Tonight’s Scripture: Psalm 31:14 (NLT)

“But I am trusting you, O LORD, saying, ‘You are my God’!”

πŸ’ Something to Ponder

Watching your children grow up and step into new seasons of life—college, marriage, parenthood—can be as challenging for you as it is exciting for them. In tonight’s heartfelt devotional, Tracie Miles reminds us that the letting go moments aren’t just transitions for our kids—they’re defining moments for us as parents.

As moms (and dads), our hearts wrestle with pride, joy, anxiety, and even grief as our children take steps into the unknown. But as Psalm 31:14 reminds us, there is peace in choosing to trust that God loves and guides them even more than we ever could.

With personal wisdom, practical encouragement, and biblical truth, Tracie offers several "dos and don’ts" to help parents process the change with grace, release fear, and renew their trust in God’s plan for their children. You’re not failing when you let go—you’re fulfilling your role as a faithful parent. And God will never let them (or you) walk alone.

πŸ™ Your Nightly Prayer

Lord,
Help me have peace about sending my child off into this new season of life. I know I can’t protect them and keep them safe all the time, so I ask for You to protect them in every way and commit to trusting You to do so.
Help me remember You are in control and always by their side, even when they fall or fail. Nudge my spirit when I’m allowing worry to fester, so that I can refocus on who You are, and let your peace fill my soul.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

πŸŒ™ Three Things to Meditate Upon

  1. You’re not letting go—you’re launching.
Letting your child go isn’t the end—it’s the goal. You’ve been preparing them for this. Trust that God is taking them further in His plan.
“Lord, help me trust that releasing my child is not the end of my role, but the fulfillment of it.”

  2. God goes where you cannot.
Even when you’re not physically present, God is. From classrooms to new homes, His presence surrounds your child.
“Wherever they go, Lord, I trust You go before them, behind them, and beside them.”

  3. The story is still being written.
Your role is evolving, not ending. Continue to show up in new, pray
