Let's start off twenty twenty five the right way. We
got a couple more shows and then that's it for
the weekly shows of Cowboys Storyline are the daily shows. Actually,
we will turn to weekly starting next week, right off
the bat, so we'll have kind of a scheduling right off.
At first, we'll have a couple of shows in the

first couple of weeks, but after that it's going to
be every Wednesday. I believe at nine to thirty we'll
get to go a full hour, maybe a little bit
more than that.

last year. It looks like it's just only going to
be one. But we'll try to go a little longer
than normals to get as many calls as we can.

We'll see who the starting quarterback is going to be.
They haven't announced that yet, even though it does feel

like it's going to be Trey Lance. Will Greer might
even get some snaps as well. Mike McCarthy said, three quarterbacks,
including Cooper Rush, we'll all get some work. He's not
saying who, but it does. It does seem like signs
are pointing towards Trey Lance getting that start and playing
that last game of the season against Washington. All Right,

Pro Bowl was announced this morning. Five players for the
Cowboys make it. I was a little surprised by that.
I thought it wouldn't be that many, but all five
seemed to be very deserving. Of course, Brandon Aubrey and
Cavante Turpin, those were the two for sure that I
thought would make it. And then Michaeh Parsons at Cede Lamb.

Wasn't sure how that was gonna work because they you know,
obviously missed some time.

And then Tyler Smith.

Once you get in as a guard and you're in,
it's it's gonna be tough to knock him off. So
that's a good thing for him. I look this up.
I thought this was impressive. Tyler Smith is one of
two or three guards now in the NFL history to
make the Pro Bowl twice before he turns twenty four.

Player made the Pro Bowl twice already, might make it

You know, you have seven inactive, so it's not like
you can sit everybody. This is not a preseason game
where you can have you know, you have ninety players
and all that. I mean, they're gonna have to play
some guys and and and they're gonna and they're gonna
try to win. They can get the sixth seed, which
at this point, I don't even know if that's better

or worse depends on who they play. Do they want
to play Philly? They may play Philly again, they may
play I mean I I would I would say you
wouldn't want the six seed because there's three teams that
are pretty good, and then after that there's a nice drop.
I think there's a decent drop to the next level
of the Bucks and Rams.

Sixth seed, that that's a much different game than playing
the two seed, which will probably be Philly or it
could be I guess Minnesota Detroit.

but my confidence is like, well, yeah, do you think
that do you think that the air has been knocked
completely out of us after that Philly game? Like, do

games go after four quarters and you keep turning the

deflate them to the point they're gonna go out, they're
gonna play hard again, and they're gonna try to finish
it off and now I don't think. I think they'll
try to sweep Washington and get to eight nine. That's
what I believe is gonna happen. Now, will they I

Yes, that you could. I mean, if you're asking if
it's possible, Yes, it's possible. I'm not saying he will
last I heard that and this wasn't even I don't
know if this is even something that that has been
like it's not reported or anything.

That they are working on something for him to return.
But he's gonna probably listen to other offers if if

what it would be. I'm sure you have to have
a plan in place that they might have you know

of that because if Will ever left he could take them.
He can take some. You know, he's gonna take some
people with him. That's just natural, the ones that he
wants to take.

that really can take it into the off season and

Yeah, that's that's an interesting question because there's gotten two
different questions there. I'll flip it back to you before
you get off the air. Can you do you have
some guys in mind? You have two or three four
guys that you're like, I'd like to see this guy,
whether it be free agent, whether it be a guy
that you know will be back.

Yeah, I got Duce Vaughn. I think do well, this'll
be a good going game. But especially since you got
he got the way we can play Duce pretty much
haven't left the whole had a whole game pretty much.
I mean, Dad'll pretty much we already know he already
got a thousand yards and broke a record. So I
think we should at least see Deuce with the starters.
It would be nice to see him with the starters

and actually give a chance to see something because my
my greatest thing with him is he was a good story,
feel good story. But I don't think he never really
got a shot a really just significant to see what
he actually can do, because like I said, we just
got to the turping stuff just with the last couple
of games, So I'm like, he could be he could
be doing that the whole year with Deuce. But I
doesn't need to hear it there, but I think Deuce

would be. It'd be good to see Deuce out there
this week.

run the ball and runs it right between the tackles,

you know is big enough to do that, you know

as well. I think he's had some moments some opportunities

to shine, not as consistent, you know, not consistent moments,
but you know you'd like for him to make a
player or two here and there, and it just hasn't
happened to him. This is this is probably his best
shot and maybe maybe one of his last shots to
really go out there and say, all right, I could
be an NFL player and contributor.

True, I think I think him of course, Mingo if
he you know, mihill get to play in a flood
or a Yeah, I think there'd be some good some
good guys. But I did and see what they got.

so of where they could pick. So but you also
want Washington to play. You know there's enough guys where
you can get a good evaluation.

Well, I mean if I think you could have a

That's what's good about the NFL. You know, in college,
if you're not one of those top teams and you're
never going to be, then then you know, you kind
of have a different thing to root for. But in
the NFL, the way it's structured, it structure for you

to be able to get better with the draft and
then the way the schedule works out and the amount
of money and everyone you know, has these big contracts
and they win, and all of a sudden they lose
coaches and they lose continuity and they lose free agents,
and then they got to replace it and start all
over again. And that's kind of the way it works.
So there's always a chance for teams to make that

Monday or whatever, how that last day goes for you,
especially for the players, but then also the coaches and
you guys, like do you say bye to people or
does the off season start when the team is when
the season's over unless they're in the playoffs, or are
people still players still allowed to come talk to coaches?
I know there's a period where they where they can't,

like you can't get you can come into train, but
you can't get you know, coached up or something.

I appreciate that interesting question. And you know, and they're
always adapting some of the rules there, but but it
is considered trash bag day for sure, usually on that Monday.
I mean, even know, if it's Tuesday, it'll be it'll
be that that Monday, and and and we say that

because you know, team a lot of people cleaning out
their lockers and throwing stuff away and things like that.
You always just see the guys walking around with trash back.
They have exit interviews that they'll meet with with the coach.

Gonna be even more different than others because twenty twenty four,
I think guys now twenty twenty six guys that are
that are free agents. Zeke was one of them but
but no longer here, but but twenty six free agents,
so their futures up in the air.

And then they're gonna meet with.

Coaches, and all of the coaches are up in the
air as well, So I don't even know how that
meeting goes, be like, hey, here's my number. We'll see
what happens. There's gonna be a lot of that. We'll
see what happens. As far as I don't, I don't
think there's a rule that they have to be like
out of the building by like the next day afterwards.
But but it'll there. There is a time where, you know,

week or two or something like that. Now, injuries change
everything because if they have you know injuries to go. Remember,
from a player standpoint, the contract doesn't expire till the
end of the fiscal year, which is like mid March,
So this contract doesn't doesn't expire. Then coaches contracts expire

best player at a certain position.

the draft is still the draft. So I mean, like,
like I've said, you can get a guard at fifteen, fourteen, thirty,
whatever they're going to pick. You can get a guard.
You might get the best one. But would you rather
get the third best pass rusher and or you know

somebody that can help you at one of those elite positions.
How about the second best corner or do you want
the first tight end?

I mean, you know, so.

I think you take I mean, this is very cliche.
I think you take the best player on your board
that fills a need. And you have a lot of needs,
so a quarterback won't be the one probably there. But
you take the best player available, and you name the
other positions what that is, you can find a spot

for him. Oh he's a linebacker. Okay, it must be
a difference maker for sure, So you can use them corner, yeah,
other than safety, even safety and and what and a
quarterback anyone else? I would be fine with that. So
I don't know if you're going to get the best
player at that position, but you know what I mean,
I'd be fine if you got the second best corner

thinking was, I would love to have a defensive lineman yeah,

a sick a corner versus the guard, or a wide

receiver versus the defensive end, who do they think has
played enough football in a big time level that could
come right in and is ready to play right now,
because that that is that is paramount they have to
have that happen.

I'm proud of the way the team has fought and battled,
and I'm very proud of Ceedee Lamb. I thought the

Tampa game was the funnest game for me to watch
it the season. I had a lot of fun with it,
regardless of playoff complications or anything like that. So I'm
very happy about that, and I have no questions about
Ceedee Lamb. I think that that kind of permeates to
the rest of the locker room, even for the next year.
Whenever you have a player so toughness like that and

aren't just showing up to get paid. That man really
loves football.

Oh yeah, there's no doubt about it. I think he
impressed a lot of people, myself included, not that I
had doubt about him, but my level of you know,
just just how much that I appreciated him as a
player that just increased even more. I mean, he really
really was outstanding this year.

I agree. And my last thing I want to mention
is Mike McCarthy. I know we all talking about Mike,
but I think when it comes to him, I really
do want him back. I think he runs a team
pretty well, but at the same time, I think we
need a play caller for this team that can take

us to the next level. I don't. I think his
play calls are fairly basic concepts and they just aren't
executed necessarily well. So you could argue, why would you
add greater concepts to the team, But I don't know.
I see other coordinators throughout the league, and I just
think the play calling just isn't on the level that

you see, like one of the college said yesterday in Detroit,
and Sam, just go and that's the standard to get
to the Super Bowl, Kansas City or whatever team you see.
I think Mike McCarthy has done some great things and
what's great for the development of DK. But I just
think I don't think he's going to come back and
be like, hey, let me give the play calling duties up.

I think it's like, Okay, if you want Mike McCarthy back,
you get all of Mike McCarthy. And I just don't
know if that's the right move for this team going forward,
regardless of his resume, you know what I mean.

Yeah, No, I think you have a good point there,
and I and I don't disagree. I there has to
be a change here, and if you want to keep
McCarthy here as the head coach for everything that he brings,
I think there needs to be a caveat.

That might be an awkward conversation, you know, but I
don't know how many options he has. So if it's like, hey,
let's you know, you come back as the head coach,
we'll sign this deal, but we are going to make
some changes on offense. And you know, I'd like for
you to do different things here, maybe get some different personnel,
and if he says no, it's my way or the highway,

then you know, wonder.

Yeah, And I think it would be kind of tragic
to lose Zimmer in that process. But I think if
you lose the head coach kind of get a clean
slate there likely, So that's another thing you have to
factor in, because I think I think the players want
Zimmer back, and I think Zimmer has a great system.
And maybe you could give Mike McCarthy the benefit of

the doubt of the players saying they aren't necessarily ready
early in the season, because I got to thinking about it,
and maybe it was because of Zimmer's scheme that they
weren't ready, and maybe that's why they were saying that, like, oh,
I'm not prepared because I don't understand this scheme, and
maybe we as fans just don't understand exactly what they're
talking about. But that's all I got. I'll get it
off of here, but I wanted to say before I

get off from my home state of Louisiana, if y'all
have any friends and family that live in New Orleans
or anything like that, My prayers with you and we
all in this together, all right.

all year. They they were bad from day one. They

beat the worst of the worst and they got crushed
by the best teams. Uh, there was really no highlights.

and we're like, okay, so those guys are locked up,
let's go, let's build, let's do this. And it's like,
I don't know, and it's just it's just uh, you know,
you guys talking about having only one show. That's a
shame because this is the best time of the year

to have a show like this. This is when it's
like sighting, especially for this team, because you know, you
could have a new owner. I mean I knew, I
wish new new coach, new players. I don't you'd have
to have a three hour show now.

he did when he first came out of college for
us out He and Dak just turned to eight and
eight media vockery team into winners and gave us hope.

far as what's going on with the Cowboys at uh uh, Yeah,
we're going through some changes. We need some changes. I'm
for one, I'm not down on Mike McCartney. Mike McCarthy,

play calling, and that's one criticism I have. As far
as the sending of staff that gets his team ready
to play, I think he's done a long, long job

because disidering the jury situation that we've had this year,
I'm hopeful that we want the draft that finally is
settled and we know where we are, that we can
get some quality players to come in here and help out.

way of doing things. But you know, if you want
to run the ball on third and three, then then hey,
we're running the ball here. I remember Parcels saying that

Yeah, if I say, hey, let's get Barber here, let's

You can run the show without calling all the plays.
And so it doesn't mean that you're just sitting there
in a suite, you know, watching the game. I mean

you you you can still have your hand in things.
And and they say walk around, coach. I mean, when
the games on the line, you can figure it out
and say, hey, I want to run the ball. I
got four plays here, or you got four plays? We're
first and go from the eight. You know we're up
by three. I want to be up by ten. You
got four plays here? Figure it out? And we should
run the football. You didn't call the plays, but you

pretty much told them what we're doing and what we
need to do. And I think that's there's something to

I'm what I'm hearing from the callers, and I haven't
heard the whole show, so some of them may have
said it outright. But what positive frustration is is that
we want, as Cowboys fans, we want to hear a plan,
and we don't want to hear just cliches about oh,

we're going all in or we're doing this or that
or whatever. We want to hear. Okay, next year, we're
going to get focused on the yries, you know, just
an example, we want to focus on the receivers. We're
going to get some wide receivers and we're gonna get
this and that and whatever, and we want to hear
some direction, not just cliches or little.

They they're they're gonna give you the cliche. They're gonna
give it to us. I mean, they're planned. They're not

But I think what the old timers are saying, the
Cowboy fans for a long time, like myself, is that
when the old regime was in, they would give a

This is an example, We're gonna do the receivers, you know.
But I think that's part of the frustration. That's all

ever remember a time where they they come in and say,
you know, this is our this is our plan, this
is our direction. I mean, think about a couple of
years ago after the draft, after the draft, and you
look at these guys and you're like, all right, this guy,
you know, big strong lineman, big strong defensive tech, big
old linebacker.

Oh, another big wide receiver. So is there a theme here? Yeah?

Yeah, And then after the draft you're like, you know,
what looks like y'all went for a lot of size,
like we did. We felt we need to be bigger.
Here they say it afterwards, here's the theme but I
don't remember going into the draft and saying we've got
to be bigger, stronger, physical upfront, and we're going to
draft big players. I don't remember that. I just think
you kind of see it afterwards. But I don't remember
a lot of times where that they just tell you

the plan. You know, they have the plan, but they're
not gonna throw it up to us, you know.

I mean, so I no, no, Nick.

When I say the old regime, I'm talking about before Jerry.
There were there were times where that regime would say
certain little things that kill the fans, a hint of
what was going to happen next year, not the whole plan,

and they're like, oh, we didn't even get those receivers,

Cowboys make it. I was a little surprised by that.
I thought it wouldn't be that many, but all five
seemed to be very deserving. Of course, Brandon Aubrey and

So there's always a chance for teams to make that

played enough football in a big time level that could

Ceedee Lamb. I think that that kind of permeates to
the rest of the locker room, even for the next year.
Whenever you have a player so toughness like that and

aren't just showing up to get paid. That man really
loves football.

Oh yeah, there's no doubt about it. I think he
impressed a lot of people, myself included, not that I
had doubt about him, but my level of you know,
just just how much that I appreciated him as a
player that just increased even more. I mean, he really
really was outstanding this year.

I agree. And my last thing I want to mention
is Mike McCarthy. I know we all talking about Mike,
but I think when it comes to him, I really
do want him back. I think he runs a team
pretty well, but at the same time, I think we
need a play caller for this team that can take

us to the next level. I don't. I think his
play calls are fairly basic concepts and they just aren't
executed necessarily well. So you could argue, why would you
add greater concepts to the team, But I don't know.
I see other coordinators throughout the league, and I just
think the play calling just isn't on the level that

you see, like one of the college said yesterday in Detroit,
and Sam, just go and that's the standard to get
to the Super Bowl, Kansas City or whatever team you see.
I think Mike McCarthy has done some great things and
what's great for the development of DK. But I just
think I don't think he's going to come back and
be like, hey, let me give the play calling duties up.

I think it's like, Okay, if you want Mike McCarthy back,
you get all of Mike McCarthy. And I just don't
know if that's the right move for this team going forward,
regardless of his resume, you know what I mean.

be a change here, and if you want to keep
McCarthy here as the head coach for everything that he brings,
I think there needs to be a caveat.

And I mean, and.

That might be an awkward conversation, you know, but I
don't know how many options he has. So if it's like, hey,
let's you know, you come back as the head coach,
we'll sign this deal, but we are going to make
some changes on offense. And you know, I'd like for
you to do different things here, maybe get some different personnel,
and if he says no, it's my way or the highway,

then you know, wonder.

Yeah, And I think it would be kind of tragic
to lose Zimmer in that process. But I think if
you lose the head coach kind of get a clean
slate there likely, So that's another thing you have to
factor in, because I think I think the players want
Zimmer back, and I think Zimmer has a great system.
And maybe you could give Mike McCarthy the benefit of

the doubt of the players saying they aren't necessarily ready
early in the season, because I got to thinking about it,
and maybe it was because of Zimmer's scheme that they
weren't ready, and maybe that's why they were saying that, like, oh,
I'm not prepared because I don't understand this scheme, and
maybe we as fans just don't understand exactly what they're
talking about. But that's all I got. I'll get it
off of here, but I wanted to say before I

get off from my home state of Louisiana, if y'all
have any friends and family that live in New Orleans
or anything like that, My prayers with you and we
all in this together, all right.

Well said, Obviously a scary situation there, just in senseless
hate hate that for the for the city of New Orleans,
and and it's going to be it's going to be
an interesting next couple of weeks and months, you know,

as they as they go through that, and know they
have a huge game today in the playoffs, a football
game down there, but Super Bowl as well, so security
is going to be tighter than ever. But still just
just an unreal situation that happened there. And like you said,
much bigger than than football. All right, let's let's keep

You know, cays go out definitely to the people to
New Orleans. Me personally, I can't wait for this season.
Ten To me, I think it's the worst season I've
ever watched. You know, I'm fifty seven, so I've been
a fan probably since I'm six or seven years old.

You know when the Cowboys were when you knew they
were going to be bad. I don't know what they
were rebuilding. You could kind of pick out what you
want to see who I want to see this guy
and I want to see it. But this season wasn't
like that. We didn't think they were going to be
this bad. And Cowboys fans are honest, they were bad
all year. They they were bad from day one. They

beat the worst of the worst and they got crushed
by the best teams. Uh, there was really no highlights.

To this season.
Speaker 12 (33:14):
And I just hope, you know, the Joneses realized, look
in the mirror, look at each other, says we got
to blow it up.

And they do.

They clean, they clean house. That's that's what needs to
be done.

But you know, if they don't blow it up, because
I don't think that that's what they're going to do.

And then we're going to be worse next year.

Can't like like all these fans are calling in like
the last caller, he says, I like Mike McCarthy, he
runs a good team. I don't see that. But I
think we have to take away his play calling. I
hope if that ever comes up, I hope Mike McCarthy
grows a pair and says no and and and leaves.

Because what do I need Mike McCarthy for.

Well, you want him to do that, so he'll be
out the door. Is that what you're saying? You want

The only reason you're here was to improved and be

And the only reason why you would stay is for
the money. And it's and you're basically Jerry's just saying,
I just I'm comfortable with this guy.

Blow the whole thing up. Uh talking about Micah. I
love Michael, but he's starting to get like Jerry. You know,
he's he does this podcast and I don't care that
he does a podcast. I mean, my kids that at
that age, maybe a little older, that's that's what they're into.
But he just talks about like he said, yeah, come
to come to the Cowboys. You could get the boost endorsements.
(35:13):
It's like, dude, yeah, what are you talking about? You know,
don't say it, think it, you know what I mean,
I don't know that. The whole the world of the
Dallas Cowboys is just off. It's it's just off. As fans,
we really don't know what is going on. We look at,
(35:36):
you know, all the money that they paid to certain players. Uh,
and we're like, okay, so those guys are locked up,
let's go, let's build, let's do this. And it's like,
I don't know, and it's just it's just uh, you know,
you guys talking about having only one show. That's a
shame because this is the best time of the year
(35:57):
to have a show like this. This is when it's
like sighting, especially for this team, because you know, you
could have a new owner. I mean I knew, I
wish new new coach, new players. I don't you'd have
to have a three hour show now.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
I can't agree enough. And you know, I wish I
wish others shared the same thought process.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
I wish we could do it more.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
But then again, you know, we have a lot of
shows here and by doing that that that puts a
lot of pressure on on Chris in the back and
other people as well. But I do understand that the
show gives the fans a voice and get you know,
more than any other show does, and I wish we
could do it more so, but that's kind of the
that's what we have.

That's what we have right now.

Chris said, all he needs is two weeks off and
he's ready to rock.

know that, and they felt they fell short of the

mark as a team, as I as I wrote this morning,
and they you know, individually five Pro bowlers. That's good
for them. I mean, those guys were deserving for sure.
I'm glad that they put Aubry in. His missed field
goals didn't haunt.

I mean, I think everyone realizes he's kicking it from
you know, New Mexico, you know, and some of these
kicks that he's missed so Turpin as well. Those two
guys set you know, a lot of records here this year.

They got in Tyler Smith as well, another phenomenal player,
and he's he may be a main stay there for
a long time. There On the Pro Bowl list we
saw was Zach Barton. And you know what could be

hadn't started off on the best it's considering all the
things that happened in New Orleans yesterday and in Vegas,

At Our season was pretty much like that. Hasn't been

the best season that we've had. We had those twelve
wins seasons is to three of them, and didn't get
over the hump, didn't get really fast, go hardly, but
nevertheless we were there. As far as the coming season

is concerned, it's a sad day to say goodbye to Zeke.
I'm one of the guys that I don't forget what
he did when he first came out of college for
us out He and Dak just turned to eight and
eight media vockery team into winners and gave us hope.

And I wish him nothing but the best. Uh. As
far as what's going on with the Cowboys at uh uh, Yeah,
we're going through some changes. We need some changes. I'm
for one, I'm not down on Mike McCartney. Mike McCarthy,

I feel like that he is somewhat predictable in his
play calling, and that's one criticism I have. As far
as the sending of staff that gets his team ready
to play, I think he's done a long, long job
(41:59):
because disidering the jury situation that we've had this year,
I'm hopeful that we want the draft that finally is
settled and we know where we are, that we can
get some quality players to come in here and help out.

As far as Will mcclay's because is concerned, I would
hate to see the Cowboys losing that. I think that
would really be a real blow to us. I appreciate

watching them, you know them, you guys are the diehards.

Been times where people will come to the show and
ask questions and and that that I haven't even heard
of yet. You know that doesn't happen a lot, but
it's happened some. You guys are very informed, and so
I think as a collection, it's been it's been great.

what you said about McCarthy play calling and things like that.
You know, Bill Parcells didn't call the plays on offense
(44:08):
or even defense. You can be you're the head coach
of the team. You you get a new play caller
in here, a younger guy, different voice, maybe sees it,
you know a little differently. Uh got you know, his
way of doing things. But you know, if you want
to run the ball on third and three, then then hey,
we're running the ball here. I remember Parcels saying that
(44:29):
about Sean Payton. You know, do you do you jump in?
Speaker 8 (44:32):
Well?
Speaker 3 (44:32):
Yeah, if I say, hey, let's get Barber here, let's
let's let's run, let's run, let's run Julius, you know
on the outside, Okay, well, okay, cool, I got about
five five plays we can run here in this formation.
All that I'm gonna make the call. You can call.
You can run the show without calling all the plays.
And so it doesn't mean that you're just sitting there
in a suite, you know, watching the game. I mean
(44:54):
you you you can still have your hand in things.
And and they say walk around, coach. I mean, when
the games on the line, you can figure it out
and say, hey, I want to run the ball. I
got four plays here, or you got four plays? We're
first and go from the eight. You know we're up
by three. I want to be up by ten. You
got four plays here? Figure it out? And we should
run the football. You didn't call the plays, but you
(45:16):
pretty much told them what we're doing and what we
need to do. And I think that's there's something to
be said for that. Let's go to Lester in Minnesota. Lester,
what's up?
Speaker 10 (45:26):
Hey, Good morning, everybody? Good morning that I think what
I'm what I'm hearing from the callers, and I haven't
heard the whole show, so some of them may have
said it outright. But what positive frustration is is that
we want, as Cowboys fans, we want to hear a plan,
and we don't want to hear just cliches about oh,
(45:49):
we're going all in or we're doing this or that
or whatever. We want to hear. Okay, next year, we're
going to get focused on the yries, you know, just
an example, we want to focus on the receivers. We're
going to get some wide receivers and we're gonna get
this and that and whatever, and we want to hear
some direction, not just cliches or little.
Speaker 1 (46:10):
Well hold little hold on lesser.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
They they're they're gonna give you the cliche. They're gonna
give it to us. I mean, they're planned. They're not
going to go into and say this is what we're
going to do.
Speaker 10 (46:22):
I mean, like, no, no, no, I'm just saying that.
But I think what the old timers are saying, the
Cowboy fans for a long time, like myself, is that
when the old regime was in, they would give a
little hint about, Okay, next year, we're gonna.
Speaker 5 (46:37):
Do the receivers.
Speaker 10 (46:38):
This is an example, We're gonna do the receivers, you know.
But I think that's part of the frustration. That's all
I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (46:46):
I get, That's what I get.
Speaker 3 (46:48):
I just yeah, And I just don't know if I've
ever remember a time where they they come in and say,
you know, this is our this is our plan, this
is our direction. I mean, think about a couple of
years ago after the draft, after the draft, and you
look at these guys and you're like, all right, this guy,
you know, big strong lineman, big strong defensive tech, big
old linebacker.
Speaker 1 (47:08):
Oh, another big wide receiver. So is there a theme here? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (47:12):
Yeah, And then after the draft you're like, you know,
what looks like y'all went for a lot of size,
like we did. We felt we need to be bigger.
Here they say it afterwards, here's the theme but I
don't remember going into the draft and saying we've got
to be bigger, stronger, physical upfront, and we're going to
draft big players. I don't remember that. I just think
you kind of see it afterwards. But I don't remember
a lot of times where that they just tell you
(47:33):
the plan. You know, they have the plan, but they're
not gonna throw it up to us, you know.
Speaker 7 (47:38):
I mean, so I no, no, Nick.
Speaker 10 (47:41):
When I say the old regime, I'm talking about before Jerry.
There were there were times where that regime would say
certain little things that kill the fans, a hint of
what was going to happen next year, not the whole plan,
but just a little hint. Yeah, that's what I think.
That's why I said the old the old old times.
I think that's part of the.

Yeah, before the Internet, before the blogs, before everyone you
a Twitter and all that stuff. Yeah, just throw it
out there, and it was you know, and and by
the time you got it in your Dallas Cowboys Weekly
to go, oh, it looked like we were going to
get some wide receivers here. You know, it looks like
that's that's what Landry's saying. You know, by then it's
It's it's mid July and the draft has already happened,
and they're like, oh, we didn't even get those receivers,
(48:22):
so a little different time. I understand what you're saying
though you want it, you want to kind of know
you just don't want to hear. We'll see if we
do it better next year. I mean I I I
get that you want it, you want to know what
what it is, what's gonna happen? How is this going
to be different? And believe me, I I'm I'm there, Okay,
I understand that. I'm in the same situation as you guys.
(48:43):
All right, my college team, same situation. Didn't know if
the coach was going to come back. I'm a big
Arkansas fan. They brought the they brought the coach back,
and I'm like, what's different, what's gonna be new? You
know it's and you want you want that and and
I I totally understand what you're saying.

So, oh yeah, well an offensive line good good to
very good, and defensive line at the same time, same time,
