Speaker 1 (00:01):
That was delicious. A little snacky poop we had there.
You're welcome. Dense banana bread. Dense banana bread. Also very
like yoky egg that we just had on that little
bacon eggroll. You've got all the egg I got? Did
I really? I scraped it off the bottom of it.
Did you say something? I'm just polite like that. You
should have said something. I was thinking. Meanwhile, Vick was like,
(00:25):
we're fucking an l a for record, Welcome back to
(00:46):
two noting dads. I am Maddie Ja and this is
a podcast all about parenting. It is the good, it
is the bad and the late. And if you come
for advice, shut up. What are you doing? You're in
the wrong place. What are you doing here? Stay, stay
a while, have a seat. Don't think she's doing one
little check. That's what I like it. He's like, yeah,
she said, Limba, Dan's a lucky man. She's going to
(01:10):
read it now like a little possum vicar. She's just like.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Scurry the Speaking of possums, there's a possumus. There's a
possum in the tree near the park at rocket Ship Park.
For those of you playing along at home, which is
in Warrwood, which some people were like, I know, rockets.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
We've got a rocket ship park at BONDI. That's probably
better than I've seen your one. You're supposed to go.
Your rocket ship park is fucking proper, proper, like launches
you up and down and like you get not quite
zero gravity. But it's you've got the rocket ship park
that works. That's just the aesthetics how doesn't work. It's
just like enough about the rockets and the ships. Possums.
(01:49):
There's possums in the tree. And I was like, look,
there's a there's a possum in the tree. And I
was like yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
I was like, but there's a possum in the tree
right there, Okay, in a little burrow, in a little nest.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Yeah. And she's like, yeas been there for years. That's
a spot had a name. I can't remember the name.
I'll figure it out, but just thought that reminded me
of that, and I was like, how have I I'm
quite observant and I missed this one. Okay, do you
have any posslems. I'm just saying that everyone else knows
about this possible but me, I don't know. Did you
know about the possible well, actually I did know about
(02:20):
the puzzle. Keep us updated on the possum. I will
actually like now that we know about the possum. It
was like tucked into a little burrow like they have babies. Okay,
fixed fu. It was the bacon. Is that what happened?
Is that a bad mood? Look, I apologize. That's hot.
It's a bit warm in here. The lights are on,
(02:40):
We're full of bacon egg rolling. I'm still a little
bit sick. So alay, let's go, let's push on. Actually,
let's just start off, and let's just take a moment
to really say thank you to Ash for sucking it up,
getting dressed, coming in here, dragging himself into the studio
and being here for the record. After I could only imagine,
(03:01):
it's just been a horrible forty eight hours with this illness.
What have you got since Friday? What I got? Just
the man for now? Everyone's been sick in my house.
It's been brutal. Stinks in there.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
I had to get out, what do you mean just
stinks like people in inhabiting the place that haven't haven't
left the house. I literally walked out of the house
for the first time today in like four days.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
I was like, people are like, hey, how are you
when you're like, oh that I can't. I don't know
how to talk anymore. Anyway, It's plenty to be here.
So has anyone else been told about the possum story
or have you been holding onto that.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Since it's a good get and that's the first one
that's you're the first people check notes.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
And I was like, Ash has an exciting update on
possums next week, we have an update on the studio.
Just when you thought that coming to an end, because
Vick was like, ah, you guys are get another fucking
or what about my side? We're coming in and she's
bluddy painted, her size, she's got jacuzzi in the corner,
used jet ski. He's got skylight coming down from her end.
(04:04):
She's got photos of these kids. We don't even know
who they are. Your kids beautiful? And who's this lumber
over here?
Speaker 2 (04:10):
I want to point this this photo out really quick.
Just had a frame, she's had a frame.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
It's young Vic? How old Vic? How old is that turtle?
Speaker 3 (04:19):
I reckon? That looks like preschool?
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Like you maybe five years old?
Speaker 1 (04:24):
No fence? You would you you were so tall? Your
manchild you've got to be older than that. I don't
really know my ages.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Maybe seven six.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
You're ready to fight? Look at those fists.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Yeah, terrified of the teenager.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Just a handy hint on throwing punches. Don't tuck your
thumby in, You'll break it.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
She's standing next to I'll get you a Ninja Turtle?
Is that Leonardo? A teenage Leonard looks like he's been
on the source. Tell her, I'll tell you what I'm enough.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
I think that was that Sydney Wonderland.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
My uncle was the manager of Wonderland, so we used
to go for free all the time. Yeah, after hours,
like after hours, it was like the last it was like.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
A god, should we ride the roller coaster?
Speaker 1 (05:22):
I'll gue you.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Don't want to hear I was in the teenage being
Ninja Turtle fan club?
Speaker 1 (05:34):
What is that? What does that entailed? Pizza? I think.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
I think it was just like you received like a
newsletter once a year and maybe some.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Stickers and with what's happening?
Speaker 4 (05:44):
Actually, no, you've got a badge, like a police badge,
turtle badge. So he feels like a member.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
And did you were you into it?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Is that so into?
Speaker 4 (05:51):
I watched every episode. That's why I wanted to be
a journalist. I wanted to be April O'Neill.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Oh yeah, well, the good thing is your T shirt.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
There's something that correlates to that. Writing is fun.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Writing is fun.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
The nerds, the bullies a big fucking that time with
that one you do. You're a very good writer.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
And you're looking great with your new green wall.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Thank you your standard.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
That for me, the green wall is expanding. It's like
a virus. I've got the lone white wall there and
you got the shelves. Yeah, I feel like you think
we overordered on the shelves.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
I feel like it's sort of like when you've started
dating someone and then they give you like a draw
or like we're married. The things are true. It's not
a threesome.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Wow. Wow, my wife listens to this podcast is mine.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
But thank you for giving me some shelves.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
That's okay, that's your Christmas present. Hey, someone made a suggestion.
Were posted a video about little tour of the studio
and what belongs on our shelves and someone had a suggestion,
why don't you put poppies and bilical cord on the shelf,
which is still currently my bedside table, along with the utensils,
the clamps and the That's what I used because the guy,
(07:08):
the obstetrician, was like, this will just go on the
bin take them, and I was like, I don't try.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
You're telling me, Yeah, what about your mom? Does your
mom have your foreskin still?
Speaker 1 (07:16):
No, she didn't keep that unfortunately, So maybe I'll bring
in the ambilical cord. It's very like it's like a raisin.
It's tiny, tiny, it's black.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Now why is it on your bedside table?
Speaker 1 (07:25):
I don't know, it's fun to chew on. Well, I
just want to fell off. I put it there and
then and then I never left and so it's still there.
And then how begins? It's how it starts. I'm actually
going to have a fridge full of human remains and
if that happens, like, I just want you to know
that you can visit me whenever you want in prison.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Oh, did Lola's tooth fall out?
Speaker 1 (07:47):
No? I don't know. If it's wobbling. Lola's ever she
gets my phone, she always records a video being like,
hey guys, I got a wobbly tooth. Got a couple.
She's logging, she's vlogging about her wobbly teeth, and to
be honest, I just said it was wobbly, just to
kind of like Bill Gibson because everyone that's a pretty
(08:07):
good reference because all the kids are losing teeth and
my kids haven't lost any teeth yet. And it was
just easier. And I know you're gonna roll your eyes
at this, dick, it was easy for me to say,
you got wobbly teeth. And Lula was like, how many?
And I was like, oh, on three. And so she
keeps telling people it's about to fall out.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
But it's like I was, yeah, looking to see her going,
You're about to fall out, and your behind a.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Going literally so youah, no teeth have fallen out. Okay,
so she's still got all of the baby teeth, all
the baby teeth. Nic although did do did do the
X ray? The teeth are there, apparently according to the dentist,
Oh you did a pre test. Well, Marley, we were
a little bit worried because she lost a tooth. And
I hope my brother is okay with me showing this information.
(08:52):
You've shared this plenty times. Okay, great, My brother only
ever had two adult teeth. Roughly ballpark. Yeah, he just
was born without them, so it looks.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Like a baby teeth.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
So he's now he could have fake teeth. It looks great.
He's had a lot of work done. I'm pretty sure
the University of Queensland did a study on him, because
that actually quite rare.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
That would be very it's.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
A rare case. How dare you laugh at my brother?
That's funny.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
So you think Lola or Marley could have that.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Is a genetic I don't know.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
But you're their dad, correct, But he's my brother, same Jesus.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
And also, my puberty came in very late. Hell, I
must have been like nineteen what eighteen? Maybe? What? No way?
Very late? No way.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Yeah, when you say coming in.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
You Victoria above the belt.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
Please, sorry, poor Joseph.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
It was when you say puberty is coming in? Yes,
what do you mean by that? Is this a gradual
thing over years?
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Yeah, it just took me a long time. I feel
like for man, the final step is facial hair. But
he doesn't know I was waiting. He doesn't know what
he's talking about. I was waiting for underarm hair. Okay, okay,
And that you think that's the mark, you've hit it. Yeah,
I was waiting. I was like, I'm not yet a
man until I've got the underarm hair. It just wouldn't come.
(10:21):
I don't know. Maybe there's a problem with my jeans.
Maybe I'm on my late baby. Yeah, okay, who knows.
I'm not a doctor, so wait what I know? All right? Well, housekeeping,
And first of all, I want to say we are
actually already in housekeeping.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
I just hope that everyone is surviving the first few
days of school holidays.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Three days into holidays, you're in Bali, I'm in Vietnam,
and Ash is in school holiday.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Hell, I'm sitting here waiting for you guys to come back.
I actually I just told Aple that you guys haven't
gone anywhere. I've got to go in heaps more so here,
I am what are you going to do? School holidays?
First of all, I forgot how do you forgar that?
I just think if I tune it out, maybe it
won't happen. The kids can continue to be interesting approach
that you've taken.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
Yeah, does April handle it?
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Actually she has handled it for majority of us, okay,
for majority of Like I'm gonna be there.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
That's called weaponized and confidence. And I think you're better
than that, am I?
Speaker 4 (11:21):
No?
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Anyway, Look, I think there's a couple of You've got
a couple of camp days on like.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Sports thing to motivate, motivate two days.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Of that ones with the Manly Seagulls, which is good
because he's pretty much a local down there.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
They do mainly segals in babysitting.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
What now they do, like I think all likes struggling financially,
same with like the paramount of eels and stuff like that,
because it's all about grassroots, the grassroots.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
It all sinks down to the lower which is the children.
The children, and they're like stay with us, yeah them Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
So they have the motivate camp on the day that
happens to be a man must be a manly sponsored day.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
And then a couple of players turn to do a
couple of things. But Ask has met them all that
many times? They like has a kid? Yeah, I don't know.
All the other kids will be like, oh my god,
the manly players, and Ask is like you again, so
you followed me around? It's got anyway.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
So Mother's Day was just in May. Okay, we are
in June. But I was meant to talk to you
about this.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
Then I forgot the size of an epidural needle. I
didn't know how big they were.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
Yeah, I saw these everywhere on Mother's Day. Actually, that
must have been the new campaign, like get us a
fucking present, because look at the size of this needle.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
April didn't have one because she had the Caesar. She
had no salad. She had the Caesar salad.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
No, we both You still have the epidural, yeah, because
it was the first one was emergency and the second one.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
You can still offer an epidura if you want, even
know it's going to be.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Because essentially what they want to do is you don't
want to feel anything from here down.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
So what do they durs? I'm probably asking the wrong
person these kind of question is I think? So?
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Hi big Well, I was like, can I please?
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Did you have a vaginal birth?
Speaker 3 (13:05):
No?
Speaker 4 (13:05):
I had two sea sections, same as Lewis, the same
as April. I had an emergency and then a planned
I knew that.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Yeah, right, when's your birthday recently?
Speaker 4 (13:21):
Okay, when you get a c section, you get a
spinal block or they if you've already had an epidural
and it's had to go into c section, that's why
you've got it. But it's it's generally they do a
spinal block. It acts the same as an epidural but
it literally cuts off all the feeling from your waist down.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
That's what I was exactly say that, exactly exactly word.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
It's the weirdest feeling I got to say.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
But this is it's just quickly just here go look
at the fucking side of that thing that makes me squam.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Oh god, that's that's like half a meter. That's like
a swords.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
And can I just say when I had to get
both of mine in, Dan wasn't allowed in the room
because they don't want your partner.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
In for whatever reason.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Fat, that's what happened me there, you goucking.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
Men anyway, Wow wow, sorry, love men, Love you guys.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
You're five, you know what, You're part of the problems.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
Okay, But it's really hard because you've got this giant
belly in front of you and you've got to bend
over so they can get a nice like.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Don't fat, shame down.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Hard bitch.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Sorry.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
And then the midwife she holds your hand because your
partner can't come in. It's awful.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
See I did that. I held the hand and that's
what did me over.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Dan wasn't allowed.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
He had to stay in the outside room. He's just
sitting there like what the fuck? And then I'm like,
where's my partner. I just want to hold his hand.
I held the hand of the midwife.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
That's probably a sturdier hand. I would say. Also, it's
important to remind people that growing up, men get random
erections which is the same size as and every during
you know, and that's a title awkward pain I would
not want to put on you when you've got to
tuck it up against your belt and it fucking like
(15:04):
it's robbing. You gotta be god, mushroom head. That's just
like it doesn't feel good. Consider considering yourself like it.
You don't have to go through that because.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
You know.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Anyway, I just wanted to bring to your at tension
and like that's it is. Thank you. Don't underestimate the
size of that needle. Women are amazing. Thank you you
good cover that.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Bab Now I've been sick. No, actually I want I'll spare.
I'll spare this conversation because this is probably more of
a behind closed doors conversation to have with you.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Anyway, there's nothing off limits here. What's happened?
Speaker 3 (15:44):
It's disgusting.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
People love it. People, that's all they needed. People when
I asked because we had a three year anniversary and
I wrote in the Facebook grip and I was like,
what are your favorite moments? And a couple of people
were like, Ash wanking in the shower.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
No, but I reckon that's because they like to see
hash injuring himself.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
With an injury. It doesn't.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
But I just wanted to ask you, when you're sick, okay,
and you're you know what you're meant to be resting,
you're at home, you're bored, you.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
Get every every drop of fluid is important, every drop
of fluid, well said, dehydrated. So what I think what.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Kept happening and I've done this for is where I
rest so much, but I'm also bored, and when I
start to feel a bit better, I think maybe I
could wank.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
And then I do, and then I feel worse, like
it depletes my energy. Is that is that a real thing?
Speaker 3 (16:43):
How vigorous are you being?
Speaker 2 (16:47):
But like I'm asking you, does that happen to you sometimes?
Speaker 1 (16:52):
If I'm really hungover, trying and jerk it out and
it feels good for it. Afterwards you're like, yay, and
then that's the noise I make after I come back. Yeah,
and then it's been the regret and then and it's
down Neil. From there, you kind of slump back into
I think I did it twice. I was like, I
(17:12):
was like, oh, I'm feeling heaps better, and then twice
and then I was like, oh, I got a problem.
Shut up. It's over four days twice. Over four days
is eight times.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
But I was like, Okay, I get to like, I'm
feeling better, starting to I feel like I'm recuperating, and
then I just two steps forward, one step back.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
It would be the same as going for a light jog. Yeah,
you like too much, too much elevated heart rate, your body.
Your body is still recovering. I'm so bored. Watch a movie,
read a book. It all ends up the same way.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
It's such a male response, I'm so bored. I just
have to work.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
When it comes out of your mouth, it sounds weird.
When I go down the mine, it sounds perfectly noise
PlayStation because it ends the same. I'm I'm just in
a comfy your chair anyway, Moving on, no injury off.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Just yeah, just a couple, just yeah, probably, yes, I
didn't wait three times before.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
The listeners are like, did you slip a fall in
your car? Where's the pain? Those pain was internal? Oh yeah,
I need to make just really quickly. I won't dwell
on this. And maybe it's Laura. Maybe she was like
I think she did a post what she said, third
child is the gateway drug to more children.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Oh yeah, she said that yesterday.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
And I was like, because everyone's like, have a fourth,
join us. All the families of four kids are like,
come come to the darks. Were happy. Look at us.
You can be like us. Yeah, you look like ships amount.
So I just need to say just very quickly. You know,
(18:56):
I'm not going to dwell in it. Like I said,
short and sharp, We're not gonna have a fourth. Not
going to happen. Have I had of a Secondmy No,
I haven't to get one. I will at some point.
I got a guy. I don't need your guy. I've
got my guy. The fourth we're two or too old.
Now too old. I'm thirty eight, thirty nine, thirty nine
in July, so you know I don't have time for
that six. To be specific, there is the rain Man
(19:19):
has spoken. Can I ask you a very quick question
and this will wrap up housekeeping? I think very quickly.
This is stressing me out. It's causing me so much anxiety.
So we are going to Bali right currently, I'm in Bali.
When you listen to this, you go, where's mounts in Bali?
But right now, must be honest, I'm in the studio
in a great looking I'm confused. So flight over to Bali? Right?
(19:43):
You know how like last time I went there, I
flew over by myself with the kids, with the kids.
And if people are like you got a Ballei a
lot because my wife works over there. Okay, what is
the hard working family?
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Just preface that you're actually are, thank you.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
So there's five of us now, me, Laura, the other three,
the other three. The plane that we're on is a
two four to two configure out Oh this again? Okay,
So I'm like, do you know what makes sense? Just
the roll four? Right? Well an agreeance there, roll four
(20:17):
And if you're thinking, hang on a second, four seats
five people, how's that going to work? Entrances to exits
poppies eight months So she we share her.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
She shared she's on her lap, she's seatless, she can
sit anywhere.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Correct. Okay, so we're all understanding of the situation currently.
So here is the question, the question that people get
in to, the question parents have wanted answers to for years,
And I'm now faced with this exact dilemma we didn't
we if it's the same question that we've been through,
we're doing this again. Oh okay, I'm going to shut
the fuck up. I've got it. You see it only
(20:52):
listen to this. I've been sitting the whole time. Good,
Do I get the row with the bassinette? Keeping in
mind that the arm rest are locked when you're in
the row with the bacinet, the arm rest are locked.
Now the bacinet obviously Poppy a bit old, but the
bassinet's there.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
Remind me how old Poppy will be on the flight.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
That's a good question. No one knows. No, she's nine months,
nine months and fucking what she's coming up to ten months?
Thank you, Ash, You're welcome. So do I get? Do
I get the bassinet row? But then the armrest of locks?
You can't you know? The kids want to lay laying
your lap? Or do I just piss off the bascinet.
(21:33):
Go for a row where there's no bascinet, but the
arm wrest will go up, so you can like make
it one big long row.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
Let's do this, don't do the bascinet. Okay, you have
Poppy and then the other three you just fight it out.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
So you just put Poppy on your lap. Sorry, I'll
take Poppy. I don't want Poppy wiggling. Oh she's too wiggly.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Now you've gotten what it's like you lay a baby
on your lap.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
You forgot Ash. You don't understand what we're going through
right now.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
I literally just spoke to Ash about this exact scenario.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Where was I before we recorded?
Speaker 1 (22:06):
How high am I when we have this conversation?
Speaker 4 (22:10):
So when we went to Valley two years ago, Lily
was eighteen months, so a little bit older, but it
was again two four to two, and so I thought, okay,
because Lily is it a basinet, it's actually three of us,
and we can't leave Louis by himself, you can. I
really wanted the bacinet. The four seats across were taken.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
But you know how there's that bit of a gap
and I thought you could walk through.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
So I stupidly booked two seats with the bacinet for
me and Louis, and then I booked one seat on
the other side of the plane for Dan, thinking we
could walk across through.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
You actually can't. You have to go all the way back.
Speaker 4 (22:49):
And around fucking flight.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Of his fours. Literally.
Speaker 4 (22:57):
He was sat next to another Kiwi lady who was like,
le's get on the wines.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
He's like great.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
Meanwhile, I've got Lily who was so big she didn't
want to sleep in the bassinet, and Louis, who was
watching six hours of Woar Patrol.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Oh my gosh. And when you talked, I was like
that was like pretty good. Seeds. Oh they just go yeh,
don't don't anything, don't anything, don't anything.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
And I think one of the ladies behind me felt
sorry for me, so she had she gave me a
glass of champagne.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Ah, that's nice. Was like, well, I have to walk
it all the way around because you booked the seeds. Okay.
So I don't want the bascinete, No.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
I think you do want the bassinet.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
What I would do, I see the arms vic arm
You're going to get a kid. If you've got the
arm up, you're going to get an unwanted kid like
crawling across you at any moment, because, like you said, Vic,
you know, I don't think puppy is too big. She
won't sleep in the bassinet anyway.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
No, at that age she will.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
Lily was eighteen, you know.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Much hard better than I do. Is that what we're saying?
Well we know it's age. Well I'll go fuck myself. Okay,
Well how's that feel?
Speaker 4 (23:58):
I reckon what you do is you and Laura take
the front two seats with Poppy in the bassinette. Give
the girls the two seats behind you, so they're in
their own little section. You can call it a cubby house.
And then they've got their own little seats and they
don't bother you as much.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
I just pretend they're not there, just like, who's keep
to these?
Speaker 3 (24:15):
So two and two behind each other.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Oh god, you just really put a spinner in the works.
It must be nice to have all these options. Interesting
when do you go? I actually thought I was going
on Saturday, and then.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Because I said, yeah, you're going on Saturday too, and
because I knew you were going Thursday, and.
Speaker 1 (24:30):
Then bloody Thursday come out of nowhere. I've lost two days.
I'm trying to make up for it. I'll keep everyone
posing for everyone right now is on the edge of this,
and they're like, I wonder what he gets what he
goes for. I think the two and two options is
the best. So you give a child each. I know
you've got a fifth child. That's a great shot. Child
a third child, do you know what? You know what's
going to happen. Lola will be like she got clinging,
and she'll be like, I want to be with you guys.
(24:53):
Then you end up swapping anyway Marley and Marley won't
give a shit. She's like, fuck you guys. Here you go.
Here's a question. Are you allowing screens on the plane?
They got the screen in the seat? Yeah? Are you
Are you allowing just complete for golf? Yeah, it's just
like they get to gorge on. Yeah. One time I
(25:16):
think flights is like, yeah, yeah, the one time.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
That reminds me.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
I did an experiment this weekend, just gone and I
did no TV whole weekend, just to see what would happen.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
You know what happened. They created a fort.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
They read in their fort, then they played adventure games
around the house. There was a moment where they really
kept asking for it on like Sunday evening, and we
did end up giving them a little bit of Spidery
simply because.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
We turned every screen in the house on. Lily.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Lily was like, I want to go to sleep at
five pm.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
She's already figured out that she goes to sleep quicker
this weekend. Make the painstop, gonest you, it's shut up.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
But I heard the new I got scared the new
Toy Story movie.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Have you guys seen it?
Speaker 4 (26:09):
Na? Okay, So it's about an iPad and it's all
about how when technology comes into your house, and apparently
it's very provocative in making parents.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
I thought it was about Andy's mum's toys.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
So I felt guilty.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
So I was like, you know what, I'm just going
to try.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
We often give the kids a lot of TV on
the weekends just so we can have a relief, and
I just thought I'm going to just try and see
if they can handle it without and they did really well.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
May I say something? I think because we're going to
give the kids screen time on the weekend, right, and
we have other kids that come over who gets screen
time every evening? My kids that ain't come over wish
they did. I'd love to see them far it's very
far too busy with the possums.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
Louis would love to come over. He loves people's house.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
We'll take him. Okay. So my kids, because I only
get it on the weekend, when they do get the
screen time, it's like crack for them. They are locked in.
And we've had other kids come over who get screen
time on. You a little bit of screen time almost
every day, and it's the screens on. They're like, ah, whatever.
And it's like when you were growing up, there were
kids who have soft drink in the fridge and I'd
be like, I don't want to raise a larm bells.
(27:16):
If you've got got a bottle of coke in the fridge,
you got to drink that ship and the like.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
There were signs there, signs that problem, but we drink
drink that shit.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
I was like, because we never got it, so when
you did get it, you wanted to save every second.
So I kind of think it's better to have screen
time little bits throughout the world.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
As long as it's controlled. Like if my kids, like
I don't know, if they've had a really active day
and it's like, look, we really need to get ship
done around.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
The house, and I don't want a child annoying me. Bam.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
And then so like, for example, last night, obviously I
was still sick yourselfternoon, Oscar had jiu jitsu, Macy had
I've had for a bit while scoo when off to
jiu jitsu.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
I managed to get the.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
House a bit clean up because I felt like I've
been useless for four days. And then when they got
home and dinner was ready, it was like, iPads down.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
We all sat at the.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
Table, But like, and do they put it down willingly? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (28:13):
Because they know if they don't, they're not getting it
every time. Every time to Lola especially love her, she's
a great child. But every time I'm like five minutes,
Louis's going to go off, and she's like got it, yep, fine,
three minutes, yep, absolutely no problem. All right, one minute
she goes, that's cool, I'm ready for it. Okay, time
to turn it off. Fuck yeah, my favorite thing. Don't
(28:35):
take it away from that's what you're doing wrong. Just
rip the band aid off because you're going to get
there anyway. Sometimes I'm I've got that transition. I'm going
to manage your expectations. And sometimes I'm like, it's like
crying a baby away from its mother. Do you think
because she thinks I'm not going to get it back
again for a whole week or something. Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know. So it's like, what the great debate
(28:57):
how much is green time should be allowed for kids?
I think yeah, I think we can.
Speaker 2 (29:03):
It's definitely not going to be a blanket everyone. I
know my kids love it. But at the same time,
if I said to Oscar, hey, either you consider your
iPad or we can go and shoot hoops in the thing,
he'd be like.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Let's go shoot hoops, you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Like it might Macie might take a bit more persuading
because she's like but I'm like, hey, there's chalk down there.
She'd like.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
My kids. I could be like, there is a real
life unicorn in the garden right now that you can ride,
or we can keep watching the TV. They'd be like TV. Yeah, okay,
that's interesting.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
I reckon my kids.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
Nah.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
So maybe Ash is the best parent here. Say your words,
not mine, Guys, what you should do.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
You should really nurture your kids. Don't even put the
parental control on the YouTube.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
Just let them go for it. So then when you
want to discussions around the gyms, hey you can. I
do want to hear about mister Beast and all the
poor people he tortured.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
I will say, though, with Poppy, do not put her
in front of the screen because there was.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
A study done.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Is this breaking news? Let's go any breaking news for us?
Speaker 3 (30:13):
I do have breaking news.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
But this came across my news desk from Maggie Dan,
who we all know is like gurues, how dare.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
You think, guys? I just I do this for fun,
you know, Maggie Dan. No, I mean that I do
this parenting thing for fun.
Speaker 4 (30:32):
I don't know, but she said screen time for any
like two in under is actually dangerous for their brain development.
They did a study and they actually found that the
white matter that goes around the brain cells doesn't form,
which is similar to cerebral palsy. So the white matter
around the brain isn't forming by watching screens.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
If you're okay, Vick, what do you go for his
breaking news?
Speaker 2 (30:56):
All right?
Speaker 4 (30:57):
In Breaking News today, finance experts say when it comes
to pocket money, parents are doing it wrong. A twenty
twenty six parenting survey has found one third of ossie
parents are handing out pocket money to kids without them
doing any chores to earn it. Financial experts say pocket
money is the easiest way to give our kids basic
financial literacy, and Warren's parents who don't attach chores to
(31:20):
the payout, they could be setting their kids up for failure.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Where are you at with money? We had the rewards chart,
so you get stars and then like so when you
do things like you put your bag away, put your
lunch box in the outy bag, put it in the kitchen,
it get stars. And then they kind of just fucking
gave up on it and we and we stopped worked
great for two weeks. So we haven't really done haven't
(31:45):
done pocket money. We're in the cusp of doing pocket money. Yeah.
I let the kids clean the wheels of the car
the other day for a dollar a wheel. That's great.
And there's two cars it's four dollars each. It's fair.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Yeah, that's decent.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
It's like stash of money that she made. If you
recall we were a nooser at the start of the year.
She went busking and made like two d and so whatever.
I'm like, we can't afford that. She's like, I got it.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Yet, A twenty dollar note for his birthday from someone
and he's just walking around the house.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Anything you want, treat yourself. So do you know this
to get me? Sweet? Fuck? All that just expected me?
Like can change? I said to it. They kept turning
the heater on and I'm like, that's going to cost you.
He's like that much.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
Well, I worked on the canteen at school recently and
I got some goss from the canteen.
Speaker 5 (32:35):
Ooh, let me this is this is good match, just like.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
What we got? What do we got?
Speaker 2 (32:44):
So?
Speaker 4 (32:44):
They said, so our kindergarten year, which is the biggest
year they've had before. There's like one hundred and thirty
five kids, and they said, we've never seen a kindergarten
year with so much money to spend at the canteen,
Like little five year olds coming up with like five
dollar notes which can buy them like everything.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
That's why there's a cost of living crissis all these
kids are walking around rich as fuck.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
When they talk about inflation and right, how do we
stem that? Stop giving the kindergarten get such fucking money
every morning?
Speaker 2 (33:10):
Do you know what's really setting them up to fail.
How cheap everything is at the canteen and then you
go to the real world and it's like they're like,
I'll just get an icy pole. It's fifty cents, go
and get one from seven to eleven. It's like a
four dollar twenty icy pole.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
It's like going on a holiday in Bali, like Monaco.
You're like, fuck, can't.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
Yeah, I thought that was really interesting.
Speaker 3 (33:28):
And then when.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Are the kids like though, when they do, they just
come up, slap a fiber on the bench and they're like,
give me your best stays around for me and my friends.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
I don't know, but I've never seen Louis so money
obsessed since he started school, like so aware of money
and the canteen and always wanting to buy something every
single day and get that dopamine hit.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
And the kids were really respectful in the line.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
But there was one little kid who came up with
five cents and he's like, what can I get for this?
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Nothing? Poory, you get out of here.
Speaker 3 (33:56):
And I was like, sorry, sing like you can't like nothing.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
Away because we just called him Paul because I asked,
and they're like, oh, I'm so him A life lesson.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
I haven't hit it looks like sorry, Timmy starts hing here,
you can afford not a thing, go eat some dirt.
What day is going to start to came.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
Back and he's like, what about this five cents?
Speaker 3 (34:22):
And I was like, I have a breadstick.
Speaker 1 (34:24):
That never happened, trying to make up for it, and
then I gave him a roast chicken.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
Well, my my friend Mike and son of their kid, Lenny,
He's figured it out right, So he hides his lunch
box in the school somewhere and then tells the teacher
that he's forgotten his lunch.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
They had a tab. The school called him up and.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
We're like, hey, you owe the canteen, like thirty five
thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
What the fuck? Yeah, just like what the fuck? And
it turns out that he was like he won't eat
anything in his lunch box.
Speaker 3 (34:56):
Oh that's Louis this week.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Maybe he's sensory. He doesn't like what's in the lunch
box for cardos.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
And he's like, Mike's like, have you even looked in there?
I put a chocolate uffin in there, bro, have you
even looked?
Speaker 1 (35:05):
And he's like, after I'm hitting it, so it doesn't matter.
It was funny when I was growing up one of
five kids. For anyone, who what is that you laughing
at that? That's hilarious. What's what's wrong?
Speaker 4 (35:16):
You know, you're just laying the ground.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Because there's new people here, and they may be like,
who is this Matt Fellow and what's his story from?
Maybe where's coming on?
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Frankie J.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Where's Frankie rank was a little little over there, Frankie J. Yeah,
so five kids, and we used to get money from
I can't remember how much, like a little bit of
pocket money actually, if there was. We used to have
the book Field Show, which is kind of like the
Easter Show, but in our little suburb it was a
little country kill and we get twenty bucks for a
show bag.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Jesus, is it a lot? Ten bucks?
Speaker 1 (35:53):
I'm making things up. Never happened then, and it was
you could buy a house. That's what I did, And
Mum said that we were all so different, Like my
older brother within three seconds and he'd like he'd spent it,
and my sister was a bit more cautious. I would
wait till the very end, like on the Sunday afternoon.
I then decide what to spend my money on. I
(36:15):
just I liked holding them to money to the point
where I started stealing from I found out where the
money dr was actually and then I got done. I
think I told the story I got done because I
went up to the canteen and I was like, put
all my money on the table, and they were like
pushing the panic button that sent to the principal because
they were like, there was so much there was so
(36:37):
much money that they were like, he's a thieving little bit.
What it was this in primary school? You won? You won?
There you go. You may have seen and I know
I've just talked about Bali. Okay, And I was on
the Gold Coast for work. I was working, guys. It
was hard work, look like real hard. Oh, how dare you?
(36:58):
This is a real job. Okay. Being an influencer is
not easy. Oh, don't call yourself that and that content creator.
There you go, that's better, Thank you, podcaster. I'm a podcast.
It's the worse, is it? Yeah? White podcast? Where two
white heterosexual men of the podcast fuck it sucks some
dick if someone put it in front of me, guilty
(37:20):
right back? Well, no, the cast okay, Okay. So I
was born in Brisbane actually born in sorry mix, like
for god fucking sake and.
Speaker 6 (37:34):
Back in nineteen eighty seven, I was born and.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
I was raised in Brisbane. My holidays was spent on
the Gold Coast and I have now, for the very
first time, after thirty eight years of being on this earth,
finally stayed at Blinga Beach. I know which is.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
People are like, it's a big deal, and like where
is that? You literally walk out of your terminal onto
Blinga Beach.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
I got a high card and I was like put
in the map. It was like three minutes literally literally
Laura walked and got there before I did. You walk
across the Goldcos Highway and you're there and it's bloody great.
Have you been a Blinka Beach, Vick.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
I've been right near there.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
My brother and sister in law live in Tullabudra oh
and it is a really beautiful part of the world.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
It is just the beach there is here. It's quieter
as well, it's lovely running along the beach. There the houses,
so this is I was like, we should we should
all pack up and move. It used to be so
cheap to buy there, so I used to surf at
June Street at Berlinga.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
That was like where we all used to meet there,
which was a nothing spot, but we'd all surf there
together and to be no issues. But all along there,
all my mates used to rent along there was so cheap, dude,
And there's like did you go past the twenty five
hour convenience store?
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Is that still there?
Speaker 2 (38:51):
So on along that drive there in Berlinga. This is
one stretch of road that's called Golden Forest Drive, which
is the same runs parallel with the Highway. I don't
know why this road is there, if I'm really honest,
it's a bit like what the fuck was there four
different roads on this one road. But there used to
be a convenience store there that was opened. The gimmick
was were open twenty.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
Five hours, so they shot that's good year. But it
was a real like one of those places. You was
a touch and go whether you went there in the
middle of the night. I don't want to ruin the store.
I don't think they're there anymore. I think I think
that's why it was so cheap to rent there. Yeah, yeah,
they moved on, Okay, good moved on. It's now like
organic bakery. There was also a place there called JFC.
(39:31):
Is that still there? I think they're gone as well.
Bro Ah.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
So this guy no long ago were here there there,
I lived there.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
For like ten years is like fifteen years ago? Yeah,
but things don't change.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
There was a KFC on the other side, so this
guy decided to open a chicken shop on the other
side called JFC. There was also a Hungry Jacks there
and the place was called Jacks Fried Chicken, so it'd
be like hungry come to Jacks JFC. So he got anyway,
went to court for it was in the car. I
was on a carrent fair anyway.
Speaker 1 (40:01):
The Gold Coast, full of characters, full of characters. No,
I love it. Winter Movie World And do you know
what I think is a great thing to do with
your kids a near death experience. Oh yeah, yeah, it
really brings I reckon it bring everyone together. It brings
you closer together. I've been a couple of years ago
and the Wicked roller coaster Marley was like, it's very
(40:23):
close to going on it, but then saw it was
like fuck that not for me?
Speaker 2 (40:27):
Is that the one where it's like you can sit
in the cart to make sure that you fit before
you get on it and like that usually scares the
shit out of them.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
Know, they just pull out the like this little metal
stick stick and they're like and they're pretty chill. There's
a couple of kids definitely, they're like, yeah, I needs
to come on. Poppy is up and I was like,
hey you, Poppy, have fun. But Marley was like, I'm
going to do it this time. And the roller coaster
Wicked one comes up and then it like spits out
(40:56):
and you're going sideways. I was like pretty scared.
Speaker 3 (40:59):
Yea, it's scary, and was.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
Like, Daddy, can you hold my hand just before you
get to that big drop. She was like hold my hand, Daddy,
And I was like yeah, gotcha. That's so sweet. And
then afterwards she was like don't touch me. She was
like we made it. We did it, daddy. If anyone
is struggling to have that little form of connection with
(41:24):
their children, just like go bungee jumping on something dangerous.
There was the Scooby Doo ride, which is like a
haunted house tight rollercoaster, and Lola last minute was like, yeah,
not for me, and she's not like she was. She's
like a little like train ride that just like went
in a little loop she was like, She's like, that's
all I want. And I was like, oh, so Lola
(41:46):
didn't go on the Scooby Doo one, Marley went on there,
so I was waiting for her boring.
Speaker 4 (41:51):
No. No, I'm really interested in the story because I've
never been to movie Wells.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
What I've never been to movie Wells.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
Now we have to a company trip to Movie World.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
That well done. She's played this very well.
Speaker 2 (42:07):
She's now every time we men, she's like, I've never
been to Europe.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
I've never driven a moving world.
Speaker 4 (42:20):
No, he lives on the Gold Coaster. He's only just
moved there the last couple of years. But I yeah,
we never ever went to Movie World. I went to
Sea World when I was at the Today Show. That's
how I went there. Never been to Wet and Wild World.
Speaker 2 (42:36):
And also, don't go to Wet and Wild it stinks. Okay,
I can't stand okay, one thing about me.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
Okay, chlorine.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
I do not like water parks because everyone's like, yeah,
but they just smell like chlorine. That's the problem. What
are they hiding?
Speaker 3 (42:52):
I love water parks? Oh so fun.
Speaker 1 (42:56):
You guys would never we could never be together, Thank god, Simmy,
let's go to the water parks of the world.
Speaker 4 (43:06):
Although I'm with Dan who hates the beach and I
love the beaches.
Speaker 1 (43:10):
I don't like the beach either.
Speaker 4 (43:11):
He doesn't like the saltwater, he doesn't like the sand,
he doesn't like sitting in the sun.
Speaker 1 (43:15):
I like surfing. That's it. I wash me off immediately.
I love the beach.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
I know Mike, Mike, when I surf with him, he
never showers after sweet because he's like, it's.
Speaker 1 (43:25):
Like the way that drives my skin out, and like, oh,
you freak, that's weird. I got to get it off me.
Speaker 3 (43:33):
What was the bird Park like, Oh yeah, crumvin.
Speaker 1 (43:36):
I was like four o'clock. I get to work at
four o'clock for the wildlife park for the LORI keep feeding.
And I was like, look, we've been here for a
good amount of time. We've seen all the animals. Went
to the bird show, blady wedge tail eagle, fuck me,
they're big. Did you go to the honey factory across
the road. I didn't. I did they have surf Weld
there as well? Yeah? I used to work at surf Well,
of course you did. What is Surf World. It's a
(43:58):
Historical Museum of Surfing Culture. How didn't you do that? Okay?
Speaker 2 (44:02):
I hosted a couple of things, the exhibit was set up,
but it was more like I would just make just
keep it on.
Speaker 1 (44:09):
Really, we're learning so much about each other this episode.
This has been very add that to the job list
and all over the shop. By three thirty, I was like,
the kids are getting pretty tired. We've got an early dinner,
so we might want to go back to the hotel
and just like relax until we have dinner time. And
Laura's like, and I'd never done this before. She was like,
at four o'clock, the Loura keep feeding and I was like,
(44:31):
oh yeah. I was like yeah, but you know, feeding
a bird, what's the big deal? And she was like
you got to do it. And I was like, oh,
I'll do it to keep you happy.
Speaker 5 (44:40):
And It's like, no, I will not do it. I
will not be a wild animal. And then we got
there three point fifty. Everyone's coming and everyone's everyone's come from.
Speaker 1 (44:50):
The whole park to this specific area near the entrance
where the Lori keep feeding happens. There's even like a
big bronze statue of like the guy who founded, sir
Laura keep Lori kee Yeah. So Corumbin Lori Keet was
his name, and he's there, So I'm like, what is
this fucking feeding business? And then they give you pans
that you almost like you would pan for gold with
these like metal pans, and they give you this it
(45:13):
looks like warm milk that they pour in your pants.
So everyone's standing on the pants, and then it's there's
a moment where I was like, what's going to happen?
Is something going to happen? These birds come from There's
not a single bird here. This is fucking boring, waste
of time. Then all of a sudden, he's like thank you.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
The lower kids thick and fast.
Speaker 1 (45:36):
And I was like it was like they can't. They
swarm all over you. And I was like this is amazing,
and I had loke a lo kid on my heart.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
I was like, law, take a batter, talk about a
complete change.
Speaker 1 (45:54):
This is so boring. Oh my god. Birds. I was like,
the what ex this is pretty cool. I one with
the lower kids and.
Speaker 2 (46:03):
Then it was over and I was like, I feel
like birds get like underestimated when it comes to sanctuary parks.
Speaker 1 (46:11):
Have you been to the bird show at Taronga fucking
top shelves.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
I don't like birds flapping on me.
Speaker 1 (46:16):
They're not flapping on you. During the bird show they
had a little like amphitheater. They had one person this
side on like the right edge. On the left edge
they had another person and they were like, oh yeah,
this is maybe who's stealing each other's gear. I don't know.
(46:40):
And the hour was like fucking like like over my
I was touching that. It was wild, vic I tell
you right now. The Bird show at Zoos I was like,
its like seriously, mate, so good. And then they played
Christine Arnaud at the end of it.
Speaker 2 (46:58):
Man and I'm like with the bird like this is
my island.
Speaker 1 (47:07):
I love to say it twice, but wedge tailed eagles?
Am I right? You can't see that. It's like a
fucking dinosaur, a pterodactyls. It's like I was like, holy.
Speaker 4 (47:26):
What we the birds were dinosaurs?
Speaker 3 (47:29):
Like that's what I was like.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
Hold on the poppy. Oh that reminds me when I lead,
I remember I lead. That's my story. There's a big
park right at the back of where I used to live. Anyway,
this guy was walking his dog and a fucking bird
came down to the dog, took the dog. Oh, I
(47:55):
know it was ten years ago. I remember.
Speaker 3 (47:58):
Sorry, yeah, dogs can whim.
Speaker 6 (48:00):
Yeah, I think the dog I don't know, but I
was like, I remember it used to get quite busy
out there with it wasn't a dog park, but unspoken
rule that if you've got a little little dog, fine,
big mistake because this little.
Speaker 3 (48:12):
Puppy there are a lot of birds.
Speaker 1 (48:14):
Yeah, grab hold of it in its talons. Wow, took off?
Speaker 3 (48:19):
What did the owner do?
Speaker 1 (48:21):
Chased it? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (48:23):
What a weird experience.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
I was in my back and you overlook the park
and I was like, dog.
Speaker 4 (48:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (48:33):
I was like, is that bird gonna? Looked like a rat?
But it was a little fluffy dog, so poppy. This
dog could be no more. I haven't forbid. I'm a
big bird guy. Now, yeah, me too. They are underrated.
My nan has a bird in a cage. Still which
one which Nan? Which bird? Which? But I don't know.
(48:54):
It's like a it looks about one hundred years old.
Because it is, that bird is older than me. I
swear it.
Speaker 4 (49:00):
Birds do live a long time. So one of Louis's
friends bought some birds because they just wanted like a
quick pet rather than like one they had to commit to.
Then they looked up how long the bird lives for?
Speaker 3 (49:11):
Oh sixty years?
Speaker 1 (49:12):
Yeah, sixty long time. When you get over the bird,
just like lift up the gate. Nah, because my nan
doesn't hit him over the head with the brick.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
Okay, well it had bird cancer apparently, but anyway, so
she's got this bird now, ironically.
Speaker 1 (49:30):
The way to bring the mood down amazing, not according
to my nanna.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
Well, I had a budget when I was twelve and
I moved to the Gold Coast and my parents look
take and.
Speaker 1 (49:39):
She was like, oh look after it. Yeah, she had
heaps of birds. And then I was like what long?
And not for long?
Speaker 2 (49:45):
But she still has one bird, pretty boy, ironically the
ugliest bird ever saying.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
And she's there with being like one one move. I
will just say. Trip was great. Flying back home a
bit tricky because Poppy is now apparently going on ten
months Jesus with that guy. She's very squirmy, very squamy.
Didn't want to nap time on the plane. She was like,
(50:10):
too much, she wants to get going. And I was like,
you know what, It was a bit of a show
bag move from me, but I was like, I'll take
the baby. And I was in the aisles being like.
Speaker 2 (50:18):
Such a good dad, and I'm looking making eye contact,
being like she's cute than't she?
Speaker 1 (50:27):
She's not even mine? Whose baby is this?
Speaker 3 (50:31):
I got to say that I love seeing dads do that.
Speaker 1 (50:34):
It's such a good move. I know.
Speaker 2 (50:36):
It's like if you're in a public place and you're like,
I'm bored. I just I was gonna my friend's got
a baby. Picked up baby up? Oh yeah, like baby
was asleep.
Speaker 1 (50:45):
If you're holding an infant in public, other moms as
a dad look at you like you've cured cancer. They're
like you're amazing, and I'm like, it's just you know,
it's what I do.
Speaker 2 (50:54):
That's what if you're going to commit crimes, be holding
a baby, hold and they're like, it's fine.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
All right, everybody down. Shut everybody else down. Should call
the police. Not you, not Youki's money, sir. But I
did have to go and fill up her water bottle.
She wanted to have some food, vic okay, So I
had to go fill up her water bottle, her baby bottle.
If you will, okay, food or water, food formula, that's
(51:21):
what I'm forgive me, so I had to give her
a bottle. I give him formula. So I went down
to the little well I call it cabin. What do
they call it? The kitchen hat? What do I call it? Yeah?
What do they call that? Her kitchen? And I said,
excuse you to the clubhouse. Can I get some hot
water in the bottle? And the guy said how much
do you want? And I was like, oh, because I've
(51:43):
got a you know, a bottle of cold water. I'm
trying to figure out the race I'm holding popping. I'm
like oh, And the guy was also kind of thinking
and a female host. He was like, you got no idea,
do you? And I said that's actually really offensive, and
I was like but in a sarcastic way. I was like,
how dare you? And I was like, give me thirty
(52:04):
mil of hot water please straight away. Come back to
put in the cold water. And I'm like, fuck, this
is it's boiling. It's completely cold, so that I have
to go back, and I was around, She's like you
need to help there, and I was like a little bit,
come on back twice trying to get the fuck right temperature.
(52:25):
You're half half wish you to know that then and
I was like, how dare you questioned me as a
father holding my own child? I know exactly what I'm doing?
Or four times fucking hell, let's get out of here.
