Jesus tells us in Matthew 7 not to judge others.

Not because sin isn’t real…

but because our heart needs cleaning before we ever try to fix someone else’s.

Today we talk about humility…

about grace…

about checking our own attitudes before pointing fingers…

and about choosing prayer over criticism.

Let’s live this out today

and look like Jesus

in a world that desperately needs His mercy.

The wooden cricket. What's up family?
This is the Wooden Cricket podcast and I'm Lawrence.
Today is Monday and we made it to another work week, haven't
we? And today we continue our

(00:26):
teachings of Jesus series and this one, it's a shorter one,
but it's a serious one. This one, it's like heart
surgery because today Jesus teaches on something.
We all struggle, yes, and we allneed correction on the topic.
Today is simple but deep like I say, and it's do not judge and I

(00:52):
want you to lean in today because Jesus aims this one at
the heart. If you start in Matthew Chapter
7 verse one, Jesus says do not judge others and you will not be
judged, for you will be treated as you treat others.
The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you

(01:14):
will be judged. And why worry about a speck in
your friend's eye when you have a log in your own?
How can you think of saying to your friend, let me help you get
rid of that speck in your eye when you can't see past the log
in your own eye? Hypocrite.
Get rid of the log in your own eye.
Then you will see well enough todeal with the spec in your

(01:36):
friend's eye. You notice Jesus doesn't say
that we can never help someone. No, He simply says, deal with
your own heart first, so that when you do finally speak, you
speak clean and you speak healedand you speak humbly.

(02:00):
The world teaches us to constantly compare ourselves to
others, but Jesus teaches us to constantly examine ourselves.
This teaching is not about pretending that sin isn't sin.
It's about making sure that my heart is clean before God before

(02:23):
I ever try to address someone else.
Do you understand? It's about making sure that you
and your heart are good and thatyou have that relationship with
God before you start trying to help other people.
Here's a deeper layer. This is where you know this hits
reality. Judgment is easy and repentance

(02:46):
is hard, and Jesus calls us to choose the hard holy work.
Jesus is looking for believers who lead with mercy, who lead
with humility, that lead with patience, and that lead with

(03:07):
grace. I don't think he's looking for
believers who lead with accusations or comparisons or
that level of spiritual pride that maybe you've seen before.
And this matters because a prideful believer can actually

(03:28):
hinder, They can actually block someone from seeing Jesus or
from getting to know Jesus. But a humble believer, A humble
believer helps clear the way to Jesus.
So let's go right to the core here.
What if today, instead of critiquing people, we instead

(03:53):
prayed for people? What if instead of making small
gossips, we decided to intercede?
What if instead of assuming the worst, we believed God for the
best? That's heart transformation

(04:16):
family. We're on this journey together
and like I said, this was a short 1 today, but tomorrow we
continue this Teachings of Jesusseries and it just keeps getting
deeper. But today, Monday's real life
moment, when you walk into your job or your community or your
grocery store and just your conversations, remember to

(04:39):
choose mercy over judgment because that is what Jesus looks
like. And remember, if you don't have
a church home yet, check out Calvary Temple online.
They've got great messages whileyou search for your home,
church, family. I love you.

(05:00):
Go be a bright light in the darkplace today.
All for Jesus. Until tomorrow I'm Audi.
Peace.
