Speaker 1 (00:03):
Revive us again, Revine us again.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Good morning to each of you that are joining us
on today. Hallylujah.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
High.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
I'm Pastor Ronnie Hooks of the Word of Life, John
one fourteen Church located here in Troy, Alabama. Halle lujah, hallelujah.
And the Word became flesh, and we beheld His glory,
that of the only begotten of the Father, full of
(00:41):
grace and truth. This script is very near and dear
to this ministry because it involves as we minister the
Word of God, whether it be preached word or the
taught word, or to teach to words. It is meant
(01:03):
to give you, as the scripture said Paul told Timothy
instructions unto righteousness, that we may be the living epistols,
that we may be give our bodies to God to
live through us, the Word living in us and working
(01:24):
through us, to show forth to the world God is real,
that we are free from sin, and that the opportunity
for anyone else is available as well to be free
(01:47):
to live a right and holy life. Hallelujah. Let's have
a word of prayer before we go any further. Father,
thank you again for your loving kindness and your tender mercies.
(02:10):
You are Alpha and Omega. You are the beginning and
the end. The earth belongs to you and everything in it,
even we your people. Every soul belongs to you, for
you are the creator of all souls. Your word declares
(02:34):
that there's not anything that is made that was not
made by you. We thank you for your son, Jesus Christ,
who came and paid the ransom for our sin. Are disobedience.
Through Adam, disobedience, sin came in. But through the man Christ, Jesus,
(02:58):
through his obedience, we have salvation. We have reconciliation back
unto you, and we thank you and give you praise.
Now the Father, I asked that to help me to decrease,
that you can increase, that the spirit of truth may
minister this your word to your people. It is you
(03:20):
who have given us to learn the tongue, and you
have opened up our ears to hear. I pray Lord,
that the that here here of what you are saying,
and not what I have to say, but what the
Spirit is saying to their spirit, that their souls may
be enlightened. Hollingia, we come against and buying the works
(03:46):
of the flesh. We come against the works of the
enemy of our soul, we buying his works. Even right
now we curse every spirit of deception, of distract, all principalities,
powers and spiritual wickedness and high places. We curse their,
(04:07):
their their attack upon us. For no weapon that is
formed against His shall prosperity. And every tongue that rises
against us in judgment, we condemn it right now in
Jesus name, Father, forgive us for our sins. Amen, and
amen again, we thank God for each of you that
are joining us on today. From the very beginning of
(04:42):
God creating man in his image and likeness, God wanted
a relationship with us. That's why he created us so
he can have a relationship with us, so we can
be joined to him. Because he told us, and the
word in Genesis that to let us talking speaking of
(05:06):
the Father God, the Father God, the Son and God
the Holy goes, let us make man in our image
and likeness. And after he made man, he began to
teach man. The beast of the fields, he made, the
(05:26):
creeping things, the files of the air, and the fish
of the sea. He made it, and he said, whatever
you call it, that's what it's going to be. He
began to teach man. He began to interact with man
to fulfill what his purpose was to make, to have
a relationship with us, to be one with us because
(05:46):
we are his creation willingly and not forcibly. He didn't
want to force himself on, but he wanted us to
will accept him and love him. Because we know, those
of us to know that have learned. We know that
Satan was kicked out of heaven because he tried to
(06:12):
riot take put his throne, so called throne above God's.
So God hadn't kicked out of heaven and one third
of the angels today, I want to talk to you
concerning not I, but the spirit of Christ that's in me.
(06:33):
I want to talk to you about joined to the Gift.
Joined to the Gift. Now that this title doesn't leave
you much to try to understand, but as we read
and share with you, it would unfold. It's stemming off
of what God's intent was to be joined to us. Okay,
(06:55):
but He's gonna he wants us to be joined back
to him through the gift, Joe, So we got to
join to the gift, join to the Gift, and we're
going to use to explain this as God has given
to us an example being joined to the wrong things,
(07:19):
or being how we deceive ourselves and how we are
in a mess because we have joined ourselves to things
that are not godly and they will lead to further ungodliness.
Now this is just an example of it. This is
(07:42):
just an example. I want you to turn with me.
Those of you are listening, turn with me to write
this down. First Corinthians, chapter six, First Corinthians, chapter six,
(08:02):
Please write it down. Write it down, First Corinthians, chapter six.
I'm trying to be more thoughtful of those of you
who are writing. Not move so fast, so we can
(08:29):
help in you getting an understanding of what it is
that the Lord is conveying to us. Works not just
to you, but to me too. I thought about this
as the Lord gave it to me, and it really
resonates with me as well, humbling myself. We're going to
(08:49):
start at verse twelve through twenty verse twelve through twenty.
Those of you who have the King James version, it
may be title, or it may or may not be
titled Flee sexual immorality, Flee sexual immorality. So we're going
(09:17):
to use this lesson that Paul ministered to the people
because there was in Carith there was a lot of
promer security going on, lewdness and authortication going on, and
men not just men sleeping, but men sleeping with women
(09:41):
that weren't their wives, women sleeping with men that work
their husbands. And we're going to see how what this
means while this comes together, and how this is can
help us understand a by joining ourselves to get ever
Verse twelve, Paul starts out by telling them all things
(10:07):
are lawful unto me, speaking of himself, but all things
are not expedient, expedient, all things are not expedient. All
things are not lawful for me. But I will not
(10:28):
be brought under the power of enemy, So the end
of any okay, So now he I want to explain
this as I go. Hallelujah, it's lawful. Now Paul is
now a Christian. He can choose who he gonna serve.
(10:51):
Now he's free from the law of sin because of
he received Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. He can choose.
But now that he's received this gift that has been
given to him by God, he doesn't want to squander
it by allowing something to come into his life. That
(11:17):
is powerful enough to control him in an ungodly manner.
So he says, I will not be brought under the
power of any So now he's determined within hisself because
it is lawful, I can do it if I choose to.
(11:39):
But it's not lawful for me. I'm declared, he said,
I'm declaring. It is not lawful for me. Now he's
holding that gift that God has given him and cherishing it.
He sees that the possibility of love that gift is evident,
(12:04):
and if he accepts something in his life that can
possibly control him in the adverse way Verse three, verse thirteen. Further,
he said, meats are for the belly, and the belly
for meats. Right, you eat and it goes into the stomach.
(12:26):
But God shall destroy both it and them. See, your
body's gonna be destroyed. He destroyed it once by water.
Then he said, next time you were by fire. Hallylujah.
Now the body is not for fornication. Now the body
(12:46):
is not for fornication, but for the Lord. Why, because
we give ourselves once we die to sin, we have
given this which he further talks about in Romans. He said,
the corner mind is the enemy of God need, then
(13:07):
deed can do the will of God. So he gives
hisself over to God to walk in the spirit of Christ. Okay,
so he says, Now the body is not for fornication.
So if I'm going to live a godly life or
holy life, I got to live by the law of God,
(13:27):
and the law of God. Says. If a man burns,
let him get married. If you want to. If you
want uhh. If you want marital blessings, get married, blessings
(13:47):
that come with marriage. Marriage is ordained by God. Get married.
So he said, now, now the body is not for fornication,
having ungodly relationship with a woman or a man outside
outside of the covenant of marriage God their marriage. I'm
not talking about man made marriage, whether you can marry
(14:09):
man marriages a man, a woman marriage a woman, or
you getting married illegally. I'm talking about a marriage that
is ordained by the vowels of God, holy matrimony. But
the Lord and the Lord for the body. So now
(14:29):
we received. When you remember when you Romans ten ninetey ten,
you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ, and
believe in your heart that God raised him the dead
doubts shall be saved. Okay, you invite Jesus to come
into your heart to be your Lord and savior. So
you don't you know I belong to yourself anymore? Now
(14:52):
he comes in to make your body the temple of God.
Why because at one time, remember we're joined to a gift.
At one time God had relationship with man. But now
he has to regain that relationship through a gift that
(15:13):
he's given us. Hallelujah, and the Lord for the body
so he can live in us to do the works
that are needed that are needed to be done to
make us one with him, to be joined with him.
(15:35):
Verse fourteen. And God has both raised up the Lord
by his spirit and will also raise up us by
his own power. Okay. Now there are powers that are
(15:57):
that we have access to that would take us away
from God. Their powers by God that will bring us
to God. Okay Verse fifteen, know ye not that your
(16:17):
bodies are the members of Christ. Remember, because He's come
into your heart. Shall I then take the members of
Christ and make them the members of a hearted? So
he associates your illegal relationship with this woman or with
this man and being a hearted. So shall I take
(16:45):
that which is wholly in me, my relationship with Christ,
the gift that is in me, and now expose it
to Christ. God forbid. Told told his disciples in one
place in the Book of John. He said, I won't
(17:10):
be able to say much to you now, because the
principle of this world cometh, and he have nothing in me.
You ain't gonna bear. You're not gonna want to listen
to me very much, because he comes, but he doesn't
have anything in me. So Paul is saying, here shall
(17:31):
I make his his presence in me? Members of a heart?
Parlat God forbid Verse sixteen. What know ye not that
he which is joined to a harlet is one body?
And listen to this, He which is joined to harley
(17:51):
is one body. But he that has committed fornication senteth
against his own body. He committed for location, sinneth against
his own body. The temple that you've now given to God.
You're sinning against that agreement that you have with God
(18:12):
to make your heart a dwelling place for him. Hallelujah,
the temple of the Holy Gholst know ye not that
your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which
is in you, which ye have of God, and ye
are not your own. You don't belong to yourself anymore.
(18:37):
Hallelujah and verse twenty, for ye are bought with a price. Therefore,
glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which
are God's. So when you receive Jesus into your heart
(18:58):
as your savior, now he becomes your lord, your master, teacher.
He's teaching you those things that pertain to God. Remember,
because he wants to make He's forming the same word
that he used to form and frame the world. Is
the same word that he used to make everything. And
(19:19):
he wants to create in you a clean heart and
renew a right spirit within you through the same word,
so you don't belong to yourself anymore. He goes on
to tell in Romans twelve one and two, I beseech
you there, man, I beg you. I beg you, brothers,
(19:40):
present your bodies to God as a living sacrifice, holy
acceptable unto God, which is your reasable service. And get this,
he tells him, to be transformed by the renewing of
your mind, so you can prove what is that good
and acceptable in perfect will of God. We're talking about
being to the gift hallelujah. What makes one jointed to
(20:10):
someone or something? What makes us joined to someone or something?
In this particular passage, Fortnication is the vehicle or the
method used to introduce and strengthen the power of this
union together. Fornication is used hollow you making them one.
(20:37):
Look at this. You can be slim, right, fit, eating
the right foods, eating a balanced diet. But as soon
as your balance, your diet becomes unbalanced, you start eating
a lot of fatty foods, a lot of carbohydrates. When
(21:00):
and unmonitored and unregulated, that leanness turns to what fat excess, right,
and with that excess comes a lot of problems. Fat
attentions begin to formulate around the heart and the living,
all of those things, those organs, those vital organs that
(21:23):
are in your body. What to maintain your body? Now,
the body is not only doing the work that God
designed it to do, but it's struggling to do the
work because it has something that is alien or alien
to it that's not supposed to be there, constricting it
(21:47):
all right, in the same way, look at here, Because
of our lust, the lust of the eye, the lust
of the flesh, the product of life, our desires awaken.
Our desires awaken. Now is found it in one John two,
(22:11):
fifteen and sixteen. Write it down, Write it down. I
want you to see this for yourself. First John chapter two,
verse fifteen and sixteen. James Chapter one, verse fourteen, James
Chapter one, verse fourteen, John one, John chapter two, verse
fifteen and sixteen. Now, through the lust of the luster
(22:37):
of the flesh, and the pride of life, these desires
are become alive, and they awaken. Okay, And these are
from the world. These are not from God. These are
from the world. Why sin came in and and and
corrupted the world. These things come from the world. And
(23:02):
the love of the Father is not in him. When
you allow the lust of the eye, and the lust
of the flesh and the pride of life to control you.
This is what Paul was talking about. I will not
be held under the power of any when you allow
them to control you. Hallelujah. The love of God is
(23:26):
not in you. I just gave you the scripture to
prove that, James one fourteen. But every man is tempted
when he has drawn away of his own lust and enticed.
That's James one fourteen. Every man, you didn't say some man,
(23:46):
every man, man, woman, boy, a child. Every man is tempted.
Every man is tempted when he is drawn away of
his own lust and entice. First John two, verse five
point fifteen and sixteen. Love not the world, neither of
(24:09):
the things that are in the world. If any man
loved the world or own, If any man loved the world,
the love of the Father is not in hell. I'm
giving you scripture. I'm not giving you Pastor Hoots's opinion.
(24:31):
If any man loved the world, now you gotta declare.
You've got to determine where your allegiance lie. Do you
want to keep on doing things the way you want
to do them, or do you want to be led
by the spirit to do things in the right manner?
Hallelujah Verse sixteen. For all that are in the world,
(24:54):
the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye,
and the pride of life is not of the Father,
but of the world. They're not from the Father. They
are not of the Father, but they're of the world.
(25:18):
Scripture tells us, if you love the world, the love
of God is not in you. It's like this, two
opposing forces, the sins of the world and the glory
of God. God is trying to get you come back
to Him to be joining him, and the world is
(25:40):
trying to get you to disobey Him. So it gives.
It puts in your eye, It puts in your lust,
It puts in your flesh, desires, fall, flesh, the things
of this world. It's not just drinking, it's not just gambling.
(26:04):
It's not just fornicating. It can be too much of
anything that you put before God. Those are just some
of the things that will carry us away from God. Hallelujah.
Look at what Jesus says. Jesus speaks to the Book
(26:32):
of John six sixty three John Saint John, chapter six,
verse sixty three. It is the spirit that quickeness, that
means to bring to life your life. It is a
spirit small s. It is a spirit that giveth life. Okay,
(26:58):
God capital s is the Holy Spirit, the small spirit
of the Spirit that God breatheth in us, breathes in
us and through the spirit. In Romans chapter eight, he
says that the Spirit bears witness with our spirit that
we are a son of God and then breathing to
(27:18):
us life. Jesus said, it is the spirit that quickened.
The flesh prophet is nothing. The words that listen, the
words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and
they are life. So what is he saying? Hallelujah? He's
(27:40):
saying that through the words, because Jesus the Master teacher,
I'm breathing into you. I'm teaching you the same thing
that God was doing with Adam. I'm teaching you the
way of life that I live. God was teaching Adam
(28:03):
from the very beginning when he told him to name
the beasts of the fear, the fouls of the air,
the creeping thing he was teaching him. Remember, the Bible
says that God breathed into man's nose when man became
a living soul, and that act of breathing just didn't
stop when he It continued as he was teaching. He
(28:26):
was breathe upon him. Remember when Jesus, the Bible says,
Jesus breathe upon them and the Holy Ghost fell. Hallelujah,
Glory to God. The words that I speak unto you,
they are spirit in their life. And follow me here uh.
(28:49):
First Corinthians six sixteen in seventeen. First Corinthians six sixteen
and seventeen says now here we're Paul speaking again. What
know ye not that he which is joined to a
(29:11):
hearted is one body? And then for two said he
shall become one flesh. Which got to reading that, remember
when Paul told him the twoth shall become one flesh.
But he that is joining to the Lord is one spirit. Okay,
(29:38):
So we want to be joined to Christ, to be
joined to the Father. No man coming to the Father,
but by me, Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth,
and the Life. He's not only the son of God,
but he is the Word of God that became flesh
and dwelt among us. Okay. He's not only that, but
he's the media. He's not only that, but he's a
(30:01):
good shepherd who tells us a stranger's voice, you will
not follow. He's not only that, but he's the porter.
He's not only that, but he's the door. He's not
only that, but he's the Lamb of God. Hallelujah, worry
to God, hallelujah. Listen. The gift, the gift that we
(30:27):
tell Joined to the gift, Joined to the gift, Join
to the gift. Life is a gift. Let me let
that settle in life is a gift. Did you go
to God and bargain with him for it?
Speaker 1 (30:50):
No.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
God knew you when you before before. Listen to this.
Before you you were in your mother's wound. God knew
you and He had plans for you. Listen to this.
Life is a gift. The privilege to know that God
gave you life is a gift. Everything that you have
(31:18):
is a gift. Even the error that you breathe is
a gift. All that is is created of God and
by God. God the Father, God the Son, and God
the Holy Ghost are one. Hallelujah. These three work together
(31:40):
to help us and how to live with these gifts
that He has given us. These three. It takes the
three to help us to learn how to live with
the gifts that He has given us. Hallelujah. When we
(32:01):
get a gift, listen to this. When we get a gift,
you need to learn how to use it properly right
or in other words, learn how to use it right. Amen.
That's where faith comes in. These three, the Father, the Son,
(32:25):
the Holy Ghost work together to give us instructions and
how to use the gift of life right. And that's
an every day interaction with the Father. Every day, every day,
I got to go to God because life is so
(32:49):
critically fragile. Life is so fradule, you can lose it. Hallelujah, hallelujah.
Since it is given to us, we don't have to
work for it. Right y'all follow me. We're talking about
(33:13):
join to the gift. Since life is given to us,
we don't have to work for it. We just need
to know how to work in it. We just need
to know how to work in it. And God has
given us each a plan for your gift of life.
(33:33):
He tells us that every man must work out his
own salvation with fear and trembling. Let these three help
you to become one with the Father. Last, but not least,
(33:55):
God gave us his love in his son. First, he
came while we were rebellious and didn't know him, sinful
to the core in our hearts. God came to us. Secondly,
(34:15):
he shows us what the Father's character is like in
how to live with us. God is long, suffering and patient, kind,
meet lowly, a gentle goodness. All of those things the
characteristics of God towards us. Thirdly, he died so we
(34:37):
can have access to the Father. It is a father
who does the works. Jesus said, it's my father to
do with the works. So God has made a way
to dwell in us through his son Jesus Christ, so
he can do the works in you that are needed.
(35:00):
Because God gave you the life right now, he wants
to be in you to carry it out for you.
That's what an under need of repentance, humbling yourself under
(35:20):
the mighty hand of God. Every day is a challenge
to do this. Every day is a challenge to do
this joined to the gift. God gives us the gift,
(35:40):
and then he asked us to help to allow him
to work the gift out for us. All we have
to do is say yes Lord and obey. You can
(36:00):
look at it like this, having a test, but having
a cheat seat, having a cheat sheet right there next
to the test, legally, having a cheat sheet right there
to fulfill the test. Legally, all you gotta do is
(36:22):
put what's on the cheat sheet on the sheet and
you pass. In this case, he comes in to deliver,
you receive him, and then he comes in you to
do the work for you. He already got the plan
what he wants you to do. If he'sus to intend
(36:45):
for ye are my workmanship created in Christ Jesus, unto
good works that have already ordained for you to do.
God already got it planned while you're trying to think
about it. God already got it planned for you. And
look here, I know we have. I had plans in
(37:07):
my life when I went to college and when I
was a musician. I was wanting to be this and
that and the other and all of this. I was
wanting to be famous. I was going to have money.
I'm going to have a house, kids and all that
that went with it. But God had other plans for me,
and he used my mistakes to work out that plan.
(37:28):
And I thank God that he did. I thank God
I couldn't. Every day is not easy. Every day doesn't
go the way that I may think it should go.
But I'm learning to let go and let God have
his way each day and not plan for the day,
but to allow the plans that God has for me
(37:50):
to unfold before me. And I find out this, I'm
a lot happier because it is God's plan and not mine.
I'm a lot more at peace because it's God's planning,
not mine. I'm a lot more secure because it's what
God's planning, not mine. Hallelujah. Join to the gift. Join
(38:28):
yourself to the gift of life. The world does it
like this. If you want a car, you got to
work for it. Hello, somebody. If you want a house,
you gotta work for it. You want a job, you
got to go to school to work for it. Right
m in God's kingdom, he said, you want this here, now,
(38:50):
let me come in and teach you how to handle it.
Come without money and purchase, get milk, get what you need.
But I have to pay for it. Here it's yours. Now,
let me help you to use it. God to God.
(39:15):
The last verse one John two and seventeen says this.
One John two and seventeen says this. And I want
you all to know this. This world is going to
pass away, he said. And the world passeth away. Remember
(39:36):
where all those lusts came from, and the lust thereof.
But he that doeth the will of God abided. Forever
do the will, be a doer of the word, be
led of the spirit, and don't fulfill the lust of
(40:01):
the flesh. Don't fulfill the loss of the flesh. My
prayer is that you take these things and ponder them,
because we in some perilous times right now, and men
(40:26):
truly have become lovers of themselves, lovers of the world,
lovers of their stuff, their richest, lovers of money, their
power that they have, lovers of that, and they become
trying to rule over others. They're oppressing others in order
(40:54):
to get what they want. Greed puffed up and then
said else, high minded, glory, hallelujah. And many of them
don't know that they need to be delivered from that,
that mindset, that heart, that heart's belief. They believe that
(41:20):
they're right. But God has given us this awesome opportunity.
Those who are the righteousness of God, those who are
His that don't love the world, but truly love God,
to be examples of righteousness in this world. We are
their hope, because why Christ lives in us, the hope
(41:42):
of glory. They see Him in us. Amen, they see
Him in us. He said, if I be lifted up,
I would draw all men unto myself. Let's pray, Father,
(42:02):
you have given us life, and you, from the very
beginning you said, let us make man in our image
and likeness God, the Father, God, the Son, God, the
Holy ghos on one Jesus prayed, Lord, make them one
even as we are one. It is through your word, Lord,
(42:24):
but it's also through our humbling ourselves under your mighty
hand and allowing you to work through us, excuse me,
allowing you to work in us and through us, hallelujah,
so that we can be made into Your image and likeness,
(42:48):
so that men and women, boys and girls will see
Christ and see hope for their lives as well. Forgive
us for our sins, purge your from our inequities, and
about our transgressions for us. In thy son Jesus name,
we do pray. Amen and amen. Now if you have
(43:10):
prayed that prayer and you varied this word on today,
you have the awesome opportunity to receive Jesus Christ as
your Lord and savior. We all need help. We all
need him to come in and be that temple within
us that God can dwell in to do this work
(43:32):
in us in this life that we have, so we
can become one with Him. If that's something that you want,
