Speaker 1 (00:08):
Our weekend.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
In football and baseball Game seven, the Jays forced it
so the Mariners couldn't wrap them up.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
But it's not about sports.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Right here at the top, as we kick things off,
always the rundown comes first on atn let's dive right
into it. President Trump had a busy weekend in Florida
as he was hosting Ukrainian President Zelenski. Over the weekend,
(00:40):
big talks on ending the war. Here's what he said.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
We had a very good meeting, very cordial meeting. In
my opinion, they should stop the war immediately. You go
by the battle line wherever it is, and both sides
should go home, go to their families, stop the killing.
Speaker 5 (00:59):
And that should stop the killing.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
And then President Zelenski, who agrees with Trump, says, we
do need Tomahawk missiles though, because it's not over yet,
that can go fifteen miles into Russian territory. But I'm
willing to trade for that elusive cease fire.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
We need cease file even now. You see in the
Middle East it's very difficult to hold his file. Everywhere
in every war, it's very difficult. We want this, Putin
doesn't want. That's why we need pressure.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
On him, there you go.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
We want peace, Putin doesn't want it. The President is
going to meet with Putin, supposedly in Budapest, and we'll
see if he can secure a deal there. While that
was happening, in the meantime here at home, the government
continues to be shut down. More people are gonna start
missing those page, more services are going to be cut off,
(02:03):
and it doesn't seem as though there is any end
in site. In fact, the House not coming back. They're recessed.
And that's what the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson says,
until he blames Schumer, until Schumer decides that they're going
to sign a continuing resolution or vote for it, then
(02:25):
we can talk about policy. But we can't do that
until that happens. So Congressman Kevin Kylie, a Republican from California,
was stunned that the House was first of all going
to be shut out, meaning they could go to work,
but there's not going to be any legislation. There's not
gonna be any debates on anything. And then he talked
about how this needs to end.
Speaker 6 (02:48):
I wish the Senate would just go ahead and pass
that same CR and we can get the government open
and we can get the million people back to work.
But I also understand that if there's an unwillingness to
do that, then at some point we need to actually
have some conversations to see if we can find some
bipartisan common ground to get Americans the government that they
are paying for back serving them.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
There you go, the US broker ceasefire, my friends, appears
to have survived the first major test. But yet, as
I say that, there was an attack on the Gaza strip,
and that's because Israel says that Hamas first of all,
(03:31):
has to return more bodies of those that died when
they were held in captivity, whether they were dragged over
the border or whether they died rather while they were there.
And also the fact that two of their soldiers were killed.
So it's not easy to hold that line, which is
(03:52):
exactly what Zelensky referenced in talking about his own plight
for the Ukraine, saying, it's not easy to see this happen,
as you can see by what happened on Sunday in Israel.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
So this is a big deal.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Luckily, the hostages, the live hostages, were returned, but you
still think of those people that are caught in between,
meaning so many of those that the GUAZ has stripped.
The humanitarian aid was starting to come in. So does
all of that get halted or not? Let's see, it's
a very very big week. Meanwhile, there's a man hunt underway.
(04:33):
This is the craziest story for suspects in a daylight
love heist. They took Napoleonic jewelry, jewels that he had
given his queen. I'll call that's what I'll call it.
They look like they were doing some work and in
seven minutes time they ended up jumping on motorbikes and
(04:55):
getting away with it. How does that happen to? High
security display cases were targeted. Eight of the nine items
taken remain unaccounted for, including a tiara and a necklace
worn by Queen Marie Amelia and Queen Hortense. Wow.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
They forced open a.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Window using an angle grinder and stole the jewelry that
has you know, sentimental value obviously because of history, but
it's absolutely priceless, all the diamonds, all of that stuff.
They were unarmed, but they threatened guards with the grinders
that they had, and they were able to get in
(05:37):
get what they wanted and take off the market values.
It's like I said, off the charts, so French President
Emmanuel McCrone. So that everything is being done to catch
the suspects. The theft committed at the Louver is an
(05:57):
attack on a hae. We cherish because it's part of
our history, saying we're gonna recover the works and the
perpetrators are gonna be brought to justice. You know, it's
like a movie. They had the two angle grinders, a
blow torch, gasoline, gloves of walkie talkie, a blanket and
a crown. At the scene of the robbery, that's what
(06:20):
they found. A yellow vest used by them to disguise
themselves as workmen. That was found a little bit away
during their escape, So they were just shedding things as
they moved along. I mean, this was meticulously planned. They
had to be staking it out. It happened at nine
to thirty in the morning on Sunday. No injuries, that's
(06:43):
the good thing, all of that. But the fact that
they were able to get in do what they did
is wild.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
You know.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
This is the museum that houses world famous artworks like
the Mona Lisa, and they had to stay closed on
Sunday because of what they called on the website exceptional
reasons because they didn't want to say, yeah, we just
got ripped off. Wow again. It just shows you where,
(07:13):
you know, the movies sometimes mirror what can happen in
real life, and this is one of those examples of
they figured out a way that they could get in unsuspecting,
because who's suspecting you're gonna do that? That in broad daylight,
you're gonna do that, And the answer to it is no,
that's not at all what you're thinking. Just absolutely no way.
(07:36):
All right, coming up, of course, we're gonna go to
the man cave. And in the man cave, there is
so much to talk about from the NFL. What a
crazy weekend, and there's still two Monday night games that
are left.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
The greatest, the great.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Mental escape for many of us, of course, watching sports
right to two. Whatever it is that's pressing us, whether
it's stressover jobs, or whether it's something to do with
family or financial or you want to just strangle the
people who represent us because we're waiting for the government
(08:14):
to reopen again and to move forward with a whole
bunch of legislation. The great escape is to me sports, sports,
and then some more sports. So that's where we're at it.
I will meet you in the man cave. We've got
a lot of NFL to talk about.
Speaker 5 (08:51):

I'm going to the man Cave, going to the Marcave,
going to the mari Cave.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Anything.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Yes, we are in the man Cave.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
And we had two Monday night football games that are
left the Buccaneers at five and one taking on the
four and two Lions Ford Field in Detroit.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
That happens.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
That's the seven o'clock game Eastern and then the I
should say it's six o'clock, right at six o'clock, and
then the nine o'clock game the Texans and the Seahawks.
They finish out the week. But man, what a weekend.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
I know.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
I say this all the time. I'm like a broken record.
I'm a fan, right so, and I'm watching these games,
I'm like, what, I can't believe that happened. One of
the craziest games was the Broncos coming back to beat
the Giants. Listen to the tail end of what happened.
Speaker 7 (13:05):
The rookie you will hold it, Will Lunch thirty nine
yard field goal for the win.
Speaker 16 (13:10):
He Denver's one.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
So Denver is five and two, the Giants two and five.
So what's so crazy is they were shut out for
three quarters. But then the Broncos rallied with thirty three
points in the fourth, one of the biggest turnarounds in
NFL history. Will Lutz kick that thirty nine yarder that
you just heard as time was expiring, and it was
an incredible win over the Giants. The thirty three fourth
(13:42):
quarter points Chuck this in the back of your mind
future bar sports trivia question, were the most in NFL
history by any team that was shut out for the
first three quarters, and quarterback Bo Nixon became the first
player to ever run for two scores and throw for
two touchdowns in a fourth quarter. So that was very
big for the Broncos. And the fans went nuts because
(14:03):
they were silent for a second. Who was like, Wow,
how is this happening? I cannot believe it? All right,
how about the Cowboy fans? They weren't silent either. They
were so loud and proud, and they should be because
they trashed the Commanders. The final score forty four to
twenty two. There were a lot of highlights, including Cedee
(14:24):
Lamb being back in the saddles, so to speak. He
made a big difference. Check this touchdown out get.
Speaker 8 (14:32):
It for the fourth time, Prescot a lot of time,
airs it out deep down the field breaks a tackle.
Speaker 13 (14:38):
No at home touchdown? Dallas.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Yeah, so Dallas three three and one. Now remember they
had that tie game. So Ceedee Lamb five catches one
hundred and ten yards. Sweet for all you Cowboy fans listening.
All right, this was the nail of the score game
of the week, the Vikings and the Eagles, and like
Pete and Texas picked the Vikings, and Sharon picked the Vikings,
(15:08):
and then Joe and Candy and Hugh and Harry and
Frenzy I love that nickname, Frenzy all picked the Eagles,
but they did not pick the winning score. I picked
the Eagles. I said twenty seven to twenty one. That
ultimately was not the score. The final score. We kind
(15:30):
of surrounded it, but it was twenty eight to twenty two,
pretty close, right. And it was a very big day
for Jalen Hurts, who had three touchdowns three hundred and
twenty six yards passing, including this one.
Speaker 13 (15:45):
With Jurgens dealing with an injury.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Deep drop for Hurts trying to find something downfield and
it's Devontae Smith.
Speaker 12 (15:52):
He's loose, Peace done it, pe God touchdown, Eagles.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Touchdown Eagles. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
It was rough for the Viking, sorry Viking fans, but
the Jalen Hurts finally got it going because they they're
really especially too. They were having problems across the board
with clicking I think in the right direction, and so
this was a big for the Eagles, not big for
(16:23):
the Vikings. For the Vikings, Carson Wentz, a former Eagles quarterback,
went twenty six forty two, three hundred and thirteen yards
erratic afternoons, picked off twice struggled on the other end,
the Vikings had to settle for five field goals on
six possessions inside the twenty. You're not gonna win if
(16:43):
you can't score put up more points when you're in
the red zone, and that's exactly what happened there. Cardinal
fans thought they had a winner, but they didn't. At
the end, the Packers came back twenty seven to twenty three.
Sorry Cardinal Fans two and five, and the Packers now
four to one and one to Kobe Jakobe was looking good.
(17:05):
It was looking so good. But the majority of the
road trip for the Packers it didn't go well because
they had all kinds of problems. They had to wait
on the tarmac for a bunch of hours because of
travel delays on Saturday. They fell into a ten point
Bizarro deficit in the first half on Sunday, but Josh
(17:26):
Jacobs Micah Parsons really ended things in the right way
and Green Bay fought the sluggishness and the adversity and
they were able to come back and win it. So
the Cardinals have lost five straight by combined thirteen points.
Speaker 13 (17:45):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
They're just a third NFL team to lose by four
points or less than five straight in five straight. So
that's really hard luck, isn't it. Micah Parsons finished with
three sacks, four tackles for loss, and five quarterback hurries.
He made life difficult for Jacoby Brissaid all day long,
(18:08):
and that was part of the story. So you know again,
he was just too he was just two in his
face and it made it. It made it very, very difficult.
The Colts beat the Chargers. The Chargers are four and three,
but ladies and gentlemen, the Colts are six and one. Wow,
(18:29):
this is an interesting story. People could not stand could
not stand Daniel. They could not stand Daniel. What am
I trying to say here? They could not stand Daniel
Jones when he was in New York because he wasn't
getting it done. Now he's like a world beater, which
(18:52):
is wild.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
How about that?
Speaker 2 (18:54):
So another big win for the Colts. I mean, Jones
is hitting everyone. He hit Michael Pittman for a four
yard score. Tyler Warren five yard pass. He was twenty
three of thirty four, got sacked just once and again
(19:16):
another big, big win for.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Els.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
The fans are excited. They're electrified, of course, not the
ones in Los Angeles who were cheering for the Chargers
who got the loss instead of the instead of the win.
All right, I'm going to rifle in a whole bunch
of them for you too, so we can get this
all in there for you. The Patriots beat the Titans
(19:41):
thirty one to thirteen. The Bears, man, they're four and two.
They knocked off the Saints, Sorry Saints fans, twenty six fourteen.
Panthers beat the Jets thirteen to six. Chiefs, they have.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Found their form.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
A couple of receptions, three of them for Travis Kelce
fifty four yards, Pat Mahomes two hundred and eighty six yards,
three touchdown, seriously blanking the Raiders. And they did look
so dominant, I mean so so dominant. And all the
weapons were being used this time around. I think that
(20:20):
is part of the difference. But a defense was good.
They held the Raiders to three first downs ninety six yards,
beating them for the tenth time in eleven matchups. How
about that poor Gino Smith, he was not having a day.
He was ten of sixteen for sixty seven yards. So
it is the most It was the fourth and most
lopsided shut out by Kansas City in its one hundred
(20:42):
and thirty three game history against the Raiders. So even
though they've looked a little ho hum the last couple
of weeks, they are coming alive for sure, and we're
seeing it. So look out for the Chiefs. They are
not done yet. They're getting those first downs doing what
(21:05):
they needed to do, and that is this is the
Chiefs of old, and that is pretty scary if you
think about that. The Browns two and five coming into
this game against them, or one in five coming into
this game against the Dolphins. But they picked up their
second thirty one to six. The final score. Wow looking
(21:31):
at this for Cleveland fans and pretty good, right of course.
So what happened here is all three phases worked for
the Browns. Everything they had to do, you know, worked.
Quinchewn Judkins had three touchdowns and the Browns got over
the seventeen point hump for the first time in twelve games.
(21:53):
The defense held the opponent without a touchdown for the
first time in two years and special teams always key
forced a big turnover in the second quarter. So the game,
in which passing was at a premium because of the
heavy rain and win during the first half, was pretty
(22:13):
interesting to watch to see some of that. It was
a wild, wild game, but it was one that the
Cleveland fans were happy they won because they picked up
that second victory. All right, coming up, we're going into
the zone we like to call author's corner.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Hang with us, So this time around.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
On author's corner. Wow, this woman is such a prolific
writer and there's so many interesting things about her life.
I could probably talk to her for three hours. Her
name is Lady Kimberly Motes Dotie and she is the
author of fifty books. We're talking about divine guidance, connecting
with God's voice and you think about that, and there's
(23:30):
some really interesting subtitles and texts to that too, soulful reflections,
empowering prayers for a transform life. Ah, who does not
want that? Lady Kimberly, thank you for coming on, Oh,
thank you for having me so fifty books and well,
I just cannot not touch on that. What got you
(23:51):
down the path of writing?
Speaker 17 (23:52):
In the first place, actually having cancer in the pandemic
and being able to walk on the bus all I
could do, and so walking on the beach just these
books just started flowing out of me, and so by
the end of the pandemic, I had almost thirty books written.
Speaker 11 (24:09):
They just started pouring out of me.
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Wow in this book, because it's a really direct title
what you're talking about. I love the part of even
soulful reflections, empowering prayers for a transform life. Is this
a lot of what's come to you throughout your life?
Speaker 17 (24:26):
It is everything I've tried to do my entire life
and especially now that I'm retired, is to empower people
to be the best that.
Speaker 11 (24:36):
They can be.
Speaker 17 (24:37):
And everything about is being divine and being close to God.
Speaker 11 (24:41):
So it just seems to fit.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
How tough is it now for people because as you know,
everybody's so connected to everything technology wise, which it doesn't
mean it's a bad thing, but I think that whole
idea of reflecting, that whole idea of prayer, that whole
li idea of remembering God of what we're here for,
all of that sometimes gets lost.
Speaker 17 (25:08):
I agree, and I think that's part of why I
wrote this and I wrote this series mainly for my
youngest daughter. I've written some other things for my older
daughter and for my husband, but this one is for.
Speaker 11 (25:18):
My youngest daughter. She moved down here when she got divorced.
Speaker 17 (25:23):
You know, the pandemic hurt a lot of people, and
her family was one of them that that it hurt.
Speaker 11 (25:29):
So her and my two.
Speaker 17 (25:30):
Younger grandchildren moved down and this one was for her
to reconnect and to find herself again. And what I
found was a lot of people who kind of helped
me read it and edit it with me. We're finding
the same thing is they needed to reconnect and feel
that void inside of them that I think we all
kind of have that that we're looking to fill that
(25:52):
hole inside of us. And that's where this series kind
of comes in and helps us learn how to pray,
how to meditate, how to find God.
Speaker 11 (26:00):
And how to find the divine inside of us.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Yeah, you say even in the introduction, you say in
the pages, in these pages, you will discover the power
of prayer, not merely as a religious ritual, but as
a profound means of communication. So that's exactly what we're
talking about here. Tell us more about the book, Well.
Speaker 17 (26:20):
The first one is really how to pray and how
to meditate, which is how to communicate with God, how
to community, which is how to communicate with yourself. When
we think about meditation, most people think about it the
way that they hear about it on TV, which is
kind of looking out into the void and saying, okay,
(26:43):
here I am, Now what do I do? But Biblical
meditation is different. Biblical meditation is opening yourself up, kind
of closing your eyes and saying okay, God, here I am,
and focusing on God. And when you focus on God,
God here you and through His Holy Spirit, that's how
He communicates with you. And that's the difference in what
(27:04):
we think about as kind of Eastern meditation and Biblical meditation.
When you focus on God, then you bring God into
your life and the things that you want in your
life start kind of appearing in your life. And that's
when God kind of feels that void in your life.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Yeah, and you really break it down, so like for example,
in chapter eleven, as we're talking about enhancing your prayer journey,
and you take us through step by step daily routine
asking for guidance, asking God for guidance, meal time prayer,
enhancing focus in prayer. And that's what I was talking
about with distractions, so not just saying words I guess.
Speaker 11 (27:44):
Right, right, right, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 17 (27:47):
I wanted to make this like a and I went
through the Bible multiple times. You know, what does the
Bible really say? And step by step what did Jesus?
A lot of what I write. If you read my
step you'll notice I structure it biblical. What did Jesus
teach us about his life? Because he was the most
divine being that we've ever had, and he taught us
(28:09):
everything that we need to know, which is really shocked
me when I went out on the beach during the pandemic.
Everything we need to know is really in the Bible,
which is what my dad used to say, if you
ever have a question, go back to the Bible because
it's all there. And I thought, okay, Dad, that's a
little out there, but it's really really true today as
it was when the Bible was written and when.
Speaker 11 (28:30):
Jesus walked the earth. You just have to go and
find it.
Speaker 17 (28:33):
So what I try to do in my books is
go and find it for you, and I try to
break it down as simple as possible, and I put
it in very easy steps.
Speaker 11 (28:42):
One, two, three. This is what the Bible says, and
so it's very easy to follow.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Yeah, and you even talk about service to others. You
talk about donating to food banks and shelters, you talk
about offering to help vulnerable people individuals. As you say,
you talk about spreading positivity and incurag and why do
you talk about that.
Speaker 17 (29:04):
Jesus's home model was about serving others even when someone
passed away, like when John the Baptist passed away. The
first thing that Jesus did was, well, he took a
moment to himself to go and pray, and then he
went back out and he serviced others. Because that's how
you fulfill this hole inside ourselves is serving others. So
(29:24):
that's this servitude model is what Jesus taught us, and
that's how we love others. When we think about the
greatest commandment that there is in the Bible, it's a
two part commandment and it says both parts are equally important.
It's to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind.
And the second part of that is to love others
(29:45):
as we love ourselves, which is that servitude model.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Absolutely, did you ever think because You've had such an
interesting life and career, as I alluded to in the beginning,
acting all of that. People may have seen you in
all kinds of different things from on lifetime, TV and
various other things that you've done as well. Did you
ever think you'd be given this gift? Were just poured
out of you? And have you have these many books?
Speaker 17 (30:11):
No, I really didn't. My original career was working in Washington,
d c. And all around the country and the Caribbean.
I implemented financial systems for the federal government and for
Fortune one hundred companies. So I was very technology based,
and I was I was a little bit of a
nerd because I, you know, having this computer science background
(30:31):
and this finance background, so I wrote technical manuals and
I never thought that God would use me this way.
I had a very I had a wonderful career. It
was very prosperous. It was very from what most people
on the outside looking in would think it was. Should
have been a very fulfilling career, but I was very
lost and I was very People used to tease me
(30:55):
about praying. You know, I always knew God was a
very important part of my life, but I always felt
this hole inside of me, like something was just missing.
And it wasn't until the pandemic, you know, like I said,
when I you know, I had cancer coming into the pandemic,
and so I went into my healing face right as
everything was locking down. So it was one of the
(31:16):
most loneliest times in my entire life. And so as
I'm out, you know, walking on the beach, and I
am just balling my eyes out because it's hard to
heal when you're all by yourself. And it was just
you know, me and my husband here, My daughters were
all up north one of Virginia, one in Pennsylvania, and
the rest of my families, you know, scattered around the country.
So heres they're out there and here and you know,
(31:39):
the Florida area. All we could do is really go
to the beach. So I'm walking on the beach and
I'm you know, balling my eyes out and I'm crying
to God. And for me, I felt like I was
just waiting to die. You know, I didn't know what
else to do, you know, and the pandemic felt so
horrible for all of us, and you know, here I
you know, was trying to figure out how to heal
from cancer, and cancer is one of those things that
(32:01):
it feels so devastating anyway, and so I embollingmize out
on the beach, going, you know, God, what's next? So
I just die now you know what happens.
Speaker 11 (32:10):
And then all of.
Speaker 17 (32:11):
A sudden one day, I just felt this sense of
relief come over me. And that's when I realized that
I had fallen in love with God. That thing that
they talk about in the Bible, that heart, mind, body,
and soul falling in love. I had never experienced that before.
And then all of a sudden, everything just fell into place,
(32:32):
and I felt this peace come over me. And then
these books just started pouring out of me, just full
of love and compassion. And people started coming up to
me and they were like, you just you have this
light about you, this look about you. And I've seen
you out here crying before, and I'd seen other people
crying out there too. There's a lot of people that
cry on the beach, which was very surprising to me.
(32:54):
But and then people started coming out and talking to me.
And I had a life coaching certification, so I started
kind of applying those principles and pulling, you know, different
things out of them and then these books, you know,
applying these principles of God and so these that's how
the books just started coming out of me. It was
through that kind of when God said, Okay, now I've
(33:15):
got you as humble as I need you to be.
Speaker 11 (33:17):
Now I can use you.
Speaker 17 (33:19):
And so that's when he started using me, and these
books just started pouring out of me.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
So when people read this book or read any of
your other books, what do you hope they take away?
And I think you're saying.
Speaker 17 (33:28):
It inspiration, empowerment. That sometimes when you think you're at
the very lowest point in your life, it's when God
is putting you where he needs to. I'm going to cry,
He's putting you where he needs you so he can
actually use you and he's actually building you up.
Speaker 3 (33:45):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (33:47):

So the name of the book is Clayfaces Glory Ultimatum,
And I'm going to introduce you to a really interesting guy.
George Mills joins us on an author's corner here in
America tonight with me Kate Delaney and his story and
how he pulled this together and all of us. He's
got six published books. Hmpting, George, thanks so much for
coming on.
Speaker 12 (38:16):
I appreciate y'all having me give me a chance to
talk about the books.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
So let's talk about how you started writing before we
even get to this specific book and your others. What
what was the road you took to start to write.
I know that you used to write poems when you
were a kid for your mom.
Speaker 12 (38:33):
Yes, ma'am, and that was what got me started to
seeing what I could come up with. And after going
through a divorce, a friend of mine say that chance
misses a chance you never get back. And I've always
wanted to write about my time in the military over
on Dejis Shield. So I just started writing about a
(38:57):
man searching for his and you sold mate, and it
just went from there. A friend of mine told me
that what I had was pretty good. I need to
have it published. So I went through Christian Faith Pushing
Company and had it published, and then I just snowed
all from there. A food teacher told me that after
(39:19):
she read the first one, I left her a cliff
hangers how the second one was gonna come back. We
just went around talking about it, and next thing I know,
I got six fixing the half. I'm I'm to sell him.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Wow, you know, And in your book, it's like she
gave you a great compliment, the cliffhanger you talk about.
You know, this book, Clay Faces Glorious Ultimatum is a
sequel to Clay's Endless Dream. So tell us about the
Endless Dream and then the trials and tribulations that lead
us to Gloria's Ultimatum.
Speaker 12 (39:54):
The Endless Dream came went over. I decided the ending
of the Footprint of an American Soldier the way I
left it hanging left to open or plays Endless Dream.
And he just started talking about the dreams that he
would currently have through out his time, and everything just
(40:19):
built off of the dreams that he used the figure
of his imagination to go with. And I said, it
went into that one plays Endless Dream and someone asked
him this gonna be the last one. I said, I
don't think so, because endless dreams don't end. They keep coming.
(40:41):
And that's how Hey Faces Doors, Fuck of Maadem come
about because I had it reviewed by one hundred some
people on Good Read and every one of them wanted
to know what took place with the Fucktimatum, fue Clay
and brilliant. So I had to sit down and stretch
(41:05):
my head that try to explain to him what took place.
And it's very interesting the outcome of play Faces Her.
I had to really use my imagination on how to
work around Well, I'm not going to say how I
(41:27):
got out, can't I can't. I can't reveal that. But
anyway it turned out to go into The next book
plays back between true Love and Love, where he's fighting
to understand what true love was because he knew what
(41:49):
he thought was true love in his first marriage, but
actually the marriage ended after twenty five years. He didn't
know what true love. It just shared his heart and
that's how the journey begins. Was he's trying to find
his soul mate that could put his heart back together,
(42:10):
and he or over the hurt that he got out
of the first marriage, and it just kept going, and
even after book seven, there's going to be another one,
I'm hoping that describes the journey in a more detail.
Speaker 2 (42:37):
Do you feel like these books just kind of pour
out of you, because you know there it's novels, but
it's also based on a lot of what's happened to you, right.
Speaker 12 (42:46):
Yes, ma'am. A lot of it is like I got
to a point in Oneted, the first book, that somebody
asked me, why are you out in this why don't
you talk about yourself? So I get to a point
in there that I just start talking to my characters
about what cup place in my life growing up. And
(43:08):
I use some Bible scriptures in every one of my
books to show that God has been there by my
side the whole time, walking with me. Even now, as
Play continues to search for his soul mate, she's relying
on God to leading to her and eventually I believe
(43:31):
you will.
Speaker 2 (43:32):
Yeah, And we're not telling anyone the end of that.
By the way, you can go to George C. Mills
dot com slash Books. You can certainly go to Amazon
or Barnes and know any of the great places and
get the books for a song by the way, Kendall version, paperback,
however you like it, however you like to consume it.
One of the things that's interesting. And you talked about
(43:54):
the fact that you were in Desert storm and Desert
Shield and then you realize you had that opportunity, the
writing opportunity. Tell us about your service and thanks for that.
Speaker 12 (44:04):
I appreciate it. And if it wasn't for the good
people of America, it wouldn't be worth fighting for. But
we got a lot of millions of people that's good
American patriots, and I appreciate third honoring those veterans. And
it's not that I appreciate it, but I didn't do
it just for the word thanks and appreciate what you've done.
(44:29):
I've done it because of my love for this country.
That we have the freedom to talk and write that
we do and not have somebody standing there ready to
chop your head off. We're doing so and what I've
done over and there's a storm, there's a shield. I
was a fueral handler here at my hometown unit. We
(44:51):
got deployed it nineteen ninety and we trained up and
went over from what I'm understanding that we had the
largest fuel farm over there. I mean, we supplied the
fuel for the fore fighters and everything. We kept them
(45:12):
thrilled for them to make their maneuvers around during the combat.
I'm just glad it didn't last as long as it did. Yeah,
I just got married. I hadn't been married a month
and we got the call that was going overseas and
me being the new born, Uh, you married, I knew wid.
(45:36):
I didn't want to go, but I had to go
because that's what I found up to do and that's
what I'm going to do, serve my country the best
that I can and everything.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
And serving your country. And the way you did that,
the whole fueling aspect was so vital for both of
those operations. And I'm thinking it's probably long hours and
you didn't. You just were close with the people that
you worked with and you did what you had to do, right, yes, ma'am.
Speaker 12 (46:03):
And the funny thing about it is when we got
there to set up what was going to be staging
the field and everything, that it was a weddy night
because the bags, the field bags that we used was
picking us up off the ground. The wind was blowing
so hard. And when our first sergeant told us that
(46:25):
you changed shield, I went and got on the back
of wanting to uh uce and hat and fell asleep.
But the next morning when I woke up, I didn't
even recognize the place. I thought I hadn't been captured
by iraqis like where am I? I hadn't seen this
place like this because we gradually builded up as we
(46:47):
went during the night. And I'm kind of scared to
death when I woke up that morning. I kind of
talked about that in the book and everything.
Speaker 2 (46:57):
Yeah, and but but you survived and you came back
and again, thank you for your service. And now look
where life leads you. And this has been a really
fun journey for you, hasn't it, delving into writing these books.
Speaker 12 (47:09):
Yes, ma'am, it has. And I believe it seems Lawyer's
Clay faces Gloria's utimatum. I added a part in there
that a friend of mine was laughing so hard at
me telling it. I just had that added in there
because it was the way the friend was carrying on
(47:32):
and everything. She's laughing so hard, she was shaking. I said, Yep,
that's definitely going in the book. So that's what I
would And missus John, he's the character that play is
staying with. He got up walked out of the house
because he couldn't take it because he them too. They
(47:52):
get along pretty good, but they educate each other to
the point that Clay was just ready to leave. But
it was funny.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
Yeah, and I love and again, we're not spoiling the
books for anybody, but get these books. You will go
through them, one after the other after the other. You
just got to keep up with the readers and keep
writing those books. George Mills, it was great to speak
to you. Thanks for coming on the show.
Speaker 12 (48:15):
I appreciate you'll having you and I hopefully we talk
some other time.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
Maybe that would be great. Thank you, George.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
All right, thank you, Matt, Bye bye,
