (52:30):
So very excited about it.
Speaker 7 (52:31):
