For every episode of Inner Voices with the Australian String Quartet, we commission and feature a new piece of music created with samples from that episode's subject. 

This episode's sampler was created by Jason Sweeney (he/him), a composer, musician and filmmaker based on Kaurna Yarta / Adelaide. Since 2003 Jason has collaborated with leading arts companies (State Theatre Company SA, Restless Dance Theatre, Patch Theatre, Chunky Move, Force Majeure, Closer Productions, Performance Space, Arts House, pvi collective, Theatre Republic) and internationally (SPILL Festival, SOIT, Banff Centre). Over the last decade Jason created a trilogy of sound-based works focused on quietness, including Stereopublic which won a TED Prize (City2.0, 2013), Silent Type (2014) and the 2016 research odyssey, Quiet Ecology. In 2022-2023 he made new scores for ANTIGONE (State Theatre Company SA) and Astrid Pill’s ‘I Hide In Bathrooms’. In 2024 he released the song cycle called ‘Ageism’. In 2024 he composed for Rebecca Meston's 'Hits', Theatre Republic's 'The Almighty Sometimes', Cirkidz 'Stacks On' and was the co-curator of Adhocracy at Vitalstatistix. He releases music internationally under the names Panoptique Electrical and Sweeney.

"When asked to make an ambient electronic music response that integrates ASQ's recording of Schumann’s String Quartet in A major Op.41 No.3 I began by listening for the swells and waves of notes and chords that would swim beautifully alongside this analogue synth loop. I took elements of the ASQ recording and transposed, pitch shifted, time-stretched and re-sampled various moments out of the full 20 minutes of Schumann and create
