Speaker 1 (00:00):
He's get the con on. You guys, got the coats
on at Chili La Mike.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
When you think about a top boless in the past
twelve years, and that was jumped out to you.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Employs involved schematically challenging. I mean in every facet, fronts, coverages,
pressure packages. His defenses have always been extremely good against
the run in normal situations. Having to go against him
in twenty one, specifically in New York, that was one
of the best run defenses that are gone against twenty
I think they were number one in the league nineteen.

(00:34):
And when we're in San Francisco opening up with them,
just tough stuff from first and second down, and then
you would think you'd get some relief on third down,
and here comes all the pressure packages and different looks
and different you know, multiple stuff that they do. So
a lot of respect for what he does as a coach,
a lot of respect for what he asked those players
are doing. They do it at a high clip. So
challenge cut out for us.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
From the winner of Seattle.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
What did you see, uh, in terms of the issues
on third down? For you guys, was was that them
just be a great defense or what do what do
you see that you even move.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
On for Sunday night.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Yeah, I mean I think it was. There's a lot
of things, you know, there's there's things that we could
have done better that you know, self inflicted type stuff
in terms of just matchups and whatnot, and there's you know,
give some credit to them. There's a reason they're one
of the best defenses. So they're coming up within the
next month. I don't know exactly when, so we'll be
able to dive back into that. I do know it's
a Thursday night game. I'm sure you guys know the

(01:29):
exact date. Again, I don't I know about there you go.
I know about Todd this Sunday, and that's about it
in Tampa. So but again, you know, we can fix
some stuff. Credit to them on some stuff and some
looks that they gave us. But we'll worry about that.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
That week.

Speaker 6 (01:44):
Had a couple of good performances earlier. Warren had a
couple of good performances earlier in the year, Like where
have you seen the most?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Yeah, just just the the physical maturity of the guy,
you know, in terms of going into this third year.
You know, he was beat up that first year and
that and obviously that's noted. Uh, he wasn't he wasn't
healthy out there in the practice field. So not only
you know, all those reps that you can bank, it's
just he wasn't him. He wasn't up to his standard
and you know the player that he can be. I

(02:10):
thought last year he took some strides obviously got out
there on the on the on the grass on Sundays,
and then as he played this year, he just got
better and better, whether it be on the practice field
and again the experience that he's gained on Sundays. So
have have zero, uh you know, alarm in terms of
him being out there because he's played good football and
I know the other ten guys on the field feel
the same way.

Speaker 6 (02:31):
Benefit for him in terms of just focusing on the right.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Side, Oh yeah, you know, I believe so you know,
I mean it's uh, what those guys do you know
up front, when you have to go from right to
left or you know from outside inside, I mean, that's
that's not easy, you know. I mean, so uh, for
him to be able to just kind of stick on
that right side with Alec being healthy, you know, it's
been big for him. Yes, So what's going through your mind?

Speaker 5 (02:59):
Breaking.

Speaker 7 (03:01):
We haven't seen a lot in his career, but last
game it seemed like.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
He yeah, no, I mean I think, you know, credit
to all the guys on you know, credit to the
right call at the right time by Sean, and then
credit to the guys executing you know what, we're good
looks right there. And then you know, we call it
the scholarship player that there's always going to be a
guy that's unblocked and can you make a miss? And
I thought Kyron did that at a at a high
clip on Sunday, you know, and I know you guys

(03:25):
can kind of picture what I'm talking about is he
was just kind of cross courting and you know, getting
some of those plays. So whether it be that first
run where he got thirty, you know, the short yardage
we ended up getting down to the one. So I
thought he looked I thought he looked grounded. I thought
he looked explosive. I thought he looked fresh. I think
that's a credit to Ron in terms of the rotation
that he's had with Blake. So you know, there's a

(03:46):
cumulative effect of this thing. This is a long season
on top of the training camp and we even all
here since July, and here we are getting close to thanksgiven.
So for those guys to split up those reps, I
think you're seeing the cumulative effects.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
Practices and meeting.

Speaker 8 (04:00):
What are the things he knows about the way that
Rob has supported and important Warren in his development.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah, Rob is a he's a stud, he's a dude.
He's a dude out there on Sundays. He's as tough
as they come. I've always had respect from Afar, my
brother when he was here was you know, Rob was
obviously here, So I've always known about Rob. Uh and
then just behind the scenes, you know, how he helps
those guys So kind of hard to explain in terms

(04:27):
of what exactly goes on in those meetings, but uh,
you know, he's a quiet guy by nature, but he's
got a lot of information and he's willing to share
that information. So I know, in his own way, he's helped,
he's helped warn sometimes just by his actions.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
Right.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
You know, scene is better than said, And if you
watch Rob, that's exactly what a right tackle should look like.
And I know those guys take note.

Speaker 9 (04:46):
Steve has been doninant since he's been turned to action
in your Grand Game, Ka Kad has been dominant all year,
just terrorizing the defensive one. Can you talk to me
about their importance along the offosite monk and how important
it is that the officsite mom along this fine.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Stretch, said KD like Kevin Durant or Kevin Dotson. We
call him k DOT. He's his own. But no, I
mean both those guys. Is a fair question, because both
those guys I think, if you know, done some great stuff.
Obviously k Dot has stayed healthy this whole year, and
I think I still think his best footballs ahead of him.
He can be as good as he wants to be.

(05:21):
And he is a joy to watch. I mean, you
guys see some of the stuff that in San Francisco and
all that, where he's you know, putting some guys on
the ground. Obviously there's been viral videos of stuff like that.
But he just continues to get better and he's he
is authentically himself every day. He really enjoys it. And
same with Steve. You know, Steve obviously missing time and
then be able to come back and again just to

(05:42):
send as a as a player in all the phases, protection,
run game, all that. Again, they've had a they've done
a good job, cohesively, you know, working together, whether it
be in combination or in protection. Again, a joy to
be around those guys too.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Kevin dogs H is a guy that has found a
new life here and he's not the.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Only player that's done that.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Speaking for the organization, why why do you feel guys
arriving here on a second chance play?

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Yeah, that kind of answered a question like this, I
think a year ago. You know, just it starts up
top ownership, sean less, just the whole vibe here, you know,
and vibe is a big deal. Uh. When you walk
in those doors, are you excited to actually come into
work and get better and prepare and do all the
things and have camaraderie with the guys and have some
you know, dialogue with the coaches whether it be about

(06:35):
football or not. There's just a great vibe. And it's
not even an extends past just coaches and players, just
anyone that's in this building that touches these guys. You know,
they're in it for the right reasons, you know. So
it's it's cool, it's uh. And I think you see
that with a guy like Cada and again I mean
he I mean Pittsburgh's you know, a pretty respected organization

(06:56):
that's won a lot of football games. So it's nothing
against them or by any means any other team. It's
just sometimes a change of scenery. But a lot of
time to answer your question. You know, you come in
here and guys enjoy coming into work each and every day.
Want improve as a person, to improve as a player.
I think you're seeing that.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
With him beginning that thoughts.

Speaker 10 (07:15):
And I guess Levanta Kibben and said that vibe you
were talking about was here and that he felt.

Speaker 6 (07:19):
Like this said kind of the waits fictid.

Speaker 7 (07:22):
Have you seen that just in like the appreciation for hearing.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Kind of the vibe cuture with Davante. Yeah, I mean
I think I think he's kind of answered that for
you guys. You know, And again I'm not I don't
ask DeVante that stuff. I just see a guy that
enjoys coming to work and chopping it up with all
his teammates. It doesn't matter who it is. DeVante is
talking with them. He knows every single guy. You know,
I don't know what they're talking about half the time.
I don't really care it's between players, but you know,

(07:47):
to your point, you know, I can tell when he
comes into those meetings, when he comes in the door,
when he gets out to practice, Davante is having a
good time. And you know there's something to that. Again,
you know, when you're enjoying what you're doing, you got
the right vibe. More times not it's gonna work out
for you. In particularly when you're a talented football player.
There's got to be a base line there obviously, and
we happen to have a lot of guys that have
that baseline talent for sure. So again it starts at

(08:11):
the top, but got the right people on board, and
it's pretty cool.

Speaker 8 (08:15):
Thanks where you saw having fun maybe not just talking
to people, but during practice or the building where you
saw it having that fun.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
And it stood up there.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Yeah, I mean it's hard for me to compare it
to anything. You know, I wasn't there in Green Bay.
I just know, you know, I wasn't there in Las
Vegas or anything like that, or New York with him
in New York. So you just kind of you just
see it daily with him.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
You know.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Again, it's uh, he chops it up with all these guys.
It doesn't matter if it's the scout team, d Lineman
or the specialist or whatnot. So again, just a guy
that really enjoys coming to work and working on his
craft and helping these other guys out, the young guys.
Pooka all of them, you know, in terms of all
the knowledge that he has up here.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Thanks guys, All right, how's everyone doing?

Speaker 7 (08:59):
So you had Baker Mayfield and you're building kind of
saw what he did. What's it going to be like
to scheme against him?

Speaker 5 (09:09):
I mean, loved him when he was here. It was
just an awesome guy. You know.

Speaker 11 (09:13):
Obviously it was a tough season and he brought a
joelt to energy to the end of that season, so
you know, you know, he's obviously a great teammate competitor. Really,
the thing is that we're emphasizing he's just the ultimate competitor.
The game's never over, the play is never over. You
just got to be ready to play four quarters, and
we know it's going to be a battle, and he's
a great player.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
Sunday we saw chris Py time to put a rotation
together on the fly, Like, what did you think about
how that group laid together in those circumstances and how
are you still evaluating? Like that rotation?

Speaker 5 (09:46):
I thought it was awesome.

Speaker 11 (09:46):
The communication on the sideline, the calmness of everybody of
exactly what we wanted to get done, how we wanted
to do it. I thought Josh Wallace went in and tackled,
did an excellent job, and the Kobe went in and
it did exactly what we know he can do. So
just the communication on the sideline was just was really good. Obviously,
you never wanted to use a player like you and
you know, it's kind of we've always said it where

(10:08):
you know, he's a guy that it's not just one
guy that replaces him. Really it's all eleven got to
step up the communication, the physicality that we got to
play with, and you know it's multiple guys that got
to wear that hat to fill his role.

Speaker 8 (10:18):
Rogers brought it.

Speaker 6 (10:20):
For depth there at the nectar position, like where do
you think he is in terms of his onboarding?

Speaker 5 (10:24):
Is he ready to play a bigger roy? Yeah, you know,
we're just seeing it this week.

Speaker 11 (10:28):
Obviously we brought him in not to just you know,
sit on the bench, so you know, we were excited
to see him out there communicating obviously still new to
the defense. Get him going. We got a lot of
guys in there that could play at Josh Wallace has
done a great job, to Kobe Durant's been in there,
done a great job. So, uh, you know, we're always
going to find ways to get our best eleven on
the field, and sometimes matchups dictate that, Sometimes the situation

(10:48):
in the game dictates that. Sometimes you know, what they're
doing on offense dictates it. So we got a lot
of guys that are capable of filling the role, and
obviously it's a huge role to fill.

Speaker 6 (10:59):
What are you think from a leadership perspective, interest is
play if they're not.

Speaker 11 (11:03):
Only yeah, the play is is just you're you're There's
not many guys you know in the league that are
capable of doing all the stuff that he does where
it's just set the edge of the wrong game man
a slot receiver, play a half field safety. Not a
lot of guys can do that. So it's gonna take
multiple hats to kind of fill that role, you know.
I I think the biggest thing is is, like you said,
the leadership, the communication.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
He is out there, how calm he is out there.

Speaker 11 (11:26):
And I think the underrated part of his game is
how physical and hard he plays. I think that kind
of defense has taken on his mentality and where it's
running the ball, everybody's finishing on the ball, and uh,
we just gotta keep that going. And I know Q's
gonna be here every day, you know, helping that out.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
You have a game where you have before interceptions and
a lot of stop for field goals. You look at
that and try to advance for what what do you
wanna be building on front of that?

Speaker 11 (11:53):
I think it's just just every week. That's the beauty
of football is win lose. No matter how you play,
no matter what you did, there's always gonna be stuff
you want to correct. There's always gonna be stuff to
build on that you did well. There's always gonna be
stuff that you want back that you want to correct.
Whether that's us as coaches putting the players in the
best position, whether that's the players executing what they're they're
supposed to do. I think there's always stuff that we

(12:14):
can build on correct and you know, it's always better
to do it after a.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Winery asked that week that he was here, he.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
Comes in and Sean talked about it yesterday. How what
you have to be above the net?

Speaker 2 (12:26):
What what jumps out of you about what he did
back to him.

Speaker 8 (12:30):
In that first week.

Speaker 11 (12:31):
Yeah, I mean obviously that week didn't really talk to
him too much. You know, he had a lot going on,
but uh, you know, got to know him after that game.
But no, it was just he was excited to go
play football, and you just it didn't matter the stakes,
it didn't matter what was going on. You can tell
he's a player that just loves football, loves the game.
And uh he's a guy that you would love to
have on your team in your opinion, what.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Are the Bucks missing not having Mike Evans and probably
for Bucky Irving too.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
Yeah, it's just like we talked about Q.

Speaker 11 (12:58):
I mean, there's not a lot of guys the NFL
that you could just replace Mike Evans with. And uh,
so you know, he's a guy that obviously dictates a
lot of coverage, does a lot of different things, and
he's as the unbelievable player and leader and has been
for a long time. We've obviously seen him a lot
over the years. Hadn't seen Bucky Irvin and obviously not
sure exactly what his status is, but uh, I know

(13:19):
he had a great year last year and obviously we
saw him some of the earlier games this year, and
he's a great player, dynamic back, and obviously we have
will have her hands full if he's ready to go.

Speaker 8 (13:30):
I know he's not around every day anymore, but what
pieces of Aaron do you see still.

Speaker 11 (13:35):
Reflected in the team it takes on. I think he'd
be proud of the way these guys work. He had
to saying hard work pays off, and he really believed
in the work. And I think he would be proud
of how is how especially the d line, how they
go about their their day, you know, winning the day,
having a process to get ready for a game, buying

(13:55):
into that process physically and mentally. They got a lot
of really good guys in that room.

Speaker 10 (13:59):
You know.

Speaker 11 (14:00):
That's what we make fun of Gift all the time.
We said he's got the easiest job. All those guys are,
you know, just the hardest workers, tough run to the ball.

Speaker 5 (14:08):
So, you know, I think Aaron Donna would be part
of that group.

Speaker 9 (14:11):
I think the rotation at quarterback qrnerback has done for
the performance.

Speaker 8 (14:15):
Of those three guys.

Speaker 11 (14:16):
It's just development, you know, And what's so cool is
just to see you know, it's funny. We were just
talking to the walkthrough because when Dwell got here, I
think it was twenty eighteen, his rookie year, you know,
a Kievan Marcus kind of took him under his wing,
and those guys were the guys that mentored him. And
now you see him kind of doing that with Forbes
and with Kobe and stuff, and you know, they're all

(14:37):
just support each other. And I think it's just we
can kind of either ride with the hot hand, Aubrey.

Speaker 5 (14:42):
Controls the rotation.

Speaker 11 (14:43):
We have a plan going in the in the game,
and we have a plan going into the week, and uh,
you know, I don't think they they're really happy for
each other's success.

Speaker 5 (14:50):
So that's really cool to see you do as good
as Quinton Lake and as well as your secondaries playing.

Speaker 6 (14:56):
What's the balance between binding like a collection of guys
to do some of what he was doing versus having
to tailor into what those guys do.

Speaker 11 (15:03):
Well that way, he's unique, No, exactly, and that's the
beauty of coaching figuring that out every single week. And uh,
obviously we're real, real familiar with what q did really well.
We saw him all training camp and and obviously all
your last year and you know, now he's not gonna
be out there, So it's about kind of figuring out
with you know, what's best for the defense, but also

(15:23):
what's best for the person that's filling that role and what.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
He does best.

Speaker 11 (15:27):
And uh, you know, we're always gonna do what the
players do best, and uh, and what's best for the
defense as well here in the building.

Speaker 9 (15:34):
Right now, him going to Tampa Bay. How would you
describe the person and.

Speaker 5 (15:38):
The player, elite competitor, great teammate.

Speaker 11 (15:42):
You know, he was a guy, you know, just just
being the uh secondary coach. You know, I actually talked
to him a lot, just kind of whether you're kind
of standing there during special teams or things like that,
and uh, just the guy that that really enjoyed being around,
kind of had.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
A love for football, really a love for life.

Speaker 11 (15:57):
And uh and just the elite competitor, like I said
or earlier, a guy that's never going to back down
from anything. And uh, you know it's guys, it's gonna
be tough going against cool appreciate you guess how.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Are feeling, Stu?

Speaker 12 (16:12):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (16:14):
I'm good? Am I booger free? Then it's a good day.
It's a good day.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
Who you guys got three guys going on the i
R that are important pieces.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
Obviously everyone's gonportant.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
Piece, But can you talk about the next man of
mentality that your locker room has built over the course
of this year.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
Yeah. I think it's something that coach mentions all the time,
modeled the way.

Speaker 10 (16:35):
And I think of those three guys who who are
are going on IR and being the best examples we
have on this team, including Matthew, of being modeled in
the way, the consistent that they show up within the
weight room, in the film room, and I'll don the
football field. It's something that I know is in the
rooms and it will definitely be a challenge for everybody
to model the way.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
And like they've seen before, you look at Howard defends
is scheming not just.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
You yourself with the team. When you look at what
Campa does with coach Bowles, which stands out what's what's
his thumb.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
Breath that they do?

Speaker 10 (17:11):
Uh, I guess they try to try to cause as
much chaos if it forces communication. I think that's the
biggest thing and something that if like we pride ourselves
in our operation and uh, I know number nine hides
that holds himself to a high standard and his ability
to communicate on pre snap and post snap with the
ball and verbally. So it'll be a fun challenge for
us for everybody to be on the same page, but
definitely a little bit of chaos.

Speaker 8 (17:33):
It's being celebrated during Sunday's game. Just when you think
about his legacy and the impact he's had on this franchise,
what what sticks out to you.

Speaker 10 (17:41):
I think it's something that coach Coach mcvah has said
recently is the is the game honors toughness.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
And if you've ever seen.

Speaker 10 (17:49):
The guy number ninety nine walk on the football field
or even out here on the practice field, you know
that his game is toughness. And uh, it's something that
is that we feel like it's an identity of ours.
And uh, when you see something like that, going back
to modeling the way and as that a little bit
of juice inside you.

Speaker 7 (18:04):
Davante Adams has a thousand catches. Can I'm sorry, I
don't know your exact number, but can you can you
imagine catching having that many receptions?

Speaker 10 (18:18):
No, I guess I'm like, yeah, I'm like I feel
like I've caught a lot of footballs in my life,
and I'm like, I don't even think I've accumulated a
thousand and all the years I've played football, so to
do it in the NFL at the highest level is uh.
It's a blessing to be around him, and it's it's
been an exciting journey for our room to watch his
process and how he's worked, even going into being in
year twelve, right now of the guy you saw DeVante
Adams watching in Green Bay and now where he's in

(18:40):
He's in our meeting room. So it's been really cool
to see and it's been fun to be a part
of that process. DeVante said he's having fun this year
like his work, and I was talking about it too,
and what.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Ways have you seen him?

Speaker 10 (18:49):
I guess just find joy in being at the facility.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
This year and being a fifteen.

Speaker 10 (18:55):
I think some of the things I can think back
of early on in OTA's and during training camp of
being like, Wow, how do I talk to Jared Verus.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
To shut him up a little bit?

Speaker 10 (19:05):
So I think that communication and some of the relationships
you build and the times you get to hang out
in the real room, and I think that the authentic
leader that he is has kind of allowed.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Him to feel more comfortable and.

Speaker 10 (19:16):
To have the conversations not only in our receiver room,
but to the D line, to the linebackers.

Speaker 3 (19:21):
Just who he is as a person has.

Speaker 10 (19:23):
Kind of molded I think allowed him to be like,
all right, these guys are kind of funny. Verse does
never stop talking, but it's also funny to hear him
talk sometimes.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
Maybe never seen.

Speaker 8 (19:32):
A player talk to so many different players in different
position groups as guests.

Speaker 10 (19:36):
DeVante, do you see that too, Yeah, he's he's everywhere.
I'm like sometimes I'm like, I know I'm not always
the first one in our meetings, but I know if
he's not in there, he's he's hanging out with the guys.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
He to a football.

Speaker 9 (19:50):
It's the toughness that a eximplopod while he was here.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
How did the ball home?

Speaker 9 (19:55):
You?

Speaker 3 (19:57):
I think?

Speaker 10 (19:57):
And making sure that the football saying is keep your
head on a swivel. I know in my my first
trading camp again, some of the run plays and some
of the blocking plays are you're going back across the
line of scrimmage and then uh, you trust everybody to
do your job so you don't think about, man, I'm
gonna run into the defensive tackle right here. But with
the abilities that Ad had, it happened a couple of times.
So making sure like man, uh, I gotta be on

(20:19):
my piece and cues at all moments. I wish I
in my in my best dreams, I don't think I
win those battles.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
It's tough in this league to continue to stack w's.
There's so much parody getting up weekend week out. Just
playing on Sunday night though, in front of the country
out a little juice that maybe can help you guys
a little bit.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
I think it's exciting for us.

Speaker 10 (20:48):
The mindset we're going is this they're big games because
we're the Los Angeles Rams are playing in it, and
I think that's kind of the mentality that we've adopted
and being like we uh the standard that we have
for ourselves is what's pushing us to form every every
day and to have the performance that we want to
have on Sunday. So it's exciting because we know that
all the jerseys will be uh where say in La

(21:08):
Rams on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Jamel Dean is a guy.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Jamel Dean is a guy that's been in the league
for a long time.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
What stands out about his game. Sorry, I couldn't hear you.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Dean up what stands out about his game?

Speaker 10 (21:20):
I think that some of the in the in their
entire secondary is the length that they have in in
that position group. So so it's nice to to get
some of these privticies and go against some of our
guys when we get our our one uh ones versus
one reps, and to take advantage of the guys we have.
We have somebody who has great, great length in Emmanuel
Forbes and Kobe Durant, all the all of our dbs
who have different skill sets. So it's nice to get
to challenge ourselves before we get out there on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
Practicing in the rain. They didn't take you back to
your Washington.

Speaker 10 (21:46):
Or days, definitely, the no gloves took me back to
Washington for sure. I'm like they're luckily. I'm like, there
wasn't too many rainy days. I'd rather take the snowy
days in promo than the range for sure. Them like
it's easier to catch the gloves and catch the gloves
and snow than it is in the rain.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Change the way you do things.

Speaker 10 (22:02):
It all out there, I think as an extra level
of focus and concentration where my visor during so I'm like,
I don't have a talel so I'm like, it adds
a little there's a little water all over my face mask.
So as a challenge to concentrate and catch the ball,
but then also to work your fundamentals and your technique
while out there, the grass may not be where you
expect it to be, so being able to really focus

(22:23):
in on your technique.

Speaker 8 (22:26):
Have some of the interest that.

Speaker 7 (22:27):
Happened to Rob how to spot it?

Speaker 10 (22:28):
Kind of Yeah, I think you never want to see
anybody go down, especially with some of the stuff we've
seen on the opposite side of the ball. But then
I think the leadership that those two have in the room,
and then the next man up mentality that we have.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
I think of Big Rob and Higgs.

Speaker 10 (22:42):
Of how much of the communication I've had with them
being out there on the field, but I know that
they have in their rooms. I know Tyler Higby, he
I feel like sometimes is a little bit of a
quiet guy, but I know in that meeting room he's
communicating with the young guys who are getting a lot
of these reps for some of the first times.

Speaker 5 (22:57):
Thank you, Hello, What what.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
Do you like about playing uh Sunday night football in
front of the entire country.

Speaker 12 (23:11):
I mean, we're not playing at one o'clock for once.
But uh now it's it's cool. I mean knowing that,
like all the lights on you, all cameras on you,
it's like you the Pie Time Show.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
It's it's cool. It's a good feeling, like you you're going.

Speaker 6 (23:20):
Up against a quarterback who likes to talk a little bit.
It's that kind of gets you excited.

Speaker 12 (23:24):
Oh no, I've been wanting to play Baker for a
very long time. I've been admiring him since he was
in college and everything like that. Looking at him, I'm like, damn,
I wann I wanna up against him. Now, finally get
that opportunity it's going. I'm excited for it.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
What makes him it's so good at escaping from pop
game place?

Speaker 12 (23:39):
I think I think it's just the ability that he
has kind of a mindset of a defensive player, like,
no matter what it takes, I'm gonna make a play,
which could be detrimental at times, but for him it's
not that, you know, it doesn't put him in a
bad spot. You know other quarterbacks that they're doing a
bunch of stuff they're throwing picks off that it's doing
all sight sorts of crazy things. He's kind of real
in control when he has that ball in his in.

Speaker 5 (23:55):
When you were.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
Watching him and when you was at Oklahoma or and
you said, I want to go against him, was there
a specific moment or was it his demeanor?

Speaker 1 (24:04):
What was it?

Speaker 5 (24:04):
It was at Kansas game?

Speaker 8 (24:05):
That was it?

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Yeah, it was that game.

Speaker 12 (24:07):
That was a game. I was like, yeah, that's a
that's a dog. I want to go against him one day.
I didn't even carefully he's on the same team or
something in practice. I just wanted to go up against him.

Speaker 5 (24:14):
He was like, has there been.

Speaker 9 (24:16):
Any preparation in time of trash talk?

Speaker 3 (24:18):
But you have Florida Bakers.

Speaker 12 (24:19):
I mean, yeah, he's a quarterback that can do it all.
He can run the ball, he gets skaped the pocket. Obviously,
he's a quarterback where it's like he's not one of
the quarterbacks who wants to run like every play like
he wants to just make a play, you know, get
the ball downfield, you know, do something that can help
his team. So that adds its own kind of problems
in and of itself.

Speaker 9 (24:34):
So if you get a sack against him. Do you
have do you already have something to playing that you're
going or say to him.

Speaker 12 (24:39):
Oh nah, I'm just going to do it. I never
talked to a quarterback after the sack. I talked to
Crazy to him and after a play, but after a sack,
I just kind of celebrated my team Jordan's.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
In twenty two, he came in here on five days
rest and won a game.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Were you at Florida State?

Speaker 5 (24:53):
Then you remember.

Speaker 12 (24:54):
That I was at twenty two? I was, yeah, I
was at first aid. I just got to plus if.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
You remember that game, but all he comes in on
a Thundesday, Thursday night.

Speaker 6 (25:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (25:03):
I remember seeing the interviews afterwards of him like kind
of with Sean and everybody, like kind of learning the
plays on the way to the hotel, on the way
to the facility, and I was like, damn, that's that's
It takes me a couple weeks, a couple of months
to kind of get the playbook hand in hand. The
quarterback that knowledge is that much more further than mine.
So I was like, I got a lot of respectful him,
not just on the aspert the way he can do,
but the knowledge aspect that he has Jared.

Speaker 8 (25:23):
When you first got here, what did you notice about
the way that Aaron Donald's legacy continued to have an
impact on this building? And then by extension like what
is his mentorship even in retirement continue Like what's that
meant to you?

Speaker 12 (25:36):
I Mean, the one thing everybody brings up about him
more than anything isn't anything that he did on the field.
It's nothing that he did, you know, outside of you know,
helping others and everything like that. It's how hard you work.
Last the one thing everybody talks about. You know, Sean
talks about two people. Whenever he talks about hard work,
he talks about Kobe and he talks about Aaron Donald.
So to hear that, I'm like, all right, Like to
get to the point that he's at, get to the
point that Kobe's at, to get to the point those
great at you have to work that much harder than

(25:57):
everybody else.

Speaker 7 (25:58):
On Sunday night, a gonna be honoring him in the stadium,
different kinds of things. Any special motivation for you guys
as defensive lineman with him kind of being singled out there.

Speaker 12 (26:09):
Let's put the show on for him.

Speaker 10 (26:12):
Well stands out about Tristan girths and just you know
how he plays the position.

Speaker 12 (26:16):
I'm not gonna lie in here word you said he
stands Tristan works. Oh yeah, No, he's a big He's
a big, strong dude. I mean, I think everybody saw
that video of him jumping out the pool. I didn't
see until this week any kept mentioned it. I don't
like what the I'm talking about. But no, no, he's
very at league. He's very small. He savvy in the
aspect that the way he plays and the way he
can attack you in different ways and give you different sets.
He's a he's a smart ut black player.

Speaker 9 (26:38):
The loss of quick wake, I guess just how difficult
is that to deal with as a defense and what
is a defensive line?

Speaker 5 (26:45):
What can you guys do differently or more up to
help the.

Speaker 12 (26:48):
Guys that I mean, you know, first things first, we
always have amazing backups. I mean that things. That's one
of the things that we have that you know. Josh
Wallace is coming in and he does everything he can like.
He's fast, he's strong, he's smart, he understands the way
he has to be what he has to do. Any aspect,
where's the balls at? Where his help's at So I'm
not worried about anything in that aspect of us doing
anything different. We could just keep attacking. The biggest detriment
is that's one of our leaders, and that's the dude

(27:09):
that brookes down every Friday, every Thursday, every Wednesday at
the end of practice.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
He always talked to us.

Speaker 12 (27:13):
He always told us how a special each of us
are and everything like that. And the lose a brother
in that aspect. And obviously, you know, he's gonna be okay.
He has successful surgery. He's gonna be back real soon,
hopefully in time for playoffs. So we can you know,
make that good run. But nah, it's uh, it sucks,
but he's gonna be great.

Speaker 9 (27:27):
Who assumes that role in the instrument?

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Uh?

Speaker 12 (27:30):
You know, Lambman has definitely stepped up in that much
more so speaking role. Landman leads on the field, he
leads in like you know, when he's calling the players
and everything like that. For him to take that spot
of you know, Q Lake spot. Kobe Turner has done
that too, Like they're both kind of taking up that
kind of more so. Uh, giving that like long long
speech that they give on Wednesdays and Thursdays. To know,
that he's taking over like they're taking over.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
It's a good feeling.

Speaker 5 (27:50):
Cool extra make sure that's
