Unapologetic with Mike Eppel

Mike discusses how making homosexuality into a protected class is unjust because it offers rights to homosexuals that are not available to the normal population. Additionally, he reiterates the necessity for Christians to be involved in politics if they are to secure their ability to preach the gospel and prevent immoral policies. 

Mike invites his wife, Katie, on the podcast to discuss whether some political issues are more important for Christians to address than others. If some are more important, what are they? What makes them more significant than other political considerations? 

Mike discusses the biblical principles that can help guide Christians as to when it is permissible, or even morally good, for them to disobey the government. 

Mike delivers a sermon on the subjects of general revelation and natural theology, explaining that God, in fact, reveals himself to all beings everywhere. Those who deny God's existence or His moral law do not do so for a lack of knowledge about God, but out of an unwillingness to accept the knowledge that is plainly revealed to them.

Mike enters into a new phase of his discussion on the case for biblical sexuality, viewing the subject of same sex marriage from the perspective of a post-Obergefell landscape, where federally endorsed same sex marriage is a reality rather than a mere possibility. In this podcast, Mike addresses how such a reality came to be.

Mike discusses the challenge directed at Christians that they cannot legislate in favor of biblical morality because of the supposed separation of church and state. 

Mike responds to several challenges that LGBT activists make against opponents of same sex marriage, including:

1) Opposition to same sex marriage is hate speech 2) Opponents to same sex marriage are intolerant 3) Opponents to same sex marriage violate Jesus' command not to judge in Matthew 7:1

Mike discusses several challenges raised by LGBT activists, including:

1) Homosexual parenting is better than the foster system  2) Homosexual couples in a committed relationship should be able to marry 3) Some heterosexual couples cannot produce children, just like homosexuals

Mike discusses several other arguments put forth by LGBT activists in support of same sex marriage. These include: 1) "homosexuals cannot change" 2) "same sex marriage is about love" 3) "animals commit homosexual behavior" 4) "opposing same sex marriage is the same as opposing interracial marriage" 5) "opponents of same sex marriage are bigots"

Mike examines three popular slogans used to advocate for same sex marriage and discusses the inherent flaws of each statement. The slogans considered are: “homosexuals want the same rights as heterosexuals”, “homosexuality is just like race”, and “homosexuals were born that way”.   

Mike discusses how the legal endorsement of homosexual behavior through same sex marriage harms those that struggle with same sex attraction and concludes the six point cast for biblical sexuality.

Mike takes a break from his series on "The Case for Biblical Sexuality" to present a sermon that he gave on the subject of God's goodness. God is not only good, but he is the very standard of goodness that enables humans to know that certain actions are genuinely right and wrong. 

Mike discusses how the law teaches the citizens of society that certain behaviors are good and others are bad. If the law begins to teach people that harmful behaviors, like abortion and same sex behavior, are good, then one can reasonably expect society to perceive them as beneficial.
