Sometimes, as wives, we place such high value on keeping our marriage intact that we start to depend on it for things only God can provide — our security, our joy, or even our identity.

In this episode of The Worthy Wife Podcast, I’m sharing three ways I’ve seen women — myself included — unintentionally turn marriage into an idol. Together, we’ll explore how to recognize when our hearts have shifted away from God, by making our marriage and keeping our husbands happy the focus,  and how to place our hope and confidence back in Him, right where it belongs.

Here’s what I’ll walk you through:

• Recognizing fear-based attachment — those moments when I catch myself believing my marriage is fragile or that I couldn’t survive without it.

• Reclaiming my joy and fulfillment in God — instead of expecting my husband or my marriage to make me happy.

• Rebuilding my personal trust in the Lord — learning to rely on Him directly, rather than handing that responsibility over to my husband.

I’m reminded through Psalm 18:2 that “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer.” When I anchor my heart in Him, I find that I can love freely, trust deeply, and live confidently — even in an imperfect marriage.
