(00:02):
Welcome to the Adaptive Mindset. I'm Brett Gallant, cybersecurity thoughtleader and founder of Adaptive Office Solutions. Here, we
don't just talk tech, we unlock the strategies, stories, andmindset shifts you need to stay secure, lead boldly, and
thrive in a digital world. Let's get started. Welcomeback to the Adaptive Mindset. I am
(00:25):
really pleased to be here today, solo, onceagain, reflecting on
an incredible week. I hadthe opportunity the last week to meet with over,
I would say on over a hundred incredible entrepreneurs, leaders from all over the world at Dan
(00:50):
Martell's AI Summit and Social SellingSummit. There were people from Australia, people
from the United States, people from all parts ofthe United States and all parts of Canada coming
together to learn, inspire, andget that extra edge to go further in their business, their
(01:20):
I think the big reflection on this episode isabout community, about who
we become and how we share and the mindset we bringand go out and show
to others about who we are. Alongthe way, there was so many great elements
(01:44):
of content that I picked up at this event. Everythingfrom how to position yourself when
you're sharing your content on social media, being authentic, sharing your journey, having
a format and a strategy onhow to reach out to people, Amongst
(02:12):
many other things, there was stories, there wassome great content from Dan's CEO,
talked about company culture and values, whichI believe is vitally important in any
business, in any organization. Butthe real big takeaway on top of all that
(02:37):
incredible first day with the social selling was the AI summit. Askyourself right now, how many of you are actually leveraging AI?
How are you using it? What are you using itfor? I've been
sharing this for a while now. Ihave a note here that I have at the bottom
(03:02):
of my screen that says, how can AI help me dothis better? And by
going to this event, I acquired some new skills onhow to use AI better in new ways that
I didn't even consider. In fact, forthose of you listening, if you have not tried using
(03:26):
AI with making use of what a master promptis. I would highly encourage you to do that. If you're
not familiar with what it is, DM me master onInstagram and I'll send you a link to
a video that'll explain it better. But I really encourage youto investigate using that and
(03:48):
go beyond. usingAI for just your business. Don't use it just for
email. I've actually been using it for differentprojects that I'm working on in business, operationally, and
even some challenges I have in my ownday-to-day life. I use it as a sparring partner. I
(04:11):
actually have used it with spinning up my own AIvirtual board of directors. I don't give
it full control on what I'm thinking. I just useit as an extension of my brain. And that's
the big thing we have to recognize that whenwe're living our day to day and we have this mindset,
(04:36):
I think it's really important to recognize that the mindset ofentertaining and using a tool that's
perhaps the most revolutionary toolthat we've ever had available, it
would be kind of silly not to entertain using it. Somy mindset in using AI is
(05:00):
to go all in anduse it to enhance what I'm already doing, but to go further and faster.
And so as much I've enabledmy team to use AI every day. And I
had the great pleasure of working with my brother-in-lawthis weekend to help him with his career, teaching
(05:27):
him some of the skills I've done. And it gaveme so much energy to show him how he
could use it and seeingthe time savings and the sparring of ideas that
just will help him in his own day-to-day. Iknow that
(05:55):
some of you are on different parts of a journey, and Ijust want to encourage you to go all in and have that mindset of
trying AI. Dabble in a little bit.
Give it a go. Another keytakeaway though, there's so many lessons I've learned from being
away this past week. Iwent with intention of expanding my horizons. Typically,
(06:26):
I'm a person who likesto have a quiet evening. When
I'm away, I'll stay in and maybe go to the gymor go for a long hike. But I decided
to take another direction. Idecided that it was time. No, Brett, you're going to connect
(06:48):
and meet with people. I'm so glad Idid. Instead of after the conference or
at lunchtime going back to the hotel and going for awalk on my own, I went for lunch with so many
great, incredible people I met. manyinteresting people with all aspects of life, met other people that
(07:11):
were in my field, cybersecurity. We had some great conversations. I meta pharmacy business owner. I met people that are experts in
social media, experts in marketing. Butwe all had this common desire to
improve ourselves. So meeting meetingthese people and breaking bread and having conversations, having
(07:33):
good laughs was so much more enrichingthan going back to the hotel and spending
time by myself. Now, don't get me wrong, I would still verymuch would like to do that. But doing this
was one of the biggest growth opportunities inmy own mindset of pushing myself outside
(07:56):
my comfort zone. Theother thing I know I've shared publicly, and I'll
continue to share my journey. I'm on the road to 200, whichis, for those who are just listening, I've
been around the same weight for the last sevenor eight months, and I decided to go
(08:22):
all in. So by December31st, I'm going to be at 200 pounds. So
I did do meal prep. I had the mindset thatI said, hey, I can't follow or eat healthy while I'm away, originally
a long time ago. But I went to this event bringingmy scale for weighing myself daily.
(08:47):
I brought the scale for weighing my food. Originally, likeI shared, I was going to just meal prep all the time, but
I pivoted. I did meal prep for someof my meals, but I made better choices when
I went out for lunch, followed my mealAnd normally,
(09:14):
in the past when I would go to events and not follow a structure, Iwould gain weight. But I came
back from this event releasinga pound and a half. And how is that possible? Well,
it's possible by just making a decision. A decisionthat you put yourself first, make good decisions,
(09:43):
still live your life and get out there. Sothat was a huge shift in my own mindset. And
I'm so grateful for myability to recognize that, to meet
with the people and to still lose theMy favorite event from
(10:14):
And this is why I think community isso important. Tuesday, every
Tuesday in Kelowna, Dan Martell has aFounders Hike. And the people
from both events, we went to this incredible, greathiking location, Knox Mountain. There was close
(10:38):
to 200 people, if not more. It's 6.30 inthe morning, getting up, getting
ready to go and just hikethis mountain half an hour up and half an hour down. And
what was really incredible, what I really liked, it wasthe interaction I had with the two young boys
(11:03):
that were there selling peaches. They sawan opportunity to make a little money to
help themselves with a business venture. Theywere selling peaches for a dollar and they were making a killing. And
I know they were inspired by Dan. Dan hasbeen doing this great event
(11:29):
for youth in his community called Kings Club. Anyways, backto the point of this though. Imagine close
to 200 people climbing up a mountain together.
I like to think I'm in pretty good shape.
I felt great. Ihad, I was going up and I was getting so tired. I
(11:51):
said, no, I'm not going to quit. I'm not, I don'tthink for a second, I was going to go back. It was just going to stop. There
was about two or three times I was, I was going to stop, but Ihad about 20 or 30 people behind me. And finally I
found a place where I could stop for a second, just to catch my breath. AndI stopped for about five seconds and somebody came and gave me a fist bump,
(12:13):
let's go. So I went and gotup to the top of this mountain with
all these entrepreneurs and we were high-fiving eachother. There was one man, as we each came
up the last step of stairs, there's a staircase at the very top. Hewas fist bumping each and every one of us, cheering us
(12:36):
on because Weall accomplished something great together that day. And we
were just people living life, feelingfulfilled. The picture at the end
and the breath, the breathtaking view was so incredible. Itwas so incredible that the next day I went
(12:59):
myself at six in the morning and climbed it again. And hada little bit more time and reflection, and I sat
up there for about 20 minutes with gratitude, gratitudefor all the blessings in my life, blessings
(13:20):
for my beautiful wife, my wonderful children, my five children, myteam, this wonderful business, and to
live in this wonderful community I have the great fortuneof living in. It's
really important to remember to have that gratitude reflection. Andthere's no better place, at least for me, of
(13:43):
looking over a beautiful city after sweating andhaving some time to think. So keeping
with this theme of community, Iknow at the very end, I went back to the hotel,
checked out, checked in with the team. When Iwas checking out, I had great interaction with the person
(14:07):
at the reception, had a good say. Iwas walking away, and I remember the wonderful breathing
I had from the person that was working the first day. Shewas exceptional, kind, helpful, went out of her way. I
was walking away and Iwanted to just turn around and say to this lady
(14:35):
that you were incredible on the first day that I was being checkedin and I almost
didn't do it, but I turned around and I did it. AndI know I made an incredible impact on her day. She
was so grateful. And I felt great as well. Sothe lesson here, when we're talking about making
(15:04):
an impact and mindset, Ithink it's really important that we tell people how much
of an impact they've had on our day. Random actsof kindness are so incredible. And with that,
I just want to wish you all anincredible week ahead and
(15:26):
let you know how grateful I am to be able to do this, to share theselittle takeaways that I have with you. Cause
we're all on this earth for one reason, to make an impact, toshare the best of who we are and give
our best every day. Andif this has resonated with you, please let me know if you
(15:51):
ever had a moment like that where somebody said something kind toyou or where you stepped up out of your comfort zone
and made a difference for yourself and did something that younormally wouldn't do. And if you haven't done that,
I challenge you to do that step out of your comfort zone this week. Ormaybe that there's these times where this little voice
(16:16):
is saying I should say something to let them know how much Iappreciate them. Do it this week. Step
out. Take a moment. Have that mindset todo it. You're going to be glad you did. I know I was. And
with that, Have a incredible week, andI'm so grateful to be able to do this and speak with
(16:38):
you each and every week. Takecare. Thanks for tuning into the Adaptive
Mindset. If you found value in today's episode, don't forgetto subscribe, leave a review, and share it with someone who's
