Mike grew up in a home without drinking, convinced he was different. Smarter. Immune.
But alcohol gave him something he had been searching for his entire life. Connection. Relief. A way to escape the anger and isolation he carried inside.
Over time, that solution became his prison.
Despite having a loving wife and a young daughter, Mike found himself sinking deeper into depression, convinced his life had no meaning and that the people he loved would be better off without him.
That belief led him to a frozen embankment near his home.
Standing over the ice, ready to jump, he made one final decision. One last phone call.
If the man on the other end didn’t answer, it was over.
But he did answer.
