Speaker 1 (00:00):
What was it like to see Terrence in the Turns
Away break through for their first time?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Yeah, it was just cool. Happy for them.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
I think you saw it from the reaction from their
teammates to what you know those guys mean to them
already as rookies, you know, because they just go and
put in the work. So but not shocking, you know,
I'm Matthew has so much trust and all the players
have so much trust of whoever's.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Out there, which is really neat, So not shocking at all.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
I didn't look great, you know, you'd have to ask
him in terms of how he feels.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
But look, look good. Reggie and the boys been doing an.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Awesome job making sure all these guys are ready to
go when they when they do, have happened to miss
so but looking good. Good Yeah, same old Samuel not
paying attention to the right tackle as much like I
think of the right tackles. You know, you can only
get noticed when usually things go bad.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
So nothing went bad, it's good.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Well if they keep trending in the right direction or
build one some day. What is having both of those
guys back to for this offense?
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Yeah, I mean just guys that have played a lot
of football. But again, no matter who's out there, you know,
Pooka's out there, Rob's out there, they go out the
first play with something different or they might not go
you know, you never know. And so we got confidence
in all these guys. But you know, obviously there's nothing
like experience, and those guys have a ton Robbie and more.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
But Pook's played a lot of football as well.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
There was a clip that came out after the Ravens
game of Pooka talking with the offense about like on
the sideline, about punching it in in the red zone.
He's always seen like more of a lead by example type.
Quite curious this year, how if you've seen him kind
of grow into a little bit more football leadership.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Yeah, Pooka.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
What's cool about him is he is authentically himself. So
if he needs to say something, he'll say it. If
he doesn't need to say it, he'll just do it
through his actions. So I did see the clip. I
saw it after the fact obviously because I'm up in
the box. But you know, hey, he had something to say,
and when he talks, guys are gonna listen.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
What doesn't say about a guy that early in his
NFL career that the Vans that kind of respect those situations.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yeah, I mean, you know, naturally, when you do things
the right way and you're productive, you're going to get
that respect. But as you guys know, Poka is he's
a special human too, you know, so it's not shocking
that he is continue to develop and roll into that role.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
But again, he was he was a leader's first year.
He's a leader everywhere.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
He's been because he's he's that dude, you know, in
terms of just being about all the right stuff. So
again not shocking, and you know, I'm sure when he
needs to speak up again, he will.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
I know.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Run blocking is always a big part of tight ends
transitions in the NFL. Like as Terrence's role has increased
these last two games House he kind of graded out
in that area.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yeah, No, he's doing a good job.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Again, It's like you said, I mean that the tight
ends every position. There's there's no easy position in this
league for for all twenty two that's out there. But
tight end's got a lot on their plate, right They've
got to move. Apart from an operational standpoint, you got
your pass game, you got protection past game. Obviously with
the route concepts and then and then you got the
run game. So there's a lot on their plate. So
for anyone, let alone the rookie, it's it's a lot.
(03:08):
He's gotten better and better. That's why he's out there.
You know, in all phases. You can't just be out
there to be in one phase. We trust all for
those guys to be able to do whatever, and that's
and that's unique to be able to say, hey, all
four can go play all four spots, you know, and
uh and do whatever we ask him to do.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
And it's a pretty cool.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
Room where those the kinds of red zone plays you
envisioned with Davante when you guys acquired him.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Yeah, I mean with Davante with just the l A Rams,
you know, scoring touchdowns, you kick field goals in this
league more times than not, you're not gonna like the
result on Sundays.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
So you know, obviously he had three.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
I think there could be a number of guys that
could can make those plays too. Answering your question, absolutely, Tay,
there's a reason he has over one hundred touchdowns because
he's been extremely productive and extremely talented since he's been
in this league from Presno. So not acting very happy
they were able to get that done.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
I don't know if those are you could tell us.
It's different if those are the first reads on those
on the plays at the goal line. Yeah, but when
you're calling them, when you're hearing the calls come through,
that that's what you guys are going to do.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Yeah, I mean sometimes sometimes not right, you know, I
mean everyone, especially when you got a guy like number
nine and everyone's available, you just never know, you know.
I mean, it's a great call with two to two
on the eighty yard touchdown or eighty eight yard touchdown.
You know, Sehawn's already said. I mean that was two
players making a play, you know. So what's cool is
our guys know that, you know, whether it says one, two, three,
(04:34):
four outlet amongst the five eligibles when we put in
an install you never know. So I'm not going to
go into full detail what the you know, what we're
thinking and stuff like that for strategic purposes.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
But again, they know where they fit.
Speaker 5 (04:48):
In a very long and good career. But when you
look back at the first half of the season thirty five,
is there anything that stood out to play?
Speaker 2 (04:59):
No?
Speaker 3 (05:00):
I mean, seriously, it's just he's, uh, he's doing what
he's asked to do. And I'm trying to think of something,
but it's he's always enjoyed it. He's always been an
ultra competitor, he's always been tough, he's always been productive.
I mean, he's just I'm just happy each and every moment,
each and every week that he's out there playing the
game that he loves, you know, and he's got a
(05:21):
great supporting cast around him, all ten.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Plus a good defense.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
You know, hopefully he thinks that about his quarterback coach
and head coach and coordinator and all that kind of stuff.
Probably not, but that doesn't matter. You know, he's out
there doing his thing and not shocking at all.
Speaker 7 (05:37):
Matthew said that the offensive line has kept him pretty clean,
and then the pressure numbers, you know, support that. What
have you seen that's been working in past protection? Even
with some of the injuries.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Yeah, I think they got a good connection right now
amongst the five. Even though we've had some, Like everyone,
you're always going to have some you know, adjust to
adjust and guys that are in.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
There one week and not the other.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
But the one thing that I think is really sticking
through is just giving him an extra click, like just
just fighting and grinding and scratching and clawing to make
sure that, you know, they keep the defense off of him. Obviously,
that's inevitable. It's football, the defense, as I saying it too.
You go against d Lions, I don't care who it is.
They got good, good players up front, you know. And
(06:19):
and we're gonna have our hands full with these guys
because they get after it and they know that. So
but I think our guys they've done a really good
job of just knowing that, knowing that they give nine
just one extra click, usually good things will happen. Yeah,
they got a lot of pride they I feel like
since I was in Atlanta, what nine years ago, I
mean there's still some of those same kind of not
(06:42):
same guys, but just that that same aura about the
Saints defense.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
You know we had, you.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
Know, we got a chance to go against them in August,
and you know, our guys felt at firsthand. I mean,
these are big, strong, prideful dudes, and they've shown it.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
They showed it last week. They played their butts off
last week. You know.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
So I got a lot of respect for him, I
got a lot of respect for their scheme. I got
a lot of respect for their leadership. I got a
ton of respect for how they play. So got a
handsful coach.
Speaker 8 (07:10):
Can you give us your respective from the offensive club
sided the well? Of course, the time off has that
given you time to make any eductations, adjustments things you've
learned from the first half.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
Yeah. Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
You always use that week, you know, one to kind
of freshen up. But as you're freshening up, you're you're
excited to get back into it, you know.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
And so you get that extra little sleep.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
You got a nice clear mind when you wake up
and you're drinking some coffee, taking your kids to school,
and then what are you gonna do all day?
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Because you're not used to it.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
You know, you can only walk so much in the neighborhood.
So you pop on the tape and you just start
You just start watching.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
I don't golf during the season.
Speaker 3 (07:43):
I don't golf really ever, but uh, you just start
watching ball from around the league. You watch yourself, and
you don't wanna you don't want to do too much
obviously to change. I think organically the season, you know,
goes in the way that it should if you're if
you believe you're doing things the right your way and
you have a foundation, but there's always going to be
little adaptations from again around the league and stuff that
(08:03):
you want to implement that you see with what you're
doing within your scheme. Yeah, I mean, I feel you'd
have to ask these guys. I feel like we're always
asking for their perspective. You know, they're the ones playing
out there. I hope from there's a vantage point. They
just get away, you know, and I know some guys
dive into it, probably a little bit more than others.
(08:25):
But yeah, during the during the bye, it's hey, you
get away, and I mean, this is a long haul
for all thirty two teams, So you know they're back,
they're ready and you know, ready to go on Sunday.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
What's the challenge about going up against the first time?
Speaker 2 (08:40):
I think the starter.
Speaker 9 (08:43):
Yeah, it's just like anything else. He's obviously a really
good player. There's a reason why they picked him when
they did. He had a lot of ton of success
in college and uh, you know, he did a nice
job operating the offense when he went in the game
for the last thirty or so play, so you know
there's a reason when.
Speaker 10 (08:57):
Why they have them and why they think a lot
of them. So you know, it would be a great
challenge for us.
Speaker 5 (09:02):
Was there in those thirty stamps? Is there are enough
to evaluate him in the seen sis or you going
back to college?
Speaker 9 (09:07):
Oh, you're going back he played a bunch of the preseason.
You're going back to his college tape. But uh and
you know, kind of confirming. So you know, just like
anything else any young QB, just like when we played
camp Ward early or any new player, you're always gonna
have to go back and get some get some other things.
But uh so obviously you're not going to see all
that in thirty plays, although most of them were you know,
(09:28):
at the type of game, most of war passes.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
What did you did you guys see in Roger McCreary
that made him an attractive addition.
Speaker 9 (09:36):
He he he's just you know, when you talk about
a RAM, he's just a RAM. He's tough, he's versatile,
he's a physical guy. He's really smart. You know, he's
been he's already been picking up the defense really well.
You know, he's just a guy that fits in really well.
And typically those guys over the years that I've been
here have done really well here, So we're just excited
to have him and uh, he's starting to carve out
his role and uh, you know it's cool to get
(09:58):
him on the grass yesterday and kind of see what
he can do. And excited to see him here in
a few hours to have.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
A similar onboarding process to a manual last year, or.
Speaker 7 (10:07):
It'll be a little bit more communicated.
Speaker 9 (10:10):
I think it'll be a little more you know where
where you're trying to you know, roll him in, get
him in the mix where you know, Forbes we were
kind of you know, got him knowing it was kind
of a long term you know, let's see and you
know we're we're in my career. You know, we're trying
to you know, switch him in. You know, he plays
different positions. He's not just outside you know like Forbes was,
So you know, it's just a little bit different. I think,
(10:31):
you know, just like every single player is. So uh,
you know, get him in the mix and uh, you know,
any player that has.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
A helmet will have a role for us. So we'll
see how it fits in.
Speaker 9 (10:39):
You've got a corner who can play inside and outside.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
What what does that kind of open up when you
specifically with a guy like Quinton Lake and also move
around so much.
Speaker 10 (10:46):
Yeah, no doubt. You know, it's great for us.
Speaker 9 (10:49):
And anytime you got smart players that can move around,
it allows you to get your best eleven on the field.
So obviously he's new to the scheme near the system,
but he's a guy that's played a ton of football.
He's played in a lot of a lot of defenses
and a lot of good defenses. And he's gonna learn
fast and we'll get him up to speed. And you know,
we're always gonna find ways to get our best levet
on the field. And we'll see how that fits this
week and really every week going forward.
Speaker 7 (11:11):
Prating Fisk was in the backfield a lot against Jacksonville.
What is special about the way that he prepares for
an opponent?
Speaker 9 (11:17):
Yeah, you're exactly right. Uh, you know, he was disruptive
in that game. And I know, you know, whatever the
stats say, but you know, if there was an assist
for sacks, I think he'd leave the league and assists.
So he's a disruptive guy. He is one of the
hardest workers I've seen. He's the first guy in the
building I'm walking by. He's he's sitting in the d
line room early in the morning, watching tape. He's always
(11:41):
in the training room, always doing stuff in the sauna,
getting his body right. So he's preparing men and physically
no matter what. And you know, we love where he's at.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
How do you define an assist for a sack like?
Is that just obsorting a double team.
Speaker 9 (11:53):
Or pressuring him out or it was more of just
getting the QB off the spot and being disrupted.
Speaker 8 (11:59):
Oh, if you have perspectives on the Saints, can you
talk a little bit about what we might be able
to see come Sunday.
Speaker 9 (12:05):
It's a really good offense. I know where they're not
where they want to be record wise, but when you
watch the tape and you watch the cutups, you would
have no clue. And it's they operate really well, really
really good skill, a ton of speed on the field,
a ton of guys that can stretch the field, really
good old line that plays well together. And then obviously
we've been playing Kamara, you know, since you know, since
(12:27):
we got here. I think you know, twenty seventeen we
played them, and we played them twenty eighteen, and you know,
now we know they're going to try to get Taysom
Hill back in the mix. So they got a ton
of guys that can hurt you. They got a really
good play caller and a really tough scheme to go again.
So it's a it's a huge challenge.
Speaker 6 (12:45):
What you guys are going to be facing a rookie
making his first NFL start. The prospect of that for
you guys as pass rushers, does that get you a
little bit amped at all?
Speaker 11 (12:56):
I mean, it's definitely a thought of my mind. But
it's not we focused on too much. I mean when
you see his dollarhape, he had four thousand thousand something
yards his last season. He's very well established, he plays
very well in a good system. He knows how to
control himself. You get him going, he's gonna he's gonna
make you pay for it. So you know, I've watched
some of his college shape, just get a better idea
of you know, outside of the preseason, outside of the
you know, last little bit of game he got to
(13:16):
play in, and he can make you pay if you
don't want to focus up on him.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
So what's gonna do? What we do?
Speaker 1 (13:21):
You played this team last year, he had joint practice
for bat like.
Speaker 11 (13:29):
I mean, yeah, but also everything everybody changes. They're different,
you know from last season to the preseason when we
faced him preseason and now they're a different team. People,
you know, learn more. You know, they have a rookie,
a rookie on the left side. Second you're played on
the right side. Everybody else, nobody's like too deep into
their career. You know, everybody learns something every game. They've
learned so much more in the seven games we played
so far. You can't focus too much on the past
(13:51):
right now.
Speaker 10 (13:51):
As president.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
You were part of the hundreds campaign with and with
ram Sludge Rosie career recently. Just what was that experience?
Speaker 10 (14:00):
It's like free, It was cool.
Speaker 11 (14:01):
I mean, you know, even talking about Rosie first, like
to see like a living legend right in your face,
it's kind of a different feeling. Like I'm looking at him,
I'm like, damn, this was like it's fears and force.
So you know, we we created the picture me fas
b why and uh Kobe we created a picture during
Picture dare but like see like him up front and
I'm like, damn, like stell up pretty big dude. You know,
even the United Day so it was cool and a
(14:21):
hundred campaign. It was just a good time being out there,
being able to, you know, make a little impact, have
a good time. It was a good it went podcast.
Speaker 10 (14:27):
It's fun. He had had some.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Experience against Taysoon Hill last year.
Speaker 9 (14:33):
He's back now.
Speaker 10 (14:34):
It was kind of curious, like what is it like.
Speaker 9 (14:38):
Do all different things?
Speaker 11 (14:42):
Yeah, I mean you you just gotta be focused on
you know, different players come out of different positions, whether
he's lined up at the tight end, running back, quarterback,
you know, every now and they might split them out.
Why put him my wide receiver? So you know, like
he's threat wherever he's out in the field. So he's
got to be cognizant of where he's at and you know,
really take pay a close attention to, you know, his alignment,
where he's set up, all that stuff. But he definitely
adds a lot of challenges.
Speaker 6 (15:03):
You guys are gonna have a stretch here where you're
basically at home or on the West Coast for most
of the rest of the season. Does that have any
impact for you? I mean, do you s s Is
that a positive or do you care whether you're flying
across the country or not.
Speaker 11 (15:18):
It don't change nothing for me. My approach is always
the same. I I do like not having a twelve
hour flight back home. But you know, besides that, it
don't really change too much. I like, I like the
fact that we're you know, we're all on the same side,
same coasts all year, and I or for most of it,
you know, the rest of this time. But also, like
I think we've all said it probably be like no,
Brevember's the month where you separate yourself. So it doesn't
matter where we going, we have to do what we
have to do.
Speaker 9 (15:38):
How would you describe the impact that Nate Wayman is
brought to your defense this year?
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Uh?
Speaker 11 (15:43):
He adds a certain energy that you can't even like describe.
Like I add just like kind of chaotic energy where
I just scream and yell and stuff. Nay comes out
there like he's like like he's like a field general,
Like he lets you know what's gonna happen if you
don't know your play like he gonna he gonna you know,
make sure you understand what you have to do, why
you have to do it. He's doing this, he's doing that.
He likes to manipulate things. Then you know, you just
talk about the actual field of play where he's like
(16:03):
getting that three. I know, you know he's on the
left side the field. The ball goes wide right, if
I tackle the ball, I'm gonna look up and he's
gonna be right there making the tackle with me. Like
he's all over the field. So he's somebody that you like,
I'm shocked that he's outside of where he was something like.
Speaker 6 (16:17):
You has a lot of energy and somebody like him.
Speaker 10 (16:19):
Does that hype you up even more?
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Oh? Yeah, not definitely.
Speaker 11 (16:22):
I mean you can see a couple of players that
we made this year, Like he gets up, I clap
him up. I sat yelling in his face. He's like
young in my face, Like we just we we feed
off each other.
Speaker 9 (16:30):
Did he come in with that energy day one or
did you see him grow into it?
Speaker 11 (16:33):
Or how's that going now? He ain't come in day one,
but like he like obviously day one he's more focus
on landing the playbook and everything like that. But you know,
they's probably one of the smartest people I've ever met,
So like by day two or three, he kind of
understood everything and then he was who you see now?
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Differents to VI coming off VI this year compared to
where you guys were at this time last year.
Speaker 11 (16:53):
I mean lastly, you know, we kind of were fighting
the uphill battle now where and uh, we're still doing
the same thing, you know, like it doesn't matter how
we think about it. Well, he's fighting uphill back because
if you get comfortable in this league, you can pay,
Like humility is a day away. We don't care about
you know what our record is right now? We ow
oh and were going up against nineteen. It's oh no,
it don't matter about anybody's record.
Speaker 8 (17:11):
Who composed the music gonna walk?
Speaker 11 (17:13):
I think it's email, it's trash And why why don't
you want because like I'm not trying to murder somebody
at six in the morning. Like, but like for also
Withdell or something like that, let's relax, like not trying
to listen to some young boy at eight thirty in
the morning. And I was just like on the phone
my mom, like I'm not like it's too much.
Speaker 8 (17:31):
Jared couldn't give us your comparison from last year to
this year. How the growth has brought you to be
a better player. Can some of the things you've learned
being in the NFL.
Speaker 11 (17:40):
Oh yeah, I mean last year mainly it was just
kind of go out there and play. I didn't really
care too much about this at the third It would
just go out there trying to make a play. But
this year I kind of realized, here's my opportunity to
play this time. I have to be the one to
take on the double team. I have to be the
one to you know, sink that sink, the big ap,
you know, handle the edge. Like it's not my play
to make. Let me just let anybody else do their
thing and do whatever I have to do.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
I have to.
Speaker 11 (18:00):
I'll try to make a super him in play, but
more times than not, I'm like one of eleven last year,
I'll just kind of make a play.
Speaker 8 (18:05):
Hey, could you tell us how the chemistry with Landman,
how that's worked. It seems to be very very very
positive most of the time. How how has that work
with you and the rest of the group.
Speaker 11 (18:16):
Yeah, I mean, Lambay eches it all the time, and
just do you one of eleven and make a play.
He literally says those two things all the time, like
my one my uh my college coach coach and Ussel
told me the same thing all the time. He said,
a first half of the play, like the first second
two seconds, just do your job after that do whatever
you have to do to make a play, and that's
what late Nate lamp Nate lamb Man lives.
Speaker 9 (18:34):
By Cool.
Speaker 10 (18:37):
Cooca.
Speaker 7 (18:38):
How are you feeling and tell us about your rehab process.
Speaker 10 (18:41):
Uh, I'm feeling great. It's a little bit harder than
I thought.
Speaker 12 (18:44):
Uh it was gonna be out here in California, but
it's scared to be back out on the football field,
moving around, getting a good sweat in, put my feet
in the ground.
Speaker 10 (18:51):
And it's been good. Yeah, we have a nice Thursday price,
so finally get to hit somebody.
Speaker 12 (18:54):
It feels like it's been Uh it's been too long
for sure, but it felt great to be back out there.
Speaker 10 (18:58):
How's that feels good?
Speaker 12 (19:00):
Rehab process was good on a mark that I get
to work with in Reggie. Our training our training room
staff does a great job the buye the time being
able to be spend back out here and get some
work in and feel like I can hit the ground
running come back this week.
Speaker 10 (19:15):
Uh, yeah, it was it was nice. U.
Speaker 12 (19:18):
Coach Nate does a good job of not communicating how
much he wants me to be in there, so you
get some you get some grind time during the week
to prepare yourself for Sunday, as as it should always be,
whether you're coming back from injury or not, these are
the days to go through that grind s.
Speaker 6 (19:30):
You're prepared and do you expect to play on Sunday?
Speaker 10 (19:33):
That's the plan. I'm feeling feeling fantastic.
Speaker 12 (19:35):
Uh yeah, feel ready to go.
Speaker 10 (19:38):
You can take us.
Speaker 6 (19:39):
Can you take us through what happened? You know, I
think it was the first time we at the opportunity
to speak with you since the injury. Can you you
kind of take us through that play and what happened
in the immediate aftermath, because it seemed like you got
up and then went down And.
Speaker 12 (19:53):
Yeah, so we had a go ball up in the
in the end zone trying to go up and Humphreys
was near defender and trying to make sure that man
he did not come down with that ball out of
if it wasn't if it wasn't gonna be me with
that ball. I was managed it wasn't him either, and
just kind of that impact falling backwards, my foot got
caught on the ground, kind of just sprained my ankle,
just rolled it. Really thought it was like just getting
(20:13):
the wind knocked out of me. Just of how I landed,
got up and I was like, oh, it's not definitely
not my back, but then uh yeah, I just uh
the adrenaline and the rest of want to not be
out there. I'm like they came in and like everything
for the most part, I was intact. So I'm like,
all right, if I can go out there, I know
I can. I can block duo for damn sure. So
I'll just get back out there and line back up
(20:34):
and then also just trying to contribute but also try
to be as safe as possible.
Speaker 9 (20:39):
Safe to say, the bye week came at a pretty
perfect time for you.
Speaker 12 (20:42):
Yeah yeah, never never a good time to be injured,
but the vide did land at a great time to
be able to rest and recover and get rejuvenized for
this this back half.
Speaker 4 (20:52):
There was a clip I think it was from the
Ravens game of you being pretty vocal on this sideline
with you know, a group of your teammates something that
I don't know, we've necessarily seen a ton to this
point from you. Just what prompted that, I guess, And
how have you maybe found your voice more as as
you've gained more experienced and you know, gradually or into
(21:13):
respect to your teammates.
Speaker 12 (21:15):
Yeah, I'd say it's something that just kind of came
naturally the the through the kind of moments throughout the game,
some of the frustrations and the emotions that we feel,
and just the standard I feel like we hold ourselves to.
We know how to operate, and especially in this offense,
the things that we communicate throughout the week really does
feel like we are truly preparing for games that the
game reality as best as we can. So some of that,
(21:35):
I'm like, man, I know the standard that we all
hold for ourselves.
Speaker 10 (21:38):
We want to get in that end zone.
Speaker 12 (21:39):
And that's something that we continue to that's a main
point for us every single week.
Speaker 10 (21:44):
So when we don't get in there, that that moment.
Speaker 12 (21:46):
Of like the disappointment of like I just think of
like my mom like say, I'm not I'm not mad
at you, I'm disappointed and I'm like, all right, that's
even worse.
Speaker 10 (21:54):
But I'm like, yeah, I want to get in the
end zone too. So you've taken.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
More of a by example, like the last couple of
years like this, you feel like year three more comfortable being.
Speaker 12 (22:06):
More I'd say, yeah, especially like it's it's been nice
to have the progression with some of the guys. For
some familiar faces, I know Kay Dot came here when
I was a rookie, obviously having Steve in the huddle
and Coleman Shelton returning and seeing so when we're in
the huddle, and obviously having guys like Alaran and Alerc
and Big Rob over there, and Big Rig has always
been next to me since I've been here, so that's somebody.
When we again in the huddle, I'm like, all right,
(22:27):
I'm watch him roll as dice and I know, I
know we're rolling. So the level of communication has definitely
growed from the rookie pooka to where we are now.
But it's exciting just to feel the energy and then
be able to help the guys just focus and go
out there and execute the best we can.
Speaker 6 (22:41):
What was that like to watch Davante kind of excel
in the red zone like that against the Jaguars.
Speaker 10 (22:48):
Your care from where you were sitting, Yeah, uh, it was.
Speaker 12 (22:51):
It was a little painful because I'm like, We've been
working on some handshakes and I'm like, I'm like, I
can't run out there to meet you in the end
zone as I as I would normally expect to, but
it was Sorry, I got this bug over here. But
it was just super exciting though, because we see this
stuff during practice. Some of the catches that he makes
me like, holy cal Like, man, if they were there
are cameras out there that was in the game, it
would be some of the best things ever. So since
finally see come to Fruition on Sundays, was was amazing
(23:15):
And to see those two get on the same page.
Speaker 10 (23:16):
But then also to see the excitement.
Speaker 12 (23:17):
That I know I've watched him play with and he's
he's had continually, but then also for him to feel
that the hard.
Speaker 10 (23:23):
Work be rewarded that I know he continually puts in.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
You are talked about wanting to look like drops come
back down the three last year and not so far
this season, Like it's not just gonna sort of strong
hits and to catch or what else.
Speaker 11 (23:38):
Goes into.
Speaker 12 (23:41):
I guess that's like a football loaded question, because I
mean as a receiver, I'm like, man, I'm gonna say, like, yeah,
stepping back to the ball obviously the ability that number
nine has, but just the whole operation I think of
trusting my teammates.
Speaker 10 (23:51):
It's something that I feel like it really allows me to.
Speaker 12 (23:53):
Play at the speed I can play it on the
football field, especially with Number nine, with the other receivers
out there, of all of us doing the dance together,
where whether it's a route concept of us being in
the run, just being able to be in sync with everybody,
I think it comes from a fool of full trust.
I go out there when we're in those eleven in
that huddle, there's a trust that is to the maximum.
Speaker 5 (24:15):
Jared Jared said that Emmanuel Forbes controls the music in
the locker room. What do you think about his song clubs.
Speaker 10 (24:23):
For Thursday practice? Thursdays are normally good.
Speaker 12 (24:26):
You know, I try to I mean I would say
I try to sneak in some songs on like some
Chris Lake or some Fisher every once in a while
to switch up the vibe from maybe some of the
rapper hip hop that we get just to. I'm like,
I'll throw on some jay Bug and some reggae too.
I think whenever that's normally for Friday. They try to
say that on like the Loha Friday vibes, but Forest
Forbes does a good job. I'm like Thursday, everybody's motivated
(24:46):
for Thursday probably is a little bit of a uh
what I want, Like it feels like offense defense.
Speaker 10 (24:51):
They're ready, like they're like they're game planning for us
in the locker room, but like this is a little intense,
but all right.
Speaker 7 (24:57):
Davante said that he feels like coun It reminds him
of his younger self as someone who is, you know,
a fan of Davante. Do you see that and what's
impressed you about Canante?
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Uh?
Speaker 10 (25:09):
I think there there's uh.
Speaker 12 (25:11):
The foundation of how Month likes to move is definitely
rooted and based in how we see Davante move, but
he also has his own kind of sauce and that
they're not very exactly similar body types.
Speaker 10 (25:23):
I think tayste a little bit taller.
Speaker 12 (25:25):
But to see how he's took in the notes of
watching Tay so closely, being able to ask the questions
how he doubles up at the line of scrimmage, how
he doubles up at the top of the route, and
just to see the nuance of his route. Running from
where we were in training camp to where we are
now has been It's been a fast progression, but it's
something that because he's always asking the right questions and
he he truly cares about his craft, so it's been
(25:45):
awesome to see
