Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you genuinely wrestled with being thankful? Maybe even at this time of year?
Perhaps after being laid off at work like many people are experiencing today due to AI?
Or maybe it’s just the tyranny of inflation and falling behind on rising expenses?
Or possibly you're a federal employee impacted by the recent government shutdown?
Or it could be something much worse like a life-threatening cancer diagnosis?
I’m happy to welcome back the Chaplain of the Capitol Commission of Louisiana, Dr Michael Sprague who also wrote a book titled “Disaster: Betting the Farm on God in Life’s Storms.” In it he relates his personal experience in living through Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005. Earlier this year, he experienced another challenging storm, an aggressive form of prostate cancer diagnosis.
In this episode Dr Sprague walks us through his diagnosis, treatment, and initial recovery process and how he found ways to be grateful for the many fresh blessings he encountered along his journey. He also gives us a peek into House Speaker Mike Johnson's background in the state of Louisiana and why we should be thankful to have such a man of integrity leading our nation in the House of Representatives.

Are You A Charlotte?
In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
