(00:31):
thanks for joining the podcast today.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Thank you for having me excited to be here.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yeah, no, it's exciting, and it's also exciting that it's
your first year as a captain.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
How's it feeling so far?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
It's been feeling good.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
You know, I feel like it's a bigger role you know,
how to play as far as being a leader and
you know, just taking the mixed steps to help the
younger ours.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
And I mean throughout your entire career you've been talking
about how you want that respect on your name. Do
you think this captain title gives you some of that?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Oh? Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
You know when you got to see on your chests,
you know, everybody look at you a little different, so
like you can't be making like childish mistakes.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
And it's really cool that you're stepping into this role.
Now let's get to know more about Demo who you
are as a person off the field. It's widely known
that you grew up in a huge family, So for
fans who maybe don't know, can you describe what your
family dynamic is, how big it is?

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Oh yeah, I got I got twenty one brothers and sisters,
well twenty one the total, and I got sixteen brothers
and five sisters.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
That's a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Are you able to even like name all your siblings
from the oldest to youngest?

Speaker 2 (01:37):
No, you got a whole football team somebody for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Yeah, No, that's cool. That's really cool.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Do you think growing up in such a big family
shapedier competitive nature?

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Oh yeah, for sure, because I had brothers, you know that,
Like when we played a video game, they would talk trash,
so then they'll be like, you know, I have to
learn how to talk trash and you know, learn how
to win too.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
I could be able to do it.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
And football has been a huge part of your life
ever since you were a kid. What team did you
guys all cheer for or did each sibling have their
own NFL team?

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Everybody had their own team.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Like I remember one of my brothers, one of my
older brothers, like both of our team was the Falcons.
So because just because Mike Vick, so we was always
cheering for, you know, the Atlanta Falcons.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
I do know that one of your older brothers was
also a Niner fan.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, my oldest brother. Yeah, he was
a Niner fan. That was the Niners was his favorite team.
So that's why I like when I got drafted and
I had a picture, I had that picture of him,
he had like the Niners ad on.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Was it sweet coming here and just thinking about your
brother during that time?

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Oh yeah, yeah for sure.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
It was actually crazy, like just to be drafted to
his favorite team. I mean obviously he wasn't able to
see it, but you know, it was just crazy, you
know that sequence.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
All right, let's get into a little bit of your childhood.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
What's it like growing up in LA as a little kid,
but with such a big community.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
It was, I mean it was kind of crazy.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
But La also got like some nice parts, you know,
but like not where I grew up, but like we
had to drive to go see the nice person.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
But it was it was actually fun though.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
It taught me how to be like a man, I
will say, just because I ain't like we was always outside,
you know, playing and stuff like really growing like really
growing up, like you know, really learning how to be
a dope.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Tell me some of your favorite memories in La the
like a favorite food spot or favorite.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Thing you like to do with all your siblings.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
I would say we would kind of go to like
the back of like San Pedro, and that's like kind
of like.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
They would call it like the edge of the world.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Like, so all my family would go there and then
just be at the park, you know, hanging out and
just throwing footballs, like just airplanes and stuff like that,
like you know, just like kites and stuff, and you know,
just just enjoy nature.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Yeah, you like to be outside.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
And also you've been around football your whole life because
you grew up near USC. How did that proximity help
shape your dreams or your love for football?

Speaker 2 (04:10):
It was always like it was always right there.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
Like I would say, like I would never like go
a day without thinking about football just because like I
drive past the coliseum every day just seeing going to
usc practices, being heavily recruited, just just seeing like a
lot of football stuff. Like it was never like I
was like football was never off my mind. Like I

(04:34):
would say, all my brothers played football, so you know
for me to just you know take it to that
next step.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
I mean, they were all happy, but they were all
supporting too.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
It seems like the story of your life so far
has been family in football.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Like your biggest things. Oh yeah, yeah, is it true
you were coached by Snoop Dogg.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
I wouldn't coached by him, but like he was so
like he owned he owned the league, the Snoop Youth
Football League, so he would like come out and talk
to us, and then like at the end of the year,
like all the best players they were, like we would
go and like go to like Florida and then play
like the best over there, like so they would make

(05:12):
like an all star team. So then I mean you
could say I was coached by Snoop den because he
would make the all Star team at the end of
the year and then we would just all team up
and didn't go play like Florida, Texas and school states
like that.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Do you have any stories with him?

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Nah, I ain't got no.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
I mean my first time, my first time meeting him,
like he called me, He did call me nephew, So
then I was like, you know, I was like, I
ain't know it was related to Snoop Dogg.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
But then it was like like he just say that.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
Yeah, But then I was like, but it was it
was always cool, like every time because he coached.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
He coached the Pomona Steelers, so they was kind of
like our rival. So every time we would play them,
we'll see Snoop. So then you just think back like
to all the movies, like all the movies he was
in and stuff. So it was just like cool to
you know, grow up and you know, just see him.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Yeah, it's so cool. So Snoop Dogg he knows ball?

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Oh yeah, yeah for sure. Yeah that is so cool.
And does he still stay in touch with you? Like
does he still call you nephew on the phone you're
in there?

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Oh yeah, yeah for sure. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
I was supposed to go down and see him in LA,
but then I had I had missed the miss the ride.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Yeah that's all good.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Well, now you're playing in your fifth season and you've
seen a lot of locker rooms with this forty nine
ers team. You were a lot of time known as
the little bro, whether that was to Mooney, Trivius Ward,
Jimmy Ward, Jason Vrtt. But now this year you're the
You're the big bro. So who do you got under
your wing this season?

Speaker 2 (06:38):
I got I got a lot of so in my room.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
You know, we got up and Style, Marky Siegel, you know, Canteen.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
You know, we got a lot of We got a
lot of good, good rookies.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
So I try to just keep them guys up under
my wing and just you know, talk to them. You know,
whenever I feel like something is getting too complicated for him,
just try to talk about talking about it and talk
them through it, you know, just so they can be
you know, one percent better every day.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Yeah, you've got a lot of legendary mentors, like even
Richard Sherman. I know it's still your mentor. So what's
the best piece of advice you've gotten while you've been
in the league.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
Just really, it was really before that that playoff run
that I had where I was interested in getting a
lot of interceptions and stuff. He was just telling me, like,
just the game is never as big as you making it.
You know, just slow it down, you know, and read
your keys. You know, it's all it's it's everything you
prepare for. Really, so once he told me that, it

(07:36):
was you know, it was raps.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yeah. Your growth to captain now has been one of
the coolest stories of this forty nine ers team over
the past few years. And you're a dad now, baby boy,
Titan is coming up on four years old. He said,
a record as like a hospital's biggest baby.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Right, Yeah, it's Kevin.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
How does being Titan's dad give you a different perspective
on life?

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Just really like it taught me patience, you know, because
I was always like, I don't know, like whenever I
got something to do, I'm always trying to like just
get it done, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
I'm like with him, you know, like.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Just because I used to have like in the OTAs,
I had to like bring him to work with me
in the morning just because I was watching them and stuff,
and it was like, you know, I tried to like,
you know, get him up because I'm like a last
minute person, so like I was trying to get him
up and just get him ready. And then like you know,
it was just I just thought to myself, like nah,

(08:31):
like you know, you got to be more patient. Like
so just being just you know, being the father you know,
taught me patience.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
I would say, that's really sweet.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
And we're coming up on my cause my cleats season soon,
I word behind the scenes, so I know your cleats
are literally being worked.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
On right now as we speak.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
And in years past, you focused your cause on down
syndrome to support your an honor your little sister Kalia,
and also Mooney's angel, his late daughter Amani.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Is that your focus this year? Also?

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Oh yeah, for sure.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
You know Mooney, he like a brother to me, so
you know, I still, you know, want to honor him
just because you know, he was the only other person
I knew that you know, sibling or or daughter had
Down syndrome, so and we was pretty tight. So you know,
I'll just always do it, and you know, in the
name of him.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
And tell me about how the story came about behind
choosing Down syndrome support as your cause.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Just because of my little sister. She she was born
with Down syndrome, so you know, just growing up, I mean, well,
just talking to my mom when I first found out
about it, I was just like, you know, I never
really experienced that before, because none of my siblings was
ever you know, born with Down syndrome. So I just

(09:46):
like knew she was gonna be kind of different, and
I knew stuff was gonna be like different growing up,
you know, for her. But you know, I always treated
her the same, and you know, just wanted her to
be loved.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
Yeah, and she's so bright at least we see in
all the photos and videos of you guys.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Has she come out to a Niner game.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
She's coming out November for the Rams game.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Okay, that'll be a super special treat. And we'll get
to see your new custom cleats very soon, which is exciting.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Oh yeah, all.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
Right, are you ready for a little game?

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (10:15):
All right, So your.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Nickname is the Hyena and Hyena's role in packs. So
we're gonna play a game and you're gonna describe your pack,
your team, your squad. I'm gonna name off a few
prompts and you're gonna tell me which teammate that prompt fits.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
Are you ready?

Speaker 2 (10:29):
All right?

Speaker 3 (10:29):
All right?

Speaker 1 (10:30):
So first one in the pack who brings the jokes, Chase, Chase,
who keeps the intensity.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Up in not including myself?

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Yeah, yeah, you got to describe your pack?

Speaker 2 (10:44):
Oh, just the pack, all right? Keep the intensity yep?

Speaker 3 (10:50):
Who keeps everyone very level headed? Focused? Who's the quiet assassin?
That could be like.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Very quick witted or segull so both in the locker
room and on the field.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Yeah, I like that answer. Who's the one that's always
hyping you up? So that's good? And who's in your pack?
Off the field?

Speaker 1 (11:10):
You guys always hang out. Maybe you guys are playing
Madden all the time?

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Samoa? Is he good on Madden?

Speaker 1 (11:16):
He?

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Alright, you're better, You're better? Who's the best dressed?

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Best dress?

Speaker 3 (11:25):
I love it? Now?

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Speaking of Trent, I know he's mister Silverback. We got
you the hyena, Nick Bosta the bear, So we're also
going to give some other animal names to some other teammates.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Are you ready to get that one? All right? So
Chase Lucas. If he's an animal? Who is he?

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Bodka?

Speaker 3 (11:41):
I have a feeling you've done this before. You already
got them?

Speaker 5 (11:44):
Then?

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Who's Breyce Huff?

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Bryce Hoof.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
A rhino? Tatum Bethune a wolf? I like it?

Speaker 5 (11:54):
Mikeel Mike, you you know he I give him lying
a lion stout stout uh he he's like a baby hyena.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Baby hyena. He gets that title.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Okay, stout Malick Malick break wall, not even an animal,
a straight break I look it.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
We now got a whole safari over on the defense.
Now let's dive into some fan questions. So we posted
it on our Instagram story for faithful to tap in
and send us their questions directly to you.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Are you ready to go through them?

Speaker 1 (12:35):
All?

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Right?

Speaker 1 (12:35):
First question, what does your neck tattoo mean? And how
many tattoos do you have?

Speaker 2 (12:41):
This is me.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
This one means my son name. I got it in
Chinese just because that's cool.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
So that's tight en right there. Yeah, really really cool.
And do you have a lot of tattoos?

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Yeah? I got a lot.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
I don't even know how many I got, honestly, Like,
I'm almost fled.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
I'm almost feeling.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
I know you're a big Madden fan. But the next
question says, what do you do for fun? Is it
usually gaming?

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yes? Gaming?

Speaker 4 (13:05):
Or I'm like on YouTube just like watching stuff, like
watching funny stuff.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Yeah, I watch I watch.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Like roast me like it's like a bunch of It's
like a bunch of comedians sit in the classroom and
they joke on each other all day.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Oh that's funny.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Yeah, yeah, you think you could ever join of us?

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Yes for sure, and just like start roasting everybody. Yeah
that sounds good. We need to get you one of
those videos.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
All right, you used to wear number thirty eight, But
why did you choose number two?

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Number two?

Speaker 4 (13:35):
So when I was in high school, I was playing JV,
I wore number two, and then my Pop Warner team,
I wore number two, so it was kind of like
my number.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
You know.

Speaker 4 (13:46):
That was like before they even let you wear singles
in the NFL, Like I wanted to wear number two,
but we couldn't wear singles. So once I was able
to get number two, it was like a no brainer.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
So it's always been with you. At what age did
you start playing football?

Speaker 4 (14:03):
At six? But I had see I got a wild story.
At six, I was playing I was playing basketball, but
then I had tried out for football, and then I
ain't like it because it was contact, Like it was
too much contact. So then I ain't gonna say I quit.
I took a break. I took a break for like

(14:25):
a year, and then I came back. And then that's
when I started I played running back.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
What grew that confidence to come back? Especially running back
because you're getting all the contacts.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Yeah, I had got stronger, like I start doing push
ups and stuff, Like as a younger, I start doing
push ups and stuff. Then I started getting stronger, and
then like the hits like they didn't like phase me
no more. But then also my sister her boyfriend, he
was like, he was just telling me was playing. We
was in the streets and then we was playing like

(14:54):
we were just throwing the ball around. He was like,
you should try off of football, and I was like,
I tried out before, but I ain't like it. He like,
I'm telling you now you should try it, Like I
think he'll be good. So then I would say like
a year later, like he had passed away also, so
a year later, I was like, I'm gonna just try it,

(15:15):
like to see what he was talking about. Then I
tried it and then I started I fell in love
with it.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
He knew what he was talking about.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Yeah, that was crazy.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
We're gonna wrap up with just a couple of last
fan questions. Who's on your mount Rushmore of corners?

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Mount Rushmore of Corners?

Speaker 3 (15:29):
So that's like four of them.

Speaker 4 (15:31):
Yeah, I'm gonna go Richard Sherman, Dion Sanders, Darrell Reeves,
and Champ Bailey.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Yeah, that's a strong.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Four, very good. What's your favorite organ uniform?

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Favorite one? I would say, we got these silver uniforms.
I got it framed in my house. But we got
these silver uniforms and then the chrome helmets. Oh my god,
those the best ones.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Speaking of being dripped down, the fans want to know
what you've got cooking for your arrival's outfit in Houston
this Sunday.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
Ooh I got I'm probably gonna go with like some
army stuff, like you know, cut off shirt, like yeah,
because it'd be kind of hot in Houston, so yeah,
I'll probably go cut off.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
How soon out do you plan your outfits?

Speaker 2 (16:25):
I was looking on Monday. I ain't gonna line.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
I was like, I'll need to see him to wear
because you know, the week be creeping up on this
fast because we leave on a Friday, exactly right. I
got everything planned.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Right after practice, get in the locker room and shared

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
