Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, guys, you know, great job by our group to
find a way. A lot of respect for the way
that those guys have played.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Obviously, this is a really tough atmosphere to come into
on the road. They had one two straight here.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
There was a lot of momentum that they had had
they were coming off thereby you know, obviously didn't start.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Out the way that we wanted. But I thought our
defense played really well. I thought they may have snapped
it one more time.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
They were able to string together some drives, but I
thought we came up really clutch in the red area.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
That ended up being the difference, but it only being
a six to nothing game.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
It was a really weird deal where you only had
free possessions in the first half. You go three and
out right off the jump on a keeper, where then
we miss on first down and the second down only
get three yards, and then obviously not to convert on
the third down, and then we ended up going down
the field on the second drive like what we had
on the fourth and free just didn't end up connecting.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
But I thought we were able to get the run
game going a little bit, and.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
The third drive was kind of the same, and then
we just obviously weren't able to convert, but the guys
came in. We ended up getting ourselves together really kind
of let us understand exactly what's real what isn't. And
I thought they did a great job of being able
to respond playoff one another. Defense got timely stopped when
they had to, a great job by burst to close
it out. And then I thought offensively, I thought Kiren
ran really well. I thought corn Ryan ran really well.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
I thought our offensive line set the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
In the run game, we really started slowing the past game,
but I thought Matthew was excellent in the second half.
We were able to get some different things off of
those run actions going and that ended up being the
difference in the game where you are to spot twenty
one in the second half. So very pleased with the
way that we finished the game. Always going to be
stuff to clean up or take the win.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
You've talked a lot in the past about Wepener chief
Kyron Brands.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
How did you kind of feel that manifesting in the
course of the week.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
You know, I thought it was I thought there was
a lot of stuff that came to life throughout the
course of the week that showed up in practice translated
into the game, and what I was really proud of
our group with Adam is that.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
I think they understood six y nothing. It was a
little misleading in terms of how it went the way
that it went down. They did a good job of
turning off a lot o'clock and.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Those possessions were at a minimum for you to be
shut out in the first half. But we kind of understood, hey,
let's let's really talk about what's the real truth?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Why is that? What do we need to do to be.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Able to sustain drives, finish, be able to come away
with touchdowns?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
And Coyeren's energy was outstanding. You could see.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
I thought he was excellent in terms of, you know,
being really decisive.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
You could see when he put his foot in the ground.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
He was really leveling off runs well, doing a great
job on slash running on the second and third levels
of the offensive line.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Like I mentioned in the tight ends are doing a
good job and being able to get him.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Too the second and the third levels of the defense
and then to be able to see him close out
that last run where then you can ultimately just be
able to need it out.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
That was pretty cool. For him, and uh, he's only
gonna be a guy that just builds off of that
he's made in the right stuff. What did it he's
you mentioned the real truth first up? What was that
to you? And what it doesn't get? I think it
was really three drives, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I think when you have a three and out and
then you have two possessions where you're able to sustain,
you know.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Be able to get into a little bit of rhythm.
I thought our second drive was really good, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
And and if we end up converting on a play
that we'll call over and over again and I think
we'll hit more times than not, then.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
It probably ends up in a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
And I think you wanna be mak You wanna make
sure that you're not so tied up in the results.
You say, right, what's the real truth? What what can
we do to try to be able to consistently execute
or finish those plays? And then our third drive, you know,
you're able to get a couple of first downs, you
end up stalling out, But there was just so m
few opportunities and if you could really just get a chance,
and you'll say, you know, you ended up having twelve
carries for you know, almost six yards of carry in

(03:20):
the first half. So I was encouraged if we could
build on that and then be able to do some
things in the past game based on what they were doing,
and and our guys were able to win and beat
me in coverage and beat you know, some stickier coverages
that they were playing, and I think it resulted in
some big plays to the Marcus to to two and
then obviously Pooka made his places where he came.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Up big four us cird quarter.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
Particularly, the emphasis on a run was clear. I understand
you had a few of the chances in the first.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Chelf, but in terms of their runs past balance of
some of those drives.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
What was the conversation persons, like maybe the the head
set between you guys as coaches and then coming into
the locker room about uh, establishing yourself on the ground.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
It was really that.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I mean, you know, you talk about, you know, here's
some of the things that they're doing. Here is what
we like, here's what we're gonna do into the second half.
Here's how if we stay out of the sticks, and
then it's gonna enable us to be able to operate.
And then they did some stuff to try to be
able to take us off, you know, some of the
core things that maybe we've done before. I thought our coaches,
I thought Michael Lafleur, I thought Ryan Windell, really all
of our offensive coaching staff, and the next one job
Jordan Will being able to recognize it, communicate and be.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Able to get us to some of the right things
that we wanted to be able to do. And then
ultimately it's always about the players bringing into life, and
they did that in a big way.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Well five with five games left, how are you feeling
about where you guys are going into.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
The same one day at a time. You know, I
think that's the only thing that we can do.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Gary.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
All we could do is really be able to get
one win this week, and we were able to do that,
and we're gonna put everything that we can into our
week of preparation. I did think there was improvement for
our football team collectively.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
That's what I wanna continue to see.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Obviously, we want to be able to strain as hard
as we possibly can to put ourselves in a position
to win football games, but I also want to see
us improved.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
I want to see us poor. Everything that we've got
when we look back on this, we have no regrets
with the way that we approach as players as.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Coaches, and if we can do that, I know what's
gonna give us the best opportunity to be able to
get the results when we get these precious opportunities, which
is five left now guaranteed, and we're gonna try to
maximize after.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Your Hoppins kind of sees control in the second half.
But speech to what it meant to you to see
your defense close that thing.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I thought it was great for our team, you know
I I ultimately I you know I I really enjoyed
being able to spend a lot of time with our
team this week and and be able to see, alright,
what's important. How do we wanna be able to put
this game together? Thought our coaches did a great job.
I thought the player's energy. But it's it is always
about the team. You guys have heard me say it,
and it's the truth. And for us to be able
to get the stop, for us to.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Be able to take the lead, to go up twenty
one to fourteen, for them to be able to drive
down and do a good job.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
And get some conversions, but us just make him snap
it one more time and then ultimately tighten up in
the red area where you get the fourth.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Down stop by Jared Verse.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
That was huge, and there was a lot of plays
leading up to that in terms of just the strain
on the third down, Bobby Brown's tackle to be able
to make it a fourth down.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
You know, it was complimentary football. It's fine as I
thought we played hard. I thought we pursued the football.
I got a ton of respect for Kamara. He is
so dangerous. And there were some times raised in the
open space.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
And it felt like we were pursuing and we were
playing with an energy and an edge that's necessary for
a defense to be able to pursue the football with.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
A violent uh mindset of mentality. And I thought I
felt that today even though they were.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Able to get some you know, some good stuff cause
they have respect for that group.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
And then for Contor to be able to close it out,
that was that. It was a it was about for
the team.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Thought you were in Winnington's kick return to be able
to get a good field position was big.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
In the fourth quarter. And and here we are and
uh I got a sixth win. That was the goal,
and now we'll uh get out of here and we'll
start a preparation for Buffalo. Will you have to have
a date on? You had some date under Parkasta's him.
I think he's okay.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Yeah, we asked you a lot, uh, especially with injuries
commounting and your your level concern about the slow starts
on I know, no, he's fully healthy this end year
about on paper getting your full compliment or a close
to it of guys back.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
What's your level concerned about the continues to go to start? No,
he he Here's the thing, you know, there's been times
when you can look back on it and I think
it does blow down to you know, like what I
don't want to do. We want to start fast, no
doubt about it. You know.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
But if you said, what was the difference between really
the first half and the second half? You know, really,
if the Marcus gets all of his depth, like I
know he's capable of, we probably are completing that first
play of the game in bounds, so then you're not
on a second and ten where you throw a little
short route to Puka. Then you get into a third
down play man coverage and you end up having to
throw the ball away quickly because you know, we get
beat up front, and so you say, is that starting

(07:29):
slow or is that not executing?

Speaker 2 (07:31):
And how football compounds off of one another.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
And I don't want to minimize how important is you
know that, Jordan, But I think you know, how consistently
can we as coaches try to put our guys in
the right spots, and then how much can we do.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Right consistently throughout the course of the game.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
And when we've done that, good things happen, and then
when you don't, you know, that's what's so challenging about
this league.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
And so we've got to be able to figure it out.
I do believe, and I'm going to continue to work
to try to be able to do that. But I
also don't want to overreact.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
And you say, right, each plays its own entity, and
that sequence right there in the second drive, I liked
what we did. We go forward on a fourth down
and three. Maybe if we come away with points, we're
getting three. You know, if we just decided to kick
it there, we're getting points. But we came in with
an aggressive mindset of mentality, wanted to be able to
go for it, and he didn't go down for us.
But I liked the way that we played that second drive.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
A couple of guess Cooper set the record most actions
through one hundred games.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
At oncon streets, he me, no artist one would you
tell me that another time that I ended up not
recognizing Cooper Cup?

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Congratulations Cooper bal tomorrow money? What the hell?

Speaker 4 (08:36):
Man?

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Did you know that I did not? What did you mean?
You just got an artist in trouble? That's cool, you know?

Speaker 1 (08:43):
And I do know that's through ninety eight games or
whatever it was, you know, I mean you look at
the stats where it's over five hundred plus catches, over
seventy five hundred yards, over fifty plus TVs. Nobody's ever
done that in NFL history. He's a special player. He's
a more special person. His work, ethic, everything that he's
about is the right kind of stuff. And really happy
for him, and really disappointed that I didn't get a

(09:04):
chance to recognize that in real time, Sarah.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
Jared, Jared Versus was really hard hisself. I love it, Uh,
Jared Versus really hard on himself after last week. What
did you notice about the way he approached this week?

Speaker 1 (09:21):
And then to be able to get that moment accountability
to himself, to his teammates, to to play within the
framework of what he can do to make an impact
on this game. I love this guy, and he is growing,
he's maturing.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
But I do love the coachability. I love the accountability.
I think Joe Canningelo does.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
A great job.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
I think he's got some great veteran guys to lean
on in that room. But that's what we need, consistency.
And I thought it was poetic that he was able
to close out that game. I thought he played really hard.
See the way this guy pursues the football, And I
thought he played within the framework of the system and
of some of the playoffs that he had within the game.
And usually those good things end up packing the football.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Guys always do it right.
