And we walk came into the Meyer High School scoreboard
show on ninety six to one in the game. Will
be building in just a little bit on one oh
seven mus the moves. We've got scores, We've got interviews
lined up already. What a wail of a game. Our
ninety six to one game of the week. Hudsonville jumps
out to a twenty eight nothing lead over Rockford at
Rockford looks like they're gonna run him right off their
own home court, but Rockford fights back. They score twenty
(00:26):
one straight in the third second half rather make it
a seven point game before Hudsonville retaliates with a touchdown
make a thirty five to twenty one. But the Rams
weren't done. They come back with a late scoring touchdown
with just about three and a half to go, but
Hudsonville gets the ball back, runs out the clock, and
Hudsonville wins it by account thirty five to twenty eight.
In the Okay Red, we're also gonna have a report
shortly from Granville Jennison. Very exciting game. Granville holds off
(00:50):
Jennison thirty one to twenty six. Jennison rally to the
second half to take a twenty six to twenty five
lead before Granville scored on an eighty hour touchdown run.
Our Mike Lee will have full details on that game
a little bit later on. Grandville wins at thirty one
twenty six. East kent Went bounces with a nice win
three and one in the Red five and one overall
is the overwhelmed West Auto of forty five to eight.
Also in the Red, Caledonia beat Grand Haven by account
(01:11):
of twenty eight to six, and the Oka Black Tonight,
Catholic Central beat Ottawa Hills fifty eight to nothing. With
that win, Catholic Center becomes just the fourth school in
the entire state of Michigan to have seven hundred all
time wins in high school football. Seven hundred wins. They
joined Muskegan and Our Pioneer and Menominee as the other
three schools that have won four hundred whale of a game.
(01:32):
We're trying to get that final thorn Uvill, Kellogg and
North who we're thirty thirty in overtime at last report.
We're trying to get that one to you. Also a
big game in the OK Black, Hollan Christian East Grand
Rapids battling at the home of the Pioneers, and our
Remy Monahan was there.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Reporting from Memorial Stadium at East Grand Rapids High School.

Meyer High School Scoreboard. Show summary. This report is presented

it in a snap final score from a more sum
East Grand Rapids forty one, Holland Christian twenty one. The
Pioneers picked up their second conference win in a row
(02:06):
tonight in the Okay Black. They started the scoring with
a quick run from quarterback Josh McComb that was quickly
followed up by a Holland Christian score a ninety six
yard kickoff return from Isaiah Meerd, but they missed the
Pats to It was seven to six at the end
of the first East made their way back into the
end zone three different times before the break, twice on
runs from McCune and once through the air where he
(02:28):
connected with Dylan Buck, making it twenty seven to six
at halftime. The second half was very similar scoring wise.
East had their way with the Maroons on the ground
and through the air. They had three different players find
the end zone in this game. A big win for
them and it puts them securely in second place of
the ok Black. At this time, I was hoping to
see a bit more from Griffin Louth tonight, the Holland
Christian quarterback. He did have a touchdown in the final
(02:49):
minute and a half of this game, but the Pioneer's
defense was just overwhelming. They struggled to move the ball
and capitalize on third down. Moving into our Healthcare Associates
Play and Player of the game, My play, hey, got
to be that ninety six yard kickoff return from Isaiah
Meerd for the Maroons to field it from the four
and then take it all the way back across the
field through the East defense was no easy feed. However,
(03:11):
my player of the game second week in a row,
Josh McHugh in the quarterback from East Grand Rapids. He
had the only touchdown of the game last week against Norriview. Tonight,
he scores three different times, two through the air, one
on the ground. EGR moves to four and two two
and one of the Okay Black and we'll travel to
thorn Apple Kellogg next week. Holland Christian now four and two,
one and two in the conference. And travels back Inland
(03:33):
next week to face undefeated Catholic Central. This report presented
by Service Professor. They'll fix it in a snap once again.

Symbol reporting from Zealand Stadium. This is Service Professor Game
Reporter Lucas Simble the Meyer High School Scoreboard. Show summary.
This report is presented by Service Professor Heating, Cooling, Plumbing,
and Electric Goal. They'll fix it in a snap here tonight.
In the defensive battle where every yard was hard earned,
you need a Christian running back. Jared Devriez Palva had
(08:56):
for six yards on the fourth and two play from
the Zealand bust fourteen yard line with a minute thirty
three left in the game to help the Crusaders run
out the clock and remain undefeated as they held off
a pesky Zealand West squad fourteen to six to grab
sole possession of first place in the OK goal Unity
Christians Max Bereger intercepted a Drew Aubrech pass befoort Zealand
Wes' first possession, and the Crusaders eventually Our faced with
(09:17):
a fourth and eleven at the Ducks twenty yard line
on their initial drive. Crusader quarterback Justin Phoebus was un phased, though,
as he escaped pressure and came up with Our Healthcare
Associates play of the game as he released the pass
just before crossing the line of scrimmage and fell on
tight end Carter Skolton, who was able to stretch his
six foot five frame just enough to reel in the
catch for a twenty yard score. Debrees ran in the
two point conversion and it was eight to nothing Unity.
(09:39):
Late early in the second quarter, Zealand West answered right back, though,
as Brandon Holman raised thirty four yards for a Duck's touchdown.
Midway through the second quarter, Unity Christian bottled up the
two point conversion run and it remained eight six Crusaders.
Midway through the second quarter. Both teams were stopped in
their next possession, but Zealand West hurt themselves with a
meager eighteen yard part, helping Unity Christian go forty yards
(10:00):
to just fifty seven seconds with Devrees providing Kapper to
the drive on a four yard TD run. Holman blocked
Unity's extra point and we had a fourteen to six
Crusader halftime lead. Logan Nash recovered to fumble and Nico
moncun intercepted a pass for Zeeland Muss in the third quarter,
but the Ducks were unable to take advantage of either turnover.
Zeland West had one last attempt to tie up the
game early in the fourth quarters. They moved the ball
(10:21):
down to the Unity Christian twenty six yard line, but
Lucas Elliott was able to bat down allbricks fourth down
heave at the five yard line to get the Crusaders
the ball back. Unity Christian took over at their own
thirty six and used a key roughing the passer call
with about four minutes left to eventually set up Debrees
for his fourth down run for a first down. As
the Crusaders ran the final eight minutes and forty four
seconds off the clock to preserve the incredibly hard fought win.
(10:43):
Devrez led the way on the ground for Unity Christian
with thirteen carries for sixty four yards and a touchdown.
Tebus was just one of five for twenty yards, but
his only completion was for a touchdown. He was also
picked off once. Holman was once again tough to contain
as he paced number six ranked in Division three Zealand Less,
with twenty three rushes for one hundred twenty yard and
the ducks only touchdown. He also called all three of
(11:03):
Abrek's completed passes for forty five yards and racked up
nine tackles defensively, You needed Christian. The number three ranked
team in Division four is now six and oh three
and oh in the Okay goal and we'll host Wyoming
next week. Zealand West falls to four and two two
and one in the Gold and we'll begin a stretch
of playing their final three games on the road next
Friday at FORSL Central. This report is presented by Service
Professor Dope Dixit in a snap once again, our final
(11:25):
here tonight from Zealand Stadium, was you needy Christian fourteen
to Zealand West six, and our healthcare associate's player at
the game was you needy Christian senior running backs slash
linebacker Lucas Elliott, who ran the ball eleven times for
forty nine yards and also recorded ten tackles on defense.
Reporting from Zealand Stadium, this is a service, professor, game

Speaker 1 (11:43):

a fine game there. In their game of the week,
Muskegan a big win over Mona Shores twenty eight to twelve,
and with that win, the Big Red grab a firm
grasp of first place in the Ok Green. They are
three to zero in the league. Play Owner Shorts false

ninety six to one game of the week was a
(13:51):
wild one and thought it was going to be a
blowout at halftime. Is a big twenty one nothing or
twenty eight nothing lead for Hudsonville turned into a seven
point game in the second half. Hudsonville held on thanks
to a great one handed touchdown catch late in the
end zone. You want to hear more about it, well,
here's Brett, Bikita and Bucchino summarize in our ninety six

Speaker 6 (14:09):

(14:39):
let's go to our final scoring summary this one in
buck Gino. We've had some crazy games over the years
that we've called, but twenty eight to nothing, Hudsonville jumps
out in that first half. We're thinking maybe running clock
right as we discuss at halftime, give Rockford credit. Brent
comings and they've done this before and came back and
won at Mischigan. They make this a dotty brook in
(14:59):
the second half and really came back to life set
up by their defense to just fall short thirty five
twenty eight to Hudsonville in a thriller.
Speaker 7 (15:07):
Well, you felt like if Rockford could just get a
couple of stops, they might have been able to get
back into the game.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Earlier.
Speaker 7 (15:13):
They got the one down here in the first half
of Hudsonville getting out to that twenty eight to nothing lead,
Brady van Lake passing touchdown in a rushing touchdown or
two rushing touchdowns and Owen.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Harrison of the other.
Speaker 7 (15:24):
And we get into the second half in Rockford and
dire straits down twenty eight to nothing, but then it
starts her in a three yard touchdown run, then Daniels
to hold a forty eight yard touchdown pass near the
end of the third quarter to draw them to twenty
eight to fourteen, and then a one yard touchdown by
Lucaharn after Breeding Daniels led them down with two long
(15:45):
passes on the drive gets him in the scoring position.
Luke finishes it off and all of a sudden it's
twenty eight to twenty one with eight fifty one to
go in the fourth quarter. But Hudsonville embarked on a
game clinching drive and ended it with a catch that
we will talk about for not only tonight, but for
a very long time. Van Lake to loss and Weber
(16:08):
pat was good and that made the score thirty five
to twenty one. Rockford would not quit, though they cash
in one last time Daniels to Eike Bauer from fifteen
yards out and that was the final score.
Speaker 6 (16:20):
Hut welcome back out to Krylson Bunger Stadium in Rockford,
Brett Pikita and Buckchino our game of the week. A
thriller tonight, Hudsonville pulls it out on the road over
Rockford thirty five to twenty eight. So we welcome into
the discount door. Postgame report for this one brought to.
Speaker 8 (16:35):
You my friends.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Sorry, we got our wires cross that we were about
to play. Brett was talking about the play of the
game in that big game again, it was thirty five.
It was twenty eight to twenty one, as Rockford had
scored twenty one answered in the second half to get
within a single touchdown and Hudsonville needed some momentum back
and they got it in a big way as.
Speaker 6 (16:55):
They worked towards the left, Hash Harsma to the left
of Van Lake on third and Well takes the snap,
Baked Harsma in the pocket, looking looking out, flushed out

that fantastic play and uh congratulations to the service professor
electrifying play of the night. When we take all our game.

Joining those finals we got coming in one of the
most exciting games of the night by far took place
at Northview High School tonight, a back and forth affair
where thorneipp A Kellogg pulled out a dramatic overtime win
over the host Northew Wildcats thirty seven to thirty. Winning
coach Jeff Doc joins us on the liveline right now, coach,
I hope you caught your breath by now. Boy, what
a wild win. He must have been gratifying for your
(18:31):
squad to come up with a big win.
Speaker 8 (18:34):
Yeah, it was fantastic. You know, it's awesome for Awesome
for our kids, Awesome for the coaching staff, awesome for
our community.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Jeff, I, you know, coaches sometimes say that you can
learn sometimes as much or more from a loss as
you did for a win. And I've got to think
you go in toe to toe with state powerhouse Catholic
Central last week before falling ten to nothing, holding them
to ten points and being within just ten points of that,
that had to tell you a lot about the character
(19:04):
of your team. That carried over to tonight.
Speaker 8 (19:06):
Oh, tremendous, it was. It was huge. You know, we
tried to just figure out how to wait, how to
win close games, and going toe to toe to those
guys going toe to toe to Hayes things. You know,
I mean, we kept trying to figure it out, and
tonight we got it done.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Yeah, you lost the heartbreaker to Hastings thirty one to
twenty nine to start out the season before rattling off
three straight wins. Tell me what again, you haven't a
chance to see the tape, but we did not have
a reporter at your game tonight. We were just getting
the score coming in back and forth. It sounded like
a wild one. What do you think was the key
to TK coming up on top?
Speaker 8 (19:44):
Yeah, I mean we you know, we took care of
the football and we executed really well. We didn't give
any big plays up on defense, and we came up
with a huge stop there at the end in overtime.
And you know, again a testament to all of our kids.
(20:04):
They play incredibly hard. They're warriors, and they're so fun
to coach and so fun to watch. And you know,
they closed out a game and it was sweet thrown.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
Apple Kellogg coach Jeff Docs joining us on the line
right now. They beat North through thirty seven thirty and overtime. Coach,
you mentioned that defensive stop. Take us back to that
final play that that you got to stop on and
and if you can mention the player too, maybe that
stepped up to get that final stop to secure the
win for you guys.
Speaker 8 (20:31):
Yeah, I mean collectively, we made some great tackles early
on in overtime, and then you know, they tried to
throw an outside outside out route in the end zone
and Micah doc came in and knocked it down. Previous play,
Zeke Webster made a great knockdown on a pass as well,
(20:53):
so just absolutely huge. And you know, I mean we
kicked a field goal right there at the end of regulation.
Mason ship Is made I think a thirty four yard
field goal to tie it up put us in overtime.
So lots of lots of really good stuff from a
lot of awesome kids and really great team win.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
Is Mike or your son coach?
Speaker 8 (21:13):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Was it like coaching your son and watching him have
a big game like that.
Speaker 8 (21:17):
Yes, it's it's pretty exciting, you know, Uh, it's it's
it's special, so awesome. He did a nice job running
the offense uh as well. And you know, Deebo Robinson,
our fullback, ran his tail off in an offensive line. UH,
created holes and gaps and it was. It was, like
(21:39):
I said, it super super special and super proud of
how hard our kids played.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
A lot of the frying panon of the fire. Your
two and one league player, as is East Grand Rappers,
which one tonight the Pioneers come to your place. Got
to be a big game at home for you next week.
Speaker 8 (21:52):
Yeah, totally. I mean it's you know, we lock and
loaded again. It's uh, you know, we played tough opponents
and we all always got to be ready. And East
is a great team and they're big and physical and
so looking forwards for the opportunity. But we're going to
celebrate this one for twenty four hours and then go
back to work and move on.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Congrats Jeff, Doc, coach of the Thornabo Kellogg squad that
beat North th youeugh to nite thirty seven thirty.
Speaker 4 (22:16):
Good luck.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
We'll catch up with you down the road.
Speaker 8 (22:17):
Jeff, thank you, appreciate it. Have a great night, all.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
Right, take care.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
All right, big win there for Thorneovo Kellog and the
ok Black and in the Old River City's Alliance and
I had a big showdown game between Lowell and Kenawa Hills.
Kenawa Hills two to zero in first place. Can they
hang on and keep first place to all themselves against
Lowell well Bow Hobbson is going to.
Speaker 12 (22:36):
Tell you reporting from Kenawa Hills High School. This is
service professor game reporter Bo Hobson with a Meyer High
School scoreboard show game summary. This report is presented by
a service professor Heating, Cooling, plumbing, and electrical. They'll fix
it in a snap final here from Kenawa Hills on
this perfect October night, forty nine to thirty five home
team Nights coming out with the conference win versus the
(22:58):
Lowell Red Earrows and it was a roller coaster of
a game tonight, points being scored left and right, and
even though Kenawa Hills came out the victor in this one,
Lowell certainly gave them their best shot. The team's traded
touchdowns in the first quarter and we went into the
second knotted up at seven, but the tie was quickly
broken by Lowell's Logan Dawson on a one yard touchdown run,
(23:18):
and after a missed pat the score sat thirteen to seven.
Low That was when London Hampton of the Knights decided
it was time for him to take over this game,
scoring two of his four yes four rushing touchdowns back
to back in the second quarter to give Kenawa Hills
a twenty one to thirteen halftime lead, and Hampton was
not done yet. Very first play from scrimmage of the
(23:41):
second half, he takes at seventy six yards to the house,
breaking ankles and breaking tackles in what really truly was
one of the more impressive runs that I've seen at
the high school level. There's a reason this guy holds
several D one offers. And that was tonight's Healthcare Associates
play of the game that made it twenty eight to
thirteen Nights, and it looked like they were bound to
(24:02):
pull away after Grayson Fellows dove in the end zone
from one earn out later in the third to make
it thirty five to thirteen. Lowell was pesky all night though,
Like I said, they wouldn't go away, and Mitchellike would
not let them go quietly. He scored late in the
third to make it a two score game at thirty
five nineteen, but despite some miscues in the fourth that
included a safety, Kenaway Hills scored two more times to
(24:24):
put this one out of reach. Lowell was let on
the ground by Mitchellike who finished with thirteen carries for
one hundred and ten yards and two scores, and quarterback
Logan Dawson also chipped in with nineteen carries for sixty
six yards and three scores. And on the kenawhay Hill side,
it was a dominant offensive performance from both Grayson Fellows
the quarterback he finished with seventy yards and three scores
(24:46):
on the ground and two hundred and twelve yards through
the air, and also from London Hampton, who leaves this
one with a whopping two hundred and twenty five yards
on the ground and four touchdowns, making him to Night's
Healthcare Associates Player of the g Game. With the win
here tonight, Kenawa Hills moves to five and one on
the season and remains on top of the River City's
(25:06):

Speaker 13 (29:22):
Reporting from Whitehall Middle School. This is Service Professor Game
Reporter Scott de Camp with a Meyer High School scoreboard.
Show summary. This report is presented by Service Professor Heating, Cooling, Plumbing,
and Electrical. They'll fix it in a snap and a thriller. Visiting.
Okres spoiled Whitehall's homecoming with a second half rally in
a fourteen to thirteen victory. Okres showed Whitehall thirteen to
(29:42):
nothing at halftime, but came charging back in the second half.
Ochres took the lead with fifty four seconds left on
a fifteen yard touchdown pass on third and twelve from
Logan Houston to Jaden Daily. Sienna Ecker was clutched on
the pat, knocking it through. Okredge got on the board
with forty two seconds left in the third quarter when
Jordan Gerrera McGrady scored on a twenty six yard run.
(30:02):
Ackers kick was good, calling the Eagles within thirteen to seven.
In the defensive battle for most of the first half,
Whitehall scored twice in the final three zero seven to
take a thirteen zero lead into halftime. Liam Leak scored
on a one yard run with three er seven left
in the second quarter, and Aid Mendoza made the PAT
kick for a seven zero lead. Whitehall scored again with
forty nine seconds left in the half on a thirty
(30:22):
seven yard touchdown pass from Colassa Baggers to Corday Anderson.
The PAT sailed wide right, leaving the score thirteen to zero.
Akers winning PAT was the Healthcare Associates play of the game.
Guerrero McGrady was the Healthcare Associates Player of the game
after he rushed for one hundred and thirty seven d
yards and a touchdown on thirty carries. Toty yards were
closed as Whitehall finished with a two forty six to
(30:43):
two thirty two edge. Next week, oak Ridge five on
one overall and five on one in the WC Lakes
hosts Belding on homecoming night in a non league game. Meanwhile,
Whitehall four and two overall and three and one in
the Lakes travels to face undefeated Luddington in the Big

rallied in the second half to stun Whitehall fourteen at thirteen.

This is a service professor game reporter Scott DeCamp.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
All right, thanks Scott, good job on that. We're trying

five four three seven seven six trying to track down
Coach Parker from Muskegan Oakridge with that big win tonight,
(31:30):
take a break, come back with some more. We got
reports and interviews. Still come and stay with us on
the Meyer Scoreboard Show here on ninety six one the

continuing on with the Meyer High School Scoreboard Show on

m us the moose.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
Here.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
You just heard that report from Scott to Camp on
the exciting win by Oakridge over Whitehall fourteen to thirteen.
Tim Parker is the head coach of Muskegan Oakridge. He
joined us on the liveline right now. Coach sounds like
a real thrilling game, and it got to be a
satisfying win to get it anywhere, but especially on the road.
Speaker 11 (32:02):
Yeah, that was a big victory for us. We didn't
play as well in the first half as we thought
we could, and we came out in the second half
and we played our game and luckily things went our
way in the second half.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Your defense obviously played well. Give us a couple guys
that you know played well before you even look at
the tape.
Speaker 11 (32:21):
Bruston six, my middle linebacker is second year back, and
then my other linebacker McGrady, who had played lights out
on offense also thirty carries. Those two guys just leading
my defense. They set the front, They make all the
defensive adjustments and calls on the field. They're my field
generals and they play light flights out when they're playing well.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
Tim looking at your season started out with three really
nice wins over Orchard View, Montague and Mannissey. Then you
take a pretty big l to undefeated Lodington, one of
four teams in all of West Michigan with the still
undefeated today. But you guys really bounce back nicely with
a big win over Fremont last week.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
Forty one to sixteen.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
That had to mean a lot to your guys and
to you and the coaching staff to see him bounce
back like that.
Speaker 11 (33:05):
Yeah, you know, we challenged the kids that week and
we said, you know, that wasn't the Oakridge team that
was in the first three weeks that we played when
we played let and Luddyin' is a great team. Taking
nothing away from them. They're going to make a deep
run in Division four this year. The Gundel kid is
the real deal. Ferris is kind of a great one coming
up their way. I'll be watching fun watching him on
Saturdays in the future.
Speaker 8 (33:26):
But we just told our.
Speaker 11 (33:27):
Kids it's not about that, it's about us. We have
to focus on what we're doing wrong and what we
need to improve on. And they, I mean everyone was
there day one and they've done that. They've done it.
They've been they were able to come to the call
whenever we needed them to from that point on, and
it's been kind.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Of nice to see Ulkridge coach Tim Parker join us
on the live line. Right now, the schedule favors you.
Speaker 12 (33:50):
Now.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
You've got two of your last three at home, starting
a non conference game home against Belding, which is a
strong squad. You've got to be ready for the Black
Knights there.
Speaker 11 (33:59):
Yeah, you know, money Price is a great coach. You know,
we've had battles with him when he was at Reed
City in the playoffs. We've played Building in the playoffs
two or three times in the last five years, and
then we've signed this two year deal with them to
kind of fill our schedule. They really pushed us around
last year, so our kids are pretty excited about the
chance for them to come in here next week and
(34:21):
kind of redeem themselves that we did not play well
last year against them.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
What's your focus now, coach on the conference? Are you
thinking ahead to playoff situation? Where's the thought process right
now with your squad?
Speaker 11 (34:32):
We talk to the kids all the time. We don't
look ahead right now. The only focus we have is
for next Friday night against Building. All those things will
play out if we take care of ourselves week the week,
and that's the mentality that we have. That's the mentality
and my coaches have. We're focused on fixing the problems
that we have or the little things that we need
(34:53):
to fix and improve on for the next game, and
we don't even really look ahead, don't look at scores.
None of that stuff even looked at anything in Belding.
I do know a couple of their scores just because
you know, they run across the ticker on of Friday night,
but I haven't looked at them at all. So yeah,
we're a week the week team. That's that's our focus.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
Coach Tim Parker, A big win for the Blue and White.
The Oakridge Eagles win it tonight, fourteen thirteen. Thanks for
joining us, coach. Best of luck the rest of the
way and in the postseason as well.
Speaker 11 (35:20):
Thank you very much, Thanks for your time.
Speaker 4 (35:22):
All right.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
Good to hear satisfying win for that squad like that,
especially to bounce back after being Luddington. And as he said,
Luddington is one of the four teams in West Michigan
is still defeated. You know the other three, Sure you do,
Hudsonville Unity, Christian and Grant Arabs Catholic Central with all
three of those one tonight, So the four has did Luddington.
So they're all still a perfect six and zero two
(35:43):
thirds of the way through the regular season. But we'll
take a break, come back with more of the Meer
scoreboard show on ninety six won the game and one
of the holdly, they're waving me down here. We got
a report to get in, don't we there? Bud Well,
all right, but John says, yeah, we've got a report.
So let's go to Jeff Doms game report on the
Forts Northern Reez Buffer game.
Speaker 4 (35:58):
Go ahead, Jeff.
Speaker 10 (36:00):
Awarding from Reese Puffer. This is Michigan Sports Radio's Jeff
dam with a Meyer High School scoreboard postgame report. Tonight,
the Forest Hills Northern Huskies win a surprisingly wild game
forty to twenty seven against a fun Reese Puffer squad
to move to five hundred on the year and keep
their playoff hopes alive. This was the perfect prototype contest
(36:22):
when an announcer says it was a tale of two
halves because each team only had two possessions each in
the entire first half of this ballgame. It was a
rock fight. Northern was able to score with under one
minute left in the half on a fifteen yard touchdown
run by junior quarterback Owen Ostapo that made it seven
to nothing heading into the locker room. In that half,
(36:45):
we saw ten third down plays between the two teams.
And why do I tell you that? Why did I
bring that stat to your doorstep, because we saw only
one more the entire ballgame and there were zero turnovers
by either offense. It was touchdown after touchdown after touchdown.
The tennis match began in the second half. The Huskies,
thank goodness if you're a Husky fan, started with the
(37:07):
ball and on the opening kickoff ended that one with
a nine yard touchdown run by Owen Ostipo, his second
of the game. It's thirteen to nothing. Reee Puffer comes
back thirteen yard touchdown run by their sophomore quarterback Cole
Piper that made it a one possession game. The Northern
side took the ball around midfield ended it with a
thirty nine yard touchdown run by their star running back
(37:30):
Colton Sawyer that made it twenty to six. Then the
big play of the game a surprise on sidekick by
coach Eddie Ostipo that was successful and perfectly executed by
his squad that led to another touchdown run by Owen Ostipo.
Three now out of the first four. Reeze Puffer wasn't done.
(37:51):
They made a quarterback shift, brought in Braylan Swain, the
junior who has a little bit better of an arm
than Cole Piper, who was their running quarterback. Sway's spread
out the offense. This offense looked great for the Rockets.
Amazing receivers all around that are all young, so look
out for them in the coming years. One of those receivers,
Paul Smith, is the tight end. He had a three
(38:11):
yard touchdown pass on fourth down that made it twenty.
Speaker 4 (38:14):
Six to thirteen.
Speaker 10 (38:16):
Northern came back again astuppose only touchdown passed the game,
twenty yards to Greg Williamson. Another touchdown by Reese Puffer
coming back by Mason Dark that one also from Swayin
Owen gets his fourth touchdown on the ground that made
it forty to twenty, and then Greg Williamson scored one more.
Greg Williams, i should say, scored one more time for
(38:39):
the Reese Puffer Rockets. He's a sophomore from seven yards out.
So after only one score and three punts and ten
third down plays in the first half, we had one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine,
ten straight possessions between these two teams where there were
touchdowns scored and we just simply ran out of time.
(39:01):
The biggest difference in this game was the on side
kick by four sills Northern and the fact that they
deferred on the opening coin flips, so they got the
ball to start the second half. That was the difference
in the game. It was a wild one and a
fun one to watch. And your final score once again
forty to twenty seven. The Huskies go to three and three,
two and one in the OK Gold and we'll host
(39:24):
Mona Shores at home. Reese Puffer drops to two and three.
They take on Byron Center next week. Our Healthcare Associates
Player of the game, no doubt about it, Owen Ostapol,
And unfortunately I do not have official stats on his
rushing yardage. It was decent, definitely over one hundred yards,
but I can tell you he amassed five out of
the six touchdowns, one with his arm and four on
(39:46):
the ground. So once again, it was a wild one
here up in Muskegan and a fun one to watch,
and the Huskies are victorious forty to twenty seven. Reporting
from Reese Puffer High School for the Meyer High School
Scoreboard Show. This is Jeff Dohm.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
Ah right, thanks Jeff, good job, what a heck. We
