Speaker (00:32):
Riding like Jet Lawrence.
Oi, wake up Jacks Bonniewhispered loudly from the
backseat as the van turned downa dirt road lined with palm
trees in the state of FloridaJack's wiped the asleep from his
eyes and looked out the window.
A massive motocross track spreadout in front of them like a
playground Built by legends.

(00:53):
Whoops.
Tabletops, triples, berms andrhythm sections.
As far as the eye could see, they'd made it to the dog pound
Jet.
Lawrence's private trainingcompound in Florida.
Is that him?
Jack's pointed to a riderfloating effortlessly over a big
jump.
Elbows.
Outstanding.
Tall on the pegs.
Yep.

(01:13):
Said Mitch.
Pulling the van into park.
That's jet.
The smoothest rider in theworld.
Bonnie's eyes sparkled.
I can't believe we're gonna ridewith him today.
They jumped out of the van andbegan unloading their bikes as
they tightened their gear andchecked their tire pressure.
The sound of a Honda 4 54 strokerumbled up behind them.
Goodday legends.

(01:35):
Jet called out as he slid to astop.
You're ready to learn how toride like me.
Jack and Bonnie nodded so hard.
Their helmets nearly flew off.
They were nervous but excited.
They'd met their hero.
Jet Lawrence.
Alright, jet grinned.
Today we're gonna focus on flow.
That means standing moresitting, less bouncing from bump

(01:55):
to bump.
No bulldozing over the bumps, just glide softly over them like
I do.
He revved his bike and wheeledaway toward the track.
Jack and Bonnie scrambled tofollow, hopping on their bikes
and tearing off after jet.
Jet had them start on a mellowrhythm section full of rolling
bumps and gentle.
Whoops.
Stand tall jet called over hisshoulder.

(02:17):
Don't lock your knees, let thebike move under you.
Jack stood up, knees bent andhit the bumps.
The first few kicked him in thebutt, but by the third lap, he
was floating over them just likeJet.
Bonnie followed.
Close behind standing high andlight.
This feels like riding on waves.
She said.
Jet pulled up beside them.
Now, try landing on the downsideof each bump, not just smashing

(02:40):
through them.
Use the fo smooth.
Don't pin it.
Just blip it when you need tohop one section.
Jack shifted his weight bouncedoff.
One roller landed on the nextwith a grip of the throttle and
rock.
He was doing it.
He shouted, I can ride like jetover these bumps.
You're a natural jet wings.
Now let's hit some berms.

(03:01):
The berms at the dog pound werehuge, the size of mountains.
Curved walls of red dirt thatbegs to be blasted.
Watch me jet said before carvinginto one like a surfer.
He stood through the whole turnoutside, foot weighted head
forward, and blasting sand allover the back of the berm.
Jack's dropped in next, copyingthe form.

(03:22):
Wait.
On the outside peg elbows up.
Jet yelled Jack's roostedthrough the turn and came out,
cleaned the other side.
Bonnie charged him behind himyelling Yha through her helmet
and blew through the corner witha rooster towel of dirt flying
behind.
Nice work.
Jet nodded you two ride likelegends.

(03:42):
They spent the next hour jumpingjet, taught them how to preload
the suspension before takingoff.
Crouch down, compress the bike, then let it launch.
Stand before the lip.
He explained.
Look at your landing.
Stay loose in the air.
Bonnie hit a double lifted offthe lip and flew through the air
from her eyes wide.
She floated.
She was afraid she was gonna gotoo long, but she just landed on

(04:03):
the down ramp with a thud.
I did it.
She squealed.
Jack's followed flying off thesame jump and he yelled me
there.
I'm flying jet You are bothlittle rippers.
Jet laugh.
Let's take a break.
They pulled off the track andparked under a shady tree.
Mitch handed out water bottleswhile they caught their breath.

(04:24):
My legs are jelly jack'sgroaned.
That's how you know you'relearning.
Said jet stretching his arms.
When I train, I focus on beingsmooth and fast, not just fast.
If you're slamming into stuff, you get tired quick.
The trick is to ride withrhythm.
Bonnie nodded.
It's like dancing, but on dirt.
After lunch, jet bought out hisfull factory race bike.

(04:45):
Want to see the big dog bark?
He grinned the bite.
Looked like something from thefuture.
Buttons on the handlebars.
Carbon fiber bits everywhere.
And it sounded like the mostpowerful bike they'd ever heard.
This baby's built for war.
Jet said it's got maps I canswitch mid-race, launch control,
and more torque than a tractor.
Jack's jaw dropped.

(05:05):
Can I sit on it?
Sure.
Jet smiled.
Jack climbed on gripping thebars.
Now imagine blasting into a rutfull of speed.
Standing as long as you can.
Your outside foot, down yourbody forward.
Yeah.
Jack's whispered.
I feel fast already.
Just standing on your bike.
They finished the day with arace around the full track.
Jack gave them a head start.

(05:26):
I'm gonna chase you down and seeif I can catch you.
I think you're gonna need thathead start.
Jackson and bonnie lifted therevs and then they took off.
They rounded the first corner, sent it over the first few
jumps, and then outta the cornerof their eye, they saw Jet
Lawrence take off after them.
Oh no.
They yelled at each other.
He's coming, and he's definitelygonna catch us if we don't go

(05:49):
fast.
Bonnie flew off a tabletop andyelled, bro, just pin it in the
air.
Jack's tucked into a rut.
Feet up standing through theexit.
No, don't just hold the throttleopen.
Remember what Jet told us?
Be smooth with the throttle.
Jet closed the gap.
The kids could see him catchingup.
Hold it on.
Bonnie yelled.
Hold it on.
He's catching us.

(06:10):
Jack's leaned in standing tallas he flew over the last double.
Jet passed him in the airscrubbing underneath him, I can
see you.
He yelled out as he went pastthem, they all crossed the line
cheering and hooting.
as they went round the lastcorner, they saw a jet drifting
and sliding perfectly across thefinish line.
That jet said was epic..

(06:32):
As the sun dipped low, turningthe sky orange, they loaded the
bikes back into the van.
Bonnie looked back at the track.
I never wanna leave The dog.
Pound is like heaven.
You know what's awesome?
Said, jacks.
We didn't just ride.
We learned and we learned fromthe best Jet Lawrence, you two
rode like champions today, said,Mitch, you're smooth, smart, and

(06:52):
having fun.
That's what it's all about.
Jet came over for a final highfive.
Keep riding to have fun.
Remember flow.
Don't fight the bike.
You don't need to be thestrongest, just the smartest.
They waved goodbye.
The dog pound disappearingbehind'em as the van rumbled off
down the dirt.
I'm gonna stand up everywherenow.
Jack said I'm gonna bounce frombump to bump like a kangaroo

(07:16):
Bonnie said.
And then together theywhispered.
Any day on a dirt bike is a goodday, especially when you ride
with Jet Lawrence.
