Speaker 2 (00:39):
Good evening and welcome to Cleveland Browns Daily. I am
Nathan Zegera alongside Andrew Siciliano, the play by play voice.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Heer Cleveland brown.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Senior Swag making us fly by early today right as
we kick things off, running a business in a beautiful
navy suit today, big fantastic.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Yes, lifts. Those are called power lifts. You does not
need lifts, That's what they're called. I may need lifts.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
It is dark outside, not just daylight savings. We don't
know what's going on. I'm surrounded by illness. I'm told
those are two fine looking gentlemen up there.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
What's up, dude? Welcome, Welcome to Cleveland. Good to see you. Yeah,
were you?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
I feel like you were broad here because you were
expecting big trade day action. Instead you got Joe Tryon
Shoyinka and we were lamented. In fact, we haven't called
it us.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Yeah, my man, Dom, let's go no more than seven
snaps in any game, defensive snaps in any game this year.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
I did think we might.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
Be doing a trade deadline. Well, hey, with the New
Hours on the show, you guys had the trade deadline
right in the mir or live.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
We were live, we did, we were listening. Yeah, well
I appreciate that. Yeah yeah, but for us, not a
whole lot.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Now, our opponent this week, the Jets quite busy trading
away their two best defensive players.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Kidbe by the way, when Gibbey said, I'm checking Twitter
and I'm making sure that you know I'm not nothing's
going on for any hacked accounts, I was considering considering setting.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Up like one of those fake accounts and trying to
full give a because all it takes is being burned once. Yeah,
and I think all of us, maybe maybe all of
us have been burned once afore.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Well, Ian Rappaport yesterday after he did the sauce gardener trade,
I think he might have done the first to have it.
He actually had to do another tweet like two minutes later,
going like I'm not hacked, this is real. Because nobody
wanted to believe it. Even Denzel Denzel Worth today said
he was absolutely shocked, but hey, it's the NFL floored.
How about the fact that they traded a guy who's
in concussion protocol.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Can you remember the last time that's happened? Does he
remember it?
Speaker 4 (02:45):
I mean, that's not funny, but I don't. You made
that joke earlier, Okay on the air.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
I brought it back. I understand. I thought you were like, listen,
this is what happens when you do a show.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
After happy there is there is like, I mean, how
do you Is there any code for that?
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Like you have to go to the player.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
I would imagine he has to be I would imagine
he has to be progressing in the concussion protocol. Their doctors,
I would imagine, would have to be like there's yeah,
there's got to be something. But can you trade a
guy who's on IR What if.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
What if he yeah? What if he had a no
trade clause? Can somebody which he did not? Now, what
can somebody in concussion protocol grant? I would say no,
grant a, I'm out of here. In a no trade clause,
I would say no. I would say no as well.
But he don't have it, so they.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Could have had something where it says, in the event
that I am in concussion protocol, I signed this well
before I'm what of you know, all of my faculties.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
I'm saying, yes, these are also the hypotheticals. That's not
the case.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
He got traded, he did not play, and if he's
able to go to Berlin, then Sauce Gardner will go
to Berlin and he'll do what Greg Newsom did, which
is two games overseas, but he gets two countries, which
is Newsom getting bad.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
This was in the same hotel.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Greg had to go back to the same hotel. He said,
he did not have the same room. But he went
back to the same hotel, which has to.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Go tell great food Cots, Oh yeah, great, amazing food.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
The food was that was the best road trip food
we've ever had from a hotel.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Stack and you, me and Hoff got a great meal
as well in the city, even though I took you
to the wrong restaurant, but did you I didn't, but
I did. It was the restaurant we intended to go to.
I made a reservation at a different restaurant, showed up
at the restaurant that we intended to go to yes
and said, what do you mean you don't have our
reservation and.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
They accommodated, like I made this.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
So I was watching that Knives Out show and I
don't even know if that's right knife edge maybe about
the knife Michelin Micheland stars and I was thinking one
of the things, like, you know, we have one of
your best feels. I was put I'd put that up
there and was one of the best meals. That's recentcy bias,
one of the best feels I've ever had.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
It was great. I ate pigeon, yeah, and I liked it.
You had never had pigeon before?
Speaker 2 (04:55):
No, okay, No, I mean I know that pigeons and
doves aren't the same.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
They kind of similar. Doves are white.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
But when I heard when doves cry, as man, I
never need a dove.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
No, I don't give it.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Apparently hidgeons are basically flying rats.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Yeah. Well I had one with a nice balsamic glaze.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
And a little bit of that that was like a
nice uh or something on top.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Yeah, but I was a guanchali. Yeah, Sinley sliced.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Yeah, it was. It was delightful, all.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Right, real quickly practice wrapping up shortly for the Browns.
Injury update, Shador Sanders back at practice today, but limited
because of a back to be determined if he'll be
the number four two quarterback on Sunday in New York.
Certainly helps back. Did not practice today, Isaiah Bond. He's
dealing with a foot injury, Cam Robinson illness, Carson Swessinger ankle. Now,
the good news is Cedra Tillman is back for the
(05:44):
Browns at wide receiver. I'd say, on one level, the
bad news is that his two touchdowns through four games
still stand to be tied for the most receiving touchdowns
on this roster. But I think getting him back has
to be a good thing for this receiving core that
has struggled of late.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
That is one way to put it. It is it
should be a good thing. I think it's also the
one thing that I know that you and I over
the last month, I mean said got hurt in Detroit
to memory serves right, So do not make the trip
with us to London week five, got hurt Week four.
In this last month, I think we focus so much
on Dylan and Quinnheawn on how to get everything going,
we have kind of overlooked the fact that Cedric had
(06:23):
not been on the field. Now, granted we have yet
to see Cedric aside from that what month long run
in the middle of the season last year with Jamis
really take flight. But clearly I think it would have
helped you on quarterback one way or the other, would
have magically made this offense better with Kevin Sevanskin not
handed play calling duties over to Tommy Reese. If if
(06:43):
Cedric Tilman had been there the last month, I think
that's hard to say.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
I'm not going to go that far.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Okay, I do think it helps. Look, hey, you yell weapons, weapons,
weapons every day. I do, and I hear you. I
mean he can't. It helps to have him back, yes, period, certainly.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
I mean you look at what he's done. Unfortunately we
haven't seen him much because he missed the final six games,
but if you look at those games before he got
injured there he was one of the most productive receivers
in the league. And then through four games for US
really three and a half, the two touchdowns were certainly
as productive as anybody that we had. You brought up
Tommy Race.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
We haven't.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
We've talked about it, but we're going to talk about
it in this medium. What do you make of that
decision to make Tommy Rees the play caller for the
Cleveland Browns, And what, if anything do you expect to
see that would be different.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
I'll be honest, I don't know what to make of it.
It's I don't know that I saw it coming.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Same.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
Used to have a conversation with Brian Billick all the time,
the old Ravens head coach won a Super Bowl. Obviously
was an offensive coordinator before he was ad coach. He
was the OC with those great Vikings offenses, Randy Moss, etc.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
In Minnesota and Random Moss.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
He always made the point that once you give up
play calling, you do not get it back. Well, Kevin
got it back, gave it up last year, got it back.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
Can you give it up twice and get it back?
Speaker 3 (07:59):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Well, that to me is the question. Look, that is
a long term question, not a short term question. A
short term is what does Tommy Reese do differently? It's
the same playbook. It's not as if all of a
sudden you're writing twenty five new pages of the playbook
this week. Maybe one new page, maybe two. But not
twenty five new pages. Is about sequencing, certainly, sure, setting
(08:21):
things up and paying them off later, like any good
o'c would do.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
I'm curious to see how it works.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
I'm excited to see how it works, because the new
set eyes on anything.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Is good.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
Yeah, it is a good thing. I don't know what
to expect, to be honest with you. Jerry Judy was asked,
is it gonna be different?
Speaker 3 (08:39):
He said, we'll see Sunday.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
And what's different about last year is that this year,
at least you will have for one game and perhaps
more with Dylan Gabriel, you'll have the same quarterback like
when Kevin gave up the play calling last year, it
was coming out of Cincinnati, in which that game Deshaun
Watson got hurt, dtr came in, and then the next
game was Jamis and Ken Dorsey. So it was two variables,
(09:04):
significant variables change in this one. It's one significant variable changing, right.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
I don't know what it's going to look like. Tommy,
Let's back up and say this about Tommy. Tommy is
a very well respected guy who could add a number
of jobs. Tommy's name has already been thrown out there
early in the air about hey.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
There's a head coaching job out there. You should keep
an eye on it.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
Sure his name has been in that conversation, maybe not publicly,
maybe not printed, but you know, those are things people
talk about. Tommy's not some bum where. They're just saying, hey,
you try. So I am curious and mildly excited to
see what he could do. But if why it talked
this week and even last week about hey, a lot
of times things are drawn up great, but one guy
(09:45):
misses a block. You and I have talked about this
on Sunday's story of our tape of this year. It's
the story, Hey, here's a you know, here's a quick bubble,
but one guy missed the block. Here's an outside zone,
but one guy missed the block. Here's a rollout in
a shop, play where you keep a tight end in
ten a tight ended, but one guy missed a block.
Don't matter if Tommy's calling plays. If you get one
(10:07):
guy missing a block every time, yep, because all it
takes is that one and the play is dead.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
You can't have that.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
So if him call and play somehow gets everyone assignment sound,
then fine, let's do it. But That's the thing I
need over the bye week is everyone comes back and
I'm sorry, we.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Just came from New England to the whole do your
job thing.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
But you need you need to be assignment sound.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Let's put it that one.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yes, Gerard always says assignment and alignment. That's the basic
Those are the basic things that have to be right
for a team to be able to get it done.
All right, Trade deadline we mentioned just kind of a
little bit about the Jets. They traded both Saucegarter and
Quinnin Williams, two of the best players on their defense,
which is good for us, good for our offense hopefully.
On Sunday, what did you make overall of the trade deadline?
(10:54):
What were kind of your takeaways, what were the trends
and and was it did it live up to what
it felt like?
Speaker 4 (11:00):
It was kind of builds to be more than it was.
From my opinion, I think we build it up every year.
I think the idea that the Jets straight of those
two guys is absurd. It's not it makes sense. You
got three number ones coming back and you guys are
going nowhere.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Tear it down. I am all for what they.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
Did, but I think it's the the very first time
in what the league calls the Common Draft era in
which a team acquired multiple number ones in multiple deals
in the same season. Like what they did, No one's done. Yep,
So hats off to them, and the idea that they
have five number ones and three number twos in a
(11:40):
twelve month period a thirteen month period is bonkers. But
you got to turn those guys into players, Like, are
they going to draft Sauce Gardner again? He's a really
good player. Are they gonna draft Quinn Williams again, he's
a really good player. I'm all for resetting the contract clock.
But the Dolphins had five number ones, which between twenty
(12:00):
and twenty one.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Where'd they go?
Speaker 4 (12:03):
They scored seventy points in a game against the Broncos
in September once yate fun, But what have they done?
They go to the playoffs, they lose. It's cold, Their
offense can never do it in January.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Their defense has never been there. Yep.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
They just traded Jalen Phillips for three I mean, the
Jets to me made the deadline exciting. Other than that,
really there wasn't that much excitement. I think the Rashid
Shaheed trade to Seattle Solidrid.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
It's a good value for them. What was the other one?
Say the Cowboys on the other side. I don't know
get this. I don't get the Cowboys thing, do you?
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Losing the Arizona Losing to Arizona to me would have
changed it a little bit, but it certainly did not.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
And you got to pay Quinn in the next two
years and likely give him another contract. So you trade
Micah for two ones and Kenny Clark. Then you trade
a one for Quinn. So you basically trade Micah for
Kenny Clark, Quinn Williams and a one.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
Yeah, which I think they feel pretty good about.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
Okay, are you that much? You're not making the playoffs
today with or without him?
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Does not feel that way.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
So you're you're doing this now for a guy who
next season, when you hope to make the playoffs, is
going to be twenty eight and that much more expensive
and that much more. I don't know. He's a really
good player. I'm happy for him that he wanted out,
he got out, yep. But I don't know. When you
trade Micah, I would use those picks for younger, cheaper,
(13:41):
star potential players. And again, like the Jets, you have
to go out there and actually draft them. But that
one didn't make sense to me.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
So from the Dallas standpoint again, and losing that game
to Arizona, I think changes their whole kind of trajectory.
But to stand they're good on offense, no, I think, Jack,
But does.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
It change their attitude behind the scenes? Clearly not clearly
not clearly not. No. Now this may have been all
worked out before that game. Anyway, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 4 (14:08):
You could always say we changed our mind just because
you went in front of the cameras and say I
got a trade going.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Who cares? Maybe the traders Logan Wilson yep.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Now, one thing that I think is interesting in all
of this is and he's coming off of his worst
game and what has otherwise been a brilliant season, is
that when you give up two ones in the manner
in which Indianapolis did for sas Garna, that to me
says that they're going to sign Daniel Jones to a
long term deal, and they have to.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
He's there, absoutely have to. Yeah, it gives him leverage too,
of course it does.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
But what if what if the second half of the
season and the schedule does get tough. Now for the Cardinals,
I'm sorry for the Colts.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
What if the second half of the season they're not
that good and.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
They're no longer the one seed instead they're the five seed. Yeah,
and they go on the road and they lose in
the opening round. Daniel Jones, I assume still plays well,
but he's got to have a little bit of a
drop off. There's no I mean, we saw it last week.
There's always going to be that same guy every week.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
Well, now you don't have a number one, Like what
if there's a Sam Darnald thing with Daniel Jones.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Sam Darnald was the guy for sixteen weeks.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Week seventeen, the Lions blitzed the you know what out
of him, yep, and he was awful. And then in
the wild card round in Arizona, the Rams sacked him
nine times and he was awful, and they said, you
know what we got JJ, we better see what we
what we have. We're out. We're not going to bring
him back.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
What if Daniel.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Jones twenty twenty five takes a Sam Darnald twenty twenty
four arc Now you don't have two number ones. If
you could get two number ones for a mod gardener.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
And who is it? Somebody this morning made the point
if his name is a mod gardener, do you get too?
Is he viewed the same way? Well, if he's just a.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Mod, Yeah, it was a great a mod Rashod, a
mod Bradshaw.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Yes, no, definitely, yeah, but think about it anyway. I digress.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
If you all of a sudd run into a Sam
Darnold situation, you no.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Longer have the two picks. What's milesworth? If a mod
sauce gardener gets too number one? Most it can be three? Okay,
you could throw in other things, sure you.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
Supposedly the most you could trade is three is three ones?
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Yes, in consecutive years.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Supposedly that is. I'm not advocating trading miles. I'm just
saying played that game because it was my first reaction.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Well, supposedly there's rumors that that's what the Eagles offered.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
In the spring last year.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Was that last year or yeah, there was who knows
if whatever? Right, But then Howie Roseman was willing to are.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
You're following m L football again? No? No, lock that guy.
I love when you get fired up.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
It's it's literally, in a seriousness. I love I love him,
I love Sauce Gardener. Sure is a good dude. He's
a good player. He's not a pick he's not a
pick magnet. He's the guy don't throw two so he
doesn't get the picks. Totally get that part. It's how
the game is played.
Speaker 6 (17:04):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (17:05):
I don't know that I would have given up two
number ones for Hyep?
Speaker 3 (17:09):
Would you?
Speaker 5 (17:11):
No?
Speaker 2 (17:12):
I would not have because he's not a weapon.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
I'm okay.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Would you have given up two number ones from Micah?
Depending on what my if I was the Green Bay Packers? Sure,
I would have rather you had Rashan Gary. I think
you had a decent enough line. I would have rather
gotten a real receiver for I love. I understand the
fact that you only like offensive foot.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
That's right. You should have called.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
You and I would have been great together in the
Arena Football League twenty years blast.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
We would have had a blast. Yeah, okay, Well, I
just think the stats bear it out too.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
I totally understand that partnering team in your conference you
have about a ninety percent chance of making the playoff.
Your top seven defensive team in your conference, you have
about a fifty five percent chance.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
I understand that part of it.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
We have this whole conversation throughout the entire offseason. Is
a mod Gardner Sauce Gardner in the same conversation as
Michael Partners, Miles Garrett. No, those kind of defensive place No,
I don't think it. But he's still a very good player.
Remember the Jets leased the Seahawks added two number ones
for Jamal Adams for basically linebacker Jamal Adams. Yep, yeah,
(18:12):
technically a safety. Yeah, so they've done this twice. I
think I think Sauce makes the Colts a lot better, but.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
They're all in better. Good for them whatever.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
There is going to be so much pressure on Daniel
Jones in the place.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
Would it surprise you if not the pick in twenty six,
but the pick in twenty seven turns out to be
in the top ten.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
It would be mildly surprising because I think they're pretty
I like their setup. I think they're solid in their
division is not so great right now.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
When you trade with the Eagles and someone says, hey,
the Eagles want to give you two number one, and
they're like thirty and thirty one thanks, Yeah, what's that worth?
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Yeah? I think for the Colts. No, it wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
It wouldn't like floor me mild mild s Like if
I was making that deal. In my mind, I'm saying, Okay,
we're probably picking in twenty six, we're picking in the twenties.
In twenty seven, I'm probably I book mark sixteen sixteen seventeen.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
It's just crazy how one game can make a difference,
where one play can make a difference. Go back to
the Jaguars, right, obviously we're keeping an eye on what
the Jaguars do. Go to the game against the Raiders
this past Sunday, it's in overtime. If Devon Hamilton doesn't
jump up and knock that ball down.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
They lose. They lose.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Do they make the Jacoby Myers trade at that point?
Do they give up a four and a six for
Jacoby Myers?
Speaker 3 (19:34):
At that feels like that trade may have already been done.
It might have already been done.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
And Mike silver I was all over The Athletic was
all over. Bottom of his article said that he and
Trent Salcelli were talking afterwards in the tunnel. But think
about it, like we the Jaguars aren't a much different
because they're in the playoffs, they're right now, the seven seed.
They lose that game, they're four and four. Everything feels
different there. Of course, you know, it was the third
worst passer rating in the NFL, Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 3 (19:59):
Trevor Lawrence third.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
Now Jacksonville leads the NFL and drops Okay, but that's
only way.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Also at the beginning of the I don't know if
it's still true, but early in the season they led
the league in takeaways.
Speaker 4 (20:09):
They did third worst passer rating in the NFL. The
worst is cam Ward yep. The second worst, sorry to report,
is Dylan Gabriel yep. And the third worst is number
is a former first overall pick, Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Yep. Other than that, everything's good in Jacksonville. Yeah, it's good. Yeah.
Where were we? Where were we were just talking?
Speaker 2 (20:35):
We were talking about a great many things in the
National Football League and the trade deadline, and we got
to Indianapolis with Daniel Jones. That's where we were talking.
That's where we originally, That's how we got there. When
you see that our team at two and six did
not make a move with any of our expiring contracts,
which is an NBA term, but nonetheless it makes sense.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
Here as well. What did you were surprised?
Speaker 2 (21:01):
What's the message there that we want to keep everything
together to evaluate Gabriel and Shador.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
I think that's part of the message. I think that
that can be inferred. I also wonder what was offered. Yep,
would you give up David Ajoku for a five six
pick swap? No, I'd want more than that. To me,
it's not it's not worth it. I don't need another
sixth round pick.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
I just don't.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
I don't need another flyer on a special teams linebacker,
on a guy that hopefully is a guy a consequence,
if let's say why, I tell her, for example, who
is happy to be back?
Speaker 3 (21:36):
And I'm happy that he is back?
Speaker 4 (21:37):
Yep, if if you got a third, if you got
a fourth, that's worth listening to. I would love to
know what the offers, if there were truly offers, were
I'm kind of surprised Jerome Ford is still here again,
always saying as much as I like the guy, there
are teams that need running backs Arizona, Kansas City, wherever.
(21:58):
I'm kind of surprised. But for your I would say,
your your key, three guys that you know the two guards,
the two guards and David. I. I wouldn't do it
for just a late round pick. Swamp something substantial.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
To me.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
It's worth having Joel here more than it is getting
a late round pick.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
The only reason you do that with is to say
if he said, hey, I'm retiring, please let me play and.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
You and I would do him that song. Yeah, it
would be painful, but you do him that song absolutely, So.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
I would say clearly that did not come to fruition. Yeah,
and David, are we going to play that? Give David
a presser today?
Speaker 3 (22:42):
He's not press is U. You can be right there.
There's a lot of bleeping, there's a lot of.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
If you would like it, Okay, kept doing let's do
a street saying.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
Yeah, that's pointing at him. I'm not yeah, I'm not leaving.
I'm leaving. I'm not leaving. He's not leaving fastest he
said to pet Track, Yeah, like, oh my god, if
you ask me one more time, yeah, if you're happy, right,
are you happy to be Yeah?
Speaker 2 (23:12):
He's like, don't do that, and Petrick's like, I'm not
That's not what I'm asking you.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
So it's all good. It was classic David.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
It was very impromptu. It was very good, all right.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Kyler Murray's going on. I are see in a month.
I don't think he's hurt.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
I think he's hurt. No, he definitely has a foot injury.
I've talked to people there. He definitely has a foot injury.
Whether or not he could come back and play right
now is another conversation.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
But he didn't. They didn't trip him and push him
down the steps.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
He had an injury. Yes, I think he's recovered from
that injury. And I think this is what just because
he looked limber on the sideline. Yeah, just like when
JJ McCarthy was too hurt to play and Justin Jefferson
came at him and almost took him out, and he
hopped over him with no problem and then started dancing.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
Okay, but I said, oh, I don't think he's hurt.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
Part of That was why he didn't play in la
Is because he hadn't practiced and it was a short week.
And when you're the road team, you know this. When
you're the road team, you don't practice before a T
and F game. True, you do a glorified walk through,
you say body your kids, and you get back on
the plane.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
But he wasn't even was he even the backup that game, Jjah,
he was the emergency three.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
That day.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
My ten year old, eleven year old nephew is blown
up my phone.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
I thought he's hurt. I thought he's not playing him. Like, dude,
he's the emergency three. Let me explain.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
And remember JJ week two, you only play those two
games Week one, ya they won national TV. Then he
laid an egg against Atlanta the next week.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
He had a.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Child that week and his partner that week, and he
had not practiced the entire week. So Kevin was like
Kevin Koc was like, I'm not going to play him
in la with no practice this week.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
He could have been the backup whatever you're talking about.
Speaker 4 (26:28):
Who's the name of the Brosemer, Max Brosemer, Yes, who
took a knee to end argame The end the second.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Quarter of our game, before one armed Carson Wentz did
the unthinkable nightmare. Did Herbstreet ever apologize? Herbstreet was killing
crushing the guy who he didn't have an arm.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
He didn't have an arm. I think you should apologize.
That's just me, all right.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
It is time, well before we do this, it's time
to acknowledge something very special, and that is the last
weekend Andrew Secil inducted into the Hall of Fame. We
have a hoff in our midst. Now I have a
bone to pick with you about what you did not.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Bring up the orange jacket.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
So it was my student radio station Hall of Fame.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
This isn't like, uh, go ahead and say, can we
have some of the names that are in this Hall
of fame.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
It's a very nice list, and I'm flattered to be included.
It's a veritable who's who.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
It's a veritable who's he as well, there's some people
on that wall that you're like, who the heck is
that guy?
Speaker 3 (27:26):
But that's not important right now.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
I was flattered. I did not get an orange jacket.
I did get like a trophy of paperweight kind of thing.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
I just think it needs to be suggested, Okay, how
cool to be if like when you guys all got together,
you had an orange jacket with like it and the letters.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
Joining the likes of Greg Papa yep uh, it's costas
to Rico, Marv Albert YadA, YadA YadA. Ted Copple McDonough
was buying drinks anyone even there.
Speaker 4 (27:58):
One of my buddies texted Seawan saying, hey, we're at
the var Sean's like, hey, sorry, I can't make it.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
He's there.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
We're at Varsity right now, a big restaurant right off
campus on M Street. And he's all right, well, like,
you know, I'll buy a picture. I think my buddy
sent Sewn a bigger bill. And Sean went on the
halftime of the basketball game Monday night and basically said.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
That I got the bill, I got the Venmo. That
was not a picture. It was more than a picture.
That's good. That was good. That's good. It was an
amazing weekend.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
It's a great way to spend him by. It was
like a reunion week and saw some saw some old
friends I'm not seen in twenty years.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Fantastic.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
I think you know that you've really made it. When
they schedule the induction around your bye week.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Okay, So it was me and Papa going in and
my buddy Saga. And the reason we did it this
weekend is because A, the Browns are off, and b obviously,
for those who don't know, Papa is the voice of
the Niners.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
He is he doing that?
Speaker 4 (28:51):
He's okay, he appeared via zoom. He's fighting, was waiting
for a bone marrow transplant from his sister. The Niners
were in the Meadowlands Life last week to play the Giants,
and so the way they mapped it out was, I'm off,
Papa's gonna be in New York anyway, east coast, this is.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
What we're gonna do. Unfortunately, Papa obviously could not be there,
but it wasn't niceless. It's very nice.
Speaker 4 (29:12):
Yeah, I'm flattered, I'm touched on move im honored.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
All right, Well, we are honored to be back playing
football this Sunday in New Jersey against the Jets. And
it is time now to meet the Jets, presented by
Vivid Seats, an official fan experience partner of the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
And for that we turn to this.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
Oh me, I'm doing it. I was gonna go, doctor
z oh you want me to meet this right now?
Speaker 2 (29:39):
I'll give you a little bit and then I'm gonna
give you this all right. One and seven on the season,
they coming off, they're coming off. There only was the
year they give me some traveling music here. One and
seven fourth in the FC East. There one win coming
over the Cincinnati Bengals. Now they were on their bye
last week as well. Aaron Glenn is the head coach
one and seven, first year as head coach. Previously was
(29:59):
the DC and a previously a DBAT coach here with
the Cleveland Browns. The series record Browns lead sixteen and
fourteen all time, including the postseason. Last meeting, the Browns
won thirty seven to twenty in Cleveland on December twenty eight,
twenty twenty three.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
What a glorious knight that was.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Oh yes, you and I and the hof hanging late
cigars after the guitars.
Speaker 3 (30:20):
Glorious. Yeah, that was glorious city to you and Jim
in the stands. The city was a buzz. Yes.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
Their last game, as I mentioned before, they beat the
Bengals thirty nine to thirty eight. They were on a
bye last week. League rankings offense twenty fifth overall number
three rushing offense thanks to Breze Hall and Justin Fields,
thirty second passing offense, defense twentieth overall, people saying they
just tore down like the fifth ranked defense in the
league mistaken defense twentieth overall, twenty sixth rushing eleventh, passing
(30:47):
turnover differential minus nine, worse than the NFL. Despite the
fact that Justin Fields has not thrown an interception.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
He has not thrown a pick and last week or
two weeks ago because before the bye he played a
game in which they were ACKed up five hundred yards
of offense.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
That's right, and he.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
Did not get hit, didn't get hit and again did
not get hit. Justin Fields did not get hit. You
want to talk about how bad the Bengals were last
week and blowing that game the week before, they did
not hit Justin Fields at any point in the entire game.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Yeah, without Trey Hendrickson, they've got nothing. Uh, Miles Garrett
had five saxons last game.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
So and wasn't the player.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Here's what's crazy about them though. Against the AFC North,
they are averaging thirty five and a half points per game.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
Is that good? Yeah? That is good.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
So they have seventy one points in two games against
the AFC North. Against the rest of the league, let's
see thirty seven, fifty eight, seventy eighty seven points in
their other six games. They have seventy one and two
games against the AFC North and eighty seven in the
other six games. They've also given up haha, thirty six
(32:03):
points a game of the AFC woth. So this should
be an offensive bonanza for Tommy Reese and the Cleveland
Brown threw.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
A curveball act you. Everyone assumes it's going to be
Justin Fields.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
He played well last week. It's got to be Justin
b Lynch.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
But remember going into the week the owner flat out
said I don't want him playing anymore.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
Why it's the crazy that is because he said it.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
It's absurd he said it. I know he did. It's absurd.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
And then Yesterfield was crying in his closet, very vulnerable.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
I have a lot of I have a lot of
I love yes.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
And then Aaron Glenn came out Monday or Tuesday, I'm
losing track of days. Monday, yeah, and wouldn't tell you
the quarterback is going to be stop playing games.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
What if it actually is Tyrod, and I don't think
it is. I think it's justin field. What's the point.
There is no point. There is no point.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
But if you're trading away all your key pieces, not
an offense though, Brice Hall and Garrett Wilson.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
Not a male.
Speaker 4 (32:59):
Okay, well, I'm not gonna trade Garrett Wilson Breese Hall.
I would have traded if I were them. Either pay
him or you don't.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
That's because I both have some Isaiah Davis.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
Sty I do have Isaiah Davis stock on my fantasy team,
which no one cares about.
Speaker 3 (33:09):
By the way, well nobody cares about your fantasy team.
Like water cooler talk.
Speaker 4 (33:13):
Oh man, if I only got that one more reception
fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
Young Gabriel, you care right about how the He doesn't
look at me because he knows what my answer is.
This is great fantasy team.
Speaker 4 (33:29):
I love fantasy football. But you're a golfer, so maybe
this is the wrong thing to talk about. But like
on Monday morning, oh man, if I had too much club,
I had too much club. Ah, if they hadn't reversed
that call at the end of that meaningless Monday night.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
You had me until you brought up I'm sorry I digress.
Speaker 4 (33:51):
I also have stock in Isaiah Davis because I thought
Britese Haaull was gonna get there.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
I know we would have liked that.
Speaker 4 (33:56):
Maybe the owner tells him to play Tyride or to Rod.
I've heard of both, raising fine, yes, good listen. The
Browns are two and zero against Justin Fields. They've sacked
him twelve times in two games, nine of them in
his first start when he was a member of Chicago Bears.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Both those games actually with the Bears. Hi Rod one
of the nicest guys of all time.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
To Rod, love him, great guy, love him, great guy.
He's thrown three picks, by the way, just Field zero.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
I'd rather play Tyrod, wouldn't you? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (34:21):
A thousand percent?
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Okay, it's gonna be just one million percent?
Speaker 2 (34:24):
Okay Fields by the way, this year sixty four percent collusion,
not a lot of yards. Thousand and eighty nine, five touchdowns,
no picks. He has run effectively as he always does,
two hundred and eighty eight yards and three touchdowns. Let's
not forget that he had that thousand yard rushing season
a few years ago.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
There.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
His numbers are so much better than I think people
give him credit for. And all, he's really done. I mean,
he hasn't won here. He certainly won in Pittsburgh last year.
But there are a lot of reasons why they're not
winning with the Jet the Jets so far this year.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
But yeah, I'll take toront Taylor. That'd be just fine
with me.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
Justin Fields holds the ball for an hour, he does
all right, and he didn't go and didn't get touched.
He didn't get to because the Bengals can't get there.
The Bengals had weekend, no pass rush whatsoever. The Crowns
can get there, and that's how this game is certainly
different than two weeks.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
Yeah, Bresall, he's their leading rusher five hundred and eighty
one yards, two touchdowns, averaging a robust five yards carry.
Not as good as Isaiah Davis six point four yards
of carry, just saying. Garrett Wilson has not played in
two games and is still their leading receiver basically in
every category thirty six catches, three and ninety five yards,
four touchdowns, does not have a one hundred yard game.
He has one thousand yards receiving in each of his
(35:30):
first three seasons in the NFL. Mason Taylor, their second
rounder the out of LSU son of Jason Taylor, sees
second on the team with twenty nine catches two hundred
and forty two yards. He scored his first touchdown last week,
So that's Bresall. Sorry from Bresall, who also yeah, in
addition to what he's done as a runner, has a
is one of one for four yards and a touchdown throwing.
(35:50):
The football defense has been good against the run, but
they have not or they have not been great against
the run. They've been okay, they truly I am being
great defense at all, three hundred and thirty five yards
a game, twenty seven point six points per game. They
don't sack the quarterback just eleven of those, giving up
one hundred and thirty five point eight yards per game
on the ground. So they have not been very good
(36:12):
really in any respect. Here a lead against the run?
Is that from young Gabriel? Well, Quinn is gone. Now
Quinn is gone. Are the Jets a leader against the run?
Speaker 3 (36:24):
On Gabriel, he says they're third in the league. Maybe
they are, then maybe they are a leader against the run.
We'll see. We'll have to check that. I overuse elite.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
I do do as well. They haven't been a great defense,
is the bottom line.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
Yes they are.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
Now they're twenty sixth rushing defense, Gabriel, they're third rushing offense.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
Oh oh, there we go. That's okay, we caught it.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Let's good for Quinn Sean Judkins. Let's go Browns. You
know what I'm curious about? Yep, No, it's actually well, okay,
what's the crowd like? Because they they're a one win team.
They just traded two of their biggest name players, one
of whom fans have jerseys, right, yeah, sometimes, I mean
there are some Quinn jerseys out there, but there are
a lot of Sauce Gardner jerseys.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
And now he was just learning how to play golf correct.
And it could be raining by the way packer gear.
I think it will be right, Okay.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
So it's gonna be raining.
Speaker 4 (37:18):
They have one win and they just traded half the team.
So yeah, what's the children. What's the crowd like?
Speaker 2 (37:28):
I think it's gonna be hostile. I know some people
who are going from a Brown standpoint, okay, hostile yeah,
up against the Jets, I think that they will be
vociferous in there. I think Fireman AD's gonna have a
tough time getting those chants going.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
At least he'll be wearing a hat to protect himself
from the rain. Yes, smart, like water off at Duck's back.
You've got to go. You have big, important things to do.
I'm good. Are you good? I mean, or do you
want to go? I mean as think as long as
we get him out here in the next couple of minutes,
we're good.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
All right, We'll say this defense I mentioned not a
lot of sacks leaders Will McDonald with three of them.
They're leading tackler, Jamie Sherwood, he has seventy five tackles.
Jowan Briggs, former Brown who we sent there having a
heck of a year. Two sacks. Those are the only
two sacks of his career. Three tackles for lost, four
quarterback hits and a force fumbledix games. Yeah, Jwan Bricks,
(38:16):
very strong guy at Cincinnati, was very strong at the combine.
Big on the bench press, not orson Charles, big on
the bench press, but very strong player about that. Yeah,
spend some time here with the Clevelands, very strong combine.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
Think he did like he had set the record for
a while. I believe it's been broken. I can't believe
Gibbe tweeted from his un what did he do?
Speaker 4 (38:37):
From the from the the clown account calling me a
crud again?
Speaker 2 (38:41):
You know that is the clown is not Gibbeck. Clown
is anti Gibbeck. But that's not nice.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
Iron Yeah, that would be the three D Chess. If
Gibbe actually ran that account.
Speaker 3 (38:55):
I don't know if he's I don't I don't know
if that, I don't know. I liked it from the
Browns Daily account though, Okay.
Speaker 5 (38:59):
You.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Unbelievable, all right, wor what an absolute treat to have
you here. This is second time we've talked to a
Hall of Famer this week alone, folks, CBD, that's where
it's at.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
Change the letters to hof Daily. You're hysterical.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
I mean that, like, I thank you kind.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
Of Joe Thomas from a movie set, Yeah, what's he doing?
He was apparently apprehending bad guys.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
Not eating food late at night. That's been sitting out
for multiple days, and he's shooting that in La Vegas, Vegas, baby,
and now he's on his way to barely Is he
an action hero?
Speaker 2 (39:36):
He is an action hero, I believe. I don't know
how he's got lines. So he's an action hero. I think
that he is. Off's a man of action. He's not
a hurry up and wait, stand around type of a guy.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
And I think movie making.
Speaker 4 (39:50):
Is a lot of Oh it's awful. Yeah yeah, So
I don't know anything with a camera, you sit around
a weight.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
I don't know that if he's going to be, you know,
the next I think he's got the potent la potensi
a to be the next you know, Rock or Dave
Batista or John China.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
But I don't know if he will do that. Do
you say China?
Speaker 2 (40:08):
Yeah, that's how Santino Morell used to say his name.
He mispronounced his names on purpose. Not I did that intentionally,
unlike the promotion for the Big First Big Event on
the ESPN streaming network, where they absolutely butchered as they
did oh yeah, ok, they clearly did not watch wrestling.
But John c is also a movie star. He's also
the peacemaker. That's how he's in a big show. So
(40:30):
there's this in movies.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
And he used to do what did they say, Senna.
Speaker 4 (40:33):
Senna, Yeah, Senna John like Ayrton Senna.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
Former Yeah, Formula one. Yeah that was brutal? Was that lev?
Was it? Steve Levy. I don't know. It was, uh yeah, Fowler, Fowler.
That's amazing. Yeah, now there's a big show. It's a
John Senna.
Speaker 4 (41:00):
I had one of those on NFL Network during a
Bowl game a couple of years ago. We were doing
the one of college All Star games and we were
teasing the halftime show or some kind of Super Bowl
week entertainment and I tried, and I don't remember what
it was.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
I could google it.
Speaker 4 (41:14):
I tried to say the name of whatever the act was,
and I got it horribly wrong, and Maurice Jones Drew
just lost his mind laughing on the air, and I
have no idea.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
What it was. I'm like, how, how on earth do
you say that?
Speaker 2 (41:28):
Well, then that means that you and Chris Rose have
both made Maurice Jones Drew laugh uncontrollably.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
Chriss was much much. Because you're in the booth, it's
not on camera.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
You just heard him.
Speaker 4 (41:38):
He kind of like turned out, okay, right now, that
was on Chris was on cam that all time. That's
one of the in the Museum of Radio and TV.
Speaker 3 (41:44):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
I would like, well, you're gonna be in the museum
because you are a haff and now we bid you
ado good night, now, good night now, Doc Dress all
right when we come back, We're gonna hear from Vin
Sefanski at the podium earlier today.
Speaker 3 (41:58):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
It is dark sky. There is a lot of wind
that appears there are things are going on. We'll get Ghibbe,
our our local resident weather expert.
Speaker 3 (42:05):
On that.
Speaker 2 (42:06):
You're listening to Cleveland Browns Daily presented by Balily Betting,

Here's Brown's head coach comes to fancy from his availability
earlier today.
Speaker 7 (43:10):
Okay, back to work week Wednesday. Great opportunity in front
of US road game AFC opponent looking forward to the challenge. Obviously,
they're coming off of by just like us. They're coming
off a big win a couple of weeks ago. So
our focus is to play our best on the road
and find a way to get a victory. That's our challenge.
We're trying to learn from some of the things we
(43:32):
spent time with over the by on offense, defense and
special teams and apply some of those learnings starting this week.
But with that, I'll take any questions.
Speaker 8 (43:41):
With the big trades that the Jets made yesterday, needed
some big piece on defense, how much does that change
the offensive game plan.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
For you guys?
Speaker 7 (43:49):
Yeah, it doesn't change. I mean they got good players.
I have a ton of respect for Steve Wilkes, for
Aaron Glenn. They do a very good job of trying
to keep you off balance and the things they do
from a front and coverage stand point.
Speaker 9 (44:00):
So they have a bunch of good players. We have
to play our best.
Speaker 10 (44:03):
Schador is going to be practicing today. Will he be
back as your QB two this week?
Speaker 7 (44:08):
He'll be limited today, Mary kay, so see, I need
to see how he responds. Obviously he's pushing very hard
in rehab, but need to see how he does over
the next couple of days.
Speaker 11 (44:19):
You're good to announce, you would, who's going to play
quarterback for him?
Speaker 9 (44:23):
What kind of what does that do to you?
Speaker 3 (44:25):
Guys?
Speaker 5 (44:25):
Do you have to.
Speaker 3 (44:26):
Prepare for to guy?
Speaker 7 (44:27):
Yeah, obviously, two different players, but they're both good in
their own right. I mean, justin Fields is extremely dangerous,
very very very fast. They've done a great job in
the run game. He's a threat to make all the
throws with his arm strength in the past game, and
then he kentucking and run. As you've seen throughout this season,
he's made some huge plays with his legs. Obviously, to
(44:48):
Rodd's a veteran that knows what to do with the football,
very accurate, good athlete you know, can make you miss
obviously as he moves outside the pocket, but a veteran
that that really operates well.
Speaker 9 (45:00):
So you know, I have to be prepared for both guys.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
I do you think the buy regenerated your guys for
this last half of the season.
Speaker 7 (45:09):
Yeah, I think the bye week, regardless of where it comes, Jeff,
you have to recharge, and I think our guys did that. Obviously,
have a nine game season coming up here after eight
in the book, So I have to make sure that
they're ready in mind, body and spirit for the run.
Speaker 10 (45:26):
You have a charge going forward for these last nine games.
For Dylan, I mean, have you given him sort of
some mandates or instructions on what you need to see
from him to elevate his game.
Speaker 7 (45:37):
I wouldn't put it that way, Mary Kay, other than
to say, we have a lot of things that we
need to do better offensively in total, quarterback position, every position, coaching,
you name it. So those are you know, going back
to the bye week, you try to study and learn
some things and try to make sure that we as
coaches are putting our guys in the best position to succeed.
Speaker 9 (45:58):
And certainly that would count the quarterback as well.
Speaker 12 (46:01):
A lot about self evaluation coming out of the buy
What do you think after evaluating.
Speaker 3 (46:06):
Your team, where do you think you guys see and
what did you get out of that?
Speaker 5 (46:10):
Well?
Speaker 7 (46:11):
I think you don't wait till the buye to look
at yourself from a scout standpoint. You're constantly doing a
self scout. It does give you an opportunity, though, after
eight games, to really look at it from a bunch
of different angles, whether it's the personnels, you're using, the schemes,
you're using more. You can go on a deeper dive,
if you will. You can go on a deeper dive
(46:32):
on what other teams are doing, what teams are doing
to you, those type of things, so you learn a lot.
I think it's really important and what their coaches did
a nice job with. I think it's important to take
all those learnings and then condense them down into some
action items, into the big bullet points, if you will,
As opposed to trying to account for every single thing
you've learned.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
You really wait to team going.
Speaker 12 (46:55):
Into the trade headline.
Speaker 4 (46:57):
Outside of the one move yesterday, a lot of guys
that have speculated that could potentially.
Speaker 3 (47:04):
Be moved are still here. Do you think that that
can help give in.
Speaker 4 (47:10):
Jackson life and its team as well, now that that
is passed and this is the team going forward.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
Making all focus.
Speaker 9 (47:16):
Yeah, I understand the question, Darrel.
Speaker 7 (47:17):
I don't know how much guys spend time thinking about
those type of things. I know it's speculative, and I
know there's you know, plenty of news outlets that cover
those type of things, and that's what you have to do,
But our guys don't spend much time on that. We
kind of keep our focus where it is. And so
that's the sense I've gotten from the guys.
Speaker 13 (47:37):
The time of the draft, both you and Andrews said of
Dylan Gabriel that his hype that didn't show up a
college game. Do you think it's showing up now? I
mean it's inability to get the vault of the receivers.
Speaker 7 (47:49):
Yeah, I understand the question, Tony, but I would not
characterize it that way. We need to play better as
an offense. Certainly there's areas to improve for a young quarterback,
but it's really on all of us to improve.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
We got it, Kevin.
Speaker 8 (48:06):
With Tommy obviously now taking over play calling duties in
terms of the game plan, does he get more latitude
in terms of just that change.
Speaker 6 (48:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (48:13):
I do think it's important with a play caller that
you have a call sheet of plays that you're really
comfortable with. So, certainly this week, making sure Tommy's got
the quote unquote final say, I'm letting him kind of
put this thing together. Obviously I'm helping and making my suggestions,
but I want him to feel comfortable and confident with
what's on that call sheet.
Speaker 11 (48:35):
Dylan, how do you think the buyer can help a
rookie quarterback, especially coming off.
Speaker 3 (48:38):
What was a difficult game.
Speaker 5 (48:39):
Point.
Speaker 7 (48:41):
Yeah, I think these bye weeks and are an opportunity
for everybody just to get your breath. Obviously, young quarterback
has had some interesting starts, whether it was you know,
international or on the road.
Speaker 9 (48:53):
And some tough places.
Speaker 7 (48:55):
We have to play better as an offense, and certainly
you know Dylan is a big part of that, and
making improvements coming off the buy is important operationally different
when you're not calling the place in some ways, yes,
but again I think it's my job. Like I've told
you guys before, I want to try to set people
(49:15):
up for success, regardless of what their role is. So
if Tommy's role is changing a little bit, I need
to do my part to help him out.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
See that.
Speaker 10 (49:24):
With Tommy coming out of the college ranks recently, might
that be beneficial for both of your rookie quarterbacks knowing
that he sort of has.
Speaker 14 (49:32):
That collegey guy.
Speaker 7 (49:35):
I think it's probably a good question asked Tommy Mary Kay.
I think Tommy's got the right way about him with
veterans and young players, But certainly to your point, when
you're in the collegiate game. There's things that are different
about the game, so it does help to as you
explain certain concepts or the way defense is played, do
you think there's value in that.
Speaker 13 (49:54):
Give Tommy's final sayer on plays?
Speaker 3 (49:58):
Does that mean I'll have final say on whether to
go for it on.
Speaker 9 (50:03):
No?
Speaker 3 (50:04):
Uh more.
Speaker 7 (50:06):
As editor in chief, we put it that way. When
you're putting a game plan together. At the end of
the day, I get final say. We all know that,
but I wanted to make sure he's comfortable with what
we're as we put the plan together.
Speaker 3 (50:17):
The game.
Speaker 6 (50:18):
Obviously, Quinnchun's been fine, but it seems like it's a
struggle with Dylan and even Jerome a little bit. I mean,
given any thought to rocket using him, you know, getting
him some carries.
Speaker 9 (50:31):
Yeah, we like the guys we have.
Speaker 7 (50:32):
Obviously every week you're looking at different pairings that you
may have available to you with the inactives, But we
like the guys we have. We have to do our job,
like I said before, in the schemes and setting our
guys up for success.
Speaker 5 (50:47):
I have the same as the foot is he how
for the week?
Speaker 3 (50:49):
Is this the long term?
Speaker 7 (50:50):
We'll see how it goes the next couple of days. Okay,
thanks guys.
Speaker 2 (50:54):

Speaker 15 (52:28):
Now obviously you know, ready to go, ready in action,
So I'm excited.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
I mean a lot has happened in the last basically
it's five weeks because you had the four weeks plus
the bye week to get back here.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
Just kind of take us through, you know what.
Speaker 2 (52:40):
Happened in Detroit and kind of the process to get
you back here and get you ready today.
Speaker 15 (52:45):
Yeah, obviously, unfortunately kind of got hurt the Lion's game,
little hammy issue. You know, I was always upset about that.
But you know, four or five weeks later, now back
back out there. I'm ready to get my all.
Speaker 3 (52:58):
Yeah, we're ready to have you back.
Speaker 2 (52:59):
Listen, You're two touchdowns you had in the first four
games still tied for the team league, so you know,
obviously had some successor but you only played with Joe Flacco. Yeah,
and now Dylan Gabriel the quarterback. Were you able to
get some work with him throughout the offseason and and
kind of what's that been, Like, how do you guys
get on the same page.
Speaker 15 (53:15):
Yeah, you know, me and Dylan kind of already had
a little relationship before he got here, so you know,
obviously we had the reps during camp and stuff like that. So,
you know, first time playing with Dylan in a game.
So I'm excited for you know, or both young players
with something to prove.
Speaker 3 (53:28):
So I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (53:30):
Yeah, and for you, like, it just feels like it's
been kind of like this run of bad luck a
little bit right when you get going, you know, if
you think about it, you go back to kind of
the three games where you got hurt, last year he
had the touchdowns and all the yards and catches two
touchdowns and basically three games this year as well.
Speaker 3 (53:44):
You do feel like you're on the.
Speaker 2 (53:46):
Cusp if you can just kind of string together these
final nine of really kind of asserting yourself.
Speaker 3 (53:51):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 15 (53:52):
You know, my focus is on winning, obviously, and I
want to help the team do that.
Speaker 3 (53:57):
So I'm gonna do everything I can. Promise.
Speaker 15 (54:00):
I can't down on the field these last nine games
and be dominant.
Speaker 3 (54:03):
How hard has this been? Mentally? It's been hard, you know.
Speaker 15 (54:06):
Uh, you know, miss kind of last year with the
same thing and come back you know this year and
in the beginning kind of get nicked up again too.
So you know, I'm just as frustrated, you know, maybe
some of you guys else, but you know, I think
I can say on the field and get them all
all right.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
So we mentioned the change. There was a change obviously quarterback.
You have been playing with Joe Flacco. Now it's going
to be Dylan Gabriel. Also a change at the play caller.
Tommy Reese is now going to be calling the plays.
What changes, if anything, for you guys when the play
caller changes, Really.
Speaker 3 (54:36):
For me, I guess it's just about executing. You get
what I'm saying.
Speaker 15 (54:40):
So it's just like to play a caller whoever the
play calling is. You know, we got to execute as
players at the end of the day. So with me,
I'm gonna just try to lock in on what I
need to do and whatever play is called execute.
Speaker 2 (54:54):
Have you seen just even in Monday or is you're
getting ready and going through the walk throughs, have you
seen like anything different You're like, oh, this feels a
little bit different with Tommy calling the place.
Speaker 15 (55:03):
You know, Tommy definitely has you know and not saying
coach Thefanski doesn't, but you know, coach Tommy definitely has
his own swagger and stuff like that. So you know
it's the same routine and stuff. But definitely you can
coach coach Tommy. He's gonna put us in a good
position to be successful.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
It's just like about what's it like to get back.
Speaker 2 (55:19):
I mean, you've been in the locker room every season
to get your rehabit and everything, but it's different when
you're in the locker room because you're gonna go play.
Has that been something that's just great to kind of
get back in there and be like, all right, now
you're back with the guys hanging out. You're on the
same schedule as the guys. You're not on the rehab schedule.
How great's happened?
Speaker 5 (55:35):
Now?
Speaker 3 (55:35):
It feels really good, you know. The competitor.
Speaker 15 (55:37):
I mean, I hate, you know, watching the games on Sunday,
having to see my brothers out there.
Speaker 3 (55:41):
You get what I'm saying.
Speaker 15 (55:42):
So it's just like whatever, now that I'm back, I'm
gonna give them one hundred and ten percent for my
brothers and for the organization.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
Right, so you were in the mix. You also got
to watch a little bit. How do we get this
downfield Passingham going? I think that's what you're smiling already,
because that's what everybody's talking about, right, How do you
get the ball down the field? Get it going vertical?
These teams, you know, we have not had a lot
of twenty plus yard places. We haven't had a forty
plus yard pass play yet this year. How do we
get that going?
Speaker 3 (56:08):
You know? Obviously the political it was that easy to answer.
Speaker 15 (56:11):
Obviously, the political answer is, you know, oh, I've been
saying to execute, but shoot, honestly, we just got to
throw the ball and we got to catch the ball
as receivers. So quarterback throw it to us, and receiver
we catch the ball, old line block and there we go.
Speaker 2 (56:23):
So have you've been kind of like, when you're kind
of out, are you thinking about man, when I get
back out there, have you been thinking about this game
in New York for a while.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
Absolutely, I've been thinking about it.
Speaker 15 (56:32):
Just whoever we play, obviously is New York, but just
when I got back out there, just a hunger that
I had at the beginning of the season, and then
even I didn't think there could be possibly any more
chips on my shoulder, but even the chip on my
shoulder now definitely want to show what we can do
as an offense too, but what I can do individually.
Speaker 3 (56:51):
Now you know.
Speaker 2 (56:52):
And we're taking one game at a time, one day
at a time, one practice time, one rap at a time,
so you're not looking at this is me, I'm doing it.
The second game that you'll be back for it is
the Ravens at home, which, obviously, if you think about
last year when you played the Baltimore Ravens at home,
that was kind of your coming out party. A couple
of touchdowns, the big walk off, an emotional one, we're
still thinking about Jim Donovan. That was kind of such
an emotional game. There is that one where you think about, man,
(57:15):
you know, I'm excited to play that one, get in
front of the home fans again and play that one,
and I know your focus. This is me, This is
me asking about the Ravens game. Me to not bring
it up, but this is me asking you about that.
Speaker 15 (57:24):
Yeah, I'm excited. Yeah, I'm gonna be honest. Yeah, I'm excited.
Obviously look forward to the Jets and stuff like that,
but uh, we're looking forward to the Jets, but the
Raves and rival opponents. So in the back of my mind,
not too much in the back of my mind obviously,
want to get that get back.
Speaker 2 (57:38):
How important is it to kind of to get that
first catch, get that first hit, like just to get
into the flow of the game when you come back,
because one of the things we've talked about is, you know,
with the receivers, sometimes it's been a quarter before receivers
even get targeted or get the ball in their hands.
How important is it for you to get back, feel
that contact and just kind of be like, Okay, now
I'm just playing football again.
Speaker 15 (57:58):
Yeah, I think it's important, you know, but just being
out there, you know, kind of get in contact rather
it's to a run play or plass player whatever. I
think that will help me out too. So obviously I'm
a receiver, I want the ball, but you know, whenever
it comes to me, you know, I'm I'm gonna catch
and make some plays.
Speaker 3 (58:12):
Is there something too that did you play hoops as
a young guy? I played a little bit of hoops?
Speaker 2 (58:16):
Yeah, okay, So like when you're a scorer, you want
to get the ball in your hands early, see the
ball go through the net and that helps you kind
of just naturally get into the rhythm of the game.
Is the same thing kind of true with the receiver,
Like just get a catch and then like that gets
you kind of going.
Speaker 3 (58:27):
Yeah, for sure to a certain extent.
Speaker 15 (58:29):
You know, obviously as a receiver, it always feels good
to you know, kind of get the ball early on.
But you know, my job is to catch the ball,
you know, whenever no rain, sleet, snow. Third fourth quarter,
so I just gotta be ready.
Speaker 2 (58:40):
Have you been taking this time to think about another
since you've getten the end zone quite frequently recently. Another
touchdown celebration we thought of anything. Do you have anything
you're ready to roll out in New York?
Speaker 3 (58:49):
Of course?
Speaker 2 (58:50):
Of course, of course, So that was is that part
of like the rehabit what keeps it light for you?
Speaker 15 (58:56):
Yeah, you know it's obviously I know it's funny games,
but uh, you know, just trying to bring a little
excitement to the game. Obviously, do my job first, That's
what I'm locked in on. But you know, nothing wrong
with having a little fun.
Speaker 2 (59:06):
Absolutely not when you swam all you guys put into
this game and everything you go through physically and mentally
and all of it, when you get into the end zone,
which is the ultimate goal, I think you should be
able to do whatever you want. It's not crazy penalties, right,
Well we saw that. I'm sure did you guys get
that in the meeting already? After what Rico Dubdell did,
which he thought that, yeah, I make it in the meeting, Pumps.
Speaker 3 (59:29):
I'm sure.
Speaker 15 (59:30):
I'm sure coach will talk about it here soon. For sure,
he talks about us. He talks about it all the time.
So for sure, I'm sure.
Speaker 2 (59:35):
Well, set is great to see you, welcome back and
excite you get out there and help this football team.
Helped this pass the game and as you said, that
ultimate gold get some wins.
Speaker 3 (59:43):
Absolutely all right, thank you, all.

one with him here. I think you've go only maybe once.
I don't know if you have, because he's had other obligations. Yes, yes, no,
we had like a couple weeks in a row where
we were rolling. Browns fans joined us to night to Makefield. Sunday,
November sixteenth and four to twenty five is the Browns
(01:01:15):
take on the Baltimore Ravens for our Salute to Service celebration.
We're probably honoring our military heroes throughout the game. Locking
your seats today at Browns dot com slash Ravens all right,
time now.
Speaker 3 (01:01:26):
To guess the scores? You administering this? Give up? I
am my friend right here we go away the magic numbers?
What we got? Four teams on by so we got one, two, three, four,
should have fourteen games fourteen games May with magic numbers eight.
Here we go. Well, the good news is we start
(01:01:46):
off with Thursday night football. I don't know if I'm
staying up for this one. Broncos hosting the Raiders. Now
Kirk and Kayley. I wonder who Kirk will pick on
this week. We're gonna see how my uh my strategy.
Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
I'm gonna guess only whole numbers, and I think that's
gonna be helpful here.
Speaker 3 (01:02:05):
I'm going Broncos minus ten. Well, that works, Broncos minus
nine and a half. There we go h to Sunday
and early football again. By the way, it's like the
anniversary of the Berlin Wall coming down. There's there's a
big like moment before kicking this one. Oh, we've got
(01:02:27):
We've got football Sunday morning while we're at MetLife Stadium
waiting for our game to begin. Falcons visiting the Colts.
Adam Amen on the call, Kurt Warner go back overseas, kurlts.
I mean, how many times does Kurt Warner got to
do this? He always doesn't do I think Stacey Dale's
going over as well for Falcons and Colts. Colts minus seven,
(01:02:50):
Colts minus six and a half. This is a it's
a game changer. This is going a lot better for you.
It's only two. Let's just relax here. Segment might become
a dud. That's really retiring this segment Sunday in the
one o'clock slot. Giants visiting Chicago, Fox Joe Davis, Gregils
(01:03:12):
and Pam Oliver. Giants Bears in the eighties, a Titan matchup.
This feels Vegas zoned to me. Bears minus five, Bears
minus four and a half. Let's go. That was a
tough one too. That's a good one. Yeah, they wanted
you to go big on that. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
I wasn't gonna go big, no, but I liked what
I wanted you to No, I know you did.
Speaker 5 (01:03:33):
All right. Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:03:35):

Speaker 2 (01:04:08):
When you don't like what I'm doing, well, there's first
of all, I can no no hold on, you don't
like over unders.
Speaker 3 (01:04:15):
You'd like to tweak those. Guess who's winning those every week?
Speaker 5 (01:04:18):
Me?
Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
I haven't tweaked anything with this. I know you're encouraging
the tweaking of what over unders. Yeah, olvers, some tweaking. Yeah,
there you go. That's exactly what I'm saying. Uh, Ratbirds
on the road in Minnesota on Fox, Kevin Coogler, Moose,

I know they weren't that impressive against Atlanta.
Speaker 3 (01:06:06):
But still and I don't know who's playing for Tampa Bay. Okay,
but Buccaneers favored by two and a half. Next NFC
South definitely a candidate for the Inmate Game of the Week.

Speaker 3 (01:07:08):
Texans minus one and a half. Let's go. Have you
already clinched?
Speaker 5 (01:07:12):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:07:13):
Seven and two? Though? All right, well you need one more?
To the four o'clock slate, we go. Seahawks back at
home taking on the Cardinals. Uh, Jacoby Brissett, is you're
starting quarterback? Kevin Harlan, Trent Green, Melanie Collins Because nothing
says two NFC teams playing like a CBS Late afternoon game.
(01:07:39):
That would be the Seahawks minus seven dog. That gets
you a win for the week. Oh baby, this is
his this was it was given to me. Oh man,
it was one of our listeners. Thanks for ruining the segment. Listener,
gott to see if I can hold mentions all. Let's say,
let's see if I can find this.
Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
They're like, it's always on half point, So just go
with whole numbers because when I all the times I
go half points, that means I have to get it
exactly on usually.
Speaker 3 (01:08:08):
So this is That's good.
Speaker 9 (01:08:12):
It's good.
Speaker 3 (01:08:15):
Now I keep going. Let's see if I find it
all right? Up next, this one will be a good one.
Kevin Burkhart, Tom Brady, Aaron Andrews, Tom Arnaldi. The Fox

four o'clock Slate.
Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
JR Shout out to JR says that Nathan Degardis was
on ten twenty nine, which was last Wednesday. I want
to see you succeed. Unlike Gibbon, every line now has
a hook on it. Guess even numbers. I'm playing guest scores,
so you get the hook above and below. If you
guess what the hook, you have to be exactly correct
to win.
Speaker 3 (01:09:11):
You're welcome. He's right, and the proof is in the
pudding right now.
Speaker 5 (01:09:14):
J R.
Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
We're gonna cancel the segment j for nothing, Yeah, JR.
Smart smart cat Lions at Commis, Lions Commis. I don't
know who's even playing for the comedies day Lions minus seven,
Lions minus eight and a half. That's that's a that's
almost an impossible one to get. Yeah, because I don't know.
(01:09:37):
I mean, you know, the QB's out, but like, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
See it's still it's eight and four right now. It's
not like it's nuts.
Speaker 3 (01:09:44):
You've already won. Sorry, I mean, good job. I don't
want to take it away from you, but like it
was over early kids.
Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
Good because maybe who knows how I'm gonna do on
last three. I don't have a great feel for.
Speaker 3 (01:09:58):
These prime time Sunday by the way, they were just
on Sunday Night football two weeks ago. Why why you're
running the squealers back? Between the Squealers and the commis,
you're gonna get a lot of average football to below average.
Yeah on national TV commies are I think they're on?
Are they on Christmas? I know they're on Thanksgiving? It's
too much. I think they're on both, well, Jade and Daniels,
(01:10:21):
I mean it's too much. Okay, time to start flexing
things out, kids. Steelers on the road in Los Angeles

Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
On the Chargers feels like Chargers Chargers minus three.
Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
Dog, Yeah, you really don't have a feel for it
minus two and a half. Jr. Coming through.
Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
I'm not gonna hit nearly as many exacts. In fact,
I might hit no exacts, but I don't need to.
Speaker 3 (01:10:49):
Maybe we need to tweak the rules. No Kitty exact
is insane. Dude, you have a pretty good feel for these.
Listen right now, we're you're a lot wins nine and four? Yeah,
just five yep, Monday Night Football, This one worth waiting
up for. Eagles on the road cheese beer Packers, Packers

a half.
Speaker 9 (01:11:25):
What oh all right?
Speaker 3 (01:11:30):
Nine and five, nine and five? Crazy?
Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
Is that a broken gay? That's that indicative of a
broken game?
Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
Not yet? Bengals, Cowboys, Titans and Chiefs all on the bye. Yeah,
so well done, Good job, my friend. Thank you very much, Gibbe.
I appreciate your support. Folks. I want you to do
this now. Why don't you want to be winning?
Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
Head to Meyer to scan the Hillshire Farms QR code
in the meat department until November eleventh for a chance
to win a swim for ten to the Steelers game

a couple remotes. Good call. Thank you for clarifying. That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
When is the last time that me and Monfrere did
a coaches show?
Speaker 3 (01:13:42):
Was it when you didn't have a voice or he
didn't have a voice, No.
Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
That was me but at Razzles. Actually, yeah, that was
in the middle of it. I think the last time
we did. I'm saying, what year, seventeen seventeen We might
have run one back, so I don't remember why all.
Speaker 3 (01:14:01):
After seventeen it kind of trickled down a little bit Okay, okay,
it sure did all right. Time to go, yes, oh,
injury report, yes, injury. What do you have from the
brown side of things today, Betonio with a little rest day.
(01:14:21):
We talked about it. Isaiah Bond DNP. Remember Bond got
hurt at the end of that Patriots game, Yeah, with
a foot injury. Yeah, and I remember him going to
the locker room and he never came back. So something
to watch as we as we come back here from
the break. Isaiah McGuire illness DNP, yep, Robinson illness DNP.
(01:14:49):
It's going around downstairs, I know, surrounded by illness. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
Well, if you're not on the fifty three and you're
that sick, you.
Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
Stay home, please please. Our guys. Swassenger as well, not practicing.
Miles Hardened with an ankle limited today. Okay, good news.
Campbell our corner full. Looks like he's back from his concussion.
Chandor Sanders limited. Cedric Tillman a full participant on the

Jets side of things, My phone keeps turning. Let's see big.
Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
The big story on the Jets side of it is
Garrett Wilson. Garrett Wilson was limited, so that looks like
he should be back this week.
Speaker 3 (01:15:34):
Yep. Everybody else a full participant, including Tarad Taylor maybe
the starting quarterback Sunday yep for the j E t
S Jets, Jets, Jets. All right, there you go.
Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
The quarterback who will lead the Browns against the Jets
from the podium presented by Vivid Seats. Purchase your official
fan Experience package today for the ultimate game Day. Browns
quarterback Dylan Gabriel.
Speaker 10 (01:15:56):
Can tell us what you think about Kevin Entry calling
over to Tommy and how do you think that might
change things up a little bit?
Speaker 5 (01:16:03):
Yeah, I think, uh hasn't really changed much in terms
of day to day, uh, just going about our business
that way. But uh, I think it'll be good. I
think it'd be good for the guys and uh, you know,
wanna get this thing going in the right direction.
Speaker 14 (01:16:15):
And do you think that that did that show you
guys that Kevin is willing to do whatever it takes,
even if he had to give up a short like that,
you know, to get you guys rolling.
Speaker 5 (01:16:25):
Yeah, I guess you could say so. I think he just, yeah,
coach Fancy really wants to win, and like you said,
he'll to do whatever it takes to to do that.
Speaker 3 (01:16:33):
You know, all the time of the couse was like
what does he bring?
Speaker 9 (01:16:36):
Does an offensive mind?
Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
Yeah? That you think it would be a good sport
of his office.
Speaker 5 (01:16:40):
You know. I think he's just he's eager, he's hungry,
he's got a lot of knowledge. I've I've been a
fan even from you know, back in college and seeing
what he's been able to do. But I think he
just utilizes players at a at a high level. And Uh,
but I think with everyone, it's all coming together. You know,
it's never one person. Uh, definitely, there could be times
of inspiration, shouldn't help in that way, but it's all
(01:17:02):
of us coming together, help each other out and coaches
a good leader for that. Ye killing when a receivers
having a season where he drops or a number of balls.
Speaker 11 (01:17:13):
Or Jordy Judy has how is that?
Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
Do you hesitate to throw who's in?
Speaker 5 (01:17:21):
No, you continue to go right back at it. We
believe in Jerry, believe in all our guys. Uh, and
we'll continue to attack that plays within the game, they happen,
you know what I mean, And you got to continue
to to work through them. But have ultimate belief in
Jerry and all our guys.
Speaker 14 (01:17:37):
Coming off do you look at as a fresh start.
Speaker 13 (01:17:40):
You know, the way you're doing.
Speaker 5 (01:17:44):
I think mentality wise, you kind of come off a
bye week trying to improve and look at where you
you could have been better, what your strengths and weaknesses
are and kind of look at both sides of those,
but definitely got to improve. And whether it's a fresh
start or just a new week, just keeping a one
week at a time. That's that's mentality and that's all
you got.
Speaker 13 (01:18:02):
Prior to the New England game, Tommy said, you gotta
make Dylan more comfortable throwing the ball downfield and then
through only eight pass or to receivers in New England.
So the question is are you uncomfortable.
Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
Growing gonna field.
Speaker 5 (01:18:17):
No. I think there's just a a mixture of things
that have to come together to to make that happen.
That's myself included. But uh, you know, like we've talked
about before, explosives, Uh, they got to happen. Uh. That's
there's certain categories within uh a game that you have
to win and explosives and uh, you know, being really
good on first and second down so that you're in
(01:18:39):
some third and manageables and uh moving the chain, sustaining drive,
so that'll all contribute to that. But uh no, uncomfortability,
like that's something that you know, we work on and
want to continue to empersisee. That's what he was.
Speaker 13 (01:18:50):
Talking about, being comfortable better first and second.
Speaker 5 (01:18:52):
Driving, Yeah, and just emphasizing that and trying to to
make those happen by just being fundamentally sound.
Speaker 8 (01:18:58):
Tell me how to.
Speaker 3 (01:18:59):
Buy you're kind of looking back at taping, so who
is the self evaluation you can too?
Speaker 5 (01:19:06):
Yeah, I think there's a lot to learn, there's a
lot to take in, but good things and and things
that you can learn from. But there there's got to
be a you know, a change within the process to
create a better outcome. And you know, I don't want
to stand up here and say the same thing, but
it's it's truth. You know, there's there's got to be
better fundamentals, and I think that's everyone coming together to
(01:19:27):
make that happen. But you know, you look at their downs,
you look at those categories, uh in where you can
just sustain drives and help yourself and then after turnovers,
trying to you know, convert those into points you can really.
Speaker 14 (01:19:40):
Be in the college, Right, do you feel like, you know,
you can kind of relate to look quarterbacks a lot
and also the quarterbacking yourself that the vibe about you
know what some of the concepts are that you'll feel
comfortable with.
Speaker 5 (01:19:59):
Yeah, I think it's a it's a mix. It's constant conversation.
I think, you know, everyone in the keep your room's
got a good head on their shoulders and knowledge of
you know, what it takes to go do it. And uh,
I think not only Tommy, but everyone in that room
definitely helps out as understanding of that.
Speaker 3 (01:20:15):
What has to happen now you had to buy had
a chance to maybe take a little head of a
deep rest step back. What has to happen though to
to get.
Speaker 5 (01:20:24):
This French rolling down? Yeah, progress, growth, creating chunk plays,
but then also just being efficient, you know and taking
the layups and doing that at a high level. So
I think when you do that fundamentally, you'll get you know,
opportunities good do what you want to do and have
positive yards. But uh, you know, you gotta you gotta
(01:20:46):
make the lamps and that's what we gotta do.
Speaker 14 (01:20:48):
Obviously, the two targets for Jerry in the Patriots game,
and I.
Speaker 4 (01:20:52):
Think Kevin's kind of given expressed that that he knows you.
Speaker 3 (01:20:55):
Guys got to get him going and getting him.
Speaker 5 (01:20:57):
More than that.
Speaker 14 (01:20:58):
Just how much of that priority have you guys see
that this week in terms of we're making sure he's
part of the game play.
Speaker 5 (01:21:05):
Yeah, try to continue to emphasize that, you know, that's
that's something we want to do. Jerry's really good. I
want to get uh the ball in two players hands
that are really good and let them go do their things. So, uh,
I just want to emphasize that, and we did it
throughout the year, but you know, I want to put
it a point of emphasis for sure.
Speaker 14 (01:21:23):
Do you feel like maybe the the Jets are.
Speaker 10 (01:21:26):
A little bit shaken or really by their two best
defensive players having gotten straighted away yesterday?
Speaker 5 (01:21:32):
What do you think you're heading into No, I think
they're they're still a great team. They got a bunch
of great players. That's why you're you're in this league
and you know they've they've played really well.
Speaker 11 (01:21:43):
Or do you think getting set back this week you
further ace court there's.
Speaker 3 (01:21:47):
The offensive general.
Speaker 5 (01:21:48):
Yeah, the more the merrier, But also just said, I
think he's a he's a good threat in multiple you
know ways of our offense. I think, uh in the
run and of the pass, and uh, I think with
anything said's a big part of what we do as well,
So having him back will be huge.
Speaker 10 (01:22:03):
Do you feel like having uh Tommy up in the
booth or on the sidelines.
Speaker 14 (01:22:07):
I'm not sure where he's gonna be yet, but does
it matter to you either way? Would you rather have
him with close.
Speaker 5 (01:22:12):
By to communicate like that or you know, I think
there's great conversation either way, but uh, it's kind of
preference uh of coach and you know, he'll do what
he's gotta do.
Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
When there was a change, like a couple more majors
of the season, is it fair to expect that there.
Speaker 7 (01:22:26):
Will be if like significant improvement, like what you know
kind of gives that up in terms of over tom
it's a fair to expect that, like you know, y'all
offense maybe can.
Speaker 5 (01:22:35):
Take off a little bit of Yeah, I think that's
uh probably motives behind change. But for the most part,
I think, like I said, it's not just one person,
it's all of us coming together, and uh there's a
lot of areas that uh we can all be better
and including myself and uh wanna make that happen. So, uh,
definitely good that you know you got a coach doing that.
Speaker 8 (01:22:53):
Do your first four starts was the most of the communication.
If you're having on the sideline contry us as happen
with the coach must grade or like do you you
can you get it?
Speaker 5 (01:23:00):
We do. Uh, we'll do it on the phone community
coach Muss and coach Swanski and then you know throughout
that that sideline with all positions.
Speaker 11 (01:23:09):
As well, so you can personally handle a game like
that PGS before the buy where the offense struggles and
you're personally right throw your first two interceptions?
Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
How do you processing?
Speaker 5 (01:23:19):
Yeah, it's part of it, you know, it's it's part
of the growth. It's it's something that you're gonna look
back on and and appreciate. But uh, in the moment, uh,
you wanna play at a certain level and you you
try to expedite the process of natural progression. But also
uh there's things that you gotta go through to to
learn and get better from. So things like that will
(01:23:40):
will make myself and everyone better, and uh that's why
I look forward to.
Speaker 12 (01:23:44):
So despite this offensive struggles, veterans like Joel and Wyatt
Haven adamantly been behind you. Yep, what do you What
have you done personally to you know, kind of make
that happen in terms of, you know, getting them the
follow you to despite everything. Yeah, not looking good right now.
Speaker 5 (01:24:03):
Yeah, I think it's the process. It's the work being prepared,
you know. I think that goes to show for vets.
You know, that's something I appreciated, even being a VET
in college and with young guys coming and prepared and
ready to work. So little things like that. But it's
also just being yourself and knowing who you are and
being confident in that. So that's all I can be.
(01:24:24):
Be myself, create you know, true relationships and we all
have a common go to go win games like that
doesn't get twisted or be a certain type offense. But yeah,
there's got to be growth and got to make that happen.
Speaker 2 (01:24:40):
There's got to be growth. We got to see this
offense be able to push the football down the field.
I mean that was pretty much the tenor of all
those questions directed at quarterback Dylan Gabriel as he's looking
to get his second win as the Brown starter here
in his fifth game against the New York jets.
Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:24:55):
We also had maybe a little bit more of a
lively press conference, and impromptu press conference was subject of
trade speculation and was not traded.
Speaker 3 (01:25:07):
So one of the beats went over and I just
wanted a quote from him, and he took that as uh, oh,
I'll come over to the podium, But the podium was
already done for the day, so Nijoku basically made his
own podium, if I'm correct. G Man getting overheted and
(01:25:27):
uh here's a little sample from that, cleaned up compliments
of Kevin Hardle. Of course, it's always a pussy doing man,
you know what I mean. But I'm I'm in Cleveland, baby,
I'm not going nowhere. I'm ever don't want to.
Speaker 5 (01:25:44):
No.
Speaker 3 (01:25:44):
Do you think you can work something out there? You're
here behind the show, I hope. So yeah. Do you
know if extension tagic started all or not?
Speaker 4 (01:25:50):
I can't say, David, why are you so passionate about
Cleveland being here?
Speaker 3 (01:25:56):
You don't see this right here? This is eighty five
with a Niger flag, but it's also the state of
ohioh You ain't see that? Huh, it's nice in it.
I'm so happy and I don't know how to put it.
I'm so happy. I'm serious. I found out the same
what you found out at four pm yesterday. I'm here, okay,
I plea Nope, not going anywhere Wall Street. You'll hear
(01:26:22):
it tonight on the On the Browns Previews show Whyatt
Teller sat down with Ken and Wyatt was pretty passionate,
you know. He he and his family, they've made a
home base. Yeah, and this is it's here, and he
doesn't want to go anywhere. He wants to retire a Brown.
He believes this, this can be turned around. He's seen
(01:26:43):
us win and he's like, you know, I want to
take that baton and I want to I want to
take the leadership role, you know, with whatever happens after
the season. I mean I think we all know, like
you know, Conklin's contracts up, and I think we can
all agree Joel's probably a year to year player right now.
You know if if Joel and it's gonna be on
Joel's terms, yep. So you know, I think Wyatt's the
(01:27:08):
one guy if you're looking at the offensive line that's like, hey,
I want to take that leadership and I want to
take that role. And it's a great interview. It'll air
tonight around seven to fifteen. Go to be sure, take
a listen.
Speaker 2 (01:27:21):
That's on the Cleveland Brown's preview show tonight Again tomorrow night,
Ken and I will be together again.
Speaker 3 (01:27:27):
Reunited and it will feel so good.
Speaker 2 (01:27:29):
From seven to eight for the Kevin Stefanski Show Live
from Razzles in Olmstead Falls. I expect to see lots
of the Gibbeis in attendance.
Speaker 3 (01:27:37):
I got a feeling there will be a there will
be a gathering, a gibe contingent. I don't know. Maybe
they will, maybe they won't. Every time I say that
and we go to Razzles, sometimes they don't come, or
they're playing volleyball outside, because somehow you're still playing volleyball
November outside. I think that those times have come, and
those times they are on the way out. My friends,
(01:27:59):
Winter is coming. I give it.
Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
You saw it. Snow expected Monday.
Speaker 3 (01:28:04):
How about Sunday night trying to get home, snow potentially
pitch black out there? Give me telling me to do
about it. I'm not the idiot lawmakers that can't turn
this around and get rid of this Daylight savings stuff.
