Speaker 1 (00:01):
Welcome to the Liam Cohen Show, presented by Fresh from Florida,
JP Shadwick and Jeff Logoman. Keep you informed in up
to date with the head coach of jor Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Liam Cohen Show starts right now.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Welcome man. It is the Liam Cohen Show, presented by
Fresh from Florida from the Hyundai Studios the Miller Electric Center.
We're on the Jaguars Radio Network, presented by the University
of Florida, number one university in the US News and
World Reports, number one.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
State for education.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
JP Shadrick with Jeff Logaman and wait a minute, it's
you two again.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Tony Vasselli and James Gladstone.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
In studio with us. Here we go May week one. Tony,
what the hell's going on?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Well?

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Jp, We've said from the beginning that since we started
this journey together, James, Leam and I, that the three
of us are gonna work together, lead together, and support
each other and everything we do.

Speaker 5 (01:02):
And Sead has mandated.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
Us, the three of us to work together make every
major decision together, obviously each having specific responsibilities and where
we're supposed to support. We've talked about it, you know,
with James here. When it comes to the draft and
free agency, final call trades is James to make. But
it's Liam's job and my job to support him, to

(01:26):
talk through it, to push back where needed, to debate
it until we get to the right answer, and then
when it's time to make a call, James has got to.

Speaker 5 (01:34):
Pull the trigger.

Speaker 4 (01:36):
On the field, it's Liam Cohen and leading our team
and making decisions of you know, how we're going to
operate as an organization, what the standard is, culture and
everything else. He has final call. James and I have
a ton of input and talk a lot about it,
but the end of the day, he's got to pull
the trigger on that one. And so this week is
we were getting ready for the first game. We've said

(01:59):
from the beginning that we're gonna keep the main thing
the main thing, and that is winning football games what
happens on the grass, and James and I sat down
and talked and then went and presented to Liam. Really
at the end of the day, he said, Hey, we're
gonna free up as much time of our head coach,
who's also call and plays and everything else, and if

(02:20):
we can pick up the slack and communicate to our
fans into you guys about what's going on with the
team and everything else. We can do that because it's
the same message whether it was Liam in here or
James or myself, all of us together of what we're
doing as a football organization. So we just thought this
year one right now, it's gonna be fluid. Liam will

(02:42):
be joined the show at different times during the year.
We said, this week, with all that's going on, it's
a big week, as everybody knows, first game for us
as a leadership, as an organization, doing this together him
as a head coach. He's calling ball plays. We're excited
about what the opportunity coming up. We said, hey, we

(03:02):
did pretty good at this thing during the preseason.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
Oh, I gotta say it was awesome. I mean there's
an added layer here and that we were missing you
guys week.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
I will give James the credit on this one because
I was like, are.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
You sure we want to do this.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
I've been around these guys a long time. He's like,
I really enjoyed JP. Jeff.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
I'm like, I don't like them very much, so no,
but we're excited and listen, you guys talk to us
all the time. I was talking to Jeff, you and
the rest of the radio broadcast today about what's coming
up in the game. You're going to hear the same
message out of this building, whether it's Liam, James, myself.

(03:43):
Not that we agree on every single thing that happens
all the time from a standpoint of our approach and
our perception. We actually agree where we end up. And
we have a lot of great conversations and most of
them are very pleasant.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
Every once in a while they get heated. They're fun.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
We have good, fun arguments about, you know, what we
need to do. But I can honestly say, to date,
every time we walk out of the room, the three
of us are lockstep of what the right decision is
for the organization. Because I told you guys this from
the beginning, and I think Liam has said it multiple
times in different ways. I've heard James talk about it

(04:21):
different ways. We are gonna do what's best for the
Jacksonville Jaguars as an organization.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
To win football games. That's all we are about.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
That's all we care about is putting the best product
on that field for our fans, our partners, our ownership,
all our teammates. When we talk about teammates, it's you guys,
everyone who's a Jacksonville Jaguar.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Like, that's what's most important, because what do we all want?

Speaker 3 (04:44):
We want to win football games.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
And that's what we're about, and that's what we're gonna
We're gonna do everything we can to give us the
best opportunity to do that.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
Weekend and week out.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
You guys will be with us most weeks. As you said,
Coach Cohen will swing through when he can as the
season moves along, and that means we have to rebrand
the show though.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
Yeah, we're gonna go along. It's a new name. I'm
gonna I was gonna mess it up with votes we could.
There's not really votes.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
This is kind of are you sure?

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Look at this guy. There's no voting here.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
Get a poll out there for there's a vote, like listen,
James is much more.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
He's very much inclusive.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
He's helping me become more open minded about the approach.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Yes, he is.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
It's very it's a weakness of mine, Jeff, as you know,
share the new name please jaggs h Q the name
of the show.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Well, let's go, we're in the head.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
I would have voted for that.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Yeah, I like that.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
You know what, James wanted it to be what he
wanted to be, continued to be the Liam Cohne Show,
and Liam never to show.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Somewhere fit in any of that.

Speaker 6 (05:55):
That's definitely taking credit.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
All right, well here we are. It's week one logs.
The Panthers are coming to I love it.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
I love it.

Speaker 7 (06:07):
So do you guys watch the film? Also talk to
Liam a ton Carolina Panthers with a young quarterback. Yeah,
you can borrow them, Yeah, you can take on the team.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
I do, But I just like seeing it, you know,
me with names GP.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
I just I can't believe that you've missed radio so much, Tony.
I mean you've already you've gone to the top.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Of the organization almost well right back, get right back
where you started.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
It's like it's just like just I tried to get away.

Speaker 7 (06:37):
So it's a it's a quarterback league, okay, And you
guys are getting ready to face the first overall pick
in the draft from a couple of years ago.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
What are you guys seeing him? What do you? What
do you?

Speaker 7 (06:47):
What's his strong points and what weaknesses does he have?

Speaker 6 (06:51):
You know, I think a big part of what we've
tried to emphasize as a part of our off season process,
our pre season process, training camp is bons to adversity.
I think for Bryce Young, he's gone through some adversity
early in his NFL career and he's bounced back. He
finished the season last year on a high note. And
you know, his mobility, his ability to evade and manipulate

(07:13):
the pocket a bit is something that you've got to
account for. And he can playoff schedule, and you know,
when those things break free, it can be a challenge
to stick with. And I think that's something that we're
going to be mindful of, you know, knowing that he
can create outside of just the normal structure of a play.
But really got to point to the fact that he's
he's an ascending player, and we got to make sure

(07:35):
that we try and wrangle him as much as possible.

Speaker 7 (07:37):
Use that term off schedule. He's I think he's better
off schedule than he is is going through progressions and
reading a defense. Just because he's athletic.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Well, I think I think it's the athletic sism that
he does have, and I think one of the things
he does very well that we're gonna have to be
disciplined in the approach of the rush or rush approach
and how we attack him, and also in the back
half of sticking to receivers is when he starts getting
out of the pocket, he is not looking to run.
He does a great job of keeping his eyes down

(08:10):
the field. He remains a passer. He can't run though
he can't, but he remains a passer until he crosses
the line scrimming. So often you see guys once they
get out of the pocket, they're going And he's slight too,
so he's not he's not a bit And I think
that's the one thing. I mean, you look at our
defensive front. I mean, I don't know if you guys have
paid attention, but we got some big dudes up there.

(08:31):
I mean you got Eric Armstead six', six you Got Trayvon,
Walker Josh Heinz. ALLEN i, mean you got big human
beings that we need to make sure it's a cloudy
vision for, Him, Shotbockers, yeah and try to keep, it
keep him in the, pocket because all of a, sudden
now you Have Bryce, young who's not a tall.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
Human, being not a big.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Guy he's gonna have to work his way through and
his sight lines through some very large humans coming at
him and uh but boy when he, escaped he's.

Speaker 7 (09:00):
Dangerous, james did you do work on, him you, know
as a as a college, prospect and what was your?

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Thoughts?

Speaker 6 (09:06):
Yeah you, know back WHEN i was with THE L. A,
rams we didn't have many first round. Picks, uh SO
i can tell you that as it related to THE
qbs going in the top, ten it was you, know
it was a little less than but, yeah there was
an understanding sort of a functional. Awareness you DIDN'T i
really didn't very deep.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
Dive you didn't go to the full.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
Extent but your away is going to do.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Something so just what functional?

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Awareness When James glaston says functional awareness means he's aware
of it but might not pay attention to all that.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
CLOSELY i saw him play WHILE i was watching other.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
Guys, wow BUT i mean you can, imagine, right go
back to of the nine drafts THAT i was a part,
of there was only one in which we had a
first round selection, made and very rarely were we in the.
Conversation even if we did have a worst round, pick
that would have Been Jared. Verse, yeah, yeah my final round.

(10:04):
There but nonetheless it was even for the guys that
were being considered as top ten. Prospects you weren't spending
a ton of energy. There you were focused on a
lot of the others that were more realistic along those.

Speaker 7 (10:15):
Lines just on, me just because it's we're on the
topic of quarterbacks and draft. Picks what's the best late
round quarterback value that you ever thought that that you
had in your time in evaluating, personnel BECAUSE i, mean,
look everybody's trying to find a, quarterback and a lot
of TIMES i used to Tell tony this a couple

(10:36):
of years, Ago i'd take a quarterback every, year and
he laughed at, me but you, KNOW i.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Was actually.

Speaker 6 (10:44):
That is very much a strategy to continue to tap
that well and eventually hope that you land on one
that can give you. SOMETHING i think Brock purdy being
somebody there at the end of the draft that was
able to do what he's now done is extremely impressive
and obviously. Rare but to work that in tandem with
a guy that had ahead of him been selected in

(11:05):
the top top few picks in the draft right and
be able to beat him out that that says a
lot about who he is and being able to just
compete and come through. Victorious. Right that's that says a,
lot AND i think usually that's the stuff you're tapping
into with ANY qb is somebody who can overcome the
odds and really do what you know is ultimately going
to be a successful result despite having some obstacles in your.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Way let's come back in a moment and get into
The jaguars offensive line match.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Up let's go against the big fellas for the.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Most important group in any, building THE Ol well we know.

Speaker 6 (11:42):
That, Yeah i'm just staying in The no bias attached to, That,
no not at.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
All, NO i mean anyone want to argue about that.
Fact i'm just spitting, fact just the.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
Facts man back in a.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Moment this is The Liam Cohen, show soon to Be
JACK'S hq on The Jaguars Radio.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Network welcome.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Back The Liam Cohen, show presented By fresh From florida
continues right, Now, well come.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Back it is The Liam Cohen show for the final,
time tas H q begins next week Because masselli And
gladstone are back and we'll have.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
That Jo he'll through and then, listen it goes back
to what we talked. About listen three. Four WHEN i
get That i've been here the, longest Which jeff AND
i have been here the, longest and Since i'm by,

(12:41):
POSITION i have seen your seniority To. Jeff at this,
POINT i will be the one leaving and it'll Be
james And liam this.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Declaration from the up.

Speaker 6 (12:52):
HERE i believe that WHEN i see it.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
FROM i might Be i'll be, saying think somewhere.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Else, listen you know it Was it was funny conversation
Because liam loves to communicate with our fans AND i
think everyone who's seen him in the press and what
he does at the press conferences and loves talking, football
and really it was just, like let's make sure like
there's no, distractions especially this Week week one going in

(13:21):
and they've been, grinding spending long hours here getting the
game plan, ready and really excited about the game plan
we have going in and the. Practices we've had two
good practices out there and guys doing everything we, asked
so excited for what's coming.

Speaker 7 (13:37):
Up so along the lines of functional, AWARENESS i gotta
ask you a question About ted. McMillan oh, yeah, OKAY i,
MEAN i mean he had to be kind of on
the radar so for you, guys, right you, know what
do you think of him and what do you expect
to see out him this?

Speaker 6 (13:54):
WEEK i look forward to seeing, him seeing him. PLAY
i know there was definitely intrigue throughout the draft process
to you, know consider adding a bigger body genre to
our wide receiver. Groom obviously we did that In Tim,
patrick and we're jack to Have tim on. Site, uh
BUT i think he presents challenges that you, know come
with just the body type and obviously in addition to,

(14:15):
it the multi sport facet. Background, RIGHT i think that
shows itself in his. GAME a lot of body can mean.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
By that because a lot of people don't know what
you're talking.

Speaker 6 (14:24):
About, yeah he's a former volleyball. Player that was His,
uh that was his. Passion, yeah that was his sport
coming up as a young. Kid and, uh you, know
he found football along the way and showed promise there
obviously now playing at a really high. Level BUT i
know for, him volleyball was something that really called to
him as. Well and, uh he has some pretty impressive

(14:44):
high ats from his high school days and you, know
being able to elevate above the net and block block
shots so to. Speak like we were just talking about
with our defensive front and uh so his ball. SKILLS
i think that that shows up on the field and
points back to some of his experience on the cour. Work,
NONETHELESS i think for somebody his stature of being able
to move the way that he does and be in

(15:05):
control of his limbs the way that he is is a.

Speaker 5 (15:07):
Challenge he was fun to.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
Watch did you guys Had did you have high school?
Volleyball we did?

Speaker 6 (15:13):
Not, Yeah my high school actually was best in the.
STATE i wasn't invited to. Play we did not know
WHEN i was growing.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
Up we had female, volleyball. Women's, yeah we did not have.
Male you think we had College we, did, obviously but.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
Not in the high.

Speaker 6 (15:31):
School oh, yeah us he had.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
Great he had great volleyball. TEAM a lot of a lot.

Speaker 6 (15:35):
Of kids out of in high school ended up IN.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Us.

Speaker 6 (15:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
Yeah and Watching tet on tape coming out leading the,
draft Everything james said is.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
Right he's gonna be a.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
CHALLENGE i, mean he's a he and he runs well
for a guy his size and and the route running,
ability you, know for young receiver is pretty. Good and
he's a good football, player and he's someone we're up
to account, for and it'll be interesting matchup for our.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
Corners And xavier'll get on the other side, too another.

Speaker 6 (16:05):
Big, body another dense human, being, Right and it's a
little different skill set than T, max but nonetheless presents
its own own. Challenges and they got a nice LITTLE
i do like the idea of varied genres within a position,
group and they got it right. Now even Though Hunter,
renfro who had originally been released as a part of

(16:28):
their roster, reduction he presents a totally different skill set
than the other, two and so obviously you gotta just
be prepared for seeing a few different looks and how
those skill sets are likely to be, activated and know
the situations in which you gotta gotta be. Ready.

Speaker 7 (16:45):
Now The, panthers, THOUGH i think that just guessing, here
but probably not a. Guess they're gonna go for the run,
game just like you guys probably want to run the.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
BALL i, Mean Cuba hubbard pretty good back eighth in
the league last year in, rushing.

Speaker 7 (16:59):
Got an offensive line for the most part that's going
to be, returning and obviously the injury at left. Tackle
they Added dowbtle from The Dallas cowboys to that running back,
room and they also got a net in as.

Speaker 6 (17:12):
Well brother we love.

Speaker 5 (17:13):
Uh, Yeah so we're gonna have a couple.

Speaker 6 (17:16):
Brother matchups this season With devon's brother being IN la as,
well so it won't be the only time that we
get to see guys facing.

Speaker 7 (17:24):
Off is are They are they wired to run the.
Ball WHEN i say wired to run, IT i mean
there's some people that pay lip service to run the? Ball,
Uh and there are certain people that are really committed
to running the. Football are they committed to running the? Football?

Speaker 6 (17:43):
Yeah here's the exciting thing from my. Perspective, obviously they're
going into a second season under the new leadership, group,
right AND i think they're emphasizing physicality and the run
game in a very similar way that we're emphasizing physicality
and the run. Game and so what's exciting for me
is that we get to see that come head to
head in our first game day action as a twenty

(18:06):
twenty five football. Team and so because we've been talking
about that a lot and facing an opponent who has
been talking about that a, lot we get to see
how those match up and whether or not one team
can show itself better or. Worse, Right and so from
my vantage, POINT i do think that while they've been
emphasized from both. Programs now we get to actually see
whether or not there's.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
Proof and you look at where they've invested, too in
those two big, guards and so there's a. Commitment you,
know you Got Tchubba hubbard we talked, about who had
a great year last. Year but then you look at
the investment just from where they put their dollars in
those two big guards and two big physical. Guys and
they Got moting at the right, tackle who is a good.
Pro with injury at left, tackle we'll see what happens. There,

(18:48):
yeah the dependicitis. Surgery it will be two Weeks, Sunday
so whether he can come back or, not we'll find Out.
Sunday but they're a team that and Like james, said
the talk out of camps about physical and the fun
thing for me as an offensive lineman is like all
the talking's, fine and we've been preaching it. Here i'm

(19:08):
sure they've been preaching it. There but at the end
of the, day we're gonna find out who the more
physical team is and who can really show Up sunday
and play that brand of.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
Football All, right.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
We'll come back in a moment and we will get
to This jaguars offensive line against This carolina defensive, front
and some final. Thoughts how long we got you the whole? Hour,
Right since we'll change the whole, show, right we might
as well do the whole.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
Hour we'll go to thirty five to forty just like
we like three quarters forty.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Five three quarters is forty, Five.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
Okay we'll go to just a natural.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
Breakpoint, Yeah actually we'll, know we'll, know we're gonna find
out one way or.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Another we're no longer.

Speaker 5 (19:43):
Here you know it's.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Over it's JAGS hq On Jaguars. Radio, well become.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Back The Liam Cohen, show presented By fresh From florida
continues right.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Now that's what you.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Think The Liam Cohen show is soon to be Called
JAG's hq starting next.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Week, however you gotta be. Nimble that's what we. Are,
agile that's what we are. Here we are agile on this.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
PROGRAM Jp, Shadwick Jeff logerman As Tony, boselli you might
have heard of. Him James, gladstone general manager with us as.
Well we'll have Some Liam cohen action throughout this season
on this program as. Well but everybody will be. Involved
and that's why the reranding will begin next Week JAGGS hq.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
Here on The Jaguars Radio.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
Network so let's continue now with this matchup this, week,
guys and The jaguars offensive line starters have been Set
Walker little at left, Tackle Ezra cleveland left, Guard Robert
hainsey at, Center patrick McCarey at right, Guard Anton harrison
at right, tackle and the matchup this. Week there's some
big fellows on that defensive. Line Eyshan robinson showed up

(20:57):
on the injury report today with a growing issue for
the first time. Limited Derek brown missed most of last
season sixteen, games and he's, back the big guy From.
Auburn those are two of the big guys up. Front
so how About. Tony the matchup of this offensive line
and their first game together as a starting.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Five, WELL i, MEAN i.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
Think what you just talked about is a little bit
of the unknown Because Derek, brown prior to THE acl
injury had last year Game week, one was one of
the best three techniques in, football especially against the. Run
disruptive in the, past not a sack artist, guy but
you know when it came trying to run the ball against,
him you had to account for him and usually with

(21:36):
four hands.

Speaker 5 (21:37):
To get you, know bodies on.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
Him, now the big question, is And, jeff you've been
through AN, ACL i have as, well what is he
like coming back early in the.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
Season did he have AN acl or a meniscus?

Speaker 4 (21:48):
REPAIR i BELIEVE i thought it was a FULL i
thought it was a clu and.

Speaker 5 (21:53):
Meniscus, YEAH i.

Speaker 6 (21:54):
DON'T i don't know what.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
BECAUSE i know it was the.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
Knee but the reality is it was a significant knee
where it cost him and he only played a couple
of snaps in the. Preseason and so the question is
is what is the status of that knee and what
does it look like coming? Back you, know because he's
a he is a dominant player when when healthy and week,
one you just don't.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Know ai says he suffered a season ending. Toiscus, okay
it was a.

Speaker 4 (22:23):
Funiscus and so you look at him and and if
you assume that he is AND i think you have
to as an offensive line going, in you have to
assume It's Derek brown that was prior to the knee.
Injury and if that's the, case you got your hands.
Full and he's a, guy he's one of one of

(22:43):
those guys in this league that can change the entire.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
Game he's got a really good coach.

Speaker 5 (22:48):
Too he does have a good, Coach Todd wassh was
here for a number of.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Years we like him, personally a good guy.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
PERSONALLY i know some of our fans don't love him
as the defensive but that's.

Speaker 5 (22:58):
Okay but he. Is, uh he's a.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
Handful and then A Shawn robinson's another. Guy you know him,
Well alabama. Kid it's ten years in the league, now
yeah he's. Yep but he's another huge. Bea so he
got these two huge bodies and when you want to
run between the, tackles you better be.

Speaker 6 (23:16):
Filled i've got a lot of respect For ashawan after
a few years In Los angeles with, him AND i
think he was a sleeper element to the win in
The Super bowl versus The Cincinnati bengals and being able
to halt their run in that. Game. Uh and there
were a lot of quiet plays if you're just watching
from the, sidelines but if you're really focused him forcing

(23:38):
a lot of action to the perimeter and being able
to wrangle those backs in that. Setting so he does
a great job and just remain in stout and disrupting
the natural order of any run fits for or even
any of our pass and landing spots for our offensive.
Line BUT i think the depth of that group on
the interior also has to be. Acknowledged they were a

(23:58):
poor run stopping team a year, ago and they addressed
it throughout the course of the off. Season And Bobby
brown and Also, Wharton bobby was somebody that we drafted
In Los, angeles another big body that remains stout in
the run. Game and Then wharton is one that causes
a lot of havoc and disruption very quick and sort
of pairs well with those other guys because he is

(24:19):
somebody that's gonna not always remain sound within his his run,
fits but is gonna disrupt some stuff and force it
to look more chaotic than you would. Prefer as an.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
Offense what do they.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Have on the.

Speaker 7 (24:33):
Edge you know that they can test the tackles because
they kind of use a combination of true ends and.

Speaker 6 (24:40):
Linebackers, no that's a great, point and they accounted for
that through pro free agency in the. Draft you, KNOW
i think through, that really these young guys that are
really backups are players that they're excited, about AND i
think they should be. Right they showed up in the
preseason And princely and how do you Score?

Speaker 3 (24:59):
PRINCELY i was Calling Princely, princely um Uman, meellen.

Speaker 6 (25:05):
He was he was A, gator then a.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
Rebel no?

Speaker 6 (25:10):
Need what About Nick Scot, Yeah gordon's another. One went
From purdue To TEXAS a and M he's.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Rolling, OUT i mean and THEN i, ol, days you
gotta have.

Speaker 5 (25:20):
That these guys go, yeah And i'll tell you.

Speaker 6 (25:23):
What gordon's originally A texas. Native so he goes To
Indiana purdue and, decides you know, What i'm coming back.
Home i'm going To i'm going to become An. Aggie
and you, know he changed his body a little. Bit
he went up and, wait production dipped AND i think
he's now back to his preferred playing. Weight and you

(25:43):
saw that in his performance through the. Preseason way more active,
rangey going from one hash to sideline and chase him.
Play so he was showing up in a big.

Speaker 4 (25:52):
Way he's a little bit, squatty but At, purdue correct
me If i'm wrong With.

Speaker 5 (25:57):
James he had a great inside spin.

Speaker 6 (25:59):
Moves spin move is really what he.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
And then he got he got heavy and it wasn't
the same AT a AND. M and so he's somebody
that can rush the. PASSER i mean At purdue he
was a past us. SPECIALIST i mean he impacted and
affected the, quarterback whether it's getting him to the, ground pressures.
Hits was not as effective AT a AND. M but

(26:22):
if he got his weight back to where he's At,
purdue he's someone that you better account. FOR i, mean
he's gonna he's gonna be able to, turn bend the,
edge get to the top of the rush and and
uh stress the. Tackle so he's aye bested quite a
bit in that.

Speaker 6 (26:35):
Area, well and then there are starters tapping Into Patrick.
Jones that was somebody who had a slower ramp into THE.
Nfl was he A vikings, Guy He's, Vikings, yeah, yeah
but he's really found his, footing sets the edge, well
very stable in his rush, plans doesn't screw things, up
and he's hard to account for it because he's always

(26:56):
in the right. Spot and then Won him's in a
very similar spot.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
On, him another Former. Biking, right you got two Former.
Vikings it's in.

Speaker 5 (27:02):
Three four structure of their, defense so that's be their.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
Base.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
Look, yeah and so again something we saw week one Against,
pittsburgh so something you have a little bit of familiarity.
With but, again when you're in, base some of those rules,
Change your protection rules change a little. Bit and you
know kind of how the communication up front because you
see so much four three that's what our guys practice
against almost all the time obviously here and so now
you're getting to a three four and so making sure

(27:27):
you're on the screws with communication and calls and getting
to the right point you, know to the second level
is gonna be. IMPORTANT i, mean those are all key
things in the run.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Game all, right final few minutes with you, here. Guys
But Liam cohen talked about it this week at his
press conference On. Wednesday you know you AND i think
even back On, monday you know you've done all this
prep and practice and installation and you're, building but then
you just there's some things you just don't know about
your football team until you roll the football out there

(27:56):
in week one and see. It the confidence level is
there that the work is. In but for a first
time head, coach he understands that you got to see
it during the. Games you talk about evaluating from game, Action,
well this is where the rubber has to hit the
road for the. Team there's a lot of unknown going
Into week. One how do you feel about the? Unknown
how do you deal with it as a?

Speaker 6 (28:17):
STAFF i think you just got to embrace it for
what it is and be agile throughout the course of the.
Game obviously at this point heading into a first, game
new leadership, group new coaching, STAFF i think you just
go in and focus on yourself more than anything and
root yourself there and then adapt as things unfold in real.

(28:38):
Time got a lot of confidence in Who liam is
as a leader and him being able to trust his,
gut his, feel his sense for how the game is,
evolving and being able to adjust to. That so really
looking forward to ultimately seeing what we've preached to date
show itself come to, life and eager to see that

(29:00):
that really uh really come to fruition and really kick
off the season in the right.

Speaker 5 (29:05):
Way part of.

Speaker 7 (29:06):
The part of the unknowns too is the. Role AND
i think a lot of fans really are curious to
know what role That Travis hunter will. Have is that
something that that you keep to the vest just as
a you, know competitive, advantage or is this something that
you know is going to be constantly changing from week to.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
Week he's gonna be on the field a.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Lot i'll say that.

Speaker 6 (29:29):
You're not gonna want to reveal that from a week
to week basis knowing that it is in fact a
game plan, weapon right because then our opponents will have
to consider all.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Options AND i think part of that too roster composition
for game. Day you can't have all fifty three guys.

Speaker 7 (29:45):
Active that's got to help on game day when it
comes to trying to you, know we've got a player
who can potentially be two ways to maybe gain you,
know a player here or.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
There.

Speaker 6 (29:58):
Right, WELL i think it's fun because the way in
Which i've been accustomed to building out what everybody would
know to be a draft, board call it call, sheet
but we bucket players in headers that one of which
includes math. Changer it's a very good, player right and
we've Had Travis hunter listed as a math. Changer now

(30:22):
that's quite literally the case because if you have forty eight,
active him being one of them being able to play both,
ways it's really a forty. Ninth it's literally a math
changing place for. Him so it is it's a benefit for,
sure because now you have an added, jersey so to
speak on game, day and you're seeing it more that
we've seen it in the. Past there are players who

(30:43):
have done this at different, spots whether it's a defensive
lineman who plays full back every now and, then Or
baltimore and, yes that's exactly, right OR i guess The
chargers got it, now which no, Surprise harball, Right so same,
thing but you're seeing it in the college game right
now as. Well there's A utah linebacker who is playing

(31:03):
tight end called a touchdown pass just a week ago
after playing the full game as a, linebacker and his
brother also plays in THE, Nfl. Martin but nonetheless that
those ARE i think people are becoming a little bit
more willing to entertain the flexibility of a player right
across multiple phases of the. Game we do that with

(31:27):
offense to special teams or defense to special, teams but
so rarely offense to defense or defense to, offense AND
i would like to think that that may become more
of a.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
Norm James, Gladstone Tony.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Boselli the new show Is JAGGS hq taking the place
in the Year Liam Cohen show starting next.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Week it's to be.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
Fun what a great opportunity we got coming up Here Carolina.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
Panthers love.

Speaker 5 (31:49):
It first game, ever.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
First game ever In.

Speaker 7 (31:53):
KANSAS i just REMEMBER i didn't HAVE i had legs
that felt like they weighed a thousand.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
Pounds but it's a you, know it's. FUN i, Mean
james talked about, it you asked the. QUESTION i, mean
everything we've been talking about working towards is now we
get to go. Test AND i think the biggest Thing
i'm looking forward to this whole. Thing you see the
guys go out there and, play obviously and see how
physical we can, be but also how do we how
do we face an address, adversity because it's, coming it's

(32:23):
coming within the, game it's coming within the. Season and
the great teams and the teams that ultimately reach the
goals that they've said and you, know fight for playoff
spots and getting the playoffs and ultimately everyone wants to
win a. Championship but the successful teams are the teams
that face the adversity the best and overcome. It and
that's What i'm looking forward to because that's a. Test

(32:45):
this everything every week's a. Test the first one's coming,
up And i'm looking forward to seeing how we face those, Challenges.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Tony, james thanks for your. Time we'll talk to you
again next. Week, wait, yes on a different, show different different,
show different same, channel different.

Speaker 5 (33:04):
Show and you might have different people in here, too
you might have extra. People you never.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
Know, well you gotta get extra microphones or kick you.

Speaker 4 (33:10):
Out, Well i'm happy To i'm happy to step out
IF i need. To, Okay james will not give up
To Mike keith.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Love loves it. Talking he's growing into the. ROLE i can.

Speaker 4 (33:18):
See it is like the biggest shock of the week
is When james, like, hey what we just do it every.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
Week, okay there we. Go you said. It here we.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Are this is A Liam Cohen show soon to be
JAGS hq on The Jaguars Radio.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
Network Welcome.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Back The Liam Cohen, show presented By fresh From florida
continues right.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Now and welcome. Back it Is Liam Cohen. Show soon
to Be next Week JAG's.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Hq moving.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Ahead we're on The Jaguars Radio, network presented by The
university Of, florida number one university in THE Us news
And World, reports number one state for. Education Jap, Shadwick Jeff,
Logoman Tony, Boselli James, gladstone and of, this and as
the season rolls, along we'll have the head coach roll
through occasionally as. Well but you heard the reasoning behind
it From Tony, boselli and you know, what it was

(34:10):
actually really good having them in the preseason every. Week
they were fantastic info and behind the scenes thoughts and
how they build the. Team but now we're gonna get
it in the regular season.

Speaker 7 (34:21):
Too, NO i think it's great and AND i get.
IT i, mean you got a first time head coach
who is you, know got offensive play calling responsibilities and
also the head coaching duties and it's his first. TIME
i get. It you, know let them focus on some
of the important. Things and the great thing is is
That liam's always been very available and open with the,

(34:42):
media and so when you watch his press, CONFERENCES i
think he does a great. Job it's very, informative it's very,
entertaining and he's very open and honest and as transparent
as he can.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
Be so so from that aspect of, IT i really appreciate.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
It the bank will be open This sunday for The
Panthers jaguars, matchup and if you joined us in the,
preseason it's a similar. Experience to get into the stadium
as it was back in the preseason first, game so
the In bowl experience is the same this. Year access
the main concourse for full circulation around the. Stadium the

(35:17):
one thing that they The jaguars want to inform fans
about is when you leave the, stadium use that main
concourse to get where you came, in because once you're,
outside you're really outside and it's hard to get back
around to your parking. Spot that's one. Thing you can
bring two commercially, branded factory sealed plastic bottles of water
per ticket, holder refillable water stations. Throughout it's going to be,

(35:39):
hot and cups and ice are available at all guest service,
boosts SO jta cooling, buses all. That all the information
At jaguars dot. Com check it. Out Chad, JOHNSON, coo
spoke with the media today that conversation and more detail
at the team. Website, also let's come back in a.
Moment that's gonna be a Fun. Sunday you're looking for.
It so it's kickoff WEEK mjp and it's kicking off.

(36:01):
Tonight oh, yeah we'll get to that coming up. Too
by the, way we'll return though With Jen. Hale she
has the sidelines for THE nfl On fox in her
fifteenth season covering the. League that's coming up next her
thoughts On Bryce young for The panthers And Travis hunter's
usage for The. Jags It's The Liam Cohen show soon
to Be JAGS hq On Jaguars.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Radio Welcome.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
Back The Liam Cohen, show presented By fresh From florida
continues right now for the final.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
Time William Cohen, show soon to be Branded JAGGS. Hq
starting next, week we Had Tony, Boselli James gladstone and.
Studio they'll be with us most. Weeks we'll have the
head coach occasionally roll. Through on This thursday show on
The Jaguars Radio. Network The panthers And jaguars meet up This.
Sunday Jen hale has the sideline reporting for THE nfl On,
fox and she enters her fifteenth season covering the. LEAGUE

(36:57):
lsu Graduate MISS, lsu a master's degree From, northwestern longtime
LOCAL tv reporter Throughout louisiana and In birmingham and then
working with The saints And pelicans In New orleans before
getting a break With. Fox plenty to discuss with This
Panthers jaguars, matchup Including Travis hunter's usage and How panthers
Quarterback Bryce young is.

Speaker 8 (37:16):
Matured, yeah last year was an up and down experience for,
him a growing time for. Him but look to his,
credit that can't be easy being the number one pick
and getting, benched but he took it and he used
it to make himself, better to do a true self,
scout not to. Pout so to, me that showed a

(37:36):
tremendous amount of, maturity and his teammates certainly think so,
Too and that's part of the biggest buy ins that you,
Need you need the team around your quarterback to believe in.
Him and we actually my crew Had bryce's game coming
back from the, benching and so many of his teammates
talked about it's just a different, guy the, confidence the

(37:58):
way he carries, himself the way he speaks to, others
the way he's. Engaged now he's moving like a. Veteran
so the benching was so good for him from that,
Perspective but the stats also tell the. STORY jp after
his benching almost a sixty two percent completion. Rate he
was rushing a ton two hundred and twenty three yards five,

(38:18):
Touchdowns so this should be the next step for him
now building off of, that now that he has that new,
mindset now that he's had a full off season with
canallets to really settle. In and, Look carolina's tried to
surround him with some. Weapons they took a wide Receiver
Team mac in the draft that's supposedly supposed to be

(38:39):
an absolute beast on the. Field you've Got Xavier lagett still.
There my question is in that wide receiving. Corps they
had some shakeups very last. Minute their wily Veteran Adam
feelin got traded back to The Minnesota, vikings and then
they Had Jalen coker go ON ir right around the same,

(39:00):
time right as the preseason was. Ending so besides T
mac And, lagett do they have the weapons to get
it done For Bryce young because he needs to be
surrounded by a lot of. Weapons they also have some
injury questions on the old, line including one time then
who had to have a deck to mey. Emergently so
how does that wide receiving course back? Up and is

(39:21):
THAT o line healthy enough to Buy bryce enough? Time
those are my two big question marks for The panthers This.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Sunday Josh allen two and a half sacks away from
the franchise career, records so he's he's looking at his
chops with that offensive line entry as. Well Jen hale
with us from THE nfl On fox has the sidelines
of The panthers and The. Jaguars all, right what's the
coverage plan For Travis? Hunter from The FOX tv, perspective
we are going.

Speaker 8 (39:45):
To be all over. Him this is the, storyline, right
everybody's talking about this. NATIONALLY i think even more so
than the storyline of two former number one picks going
at it at. Quarterback it's so unusual and so refresh
to see a guy Like Travis hunter who doesn't just
want to play both. Ways he demanded to play both.

(40:06):
Ways this is the era of rest of limited, snapcount
saving myself to the, end and here's this. Rookie he's
tipping that all on its head and, saying, no give me,
more give me. More can he sustain?

Speaker 6 (40:20):
It?

Speaker 8 (40:20):
Though because the speed of THE nfl, game it's so much,
faster it's so much more. Intense how much does he get?
Defensively And i'm going to guess it's going to change
week to week based on the. Matchups it's really fascinating
to me how they are managing his, minutes not just
from a game, perspective but from a preparation perspective during the,
week because you spend so much time in your respective,

(40:41):
rooms the wide receiver, room the cornerback, room the defensive line. Room,
right how does a rookie who's trying to digest a
new system and a faster way of doing things at faster,
pace how does he double the workload by doing? Both
SO i cannot wait for to sit down with him
On friday in meetings, tomorrow and that's going to be

(41:04):
my first, questions, room is how have you divvied up his?
Workload when you go home at night from the practice?
Facility what do you open up first your offensive, playbook
your defensive. PLAYBOOK i think it's going to be a
very curious thing how he attacks this from a preparation.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
Standpoint Jen hale's sideline reporter for THE nfl On fox
the exclusive extended interview available in The Official Jaguars Podcast
network Or jaguars Dot.

Speaker 3 (41:28):
Com back with more in a.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
Moment this is The Liam Cohen, show soon to be
JAGS hq on The Jaguars Radio.

Speaker 1 (41:35):
Network show presented By fresh From florida continues right.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
Now this will be rebranded next week To JAGS. Hq
we'll Have bisselli And James gladstone most. Weeks the head
coach will roll through On thursdays as well as the
season moves ALONG Jp shadwick With Jeff logoman and The
panthers And jaguars coming. Up it Is Liam cohen's head coaching.
Debuts he's got some decisions to make in game now
he hasn't had to worry about.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Earlier in his.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
Career he's got the big headset on now and the
challenge flag and a win to kick and punt and
they've got really good specialists to do so and when
to all this is on the table For Liam cohen
for the first time in a real game with real
bullets On.

Speaker 7 (42:21):
Sunday when you missed one of the one of the first.
Ones heads are, tails you, know take the ball or?
Defer yeah, RIGHT i mean those ARE i mean that's
just a, small simple example of some of the decisions
that a head coach has got to. Make BUT i
mean the game is full of important game changing decisions
that a head coaches that he has and it's also

(42:44):
not just on the offensive side of the, ball but
he also has to sometimes lean over to the defensive
side of the ball and maybe have a little influence
on that side of the, ball as he, should because
he's the head, coach and all of these things are,
new and every time that they're, NEW i think you
go through the mechanics of it and you practice it
as best you. Can and and the preseason games were

(43:05):
obviously very important for a lot of. That but then
you add in the very talented specialists that you, have
with a kicker that's got a big leg and a
punter that's A Pro bowl level punter and long snapper
on same, level and you, know all of a, sudden
if the ball is, that let's say the opponent's forty,
five what are you gonna? Do, yeah on fourth and,

(43:29):
FIVE i, mean do you kick? It do you punt?

Speaker 3 (43:32):
It what do you?

Speaker 2 (43:32):
Do we'll find out On sunday what he has in
store for that when we're back in a moment with
our final. Thoughts The Liam Cohen Show soon to Be

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
