Speaker 1 (00:09):
Hey, faithful, welcome back to You've Got Me Al, presented
by Delta Dental. I'm your forty nine Ers team reporter
Brionna Janelle and this is part two of my conversation
with Alfred Collins and CJ. West. We play a few
fun games, answer questions directly from the faithful. So here's
part two right now. Well, are you guys ready to
play a few fun games? Let's do it? Okay, First
one is going to be two truths in a sack,

(00:31):
very similar to two truths and a lie, but we're
gonna spin it football version a little bit, just to
break the ice. Now, what you guys are gonna do
is give me two true facts about your career so far,
and then one made up football achievement or story, something
that could chip y'all up, and you guys are gonna
try to catch it. You're ready? Do you want to start?
Do you want to start?

Speaker 2 (00:50):
I'll start, all right? So truths afac I have a one.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
I got a one hand interception, I scored a touchdown,
and I uh was for a second, I uh got
a strip sack fumble.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Which do you think the sack is or the non truth?

Speaker 4 (01:16):
The non truth. I one a hand. An interception is crazy,
but I feel like you you a freaking nature, so
you probably didn't do that. I'll say, score a touchdown
was a lie.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Okay, nice interception, bro tell me about that. Yeah, I
need the story.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Year was up the field and I stopped and I
want like that.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
You're like, I just did it.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Oh, I got to see that question. You gotta show
me that that crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
That's so cool. And then I want to hear the
story of the strip, sack fumble.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Oh it was against it against I believe my what
years is back in the day, and then I got
a strip and.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
You're like, I and then I did it? Okay, Well
the touchdown is still on the list, and then you'll
have a story for that also very soon. Okayj too.
Truths and a sack.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
All right. I played safety, I scored a touchdown, and
I called plays. At one point in my.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Career, you call place, it's it's a lie. I called plays.
It's a lie.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
How were you able to catch that immediately?

Speaker 4 (02:32):
I feel like everybody puts the line in.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
The last Okay, So you guys are smart. Okay, tell
me about your time at safety.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Oh man, it was awesome. I felt real free. This
is like my first year playing football, so I had
no idea what was I was just out there running around.
I was playing free man, just going out there hidden.
I caught a couple of picks that year two.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Wow. Yeah, Is that also how you got the touchdown?

Speaker 4 (02:55):
No, that's not I gotta, I gotta. I got a
touchdown in college, actually high school, in college. Yeah, I
got to touch on from broke fun.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Okay, were you excited?

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Was the I was so happy. I never thought i'd
ever get a touchdown. I won't ever touch the ball
somehow swowing my way, and I'm like, all right, let's
got to make the most of it.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Fun. Okay, that was a good game. Good game, y'all.
All right, now we're going to play a game of
who's most likely to? So I'm going to read a
statement and then you guys are going to point or
say the name on who's most likely to between c
J and Afred. You guys ready, yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Sweet?

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Okay, So first one most likely to win in a
one on one against a bear?

Speaker 4 (03:34):
Ac the bear going back down?

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Help the bear?

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Ye?

Speaker 4 (03:40):
The definitely.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
J Okay, Okay, who's most likely to have the best snacks?
Proudj Yeah, what's in the lineup?

Speaker 4 (03:53):
Man? Gummy bears? Demmy bears is always fine. I can't
never go wrong with that.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Is that you guys are snacking on in the d
line room during meeting?

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Yes, we got I got some in there? Anything?

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Okay? Fun? Okay? Who's most likely to end up coaching
one day? It was your lie that you called plays,
but who's really would be able to do it?

Speaker 4 (04:17):
Yeah? Tell me why I feel like be a great coach.
A lot of my teammates, you know, in college, always said,
like when I were I sat out if I ever
had to miss a practice or miss a gamer. They
was like, Bro, you make a good coach because it's
like you just pay attention to little details, and you like,
you see a lot of stuff that coaches see, Like
one day, you make a really good coach. I'm I
appreciate that. So maybe one day at the end of

(04:38):
my football playing career can be a coach.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
You'd like that?

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Coaching, coaching and broadcasting?

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Perfect?

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Fun? I love it?

Speaker 4 (04:47):
Perfect?

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Most likely to prank the locker room you also have
you already? Maybe maybe? Okay? Fun? Well, CJ, You've talked
about your two touchdowns, but right here it says most
likely to score a defensive touchdown maybe in the NFL.

(05:09):
Alfred pointing at each other, putting outfred fun. Yeah, okay, well,
I can't wait to see it. I feel like we're
manifesting it right now. Who is most likely to go
viral on TikTok? Me? Do you have a TikTok?

Speaker 4 (05:25):
I don't. I don't really use TikTok, but I feel
I got a personality that if I did make a
TikTok account and really used it, it would do well.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Then tell me about your content in this world where
you do have an account. Are you dancing? Are you
doing like commentary? Tell me what you're doing.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
I feel like I would be doing like daily vlogs
daily just going throughout my day, just recording random stuff
or just stuff that I might see, or things like that,
or even like playing a video game with my friends.
Like twitch streaming. I feel like that it'll make a
lot of good content.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Do you watch streamers or content right now?

Speaker 5 (05:55):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Yeah, sometimes I'll watch a couple of streamers, Zis and
Blue There are pretty funny. They do a lot of
like music, video reacts and reacting too funny, funny stuff.
So I do watch a little bit.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Of though, Alfred, what are you watching your free time?

Speaker 3 (06:08):
I watched people play video games. I'll watch you know whatever,
let's good on Netflix Sports.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
I watched a ton of movies and TV show for sure.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Yeah, those are the go to. What have been some
of the favorite movies you haven't watched? Because we've been
doing a lot of road chips recently, so when we're
on the plane, are movies usually the.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Go to that in film? For sure? Yeah? That kills
a lot of time.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yeah, definitely, So like on a six hour flight, say
from New York. What's on the screen for when you
guys are watching a movie?

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Definitely watching a movie. My favorite movie all time is
The Dark Knight.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
The Dark Knight.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
It's the best movie. He's legend did such a good
job as Joker.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Yeah, yah, yeah, movie, I love it, Alfred.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
I have to say Jurassic Part Yeah, put it on,
put it on, the little Back of the Sea.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Yeah, Back of the Sea.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Okay, it kind of ties into what we're just talking about.
But final one most likely to win a real TV show? Okay,
if you were to choose any TV show to go on,
which would it be? No no.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
Show? Family Feud?

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Nice?

Speaker 4 (07:17):
I feel like I would do pretty well.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Family Wait wait, okay, I like this. So say we're
doing family feud in the locker room. We got team
D line versus who would you guys want to go
up against? Who's good competition?

Speaker 4 (07:29):
We go to anybody, doesn't anybody?

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Okay, we'll go in the trenches O line all day. Yeah, yeah,
I love that. Okay, who's in your lineup? Next to you? Is?
I think there's like four in the lineup four.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
I'm gonna have to go me Bryce Huff. I feel
like you know a lot of information. Bryce Huff, Jordan
Elliott know a lot of information and I want more.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Nice yeah, nice?

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Like I feel like those are some people who just
knows a lot of random stuck.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Okay, Steve Harvey call us and we need to get
on family Fear. I love it. Okay, a couple of
file of games we're.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Just I think you graduated from Kent State. Yeah, okay, twins.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Twins, I love it. Another gamer moving on to is
called Mount Rushmore. So I want you guys to build
a Mount rushmore of your favorite d linemen of all time.
So there's four on that list.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Four I gotta think Christian Please Campbell, Eric Armstay three
then Deskin Lawrence.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
You were able to name them off immediately. Those are
guys you grew up watching, or as soon as you
started getting deeper into football, you started studying their film.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
And I've just seen them, you know, I've seen them
on TV all the time. I'm like, dang, that's cool.
What they're doing is awesome. I'm trying to be like this,
yeah all time. See, I didn't start watching football till
like freshman sophomore is for real, so I feel like
mine are very recent. But I can't leave out the
go Aaron Donald. Aaron Donald is up there, man. I

(09:09):
love watching Quinn Williams because I feel like, you know,
we kind of similar body types. Almost His game is
alsome to watch. Another player I watched in college is
DJ Jones is well, I'll watch a ton of DJ Jones,
so you know that's pretty good to see.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
And one more See Bears album Big Bears fan. Growing
up as a kid in ballin and a King Hicks
was like one of my guys I enjoyed watching. So
I'm gonna have to put them out there on my
Mount Rushmore people. I enjoy watching King Max is a
huge guy. He is like six seven or something like yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'm crazy.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Those are some legendary mountains right there. I'd have to say,
like those eight guys, seeing them out on a Mount
Rushmore is pretty cool. Okay, final game with us today
before we move on to fan questions, Start bench cut.
I'm sure you guys are very familiar with this one.
So let's start with uniform swag. So if you had
to choose between an arms sleeve, a lake sleeve, or
a headband, and what's getting started? Benched and cut?

Speaker 4 (10:03):
Starting the leg sleeve, benching the arms sleeve, cutting the
headband easy?

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Easy, okay, offered same? Okay? I like nice. We got
the swag ready. Speaking of the swag, let's talk Niners
uniforms specifically. We haven't worn the Rivalries yet. They're up there.
You guys saw them, right, They're pretty cool, the all
black with the saloon font. If you had to start
bench cut between the throwbacks, which are the drop shadow jerseys,

(10:32):
the Rivalries or the classic red and whites, start bench cut.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Cutting the rare ones starting now, and then.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
The throwbacks those are getting benched.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Okay, I might have to I might have to start
the throwbacks bench the rivalry cut the regular ones.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Okay, I like it.

Speaker 4 (10:53):
Throwbacks are just so fire. This is a good look
to boat letters.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Yeah, I mean it's hard to pick between them because
they are all classic. The let's talk primetime games. Now
start bench cut Thursday Sunday night and Monday night.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
Start Thursday. I'm off the bench Monday cut Sunday.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Really is he valid? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Tell me the decision behind starting Thursday night.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
Oh man, it's awesome. You get an early game, you
get the weekend off. You just get in and out.
You know, you get to watch all the football games,
see everybody else play, you know, especially after a dub
on a Thursday. You're feeling good.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
That's the best, feeling real good.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Yeah, you ain't got to worry about, you know, the
next opponent, so you know that following Monday Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
But so the quick week makes up for it.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
It does, it really does. Yeah, Thursday night game was awesome.
I really enjoyed that.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah, you agree, I love it. Now we're down to
the final two. You guys are gamers. It sounds like
you're watching gamers at least stream two K Madden CFB,
the college football game.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
Starting two K, Benching, Benching, Madden cutting college football.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Really I'm cutting two K starting college football and Benching.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
You needn't explain why to each other. Why two K
versus Madden gets the start.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Man, I've been playing two K for as long as
I can remember. Like that's been my game. Like I said,
I didn't really know much about football, wasn't a big
football guy. So two K has been like my game
ever since I was young, and like I've been still
to this day. It's still my game. Like I'll be
seeing fans, fans be seeing me on there. Sometimes I'll
be interacting with them and playing with them and stuff.
But yeah, two K is my game. I love that.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
So you can chop it up with the fans on
two K.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Yeah for sure.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Yeah, they recognize you.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
They do so fun Yeah, it's awesome. I love it,
and you know, just getting time to you know, chat
with them in the game chats or whatever. It's funny
because you hear a lot of funny stuff. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
What's your favorite memory from listening and talking to the
faithful online?

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Oh? Man. Actually one of the people that I play
with now I met online and it was just awesome.
We're just chopping up and getting to know each other,
and like, like I said, it's just a fan who was,
you know, a big fan of the sport, and it
gets me an opportunity to kind of just be regular
with them as well and just play the game and
do normal stuff with them.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
So that's awesome, really cool. Okay, so you cut two K.
Why does Madden get the start? Oh?

Speaker 3 (13:25):
It does because I'm kind of better at Madden than
two K. I've had bad experiences. K.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
I just don't have you crashed out over two K.
But it sounds like, you know, you know my emotions
for the game, that's your career. That's where you can
put all the emotions. That's so cool. So did college
football come out when you guys were still in college?

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (13:50):
What was that experience?

Speaker 4 (13:51):
The first one was crazy. Seeing myself in a video
game for the first time was insane. I was like,
Mama made it posted on my story and stuff. My
little character that was pretty dope.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
That is so cool.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
Be able to bring that back during that time. It
was awesome.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Final okay, cool, Final one start, bench cut. We're talking
rap game and we're throwing it back a little bit.
Littl Wayne, jay Z and Drake.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Oh, easy starting Little Wayne? Benching jay Z cutting Drake.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
That was too easy for you.

Speaker 4 (14:20):
Easy. Lil Wayne is the go golding.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
I think I know why you got drafted.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
We're gonna cut jay Z, We're gonna start Drake, and
we're gonna bench.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Okay, at least you didn't cut Little Wayne because we
know Kyle Shanahan is one of the biggest Little Wayne.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
Yeah, I heard that, God, Kyle, so be careful.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
We didn't cut the wine. We didn't cut the wine. Okay,
So why are you starting Drake?

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Just a lot of songs that I like from over
the time.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
So he's got the classic for sure, and.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
I like him.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Are you a big Little Wayne fan?

Speaker 4 (14:57):
Yeah? Little Wayne's fire, Yeah, definitely. I mean he got
a bunch of classics out there, a bunch of classics,
like you can't go wrong with it.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Fine, Well, that's it for our games today. We're gonna
dive in finally to our fan questions. So we posted
on social media sharing that you guys are going to
be on the podcast today and fans rode in with
some of the most burning questions. First off, the very
first question from the faithful is your favorite memory together
so far?

Speaker 4 (15:21):
Oh, I would have to say that Thursday night game.
That one was fired, like, you know, coming down to
the end and watching the d line and make a
play to win the game. Like, man, that was I mean,
it doesn't get better than that, you know, getting a
chance to celebrate with the guys. You just kind of
put it on our hands Outfred and did a crazy job.
Like I've never seen a play like that in my life.

(15:42):
That was insane. So probably a Thursday night game.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Shout out to the wire. What's your favorite memory?

Speaker 3 (15:47):
That's very hard, but I mean I will have to
just say, just start bus rides after the That's true.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
Be funny on the back of the bus, the whole
the lines back there laughing.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
It sounds like when you're a kid you take field
trips exactly.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
Just really what it is. I have the teachers back
there yellow.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Love that. Okay. Favorite part about living in the base
so far the weather.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
It's awesome. The weather is just lovely.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
So a sunny day eating Jackie's place and maybe taking
a trip into the city. It sounds like a perfect day.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
Right now, it's time back home. I think we I
think it's snowed already back home. So I'm glad I
missed out on that.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Oh no, I'm a spoiled California girl, So that sounds scary.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
All right.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Go to song or artist right.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
Now, between Little Dirk or Lucky. Yeah, I've been listening
to a lot of Lucky recently. Lucky's been like top
of my playlist.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
I mean, i'll say Future, but like I mix it
up so much so I listen to everybody put Future
for sure.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Okay, so if that was the one artist he had
to listen to, maybe for like months on end. You're fine, guys, Okay,
what are some of your hobbies outside of football?

Speaker 4 (17:08):
I love cooking. I'm a big cook, Like I can.
I can really throw down in the kitchen. I'll go cooking.
I'll go on like little hikes around here. That's one
thing I noticed about the Bay area. So it's a
lot of cool hiking spots to go to and like
mountains to see and stuff like that. So I've done
a little bit of that. Yeah, and gaming.

Speaker 1 (17:24):
The nature is beautiful. I think that's what makes the
Bay Area so unique. What are some of your signature dishes?

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Oh, I make some bomb buttered chicken, fresh buttered chicken,
fresh garlic nan like, it's so good. And Alfreid of
steak alfreidos like one of my one of my classes.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
That sounds amazing. Thanksgiving is coming up. Does that mean
you're going to be getting down in the kitchen for Thanksgiving?

Speaker 4 (17:48):
No, that's all my mom's job. I leave Thanksgiving to
my mom. I'm like, ma, I leave all that to
you because it's you can't you can't go wrong with it.
I would not be cooking on Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Did you learn how to cook from her?

Speaker 4 (17:59):
Yeah? My mom taught me how to that's sweet.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Okay, the West Family Thanksgiving sounds amazing. In that case.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
My mom makes the best mac and cheese ever. I
don't care about any other food but the mac and cheese.
That's good.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
I'm happy, nice, nice, nice, I'll fred. What do you
do when you're not playing football?

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Playing either playing video games? I like to hike as well.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
I got a doll, a little puppy, so we always
go and walks and stuff like that, so he really
takes up most.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
Of my time.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
You're a dog dad. It takes a lot of time
and responsibility. Tell me about your puppy.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
His name is River.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
He's a he's a he's a little doll people boxer mix, cute,
little sea lion. He just likes to sleep you. So
he likes to do in kodos. So he makes my
job easy. But it's a lot of work.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
I can only imagine. I love hearing it. Now. We
talked about favorite movie. For you it was and for
you it was The Dark Knight. All right, faithful, there
you go. There's the favorite movies.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
All right.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
What's one piece of advice or a saying that your
parents always told you that sticks with you now?

Speaker 4 (19:11):
Treat others like you want to be treated.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
The golden rule.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
That's a number, because you never know who you can
come across or who that person might be on later
in life. Like regardless, treat everybody with respect and you
never know who you're run into.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
Is there something that your parents or a family member
always yielding your head and you still think of it
to this day.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Better you're better, Never settle so like you don't be
comfortable where you're at, Like you can always get better.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
So tomorrow or the next five minutes.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
Beautiful, that's a bar.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
Those are really good, really good. You guys have amazing
family to encourage you in those ways. What are some
fun facts about guys in your rookie class? So not
only did you run into Alfred over at the airport,
but once you got down into the Bay area and
met the whole crew, what stands out about those guys?

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Oh? Man, we had a bunch of us, all different
types of personality. I don't one thing with Michael. He's
a big fisher like, he loves fishing, so I've never
really fished before. So whenever he gets back healthy, you know,
wishing to not speedy recovery for him. It's my guy, man,
But we're going to take a little fishing tripping, go fishing.
He could teach me a little.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Something that sounds fun. Would you go camping and do
the whole nine?

Speaker 4 (20:17):
No, you're staying in the woods nowhere. Boy, Yeah, I'm
not going camping. I'm not. I can't do that.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
Alfred. What did you think of the guys?

Speaker 3 (20:31):
You know, everybody has a strong personality, you know what
I'm saying, And uh, I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
I just love everybody like this. That's really, That's all
I say.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Was there any like how mikel is really into fishing?
As you got to learning who the guys are, did
anything really stand out about them or you were surprised
to learn about them?

Speaker 3 (20:54):
I mean the fact that, like you said, my fishes,
I would never assume that. And then what else to
be cool?

Speaker 1 (21:03):
All right, you're going down the list here. What would
your careers be if you weren't football players?

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Talk show hosts or broadcasting something someone along those lines.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Yeah, you're talking for construction? Oh cool? Why construction?

Speaker 3 (21:20):
I mean, I mean big strong. I don't want to
work in the office, too big to do that.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
So I'd rather just be outside doing some you.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Know that satisfying you know, Yeah, I'm looking at them
do that stuff's cool?

Speaker 5 (21:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Yeah, it's hard work and it's dedication and getting some
fresh air. I like it. Now, it sounds like this
person is looking for some advice, Like they're a college
football player. How did you make yourself known to college scouts?
Or they're a high school FOOTBA player? Should I say?

Speaker 4 (21:46):
First off, you have to find like a position that
you truly want to stick with and like just better
yourself in that position and just putting yourself out there,
going to camps, going to all the little scouting things,
all that stuff matters because that just gets your name
out there more and more. So to do everything you
can go to, go to different colleges, go to their camps,
even if it's small colleges. Every single college matters. Doesn't

(22:08):
matter where you go. You can make it from anywhere.
So don't turn down those small schools just because they're small.
Like I came, I started at Kent State, one of
the smaller schools in the MAC. You knows, not everybody
knows about it. But you can make it from wherever
you are. So just don't don't you know, down to
school because you're smaller. Like, put in an effort, put
in the work, and it'll all work out for sure.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Everything you said it is what you need to do.
So be relosus on a field. I no position you are.
But run the ball.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
Yeah, run to the ball. That coaches love that.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
Yeah, attack the ball, offense, defense, whatever you do. The
ball is life. I love hearing it. Okay, we talked
about the moment that someone told you that you had
what it took to be in the NFL. You guys
have made it. This fan question says, have you had
your welcome to the NFL moment yet where things really
shook into reality?

Speaker 4 (22:57):
Oh? Yeah, yeah it was. It was the one time
in practice I was lined up and Trent was lined
up across from me, and he came down with a
little bit of a little bit of power. I was like, oh, okay,
I felt that a little It was a little solid
down block, but you know, he helped me up. I
was like, you good, rook, like you know, to keep going.
But yeah, that was definitely one of the moments. I'm like, man,

(23:19):
there's some strong guys up there, for sure, a friend.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Oh Week one regular season, wasn't prepared for it.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
My god, I've never been I've never like got hit
so hard, like my feet in the air. I got
like it was just embarrassing. So that was my welcome
to the NFL, Like these guys are real. So but
since then it's been a little better.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
So hey, welcome, welcome. I mean, what's it like lining
up across Trent, a future Pro Football Hall of Famer,
and being able to get up against him every single
day to prepare for these NFL games.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
I mean, it doesn't get any better than Trent. You
know what I'm saying, Like, that's the best of the best.
That's the pedestal, that's that's the goat and offensive tackle position. Yeah,
it's everything. You get the experience from it, you get
you know, he tells you little things that you're doing
wrong that may make you better those situations, or even
tells you how to attack him, like you know, this

(24:12):
is what to do when you get at these situations
in the game. So, oh yeah, it's awesome.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
It's like iron Sharpent's Aron, Like he's just gonna make
us better, like you said, gonna pick his brain and
he teaches us way. He's like he's the best. He's
cream to crop and you know, being able to go
against some very days this Sunday, I'm not.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Going to get no chrend.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
So it's like yeah, okay, perfect. And then the faithful
ask right here, what is the necessity that you need
to do every game? So do you have pregame rituals
or is there something you need to do before you
take the fields.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
One thing I always do it for every game, I
post a song of the week. That's that's my number
one thing. I always do that before I play, I
post a song that I really enjoyed that week and
just kind of want to give it out to people, like, Hey,
this is a chance to listen to the song and
I've been listening to. I always post a song of
the week.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Okay, I'm gonna look out for that.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
That's pretty.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
I always before games, I always walk just walk around
the field, just smell the air, smell the football, like
just getting getting that mindset.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
You know, I'm about to go to war. And then
what else did to do? No doubt, I'll just say.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
I'll do that.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
So grounding yourself. Are you into meditation and mindfulness? Tell
me about that.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
You know your mind is probably the strongest team you know,
your own. And you know when you can train it
and learn how to deal with things a certain way,
a healthy way, then you know you're a bad person,
you know, in a good way, very bad good person,
you know.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Bad on the field, but a good person. Watch out
for that. Man. I really like this question. It's funny
who would win in a taco eating contest between me
anfort Yes, hearing about your order make you think that
you're the winner.

Speaker 5 (26:03):
The double chicken, the fish that one.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Okay, another question This questions from Manny James, how does
it feel to have Robert sala as your defensive coordinator?
What have you learned from him so far?

Speaker 4 (26:20):
Mhmm.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
I would say just just just being relentless, just being
just being more detail oriented, you know, and just like
you know, playing for those on the side he left
and right.

Speaker 4 (26:34):
So yeah, yeah, Coach Salad is awesome.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Man.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
He's one of a great defensive coordinator. He's super smart.
You know, you get to pick his brain and where
were sitting in those unit meetings with him, and he's
just really telling us like this is why this is happening,
and this is why I'm doing this. And getting to
be able to see all that from you know, a
bigger lens than just the defensive line, it really helps
kind of just understand our defense and he really puts
us in some pretty good positions to make plays. That's

(26:58):
an awesome place with him. And I mean, man, he's he
wants us to hunt an attack and that's what we do.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
We get to see his intensity on the sidelines, But
what's he like in the meeting rooms maybe outside of
the TV broadcaster we get to watch him.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
Yeah, he's a chill He's chills chill. Yeah, Like from
what you're saying on the sidelines, it might be he
might seem like a different person, you know, in the
meeting rooms or just get a chance to talk to him, like,
you know, he's a real genuine guy. He's real chill
and he just he's just awesome, man, He's awesome fun.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
What's the best thing about being a defensive lineman.

Speaker 4 (27:31):
Oh, the violence of the game. It's the most violent
position on the field. And if you want to play
this position, you have to be violent. And that's that's
the best part about it. You usually have to really
accept that, accept that role.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
Violence. You got it.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
You can't let the man in front of you, you know,
out me. You know what I'm saying. Like, it's fun,
it's challenge and best. Yeah, I love it so much.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
That makes it stand out. That's what football is.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
And what the defensive line is like. If the defensive
line is rolling, the rest of the team is rolling
as well. And it's it's a position where you kind
of have to put a lot on your back, and
you know, that's just what we accept. We accept that
role and if we're playing good, everybody else is playing good.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
So amen, And I think that's the philosophy here at
the Niners for years. So for you guys having that
mentality in this room, it only makes us better. It's
so fun to hear that.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
All right.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Final question, it's a fun one. A pizza topping. You
can't go without pepperoni.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
You gotta do not put pineapple on your pizza thoughts.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
I'm witt you like, oh say.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Yeah, do not put it on pizza. I think you
meant state leave it on the pizza.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
No, no, no, that's the worst thing ever people do that.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
That is so funny. Well, Alfred c J. It was

We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today.
