Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's twenty one degrees in Jacksonville, It's five in York,
seven in Dumbarton, and our listener in Puerto Rico. Lovely places,
Puerto Rico. Been there once a lovely thirty degree day
in Puerto Rico. Kid me, this is till Talk. I'm
Jay Lawrence, still no relation as far as I know.
He's Key Ram Surin and this is the official Jacksonville

(00:22):
Jaguars podcast for the UK and Ireland, powered by Gallagher.
Give me more of a reaction case.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yeah, I feel good.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Let's start with that brand new exciting news for the
podcast going forward. Till Talk is now presented by Gallagher. Now.
Gallagher is the previously partner of the Jaguars UK's jack
Tag Extra Time program. He was recently signed at a
multi year extension as lead partner which we'll see an
expansion of Jagtag Extra Time into the Republic of Ireland
into Northern Ireland Manchester. Key, you remember Andy Scott from

(00:56):
the jack Tag program. He was on a couple of
weeks ago, wasn't he lovely Man Andy London. I didn't
tell him that at the time, Lovely.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
He didn't know. I text him after and told him
that he was a lovely man. I said, J thinks
you're a lovely man.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Good.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
I'm glad. I'm glad. Jack Tag Extra Time is engaged
with around three hundred and eighty young people aged nine
to seventeen across London since twenty twenty one now by
offering weekly high level performers training pro sessions. The program
takes players from jack Tag one O one through jag
Tagging onto elite pathways as well. Now, this is a
bit that I really liked. Our conversation actually key between

(01:33):
you know, as a Andy. He told us that he's
confident that a jag Tagger will be representing Team GB
at the Olympics in flag football in twenty twenty eight
over in LA. That's big that I don't know if
we may did we make as bigger dealers at the time.
I feel like we should.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
We did.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
I wanted to ask Andy to give us names, but
I don't think he would have. So yeah, next time
we have him on, let's get some names. Let's drill
him down.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Welcome Gallagher, our new partner, a lead provider of insurance
solutions committed to investing in the futures of young people.
So they can continue to grow and excel. So we
are very happy that they are now presenting partner of
teal Talk. Key, it is a it's always a big
show every single week. It's always a big show. But
coming up, we speak to a man who's had a

(02:18):
pretty decent seven days. I think it's fair to say, Key,
we speak to Walker Little. He's got the new contract
and he thought to himself, well, how can I how
can I get you know, a better week than that?
How can I improve on the last few days?

Speaker 2 (02:32):
He contacted the Jags UK team and said, the only
way to tell this contract is to get on teal talk.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
All one's that's exactly what happened. It's exactly what happened.
So he's going to be on a little bit later.
We actually said, oh, we'll see if we've got time.
We'll see if we've got time. We've got time, so
he's going to be on surely. Look, we have to
talk about the last few days though, you know, obviously
it's been a few days since Sunday, so we don't

(02:58):
have to get into it too much. But there are
some headlines from the last few days. Key. First of all,
Jaggs officially eliminated from playoff contention in twenty twenty four
after that twenty three twenty loss to the Houston Texans,
a bitter pill to swallow. I think it's fair to say,

(03:19):
key an't it. I mean, I don't think any of
us were really expecting this to happen at this point
in the season.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
In about week ten, I was expecting it to happen.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Okay, I remember before you know what I mean, I
remember before the season side.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
You're absolutely right. I would not have expected come week thirteen,
fourteen to be saying this on our podcast. Mate, No,
I absolutely wouldn't. If I'm being completely honest. There was
a little bit of relief to be mathematically eliminated because
now I feel like, let's focus on the future of

(03:52):
this franchise and let's see what we can get done
for the rest of the season. There's no more pressure
other than let's focus on the build on that and
see where we can go from here. So completely honestly,
there was yes, absolutely gutted. Obviously you don't want to
be two and ten, but there's also a little bit

(04:13):
of relief that actually, let's move on now.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Man. Yeah, I can understand that. I can understand that
it's it's just sort of a weird point though regardless,
you know, I think that Jacksonville Jaguars, I mean, we
all thought that the team were going to do, you know,
could do big things. This year hasn't quite worked out
that way. But as you say, it's just moving on

(04:36):
and it's trying to enjoy the football as well over
the next few weeks. I think that's important as well,
because the football season short, you know, so at the
end of the day, what's the point in wishing away
the football season, you know, come week thirteen or whatever. Yes,
the Jags aren't going to be in the playoffs in
twenty twenty four, but that doesn't mean that we can't
enjoy the football. That doesn't mean that we can't, like,
you know, at this point, stop worrying about the big picture,
I suppose, and just start, you know, looking at the

(04:57):
players that we are great four that have been you know,
standouts this year, players that we've spoken about throughout the season.
So let's just try and enjoy the next few weeks.
So I'll speak I'll speak on this really quickly actually,
because you know, over the last few days it's been
a big talking point actually not just in the Jacksonville
Jackuars community, you know, a fan base or whatever, but
but in terms of football in general. Trevor Lawrence, he's

(05:21):
out injured for multiple games. He comes back in, We're
all hyped, we get to see my name's sake again
playing football, and then he goes out from what was
a massive illegal hit from Aziz al Shair as Trevor
was sliding down and lot. I don't think I can

(05:43):
say anything that people haven't heard over the last few
days except to say that it was appalling. In my opinion,
there is no way that attacked Jacks aside Trevor Lawrence aside,
there is no way that an NFL player should be
tackling like that with that later hit to the head.

(06:05):
I don't know, Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
Jay.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
First things first, you're absolutely I.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Could go off for ages, So I'm choosing nothing.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
I can't say anything that hasn't been said before in
all likelihood except to put two pence worth in, which
is to say absolutely gross.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Yeah, absolutely gross. Trevor has He's now in the concussion protocol.
After leaving that game, he sent out a tweet as well,
saying his appreciation for the support that you know he's
going to be okay. That was on the Sunday as well,
which is always good.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
It's amazing to see him getting up and walking to
the medical cart after that, like yeah, awful, awful hit.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Yeah, and Matt Jones comes in though, hey, I don't
know why I'm laugh but black Jones comes in after
a couple of games, after a few games. Well, let's look,
let's let's be honest. The offense wasn't buzzing. Was it
a buzz it? Yet his best three quarters as a Jaguar,
and in that game, you know, it looked like the
Texans were going to run away with it actually at
one point, let's be honest, but the Jags managed to

(07:11):
come back into it. And that's you know, partially, well
mostly I supposed because of Mac Jones and what he
and the offense as well want to want to touchdown
to Ryan Thomas Jr. Touchdown to Parker Washington as well.
He was all over the place. I think actually it's.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Like one hundred yards plus. A fantastic to see both
of those two stepping up, and also fantastic to see
what hopefully is the start of Mac getting some confidence
and turning his season around as well.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yeah, exactly. Now, look, the next game is going to
be against the Tennessee Titans. So actually it's two division
games back to back, isn't it? Had just had the
Texans Titan is going to be the next one. We
are going to speak about that game, of course, a
little bit later on. You will get our predictions in
the game too, if you wantless. We never do well

(07:59):
at these predicts, to be honest with you. We'll be
going onto the Tennessee Titans game. We'll be going on
to the big question with a Jacksonville Jaguar fan from
the UK and Ireland as well. Good question this week,
I mean, they're always good questions for this week is
a very good question as well. We'll be getting to
that first. So let's talk to the offensive alignment of
the hour Man. It's just signed that massive new contract

(08:21):
to stay with the Jacksonville Jaguars for the next few years.
Let's hear from our conversation with Walk a little okay,
joining till talk this week, a man who's actually had
quite a decent last few days. I think it's fair
to say Walk a little congratulations on the contract man,
how's it feeling.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Yeah, I appreciate it. It's great. I'm super happy to
be back here in jacksonvill for a few more years
and just see how I keep it going.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
And I hope it was a bit of a surprise
as well, because I know that sometimes contracts can I suppose,
roll her out quite quickly. Sometimes it can be the opposite.
But for you, it's really been out of the last
couple of weeks or so, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Yeah. I kind of started talking about it the bye
week with our front office here, and then it started
to progress pretty quickly after that. I mean we were
in talks, yeah, over the last two weeks then definitely
right up till obviously the game time went quickly, so
it was good.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Are you going to tell us how you celebrated?

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Honestly, nothing too crazy. I mean after the game, my
parents were here and my fiance, so we all went
out to dinner and stuff. But I'm sure there'll be
a lot more celebrations once the season's over.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
This is the main celebration is coming on here.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Exactly.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Look, you can be honest, we're all friends here. Do
you what was the first thing that you bought after
you signed that contract?

Speaker 3 (09:43):
I'll be honest, I don't even have I haven't really
had enough time to buy anything yet. Yeah, we made
something that once. I mean, Christmas is going to be
a lot tougher this year's siblings and parents are going
to be expecting.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Your family with the happiest people.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
Yeah. I was going to say the timing honestly did
not work out for me in that in that regard,
But after the season I'll figure something out.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
I mean, you're somebody that's played, like, you know, in
multiple different positions on the on the O line. For you,
how how have you how have you found settling into
the Jacksonville tackle.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Yeah, it's it's been good. I mean I grew up
in high school and through college playing left tackles. It's
definitely always been It's my natural or what I've been
most comfortable with. Obviously through the NFL have kind of
bounced around a little bit, but it's been nice to
kind of getting back to this position and obviously just
having now a few weeks now hopefully you know, a
few more years of playing it and just getting better

(10:41):
and more comfortable at it.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
You know, actually you mentioned there, you know, we spoke
about a little bit about your family. We speak a bit,
you know, about how you've been playing the position, you know,
in high school and stuff. Can you talk a little
bit about your family. Actually, I'm really interested to know
what it was like growing up, because you know, you've
got family members who you know, played college ball, they
played in the NFL. Do you remember like that point

(11:03):
where you were like, oh, actually my aspiration is to
be in the NFL and you had to sort of,
you know, talk to your family members about it.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Yeah, I mean growing up where I did in Texas,
it's football is a huge thing there. I mean it
is in Florida as well, but definitely huge in Texas,
and so I always wanted to play football. I don't
know exactly what point. I mean, even when I was
a little kid. I was probably ten eleven years old,
and there's a video of me when we were in
like kindergarten, so you know, early elementary school, and I

(11:33):
got up and everyone was saying what they wanted to be,
and people were saying, you know, they wanted to be
a vet or a doctor, a lawyer, and I got
up and said I wanted to be a football player. So,
I mean, I've always it was always the dream. So
it's pretty cool coming full circle and then obviously now
again to continue on for a few more years.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Yeah, I mean yeah, I mean Texas is always I know,
Florida is big, as you say on sports or whatever,
but you know, coming from the UK, it's quite hard
to grasp. I think, you know, Friday night lights might
be the closest we're ever going to get.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
So for sure, I mean that's a lot more real
than than you may even believe. I mean, it's it's
there's definitely a lot of I mean, I grew up
in the city, so it wasn't quite as much like
that in Houston, but we've led in some small towns
and I mean the city, the town's shut down and
everybody's out there, so it's pretty spot on.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
It's it's been a bit of a strange season. I
think it's probably, you know, fair to say for you,
I mean personal highlights of course that we've spoken about,
but for the actual team itself, it's fair to say
it's not been exactly what you'd hoped for or maybe
what you'd imagined. Can you tell us a little bit
about what the atmosphere is like within the Jaggers right now?

(12:44):
After you've officially out of the playoff race.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Yeah, I mean I would say, obviously we have disappointment
at how we've performed this year, and obviously not be
able to make the playoffs, not be able to continue on,
which is always the ultimate goal on which you put
so much effort into. This same time, I think this
group's done a really good job of just coming together
each week. We have a lot of pride, and you know,
we think we're a lot better than when our record chose.

(13:08):
So we have a great opportunity this week playing Tennessee.
And anytime you're playing a division opponent, Uh, it's pretty
easy to get up for. I mean, you play these
guys twice a year every year, so you know a
lot of them. It's less similar faces and so you
always want to play well.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Actually you know what we speak about Tennessee in a second,
but you know it was Houston last week, which means
do you have family and friends that are like rooting
against you? Then every time I.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Would say, I would say when I play them, a
lot of them probably are like, hope I play well,
but want the Texans to win. That's probably they they
text you. Yeah, a lot of them a lot. I'd
say a lot more people than usual, like watch my
games that we're playing the Texans, watching the Texans and
then kind of realize that, oh they're playing the Jaguars
and Walkers out there.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
So they don't text you afterwards all not some of.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
My friends too, but most of them are more so
just positive to me because they know I just won't
respond otherwise.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Yeah, like, I hope you do well in this loss. Yeah, Well,
because so you've played in the UK a few times
now and with the new contract that does it. How
does it feel to know that you're going to be
coming back to play in the UK a few more
times in the future as well.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Yeah, it's great. I mean I think I definitely love
going over there. I think a lot of guys do definitely.
Now how we've done the past two years, We've got
to spend you know, doing the back to back games,
and actually time to stay has been a lot better
because we actually had time to kind of go around
the city and stuff on Monday and Tuesday and just
see different parts and just kind of hang out more.

(14:42):
Whenever it is just the one game, everything goes pretty quickly.
You don't really get a chance to see a whole lot.
So these last few years have been really cool, and
you know, we really enjoy it. And I would say
a big thing too, is it's a nice change of
weather for us. Usually that time of year it's pretty
hot here, so get over to the UK and it's
usually in the you know, high forty is love fifties.
It's pretty nice.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
Oh, just bear in mind that we absolutely hate the
fact that you said that, like, you know, Kevin coming
from somewhere where it's literally zero degree since we could.
We love the We love some beach weather right now.
And what's the what's the you know, as you say,
you get a little bit more time when you're in
the UK. Over the last past couple of seasons, you know,

(15:23):
has there been a particular highlight, you know, football side?

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Yeah, I mean I think obviously we're all to winning
a game of the Patriots this year. I think last
year was really cool with the Bills game in Atlanta.
That kind of really jump started that part of our
season for us. Last year I played, we always played
well over there though, We've won a lot of games
over there, and so I say, there's a lot of
great memories, both on and off the field over there.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Okay, Titans, Titans up next. Presumably you don't have any
family or friends that are in Tennessee, so you're right,
another divisional matchup against the team as well. You know
they won't be particularly pleased with how their season has gone.
You know what sort of opportunity does this give the
Jags now coming into the last few weeks of the season.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Yeah, I mean, I just think obviously, we're all professionals here.
We know it's our job to win, whether you know
you're in pluff contention or not. And like I said before,
division rival, you want to play well against and we
want to win, and they want to beat us.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
I promise you that.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
I mean last year they didn't have anything to win
in that last game of the season and they were
able to win, which ultimately ended our season. So I
think each team always wants to win, no matter what
each team's record is. So it's going to be a
great game and a real competitive game.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Walk a Little. Thank you so much, Thank you so
much for joining us.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
Yeah, thank you all.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
Thank you guys.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
That's our conversation with Walker a Little. We love Walk
a Little, and he leaves the podcast. Yes, of course,
he does. He got to cut out with us. Also,
man that has two surnames Walker?

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Oh, yes, very good.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Do you see what I'm saying? You see what I'm
saying I have I have four first names. You have
four first names. Four first name you could swap and share. Yeah,
let's try and make his week even better. I'll propose.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Good news for Walker.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
Litle Christmas music on the Go is do Val dispatches. Sorry,
it's du vile dispatches with me Slay Lawrence and Keith
Ramsaw run Rudolph Run.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
I was hoping for new ones, not just repeats the
same old.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
We are under sligh. The Twelve Days of Tilmu's competition
is this? Oh, this is funny. Wait let me this
is good for complete clarity. This is written by producer
Simon and we haven't seen this before. We are under slay.
That twelve Days of Tealmus competition is a santastic or santaastic.

(18:05):
Doesn't work, No, doesn't work.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
I'll be writing.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
It's a fantastic opportunity to get your Willie mittens On
gifts from us to you. It's so much fun you
will not want to missile toe This one.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
For the Simon do better.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
For the first time ever, the Jaguars UK and Ireland
are launching a tree mendous Christmas competition twelve days of Christmas,
twelve competitions, twelve amazing prizes, signed jerseys sign football is
a throwback jersey. So if you are a wise man
or woman, go to Jacks UK and I on ex,
Facebook and Instagram right now.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Let's put it this way, the prizes are better than
the puns.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
The prizes are.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Pridiculous, good like I would never be entering this competition.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Jacks haven't said to us once, would you like one?
That's what I'm just putting out. Just been out there,
just been out there. Twelve amazing prizes. Go to Jaguar's
UK and IX, Facebook and Instagram right now. Of course
you can listen to this podcast. You can watch this
podcast on YouTube. But we also have a TV show,

(19:19):
don't we key? So what is on the Sky Show
with Rhys Parkinson this week? How can we watch? Where
can we watch? Etcetera.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
We can watch it on Sky Sports NFL. It's on
every Wednesday night at nine pm, repeated throughout the week,
and then everything gets put up on the Jaguars UK
YouTube channel after that. Now, this week, we've got the
highlights of the Texans game, including that rally towards the end.
Then JP and Reese break it down. After that, Tony

(19:47):
and JP will preview the Titans game coming up this Sunday.
Highlight for me is Reese sitting down for a nice
long interview with newly engaged long snapper Ross matter Sick
and a particularly funny joke that I wrote for Reese to.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Say, I can't ask. I don't want to give it away.
I was gonna ask what it is, don't do it?
So SkySports NFL repeats on there and of course you
can watch it on YouTube as well. Voting is live
on Jaguars dot com for the Pro Bowl. Now this
is your time to vote for your favorite jag. Is

(20:26):
there someone the right now key that like you think
maybe they should get a vote.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
I'll give you one guess as to who who would
get my vote.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
Does his name rhyme with schmai and schmamus Schmunyon, No.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
It doesn't. He would be second. It rhymes with okay,
flan littles.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Well that Jaguars dot com. If you would like to
to put your vote across you can you can vote
for either of those two or whoever you like. All right,
we'll get to the Fan of the Week next. If
you would to be featured as our Fan of the week,
get in touch via the media drop down on Jaguars
dot co dot uk and we will add you to
the list and maybe we can get you on the

(21:10):
podcast before the end of the season. Let's go to it,
shall we. Jags fan James Richardson what is the big question?

Speaker 5 (21:19):
Hi guys, So I'm just wondering what positions do we
need to improve before the Jags become a playoff team?

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Okay, good question, pertinent question of course after the last
few days, and one actually, I think that a lot
of fans have probably been mulling throughout the season as well. Key,
do you want to go first?

Speaker 2 (21:38):
Yeah, you're not impressing anyone with use of big words
like that.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
I was thinking of when I said it, I was like,
I wonder if it was going to comment on my
big my Relisa, Pertinent, who.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
Do you think you are? James? In all honesty, you
could possibly say any possible position. And here's the truth.
They will be the first ones to say that they
haven't played well enough, but I'm going to pick what area,
and I think the area that we've let ourselves down
in possibly the most this season has been defensive ends.

(22:08):
Pass rush not good enough, run defense not good enough.
I think that area needs massive improvement next year if
we're going to be contenders.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
But do you think in needs massive improvement or do
you think that well, you know, because on paper, those
players that's good.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Yeah, I'm not saying I'm not saying we need new players.
I'm saying they need to play better.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
James, don't pretend that you haven't been thinking about an
answer to this. You've got to give me yours.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
That surprises me. I'm going to be honest.

Speaker 5 (22:34):
And there's been weeks where he and z Allen Walker
as well haven't been at their best. But I think
they've carried us at times a little bit. I'm a
big believer of like American football was offered, it's one
of lost that the trenches right, and I think very
much so with the Jags defense. There's times where the
past rush and the d line and carried us for me,

(22:57):
like the most obvious position, like the most.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Sorry to interrupt, what is carrying on a team that's
won two games, do you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
Like like several games over one hundred yards on the
ground given up. That is that just isn't good enough.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Yeah, but when you're on the field for like eighty
percent of the game, you know that's that's not so bad.
I think, like Hell's teeth, like this defense they're playing,
they're playing week in week out the majority of total
snaps of the game because the offense can't stay in
the field for more than like thirty seconds. Like I think,
it's harsh reality of a situation I do. I must

(23:35):
say I completely agree with you about run defense. I
think we are a terrible open field tackling so I
think we have been for a number of years. I
think there's players that can tackle by Lua con stands
out chatmen are not bad. There's others which really can't.
And especially our defensive I think our defensive back to
our secondary as soon as any half decent runner be

(23:57):
that running back or receiver gets into them, I don't
really rate him, but to an extent, Cisco can tackle.
I think the others really struggle, and that's just where
we get so exposed in the secondary running. I also
think passing as well, some of the separation that we
leave is almost criminal. So I appreciate what you're saying
about defensive ends, but I think there's way more.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
There's way more we've got to look at.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
What would you choose if you just have that one
position group, then oh, one.

Speaker 5 (24:24):
Hundred percent the secondary needs to improve. But I mean really,
I mean three weeks ago, i'd probably still be looking
at the line. I do think the O line actually
got has has improved. I think I don't think based
on a draft class as well, we're going to get
any you know, superstars which are gonna which are going

(24:44):
to really improve our O line. I would hope that
they can get to an extent where they're gonna because
I really rate Trevor Lawrence. I think he's I think
he's he's not he's not the best quarterback in the league.
I think he's an underrated he's an underrated quarterback. I
think he does really good things. Yeah he makes mistakes.
Yeah he threw that one a few weeks ago. You
know when I can't remember were playing with you know
when we were going was a Philly. Yeah, we're going

(25:06):
on the winning dry and we're going don phirty three
light inception to left hand side.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
Yeah, that's a bad mistake.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
But he also can carry us the times and he
he he can if he has and when he does
have a half decent operating.

Speaker 4 (25:21):
O line, he can work wonders.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
So like Brian Thomas Jior on his day, like the
Bears game that was horrendous, But they're not good that.
We've got good receivers Evan Ingram, Brian Thomas Studio. They
can catch, they can make plays. Christian Kirk. I'm not
the biggest fan, but on his day he's scared running backs. Yeah,
when they're healthy, Tank, Busy, me Etti and Jr. That's

(25:44):
a great one two punch. I think offense can can
can be there, just need better discipline and better execution.
But I think I feel like I'm painting a very
negative picture. But actually we've been in games this year.
We've gone close. Yeah, we've had weeks where we've been
tear but I don't think we're that far off.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Well, I think I go back to what Key said though,
really and say that, you know, when he was talking
about the defensive line. You look at quarterback, you look
at running backs, you look at wide receivers, and it's
I'm sort of still thinking like it's September again or
August really and that you know that these players are good,
and I'm not disputing that in any way, but at
the end of the day, they are better than their

(26:26):
performances maybe suggest or the results suggest, you know, for
my position group, I was going to bring up, you know,
different parts of the offense, and it's not because I
don't think that those parts of the offense are good.
It's just that I recognize that they need to be better.
I know that there's been injuries with some players, as
you know. You know, Christian Kirk is a good example.
Gabe Davis maybe has not been a killer of games

(26:49):
that maybe some people would have hoped for him to be.
But Brian Thomas Junior, meanwhile, maybe people didn't have that
many expectations for in his first season and he's just
absolutely surpassed them. Trevor Lawrence, I agree with you. I'm
a big believer in Trevor Lawrence as well. But that's
not to say that whatever has happened this season with
him as quarterback, it has not been it has not

(27:09):
been fluid, it hasn't been working. Just because you just
said a moment ago didn't you, James, Like, you know,
if the offense can only stay on the field for
you know, a few snaps at a time, something's not working.
Now we know that the players are good, but we
but you know, I'm not a coach. You two aren't coaches.
We can only say that something's not quite clicking. So
for me, I'd even say, you know, Trevor, I recognize

(27:31):
that he's I do honestly believe that he is the
quarterback of the future. He is the franchise quarterback. Jaguars
committed to him. But that's not to say that he
doesn't need to play better. Is that fair?

Speaker 2 (27:42):
I think it's fair. He needs to earn that money.
He's just been given a big contract. He needs to
earn that and is two and ten earning that? Probably
not Trevor is capable.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
That's it's just because of him though, you know that's
a thing.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
It's Trevor play better than he has been. He will
be the first one to say that, yes he can.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
How did you get into being a Jags fan.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
James, Oh, I lived in the Midlands right.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
And naterally became a Jags fan.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
I knew no one I knew know I literally didn't
know anyone there. So I just moved for a job
and just sat at home one day and I think
it's like Saturday morning watching the Vernon k NFL highlights.

Speaker 4 (28:29):
Loved a lot of basketball. My dad was played a
lot of basketball to a high level. So love the NBA.

Speaker 5 (28:35):
Thought I've never really given an American football chance. Then
just sort of liked that show. Started talking to a
few people I knew that liked it. They kind of
got me into it, and then went to I think
it was it was the Bill's Jacks game twenty fifteen,
the first game that me and some of the other

(28:56):
London Jacks supporters club went to. Didn't really know much
about the rules, didn't really know much of what was
going on, but you know, having a good time, having
a few drinks. I mean, it just sort of went
from ver really and then yeah, I just kind of
followed them since. And you still yet to go to Jacksonville.

(29:19):
But yeah, it's it's been it's been a ride. It's
been a ride, definitely. So I think it's been about
ten years.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
James the Middle Jacksonville are not that different.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
They've both got the beaches. That's what it is. As
you say you're part of the London Jags club, which
means you must have a It means you must have
a WANSI somewhere, right.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
I do, sir, Yeah, yeah, what do you do?

Speaker 2 (29:46):
It was the ones who came up with the idea
for the.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
Ones is do you know what? It was mine?

Speaker 5 (29:51):
Because you've got that game we went to. I was like,
let's just like dress up and have a bit of
a laugh, right, and then bound sort of like these
dirt cheap onesies from so you know, the deepest depths
of sort of Chinese eBay or whatever it was. They

(30:12):
cost that's nothing. And then well, right, let's get a
few T shirts. We had like flatable American footballs things
like that, which it is a good time. And then
it just sort of grown from there and more and
more people have like got one. I must admit controversial
to say, but I'm not. I think I'm getting a
bit old for it now, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (30:33):
And have you washed it? Have you washed it?

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Though?

Speaker 1 (30:35):
Because we asked Molly this didn't we a couple of
weeks ago, and I don't think I can't remember what
she said.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
No, neither Molly nor Steve washed their onies.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
Have you watched yours?

Speaker 4 (30:46):
Absolutely disgusting, like you get so sweaty and.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Yesterday I assume yeah, definitely, definitely. Look it's the Titans
game next, another divisional matchup, James. We give our predictions
at the end of every single episode. We have a
guest do it every single time, a fan do it
every single time. Would you like to give us your
score or prediction for the Jaguars Titans game?

Speaker 5 (31:11):
I was impressed with last week. I liked what I
saw it last week. Let's go to twenty eight, twenty four.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
For the Jags. Yeah, all right, nice to see James.
Thanks very much, Thanks so much, guys, take care all right,
Chase to James, good question, And I think, honestly, it
is a question that we could have had. We could
have spoken about for an hour.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
I think I don't like being disagreed with. I don't
like it.

Speaker 1 (31:36):
Well, then I'm surprised that we're still doing this podcast.
To be honest, Maybe I'm too nice to you. Maybe
that's what it is. Maybe I should change should should
change there? All right, Jags go to Tennessee for another
divisional game. We spoke a little bit about it earlier
on didn't we with Walker. This one's feels like there's
a little bit more to it. I mean, Calvin Ridley
playing again, you know, against his former team, first game

(31:58):
against his former team, and it's a bit of a
weird situation obviously because for so long in the off
season it looked like there was a real possibility that
he was going to go back to the Jag. So
it's going to be how it's going to go.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
I think Sunday will be an interesting one. They're playing
better than they have been.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
For sure, and will Levis, will Levis's quarterback has definitely
improved over the last few weeks as well.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
I'd say, yeah, they're they're I mean they're a physical
team as well, and interesting just talking to James about
the trenches, it's going to be interesting to see how
that pans out on Sunday because honestly, right now, I
think that's going to be a really that's going to
be the battle this Sunday is the trenches and who's
going to win the physicality of it all. And also,

(32:46):
let's hope what what Mac did last Sunday against the Texans,
that's hope that is not just a repeat of that
but an improvement on that as well.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
I mean, that's what you said a few weeks ago.
I remember, didn't you in the mac Jones hadn't been
playing well and you basically sit in luck. You know
you need to play better. Basically you need to put
it out there. And he comes in last game Mac
Mac mate.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Stop throwing the interceptions.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
That's what you said.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
And he done it.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
He did it.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
He listened, made him listen to his favorite podcast.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
He was like, great, that's a really good point by
Key that no one's ever said to me before in
the last twenty something years. And this is a winnable game.
Though this is a winnable game, I think it's fair
to say. But I think you are right in that
the Titans record doesn't necessarily reflect how they've been playing
in some of their games as well. Let's, in fact,

(33:38):
let's give our predictions in a sect. Let's have a
bit of a let's work out the current the current
score on the tallies. Okay, okay, yeah, you are getting
left in the dust, my friend.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
I mean, we all know what I'm on.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Yes, so we've had so you're on two. Yeah, the
fan is on four. Oh okay, and I'm on five.
This is going to get a bit dicey. I think,
not dicey, maybe a bit dicey.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
The last time not mathematically eliminated.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
But we have had numerous meetings, you know, some would
say summits, some till talk summits. It has been decided
that whoever wins the Predictions League gets to take an
item of merch from the loser. Key, I know that
you have some extremely niche, some extremely what's the word,

(34:34):
what's the word. I'm looking for bespoke bespoke Jags merchandise,
and I do.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
Spoke.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
If you're not watching this, you can see all of
the all loads of keys stuff is behind him on
YouTube right now.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
It is.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
You know, it's not looking good for you. It's not
good for you.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
It isn't. But at the end of the day, I've
been charge of postage.

Speaker 5 (34:58):
So.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Yeah, I will post it. I will post it anyway.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Predictions please, Key, do you know what I really like
James this twenty eight, twenty four to the Jags? He said,
I really like that. I think lower scoring affair. I'm
going to go seventeen ten to the Jacksonville Jaguars on
the road.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
Okay, I'm going seventeen fourteen, Jags, I'm gonna I've thought
of it before you said it. It's not like on
the Price is Right, where you just have to say,
like wipe any above or whatever. And I think I've
got my game shows wrong anyway, I'm going seventeen fourteen.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
I think that Matt Jones showed that he's gossom life
in him. Yeap, Why can't he do it against the Titans.
Titans are I think they are a better team, as
I say, than people give them credit for. That's going
to say that they are not beatable. Jaggs. You are
out of the playoff race, you will not be in

(35:59):
the post season, but that doesn't mean you can't show
us what you're about.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
I think play with some freedom and let's got a
w on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
Man do it and Mac Max, don't throw any inceptions.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Mac mate mate, stop it, stop it, don't do it?

Speaker 1 (36:19):
All right, look forward to Sunday, Look forward to Jags Titans. Keith,
thank you so much for being with being with me
in the podcast. Till Talk in partnership with Gallagher has
been a Shooting Shark production for Jacksonville, Jaguars UK and Ireland.
