Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know, first of all, congrats to the Dodgers being
able to go back to back.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Awesome for those guys. It was fun.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
What a game seven, you know, what a job by them,
you know, coming back from down three to two, and
we enjoyed watching that.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
In the team meeting room.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
There's a lot of guys that were fired up, you know,
really our whole team. So congratulations to Dave Roberts and
the whole crew. So happy for them. And you know,
we'll see if we can continue to do some good
stuff like they did. But I was pleased with the
way that our group came out today. I think, really
the last two weeks, it's been a good example of
you know, a lot of our practice, preparation, practice, performance
equaling game reality. Can't say enough about the defense, just

(00:35):
make it stop after stop. You know, Lambman gets another one,
Forbes gets his first interception, Kobe Turner has a great
stop on fourth down. You know, I mean, you're talking
about three possessions in a row where they don't come
away with any points. And then I thought, offensively, Matthew
was in total command. I thought our offensive line was excellent.
You know, that's a tough prideful group, and I thought
we had command of the game really from the jump.

(00:57):
I know you guys are gonna ask me, it's got
to get better. You know, we're we're gonna be able
to figure out how to be able to fix this.
But it can't continue like this. With regards to our
kicking operation, I'm not going to get into blaming anybody specifically.
Ultimately it's my responsibility. It's gone on for too long
and we got to be able to fix it. But
I'm really you know, I don't want to be negative

(01:17):
after there were so many positives from our group as
a whole that was obviously not ideal. We've leaned into it,
and there are some instances where it's not getting better,
and so we got to be able to figure that out.
But ultimately that responsibility falls on me. But I am
really proud of our football team as a whole. I
thought our defense and offense were excellent. I thought Ethan
Evans with the two punts that he did have to hit,

(01:40):
excellent job being able to pin them deep. And then
the one that we did end up having to cover
when we were backed up. You know, it was a
really good job by our coverage unit. So we'll put
a positive spin on that. How's that for you, Gary,
don't ask me about the field goal operation.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
All right, So Pooka's good, you know, I think he's
gonna be good, Sarah. He got his ribs.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
He could have come back in the game, but we
kind of had command, felt like it was the smart thing,
and you know, he didn't. You know, he could have
come back in, but we kind of aired on the
side of caution. Another guy stepped up and did a
really nice job today.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
That's my guy right there.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
You guys are a type of person NFC. What do
you like about this team movie?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
For sure? You know, here's what I liked, Tommy. I
like the fact that we're getting better.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
I can feel as starting to play really good, complimentary ball,
especially offensively and defensively off of one another. I think
we're getting out to some early leads where you kind
of feel like you have a little bit of command,
relinquished a little bit of momentum at the end of
the half where they cut it to a ten point game,
but you could feel our guys came out. I love
the fact that we were able to sustain a long
drive that ended up in a touchdown offensively to start

(02:46):
the second half. But you know, it's a combination. I think,
you know, the coaches are doing a great job. I
think the players ultimately are the ones that bring it
to life. But there's just a good vibe. There was
a good sense of urgency, a good enjoyment for the
appropriate urgency in that balance of enjoying it, and I
think that showed from our week of preparation. I think
we've really stacked two good weeks together. Matthew's been outstanding,

(03:07):
other Kyeron ran really well today. It was good to
be able to see him punch that in. But there's
a lot of stuff that we could build on, and man,
there's a lot of stuff that we can clean up,
which is what's encouraging because we're gonna need to play,
you know, we're gonna need to continuously improve throughout the season.
It's one game, but to be six and two after
eight is a good start, and I think we've.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Learned a lot about our group.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
And what a great challenge to go to Levi against
an excellent opponent that we got a ton of respect for.
And I'm looking forward to getting started with that preparation.
You know, when we finish up, we enjoy tonight and
then get rolling on the niners.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Evaluating. You know, here's what I would say.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
I it's it's about acknowledging, you know, the totality of
where the issues are.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
And again, I.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Don't think this is the venue or the setting to
be able to blame anybody.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
That's never what I've believed. But we've got to be
able to get it fixed. And it is. It's truly,
it takes all eleven And there's some.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Instances that I could go in depth of what occurred,
but that doesn't move us forward in the right way. Ultimately,
I got to be able to you know, figure out
all right, collectively with our coaches, all right, let's address
the issues, let's see what the possible solutions.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Are, and then where we go from there.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
But also being.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah, that's awesome, I'm glad you brought that up.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
I should have acknowledged that I did with the team
right there, eighth all time and receiving touchdowns one hundred
and nine is it artists?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:29):
So, I mean, what a what a credit to his
just consistency, his body of work, his greatness.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
And uh, he's one of those guys man.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
I mean he made some big time clutch catches in
the red area.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
He's obviously got five in the last two weeks.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
And you know, he's a stud I love everything that
he's about, love working with him. It truly is a blessing.
And uh, he's brought so much to our group. But uh,
you know it's a it's a real credit. You know,
we always talk about, you know, the the truest measurement
of performances that consistency, and he's been consistent over the
course of his career and he's brought a lot to
our football team.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
I love Devonte Adams.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Office line past.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I thought they did a great job. Dennis.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
I thought, really they had control. You know, that's a
good rush. That's a lot of guys that played physical.
You know they're they're there are defense that have a
ton of respect for you. Look at what they did
against a great offense last week in Tampa Bay.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
But I thought our offensive line was outstanding.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Ryan Windell, Zach Kromer and Brian Allen had those guys
ready to go. I think our tight ends were an
extension of the run game and that protection, you know,
with Kolbe Davis Tyler hab and Terrence Ferguson, and you know,
I'm really pleased with them.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
I think they're just getting better.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
I think we're able to mix up some of these
different personnel groupings and present some different stuff, and today
was a great step in the right direction. I thought
they strained across the board. I was really proud of
all five of those guys. And you know, Warren mcclennan's
done an excellent job. It was great to be able
to get Robb back there. I thought he battled both
of our edges are two guys on the inside with
k Dodd and Steve and then Cohen Shelton leading the

(05:54):
way with his command and his communication.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
It was awesome.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Expressing yeah, moving forward is one of the options bringing someone.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Yeah, I think no, you know, I think there's a
lot of instances. I think when you look at it,
what I would say is I got I got confidence
in Josh. You know, there's a lot of layers to it,
and you know, we'll evaluate all.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Parts of it.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
And so I think, uh, no, different than you know
when you're throwing interceptions or whatever it is. I think
naturally the narrative shifts towards the kicker, and that might
not always.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Be the case.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Being a championship team, you would just keep just digging
in on this. No, it's going to cost us. It's
cost us already, you know, and it's and it's got
to be. It's been a momentum killer. It does take
the air out of our sales. Our guys have shown
that they can respond and overcome it, but you do

(06:51):
have to be you know, the harsh and the truth
of it is is this, this is not sustainable to
continuously go where we want to go. And that's really
just trying to be able to go get our seventh
win against an.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Excellent football team. And we're fortunate that we've gotten away
with it.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
But it has cost us, you know, throughout the season,
and that's something that you can't run away from.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
That's the truth.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
But what I will say is that I hopefully you
can appreciate in respect is that the granular elements of
why it has or hasn't gone down, I don't necessarily
think there's the appropriate time to acknowledge that. I don't
believe in, you know, putting anybody out there, and it
does fall back on you know, it is my responsibility
to be able to figure it out, and I thought

(07:31):
we were training in the right direction and today was
a step back, and that's disappointing. That's unfortunate. Yeah, we've
seen that particularly all the things that you really just mentioned.
You know, it's just great command, great understanding of what
he's seeing, great ability to be able to distribute the
ball based on what the coverage dictates. I think he's

(07:52):
pushing the ball. I think he's understanding situationally, what's the
right way to be able to play it. I just
have total confidence where you can call the game through him,
and he's done a great job of taking care of
the football.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
He's not putting the ball in harm's way.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
He's understanding the different situations that arise, and you know,
for him to be able to you know, again, just
another game where he's in total command, and we're sure
grateful to be able to have him running the show.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
For us experienced quarter guard.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
What's the formula an inexperienced quarterback. Yeah, I think it's
really just, you know, try to impose our will, earn
the right to be able to rush him to get
into some of those third down situations. We had a
ton of respect for for them, their coaching staff, their outfit.
I mean, they got skill all over the place, you know,
with you know, Shaheed with the lave.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Obviously, Kamar has been doing it for a long time.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Johnson at the tight end, Brandon Cooks is a guy
that we know well in love and so you know,
it was about earning the right to be able to
rush and dictate the terms where you kind of feel
like you have the pen defensively, and I felt like
that was the case a lot. But Shuck's a guy
that's gonna be a good player in this league. And
you know, wish those guys the best.

Speaker 6 (08:55):
Thoughts on besides the Dodgers winning, and it was so
great way they did it. Yeah, about the La Pride
factor from a sports standpoint overall and what it does
to the city and.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
How you guys want to be on top of that
as well.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Yeah, you just mentioned it. I mean, when you you're
inspired when you watch the.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Way that they competed, the way that they overcame some adversity.
I mean you look at the run that they had
where they don't lose it, they don't drop a game.
Getting into the World Series, you go down three to two.
You know, you see some videos too. I think, you know,
just the culture that they have when you listen to
the way that those players talk about one another, the
way that Dave Roberts has really found guys that they
play for each other.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
They stay connected, they stay in the.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Moment, and they inspire me and I know they inspire
our group, and so you know, hopefully we can continue
to represent the city the way the Dodgers did. Really
happy for those guys.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
All right, thanks about the four touchdown. Then you have
five touchdowns against Jacksonville. What do you attrite that to you? Oh? Yeah,
I mean they've done a hell of a job keeping
me clean.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
We've done a nice job of getting down in there
when we've gotten in you know, gotten down close.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
We've done a great job of scoring.

Speaker 5 (09:59):
I've see DeVante has been great down there, was great
again down there today.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
You know, Higgs had one down in there too.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
So it's, uh, it's a collection of everybody that's uh,
you know, we're at our best.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
A lot of people are touching the football.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
And you know, it's been a it's been a lot
of fun, obviously, and I can't do any of that
stuff if I'm not standing upright.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
So our guys up front are doing a hell of
a job.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
You guys talk a lot about calling and off like
what you called previously on previously, like what is thirteen
personnel kind of put for this offense in terms of previous.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Well, we just have talented guys, you know.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
I mean, it wouldn't be if you had thirteen personnel
out there and he didn't believe in the guys that
you had out there, then it wouldn't be that good.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
But we do.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
We have great players really at all positions, you know,
on the offensive line, and then and then our skill guys.
Sean's doing a hell of a job, you know, devising
plans for us to go up there and be successful,
and our guys are executing.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
So it's a lot of fun mixing and matching.

Speaker 5 (10:54):
Still have some stuff that you know, bread and butter
for us, and then we're you know, building building on
stuff that we've done.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
The last couple of week weeks, you know, more and more.
So it's it's been a lot of fun.

Speaker 6 (11:02):
Matthew Sean just had a really nice discussion about a
Dodgers winning it and the way they wanted and the
l a pride factor that certainly it's a personal thing
for you too because of your closest with Clayton, but
just overall feeling and all that.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
So happy for him, so proud of him. It's awesome.
What a team. A ton of pressure on him coming
into the beginning of the season, and man, that's not
an easy thing to play with, you know, the entire season,
and I thought they did a hell of a job.
I mean, Yamamoto was unbelievable in the series and and
really their whole team had clutch performances from a bunch
of different guys and that's what it takes to win.
And it was really cool. We were in the real

(11:38):
room kind of last night, everybody watching and when ROAs
hit the dinger, man, we were all going crazy. So
we were we were pulling for him big time. It
was fun to watch. And that was the shortest team
meeting before a game. We like ran up in the
top of the tenth, ran back down to the bottom
of the tenth to see it, see it all go down.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
It was It was a lot of fun.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Just a couple of weeks ago, you and Devonte Love
talked about how you wanted to get more efficient in
the connection and five touchdowns.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
In two weeks, So just from your perspective, what's kind
of gotten that connection going? Just continue to work together.
He's a great player, he's an unbelievable teammate. You know,
he's a you know, one of the all time greats.
I mean, it was unbelievable he's able to do today,
getting in i think eighth place it was all time
and receiving touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
That's so cool. It's cool to be a part.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
Of it, you know, get to share the field with
guys that have done it for a long time at
a high level like him. So just continue to work together,
continue to play and and realize, hey, how can I
be better?

Speaker 3 (12:31):
How can we be better? And go from there.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
And he was great today and and uh just happy
for his success and what he brings to our team.
The touchdown pass, yeah yeah, it was a great route. Obviously,
our guys up front did a great job give me protection.
I was able to kind of hold the post player
just for a click and then peeked out of the
corner and saw that that poop did a nice job

(12:53):
of getting you know, getting.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Behind him, and uh put into a good spot.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
You know, it was a left My hand felt pretty
good and ended up pretty good, so I was happy
for it. Obviously, great catchback Pook to come down with
it right there to tapping and getting in, so you know,
he had another great day today. So just fun to
be a part of this team. Fun to get to
work with the guys that we get to work with
because of the people they are. You know, they're great players, yeah,
but it's it's fun because of the people that they
are and we get to you know, share victories like

(13:20):
this in the locker room together and then come back
to work and get ready to go.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
About the way hiring range.

Speaker 6 (13:25):
What stood out to you about.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
The way hiring range?

Speaker 5 (13:28):
I mean, I feel like that's what the kirraen I'm
used to seeing I always see. You know, I thought
he and Blake did a hell of a job today
physical a bunch of runs. They kind of got strung
out that you know, I would hand it and and
I'd be doing my uh, you know, fake on the backside,
and I kind of lose him in there, and next
thing I know, it's you know, second and two. You know,
he's doing a great job of picking and choosing and
and finding lanes and running physical. There was that one

(13:50):
run down late in the game by the goal line.
I mean you got hit behind the line of scrimmage
and then all of a sudden he's down at the
two yard line. I mean he did a he did
a great job running, So just happy for him.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
It like getting ready to block on getting ready.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
I threw the pads in there a little bit. I
ran by Sean Smith the running. After that, I was like,
I'm too old for that. He was like, smart decision,
smart decision. I was like, man, I kind of took
a lick there, but uh no, yeah, I mean I
don't know what I was doing.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
I was just playing until Blake quit cutting it back.
So but yeah, it was fun.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Wins.

Speaker 6 (14:27):
What what stands out to you? Uh, what's the growth
of this team at this page?

Speaker 5 (14:31):
Continuing to grow? You know, I mean it's not like
we've got it all figured out. Just try to continue
to play team football. I thought our guys on the
defensive side of the ball did a great job starting
the game the way they started, and we can go
down and score early and and give them a lead.
It's a that's a good recipe for us. And and
then you know, they were a great jobs, did a
great job before since some turnovers late and we were
able to you know, capitalize and score on some of
that too.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
There's still things to clean up.

Speaker 5 (14:52):
I gotta keep continuing to find ways to uh to
put more points on the board. Keep doing that, but uh,
proud of our guys and proud of the win.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Continue to get on the same page.

Speaker 3 (15:01):
A continued to put.

Speaker 6 (15:03):
That work in and get on the same page.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
How different is the input you give to one another.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
You can be an adventurer and coming in and you
established yourself as.

Speaker 5 (15:12):
Versus H No, I mean, I think, you know, DeVante
is a really sharp guy. We had, you know, some
stuff at the line of scrimmage today that he and
I were communicating on and and uh, you know, worked
out for us, did a nice job. So I got
a ton of trust and respect, and you know, his
aptitude to go out there and play, and his you know,
his mental capabilities. And then it's a whole lot of
fun when he's when he's talking to me, he's giving

(15:32):
me great information, you know, and and we're just trying
to collaborate and make sure that we're on the same
page as much as possible.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
That guys that last touchdown the first person him.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Yeah, you're talking about that's something else to worry about.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
It You guys have had moving apart, so on offensive
line diversity for this year, that's something that last year stalled.
The offense guys have really consistent this year even through that,
Like what is the difference this year?

Speaker 5 (15:58):
You know, I think some of the guys that played
last year, you know, are some of the guys that
have been filling in, you know, when we've had rotational
stuff going on, and that that uh, you.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Know experience is really valuable.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
You know, I think I gotta give a lot of
credit to the guys that we bring in, you know,
to our front office. The guys that we bring in
are ready to play. And sometimes in the NFL, you
got you know, injuries and things that happen that are
gonna force you to have other guys step up and
make plays. And and you know, it's it's cool to
watch a guy like Xavier Smith get more you know,
snaps out there and.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
He's just developing.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
You gotta give a lot of credit to his coaches
and Sean everybody to pours into him to uh, you know,
bring guys along. And the more guys, like I said,
the more guys that we have ready to play and available,
and they can contribute a positive way to our team.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
The better, the better everybody feels in there and and
the better we are
